Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_20]: Everybody wants to sit on the couch.

[SPEAKER_20]: I don't want to go to the toilet.

[SPEAKER_20]: It's cool.

[SPEAKER_20]: I don't want to do this at all.

[SPEAKER_20]: You've got to do things that you don't want to do because you show your body that your mind is the boss.

[SPEAKER_20]: Your mind is telling your body what to do and then you have control.

[SPEAKER_10]: If you pan it down here, you see about three o'clock in the morning.

[SPEAKER_10]: And there's not a car or a person inside.

[SPEAKER_10]: If you pan over here, it's the same thing.

[SPEAKER_10]: Not a car or a person inside.

[SPEAKER_10]: People who don't know where I find my strength at, where I get my strength, I get it from a lot of places, they're right now this morning, I'm getting it from, there's not a mother fucker that's up, there's not a car, there's not a person, everybody's in their bed, sleep dreading that it's a Monday, hate it's a Monday, and I'm loving it.

[SPEAKER_10]: I'm loving that whereby it's getting weaker, I'm getting stronger.

[SPEAKER_23]: You don't have to feel good about it, you just have to keep going.

[SPEAKER_23]: The feeling will pass, but you will remain.

[SPEAKER_23]: You are greater than your feelings.

[SPEAKER_23]: Going to bed late and waking up early to work for a few days won't kill you.

[SPEAKER_23]: You're not going to burn out, you're doing what it takes.

[SPEAKER_23]: If you're one of those people that push work-life balance, just remember the people who like working a lot, don't care.

[SPEAKER_23]: I've never regretted trying harder and anything ever.

[SPEAKER_23]: Hard times last long, but an epic story feels like a lifetime.

[SPEAKER_10]: Motivation yet to learn to exist without it.

[SPEAKER_10]: Yet to learn to be, yet to be your best self and your least motivated.

[SPEAKER_10]: And that's the tricky part about all that.

[SPEAKER_10]: Motivation is just a word, you have to have these different things in your mind on where you want to go and know that Motivation is not going to give you there.

[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not going to always be motivated.

[SPEAKER_10]: Now, long clock goes off at four or five in the morning, your mind says, no, you just say, this is what we do.

[SPEAKER_23]: The emotionally immature man seeks out motivation to do something hard one time.

[SPEAKER_23]: The emotionally mature man uses discipline to do something hard a thousand times.

[SPEAKER_10]: Through discipline, through soft discipline, through repetition, through tons of repetition, the same thing that you don't want to do.

[SPEAKER_10]: That's the key thing.

[SPEAKER_10]: Through repetition, the things you don't want to do.

[SPEAKER_10]: You develop mental, like an armor for your mind.

[SPEAKER_10]: Start to armor your mind, you're gonna say, okay, we suffer, we suffer every day.

[SPEAKER_10]: We do stuff that sucks every day, so then when the suck stuff comes, you're ready for it.

[SPEAKER_09]: The discipline can seem like it's your worst enemy, but the reality is, discipline is your best friend, it will take care of you like nothing else can, and it will put you on that path.

[SPEAKER_09]: and intelligence and happiness.

[SPEAKER_08]: To be exceptional means that you are the exception.

[SPEAKER_08]: It means that you are not normal.

[SPEAKER_08]: And so it's normal for normal people to find you abnormal if you do things that are not normal.

[SPEAKER_08]: Don't let people who have mediocre goals deter you from taking actions that make you great.

[SPEAKER_09]: Do what you're supposed to do, and don't expect some incredible results in one day or two days or ten days worth while things take hundred days.

[SPEAKER_23]: Normal people get normal results, weird people get weird results, you literally can't do what everyone else does and not expect to get what everyone else has.

[SPEAKER_25]: By doing what everyone else does, you guarantee average results.

[SPEAKER_25]: But the answer is yes, and you do that for five years, 10 years, 15 years.

[SPEAKER_25]: How much better are you going to be?

[SPEAKER_25]: And that's basketball, that's whether it's football, that doesn't matter.

[SPEAKER_25]: Are you getting better every single day?

[SPEAKER_05]: We are in control of our momentum.

[SPEAKER_05]: If you're in a terrible place right now, if your life sucks right now, you get up, you don't want to go run, you go run.

[SPEAKER_10]: You don't want to go swim, you go swim.

[SPEAKER_10]: You don't want to make your bed, you make your bed.

[SPEAKER_10]: Well, people are saying that they live for themselves, not knowing that you have the power within yourself to change millions of lives by face of life, by face of yourself.

[SPEAKER_10]: And through that, I would die never knowing.

[SPEAKER_10]: that the power to chase means of lives.

