Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_03]: Hello and welcome back to another episode of May Chand High Five.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your dungeon master, Casey Pappas, and with me, ranked least to most likely to order an ice drink during the winter.

[SPEAKER_03]: First up, Max Weinberg, I feel like I've been least a lot on his rankings.

[SPEAKER_00]: You do normal shit and that's good for you.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was really bracing for an insult there and you just went aggressively mid.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's just because you're kind of regular.

[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like a lot of these are like you're the sensible choice.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm the I'm the tethered to reality.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're doing the right thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's like you're taking Mario and Mario Kart.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh God.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's his car.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's his car.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I'm playing Wyatt and he would not get anything iced because it all has to be warm He's a warm drink kind of boy.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's a little warm boy.

[SPEAKER_04]: I could see him drinking a cold drink just because he's so warm inside and he just needs to He's like a furnace.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's his travel thermos if it gets cold.

[SPEAKER_04]: He just heats it himself Oh That's a sweet when he metal Next Robin Lengenhub [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, I'm Robin Lang and Hop playing Hayden Kincaid and I will one.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't drink coffee famously.

[SPEAKER_04]: We all know this.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm the opposite of Hayden and that's it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And also I am the opposite of drinking a cold drink in the winter because I will drink a hot drink in the middle of summer.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll take a nice hot, hot, much a lot of tea and walk around when it's ninety degrees.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's correct.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why am I still doing this podcast?

[SPEAKER_04]: You invited me.

[SPEAKER_04]: You tricked me into this.

[SPEAKER_02]: I did no such thing.

[SPEAKER_03]: And Rowan McStay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, I am Ron McStay playing Solveye Rire and I have developed a system of tricks to make it so that my hands don't get cold wrapped around my little iced coffee in the dead of February.

[SPEAKER_02]: What?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I have my metal insulated tumbler that I'll use for my iced coffee.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, I knitted some mug cozys.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have mittens.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like really committed to the ice drink, but not having cold hands.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, baby.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think Solomon had coffee in three, but I think there was like a man servant who would grind the beans for her every day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Being by being.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's the imported stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, Lataran coffee for sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Elvis coffee.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a French.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well, with that, Paul Shaw.

[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Let's, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: We don't develop a double Shaw on for Elvis coffee.

[SPEAKER_04]: We know where this is going.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we're all afraid to actually start the episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, this sucks.

[SPEAKER_03]: Let's dive.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ready.

[SPEAKER_03]: Last time, on Mage Hand Haifa.

[SPEAKER_03]: You played poker.

[SPEAKER_03]: To fulfill a deal with Cordron Light Feather, to find a ruler more willing to stand against three.

[SPEAKER_03]: The three of you sat at a table with Barabas Bartel and Lowthric Dawn Star, hoping to trick the latter into betting and losing his office.

[SPEAKER_03]: with many secrets spilled along the way, including Bartle revealing that he's on the hunt for a runaway Jamison.

[SPEAKER_03]: You succeed in goding Don Star before Hayden wins the final round of the game.

[SPEAKER_03]: Frantic to keep his position, Don Star attempts to cancel the death by taking them out.

[SPEAKER_03]: The three of you incapacitate him, whereby he reveals himself to be merely a puppet.

[SPEAKER_03]: Taking possession of Dawn Star's body, the true mastermind of Echo then reveals himself.

[SPEAKER_03]: High archivist and Lord Magister Facts.

[SPEAKER_03]: Where you are now.

[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like you kind of undersold how much we won that fight with just incapacitated him.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, maybe I should have added quickly.

[SPEAKER_03]: The three of you quickly incapacitate him.

[SPEAKER_03]: That was a show lacking.

[SPEAKER_04]: We just weren't really good at our jobs on this one particular instance.

[SPEAKER_03]: We killed it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well done.

[SPEAKER_03]: Two hardened mercenaries and a school child took out a lazy politician with a shotgun.

[SPEAKER_03]: Great.

[SPEAKER_03]: Where you are now?

[SPEAKER_03]: You are all three still in the back room of the Gilded Lily.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is the three of you and Barabas Bartle.

[SPEAKER_03]: There is the war forged bartender behind the bar, who is just sort of awaiting orders.

[SPEAKER_03]: There is the guard off to the side, who is slowly catching her breath.

[SPEAKER_03]: And there is Lothric, who I believe y'all have pinned to the wall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_03]: However, at the moment, he is not Lothric.

[SPEAKER_03]: As one of his eyes is wide open.

[SPEAKER_03]: and it is glowing orange like fire embers.

[SPEAKER_03]: His mouth is wide and a grin, and he says, [SPEAKER_01]: Bye soon.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am Lord Magister and I are chivalrous of echo, facts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Watcher of the wind, dream-born, and last of my ill.

[SPEAKER_01]: What fair wind have I to think for guiding your ships to my humble harbor?

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that fair wind would be Dr.

Helena Bancroft.

[SPEAKER_01]: A fair windry east and a valuable ally.

[SPEAKER_01]: I must offer my deepest apologies for my subordinate.

[SPEAKER_01]: He misunderstands his purpose.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then, what more can be expected of one so like a fly, flitting and foolish?

[SPEAKER_01]: He will learn it soon enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: For you see, we all serve a purpose.

[SPEAKER_04]: Care to enlighten us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Salome, the altruist.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yours is a white-trust mission.

[SPEAKER_01]: You see the world as increasingly evil and your places to correct it, to write its injustices.

