Speaker 1

Oh god, beer everywhere.

Oh beer explosion.

Speaker 2

Deve, my good man, How the devil are you?

Speaker 1

Oh good, buddy, how are you?

Speaker 2

I'm very good.

I've got a very beery pop filter now after that explosion, there but a pop filter.

Imply, Steve, we are in the same room once again.

Speaker 1

You're right there.

I can throw things at.

Speaker 2

You, you can throw things at it.

And it's weird as well, because you're not in your normal seat.

You're normally over to my right and I'm kind of an angle strategy.

But today you're saying on the table opposite.

Speaker 1

Me, just because you're back civilized gentlemen, and we would sit at the same table.

Speaker 2

It does feel like a very intimate record.

Speaker 1

Yeah, this feels more.

We should have recorded it so can see.

Yeah, normally I sit over there at the desk.

Word normally, but I thought, no, you know what, I'm going to sit with Tim.

He's back.

I appreciate the effort.

Man.

It's nice.

It's good to be It's good to have me back, buddy.

Yeah, it's nice.

Speaker 2

Drove back yesterday, so a thirteen hour drive.

Not the longest it's ever taken.

That was twenty two hours, and not the shortest.

I did it in an eleven forty five when oh, that was just me I didn't have in the car, so it's a bit less incentive to I don't want to say, stick to the speed limits because obviously I wouldn't speed, but there's roads that you can do sixty ymbreds bit hairy, let's put it that way.

Speaker 1

So thinking of protecting your good.

Speaker 2

Lady exactly, exactly, yeah, and really just protected me.

She's not very happy if I drive too fast.

Speaker 1

Oh no, yeah you don't.

I don't want that grieve.

Speaker 2

Hours, yeah exactly.

But now the drive was pretty uneventful, so that was nice.

Speaker 1

Good.

Yeah, got pack okay, and it's just been a day of unpacking.

Stead pretty mad six years stuffed into a small little car.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the car was full now, but I had probably i'm going to call it a letterbox view out of my rear view mirror, so I could just about see what was behind me.

I didn't realize how much I used back windows, especially likely the back passenger windows, especially when I'm like on ways until carriageways, so like to check the blind spot, and I've blocked all those obviously, So I was like, well, fuck, I've got Essentially, I've got a tiny view window here that I can see and everything else is blind spot.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

It's only when you block it off in a car that suddenly you're like, well, shit, yeah, I use this well, like I'm used to the van.

Yeah, so I'm not too bad.

But I'll get in the car and I'm like, one hand over the if I'm reversing, one hand over the back of the passenger seat, looking at all windows.

Speaker 2

Yeah exactly, the classic man reverse.

Speaker 1

Yeah, reverse.

And it's certainly when you take it away, you're like, well ship.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, I use everything.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

But then I had that experience the first time I got out of a got into a car looking at the mirrors when they've been on a motorpike for so many and then I was like, well you could see everything in the car, a big, big world.

Yeah exactly, it's stuff behind me.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

I was like, I feel like I'm contained, and I don't like that.

However, I can see everything in a way I've never been able to before.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you're not stuff in that little tiny lid, looking at the post box at the front.

No, exactly, the physically telling yourself chickner was behind me before I move yeah quite.

Speaker 2

But yeah, so that's that's me, Steve down back here for the next three weeks or so, and then we'll be back to online recordings because I've been knowing them and.

Speaker 1

He didn't stay put for long.

I don't like to stay put for very long.

It depends where I am to be fair in my own space.

Speaker 2

We're obviously not in our own space here.

That's back for Seri's mum for a little while.

So that's I adore Mhich is a lovely woman.

The house is lovely and clean.

Speaker 1

It's just very small.

Yeah, yeah, yes, but welcome to myrow world.

Yeah quite quite.

Stuff didn't here are two little boys, bless them.

Stuff every with it exactly.

Yeah, but there we go.

Speaker 2

That's a lot of the fun.

That's the the trade off I make for not wait and other people to pay mortgage for me.

Speaker 1

I don't pay mortgage.

I went to sleep on.

Speaker 2

So exactly exactly.

You know, it's not a bad decade of my life.

I've only been pulled that off four so probably continue for a little while longer.

Speaker 1

Yet why not.

I don't blame you.

But anyway, Steve, Yes, how was your weekend?

It was good, It was very good.

Yeah, lots of motorbikes to be watched with the super bikes this weekend as well, BSB BSB so yeah, watch that got up erely watch the races was long days.

Yeah.

I didn't make mistake this time and tried to stay up all night for Japan.

Last year.

I did it the other week.

Oh okay, and then fell miserably.

I had a nap on the sofa at the races time ship.

Well I missed the other two.

Yeah, I did it the other year and then it was a mistake.

I remember staying up for Japan and then it got to like midday, I was like, I'm dying.

Yeah, I can't do this anymore.

It was fun.

It was fun to stay up and if you can interact really well with like the commentators at that point in the war, if you're in the ukation message so I'm staying up and they love it.

But then by the rest of the day and so I was running around.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I remember years ago coming back in from like being our club and stuff and back in.

