[SPEAKER_05]: Solomon you took on Titus and two of his bastions, and while you were able to free Barabas and remain invisible the entire fight, you were unable to recover Lycendum.

[SPEAKER_05]: Hayden you took on Cortois, who offered you a choice.

[SPEAKER_05]: Follow her through a teleportation circle for the chance to kill her, or remain behind.

[SPEAKER_05]: You stayed behind, but were able to wound her severely.

[SPEAKER_05]: Wyatt, you fought two church assassins, preventing them from abducting Davie.

[SPEAKER_05]: Cortwan, Titus, fled, the bastions were run out of echo, and Hayden and Solomon reconvened outside of Davie's house, while Wyatt checked on Davie's family inside.

[SPEAKER_05]: When we last left off, Clive had appeared, [SPEAKER_05]: where you are now, why it?

[SPEAKER_05]: You're still inside with Davy, having just explained to the three your actual life and death experience and the events that have brought you to this moment.

[SPEAKER_05]: As you've talked, you've heard voices coming from outside that you recognize as Solomon, Hayden, [SPEAKER_05]: What do you do?

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, Davey, I gotta go confront my family.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be back, hopefully.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: He smiles, and Wyatt turns around and walks outside.

[SPEAKER_05]: Clive has surrendered himself.

[SPEAKER_05]: He is not currently carrying his weapons.

[SPEAKER_05]: You see some of the foresight men have begun to appear in the street.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, it seems that one of them has found you and has alerted the others.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so there are now five or six armed guards at the end of the street, sort of watching.

[SPEAKER_07]: Mr.

Coucher, is that something we gotta worry about?

[SPEAKER_05]: They will do nothing unless I order it.

[SPEAKER_06]: Well, since while here would, would y'all like some, some coffee, maybe a biscuit or something?

[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know that we ought to get too comfortable.

[SPEAKER_07]: We still gotta figure out if Larissa killed Corridor and took the city over.

[SPEAKER_07]: But it seems like he's got your best interest at heart, so maybe you can get through doing better than we could.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think I've got it.

[SPEAKER_03]: What's our relationship like, or what was it like previously?

[SPEAKER_05]: Wyatt Clive is perhaps the person you are closest with and the foresight household.

[SPEAKER_05]: He is the one who always picks you up from school.

[SPEAKER_05]: He is the one who is there to help you.

[SPEAKER_05]: He probably taught you things like how to shave.

[SPEAKER_05]: Clive never breaks character.

[SPEAKER_05]: He's really good at his job.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so he can come across as a little cold, but he is always there for you.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why is gonna turn to Clive and start walking directly at him, determined that he's not leaving to go anywhere and [SPEAKER_03]: pulls up a flame in his hand, ready to shoot it if he needs to.

[SPEAKER_05]: You produce this flame in your hand.

[SPEAKER_05]: You watch it grow, and then, you know, when you, when you have a candle in the wind, and the flame begins to flicker, it does that.

[SPEAKER_05]: it flickers in your hand to a wind you can't feel.

[SPEAKER_05]: And then, without your control, it goes out.

[SPEAKER_03]: White pauses and...

[SPEAKER_03]: turns around and kind of shakes his hand and, like, it's like, does it come back?

[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, it's like flicking a shitty lighter.

[SPEAKER_05]: You're like, you're like, yeah, cool.

[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?

[SPEAKER_05]: Your hand sparks.

[SPEAKER_05]: You produce a flame for a moment, and then it goes out again.

[SPEAKER_05]: And why it, for the first time since you left Thunder Pass, [SPEAKER_05]: the tingling, the burning, that you have felt of what you now know to be the flames protection, to be the flames destructive power, you feel it, lessen, just a tiny bit.

[SPEAKER_05]: And Clive says, young master Wyatt, I'm not going back, I'm needed out here, you are needed [SPEAKER_05]: Did you see those guys behind me?

[SPEAKER_05]: He looks.

[SPEAKER_07]: That was my way.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I thought you were talking about us.

[SPEAKER_06]: No.

[SPEAKER_06]: We're all together.

[SPEAKER_06]: We realize it's not a reference to us.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're like, oh, you pointed a dead body.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're behind and just wave.

[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yes, them.

[SPEAKER_03]: But more than the more the body, that was me.

[SPEAKER_03]: and a little help from, from, from those guys over there.

[SPEAKER_05]: Clive ponders this for a moment and says, and when it is not to people, when it is an army, when it is forces beyond your control, what will [SPEAKER_03]: Where were you when I fought a train that tried to destroy Twin River?

[SPEAKER_03]: Where were you when a horde of zombies and necromancers tried to destroy Thunder Pass?

[SPEAKER_03]: Where were you when we fought something that could make things pop out of its imagination?

[SPEAKER_03]: A worm, a library, a big hole in the ground?

[SPEAKER_03]: Somewhere in three, that was me and those two people.

[SPEAKER_03]: The ones that are standing up, not the ones that are lying on the ground.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's a time for us to wave now.