[SPEAKER_01]: To cleanse it of that evil.

[SPEAKER_00]: I suppose that's a bit of an oversimplification.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not flattering one, but [SPEAKER_00]: More than anything, I think.

[SPEAKER_00]: My mission is to protect my community and to make up for the lost time I spent living off of its exploitation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder how similar an answer I read in the three-tarrot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you already read my whole story in the three-tarrot, why bother talking to me about it now?

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, all seems like everybody's learned everything they need to know about me from the papers.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I look at Barabas when I say that.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm in the business of knowing more.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I would love to gain your side of the story at some point.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hayden, you're a gatherer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your basket was upturned, and you seek to return its pieces to their rightful places.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your siblings to your side, and court war to an unmarked grave.

[SPEAKER_04]: Again, I'd say I think we're shooting for some wild oversimplifications, but I'd be happy to elucidate you if you tell us what's in it for us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Allow me a moment and then we can talk plans.

[SPEAKER_01]: For next, perhaps, is our most?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was going to say interesting, but in fact, it is the opposite, Barabas.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your is simple by design.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're a go-for.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bartle, go-for this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bartle, go-for that.

[SPEAKER_01]: A soldier.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ask no questions.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the world is simple.

[SPEAKER_01]: Droll, perhaps.

[SPEAKER_01]: But simple.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Barabas.

[SPEAKER_03]: You see him stiff and a little bit at this, but makes no other outward sign.

[SPEAKER_05]: Mm.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then, there's young master Forsyth.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're undecided aren't you?

[SPEAKER_01]: You've been thrown into this realm rather hurriedly.

[SPEAKER_01]: It must be very jarring to transition from the classroom to the battlefield.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me why it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Would you like to go home?

[SPEAKER_02]: Not at this moment.

[SPEAKER_02]: I can't really help people from home.

[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of get shot in a room.

[SPEAKER_01]: May call me facts, though it is not quite befitting all I deserve.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Two things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, how the hell do you learn all this information about all of us?

[SPEAKER_00]: And why are you collecting it?

[SPEAKER_00]: And number two, [SPEAKER_00]: As much as you would like to know about the artifact that our friend was carrying, and as much as Dr.

Bankrov sent us here to give you information, at the end of the day we're here on a mission to make sure that the badlands get to support it needs against freed.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are bigger things at stake right now than what information you can collect.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, we would like maybe to help each other figure out what the hell's going on with this amulet because I think it's all tied in.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to need your help against three to give you anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, what the hell are we doing here?

[SPEAKER_01]: To answer your first question.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you ask the birds of the air why they fly?

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you ask the fish why it swims?

[SPEAKER_01]: Then ask not why I gather in formation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Knowledge is my life's blood.

[SPEAKER_02]: I do spend a lot of time questioning, or thinking about why the flame still burns after all these years.

[SPEAKER_02]: In inquisitive mind, really shouldn't be something that would denigrate.

[SPEAKER_02]: You like to collect information.

[SPEAKER_02]: And when we asked a question, you are actively denying us information, so it sounds like you don't want other people to be as inquisitive as you.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it sounds a little bit different.

[SPEAKER_00]: We asked what are you doing and you said no.

[SPEAKER_00]: The kids actually really got a good point.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting a little frustrated.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your second question.

[SPEAKER_00]: Solving Wigs at Wyatt.

[SPEAKER_03]: Your second question I cannot answer is I flips to you Wyatt not to deny you information.

[SPEAKER_01]: But because your motives for being here are yours, I cannot answer.

[SPEAKER_01]: What brought you here?

[SPEAKER_01]: However, I can elucidate that your motives set yourselves on a collision course with fate [SPEAKER_01]: You see, echo is not in a place to defend itself.

[SPEAKER_00]: From three to...

And why ever not?

[SPEAKER_00]: Who the hell do you think you are to turn your back on all the people you claim to be in charge of?

[SPEAKER_01]: You ask me, I have been here since echoes for mission.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was built around me.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is an extension of my very being.

[SPEAKER_01]: As a snake outgroves its skin, however, so have I finally outgrown what echo can bring me.

[SPEAKER_01]: The university's potential for information gathering is vastly outstripped by the invading army that is Jamison.

[SPEAKER_01]: How dare I you ask?

[SPEAKER_01]: I would rather ask how dare I deny echo its purpose as a bargaining chip.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, do you understand?

[SPEAKER_00]: Not quite.

[SPEAKER_00]: What are you planning to do?

[SPEAKER_01]: Once the Jamesons arrive at my gates, [SPEAKER_01]: I will let them in.

[SPEAKER_01]: The city will be theirs.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I will accept my payment.

[SPEAKER_00]: And what will that payment be?

[SPEAKER_01]: Unrestricted access to threes archives and power within their new government.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is this just something you want or does this come from Roda?

[SPEAKER_01]: Rota.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you know this name too.

[SPEAKER_04]: We've picked up a few things in our travels.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, your potential for information gathering is unexpected.

[SPEAKER_00]: I look sideways at Barabas and say, what the hell does he mean, new government?

[SPEAKER_03]: Barabas shoots you back a look.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like he seems to have the same question.

[SPEAKER_03]: In his mind, he does not seem to be aware of this either.

[SPEAKER_02]: Does that information increase the probability of us being able to meet with you?

[UNKNOWN]: No.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you didn't answer my question.

[SPEAKER_04]: Repeat it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Does this grand scheme of yours come directly from you?