You know, by the time you leave the club at three year, then if you're at Norwige, you're not getting taxi back to here.

Speaker 1

Till four exactly.

Speaker 2

At that point in the racing starts.

If your time it, well, you can just stumble into the house.

It would be very quickly, put the toaster on with Mike, crive, get some food and just sit down and watch three hours of racing.

Speaker 1

If we go to bed, Yeah, it's perfect.

Those days are longer.

Speaker 2

It's a nice time of year though, because it's still almost dark when you're finally going to bed.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Yeah, suddenly we're experiencing what it's like for everyone else around the world.

Exactly.

Yeah, we're very sport being in Europe for racing, the time scale of things.

Speaker 2

But maybe yeah, exactly, I'll go to complain about it from my own first hand experience.

Speaker 1

Season.

I'm just going to say, next year you're going to be really in the thick of it.

Yeah, watching it on a Monday morning.

Speaker 2

Oh, it's gonna be weird, mate, It's gonna be weird.

Speaker 1

But there we go.

Speaker 2

That's a problem for next year.

Worry about that host Christmas problem exactly exactly.

Christmas is the big problem to face before then.

Y.

Speaker 1

Yeah, Christmas is always a problem.

Speaker 2

Quite anyway, Steve, there has been racing.

So shall we dive in let's go for it, Bunny good stuff.

So I'm Tim, he's Steve, and this is for the love of Moto GP.

Speaker 1

If you are new.

Speaker 2

To the show, welcome, and if you are returning, welcome back.

This is for the love of Moto GP, the show where Steve and I sit down with a couple of beers and talk about Moto GP like we would in the pub.

I'm desperately trying to write out notes while I was saying that, and I've just written exactly what I said, and that's not what I.

Speaker 1

Was like that.

I've seen people do it, but there's like one handed talking to mic, just like tapping away.

Yeah, double Trader thought, I'm just like, No.

Speaker 2

I can listen to someone else talk and I can touch type, so I can listen to the talk and be looking at them and just typing away doing something else.

But I can't talk and type something differently.

Speaker 1

No.

No.

I can audio transcribe, yeah, quite easily.

I think that's quite quite easy.

But I couldn't talk and write something different quite have the zone out of one and we came back in the room.

What Yeah, exactly, I missed this whole thing.

Speaker 2

That's why I was just focused enough on what I was saying that I didn't get lost, but what I wrote would make no sense.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm very similar.

Yeah, but we.

Speaker 2

Are together again, Steve.

As we said, we're on the tenants.

I brought you some tenants back to Scotland.

That's rather nice as well.

It's all right, it's just Scottish foster.

Scottish foster, isn't It's just that kind of basic larger that is popular because it's not unpleasant.

It's not the best beer in the world.

It's certainly not the worst, and it's not one of those beers that you crack it open and then it's flat.

At least it stays busy for a while.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

No, it's nice, it's pleasant.

I'm enjoying it.

I have got some Aussie fosters.

We run out, you've got the real foster.

Speaker 2

I've brought the Scottish fosters, and I brought enough Scottish fosters back.

Speaker 1

That we can still have that next week too.

Oh he's teasing.

So we're all good.

Speaker 2

We're all good on the Fosters of the world right now.

Speaker 1

If we really fall in love with it, we might have to make a pilgrimage.

Speaker 2

I don't know where you get it, and I'm sure in England.

I'm seeing it in London, Like that wedding you went.

Speaker 1

To in London, they had loads of they had tons of it.

Speaker 2

There must be somewhere you can get it, but I've never seen it in supermarkets in England.

In the north, I imagine you did get it close to the border.

Speaker 1

But yeah, so that wedding, there was a lot of true Scottish who would come down, so I wouldn't be surprised they didn't bring yeah with them because there was a lot of yellow cans.

In a boat that's the way to do it.

Yeah, got a boat in the garden.

Oh it's full of beers.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so beer boat that's what we like.

Speaker 1

Yeah, beer whiskey and guinness and ice.

Yeah.

Yeah, these guys were a bit nuts.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's a that's a heavy that's basically a meal right there.

Speaker 1

Yes, there was a lot of tones.

Speaker 2

I wonder if tenants you know, is a bit like the cod haddock line, like the south of the UK where they only eat cod, up to the top of Scotland where they only eat haddock, and then as you travel south to north you just see a percentage like it will rise, you'll hit like the Midlands, and it might be a fifty to fifty split or maybe forty sixty whatever.

I wonder if Tenants appears in places that sell more Haddock, I bet you could correline.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

I wouldn't be surprised, you know, if Haddock sales and Tenants sales kind of match quite nicely.

Speaker 1

That is very true.

I haven't considered that.

I had not considered that, but yeah, I think you're probably right.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's me combining two of my great loves.

Speaker 1

Yeah and Chips on the website.

Apparently it's readily available around here.

Speaker 2

Oh okay maybe wait waitros Gabbott.

Speaker 1

Yeah, Morrison's have it, do they?

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Well okay, maybe it's just Sainsbury's Littles that don't.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's it's local test Goes.

It is literally Sainsbury's and Little Don't.

Speaker 2

Wow.

Okay, well there we go.