[SPEAKER_07]: You gotta keep working, your time's gonna come.

[SPEAKER_07]: You gotta work, your time is gonna happen.

[SPEAKER_07]: You're here for a reason.

[SPEAKER_07]: But you gotta be ready because if you're not, it's on you.

[SPEAKER_23]: The magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding.

[SPEAKER_03]: People say, if you have no idea, hungri up, really?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what you do about it today?

[SPEAKER_03]: Or not today, but tomorrow, I'm gonna, you ain't hungry, man.

[SPEAKER_03]: You just think you're hungry, you are not hungry.

[SPEAKER_03]: You can outwork anybody.

[SPEAKER_10]: But that's the part people don't want to dive into.

[SPEAKER_27]: So the one thing I want you to promise me is that no matter how long it takes, keep going.

[SPEAKER_27]: I'm not how much your hurts keep going.

[SPEAKER_27]: So you was placed on this earth for a reason.

[SPEAKER_27]: You were admitted to the average.

[SPEAKER_27]: You were meant to accept.

[SPEAKER_27]: You got to understand that this grind is meant to make you who you're supposed to be.

[SPEAKER_27]: A dog.

[SPEAKER_27]: A little grind ain't ever hurt nobody.

[SPEAKER_27]: Stop being a soft.

[SPEAKER_27]: Let's embrace it.

[SPEAKER_27]: If you go through that fight, you're going to come out real cold.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's what we want.

[SPEAKER_04]: You have to be obsessed, you have to be mission-focused, you have to be driven by something greater than what average people are driven by.

[SPEAKER_26]: You want to reach your goal, how to reach the goal of the quickest, be focused with your energy.

[SPEAKER_26]: Meaning, be focused with the mind, don't lose the goal from the mind, whatever you do from the moment of waking up until the evening, whatever you do, keep the goal in the mind.

[SPEAKER_26]: This is the quickest way of making this goal become real.

[SPEAKER_08]: If you had a creative human, who would you put them through to make them tough?

[SPEAKER_08]: It probably wouldn't be a really chill life.

[SPEAKER_12]: Therefore, the dedication, work hard, because the talent is not enough anymore.

[SPEAKER_12]: And if you're not dedicated under percent.

[SPEAKER_12]: You're not going to reach the level that you want.

[SPEAKER_23]: Reminder that if you want to be exceptional, you're going to be different from everyone else.

[SPEAKER_23]: That's what makes you exceptional.

[SPEAKER_23]: You can't fit in and also be exceptional.

[SPEAKER_23]: Both have discomfort.

[SPEAKER_23]: When you fit in, you have internal conflict because you're not being 100% you.

[SPEAKER_23]: When you're exceptional, you have external conflict because everyone sees you as different.

[SPEAKER_23]: Take one.

[SPEAKER_23]: When your friends start to say, you've changed.

[SPEAKER_23]: Remember, it's because they don't know how to say, you've grown.

[SPEAKER_08]: If you can barely decide to take any action at all and pull your eyes away from your phone for just a moment, it's so much easier to be everyone else because in a world where it's never been easier to do nothing, doing something becomes extraordinary.

[SPEAKER_27]: The yo-promise that you [SPEAKER_27]: Good thing is coming to those who wait, saying the sprint, this is a marathon.

[SPEAKER_27]: And the more you can warn them about the future, the more you can get lost in the present.

[SPEAKER_27]: You gotta get up and just put one foot from the other branches, have that blind faith.

[SPEAKER_27]: But what I will say is that we don't know when it's happening, but we know what's coming.

[SPEAKER_27]: When you're putting this working for no reason, so for that I say keep grinding and I believe in you.

[SPEAKER_23]: Before you win, everyone will ask why you're working so hard, and after you win, everyone will remind you how lucky you got.

[SPEAKER_06]: eight hours you sleep in most people working nine or five so eight hours you work okay so we have 16 hours got breakfast lunch and dinner so we will be a night this 19 take your hour to get ready so we have 20 hours so you guys can not spend four hours going to be on daylight or [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, they think it's in the photos to other people.

[SPEAKER_06]: Y'all got to give them focus on where I'm at because I'm focus.

[SPEAKER_06]: Why not you?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why not you?

[SPEAKER_24]: We all ask why we should work this hard.

[SPEAKER_24]: Why I take that many classes?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why go to school at many years?

[SPEAKER_24]: You know, why I take the notes?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why read the books?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why work that hard?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why put yourself through the push-ups and the disciplines?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why?

[SPEAKER_24]: Good question, why?

[SPEAKER_24]: The best answer to why I think is the second question.

