Meet Madame Vesta La Viesta, a trailblazing mystic and self-proclaimed astral traveler who fascinated early 20th-century New York City with her cosmic adventures and spiritual teachings. As a star instructor at Harlem’s Occult School of Science, she claimed her spirit could leave her body and explore distant planets. Her otherworldly encounters included extraterrestrial beings, soul-mated couples, and the intimate phenomenon she called the “soul kiss.”

Madame Viesta also promoted some unusual beauty rituals, played an unexpected role in the search for a missing plane, and documented her astral revelations in her book People of Other Worlds. Was she a visionary tapping into something beyond our reality, or a master storyteller spinning cosmic mysteries for a curious audience?