There's the two supermarkets I used frequently.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, they don't, so we may have.

We're going to track down on Tescos.

Speaker 2

There's one, there's several in Norwich.

Speaker 1

There's a massive one in the Norwich.

We'll be all right, we'll find some.

Speaker 2

We've got enough to keep going anyway.

Speaker 1

Yes, we're not going to run out.

Don't fear people.

Speaker 2

So we did have a race weekend, Steve as said a few times already as I try and bring us back to that, And it was an interesting race weekend across all the classes.

Speaker 1

Actually it was.

There's a lot going on.

There's a lot happened.

Yeah, a lot happened this weekend, like you say, across all three classes.

Loads of talking points if you really want to dive into all of them.

We could be here all night.

Speaker 2

We could be here all night, but we will try not to be.

Speaker 1

No.

No, we've got enough beer on stock for exactly.

Speaker 2

I've got a carry bag for so you know, if we have to go on an extended break to go for orige more beer.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we've got long enough cables.

I'm sure we could make it round.

Speaker 2

The And we just moved to recording on our phones briefly.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's just being me, Like now I need to go inside and get the best.

Don't wick anyone up, don't disturb the cat.

Yeah, just facelarting into the so as putt usual, we will touch on a few news items.

Speaker 2

We'll go through our top fives in Moto three and Moto two, and then we'll get into the Moti GP Top fives, both this print and the Grand Prix, and just touch on some talking points and just see where the conversation takes us.

So I've been busy a couple of days, so my show notes aren't quite as robust as usual.

Speaker 1

That's absolutely fine, mate.

I was expecting to just to riff on it and just go for it.

Speaker 2

That's fair.

Speaker 1

Well.

Speaker 2

I kind of thought about that, and then I listened to a couple of podcasts and I was like, oh, no, a lot happened.

There was a little touch on, So I'm going to have to yeah, actually put some notes together.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there was a lot happening.

Speaker 2

So let's start then in the order it's on the show notes.

So it's going to be a little bit all over the place to start with, but in fact I'm not going to do that.

First, we only give a shout out to a few young riders.

Yes, an impressive season for few of the I call them friends of the podcast.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we've had them on the show exactly, so we will embrace them in exactly.

Speaker 2

They can become part of the for the love of Motive GP family.

Yes, first up Ethan Sparks.

Now we had Ethan on the show once.

It was that last year year before believe it was ether four.

Okay, so Ethan, young guy was coming up in the racing world.

He has been racing for the first time this year in the British Talent Cup series.

Is one of the downer talent Yeah, Rhodes Motor GP exactly that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2

And at the first time of asking in his rookie year, Ethan has gone and won it, earning himself an automatic place into Red Bull Rookies for twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1

Mate, I've watched these races over the weekend and the little dude crushed it.

It was amazing, cracking racing.

I've never really watched a full rows before.

Always had to flow ridden out of it a little bit, which is annoying.

But I thought, right, you could wrap it up this weekend, We're going to sit down and watch it.

We had to because it was the last race.

Oh my god, they're racing, these little dude.

They put on such a good show.

It was unbelievable.

Some of the passing, rubbing elbows.

Speaker 2

Out sometimes it was properably nice to see.

Speaker 1

Most is chaotic.

Yeah, yeah, these guys were really put another show, and yeah, Ethan brought it home, won the championship, world mate.

Speaker 2

Good job, absolutely cracking performance.

Also another friend of the podcast, Hudson Kite Cooper.

We've had Hudson on three or four times.

Speaker 1

Tis Yeah, well probably we'll have to get all these guys on again.

Yes, you have to catch up over Christmas.

Speaker 2

And yeah, over over the window season.

So yeah, I see if we can get time with them all.

But yeah, Hudson Cooper won the a c U, which is the Auto Cycle Union.

Yeah, Ninja four hundred Junior Cup.

So another amazing performance.

Championship winners from both of those guys this year.

Speaker 1

They're crushing it.

Speaker 2

Two young lads coming up Brits hopefully going to make their way.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they're already doing great things.

Speaker 2

Exactly.

Ethan's well on that pathway.

And we've been teased as to what Hudson could be up to next year, but we know nothing yet.

Speaker 1

Typical dad post on Facebook, planning we'll share something.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly a little bit more.

Yeah, quite so we don't know what they're doing next year.

We know they're doing something.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you can't just walk away from this.

Oh no, absolutely not, No, that'd be crazy.

I feel like stopping then.

Speaker 2

What yeah, dad, racing dad all of a.

Speaker 1

Sudden, No, yeah, we'll strapping you to a bog.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly.

This is the now I'm not accusing really, isn't it Hudson's dad.

Yeah, absolutely, not accusing him of anything like this, but very famously, Max for Stappen's father, jos for Stappen, once when they were coming back from a race that Max did bad at just left them at service station.

Really, yeah, you did badly.

I'm not dealing with this.

Just left in the just drove off.

Speaker 1

That's a bit much, isn't it.

Speaker 2

That's why when I make a joke about racing dads, they're kind of that pageant mum kind of that's what I think.

And I'm like, you know what I mean.