[SPEAKER_04]: Or does it come from Roda?

[SPEAKER_01]: I serve myself.

[SPEAKER_01]: For I am the only one worthy of my allegiance.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's kind of healthy and a strange fucked up kind of way, but.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think if it was combined with maybe a little less ego, I think it might be a really nice life philosophy, but yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It pains me to make deals with Jamison.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like ants compared to my vast intellect.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they will do the labor of ants.

[SPEAKER_01]: And everything they find in the badlands will be brought to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can you?

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, hold on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can you just tell us a little bit...

I was in three.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not too long ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't hear a damn thing about a new government.

[SPEAKER_01]: You would not, now would you.

[SPEAKER_01]: But parliament is a slow process.

[SPEAKER_01]: There are more efficient forms of government.

[SPEAKER_01]: One's with a sole leader.

[SPEAKER_01]: Does this clarify?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it does.

[SPEAKER_00]: We talking...

Tabirius?

[SPEAKER_00]: As a Tabirius or the Pontefax?

[SPEAKER_01]: I grow tired.

[SPEAKER_01]: I long too sleep, but now and this conversation has come to an end.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay, okay, so what, why are we here?

[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: What's, what is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: I expect nothing more from you than you have already provided.

[SPEAKER_01]: So now run like the little cockroaches that you are and know that this city is mine.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is nowhere you can go here that I cannot see you.

[SPEAKER_01]: No corner, Ali, or basement, is safe from my gaze.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was here when it was built and I will outlast it.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then suddenly, facts his right hand flies to his inner coat pocket, making to grab something.

[SPEAKER_03]: What do you do?

[SPEAKER_04]: I cut off the arm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Was what with glitter baby Am I swords right there if you're proficient in a sword you can grab it and use it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll grab your sword.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah Honestly very easy to cut through someone's arm with that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, totally.

[SPEAKER_04]: I've reached over to Solomon.

[SPEAKER_04]: Grab the sword off of her and just [SPEAKER_04]: instinctively swaying at the arm.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think as Hayden's doing that I grab Wyatt by the collar and like push him behind me and try to like bodily shield him from whatever's about to happen.

[SPEAKER_03]: Hayden roll attack with advantage.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_03]: As Fax's body is pinned.

[SPEAKER_04]: So twenty three to hit.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: You swing the blade up and just before it hits flesh.

[SPEAKER_03]: You see the edges of Fax's fangd mouth quirk upward for a moment.

[SPEAKER_03]: Then is I rolls back and low thrix pop up.

[SPEAKER_03]: Just as you slice through low-thrix right arm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, we were left handed.

[SPEAKER_03]: The arm falls to the ground and you see in his hand clutched a cigarette case.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_03]: Low-thrick begins screaming.

[SPEAKER_00]: And says, oh!

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Come here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fire.

[SPEAKER_00]: Winnie fire.

[SPEAKER_02]: Winnie fire.

[SPEAKER_02]: Winnie fire.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hate this up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I give him my sword to heat it up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: I blast it with some heat.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I try my damnedest to caudorize this guy's arm.

[SPEAKER_03]: You go to caudorize as you hold the blade to the flesh.

[SPEAKER_03]: You hear it.

[SPEAKER_03]: and low-threat begins screaming louder.

[SPEAKER_03]: So much louder that I need you all to make a perception check.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Eighteen for Wyatt.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Eleven.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Thirteen.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Wyatt.

[SPEAKER_03]: You hear from behind you an almost imperceptible.

[SPEAKER_03]: Winding up.

[SPEAKER_03]: You look back to see the bartender.

[SPEAKER_03]: Arm extended.

[SPEAKER_03]: Minigun worrying.

[SPEAKER_03]: and then it opens fire.

[SPEAKER_02]: Can I use my reaction, which it is, to use my warding flare, to give it disadvantage, whatever's about to happen with this gun?

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: I would say, because you're not surprised, you can do that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Great.

[SPEAKER_03]: I will do that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to attack you Hayden since it saw you attack low-freak.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ballad.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is going to do so with disadvantage.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ooh, and you're lucky it did.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, that was in a weapon to hit.

[SPEAKER_04]: Not gonna do it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why you release a jet of fire into the face of this bartender that minigun arcs up and bullets.

[SPEAKER_03]: Pummel the wall above your heads.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you hear pirabas say shit.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then duck behind the poker table.

[SPEAKER_03]: And you are all in an initiative once more.

[SPEAKER_03]: Whoa.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dammit all roll one again roll again That's an unnatural twenty I think that might be my highest initiative role That's a three and that's a fifteen for Hayden first in the order is Salmi.

[SPEAKER_00]: No shit.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Let's give you know everybody give Rowan a round of applause for finding the first to be an initiative order.

[SPEAKER_00]: May chance to back you Wow May chance to pull out effect [SPEAKER_00]: Um, is it just us and this war forge bartender?

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you see the guard on the other side of the room.

[SPEAKER_03]: But the guard is still like sort of hands on use breathing heavy and sort of just fuck.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were just we were caught around in the wound.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did you not see everything that just happened there?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's gonna make a difference.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the guard saw Hayden attack, Lothric, while he was defenseless.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, hell, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, y'all, what are we doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: We're just getting out of here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are we dealing with this right now?

