Ep. 297: Your Personal Car Week Legends Of The Autobahn Walk Around!

Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_04]: Hey guys, welcome to the Legends of the Autobahn.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is one of the concourses at Car Week.

[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, best known for Pebble Beach and the Concourses, the elegance.

[SPEAKER_04]: But BMW is here making some news and this is Nick.

[SPEAKER_04]: I forgot your last name, Nick Gerstner.

[SPEAKER_04]: Nick Gerstner.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he is with BMW.

[SPEAKER_04]: And Nick, you guys are here showing a brand new car.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, new to us here in the United States.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's talk about the twenty twenty six BMW M two C S.

That's right.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: So second generation C S for the M two lineup.

[SPEAKER_03]: And we can see a lot of the familiar things that we've seen with M three and M four C S.

For example, this really beautiful, more open grill with the M two C S logo with the red outline.

[SPEAKER_03]: Really has some presence and you can really see this coming up in your rearview mirror.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think she likes a tube.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: She's taken by it.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's a great future BMW customer.

[SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[SPEAKER_04]: I got probably another, you know, twenty years before she gets behind the wheel.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully, we'll send it over here.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, so let's just give people a bit of a background.

[SPEAKER_04]: So BMW speak, of course, they're the M vehicles.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then they have the competition above that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then you have the CS above that.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then there's a CSL, which is a lightweight CS, which isn't coming yet, or maybe never.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right now we just have the M.T.C.S.

[SPEAKER_03]: And again, as you mentioned, that's the top of the line M.T.

[SPEAKER_03]: right now.

[SPEAKER_03]: I guess, yeah, we could tell a little bit about it.

[SPEAKER_03]: So what have they done over the regular M.T.?

[SPEAKER_03]: We basically are engineers have really looked at the engine as glorious inline six cylinder twin turbo.

[SPEAKER_03]: We've added fifty horsepower for a total of five hundred and twenty-three.

[SPEAKER_03]: and thirty nine more pound feet of torque.

[SPEAKER_03]: So total of four seventy nine and that really gets our zero to sixty dot dot zero to sixty time down by point two seconds so we're at three point seven zero to sixty run.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now the M two is the last BW with a manual [SPEAKER_04]: Let's take a peek.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's put him in suspense.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm guessing no, because you're not going to get that much performance out of automatic as you will.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't have a manual as you will an automatic, but yes, there it is.

[SPEAKER_03]: Is that a dual clutch?

[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's our M subchronic transmission.

[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, because of the additional horsepower, this vehicle is automatically.

[SPEAKER_03]: So in order to, there's some trade-offs where if you get the increased horsepower, increased performance, yeah, we have to use our M subchronic A-speed transmission.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I noticed that you've got the sports seats with the CS logo prominently displayed, so you'll never forget what car you're in.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Nor what seat you're sitting in.

[SPEAKER_04]: I love this.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is it Alcantara?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Alcantara steering wheel with red centering mark.

[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think it's really apparent when you're getting in the car.

[SPEAKER_03]: Whether it's the door sales, as you mentioned, the emblem on the seat, the center console.

[SPEAKER_03]: We have a really cool CS logo in the carbon trim here.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, look at the lights up.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's really easy to remember what a special car this is when you get in.

[SPEAKER_03]: And in terms of pricing is a special price.

[SPEAKER_03]: It is a bargain at ninety eight thousand six hundred dollars plus destination in handling.

[SPEAKER_03]: But really this is the full M carbon package M drivers package with a hundred and eighty eight mile per hour top speed limiter.

[SPEAKER_03]: So really, and of course, all of the suspension, the driving dynamics, the stability control, has all been reworked to really give that razor's edge sharpness to this car.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, there's some really nice details.

[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, you should have carbon fiber so you can see it on the dashboard.

[SPEAKER_04]: You can see it on the tunnel there, over here on the mirrors.

[SPEAKER_04]: Or even mirrors, but I like this.

[SPEAKER_04]: I like the little BMW MOM stripes.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's really cool.

[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, let me speak of carbon.

[SPEAKER_03]: Let me show you one more thing.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's really special.

[SPEAKER_03]: So the one thing that is probably my favorite part is this beautiful ductal and the whole trunk lid is made of carbon fiber.

[SPEAKER_03]: So really lightweight.

[SPEAKER_03]: We try to get the weight from the top of the vehicle out.

[SPEAKER_03]: So push that center or gravity down and it handles a lot better for it.

[SPEAKER_03]: how much weight do you lose compared to a regular M-two?

[SPEAKER_03]: So over the M-two manual, which is the lightest M-two so far, this is a hundred pounds lighter with an automatic gearbox.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a hundred pounds lighter than the M-two manual.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a difference.

[SPEAKER_03]: How about the exhaust?

[SPEAKER_03]: A different exhaust that we have than the right normal M-two with these matte black exhaust tips and this beautiful unique carbon fiber diffuser on the back.

[SPEAKER_03]: So this is a twenty twenty-sixth.

[SPEAKER_03]: If somebody wants one of these guys, one can make sure they have it at the dealership.

[SPEAKER_03]: Run to your dealer.

[SPEAKER_03]: We started production in August.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, we should see customer deliveries in quarter three of this year.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's now.

[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, that's a run now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: And do you know this color?

[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of cool.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's purple.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is our new color unique on the M-T-C-S right now.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's called Velvet Blue.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, sweet.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's optional.

[SPEAKER_03]: So this comes in black sapphire, Brooklyn Gray, and an optional velvet blue.

