Here are some of the news headlines we're watching.

The conference was over.

The president won a pledge.

Americans worshiping government over God.

Extremely rare safety move by a mage.

17 years.

The Palestinians and Israelis negotiated.

This is not.

You know, there was a builder.

Even if the builder died 50 years ago.

You know, don't just believe you know there was a builder because buildings cannot build themselves.

Creation is evidence of a creator.

You look around, you see the genius of God's creative hand everywhere you look.

And the Bible says this.

The invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made.

So, you know, God exists because, you know, things have been made.

Welcomed in the market with Janet Parshall.

And that is the one and only Ray comfort who proclaims the gospel without blush, embarrassment or hesitation.

By appealing is his words, not to the intellect where conflict resides, but rather to the conscience.

And God opened the door for him to do just that.

At Cal State Fullerton recently through a Turning Point USA event, and I can't wait to find out to get a first person account of what happened.

Ray, of course, is the founder and CEO of Living Waters.

He's the best selling author of more than 100 books.

He's the co-host of the award winning TV program that airs on 190 countries.

And that is, of course, the way of the master.

He's the producer of several award winning films.

They have a fabulous YouTube channel where literally millions of people come and visit every single day.

Their resources are superb, they have a streaming platform, and when I'm done telling you everything about Living Waters and Ray comfort, we'll have two minutes left to talk.

So I'll leave it there for the moment and say, Ray, I cannot tell you what a thrill it was to sit and watch that entire event.

I was praying like crazy the entire time you were speaking, and I thought, this is a New Testament moment.

You have been so familiar with the whole idea of open air preaching.

That's just who you are.

It just pours out of you.

But you're in a class of your own.

You're unique that way in that.

Now we're kind of the frozen chosen here in the United States, and we don't do that so much.

And we have lots of conversations about love and grace, but we don't want to do exactly what you do so powerfully, and that is appeal to the conscience that it's oh so politically incorrect to even broach the subject of sin.

And you do it in the most loving way.

I want to hear just first of all, some impressions, some fingerprints on your heart the day that you went there to be a part of this conversation, what did you think?

How do you prepare?

Um, you prepare by putting on a bulletproof vest.

Yes, that's exactly right.

But tell our friends because you didn't keep it on.

No.

I, uh, one of my staff said you need to wear a bulletproof vest.

I said, no, no, they're too restrictive, blah, blah.

And I looked at a video and it looked really good.

It didn't look cumbersome, so we ordered it.

It's $1,100.

And I thought, well, this is my wife, my wife, my life worth that.

So he got it.

And I wore it for an hour around the house.

And it was cumbersome.

It was falsified advertising.

It was heavy.

And when I looked in the mirror, I looked like I was £200 overweight.

And I thought, if I get killed, I don't want people to have that impression on me.

The last impression a plump little anyway.

So.

Because I had to wear a t shirt over it, t shirt under it and shirt over it, and on top of that.

And anyway, I thought, ah, I don't want to wear this.

So I said to Sue, that's my wife.

I said, I'm 75 years old.

Someone takes me out, they're not going to take me out in my youth, and I'm not going to leave two little kids without fathers.

Do you mind if I don't wear it?

And she said, no problem at all.

Didn't mention life insurance or anything like that was just great.

And so I didn't I didn't wear it and uh, and things there was a huge crowd there.

We just couldn't believe how many were there.

And it was a wonderful opportunity.

I do have one regret.

Regrets.

I have a few.

But then again, too few to mention.

Um, one of them was, one of them was, uh, the fact that when we preached open air in universities in the past, we've had what's called a gatekeeper.

And this is because we've had an open mic for many years in Huntington Beach.

And we know if a Christian gets on that open mic, it's the end of the whole thing.

It's just all over because the crowd leaves if they want to give a testimony how their leg was healed, they've got a theological question that's boring to the unsaved and they just leave.

So I forgot to tell them to have a strong gatekeeper that just said, oh, this is for non-Christians, not Christians.

Thank you.

And so I had an unenviable task of asking Christians to get off the box, and there's no way to do it without sounding rude.

So next time we do that, we'll make sure we've got a good gatekeeper that says, look, this is for atheists and skeptics to ask questions about the things of God, not for pastoral counselling, which is boring to the unsaved.