[SPEAKER_04]: I think the, the longer we stay, the bigger business will get into.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, alright.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're really hurt, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the, is the, yeah, is the, we're fortunate like already hurt from last time.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because they were both within my spirit guardians aura.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're so right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Bartender's not doing great.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just run up and attack the bartender then.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Had to think we should end this quickly and preferably quietly.

[SPEAKER_04]: So no fireball?

[SPEAKER_04]: No fireball.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, maybe just one for the road as we're going to help the door.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that is a thirteen and a twenty two to hit.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ooh, the twenty two definitely hits.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that is fifteen damage.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's already not looking great.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Next is Barabas.

[SPEAKER_03]: Barabas gets up.

[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't have his gun since you all checked your weapons at the door.

[SPEAKER_03]: So he says, let's get out of here.

[SPEAKER_03]: This whole casino is going to fall on our heads.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I think metaphorically, not literally.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's a metaphor.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, everyone is going to attack.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, come on.

[SPEAKER_04]: uh...

and he titles it out the door uh...

loathrick spins his turn screaming great as well he should uh...

hidden it is your turn well the first thing i'm gonna do is collect loathrick's fancy little weapon off the floor with a lucky shot yes i've had my own that from the stop [SPEAKER_04]: I will flick a copper coin over to Low Thric.

[SPEAKER_04]: For your troubles, see you later.

[SPEAKER_04]: Actually, hopefully not.

[SPEAKER_03]: It just bounces off his face.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, and glitter, glitter baby, and I, I tell it out.

[SPEAKER_03]: Great, you head out.

[SPEAKER_03]: Next is the guard who says, fuck it, I'm already getting fired and she ducks into the bathroom.

[SPEAKER_03]: Next is the bartender.

[SPEAKER_03]: She's gonna turn and attack you, Solomon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, we don't have to do this.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, and Mrs.

Great.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, why it is your turn?

[SPEAKER_02]: You got that Miss Solomon?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh no, we're getting the hell out of dodge.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, uh, why it's gonna run out of the room and take a, you know, see what's going on outside.

[SPEAKER_03]: You run down the steps and join Barabas and Hayden at the foot of the steps and Barabas' shit.

[SPEAKER_03]: And you look and the patrons of the Guilden literally are running out screaming as four large automatons walk towards you across the room.

[SPEAKER_03]: They're on the far side of the room right now, but they are slowly advancing.

[SPEAKER_03]: Each of them has this blocky appearance and in their chest, [SPEAKER_03]: are seem to be three almost wheels that spin.

[SPEAKER_03]: Their right arm is massive.

[SPEAKER_03]: As if it is built for beaten the shit out of people.

[SPEAKER_03]: Are they near each other?

[SPEAKER_03]: They are spread out across the room, but they make a line across the room and are slowly advancing.

[SPEAKER_02]: And are there, is there any way out?

[SPEAKER_02]: Or are they blocking the ways out?

[SPEAKER_03]: You see between the middle two, the door out, the front door.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why it's gonna cast sanctuary on himself with his bonus action and start to glow with a little red fire energy.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's gonna use his passion to dash towards the door between them.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, you're going to take attacks of opportunity from the middle two.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sanctuary though, so they're with disadvantage or or actually what the hell does sanctuary do?

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that is a wisdom save and on a failed save, they have to choose a new target or lose the attack.

[UNKNOWN]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_03]: Wait, okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: So they have to both make wisdom saves if they're going to try and hit you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, boy.

[SPEAKER_03]: I was thinking this was going to be fun fight.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's a failure.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that's a failure.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why it slaps him on the thigh as he runs out.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you just run right by them.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why just cheeses it?

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not allowed in a casino.

[UNKNOWN]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Great.

[SPEAKER_03]: I won't report this.

[SPEAKER_03]: Solome, it is your turn.

[SPEAKER_00]: Damn it all, this bartender's still here.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to get in a fight with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm getting out of here too.

[SPEAKER_00]: This bartender's not totally worth my time at this point.

[SPEAKER_00]: Great.

[SPEAKER_00]: No opportunity to attack because it's a range weapon.

[SPEAKER_03]: No opportunity attack.

[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bono.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, the drink's very good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Keep up the good work.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I run out the door, see the Atomoton situation, and then just cheese it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I want to take a full dash.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to try to get out too.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you are going to take a tax of opportunity from the middle, too?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's fine, I think.

[SPEAKER_00]: I, I would cast sanctuary as well, but I don't think I want to use this puzzle.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right now.

[SPEAKER_03]: Great.

[SPEAKER_03]: As you, uh, as you run by them, you see the wheels on their chests begin to spin.

[SPEAKER_05]: Hmm.

[SPEAKER_03]: One of them comes up with two, two, with two sevens.

[SPEAKER_03]: It comes up seven seven and then like a lemon.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that one rolls a twenty five to hit.

[SPEAKER_00]: That'll hit.

[SPEAKER_03]: That does twenty seven points of watching.

[SPEAKER_03]: Awesome.

[SPEAKER_03]: With two sevens.

[SPEAKER_03]: It smashes you on the way back.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so all of my just kind of like buckles down under her shield a little bit and keeps running.

[SPEAKER_03]: You run past the casino bots.

[SPEAKER_03]: Next in the order is Barabas.

[SPEAKER_03]: Hayden.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: Barabas is gone.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, when you say gone, you don't know where he went.

[SPEAKER_03]: You ran a little bit in front of him.

[SPEAKER_03]: You turn around.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's not there.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is this something I should care about?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I like that.