[SPEAKER_03]: Who will you pop the hood?

[SPEAKER_03]: We'll look at it.

[SPEAKER_03]: We'll do it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let's do it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, we're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're gonna pop the hood.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna pop the hood [SPEAKER_03]: So, straight six.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, beautiful.

[SPEAKER_03]: Inline six, I mean, BMW is known for our engines, especially the inline sixes.

[SPEAKER_03]: Super smooth.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, super smooth.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's saying this.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm doing an interview.

[SPEAKER_04]: Can you just give me a second?

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks.

[SPEAKER_03]: Not coming in the name yet.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, this is automatic right now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good thing is going to be a social media site with millions of viewers.

[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, we know you got what you wanted.

[SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, as I was saying, BMW's netted known for our inline suggestions.

[SPEAKER_03]: Sounds beautiful.

[SPEAKER_03]: Smooth, torquey, and especially with these twin turbos on it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Each one feeding three cylinders.

[SPEAKER_03]: The response time is super quick.

[SPEAKER_03]: very responsive and just lightning fighters.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I got to say I love the wheels too.

[SPEAKER_03]: The wheels are amazing.

[SPEAKER_04]: The color is stunning and the pattern is beautiful.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the breaks of course popping underneath are also pretty emish.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's kind of a lot to my pack just in this in the fender well.

[SPEAKER_03]: So we have these beautiful bronze gold wheels, nineteen inch up front, twenty inch in the back.

[SPEAKER_03]: So that we really hone in that perfect balance.

[SPEAKER_03]: So it helps with turning and helps with overall handling on this chassis to have the two different wheel sizes.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then also we've got these are the optional carbon ceramic.

[SPEAKER_03]: I was wondering about that.

[SPEAKER_04]: You can see the kind of you know the [SPEAKER_04]: the kind of crack pattern that is usually indicative of carbon ceramics exactly.

[SPEAKER_03]: So track days are extremely fun.

[SPEAKER_03]: You'll see a great break holding up.

[SPEAKER_03]: Typical breaks of the standard breaks are the M compound breaks also very good.

[SPEAKER_03]: But if you want that just a little bit more performance out of your breaking system, this is the way to go.

[SPEAKER_03]: The carbon ceramics optional or are they different.

[SPEAKER_03]: They are optional.

[SPEAKER_03]: They run in eight thousand dollar options.

[SPEAKER_03]: I figured, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Are there any other options that you get on the CSRs of pretty much the way you see it?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean a lot of this is standard, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: Which makes it really great because there's not a lot of options that you want to pick and choose from.

[SPEAKER_03]: This car is pretty well equipped on its own.

[SPEAKER_03]: You can option to get this beautiful paint and the carbon ceramic brakes.

[SPEAKER_03]: The only other option which is no charge is the type of tire that you want.

[SPEAKER_03]: So we have a high performance tire, a track tire and an ultra track tire for the customer to select for for zero dollars.

[SPEAKER_04]: So if you want to have it as your track day car, you can get the track tires right from the factory, which is nice.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_03]: Today you get your initial M service, you can go right to the track.

[SPEAKER_04]: I have a buddy who's got current iteration into and that's his track car.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, really good track cars.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the weight balance is great and they're powerful enough to be fun, but you're not terrifying this area.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_03]: and I mean what more could you ask for a rear wheel drive you know the classic combination of sports car you can you know use the throttle to turn a little bit so you really get that control over the car that I think a lot of our our track-overs really want to see well thank you very much I really appreciate it thank you my pleasure let me grab this from you alright I still keep walking around okay all right thanks take care yeah you bet and I'm still all right there you go guys walk away the new [SPEAKER_04]: twenty twenty six and two CS and I guess the one thing that that guy pointed out that is a little disappointing is that there's no manual but if you want to make it you can you can get the regular one and the regular one the regular two starts at about sixty thousand dollars so [SPEAKER_04]: We're, you know, I'm sorry, sixty seven thousand dollars.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it's significantly cheaper.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's do this little walk around here of the legends of the Autobahn.

[SPEAKER_04]: We'll start at the BMW booth because that's where the news was made.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's take a quick walk through here or we can kind of see what cars are here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: perhaps the most interesting car as we're talking about new cars is over here and let me let me just turn off the mic so we don't get weird sound there we go and now we can do a quick walk around [SPEAKER_04]: and take a look at some from the new BMW before we had some of the older classic cars so this is an interesting car it's the new m five of course it's a plug-in hybrid and a lot of people feel like this is [SPEAKER_04]: a little too heavy to be an M car and what makes of course this one is a touring in American means it's three and this is the first time the M five station wagon and I'm hoping that this [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's one thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully for shadows of future of the three touring George coming to America as well.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I think the MW was taken aback just by how popular the touring in the M-five is.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's because they felt like the regular M-five.

[SPEAKER_04]: would be a little bit more popular.

[SPEAKER_04]: But if you look at the Audi Avant RS-Six, the Audi Station wagon, they don't even import the sedan.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess it kind of makes sense that the touring of the M-Fi would be the more popular they want.

[SPEAKER_04]: And of course what makes this the more unusual is this color.

[SPEAKER_04]: I haven't talked about it, but it's the elephant in the room.

[SPEAKER_04]: That is certainly an interesting color.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you want [SPEAKER_04]: a brown M.

Five Touring.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you want to know what it looks like there it is.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think the door is open but I can show you the interior and I have driven this.

[SPEAKER_04]: What is open?

[SPEAKER_04]: That's nice.

