Do We Really Believe?

Episode Description

What if the gap between what we say we believe and how we actually live is bigger than we’ve been willing to admit?

Jesus said that whoever believes in Him would do the works He did and greater. That’s not a verse for someone else. It was said to whoever believes, and that includes us. But most of us are not living anywhere near what Jesus described as normal for those who follow Him. That gap is not something we can keep ignoring.

Do we really believe everything the Bible says, or only the parts that keep us comfortable? We look at how information alone doesn’t change us, why revelation is what actually moves the truth of God’s Word into something we walk in, and how our belief tends to collapse in the specific places where the world has trained us to expect impossibility.

We also examine what has been shaping our belief. The pastors, the influences, the parts of Scripture we’ve disregarded, the parts we’ve never studied for ourselves. Because whatever we’re consistently giving our attention to is what’s directing our life, whether we’ve realized it or not.

This isn’t about condemnation or pretending any of us have this figured out. It’s about being willing to look at where we are, compare it to what Jesus actually said, and let the Holy Spirit show us where we’ve settled for less than what’s been made available to us.

The standard Jesus set still stands. The question is whether we’re willing to walk it out.