[SPEAKER_03]: On low-thrix turn, you just hear screaming in the distance.

[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.

[SPEAKER_03]: Paiden, the, the, the slato-matans turn to you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, slato-matans.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: I had a whole stat block for me.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's not on.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're very, very cool.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: If you don't defeat them here, they're just going to keep following you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, great.

[SPEAKER_03]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_04]: Peyton looks across of the two, because you know about toys to attack.

[SPEAKER_04]: Close their eyes, put two fingers in their mouth, whistle, and then point, and a circle of sparkles rolls up and turns into a spiritual raccoon.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I cast some in beast.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm just gonna send that thing to start flipping tables and messing with machines and just causing the general rookies.

[SPEAKER_04]: This has got critters loose in here.

[SPEAKER_04]: More active chaos going on that they can focus on instead of following us.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then I'll hook it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, not at know you can make little crannies like that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, I've ever seen one in real life.

[SPEAKER_03]: This, this raccoon, okay, like appears.

[SPEAKER_03]: You establish it now, we're saying raccoon pops out in mid-air, like partway through an attack, like [SPEAKER_03]: All four claws extended and immediately lands on the face of one of the Atomatans.

[SPEAKER_03]: You run past them because they don't have other attacks of opportunity.

[SPEAKER_03]: You run past them out the door.

[SPEAKER_03]: You leave.

[SPEAKER_03]: You all leave.

[SPEAKER_00]: Shit, y'all.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where the hell is Bravis?

[SPEAKER_03]: You hear the angry sounds of slot machines behind you as you stand outside the casino.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we're not standing outside.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're running.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we're leaving.

[SPEAKER_03]: You're running.

[SPEAKER_03]: The people are running out of the gilded lily.

[SPEAKER_03]: You see people in the street stopping and looking at the casino as people are running out of it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Confused.

[SPEAKER_03]: You see a bunch of armed guards running towards the casino, but past you because they don't know who they're looking for.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I think we just get the hell out of here.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Liz definitely get off of this level, go a little bit deeper into the city, try not to be seen.

[SPEAKER_03]: As you are beginning to run away, Hayden, yes, you hear a voice in your head.

[SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.

[SPEAKER_03]: That says a message from Lysander.

[SPEAKER_04]: I will accept.

[SPEAKER_03]: And it says, [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry to contact you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Please return immediately.

[SPEAKER_03]: I must speak with you in solemnly.

[SPEAKER_03]: Danger.

[SPEAKER_03]: If one owner is there, tell her I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_03]: Please.

[SPEAKER_04]: Y'all, I need to get to it.

[SPEAKER_04]: One owner's place.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Does everyone think that they could find their way there separately?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, you best.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why, you go back the way we came.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hayden, you and I find a different way there.

[SPEAKER_00]: May you all back there.

[SPEAKER_03]: We'll do.

[SPEAKER_03]: You all three split up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think so, I think it makes us a little bit harder to follow, like if they send people after us.

[SPEAKER_04]: If we're doing that anyway, how far out of the way is the train station?

[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, it is at the front of town.

[SPEAKER_03]: Winona's apartment is on the second level, so you would run down to the first level and then back up to the second level.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is out of your way.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're trying to redirect these guys anyway, so I'll do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm always going to cast invisibility on Wyatt and say, go straight there, try not to make a lot of noise.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'll go a circuitous way back.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wyatt, hush.

[SPEAKER_00]: Catch one of those next time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Damn it, some people's children.

[SPEAKER_03]: God, Wyatt, you've turned invisible.

[SPEAKER_03]: You can't see your own hands.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is this weird thing where like you look down and where you've always seen a body, you can't anymore.

[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a little disorienting.

[SPEAKER_03]: Wyatt throws up a little bit.

[SPEAKER_03]: You throw up and as soon as it leaves your mouth, it becomes visible.

[SPEAKER_03]: So there is just this visible stream of vomit.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, this is the first, I've never been invisible before, it feels really weird.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's be fair, this is not the first unexplained vomit in the middle of the street in Echo.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, why it, you, you teeter down the steps.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Solomon, why it takes off.

[SPEAKER_03]: Hayden takes off.

[SPEAKER_03]: You start to take off and you feel something pressed in your back.

[SPEAKER_00]: Shit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Travis, let you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Do you mean that stuff you said about Jameson?

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you mean what stuff I said about Jameson?

[SPEAKER_03]: You're not out to kill them.

[SPEAKER_03]: But you will if you must.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Honey, of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I know that the three daily arrow has a lot to say, but I'm not the kind of monster that they're painting me out to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: At least I'm trying not to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, you said you're after a runaway, Jameson.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna have to be more specific.

[SPEAKER_03]: I have to.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like you to be.

[SPEAKER_03]: You feel the gun move away from your back.

[SPEAKER_00]: I turn around, then look at him.

[SPEAKER_03]: He stands in the shadows.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on with you, Barabas?

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have the shitty and grinble into said you would.

[SPEAKER_00]: What happened to you?

[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks, change.

[SPEAKER_03]: If you want to know the truth, [SPEAKER_03]: I was hired to protect Theo.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can I roll inside?

[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty-one.

[SPEAKER_03]: He stairs you dead in the eyes, he says this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Protect him.

[SPEAKER_00]: From me?

[SPEAKER_03]: Are you surprised?

[SPEAKER_00]: A little, but not for the reason you'd think.

[SPEAKER_00]: Between you and me, I didn't know they cared about him that much.