[SPEAKER_04]: The one thing that I didn't love about this car was the fact that it is a little bit too haptic so you can see there really no controls outside of the door controls right there but even on the door a lot of haptic controls and I just [SPEAKER_04]: getting really tired of either everything in the screen or everything being haptic and you know besides the weight of this which is quite a lot that's the one feature that I didn't love but at a hundred and twenty five thousand I think a hundred and twenty five for the touring maybe one twenty seven this is something that is certainly relatively unusual [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, there you go.

[SPEAKER_04]: Momentally M.

five touring.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's look around and let's take a step back in time.

[SPEAKER_04]: And let's look at some other BMWs.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is a regular M.

five.

[SPEAKER_04]: And this is the one that we have of course been used to.

[SPEAKER_04]: But as I'm here in BMW and I'll show you kind of my favorite M.

five.

[SPEAKER_05]: Really beautiful.

[SPEAKER_04]: M.

trees.

[SPEAKER_04]: But they have five that is near and dear to my heart.

[SPEAKER_04]: It would be this one, which I believe would be the first generation M-Five with the M-A-D-A engine out of the BMW M-One.

[SPEAKER_04]: And these cars are becoming very rare, very collectible, and very expensive.

[SPEAKER_04]: This one has German plates and old school BBS wheels.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's a driver.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I was looking at all the little nicks in the front.

[SPEAKER_04]: How cool is that?

[SPEAKER_04]: And I loved back in the day when they still had wipers on the studio.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me see if this is the owner.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you can ask me some questions about it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me turn on my microphone here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Are you the owner of this car?

[SPEAKER_04]: No?

[SPEAKER_04]: Are you the owner of this M-five?

[SPEAKER_00]: M-five, thirty five dollars.

[SPEAKER_04]: M-five, thirty five.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's not them.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's an M-five, thirty five.

[SPEAKER_04]: I.

Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, really tell me about the car.

[SPEAKER_04]: What year is it?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's nineteen eighty five.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great market imported into United States by September of nineteen eighty five.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it was a July first bill date.

[SPEAKER_00]: Originally arrived in East Coast in Maine and New Hampshire, first two honors.

[SPEAKER_00]: Third owner brought it to San Diego and did the conversion.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dining stage three suspension.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a five-speed transmission swap put into it and a larger rear end.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a three, six, four rear end.

[SPEAKER_00]: The original configuration of the car was an automatic with a three, seven rear end, which was pre-standard for it in five, three, five-by-package.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's this color.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Arctic Splash, Arctic Blue, Matao.

[SPEAKER_00]: The interior was originally Pearl Lake.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what was Carl's option.

[SPEAKER_00]: And about three years ago, I changed that to Taurus, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, so you fooled me.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I had an M.F.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.I.V.V.I.V.V.V.V.V.V.

[SPEAKER_00]: This motor is extended M-Thirty B-Thirty Four, which will stand up for all the BMWs in the five series.

[SPEAKER_00]: This motor, however, is the high compression dirty motor, so it's the two hundred and eighteen horsepower versions, and it's non-catalogs.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, Vincent, I have a question for you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Would you like an M-Thirty Eight?

[SPEAKER_00]: That depends.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a loaded question, but yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I say that.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I bought this car and I was going to engine swap it for an M-E-D-H.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then it was taking such a long time and it was beginning so horrendously expensive that I decided to buy an M-Six in the meantime.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I bought an M-Six and then sold this car.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I have the M-E-D-H engine.

[SPEAKER_04]: So now I have an M-E-D-H without a car.

[SPEAKER_00]: we'll talk if not me there are many people that would actually for driving I honestly I like the standard M-thirty B-thirty four better for driving you know with with the higher compression [SPEAKER_00]: It's a very tight motor.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a very forgiving motor.

[SPEAKER_00]: The cruising speed Davis is really nice around town.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's really quite nice.

[SPEAKER_04]: When I bought the M-Six, that had the S-S-T-T-E-A-W-E.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is configuration of the one next to the other there.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so also about the immediately was a dry sum.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because it was the same engine out of the M-One M, sorry.

[SPEAKER_04]: One M, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, so now I don't have the car, but I haven't engine.

[SPEAKER_04]: So if you want, I'll come by and I'll give you my card and if somebody wants an MADA.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're kind of unusual now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do you want an immediate engine?

[SPEAKER_04]: Are you in the market for an immediate?

[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, if it's cheap enough.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because I have one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Are you in Holland?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in Holland.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm in Colorado.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're actually heading to Colorado.

[SPEAKER_01]: Today, are you dreaming?

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh nice, you love it, drink is beautiful.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I was saying I had this car and I bought the MEDA to convert it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then I sold the car before I did it.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's exact car.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, my was the JDM, but the same model.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it was right hand drive.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyways, nice meeting you guys.

[SPEAKER_04]: By anyway working hard to sell my engine I don't know how much it's worth but if you're out there and you want an MEDA I have one and there is one caveat and that is the engine is completely taken apart Unfortunately, but I have all the pieces so you're gonna have to build it because I can't give up on it I had it [SPEAKER_04]: I had it pretty much reboard and got the wiring harness for it and just didn't want to go through the process of building it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, so if you want to immediate this in bits and pieces but complete.

[SPEAKER_04]: with all the bolts and even the wiring harness I have it sitting in our barn.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's keep going.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll tell you a quick story as we walk around some more of these BMWs.

[SPEAKER_04]: So this is my second time here.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you've guys been following us at TFL for a while, you'll know that...