Maxim's dad apparently have a really good relationship now and reportedly always have done.

But that feels like that's verging on No, okay, that's verging on not okay, I mean that's definitely not.

Speaker 1

I mean, there's a limit.

Bloody hell.

Speaker 2

Talk about pressure, great, I mean forcing your kids to go out and go kart in on slick tires in the wet That's one thing you see, that's happened to a lot of great champions who just could never afford maybe wet tires, so we just went out and slicks all the time.

But gives them amazing car control.

Speaker 1

And yeah, there's skills to be learned through.

Speaker 2

That, exactly.

I'm sure much like tracking and in the kind of motor GP and stuff or most hycle racing is kind of that experience of feeling what the cars or the bike or the car is doing exaggerated.

So and you know, Max was Stapping is arguably now the greatest car driver we have ever seen.

The guy went and fucking out of nowhere, took his own team to do the nourburg Ring GT three race in endurance four hours six hours kind of but won that first time of asking.

Of course he did before he the weekend before he had to go and do a special nourburg Ring license to prove that he was capable of driving a GT three car around the ne Ring.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly, I love that fact.

Who are you?

Speaker 2

Yeah, Well, I mean previously I think it was two or three weeks before, no, maybe a couple of months ago, he went to the nourburg Ring and set a lap record, but did it under a false name that he was there.

Afterwards, everyone was like, wow.

Speaker 1

What's this?

What's this?

You again all.

Speaker 2

Ship exactly, So even with that, they're like, well, you've still got to prove your safe to drive.

We know you're a full time Formula One world champion, maybe the best driver's ever lived.

Speaker 1

But yeah, I suppose there's protocol and boxes that need to be tied exactly we live in.

But yeah, getting back to Hudson, amazing job, mate, world on congratulations teasers, a little bit more, tell us what you plan if we can quite congratulations mate, well done, and.

Speaker 2

You know, if you want to do a big announcement then we're always here for a podcast chat.

But in my mind and finally, Steve, one more rider I would like to touch on here Chloe Jones.

Well, we talked about Ethan Sparks and Hudson, Kai Cooper.

It would be rude to also not include Chloe in this.

We've had Chloe on the show, so she's always been wonderful to chat with as well, and she is absolutely crushing it.

Speaker 1

Girl mate.

Speaker 2

So she's in the World Women's Circuit Residence Circuit racing the sea to me always should be championship, So I'm confused by the fact of its circuit.

But yes, the World w c R she's currently it's a rookie season, isn't it?

Speaker 1

Yep?

Full Timeies wild card last year, that's right, was it, Donnington?

I think it was at the end of the year.

Okay, remember putting out a post saying at full time ride next year and who we are.

So I'm not claiming anything.

Speaker 2

Fun quite but you know, rookie season fourth also at least three points off third right now, and compared to the rider she's against for that third fourth battle, Chloe appears to be on form rider right now, so.

Speaker 1

Years right now?

Yeah, four second place finishes on the bounce, with two of those coming from pole positions as well.

Yeah, the girl is.

Speaker 2

Rapid, yeah quite very very rapid and having just an amazing season over in the world.

Speaker 1

I mean, what an experience quite mix it up with the best ladies in the world again to mix in the paddock, Yeah, with the world superbike races, super sport races, everyone being in amongst that circuit.

Speaker 2

What an experience exactly, and you know what she's impressing, Like I impressively, not kidding.

I listened to Paddock Pass podcast all the time and they do moorgip and World Superpike episodes.

I always listened to the World Superpike ones even though I really watch it.

But every now and again they've mentioned her and they are everyone seems to be really impressible.

Speaker 1

She's doing over there, So yeah, did wonderful things.

She may not be out of win it.

This year.

We shutly finished third.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly three points on the cards, two races left to go, one round, two races left.

Speaker 1

Breath.

Yeah, I have reath in two weeks, seventeenth weekend and seventeenth and nineteenth.

I think super Bikes go this weekend to oh my god, that's the real that's the one which will be again fantastic, So we'll be watching that.

Yeah, another weekend away.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and I seem top Rack can wrap the championship up this weekend, but I believe so.

I think it would need we used to happen to Booger for that to be the case.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

I've watched quite a bit of Superbikes this year and it's been fantastic.

Yeah, it's really been good.

Watch a lot more bsb as well.

That's been incredible.

Speaker 2

Who do you think is going to step up in super bikes next year, because obviously there's a huge changing regard going on.

There's a lot of mix and stuff's happening.

Like do you think BMW are going to have any chance at retaining a title without top rack?

I don't think can anyone challenge Bootlegger like a we expect Niko Lacona to come in and be fighting Booleger for the title.

Speaker 1

It's such a big shake up.

I've not followed it fully like I used to back in night the best way to put it without making sales sound.

Speaker 2

For thirty years ago, you could say, Steve.

Speaker 1

Make yourself feel better, and there's you rolling in like I was ten.

Speaker 2

Mate, late nineties.

I won't even ten mate, Jesus, oh.

Speaker 1

My god, I won't tell you that I was nineteen in the year two thousand.

Speaker 2

Well quite, that's the thing.