[SPEAKER_03]: Protect him from the woman who killed one of his brothers and declared war on the other two.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't the one to Claire and Ward on.

[SPEAKER_03]: They don't see it like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course they don't.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, can we walk and talk?

[SPEAKER_00]: I had got somewhere to be.

[SPEAKER_03]: You walk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look, Mr.

Bartle, that is, and Luther Wainwright, I don't know if you know that fella, he's a kind of a, I don't know, pointed nose fella with a little baby mustache.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's dead now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, hey, and that is staged in attack on a train.

[SPEAKER_00]: They sunk a town.

[SPEAKER_00]: They turn providence against itself to justify an invasion of the badlands.

[SPEAKER_00]: They did this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they showed up to Twin River with their so-called peacemaker.

[SPEAKER_00]: They expected this not to be war?

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't kill Thaddeus because I wanted to.

[SPEAKER_00]: I killed Thaddeus because my family was dying and he would let him to keep the other side of his bed warm.

[SPEAKER_03]: Listen, my last name ain't Jameson.

[SPEAKER_03]: You ain't got to explain yourself to me.

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you what you want to know.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm here protecting Theo.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you do anything else?

[SPEAKER_00]: You just his personal bodyguard.

[SPEAKER_03]: Tell the payment to do something else.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know where he is?

[SPEAKER_03]: I have a guess.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, did they?

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Depends on if I feel like you're telling the truth or not.

[SPEAKER_00]: Truth be told, Theo might be the only brother in law I have that I kind of like.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now that is against my better judgment, mind you, I don't want to feel that way, but he is frustratingly decent.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, how'd rather you not have it out for him?

[SPEAKER_03]: Like I said, I don't have it out for him.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm paid to protect him.

[SPEAKER_00]: You said they're paying you with your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's that mean?

[SPEAKER_03]: As you are saying this, you're starting to round the corner.

[SPEAKER_03]: to where uh...

when onus apartment is and he says we don't know each other well enough for that he points at the jade hairpin he says you may you my sister might be familiar but we ain't every action has a motive even saving town is sometimes the motive is just to save a town mr.

Bartle how come yanks and a message for your sister should have been looking all over hell and back for you [SPEAKER_03]: He pauses to think about that one.

[SPEAKER_03]: He says, I'm doing this for us.

[SPEAKER_03]: Anything beyond that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Again, ain't anything you need to be concerned about.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I will not ask any follow-up questions besides, without telling me too much, is there anything I can do to help you?

[SPEAKER_00]: as someone who's been put in some tricky situations by the Jameson Brothers, I know how challenging that can be.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know how impossible it can feel to get out.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're in a bond, I would like to help you out.

[SPEAKER_03]: He sighs and says, well, if you ever decide to feel murderous towards theo, take a deep breath, let it go.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have no intentions, Mr.

Bartel.

[SPEAKER_03]: Hayden.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: You are making your way to the train station.

[SPEAKER_04]: I will cast a long strider on myself to get there a little faster.

[SPEAKER_03]: You are getting there a little faster.

[SPEAKER_03]: In about the time it's taking Barabas and Solome to get to Winona's apartment, you are getting to the train station.

[SPEAKER_03]: you skip down the steps to at a time, not out of joy, but out of just a dron on.

[SPEAKER_03]: As you do, you pass the bar towards the front of Echo, and you hear, hey, kid.

[SPEAKER_04]: God, I do not have time for you, a cauldron right now.

[SPEAKER_03]: Corridor's bodyguard slash translator, gore.

[SPEAKER_03]: comes forward and says, you're running, I take it the job didn't go as planned.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it, it was going real well until things went incredibly topsy-turvy.

[SPEAKER_03]: Fuck, are we made?

[SPEAKER_04]: You aren't exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: But low-thrick is missing an arm and is under some kind of supernatural control by the half-aluten whatever the fuck facts.

[SPEAKER_04]: Shit.

[SPEAKER_04]: So chew on that for a while, I'm gonna run.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, um, you start to turn away, he says, okay, well, we'll figure this out.

[SPEAKER_03]: If you can take out facts, do what?

[SPEAKER_04]: Sure, I'll put it on my to-do list.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, um, we'll find you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Go.

[SPEAKER_03]: And he steps back into the shadows.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I'll be rude.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just very late for a train.

[SPEAKER_03]: you run to the station.

[SPEAKER_03]: A man in a little conductor sort of button down uniform is closing the gate and locks it as you approach.

[SPEAKER_04]: he says oh sorry all trains left for the night oh no excuse me my friend I I don't mean to interrupt your worker anything you're probably heading home for the night but I was wondering if you might have seen a potential passenger board the eight o'clock train well a good amount of them which uh a lot of people leave an echo these days [SPEAKER_03]: Do you have a name?

[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have a description?

[SPEAKER_03]: I know she's like entitled on other.

[SPEAKER_03]: Is it someone you know?

[SPEAKER_04]: It is.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, she's she's about my age.

[SPEAKER_04]: She has long curly red hair.

[SPEAKER_04]: We were supposed to ball the train together, but I missed my apartment to meet her.

[SPEAKER_04]: I just want to know if she got on the train or not.

[SPEAKER_03]: Where did she, I did see a girl, sort of hung around the gate for a little bit.

[SPEAKER_03]: Red hair?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's right.

[SPEAKER_03]: Sort of a, what do you call it, a bob?

[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of those cuts, the girls are doing these days.