Gosh, thirteen, fourteen years ago, I had a friend who was...

[SPEAKER_04]: kind of coordinating the [SPEAKER_04]: Pebble Beach, concourse, the elegance, and he told me that they were doing other automotive journalists, that they were doing a touch request.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I said to them, I will buy a touchra in Prague, and I will drive it all the way to Table Beach.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he said, oh, we're only doing pre-war touchra.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, no worries.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm still going to drive it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll make for a good video series.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's exactly what I did.

[SPEAKER_04]: I bought it really great.

[SPEAKER_04]: a touch of a six-on-three.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look it up, it's a beautiful car.

[SPEAKER_04]: From the sixties, drove it to Bremerhaven from Prague, put on a boat, and picked it up and bolted more, and Nathan myself and Emmy drove it all the way across.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is M-three, they'll hear by the way.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look at all these M-trees.

[SPEAKER_04]: B-thirty-sixes, drove it all the way to Pebble Beach.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then, at the end, ended up showing it here at Lidges of the Autobahn, because Pebble Beach would not have us.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then, of course, made the decision, that's as a friend of mine, to invite post-war touchers.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he thought I was not being serious about driving one across country.

[SPEAKER_04]: So he invited his guy from Canada.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the one that I bought back then, at least, they were still brought to the affordable.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, twenty-five thousand dollars.

[SPEAKER_04]: and it was a kind of a rotisserie rotisserie renovation so it was pristine and pure and it was hard back then to let me go to the front of these so you're not looking at the at the back end of the six thirty five csi [SPEAKER_04]: BMWs, I think the title sponsor, so that's why we're seeing so many BMWs here.

[SPEAKER_04]: But this is a lot more BMWs.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me go back and kind of get some cars that aren't BMWs, maybe the film Mercedes, from the other German cars that are here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, car was pristine, and it was hard to get touchers all these eight series.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was hard to get touchers of the [SPEAKER_04]: They were corrected, breached it because they were never sold.

[SPEAKER_04]: They were given to the Communist Party officials with the driver.

[SPEAKER_04]: Then whenever official was done with officiating, they would go back to the factory and then they would get refurbished.

[SPEAKER_04]: give him back to the next official.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, here we go.

[SPEAKER_04]: One am.

[SPEAKER_04]: Remember I was just talking about it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Next to an I said a tummy.

[SPEAKER_04]: He said a video I said anyway.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm here showing my car and the guy who was his Canadian guy who flew it down from Canada.

[SPEAKER_04]: His his six or three.

[SPEAKER_04]: He comes up to me and he goes, oh, your car is perfect.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, yeah, oh, yeah, it's perfect.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was going to show it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he said, you've got the right wheels.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, yes, of course I have the right wheels because [SPEAKER_04]: You have to be a real Tetris XO III, aficionado, to another right wheels.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he said, goodbye.

[SPEAKER_04]: I said, no, you can't buy him.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, I end up selling that Tetris XO of Museum in Boston.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's still up there.

[SPEAKER_04]: But so this is where they made it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then originally came from this BMW M-One.

[SPEAKER_04]: When I was a kid, [SPEAKER_04]: I remember this was kind of my dream car and for a long time they were somewhat affordable.

[SPEAKER_04]: They were, you know, sixty, seventy, eighty thousand other cars and now of course they're not.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how much they go for currently but it's BMW's [SPEAKER_04]: first and some argue only uh super car so really beautiful car all right well let's keep going we're already twenty one minutes into the video and uh maybe we can get away from this announcer so we can have a better sense of uh not a beautiful car too have a better sense of uh one of the cars are here in the zoom and just a little bit give you a tighter view uh but certainly [SPEAKER_04]: If you love German adult meals, this is the week to be here on the Monterey Peninsula.

[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll take a quick walk.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if I miss some cars that you guys are interested in, I apologize.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's just so much here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look at the exhaust on that guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do it in the track car.

[SPEAKER_04]: But let's go over here and take a look at one of my favorites, which isn't exactly the original of the other bomb, but it's certainly a legend.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's the G-Lag and Square, so we'll head over to Mercedes and see what they're showing.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what the Range Rover is doing here.

[SPEAKER_04]: I guess you could take it on the Autobahn.

[SPEAKER_04]: It seems a little odd, and it's starting to rain a little bit.

[SPEAKER_04]: If the lens gets a little cloudy, it's because you've got a little bit of a mist happening here coming off the Pacific Ocean.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's take a look at these Jewagans.

[SPEAKER_04]: So here's kind of my dream car.

[SPEAKER_04]: The four by four squared.

[SPEAKER_04]: I did a video with this in Moab.

[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, let me zoom out again so you can get a better look at this.

[SPEAKER_04]: Quite the car.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I feel like I'm at the oral and export right now.

[SPEAKER_04]: You've got a G-Wagon done up for overlating.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my, look at all of the fun stuff and our sponsor.

[SPEAKER_04]: On Exoff Road, also sponsors this car.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's funny, you don't see a lot of gee wagons off-road.

[SPEAKER_04]: I did see one when I was running a fear pass a few years ago.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was black on black on black and the couple was from California.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had a rooftop tent, they were also dressed in black, but I kind of feel like Mercedes did it.

[SPEAKER_04]: right with portal axles and the percent one makes the port by force squared so unique and that is it's got these you can see them it's got these portal axles under there and what portal axles do is hiding behind the ash plate is they allow you to raise the vehicle in this case several inches without actually and this is a previous genocourse without [SPEAKER_04]: changing the geometry.