[SPEAKER_24]: Why not?

[SPEAKER_24]: Why not see how many books you can read, how many classes you can take, how many skills you can develop.

[SPEAKER_24]: Why not see how bound you could become to the marketplace to your friends and to your family.

[SPEAKER_24]: Why not see what you can make of yourself, why not see how far you can go, how much you can see, how much you can earn, how much you can share.

[SPEAKER_24]: Why not?

[SPEAKER_24]: That's the heritage all of us have in America, especially as to see what we can make out of our lives.

[SPEAKER_24]: Now that we've been given this extraordinary opportunity.

[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody has a turn back holding.

[SPEAKER_02]: You have a moment where you can go forward or you can give up.

[SPEAKER_02]: But the thing you have to keep in mind before you give up is that if you give up, [SPEAKER_02]: The guarantee is it will never happen.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's the guarantee of quitting.

[SPEAKER_02]: That it will never happen no way under the sun.

[SPEAKER_02]: The only way the possibility remains that it can happen is if you never give up no matter what.

[SPEAKER_10]: And then the day I ask myself one question, can I take one more step?

[SPEAKER_10]: And usually the answer is yes.

[SPEAKER_10]: So if you can answer that question and not taking another step, [SPEAKER_10]: That is real failure.

[SPEAKER_23]: Here's how to get older without getting better.

[SPEAKER_23]: Keep relearning the same lesson.

[SPEAKER_23]: If you keep making the same mistake over and over, the mistake isn't the problem.

[SPEAKER_23]: you want.

[SPEAKER_19]: The thing is, man, it's always going to be a party.

[SPEAKER_19]: It's always going to be a time to celebrate, you know, the time to join friends and, or a day to, I mean, the bars are always open.

[SPEAKER_19]: Always open.

[SPEAKER_19]: Then how old you are?

[SPEAKER_19]: They're always open, you know?

[SPEAKER_19]: Once that's always open, it's the opportunity to, you know, [SPEAKER_19]: to check the box alive.

[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, achieve your dreams.

[SPEAKER_19]: That's not always open, man.

[SPEAKER_23]: Bros and villains always have the same backstory, pain.

[SPEAKER_23]: The difference is what they choose to do about it.

[SPEAKER_23]: Villain says, The world hurt me.

[SPEAKER_23]: I'll hurt it back.

[SPEAKER_23]: The hero says, The world hurt me.

[SPEAKER_23]: I'm not going to let it hurt anybody else.

[SPEAKER_23]: Heroes use pain.

[SPEAKER_23]: Villains are used by it.

[SPEAKER_10]: I have the 100 men that go on a war.

[SPEAKER_10]: Tension you'd be there.

[SPEAKER_10]: 80 of them are this targets.

[SPEAKER_10]: 10 do most or nine do most of fighting.

[SPEAKER_10]: One is a warrior.

[SPEAKER_10]: But you're racing against no one but yourself.

[SPEAKER_10]: When you compare yourself to other people, [SPEAKER_10]: You are losing the race, and this race is too against you, man.

[SPEAKER_10]: Where are you buying yourself?

[SPEAKER_10]: Where are you doing?

[SPEAKER_10]: Where am I?

[SPEAKER_10]: Where you're going?

[SPEAKER_10]: Only where you're going?

[SPEAKER_10]: To be your best self.

[SPEAKER_08]: With worst conditions, then you currently have, which then means it's absolutely possible, and then the only thing that it takes to get there is work.

[SPEAKER_15]: Now you know who've given it your all is, and you will not succeed in business where any endeavor in life.

[SPEAKER_15]: until that fight you just went through.

[SPEAKER_15]: It's applied to the scene endeavor.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's just gonna take time, dude.

[SPEAKER_05]: The reality of achievement, brother, is it takes way longer than we think.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's way harder than we think.

[SPEAKER_10]: And then the day I ask myself one question, can I take one more step?

[SPEAKER_10]: And usually the answer is yes.

[SPEAKER_10]: So if you can answer that question and not taking another step, [SPEAKER_10]: That is real failure.

[SPEAKER_23]: Confidence and fear, both require believing in something that hasn't happened yet.

[SPEAKER_23]: At a certain point, you have to consider that you're choosing to be afraid.

[SPEAKER_10]: When you're suffering, you give up on the very things that you want it the most.

[SPEAKER_10]: When I was going through Paris, I wanted to be a Paris, you missed so bad.

[SPEAKER_10]: But that water haunted me.

[SPEAKER_10]: So when the suffering got too much, my dream died.

[SPEAKER_16]: Don't ever sell out for the temporary ward of what the opportunity is today.