[SPEAKER_07]: I think we should just cut the wave in entirely.

[SPEAKER_05]: I cannot tell you what to do, but I, it is my highest priority to ensure your safety.

[SPEAKER_05]: and I will not fail again.

[SPEAKER_03]: The best place for me is out here is my new friends.

[SPEAKER_03]: What's the good point to get both Solomon and Solomon Hayden and the dead people?

[SPEAKER_07]: Now we're supposed to waive.

[SPEAKER_05]: He begins to remove his jacket.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why it smiles at this and takes a couple steps back and goes to Blast Clive with a scorching ray.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ooh, okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's a Nat 20, a 21 and a 12.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_05]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_05]: As you do it, you see him fold his hand up to his face and you see a magic shield deflect.

[SPEAKER_05]: The Nat-20 hits the 21 fails.

[SPEAKER_05]: God, that sucks.

[SPEAKER_03]: 13 fire damage.

[SPEAKER_05]: You launch fire, he is able to, he completely dodges one, throws up a shield for the second one, and the third one catches him off his left hip.

[SPEAKER_05]: How's that?

[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, he fully sprints at you.

[SPEAKER_05]: You see a quarter staff appear in his hand.

[SPEAKER_03]: The first attack I'm gonna use a warning flare to give him disadvantage.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: Should we intervene?

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't think so.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know anything about this, but I think he might be becoming a man.

[SPEAKER_06]: I like why I do not know anything about this despite a lot of testosterone among me as a child.

[SPEAKER_05]: Hey didn't straight up gasp look the corner of Clive's mouth quarks upwards Just a hair Why it your turn [SPEAKER_03]: Why, why it's gonna grab the staff off of his back and go to attack him.

[SPEAKER_03]: Ooh, okay.

[SPEAKER_03]: That is going to hit, sick.

[SPEAKER_03]: Why it's good to then, as why it hits him with the top of the staff is going to like, like, surge his energy into the staff, which like makes fire explode out of the top.

[SPEAKER_03]: So I get to do, I don't know if I've done this yet.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's been a really long time.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a magic weapon that when I hit, it gets three charges per day.

[SPEAKER_03]: And when I hit, I can use it to do it extra, to detead.

[SPEAKER_03]: We've made a fire damage to the target, and they have to make a DC-15 con save.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me what if that's gonna fail.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna win this fight.

[SPEAKER_05]: Clive catches the hitch in what you say.

[SPEAKER_07]: We can't let that get to his head.

[SPEAKER_05]: As he comes back with one HP, and it is your turn.

[SPEAKER_06]: And for probably the first timing years and years when they were testing the limits of their own abilities, [SPEAKER_06]: they're playing with creating a persona not as a disguise, not as a trick for the next job or to live through the next few minutes just to see what feels good for today.

[SPEAKER_06]: And as the stories [SPEAKER_06]: Hayden just has a whole rainbow of color, of different strands of hair, as they just soak in all these stories and all this family time.

[SPEAKER_05]: And as you do occasionally, you glance over and catch own just watching you.

[SPEAKER_05]: call and nay are so wrapped up in the stories and even whenona to an extent, but own in their own way.

[SPEAKER_05]: It was a little bit the the eldest watches.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I guess when I see folks like you and Lassander and anybody else getting taken advantage of by the Jameson family, I see an opportunity to be something that I didn't have.

[SPEAKER_05]: You can set her to this for a minute.

[SPEAKER_05]: And after a while, he says, Bill and I grew up on a ranch, the little outside three.

[SPEAKER_05]: It was us and my mom and [SPEAKER_05]: Wantin' a big ranch, didn't have a whole lot of steer.

[SPEAKER_05]: And uh, well, havein' each other weren't, they weren't enough.

[SPEAKER_05]: Bank started closing in, sent people a knocking, wanted the land.

[SPEAKER_05]: Long claws, teeth.

[SPEAKER_05]: It came on us in the night and it slaughtered.

[SPEAKER_05]: All of us wounded me, bit me.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I'd have been a goner if it [SPEAKER_05]: It burned like a paper doll in the sun.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I fled.

[SPEAKER_05]: I fled, my body ached.

[SPEAKER_05]: I stumbled my way home to find that it was no longer a home.

[SPEAKER_05]: Titus Jamison had bought the land from the bank, offered them cash compared to the slow trickle of my army savings.

[SPEAKER_05]: Signed the deal.

[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, stops.

[SPEAKER_05]: And he says, shock was too much.

[SPEAKER_04]: They'll buried my mother on that land before, before she had to leave.

[SPEAKER_05]: My sickness took then, and I started a cattle rustling gang so I could feed without suspicion.

[SPEAKER_05]: The sickness, it hollows you.

[SPEAKER_05]: Eat.

[SPEAKER_05]: You.

[SPEAKER_05]: and you must feed, to stay it off, to stay off that hunger, to stay off that man, that is not a man.