[SPEAKER_04]: When you lift the car, you tend to change the geometry the way that the half shafts are in the way the suspension works and so you tend to make it much better off-road because you're going to get more ground clearance but you tend to make it much worse on-road.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good for off-road, not so good for off-road.

[SPEAKER_04]: This looks like a promise.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe not, it's urban, but yeah, this is a G-wagon with wheels that are stuffed out to the edge of wheel wells.

[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, it's a matte black as a G-wagon should be.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, interesting contrast between the off-road and the on-road.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty amazing that you can have a warm car.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can't think of any other car at top of my head right now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me know in the comments below.

[SPEAKER_04]: That has such a...

[SPEAKER_04]: giant breadth of use right so obviously legends of the Autobot Autobot Werner it's quite comfortable on that and then you can take it off road with your triple actors or you can have the gram or the four by four squared for all the influences out there and it does it all right show you take a look at the Mercedes now when I walked here [SPEAKER_04]: From my car, I noticed a lot of SLSs and SLRs.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think, of course, the second or D-Wagon.

[SPEAKER_04]: The second you put going doors, and a car, especially a car with a history of going doors, it makes it iconic.

[SPEAKER_04]: And here you go.

[SPEAKER_04]: It also makes it hard to get in and out of it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just saying, I have an I-A.

[SPEAKER_04]: What we have an I-A.

[SPEAKER_04]: And speaking of the I-A, as we're walking through here and looking at some of these beautiful classic Mercedes kind of win the S class.

[SPEAKER_04]: was the, this is the Mercedes-Benz II-II-S-E-B completely restored.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was a nice little memoir of how it was taken apart and put back together.

[SPEAKER_04]: This was when I think the Mercedes-Benz, these are the sixties, was the standard of the world when it came to luxury sedans.

[SPEAKER_04]: I do love the matching.

[SPEAKER_04]: pub caps.

[SPEAKER_04]: They go along with the same color of the car.

[SPEAKER_04]: And here we have one that looks like it's an art car.

[SPEAKER_04]: BMW of course is known for doing art cars.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what this is.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry if I don't know all these cars guys.

[SPEAKER_04]: I am more up to date on modern vehicles than I am on an older cars but this car Dave Tobin transform his name Mercedes Bench from just an old car to a piece of rolling art.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, rolling art.

[SPEAKER_04]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_04]: with a lot of classic Mercedes Benzams.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess that is rolling out.

[SPEAKER_05]: I keep walking through here.

[SPEAKER_04]: I am a sucker for these classic Mercedes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I see something crazy over there.

[SPEAKER_04]: I gotta go check this out.

[SPEAKER_04]: Especially when you slam this era of as class case has one of these actually, but even that it looks so cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's just so cool when you slam it.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, there's an SLR.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is a one crazy, two crazy cars.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's look at this guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now I've heard from people of Germany's that they're [SPEAKER_04]: a little bit more show than go but this is a little bit of a little bit of a storm trooper you can see the storm trooper helmet I was gonna say mac one from speed racer because of those dual I guess they're windows I don't know [SPEAKER_04]: Cannot piece maybe right there on the color a little bit of speed racer to this but I think they went for stormtrooper and then over here You have I don't get this guy shots.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry and over here you have another crazy one with the engine showing the S Club New Ford Beach must be a customizer [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm not going to even read that out loud, but you're welcome to read that.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you want, certainly has the attitude for what is written on there.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then the car that that's club LA, yeah, figured it's LA.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you're going to have an SLR, it can't just be regular SLR can, and it's got to be S-Club, and that club that's clubbed at the K, of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then of course, the most interesting one is somebody's taken an old [SPEAKER_04]: SL and electrified it with some people may say is maybe a little too wrong I don't know [SPEAKER_04]: Not cool, but I kind of like it, especially when they made this into a wide body.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, these cars, these first gen SLS are, uh, three hundred SLS are, you know, gallblings are probably one point five, two million, uh, and the convertibles are one, one, two, one, to one point five, and then to take it and electrified is, uh, [SPEAKER_04]: You can tell it's electrified and it's got a Tesla port.

[SPEAKER_04]: Holy cow, there they're hopping.

[SPEAKER_04]: Don't know what that is.

[SPEAKER_04]: Guessing it's a subwoofer.

[SPEAKER_04]: But if you're wondering what it looks like originally, it's right here with that incredible blood red interior and [SPEAKER_04]: spare tire in the back.

[SPEAKER_04]: And of course these cars were the first, I think you can argue that these were the first super cars back in the fifties.

[SPEAKER_04]: The absolute spectacular.

[SPEAKER_04]: One thing that doesn't actually seem rain might be the first time.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's ever seen rain.

[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it's absolutely beautiful.

[SPEAKER_04]: The one thing I've heard, and I haven't driven one of these, [SPEAKER_04]: from people actually have driven him.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is it they get pretty hot?

[SPEAKER_04]: And those windows that he's putting back in, you want to keep those out because they do get pretty warm.

[SPEAKER_04]: I suspect the electric one might have air conditioning.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's getting a lot trouble, Dr.

Feyn, why not throw some air conditioning?

[SPEAKER_04]: And not a big fan of when you change the headlights on a car.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is kind of the thing here, but it's kind of like changing the [SPEAKER_04]: eyes on a person.

[SPEAKER_04]: It certainly makes it look unique, but it also kind of dates it very quickly.

[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, somebody certainly spent a lot of time offered and done a lot of interesting things with the one-nine DSL in this case, now the convertible.

[SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't Japan really this year.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't mean to be name dropping, and I went to the Tokyo Auto.

[SPEAKER_04]: So when I knew it was called, basically it's like the scene of Tokyo, and there was a company there called Liberty Walk, and they did a lot of cool things.

[SPEAKER_04]: They took like a F- Forty Ferrari, and they wide-bodied, and they slammed it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of people would have thought that that is very sacralidious, but I had to say I loved it.

[SPEAKER_04]: They actually had a graffiti artist working on one of the cars during the show.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I just loved it because it's seeking something that is, you know, old and classic and making it modern and relevant.

[SPEAKER_04]: So here's a three hundred SL boy, a three hundred ring now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here's a three hundred SL that is original.

[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of people think that originality is where it's had because they're only so many of these cars.

[SPEAKER_04]: And when you convert them into something like back there, they're kind of taking away from what Mercedes-Benz design.

[SPEAKER_04]: But I kind of like it because at some point, the people who have before these are old.

[SPEAKER_04]: and I'm giving you that age not that I can afford it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I love the bugs on the front.

[SPEAKER_04]: This has been driven here.

[SPEAKER_04]: How cool is that?

[SPEAKER_04]: But you're taking something that is kind of old and not that relevant and making it fun and new and interesting again.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're losing a time capsule effect, but there's probably plenty of others that are still time capsules.

[SPEAKER_04]: So maybe like kind of modernizing a few of them.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's not such a horrible thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that was Mercedes World here at Legends of the Autobahn.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm going to be here all week to where I'm going to the quail and it's going to be a lot of cars being unveiled at the quail.

[SPEAKER_04]: Most of them cars that probably most people that watch this video and I don't mean to this you guys if you're very rich.

[SPEAKER_04]: Congratulations.

[SPEAKER_04]: But let's face it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Most of us can't afford stuff to be shown at the quail.

[SPEAKER_04]: But that kind of what makes it fun, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: You get to see the eye candy that a lot of people [SPEAKER_04]: are lucky enough to afford.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, here we are, of course, in Audi, but the one car speaking of cars that we can afford, they caught my eye, wasn't as crotch-ro.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was my Eastern European heritage, who is this tripant right here.

[SPEAKER_04]: You on this tripant?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Can I get a quick interview with you?

[SPEAKER_04]: Hold on.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let me turn this mic on.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had to say, I kind of feel like this is my favorite car here.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_04]: And there's a reason for that because I used to live in Prague and I used to drive this because my uncle had one.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, you're big like me.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the first problem I remember was trying to drive a trip on.

[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, I'm Roman with TFL.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Matthias, nice to meet you, Matthias.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is that I didn't fit in it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I almost had to sit in the back seat to drive this thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you fit in there?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no problem.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of headroom.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: But without modifying the front seat, you kind of feel like a pretzel in there.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I've had to, I removed the stops and I was able to just [SPEAKER_02]: put the seat back about another inch and a half.

[SPEAKER_02]: My uncle had one.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can't put the seat down and sit on the back of the seat.

[SPEAKER_04]: I find it intuitive at this point.

[SPEAKER_04]: So tell me about the car.

[SPEAKER_04]: How'd you get it?

[SPEAKER_02]: This is my third one.

[SPEAKER_02]: My first two, I imported it from Hungary.

[SPEAKER_02]: One of them was wrecked.

[SPEAKER_02]: The second one I got rid of and COVID.

[SPEAKER_02]: It just kind of was a bad color combination.

[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't like it.

[SPEAKER_02]: It needed a bunch of work.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I always told myself the next robot I'm going to get is going to be green and the the rarest color.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I just randomly did a green one.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's called Panama Green.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it's the rarest color they came in.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so in my uncle.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's a joke.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: So my uncle was in the Czech Republic in Prague.

[SPEAKER_04]: And there was a joke.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the joke went something like a guy goes to a trombone salesman.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he says, like to order a trombone.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the salesman looks in the calendar and said, OK, I can deliver a ten years from now, Thursday at two.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the guy says, oh, that's no good, because that's when the plumber comes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so he wanted to take years for this.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Did you wait for years?

[SPEAKER_02]: No.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, the second hand job answer worth like twice as much as a new one.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, because you can just buy it now.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Can you pop your hood?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, of course.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see if I don't know if I locked it.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, I did lock it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let me, let me.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, this isn't.

[SPEAKER_04]: What makes you, of course, the usual is that you have to make.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you have to pre-mix the oil.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's got this unusual smell.

[SPEAKER_04]: So when you're following one, that's beautiful.

[SPEAKER_04]: What kind of thing that is?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: When you're following one, you immediately know you're beheaded.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: That being said, this one has a rebuilt engine and we're running good two stroke oils.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it actually barely smokes.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Usually the worn out ones think real bad or if someone's tailgating you, you just pull the choke and then you send out a smoke club behind you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Rebuild.

[SPEAKER_04]: What does that mean?

[SPEAKER_04]: Like, twenty five horsepower.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's twenty six horsepower.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a twenty six horsepower and good rings so you don't have you know you're not blown smoke that everywhere Yeah, so service position, you know not like a mini Cooper you have to take the old front of the car off, but on this one you just unscrew these two screws [SPEAKER_02]: And then at that point you can get to the carburetor, the alternator.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: We work out this yourself.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I did everything.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And what year is this?

[SPEAKER_02]: Eighty-eight.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, one of the last years.

[SPEAKER_02]: They made them until ninety-one.