[SPEAKER_16]: Believe in the bigger picture, believe that all these things are just moments building the wave for the big moment to come.

[SPEAKER_16]: Always plant the seeds of hard work and integrity and honor.

[SPEAKER_16]: Today, and then every day you water them and nourish them, [SPEAKER_16]: Monday, Alice Proud, a flower of which when you're dead and gone, people will still remember.

[SPEAKER_22]: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.

[SPEAKER_16]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_22]: Because you need to have a hierarchy of improvement you need to be aiming for something.

[SPEAKER_22]: And that means you're going to be lesser than people who've always already attained along that dimension.

[SPEAKER_22]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_22]: That can give rise to envy.

[SPEAKER_22]: So the question is, who should you defeat in the final analysis and the answer is, you should defeat your former self.

[SPEAKER_22]: You should be constantly trying to do that.

[SPEAKER_22]: And you're the right control for yourself too, because you're the one who's had all your advantages and disadvantages.

[SPEAKER_22]: And so if you want to compete fairly with someone, then you should be competing with you.

[SPEAKER_23]: If your life was a movie, and people were watching up to this point, what would the audience be screaming at the screen telling you to do with your life?

[SPEAKER_23]: What would they be just it's obvious leave the job leave the room you mean get like it's your brother It's that you know dig the killer's hiding in the cupboard whatever it might be What would the audience watching the movie of your life be screaming at the screen telling you to do?

[SPEAKER_23]: How bad do you want it?

[SPEAKER_18]: There's two options They continue forward pushing upward [SPEAKER_18]: And if you do that dream, just give him birth.

[SPEAKER_18]: And forever, you will live in the reality of it.

[SPEAKER_18]: If you stop quit throwing a towel.

[SPEAKER_17]: I promise you, there's no distance you can travel far enough.

[SPEAKER_17]: Don't find that dream again.

[SPEAKER_17]: If you want it bad enough, you find a way.

[SPEAKER_17]: If you don't want it bad enough, you find excuses.

[SPEAKER_17]: Get back to work.

[SPEAKER_09]: You don't get discipline from an external source.

[SPEAKER_09]: you have to get it from you, that's what self-discipline is, you get it from yourself, you get it from you.

[SPEAKER_08]: The distance that we can shrink between wanting to do something or thinking something should be done and it being done is a direct indication of our personal power in our lives.

[SPEAKER_20]: If you could just find a thing and work hard at that thing, you'll realize through that thing that you can get good at anything with time and effort.

[SPEAKER_10]: And how do you become a better person?

[SPEAKER_10]: How do you gain mental toughness?

[SPEAKER_10]: How do you become the person you want to be?

[SPEAKER_10]: It's constantly facing the things that you don't want to face.

[SPEAKER_10]: If you're constantly running away from things that you don't want to face, how is there growth?

[SPEAKER_20]: How is there a minute of tough?

[SPEAKER_20]: You want to be really great at something.

[SPEAKER_20]: You kind of have to be out of your mind But you also have to have an iron will.

[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah, you don't want to work out every day There's gonna be days you just want to eat cake and sleep But if you want to get past the guy who eats cake and sleep You don't eat cake.

[SPEAKER_20]: You don't sleep.

[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, when you think about shit, you like [SPEAKER_14]: Seven o'clock tonight, man.

[SPEAKER_14]: I'm tired.

[SPEAKER_14]: He's got back on the work.

[SPEAKER_14]: I'll go to the gym or not.

[SPEAKER_14]: Hour and half passes.

[SPEAKER_14]: It's not 8.30.

[SPEAKER_14]: You didn't go to the gym, but you know damn well your evil squint inside of you did go to the gym and he's out there and you just got better than you [SPEAKER_14]: that weakness he think I'm tired, comes in over takes your potential, and stops you from becoming the person you can be, yet someone else is going to be a gym, then 20 years later when you have mid-life crisis, they say life's not fair, certain looking back, when all those folks in the road, where you sat down and said standing up, and you don't feel sorry for yourself.

[SPEAKER_13]: No one in that someone out there is going to forgo.

[SPEAKER_13]: Personal desires and comforts.

[SPEAKER_13]: Forgo a sleep.

[SPEAKER_13]: Forgo whatever it takes to be better to be the best.

[SPEAKER_10]: it's time to get back to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: Stop hearing yourself talk, get off the podcast, don't be on social media too much, cut out all the noise, get back to the mental lab.

[SPEAKER_23]: Until you win, effort always goes and noticed, get used to it, no one roots for you, until everyone roots for you, that's just how it works.

[SPEAKER_10]: Do you want to be on your deathbed?