I'd have been ninety.

I there's ten years between us.

Speaker 1

The Lord, yeah, lordly lord, I feel very old.

We need to sit down.

Speaker 2

A true childhood without internet and smartphones?

Speaker 1

Oh mate, mate.

I can remember going out so happy about my first phone, mobile phone.

I remember going to work thinking this is freedom because everyone wanted to get hold of you had to ring the office, and you're just like if someone come out holding the phone, I'll be like, no, fuck that.

Speaker 2

Now you have the ability to scream the calls.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, I'm not here.

Yeah.

I don't know.

It's gonna be such a big shake up with the guard change of the ranks next year that I think it's just almost not a complete reset, but there's a there's a given, and like Bullger is going to be there and be fantastic, you know, and it looks good.

Speaker 2

See, I feel like it's that ship season looking on paper on paper.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but he's just always there, don't You've taken out a couple of big names in a way.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 2

I'm not convinced he's got a ride next year.

I don't think anything's confirmed yet.

Speaker 1

I don't think it is.

But if he's still there, I think he's gonna be a problem for Trugi.

He's always in the mix and what he can do.

Yeah, obviously, Miguel, Yeah, he's going across.

It's gonna be interesting.

It's gonna be interesting.

I like these kind of big shuffle ups where you're like, I don't know, yeah, exactly.

I really like this because it just leaves so many questions.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but that's why part of the reason this year emoty piecement so much fun.

Speaker 1

Yes, we have the big yeah, the big shake up.

It's been good and next year it's going to be fantastic across all boards as long as no one's injured and everyone you know, doesn't go across in this winner quite everyone heals up nicely.

Speaker 2

And you know, it's mad to me that speaking of like not going across in the winter, that over do Catty's launch weekend.

They take everyone skiing, I know, like every year, like and again, I've already brought Formula one up here, but I'm gonna do it again because in all the Formula one contracts they're not allowed to other extreme sports.

Part of that contract is you do not ski, you do not snowboard, you do not mountain bike, you do not do these sports have got high risk.

Speaker 1

There was a time when they were talking in a GP about stopping it.

Yeah, well, you know, you couldn't trade motocross over the winter because it's such a big injury rate.

It does surprise me as well, but you know, you can go play tennis or checkers.

Yeah, that's about it, because they are high risk sports.

You see injuries all the time, like downhillun madness, mate, absolutely sane.

But even like road cyclings madness.

Speaker 2

Look at they're flying along sixty mile an hour sometimes with likecra and like a helmet that you're even going to protect your face if you come down hard.

Speaker 1

Yeah, then you get the one of absolute traumas.

Speaker 2

Nikki, Well, yeah, yeah, that's completely We're not even including cars and other things.

Speaker 1

So you know, there's big risk factors.

So it is surprising that to keep the riders safe, these guys don't put something in the contract or they say like, if you do it, it has to be at a certain road where's it's busy or on a closed circuit.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, these guys do get quite a bit of leeway.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

I think that's part of the just the image of motorcycle racing a bit.

Speaker 1

Better rock and roll, exactly, a bit more better boy, Yeah exactly.

I really like it, and I think that is part of the drawer.

You know, bikes are supposed to be bad.

Yeah, We're all supposed to be slugging down fifty beers, smoking fags and off you go.

Yeah, great, riding stupid bikes that we've built in the shed.

Speaker 2

Yes, yeah, that's a.

Speaker 1

Real old school that's my way of doing it.

Open face lid with a pipe.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you and g Coulon just hanging out there hacking bits off with a hackle.

Speaker 1

I love it.

I've got bits over there.

Yeah.

Speaker 2

You have not been showing me those this time, but I have seen all of those and showing that.

Speaker 1

You could go pick a piece up if you want.

That's exciting.

Man handle a bit of steel.

Nice.

Speaker 2

That's why that's a very manly We'll get the oxy settling, torch out holes and stuff come back smelling of oil and metal fumes.

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, slight tangent story here.

I'll try to sort the electrics on my bike.

Speaker 2

Old like me, how many electrics is there?

Well, there's there's a battery of starting motor and a couple of lights.

Speaker 1

There's a break light.

Okay, that's it.

But they didn't when it's idling.

Of course, mag kick stuff.

I noticed the other day.

I was like break life, so dull.

I put the garage in darkness, shut the doors, the curtains across, closed the door, started the bike.

I said, this is really weird.

And I sat there and I was reving it.

I was like, the lights come up, the lights go down.

Oh we've got a problem, right, you know, wrong, but something is wrong.

I'm going to have to say the Dinamo.

I'm going to rewrap it.

I was like, oh God, here we go.

Turned the bike off.

It was only at that point I was like, well, ship, I've been ten minutes in this garage with all these fumes ie puke around the back of the go.

Oh wow, mate, I'm running that thing on jungle juice.

So it's on eating with lead active and all this other shit jumped in.

I was like, break leaner, Yeah, we had three sons.

Speaker 2

Well you're just hitting three body problems there straight away.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

I was like, oh my god, sitting in my mum's swing chair, just like world of slow down in a minute.

This does not feel nice.