[SPEAKER_02]: The interior, it's really clean.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a very original.

[SPEAKER_02]: But ever since I started driving at the driver's seat's taking a beating, so I'm gonna have to get some new seat covers.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now for all you Trevot newbies out there.

[SPEAKER_04]: There are some very usual things about a Trevot.

[SPEAKER_04]: First and foremost is of course.

[SPEAKER_02]: The Duro Plast, which is a people who say it called Paper Machete, I don't think that's fair, but it's more like fiberglass of anything and it's made from shredded up cotton that they would just stamp together with a resin and just stamp it hard and it's pretty strong stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: You can actually swing a bat at it and it'll just bounce off.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, but it can crumble.

[SPEAKER_02]: It just depends.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but I hope I got his an accident and it like it like there was like it was like cotton fibers everywhere is Yeah, but but you know, it's Corvette technology.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is one has transverse leaf springs just like a Corvette.

[SPEAKER_04]: You can you can see the wheels.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, they're totally exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it has everything in common or the Corvette exactly except the twenty six tours.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, right.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, um, [SPEAKER_04]: I see you've got the Hungarian license plate.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's where my first trip on that I imported a long time ago and then that trip on got T-boneed and it rolled over erect.

[SPEAKER_02]: Are you okay?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, it's fine.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then I took the plates off of that and I just put it on this.

[SPEAKER_02]: We were able to like get this right.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in the process of registering it.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it has a tape.

[SPEAKER_02]: California.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's interesting.

[SPEAKER_02]: There is vehicle code in California that exempts two cylinder and two stroke cars.

[SPEAKER_02]: However, then there's a whole set of imported vehicle code they have to deal with.

[SPEAKER_02]: So there's kind of conflicting vehicle code on the matter.

[SPEAKER_04]: So are you in to Eastern European cars?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I was I drew the car here.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was telling these guys like actually like thirty or fourteen years ago.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I bought a touch of six L three.

[SPEAKER_04]: I would I would love one.

[SPEAKER_04]: I bought one in Prague and I drove it here.

[SPEAKER_04]: I drove it.

[SPEAKER_04]: from Prague to Brammerhaven, put on the ball.

[SPEAKER_02]: You did a whole YouTube series, I've watched all of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, of course.

[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know that was, yeah, yeah, I've watched it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the entire journey that ended, you ended here, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll do some of the other by it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Wonderful.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we've got a sickness.

[SPEAKER_04]: But it's a good business.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: My goal is to get a Tetris XIII, you know, the newer generation.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I moved in the nineties and those things were dirty.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you could pick one up.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now they're a lot.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you could pick one up for like two and a half.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, he has a lot of them.

[SPEAKER_04]: Do you know Jeff over at the Lane Museum in Nashville?

[SPEAKER_04]: No.

[SPEAKER_04]: So if you were in Nashville, there's a guy named Jeff with his museum and he's in the quirky crazy cars.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Got your bonds.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's got six thirties.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's got six or three.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: So if you're very nasty, we'll check out the next one.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I will.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, thank you, massage.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's close your mouth again.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to sink this mic back.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, congratulations, she's done this for a month.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you.

[SPEAKER_04]: Next, I mean, drive it back out.

[SPEAKER_04]: Where are you from in California?

[SPEAKER_04]: Santa Cruz.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I have from Colorado.

[SPEAKER_02]: Boulder.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: So you're not far off.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I'm not far off.

[SPEAKER_02]: The next school is a scoda.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hell yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I love scoda.

[SPEAKER_02]: Which one?

[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't made up my mind yet, but, uh...

Go hold on, let me put this back on.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: So.

[SPEAKER_04]: You said next to school.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've been decided.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I could be the one ten RS, which kind of looks like a nine eleven from the side.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, or the newer generation as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that you can get a scoda from the late eighties.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's like a five-speed has independent rear suspension.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're rapied, rapied, I think.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I'll tell you one last story.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I lived in Prague when I went from communist to capitalists and I wanted to get a Fabia, which is a convertible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he's convertible.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I found one for that time with sixty thousand crowns and the crown was twenty three to one dollar.

[SPEAKER_04]: So three thousand dollars for Fabia.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the guy he wanted to sell to me was restore pristine.

[SPEAKER_04]: I drove it back to house we were renting.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah show my wife.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and you know, I'm kind of like you, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: We're very similar in the body structure and she almost passed out laughing because she looked she said I was driving a bathtub.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you guys in this little yard.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: And now that car is probably worth, well, I don't know, a lot more than three thousand.

[SPEAKER_02]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, it was a pleasure to have you here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for bringing your cars.

[SPEAKER_02]: Really.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, [SPEAKER_04]: TFL, if you ever interested, it would be on TFL.

[SPEAKER_04]: TFL, this would be on TFL, TFL talk.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, well, thank you for putting up with my sickness or should I say guilty pleasure, which are touchers as we walk by this TT.

[SPEAKER_04]: And nobody aggro for here, so it's just me.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, in the year, getting angry about watching a sausage being made, I apologize, but, you know, sometimes it's, well, it's very expensive to be here.

[SPEAKER_04]: When we're here with the Tetra, Nathan, myself and Emily, who drove it across country, we stayed at the Quintez.

[SPEAKER_04]: This was, like I said, thirteen, fourteen years ago, and it was six hundred dollars a night, and my phone book, I was slumming it.