So that's our only regret.

But it was just a wonderful opportunity.

And then when Fox, uh, got hold of us and said, would I come on?

Um, I thought, this is a wonderful opportunity.

And, uh, did you know that story?

Yes.

I watched it multiple times.

All four minutes and 36 seconds of it, where there wasn't a second, a nanosecond that wasn't delegated to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I've got some clips I'm going to play during the course of this conversation as well.

But tell our friends how this happened.

By the way, can I go back to your regret for a minute?

Because your video, I mean, you're so excellent with the creative arts.

You really know how to capture people.

You're fishing for men all the time.

And so, of course, that I have one regret populated in my living waters feed last night.

And I just watched it and I thought, well, I'm going to talk to Ray tomorrow.

I can't imagine this man has anything to regret about what happened at Cal State Fullerton.

And then you made this comment about the gatekeeper and this unenviable task of when someone came up.

The first question you asked was, are you a Christian and what you wanted to do?

And you weren't being mean by the way you did this because you were there for the purpose of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And so you wanted to engage and interact with those who didn't yet know him the seeker, the skeptic, the cynic, the role of the Christian in that environment.

As I saw it, watching the entire three plus hour event, was that their job was to be praying for those who came to the microphone and didn't yet know the Lord as their Savior, while at the same time being tutored by a master.

You, Mr.

Comfort, on exactly how to be able to go back to the conscience and not the intellect.

And of course, college campuses are about nothing but the intellect.

So I thought to myself, my heart goes out to you.

That's your tender heart that you wanted to do that.

And it was a logistics issue.

And I understand that there were some who might have thought, well, you weren't being kind to the Christians.

It wasn't an apologetics class.

It wasn't a discipleship class.

It wasn't a Christian 400 level class.

It was for people on a secular university to find out who is this Jesus?

And you were doing it because in the window of time that you had, you wanted to make sure that message was the message that was preached.

So can I just tell you, as an observer in the peanut gallery, you handled it with a sophistication and tenderness.

I was extremely impressed.

Could you write that out?

And I'll keep reading it back to myself.

I needed that because seriously, I have I have seen hundreds of comments.

The Christians saying, you're mean, you're horrible, you should talk to Christians and stuff like that.

And they just didn't understand what we're trying to do.

So it's good for my soul to hear you say that.

And really, truly.

That's why I wanted to see it live.

I thought, I can't be at Cal State, but I can be a prayer warrior.

And I wanted to intercede.

And that the Lord would put the words in your mouth and everyone else from your team that was going to get up and speak, and that's what I did.

That was a privilege when we come back.

So here's a national news network that picks up on what happened.

And they picked up on Ray comfort.

When, uh, the the prostitute was brought up, uh, and Jesus said, sin no more.

Do you think that she never again committed a sin?

I don't think so.

Okay.

So then what was the meaning of that passage?

See, a Christian is someone who perpetually.

Do you know what that means?

Yeah.

Perpetually turns from sin.

If you get up in the morning and say, today I sinned, that's called sinning after the flesh.

And you need to check yourself and see if you're playing the hypocrite.

Mm.

Again, that was a part of a Turning Point USA event where Ray comfort and many members of his team came and engaged with students at Cal State Fullerton.

Just a I don't know about you, but my heart is just pounding.

Something is happening.

I'm so excited to see this open air preaching, this direct appeal going where young minds are, particularly where they're anxious to know questions.

You know, college is so about building your worldview.

And in theory, you're supposed to be sifting and weighing until you concretize your own worldview.

And in the midst of all of that, while you're getting all of this knowledge, what you're really hungry for is wisdom.

And that comes from the Lord.

So it's a very ripe, fertile field for someone to show up.

And Ray comfort, thank you, Lord was given the opportunity to be able to do just that.

But after this event, we're going to talk more about it in a minute.

I don't have a clue how this happened.

Just somewhere there have got to be Christians all over that network, Ray, because of the stuff that they do and the guests that they book and they found you.

Now, Trace Gallagher is part of Fox, but he's stationed in California.

So tell me how you got the call that they wanted to talk to you?