[SPEAKER_05]: I was caught, extra-dided, but those soldiers did not let me stay off that man, and so they met him.

[SPEAKER_05]: He looks up to the sky and he says, I gorge myself in their blood.

[SPEAKER_05]: So all that to say, I wish you hadn't told my sister that you'd met me.

[SPEAKER_05]: I wish you'd have told her the truth.

[SPEAKER_07]: Which is?

[SPEAKER_05]: He holds his arms wide and says, wish you'd have told her I'm dead.

[SPEAKER_07]: She doesn't know, you're sick.

[SPEAKER_05]: She knows.

[SPEAKER_07]: What did she have to say about it?

[SPEAKER_07]: Lazz like she cares about you and she can try to help you.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, I believe her when she says that.

[SPEAKER_05]: She told me last like we have time that it won't take me.

[SPEAKER_05]: But I feel it.

[SPEAKER_05]: You don't live with this feeling.

[SPEAKER_05]: This hunger that he stops.

[SPEAKER_05]: And quick as lightning, you see he holds a rat in his hands.

[SPEAKER_05]: And he clamps down into it.

[SPEAKER_05]: Blood dripping from his lips.

[SPEAKER_05]: He says, I'm going to three.

[SPEAKER_07]: What are you going to do in three?

[SPEAKER_07]: Try to take your revenge on Tattas by yourself.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to kill your ex-brother and law.

[SPEAKER_05]: And then I will greet the dawn with open arms.

[SPEAKER_05]: He turns.

[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, first of all, I owe you an apology, second of all.

[SPEAKER_07]: When I said I wanted to help you, I wouldn't just save in your life, but I want to help.

[SPEAKER_07]: My family are some of the best healers in the badlands.

[SPEAKER_07]: Probably the best.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't think I'm being talkie about that.

[SPEAKER_07]: If anybody can help with something like this, it's them.

[SPEAKER_05]: This is I an interest in false queers.

[SPEAKER_05]: Throughout your time there, the chaos has not dimmed.

[SPEAKER_05]: And as you walk out, [SPEAKER_05]: You are almost clipped by a horse dragging another man by the heel.

[SPEAKER_07]: Great.

[SPEAKER_07]: Just like how it started.

[SPEAKER_05]: Someone vomit as we pass the pickled liver.

[SPEAKER_05]: You see a man is thrown through the front window of the pickled liver again.

[SPEAKER_05]: And you make your way out of the mountains.

[SPEAKER_05]: heading south.

[SPEAKER_05]: Toward the flame.

[SPEAKER_05]: Toward the future.

[SPEAKER_05]: And toward uncertainty.

[SPEAKER_05]: somewhere far away from here, in a vast room stands a stone, circular, about three feet tall.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's largely featureless, its sides are smooth and without ornamentation.

[SPEAKER_05]: On its flat top is a symbol.

[SPEAKER_05]: a circle, interrupted by three lines, only two of which touch the circumference.

[SPEAKER_05]: There are other items in the room, a table, a few chairs, but it is the stone, simple as it may be standing in the center of the room to which the eye is drawn, and it is on this [SPEAKER_05]: The man's hair is weather-beaten and sandy, his skin cracked and dry.

[SPEAKER_05]: His frame is desperately thin, with ribs poking through what's left of his shirt.

[SPEAKER_05]: But none of this matters to him.

[SPEAKER_05]: He breathes in, extends a hand, and places it, palm down on the sigil.

[SPEAKER_05]: It begins to glow red, and ancient letters begin to light the sides of the stone in matching hue.

[SPEAKER_05]: They branch out across the room, spreading up the walls like blood flowing through long forgotten vessels.

[SPEAKER_05]: The gnome cracks a grin.

[SPEAKER_05]: Then, [SPEAKER_05]: A single word encompassing the entire wall before him flashes, and really.

[SPEAKER_05]: The arcane words filling the room flicker erratically, then retreat to the stone.

[SPEAKER_05]: As they reach the sigil it fades and the room is dark once more, save the gnome's glowing red eyes.

[SPEAKER_05]: The gnome is no longer smiling.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, come on, he snorls.

[SPEAKER_05]: Earth denumnuts, it's me, it's me, you rat-fink!

[SPEAKER_05]: He begins slapping his hand down rapidly on the stone, roaring with anger.

[SPEAKER_05]: A growl issues from a stomach and he turns his head down, screaming, Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up!

[SPEAKER_05]: The amulet in his chest pulses and a beam erupts from it completely obliterating a nearby table, and leaving only a nuclear shadow of it burned into the wall.

[SPEAKER_05]: He pants angrily, and as he does, a single word appears on the stone beneath the dark darkened sigil.

[SPEAKER_05]: He reads it, and then begins to laugh.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh...

[SPEAKER_05]: Clever girl.

[SPEAKER_05]: A parting gift for old time, mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_05]: He cracks his knuckles and says, well, no more Mr.

Nice guy.