[SPEAKER_04]: another BMW but we're staying with the Mazuradi team so this place gets crazy and you can see right there right this is one Porsche two Porsche's it's just the place to be if you love cars and if you [SPEAKER_04]: Love exotic cars or classic cars or German cars or Italian cars and I will be covering the quail like I said tomorrow So come on over again to TFL talk.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is kind of our podcast channel, but we also put our long form videos on this channel, so we do these long walk rounds That's why this is living on TFL talk.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let me know [SPEAKER_04]: In the comments below what's been your favorite car so far that you've seen you a fan of the outies.

[SPEAKER_04]: I want to put the touch right in the outies.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here's a believe a first gen M-III.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see here.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was killed myself in an E-Thirty Six I'm Free.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, these cars are [SPEAKER_04]: It's the second generation E-thirty Six that actually sold better.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think these first-in cars were very expensive and people just didn't get them.

[SPEAKER_04]: But this being registered in the end of mind, I mean, I think we're missing Porsche.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I see a Porsche right there, but that can't be the only Porsche here, can't it?

[SPEAKER_04]: If you would think [SPEAKER_04]: a show dedicated to German cars would have more horses but maybe not.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I didn't walk far enough past all the BMW's.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess I could keep going if you walk a little farther and where's Volkswagen?

[SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of Volkswagen, I mean there is your [SPEAKER_04]: There's your Volkswagen classic van, which is, you know, also a legend of the Autobahn.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think this time for being slow or than being fast.

[SPEAKER_04]: But let's keep walking over here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I didn't go fine enough into BMW and define Volkswagen or Porsche land or maybe that isn't here.

[SPEAKER_04]: So what keep going.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, first is a lot of these shows are sponsored by the BMW Club of America or the Mercedes-Benz America.

[SPEAKER_04]: Lovely to color by the way.

[SPEAKER_04]: M-four, BMW, let me, and M-four convertible competition.

[SPEAKER_04]: I believe this is the CS.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's look, get that to CS, but I'm driving them for competition.

[SPEAKER_04]: Convertible, oh, we'll drive.

[SPEAKER_04]: Seems I had to have a, oh, we'll drive convertible.

[SPEAKER_04]: especially now that's raining, but that was very nice of BMW to loan that car to me.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's keep going.

[SPEAKER_04]: What else there is?

[SPEAKER_04]: And there's, like I said, BMW's a couple of America right there.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see if there's any other cool cars with owner standing by, that we can talk to.

[SPEAKER_04]: This one seems to be missing the hoodie.

[SPEAKER_04]: That is incredible engine.

[SPEAKER_04]: Holy cow.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's incredible interior too.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, oh, look at that.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I can't.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think like you need the hood, but hey, if you've spent all this time and money, you're going to make your engine look beautiful, why not?

[SPEAKER_04]: Put a little short hood, but then it makes a question.

[SPEAKER_04]: Does it actually ever get driven or does it go to shows?

[SPEAKER_04]: Don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go see.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's all BMW's here.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I guess I don't think it's there.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think this might be BMW parking.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's an M three CSL.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't see, don't see Porsche world.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, Audi, BMW and Mercedes, and of course, Trebond, seems to be the place to be.

[SPEAKER_04]: I set off, of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: You guys want to see what it's like to drive in a set up.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just head over to TFL Classics, Tamiya, and Taste Destroyer, one of these, and quite the experience.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to see.

[SPEAKER_04]: I could see the engine, so there's your MED-eight and it doesn't look like much, but mid-engine in the M-One.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just a beautiful car.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just a beautiful car.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe because it was on my wall when I was a kid.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's why I have a deep and abiding fondness for this car.

[SPEAKER_04]: So let's head on over back to where we started.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is interesting.

[SPEAKER_04]: This car is running, oh, it's being judged.

[SPEAKER_04]: So these parts are being judged.

[SPEAKER_04]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_04]: So there are trophies at stake.

[SPEAKER_04]: But obviously this car is very original.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look at the roof.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I have a Patina.

[SPEAKER_04]: I have a tattoo.

[SPEAKER_04]: I see which one it is.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I love it.

[SPEAKER_05]: This is like, uh, two thousand two T-I-I.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I love a little of the tire that is half peeled off.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a nice touch.

[SPEAKER_04]: I kind of feel like I'm at legends.

[SPEAKER_04]: Lemon, sorry, lemons.

[SPEAKER_04]: With these cars.

[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, is this BMW's future?

[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of you would say no.

[SPEAKER_04]: The I-Fires.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if you have driven one of the BMW electric cars, which we have, you'd be surprised just how well they drive.

[SPEAKER_04]: So before you kind of turn up your nose on [SPEAKER_04]: Electrification is my say that because every time we do an electric car people First comment is how no But now I would say is Drive one before you say how no of course it is missing those magnificent exhaust For those magnificent exhaust Which are incredibly cool and incredibly fun, but still [SPEAKER_04]: Ironically, with all those giant exhaust, electric cars are probably going to be quicker.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway guys, thank you for joining me for this walk around of the legends of the Autobahn.

[SPEAKER_04]: I will be walking around the quail tomorrow and come back for another fun episode.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if you're interested, and of course, I'll TFL videos turn on over to altFL.com.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if you want to help support the channel become a Patreon, we're really trying to promote that now.

[SPEAKER_04]: YouTube revenue is [SPEAKER_04]: declining rapidly and so it's because of our patrons that I'm able to and BMW of course thank you for bringing me out here that I'm able to I couldn't afford this is that I'm able to come out here and cover this event for you guys and we'll finish off or we started which is with the new M to see us see you next time