Well, just before I say that, I got to say that my team here were responsible, even though I didn't wear a bulletproof vest.

And also, there were things on the internet like comments on a YouTube channel giving advice to me like one was any death threats.

Yet another one was take a page out of Trump's book and move your head around a lot.

Oh, wow.

And another one was make sure there's an ambulance there.

Another one says, try and stop the bleeding within five minutes or you're dead.

Very encouraging stuff like that.

Well, we did have security.

We did have security guards following me around.

We had armed police in plainclothes in the crowd.

We had a guy on a roof, uh, security on the roof, and we had a drone watching what was going on.

So they were very responsible and did take care of.

Anyway, Fox, uh, contacted me, and they were going to they were going to get me on beforehand, and then they said no afterwards.

Would you would you do it?

And I said, love to went to Santa Monica.

And all the day that they they got me to send them video of what I'd like shown and they said, give us some questions that we'd like, you know, you'd like to ask or be asked.

And so I formulated questions that were very good and gave them great video.

And when I got there, the surprise, the producer assistant producer says, I guess you could have knocked me over with this, she said.

I love your ministry.

Can we do a selfie?

And I was so encouraged.

I love that it was just.

I thought, what?

This is crazy.

And anyway, two minutes before we went live, she said they didn't use your footage and they didn't use your questions.

And I thought, great, here I am going to go on live television nationwide.

This is an incredible opportunity to make a fool of myself in front of my family, from my friends, in front of millions of people, because I had nothing to say.

They took away my bullet points.

I'd been practicing all day what I was going to say, and it was just smooth and clear and wonderful.

Anyway, the floor manager came over about a minute beforehand and said, come this way.

And I got my bullet points which were on my phone, dropped them on my lap of my driver and cameraman Gayle, and just went out.

This is a sink or swim and I could not believe what Fox did.

They played a video of me showing how you could prove God's existence.

Like, look at the building.

There was a builder, obviously.

Look at creation.

There was a creator.

And then quoting scripture.

And then trace comes back, talks to me for a minute, and then he says, now let's look at another clip about sin.

I thought about what?

About sin.

This is Fox News that's supposed to suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

What is going on?

So we talked about sin and then the next thesis.

Now we'll look at a clip about hell.

And I thought, you're kidding.

The only time they talk about hell on Fox is when the president's speaking.

He talks about it a lot.

He uses the word without speaking in truth.

And so I was absolutely delighted, flabbergasted.

And I so thank God that he helped me, because I've often talked about this with the guys at the ministry when they asked me questions about ministry, you know, when God's helping you because, you know, when God's not helping you, you know what it feels like to flounder when you get into a pulpit.

and and I just says, Lord, you've got to help me.

So I actually typed a little prayer onto my phone and it was just said something like this Dear father, I know nothing I can do nothing.

You've just got to help me with this, please, in Jesus name.

And that's when I sunk or swim.

And when I came off after the 3 or 4 minutes, I could have done cartwheels down the stairs.

That's a slight exaggeration, but I was just over the moon.

That God.

Well, that's another exaggeration over the moon.

That what God had allowed me to do, to preach the whole gospel on secular television.

It was just amazing.

Yes.

And in less than five minutes.

So the existence of God, the reality of sin and the the, the destination of hell, I mean, all of that.

But the best part is when it was done, Trey said, Ray, you give us more video, we want you back on again.

Now it's atypical.

It's atypical for a for a host to do that because there's a few witnesses to what was just said.

So for him to say it, the other thing too is my mama used to say, there is no art to tell the mind's construction by the face she loved to quote that poet's line, but I'm telling you, I don't know where he's coming from spiritually, because first Samuel says, I don't have those kind of eyes.

God looks on the outward, man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.

But Tracy didn't take his eyes off of you.

His eyes widened as you spoke, and even the selection of the clips that they did play.

You know you don't.

God's hand is in there somewhere.

Who was the person who was the production assistant?

Who was the person in master control that said, these are the clips that we're going to make.

And then after the fact to learn that somehow what you had thought they were going to talk about were the questions that you had submitted.

That didn't happen.

You were a living example again.

And let me point out what I saw.

The scripture just came pouring out when you were talking number one, out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.