[SPEAKER_00]: What about this, sort of a couple of days?

[SPEAKER_03]: One of those things in style these days.

[SPEAKER_03]: I saw a girl like that sort of, [SPEAKER_03]: Lordering about the gate for a minute, and I wanted to come over and see if she was okay, but...

Well, I turned to help another passenger onto the train, I turned back as she was gone.

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if she made it onto the train, and I don't know if she ran off.

[SPEAKER_03]: It seemed like she was waiting on somebody, though.

[SPEAKER_03]: I guess that was you.

[SPEAKER_04]: I guess so.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you, Kyle and Leo.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, gentlemen in Scotland, do you have fantastic facial hair?

[SPEAKER_04]: You have a good night.

[SPEAKER_03]: He says, oh, well, um, I hope you find your friend.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_04]: I hope so too.

[SPEAKER_03]: Seems like, uh, well, yeah, seems like she's down, downrat worried.

[SPEAKER_03]: So I hope to see what you do find each other.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard enough to have a close friend these days.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I've been to your ear.

[SPEAKER_03]: If she ever comes back, is there a place I should turn her to?

[SPEAKER_03]: Is there a way to get into contact?

[SPEAKER_04]: You know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: If you run into a much I don't expect you will.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let it know I was looking for her and I'll find her again.

[SPEAKER_04]: I found her before.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I hope you enjoyed this cryptic interaction.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna run away now.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, well, I have a safe night.

[SPEAKER_03]: You do.

[SPEAKER_03]: He goes back to locking up the train station.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I just make a big loop and start coming back around to level two.

[SPEAKER_03]: You start and back.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why it?

[SPEAKER_03]: You're invisible.

[SPEAKER_03]: You are actually the first to make it back.

[SPEAKER_03]: And as you round the corner to Winona's apartment, you see Davy sitting on the front steps, ringing his hands.

[SPEAKER_03]: He is looking down the street and either direction as if expecting someone.

[SPEAKER_02]: around a corner, why it does an action to get out of invisibility.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then turns back around goes, oh, hey, Davey, what are you doing here?

[SPEAKER_03]: Davey immediately jolt's up and says, why it?

[SPEAKER_03]: I was looking for you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Can we talk?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, totally.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, he looks back at Winona's house.

[SPEAKER_03]: Is it can we like talk not like right here?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just one of his head around the corner.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: You start to head around the corner as he does.

[SPEAKER_03]: He says, um, okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: He starts to say this as if it were memorized.

[SPEAKER_03]: And he says, why a shadow has passed over my heart.

[SPEAKER_03]: And I feel [SPEAKER_03]: like it is my responsibility to let you know that I am uncomfortable with your actions.

[SPEAKER_03]: I am worried about your safety and not only your safety but your life choices.

[SPEAKER_03]: Your meeting with gangsters today was ill advised to put it lightly and I wish that you [SPEAKER_03]: I wish you would consider deterring from your current path.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then he, he looks at you and he says, I'm sorry if that was harsh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Baby.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, of course not.

[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate you telling me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: I.

Oh, God.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, go.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, you go.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, you go.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, you know after you, I already got to speak.

[SPEAKER_03]: So it's your turn.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate you telling me that something I've learned since I got to Twin River is the world isn't quite as hot and cold as we thought it was.

[SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean?

[SPEAKER_02]: I still very much want to help everybody I can, but [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes you have to weigh what you hope the outcomes of your actions are with how much they will actually help.

[SPEAKER_02]: When we just met with the gangsters, which is a wild story that I'm so excited to tell you, you'll listen.

[SPEAKER_02]: The end goal is helping so many people.

[SPEAKER_02]: And if it just means that I meet with some less than stellar types of people to make sure that hundreds, if not thousands of people are helped, I think that that's necessary.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a necessary trade.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to harm anybody ever.

[SPEAKER_02]: That doesn't deserve it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just cremating.

[SPEAKER_02]: But to do the most good, sometimes you got to do a little gray.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why it, I don't, I don't like that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Did you do it?

[SPEAKER_03]: I was there for part of that conversation.

[SPEAKER_03]: I know what they wanted from you.

[SPEAKER_03]: They wanted you to take out the leader of Echo.

[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't kill Lothor, but we found some more concerning information that he's not the boss.

[SPEAKER_03]: Is that why you didn't kill him?

[SPEAKER_03]: No, it was never when he killed somebody else instead.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not so sure that the person in charge is a person.

[SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean?

[SPEAKER_02]: I can't promise that I'll never kill anybody.

[SPEAKER_02]: I can't make that promise because there are bad people doing bad things.

[SPEAKER_02]: And you get to decide that?

[SPEAKER_03]: When if killing someone means that fifty more people are saved then yes, but then you become the person killing people.

[SPEAKER_03]: For the good of everybody, why you're not [SPEAKER_03]: You're not the person you were in school.

[SPEAKER_02]: In that town, in Thunder Pass, with preacher Cassidy, he was stealing everybody from that town.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think, got killing, do you think killing him was the right choice?

[SPEAKER_02]: Did you kill him?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_02]: He was stealing people from that town and killing them himself.

[SPEAKER_03]: I have to go home.

[SPEAKER_03]: David, no, David, wait, he starts to turn.

[SPEAKER_03]: Holds out his hands.

[SPEAKER_03]: Do you take them?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: He says, May the flame guide you.

[SPEAKER_03]: No matter where you go next.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then he turns and runs down the street.