[SPEAKER_10]: No one that you could, but you didn't.

[SPEAKER_21]: The truth is, whatever game you play in life, sometimes you're going to lose a point, a match, a season, a job, it's a roller coaster with many ups and downs, and it's natural when you're down to doubt yourself and to feel sorry for yourself.

[SPEAKER_21]: And by the way, your opponents have self-doubt too, don't ever forget that.

[SPEAKER_21]: But negative energy is wasted energy.

[SPEAKER_21]: You want to become a master at overcoming hard moments that is to me, the sign of a champion.

[SPEAKER_21]: The best in the world, they're not the best because they win every point.

[SPEAKER_21]: It's because they know they lose again and again and have learned how to deal with it.

[SPEAKER_21]: You accept it, cry it out if you need to, and then force a smile.

[SPEAKER_10]: You are able to get up every morning.

[SPEAKER_10]: Have no passion, no drive, no more evasive, no shit.

[SPEAKER_10]: It's still get up with that kind of fire.

[SPEAKER_10]: You will be successful in life.

[SPEAKER_26]: Set up a schedule.

[SPEAKER_26]: and just do the work.

[SPEAKER_26]: You stick to what you put there on paper.

[SPEAKER_26]: You take your time, you make the plan, and unless you really are sick, or have some type of higher excuse, you just do what you have committed to.

[SPEAKER_20]: If you have a regular job job, like an office job, you will pretend to be a whole different person for eight hours a day, every day of your life that you're there.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_20]: That is a lot of time bullshitting.

[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_20]: And when you get out of all that bullshitting, there's not much you left.

[SPEAKER_20]: Whatever could have been you never grew, because whatever could have been you was stifled by fluorescent lights and a monitor.

[SPEAKER_20]: Don't start things in that finish him.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't quit.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing that comes out of quitting, besides knowing that you didn't finish.

[SPEAKER_01]: We finish everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: You start it, finish it.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to do it, do it to try and be the best.

[SPEAKER_23]: You can doubt the process, question your talent, be uncertain that you're making progress, disparage your accomplishments, permanently feel like you're not working hard enough, no matter how hard you work, never give yourself a break, fail to fully feel gratitude, be terrified of never reaching your goals, and still end up in a place that you're 20 year old self could not imagine you'd ever get to.

[SPEAKER_23]: Self belief is overrated, generate evidence.

[SPEAKER_04]: have exactly what you deserve.

[SPEAKER_04]: You might think that life is unfair.

[SPEAKER_04]: You might think that the life dealt you with bad hand, but I'm here to tell you life will give you exactly what you tolerate.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if you've been tolerating mediocrity, you've been tolerating average, you've been tolerating this victim mentality that you're caring, then guess what?

[SPEAKER_04]: You have exactly what you deserve.

[SPEAKER_11]: Real talk.

[SPEAKER_11]: Some of you move, piss me off, talk.

[SPEAKER_11]: So guess what?

[SPEAKER_11]: I disappear and come back with George Mowler.

[SPEAKER_11]: I'm $199 miles into this race.

[SPEAKER_11]: Gary's knees are bad.

[SPEAKER_11]: See how he runs?

[SPEAKER_11]: Yes, the hard run, George Mowler.

[SPEAKER_11]: What the prince has picked up?

[SPEAKER_11]: Hey, what were you doing for last 65 hours?

[SPEAKER_11]: I know what I was doing.

[SPEAKER_11]: I was running all up and down the mountains.

[SPEAKER_11]: Getting it in.

[SPEAKER_11]: Do a wrap for each of us.

[SPEAKER_09]: If you only did what you were supposed to do when you were motivated to do it, that's leaving it the chance.

[SPEAKER_09]: But if you're disciplined, you go to what you're supposed to do.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's the way it works.

[SPEAKER_07]: People quit and they give up.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I will not be the person who quit before I got what I wanted or what I needed or what I thought I was supposed to have.

[SPEAKER_10]: There's no passion, no motivation.

[SPEAKER_10]: There's no, oh my god, man, I, this is no.

[SPEAKER_10]: It's every day of your life just doing.

[SPEAKER_10]: Where's passion when you three on your pounds?

[SPEAKER_10]: Where's the motivation when you can't read and write?

[SPEAKER_10]: Where is it?

[SPEAKER_10]: So how does this happen?

[SPEAKER_02]: I just, who did?

[SPEAKER_02]: I just did.

[SPEAKER_02]: You just got a quick tripping while you were in the process because the process is necessary.

[SPEAKER_02]: You may not see it now but when you get you on the other side of it you're going to see exactly why I went that way and you're going to be okay with it.