You didn't need any bullet points.

God had written all of this on the tablet of your heart, and you've talked about it for decades.

It flowed out of you because it's what you believe.

It's in your spiritual DNA.

The second thing, too, is your prayer was exactly Jeremiah's prayer of old.

Your words in my mouth.

Oh, God, your words in my mouth.

I don't think that could have gone better the way it was done.

And I know that you and I both agree.

All of that honor and glory and praise goes to the Lord.

But the gospel was preached.

And just like Brother Paul in the New Testament, whether it's a Coliseum or on the deck of a sinking ship, when you had the opportunity, do not hesitate to declare God's message of truth and love and judgment and heaven and hell.

Does it concern you that you go to hell today if you died?

It does concern me.

Okay.

Now, what did God do for guilty sinners like you and me so we wouldn't have to go to hell?

Yes.

He died on the cross for our sins.

Now, even the devil knows that.

Most of America knows that.

But you've got to appreciate what he did.

We broke the law.

Jesus paid the fine.

That's my friend Ray comfort.

Being bold for the Gospel at Cal State Fullerton, one of the participants at a Turning Point USA event.

I want to just kind of get your impressions generally about whether or not something's happening.

And then I want to get into the particulars of why it is you so rightfully, and I am now such a strong convert to this.

You don't appeal to the intellect, you appeal to the conscience.

That's a point you made on Fox when you were talking to Trace Gallagher.

I want to go back to that in a minute, but just give me the atmospherics.

First of all, you were surprised, too, at the crowd.

You know, you've walked with the Lord a long time.

To what do you attribute this?

I know that we now are a country that witnessed a man get murdered on national television, and that obviously raises curiosity, interest and concern all at once.

But why do you think so many people turned out on a secular college campus to see what was going to happen at this event?

I'm not sure.

Except Jack Hibbs did it.

Did a, Did, uh, send out a whatever.

It's an ex.

Um, the Cal State Fullerton did a quick, uh, poster just after I said, let's do this.

So they made up a poster real quick, and it had a profile of me to the left, profile to the right, and a front on profile.

And I thought, that's great for someone to shoot me.

They know exactly what.

It was absolutely perfect.

I thought, that's really good.

So anyway, we made another poster for them using our graphic artists.

And, um, but Jack Hibbs, when I just says, uh, you're good with security, what's his security?

Should we get.

He didn't even answer me.

He just tweeted out, Ray Comfort's going to be at this.

And he's got a big following.

And, uh, that's local.

That's Chino Hills is close to Fullerton, reasonably.

And so that was another reason so many turned out.

But there were a lot of non-Christians there, because when a transsexual or whatever she was got up and started going about something, the crowd cheered for her.

And I thought, boy, that's good.

That tells us where the fish are, because you really don't want to be surrounded by Christians is the saying we have preaching to the converted, which is a way of saying futility, and we really don't want to be doing that.

And that was one of my fears that we'd be preaching to the converted.

But we weren't, which was wonderful.

Yeah.

And I think, as I said on Fox, coronavirus, the coronavirus did a great service for the church because it made a whole generation face their mortality and previous generations.

Death is for the elderly, but they've seen that death is also for young people.

There's a lot of young people dying and it scares them and makes them open their heart.

And often when I go to the local college, that's the first thing I say to people you're afraid of dying.

And they say, yes.

And I said, do you know the Bible, the dresses that says, why we die, how you can find everlasting life?

Are you interested?

And they more than often are.

And so it's it's wonderful that we've got a field out there that's ripe under harvest.

As Jesus said, we've just got to take that sickle and learn how to cut into the harvest field.

Mhm.

Well, speaking of that field, you know, my heart was touched.

You're the father of three grown children.

Um, and you saw.

These groaning, groaning children.

Groaning.

Yes.

More or the parent groans when, dad, can you lend me a few bucks I get I know how that goes.

But as these young people came up, my heart broke because I thought this girl studying biology and this one is going to be a, you know, poli sci major and this one's doing econ, and they come up with these questions.

And yet there was a there was a brokenness to so many of these kids who came up, muslims who came up, a woman who identified herself as bisexual.

They wanted to get entangled in the issue of homosexuality.