[SPEAKER_03]: Solomon, you and Barabas walk up to Winona's door.

[SPEAKER_03]: And as you go to knock, the door comes open and Lysander is standing there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Howdy.

[SPEAKER_03]: Hey.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna intentionally not speak licenters name because I don't know that he wants it known by people from three.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll say, this is Mr.

Brebis Bartle.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was very graciously hired by your brothers to protect you from me.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, his face turns sour.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, Solomon is very sour as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Travis, would you please actually excuse us for a second?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this one wanted to have a conversation.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why Sandra looks at Barabas?

[SPEAKER_03]: And Barabas looks at you, Salt May.

[SPEAKER_03]: Give us a small nod.

[SPEAKER_03]: As if to say, I'm trusting you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I put up my hands, not touching my weapons or anything.

[SPEAKER_03]: He turns and walks down the path.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah, I close the door behind us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I'm so sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the hell's happening with him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently he's here to protect you.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, uh, sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Hayden said you wanted to talk about something?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: Um, the first, do you know where, when Ona is, I, I, I wanted to, um, I wanted to apologize for my, um, deception.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't.

[SPEAKER_00]: I truth be told I haven't even met her yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like I owe you an apology.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would have warned you a hell of a lot sooner.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't expect Titan to just come in here and blow up your spot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to give you a little time.

[SPEAKER_03]: I know that that's not important.

[SPEAKER_03]: I he starts to say something and then abruptly turns and walks to his room.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: I follow.

[SPEAKER_03]: You see him sort of instinctually start to pick up a brush and then he stops and sets it back down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Would it help you to paint while we talk?

[SPEAKER_03]: I can't.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_03]: I told you before.

[SPEAKER_03]: I dream pretty vividly and often I have to paint.

[SPEAKER_03]: I have to paint what I see.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: For the first time, I don't know that I should paint one.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, call me a contrarian, but I think that's definitely one y'all to paint.

[SPEAKER_03]: This sounds really stupid.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, it's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, can you paint the flower or something?

[SPEAKER_00]: Just to set your mind at ease a little bit.

[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot see a flower.

[SPEAKER_03]: I can't hold a flower in my mind right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I grow one and give it to him.

[SPEAKER_03]: He looks at it, he looks at you and he says, um, thank you.

[SPEAKER_03]: He sets it in a small cup of water that he uses for paints, not you, no paint is in it yet.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is clear water, uh, unused.

[SPEAKER_03]: He sets it in there and then starts to paint the flower.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is very deliberate and it's almost a little clumsy as if he's not used to painting with this site.

[SPEAKER_03]: He says, I'm scared.

[SPEAKER_03]: of what I'm seeing.

[SPEAKER_03]: And I've painted things that were odd and I didn't understand before.

[SPEAKER_03]: And what's confusing is I don't know why I'm scared of this.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a map.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then what happens next is so quick that you almost don't believe it happens.

[SPEAKER_03]: With no warning, a large, for lack of better words, whole, tears open behind Lysander.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh?

[SPEAKER_03]: It shimmers, and he is pulled through with a...

[SPEAKER_03]: The last thing you see before the whole closes is a gaping cavernous mod, twisted in a grin, lined with wicked hooked teeth.

[SPEAKER_03]: Above it, a massive hot imber cat's eye.

[SPEAKER_03]: And as the whole starts to seal, you see other eyes begin to appear around it.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then the whole seals.

[SPEAKER_03]: The only sound in the room is the paintbrush dropping to the ground.

[SPEAKER_00]: Damn it, facts.

[SPEAKER_00]: Shit, shit, shit, shit, there's no trace of life-enter anywhere.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's gone.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's not here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Damn it, I was just starting to lack you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I...

First thing I'm gonna do is kind of a weirdo that I'm gonna collect a couple of his brushes.

[SPEAKER_00]: A couple of paints, just like I'm gonna gather some supplies.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, for him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think if we run into him again, I want to be able to give them to him because it seems like they help him.

[SPEAKER_03]: You start to gather these supplies.

[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing that I do is I want to look around at the paintings he's already painted to see if I can sauce out anything from what he's already made.

[SPEAKER_03]: You look, and you do find one painting that is drastically different from the others.

[SPEAKER_03]: Most of the paintings are a sort of dreamy, impressionistic style, giving the suggestion of landscapes, people, objects.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's one of you.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's one of Hayden.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's one of Wyatt.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's one of a city of black glass.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then there's another one.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's painting style is different.

[SPEAKER_03]: Painted in broad colorful strokes, edges sharper, clearer.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a portrait of a man.

[SPEAKER_03]: You've never seen this man before.

[SPEAKER_03]: Dark hair, white shirt with a black tie.

[SPEAKER_03]: The extends his right hand finger pointed outward towards the horizon.

[SPEAKER_03]: His left hand is at his waist.

[SPEAKER_03]: He smiles broadly blue eyes shining beneath his horned brim to glasses.

[SPEAKER_03]: But it is what's on his shoulder that draws your attention.

[SPEAKER_03]: White gloves hands and feet.

[SPEAKER_03]: Shining red nose and large black and white eyes.

[SPEAKER_03]: Body, silver and circular.

[SPEAKER_03]: A spitting image of the amulet of rota.

[SPEAKER_03]: This little character sits on the man's shoulder, feet kicking, and looking out at the horizon with a mischievous grin on his face.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that is where we'll pick up next time.