Speaker 2

Why people do this?

Speaker 1

This was not a good idea.

Next job was took up like a big pipe out of the window.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you want to be careful that if you're hooking that.

If you're taking like a just a hose pipe or something into a garage and then seeing all the doors and then starting an engine, people could be like, oh fuck in there.

Speaker 1

Yeah, basically what I was doing, I was poisoning myself.

I believe you give it a thought.

I was.

I need to see it in the darkness.

It's the middle of the day.

I was like, I have a solution.

Speaker 2

I'metically seal this garage and then start the bike and I'm sure it'll be fine.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Taping the doors up, Yeah, that's not a good day.

I come out of whoa.

Speaker 2

You know, sometimes Steve, you just need to get a bit high.

Speaker 1

So I was high.

Speaker 2

Yeah, not the nicest of high, is an exhaust fume high.

Speaker 1

But no, no, it was all the additive though.

Yeah it smells quite sweet at the time.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but it's just poisoning you.

Speaker 1

It was that hit of fresh airs.

That door was like, yeah, oh god, what have I done to myself?

The sun just went like big, Yeah, I just got like ten times big.

I was like, oh, well, there we go.

Speaker 2

We've learned a lot today, young riders who come on the podcast to do amazing things with their careers afterwards.

And if you are completely out of drink and drugs, just shut yourself in a room with an old bike for a little while.

Yeah, fine, that's actually that's exclusive content over on Patreon, Steve's guide to Almost killing yourself but not quite.

Speaker 1

Ye, that bad day.

Speaker 2

Speaking of bad days, let's seamless move it on here.

That's kind of a young rider chat in.

What we're saying is do, in fact, come on the podcast if you are a young rider, let's look in to do great things with your career because we're obviously a very good launch pad.

Speaker 1

Yes, so yeah, we've done all right.

Speaker 2

We've got champions in various classes and people racing on the world stage now that have been on the show.

Speaker 1

So yes, excellent.

Congratulations to you all.

Speaker 2

Exactly, the all three of you, just cracking job, well done.

Speaker 1

Yes, we are watching your careers with great interest, exactly.

Speaker 2

We are, indeed, and please do obviously we know Hudson's been doing this already, but the other two as well, that Ethan and Chloe.

If you want to jump into Facebook group and just pop things in there about what you're doing, just to keep all listeners up the show, a bit of self promotion exactly, and think quite a lot of listens seem quite invested in these folks.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, I think like all things, you know, we've had had the guys on several times.

You do get a little bit invested in their careers and you want to know, like we had Chloe on at one point when she was out of a run.

Speaker 2

Yeah quite.

That's amazing, isn't as you can think.

Speaker 1

About, yeah, struggling to find a right for next year and then here we are.

Yeah, you know, the girls doing great things and people do ask you know how these guys doing?

Speaker 2

Yeah quite, but yeah, Hudson's pretty good and his dad as well.

We get a lot in the Facebook group from them.

Speaker 1

Yeah yeah, dive in yeah quite.

Promote yourselves, feel.

Speaker 2

Free and any other young riders do you know, even if you don't want to come on the show, you just to come and join Facebook group and just make selves known and let people know what you're doing.

And there's a lot of supporting there for grassroots racing.

Speaker 1

There is a lot of supporting there for grass Oh.

Speaker 2

Oh god, that was some big words.

Speaker 1

Steve's half back in the garret tenants mate, I'm gonna have to get back on the Aussie Fosters.

Speaker 2

I think it's basically the same pert ingredients lists, all the same stuff.

Oh no, this is zero point two percent strong.

I think Foster's is three point eight.

Speaker 1

We've got a whole bottle of bubbly in there as well.

Correct man, this is going to be a hell of the show.

Speaker 2

Let's move it on then, Steve one more news Newsy item.

I want to touch on before we hit the racing here.

And this is just injuries, man, Like this is getting silly.

Speaker 1

I don't even know where to begin with this one.

Speaker 2

Well, let's begin with last year as well.

Champion Joe Martin will be missing another round.

He will be out for Australia.

No confirmation if we be back for Sapang yet.

Speaker 1

No.

A broken collar bone, mate, he could be out for at a while.

Yeah, it's not the worst one in the world.

Operate quick operation.

Yeah.

It was quite a bad break.

Yeah, it was quite a bad break.

It was definitely separated there.

Guys, when you come off you get an injury like this and you're just coming off the back of all that massive injury that he's had.

The whole body is fucked.

The right side is screwed.

There was I think I mentioned that last week.

There was the picture of someone put out on the socials of an X ray of it also and left hand side lovely, nice clean ribs and all this jams right outside.

You could see the ones that have been broken and how they'd reheal but slowly out.

It's just nuts.

The guy's been through a lot of he's been through the rigor this year.

At this point, I'll just be like, I'm going home and sitting out.

It's yeah, come back for the test and that's it.

And that's what everyone's saying about another rider.

Yes, who's beaten to hell this year?

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Quite, but yeah we have to and see it with Martin, who knows.

I imagine the most patients come back.

Speaker 1

Isn't it all that strong?