Um, and yet they just that idea of going back again to that hole in their heart, you did a superb job.

And I think this is just, first of all, the Lord's grace, mercy and his instruction in your life.

But it's instructive to me to watch you do it is that you didn't get entangled in the first question, which could have been political in nature.

You moved that aside, and you gently got right to the core question again about, you know, whether or not you're a sinner.

Do you know where you'd go tonight when you die?

This is a ridiculous question because I'm sure it's just like asking somebody, how do you dance for the Joffrey Ballet?

You just.

You know how to dance.

You know how to dance this.

But how do you get the wisdom?

Teach us to say I don't want.

That's not the question that I should be answering right now.

You have such wisdom saying, move it to the right question off of the wrong question.

Yeah, it's difficult to do for the human ego because you don't want to seem like a one something, one dance pony.

What's the saying?

One trick pony.

You've got me dancing with the ballet business.

You wrecked my analogy.

A dancing pony, one trick pony.

Because.

But I want to preach Christ and Him crucified.

That's what Paul said.

I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

The gospel is the power of God to salvation.

So we've got to get to the gospel because Jesus said, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

And what we've got to do is understand that apologetics, argumentative defenses for Christianity are like bait.

When you go fishing, you do not just go with bait because you're going to end up with fat, happy fish that get away.

You've got to disguise the hook.

So I will use evolution for a couple of moments just to bake my hero.

And then I want to bring the hook in.

And you do that by simply saying, do you think you're a good person?

What's going to happen to you when you die?

You're going to heaven.

And when they say, I'm a good person, that's when you bring in the light of the law to show them themselves in their true light.

Often I've said the law is like a mirror.

When we get up in the morning, we go to the mirror to see what damage has been done during the night.

And when you see a pale face, puffy eyes, outstanding hairstyle, you go from the mirror to the water to wash.

And God's law is like a mirror.

It reflects that we're all as an unclean thing, and all our righteous deeds are as filthy rags.

And we go from the mirror of the law to the water of the blood of Christ, to wash the law is a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.

So what we need to do is imitate Jesus.

Don't get caught up in the intellect because that's the place of argument.

Carnal mind is enmity against God.

Bible says, we're enemies of God and our minds through wicked works.

When you move to the conscience by saying, are you a good person and going through the commandments, you stir up the judge on the courtroom of the mind, that conscience that God's given to every man and it accuses shows us we're in trouble and we need a savior.

Wow.

Brilliant.

So important.

You don't want to sit this out, do you?

So here is an example, an auditory example.

You can't see anything, but you listen.

So we're going to paint on the canvas of your mind.

This is a young man came up very respectful.

Sweet fella came up and he wanted to ask Ray questions when he was at Cal State Fullerton.

And it went like this.

Have a listen.

So you said you're you're agnostic.

I am agnostic, yes.

I believe in.

God, I do.

I said, is he angry at you?

And what did you say?

I know I am imperfect.

What do you mean imperfect?

Can you be can you give me some specifics?

What are you doing that?

This pleases God.

Uh, I don't go to church too regularly.

If that displeases God, like sin.

Yeah, well.

That too.

I mean.

Have you been born again?

No, I haven't actually.

We want you to be born again.

We want you to enter God's kingdom.

Jesus said this.

Except a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Yes.

So you need to be born again.

I understand.

And the thing that will stop you coming to Christ is your love of sin.

The Bible says we hate God without cause.

We're enemies of God and our mind through wicked works.

Actually says in the book of Romans.

Our mind is in a state of hostility towards God.

Are you hostile towards God?

I'm not very hostile.

I'm pretty small.

I'm not too intimidating.

No, no.

I mean with your mouth or your thoughts.

Are you hostile towards God?

No you're not.

Have you ever used God's name in vain?

Not in recent time.

So you have.

Yes.

Why didn't you just say yes.

I like attention.

In recent times.

Do you love your mum?

Yeah.

Would you ever use her name as a cuss word?

A substitute for human excrement?

Would you use your mother's name in that context?

Please say.

No.

No.

Good.

Because you respect her.

Yeah, but you don't respect the God that gave your mother.

You've taken his holy name and used it in place of a cuss word.

What greater hostility can you have towards anyone than to use their name as a cuss word?

So you're at enmity with God in your mind through wicked works.

That's what the Bible says.

And every time you sin, you're storing up God's wrath.

That's going to be revealed on the day of judgment.

So let's go through those commandments, as we did with our friend before, and see how you're doing.

Yes.

Are you a good person?

I like to think so as well.

Okay.

This is kind of a little bit a little embarrassing for you, Alex.

When did you last look at pornography?

I, I don't remember.

I got a girlfriend.

I don't, I don't remember.

Are you fornicating with your girlfriend?

I guys?

Oh my gosh.

So you don't need porn?

Because now.

Because you're fornicating with your girlfriend.

And the Bible says fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I told you not to be embarrassed.

But think of what's going to happen on the Day of judgment if you're embarrassed in front of human beings.

How much more will you be ashamed on the day of Judgment?

And I don't want that to happen to you.

If you lied and stolen.

Uh oh, uh oh.

I took a I took a gumball from the candy store once when I was nine.

Yeah, I know, I know, yeah.

It's disappointing.

Look.

Alex, let me tell you something.

Yes, sir.

It's human nature to trivialize sin.

I stole something when I was a little kid from a little store.

It was a little piece of candy.

That's what we like, I just.

Oh, yes, and I lied.

I told little white lies.

Just when it comes to lust, I expect guys to say, yeah, I have lust.

But just after little women, nothing big.

We trivialize sin.

But, Alex, you open my wallet and take $1 out.

You're as much a thief as you took if you she took $10 out.

The value of that which you steal is irrelevant to God.

So you've told me you're a liar.

Have you stolen?

You have stolen.

I did.

And blasphemed.

And you're fornicator and an adulterer at heart.

So if God judges you by those ten commandments on Judgment Day, you're going to be innocent or guilty.

Mm.

And we'll get the answer to that question in the next segment.

So let me stop it there, Ray.

So many things go through my mind in this exchange.

First of all, it's and I'll use a good Yiddish term.

It takes a lot of chutzpah for these students to get up to the microphone because they're publicly confessing their sin, the lying, fornicating, etc., taking the Lord's name in vain.

And yet, what I did not hear for a single student was using foul language in return, telling you to take a long walk off a short plank.

I mean, there were all kinds of things they could have said in response, but I think the answer to the question is to the question, why don't they respond in a hostile way is because of you.

I think it's the way in which that you point out the conscience without doing it in such a way that it's, you know, um.

Sackcloth and ashes and an accusatory finger pointed in their nose.

I think it's because you operate under the knowledge that it's the Holy Spirit that does the conviction.

You're just having them stand in front of the mirror.

Talk to me about that.

It's my accent.

Of course.

How foolish of me.

Yes, sir.

I haven't heard that.

I forgot that that went on.

And I heard the guy say.

I did not sign up for this.

Did you hear that?

In the middle.

You got to empathize with them.

Most people, you know, they confess their sins to their mother or something like that.

But to openly with cameras rolling all over the place and public have all that exposed.

But he became very, as you will hear, because the conscience does its duty, it does its work.

So you and I have got an ally right in the heart of the enemy.

You know, when you watch those old war movies, uh, the allies had to contact someone behind enemy lines and they've got a password.

You know, the the green horse jumps over the yellow fence at midnight or something like that, and they say, yes, that's.

And they finish it off.

Well, we've got an ally right in the heart of the enemy.

And the way to stir up the ally to make contact with it is just open up those commandments, because the work of the law is written in their heart, the conscience bearing witness.

So I didn't I wasn't talking about evolution or the existence of God.

I was just speaking directly to that God given conscience.

And that conscience is conscience is on my side.

And you can do the same thing with Uncle Arthur when you're sitting at the table at Christmas.

He's he's anti-God.

And you just say, do you think there's an afterlife?

Let him talk and say, do you think you're a good person?

Well, let's go through those ten commandments and see how you do, and the conscience will do its duty.

And people cannot argue in the face of conscience because it's, uh, it's so powerful.

It drives men to drink and women drives people to suicide.

That feeling of guilt.

And it can be appeased the moment we give our lives to Christ.