At the minute, I'm probably like I'm you know, I'm invested in a new series on Netflix exactly.

I have a prior date with Downton Abby.

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Quite, that's my winter.

Now next up then I Gora and vinale Is.

They both missed Mandalika.

I missed the whole weekend and the Sprint and Grand Prix is what Mav missed.

Mav did take part on Friday, he did do qualifying and then the pain was just too much and stop, so he stopped.

And MAV will miss both Australia and Malaysia.

That is confirmed.

I haven't seen in the news about I yet as to whether he's going to Australia or not, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, bless him.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's not good for either of those, especially with your Prillierian so so good this weekend.

Speaker 1

No, it's such a shame the ktms.

To be fair, the ktms look pretty great as well.

They did.

Yeah, all were performing pretty well.

But that's brazy.

That's the way it goes.

If you're going to get injured, it's a risk while you're off your your manufacturers can perform well.

So yeah, quite typical.

This is just you can't.

So I'm going to be completely injury free this year because it will go down.

No, So it's just one of those things.

But hopefully, you know, these guys could rest up and come back strong.

Speaker 2

Quite and then finally, Mark Marquez is also going to miss Australia and Malaysia.

Speaker 1

Yes, I think.

Speaker 2

Fuck, he won the championship.

You see what those chances are.

Even if he didn't, he's missing.

He's going to win the championship without even being there.

That would have been very interesting actually, if there was a chance that he could win the championship.

He wasn't fit to ride.

He's still going to that race weekend, isn't he.

He's still going to be there so he can celebrate if he wins.

Speaker 1

Anyway, Yeah, that would have been the strangest scenario strapped up one.

I didn't do anything.

Speaker 2

Yeah, as such, almost would have been fun to see.

Speaker 1

Actually, it would have been.

Yeah, a weird kind of roundabout way that would have been interesting to see.

Would be the first time we've ever seen Yeah.

Speaker 2

For the guy that's everything in his career and may as well did that too.

Speaker 1

Yeah, why not, there's a been a first to see someone else do it.

But yeah, unfortunately went down the heavy crash with Bears and bust his collar bone.

Speaker 2

What a fucking crash, right, that was like a crash.

Bears just missed his breaking markers like that.

Speaker 1

I just think he was so much quicker.

He was so much quicker.

Speaker 2

But he knew, like it's this mad thing, like surely he knew he had a chance for over taking.

That's take this really marginal attempt at it.

We saw in the sprint how fucking fast he was.

He could have been in the back of the grid, like he could have had one of those race he was so quick?

Was it was it just impatience?

Did he miss his breaking Marker?

Speaker 1

What the fuck happened?

Because he just slammed into Mark.

I think he got sucked in by the eero right in the slipstream right in there.

And I don't think he missed the breaking market.

I think he probably hit it perfectly.

Not the slipstream.

I hadn't, but the slipstream just sucked him in enough.

Yeah, you know, because he did properly sucked him in.

Yeah, it really did close up quick.

He probably breaks normally if he was on his own, but with that extra what lack of ever resistance was just enough.

He needed a bit more and there he was.

Mark was clearly slower as well.

That's going to be a factor.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and Mark having a bad weekend and it was just unfortunate.

Speaker 1

So you know, Bes was okay, luckily Mark went down.

Another big factor in this as well that everyone was saying it was the gravel.

Apparently the gravel this weekend.

Is it too deep in place?

Yeah, kicking people.

Speaker 2

Up and.

Speaker 1

Bouncing, so when you did hit something, you really kind of dug in and tore up on it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, because I mean That's how it looked with Mark, to be fair, like he kind of he's slimming along on his back, wasn't he, And and it's like, okay, this is fast.

You can get some burns.

Okay, hit the gravel at.

Speaker 1

The same time as Bez.

Speaker 2

Did he clip his foot the content of talking about himlipping.

Speaker 1

His foot, I think it's closed, but there's no angle to kind of confirm that he did clip him.

I don't think he did, because we would have seen more if he we might have seen a bit more rotation from that leg, which we didn't see.

But it was definitely the gravel.

Like you said, he slid and.

Speaker 2

Then he just tumbled and it was that tumbled down.

Yeah, flick you see him come down on that right shoulder.

Speaker 1

Yeah, he looked alright sliding.

Let's say, as soon as he hit it, he tumbled.

And a lot of people are saying it was actually the gravel that caused the injury, and.

Speaker 2

They say it's a weird place to crash there anyway, crash there full stop.

You don't really crash there.

Speaker 1

Not, not on that one because it was a flowing corner.

Yeah, it's not like a stop start corner.

It was a nice flowing corner and.

Speaker 2

A lot of times you do crash, it's going to be a pretty easy low side exactly.

You're still gonna hit the gravel, You're not gonna hit it as fast as Mark.

And because I mean bears couldn't keep the bike up right through the gravel like that just dug in as well, and that threw him over like he was a nasty crash for both of them.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it was a nice one, but was quite lucky.

Yeah.

Yeah, Marks had surgery now I believe I think surgery.

Speaker 2

No, no surgery, So he's not having surgery.

So this is an interesting point.

It was the injury was widely reported is it being a collar button break, but it's actually not.