But let me underscore again, and why I think I have been blessed with the time I've spent watching you do this, because you are such a wonderful teacher, and I hope I'm an apt pupil, but you never it, even though it is appealing to the conscience what you don't do and why, I think there's such a gentle response for the student after student after student who came to the microphone is because it's not.

And I'll use the phrase again, it's not an accusatory finger that you point in their nose saying, you are, you are.

You're letting the conscience, that ally that you just referred to, that's already inherently in every single one of us, do the convicting.

Is it ever a challenge for you personally to say, I want to make sure that they're not hearing me say, I accuse you, but that you're just appealing to?

If I can put it this way, the mechanics that the Lord has already put in each and every one of us.

Yeah, it takes a little bit of courage at one point, because we tend to want to sympathize with the person we're talking to.

Like, have you ever stolen something?

I have.

Have you ever, uh, told lies?

I've told lies.

We try and console them, but realize that God's a judge.

This is a criminal.

And you want him to feel conviction for his sins.

When Nathan pointed at David, and I presume he would have pointed.

And when he said, you are the man, he didn't say, um, I wouldn't get too upset because I've committed adultery too.

I've lied and stolen.

I've coveted my neighbor's.

No, he didn't sympathize with him.

He let him feel the weight of his own guilt.

And it's a hard thing to do, but you've got to hands off and let that guilt do its work and let it bring contrition.

Because had David been been consoled in his sins, and he may not have seen how serious things were in the sight of God, that's what caused him to say, I've sinned against heaven.

And that's why we've got Psalm 51.

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving kindness, according to the multitude of your tender mercies.

Talked a little bit before about trivializing sin, humanity, human nature tries to spread it out.

Is that the college this morning, two in a row, did the same thing.

Have you lied or.

Yes.

Everybody lies.

Have you ever stolen something?

Yes.

Everybody steals.

It was in the past.

And I asked you the question in the past.

I met you in the past.

Everything's in the past.

Even what I said right now is in the past.

And being in the past doesn't exonerate you of your crimes against God.

And so it's very important to bring it back to personal nature.

You are the man.

This is what Paul did in Romans two.

You say you shall not commit adultery.

Do you commit adultery?

You say, you shall not steal, do you steal?

And so it's very important to be bold, be courageous, and trust God to bring conviction and let that conscience do its God given duty.

Yeah.

Did you learn?

Forgive me for the simplicity of this question, but I really want to know.

Was this someone you studied to do this, or is this the tutorial from the Holy Spirit in your life that this is the right way to do this?

Well, it was like I openly I preached every day, almost every day for about 12 years.

And Speakers Corner in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand.

And I had an opponent called the Wizard who came on the second lunch.

I was on the first.

He was a godless man, but we became friends, took him home for lunch or dinner, and I cut my teeth on having hecklers every day that were waiting to have me for lunch.

Another Christian for lunch and it really helped me.

Plus, I've got Ken Ham who insults me every day and keeps me on my toes.

It was a huge crowd and it's a wonderful opportunity for you and me, even if we couldn't attend in person to learn this approach to sharing the good news, to appeal, as Ray says, not to the intellect, because therein lies conflict, but to the conscience, the ally.

I love that I'll never forget what you just taught us, right?

The ally that's already residing in the heart of every one of us, which is a conscience.

And that conscience will prick us, and we'll understand that we have fallen short.

The Bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

There isn't one, no, not one that's righteous.

So the young man that got to the microphone at this event was a young man, winsome young fella, answering questions.

And Ray did exactly what he just taught us, appealed to the conscience and ended the dialogue by asking him, after pointing out that this young man had broken several of the Ten Commandments, thereby identifying the fact that he, like all of us, was a sinner, that he had fallen short of God's standard of righteousness.

And so Ray Winsomely appealed to him and said, so would you be innocent or would you be guilty?

I want to pick up the conversation at this point.

Listen.

Would you go to heaven or hell?

Uh, you know, I've always tried to live truthfully, and you've.

Always.

Tried to live like I live every day.

Like it is my last.

Not one day.

You're going to be right.

Yeah.

Um.

I try and be a good person.

Everyone.

Regardless of the question.

Yeah.

Will you be innocent or guilty on Judgment Day as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating adulterer at heart?

I'm guilty.

Yeah, but you go to heaven or hell.

I'd probably go to the h e double hockey sticks.

Does that does that concern you?

You might think it's funny, but I don't.

I'm horrified.

I'm not.

I've just met you, and I love you.

I don't want you to go to hell.

It breaks my heart.

I'm serious.

You may not see tears in my eyes.

But there's tears in my voice.

If you die tonight, you sleep.

God will justly damn you in a terrible place called hell.

Jesus said, fear not.

Who has power to kill your body?

And afterwards do no more.

But fear him who has power to kill your body and destroy your soul in hell?

Don't let that happen to you.

So does it concern you that you go to hell today if you died?

It does concern me.

Okay, now, what did God do for guilty sinners like you and me so we wouldn't have to go to hell?

Yes.

He died on the cross for our sins.

Now, even the devil knows that.

Most of America knows that.

But you have got to appropriate what he did.

We broke the law.

Jesus paid the fine.

Like I said to the guy before, if you're in court and someone pays your fine, a judge can legally let you walk free and God can take death off you because of what Jesus did on the cross.

Paying the fine for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

So if you'll repent, turn from sin.

Trust in Jesus right now.

God will wash away your sins and grant you everlasting life as a free gift.

Oh, because of his amazing grace.

So, Alex.

When are you going to repent and put your trust in Jesus?

Uh, as soon as I can today.

Yes.

Are you sorry for your sins?

I'm sorry.

Are you willing to repent and trust in Jesus?

Yeah.

Okay.

Can we bow in prayer?

I'll pray for you.

You don't need to pray.

Okay.

Father, I pray for Alex that this day he'll truly see his sin.

And he may tremble at the thought of sinning against you.

And this day may catch a glimpse of your incredible love you expressed through the cross today.

May he be born again, be given a new heart, new desires, and a love of righteousness and the knowledge he has everlasting life, all because of your amazing grace.

Ray, what's it like for you to hear that back?

For I've heard it so many times.

A one trick pony.

Um, but every day, um, there's going to be shout a shout when Jesus comes.

That's me saying yes.

I'll never have to ask anyone if they've lied anymore.

Um, but yeah, it's such a joy to hear someone who's genuinely repentant and say, today I want to get right with God.

There's more joy in heaven over one sinner who comes to repentance than over 99 righteous persons, as Jesus said.

So it's just wonderful.

And, uh, the wonderful thing is this is going over the internet and people are hearing the gospel and being challenged, and the Apostle Paul would be green with righteous envy to know that what we've got in this modern, technical, technological world to be able to do this.

Mhm.

I've often said that I think Paul would have an account somewhere on some social media platform.

You would take advantage of it.

But to your point, the general greater point on that is something seems to be happening.

I mean, he's not willing that any should perish.

And there is always that remnant, and there's always people who are hungry.

And there continues to be that God shaped void in the heart of every man.

But there's something different.

Right now, it seems, in the American culture.

Give me your take on that.

Yeah.

I think we're coming back to getting a little taste of the fear of the Lord.

And by the way, if the Apostle Paul had a website, it would be chief of sinners.com.

I'm sure.

Yes, indeed, I concur.

That's great.

Yeah, that's what's been missing in America for so long.

A genuine fear of God.

And and it's we've been an idolatrous country where everybody from the president, right down through the politicians, have got this belief in God and appeal to God.

And, you know, let's have a moment of prayer and all this stuff.

And the next minute they blaspheme his name.

And yet, over the last few weeks, after what happened to Charlie Kirk, there's a sobriety.

Come on, people and people are talking about God that didn't normally talk about God.

And Jesus is being exalted.

And like that memorial service for Charlie, that was just awesome.

I was I just couldn't believe it.

I thought, boy, it's talking about Jesus again and again and exalting him and even mentioning the cross and and the hope of the gospel.

So something stirring within this land and for which I thank God.

Yeah.

Amen to that.

Couldn't agree more, Ray.

You have a Bible verse, you have your thoughts on the verse, and at the end you have a short period of prayer.

I went back to the Amplified Bible.

So when you read it, read it a little louder.