The latest reports are that it's actually a small break to his shoulder blade, specifically the caracoid process, which is a small hook shaped part of the shoulder blade where a bit in the middle.

I don't know where it is, but it's where all the ligaments and muscles and stuff attached to on the shoulder blade.

So which is why there's now this risk of this ligament damage.

And it does seem like there is some light damage to the ligaments, but there is no significant displacement of the bone, and the ligament damage doesn't seem terrible.

So right now surgery isn't required.

We'll sit out the next couple of rounds to try and heald like a normal human being, as opposed to going in and getting surgery done.

Speaker 1

That would be a strange experience for them.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, quite, but I like even his like Mark's statements afterwards.

He was like, I need to I'm going to wait.

We're going to heal this properly.

We're going to do this properly.

I'm not rushing back, which is fuck me, that's not Mark.

Mark has twenty twenty breaks his arm and then five days later his back on the v bike and then screws it over open the window so it's right.

Speaker 1

At the top the top inside, so right up near the collar bones.

What kind of if you were to look at skeleton, it kind of prodrudes through that gap under your collar bone.

Yeah, where this is anyone outside my doors right here because I'm sacked by two patio doors.

Because you want it is too idiots to do.

This is some kind of weird kind of message.

Speaker 2

Steve's microphones and computers and massaging yourself and on his screen porn.

Yeah, well this is the problem Steve with the age verification in the UK.

Here unless you've got VP and you've got to get off and get your rocks off what you can.

Speaker 1

I'm definitely old enough.

There's probably an age limit beyond the son.

They're like, oh, you're a bit creepy.

Speaker 2

We're removing eighteen section from your from your choice list here.

No, barely legal for you, my friend, we went there.

This is what happens mate, We get on the Scottish Fosters and things go wrong.

Speaker 1

Oh we tell the truth.

Speaker 2

So yeah, Mark is gonna be out for a while.

It's an interesting thing, though, isn't it.

In a way, I'm gutted he's hurt, obviously.

I'd love to see him come out.

He's not now going to go and break his own record of thirteen wins this season.

He's not going to probably score as many points as he would have done it anyway.

But he's still broken out records or whatever.

Speaker 1

That's fine, exactly, He's broken enough records this season, done enough to keep us well entertain exactly exactly.

Claimed the championship his ninth controversial Yeah, I get the police rounded a minute, you've said something on social media.

The Dawner police are here.

Speaker 2

I think you'll find that seven championships actually a sting.

No, Like, it's seven, not TWOTP championships.

I'll give you that, but it's nine World championships, yes, can you?

Yeah, but it's a bit interesting.

I feel like this is the first time we've ever seen Mark Marquez be Mark marqueest because how many times has he wipes people out because he's way faster than them and he's super impatient with his overtakes, Like we've seen him do that over and over again through his career.

Speaker 1

Yep.

Speaker 2

So there is some calmic justice to the fact that it got done to him.

It's just a shame that he was hurt in the process.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Yeah, he's come off far worse than the people that he's punted before.

She was like, yeah, who has everyone?

He's bar for everyone.

Yeah, let's face it.

But yeah, it's not as bad as the injury could have been considering the side of his body that was on.

Speaker 2

Yes, and that's the big thing.

Speaker 1

This had massive implications.

As soon as I saw him dangling that arm was oh shit.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and that moment where he goes down and like to pop it back in.

Did he dislocate it as well?

Maybe like he could have done, because I mean the man's not unknown to having to pop his arm back in.

Speaker 1

Well, we've seen him running, pop it out, come back out.

Yeah, doped up on painkillers.

Speaker 2

I mean, was it twenty nineteen if you won the championship and Scott Reading like slapped him on the back put out and then he was there like you need to pop this bat in for me, and like there was people just then popping his arms.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there's that favorite shot of him afterwards where Scott comes near him the following season.

He's got like a flag in his hand.

He's waving him to keep it from If it's that weak and easy to do, there's problems.

You know.

I've dessicated with my shoulder once.

Oh I've never Oh that's painful.

I desiccated it forward and lifting something, even just lifting something and it popped out.

Yeah, Oh that's so grim.

It was a proper pull one.

Speaker 2

Oh mate, that's that's like one of those worlds Strongest Man.

Horrible injuries from lifting too heavy.

Speaker 1

Like rerendous.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's grim mate.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

I lifted up a washing basket standard size like UK washing basket.

But it was full of wet water lily out of the fish pond and picked it up.

But I got it up, pull it up way.

It was only when I limp forward put it in a little wheelbarrow is going to move it down the garden.

My shoulders went.

I was like, oh, that's wrong, and my whole arm went numb.

Wow.

And as soon as I stood up, it just went click back in.

It just went black.

Speaker 2

Anything like that.

Speaker 1

Oh, it's nasty.

That was so painful for ages afterwards.

Speaker 2

Even like a minor because if it's just you stood up and it pop back in, that's not even the full dislocation.

That's like a minor dislocation.

Speaker 1

But yeah, man, your body's not supposed to do that.

No, No, I could go the pop note, twist the shoulder.

It's quite weird.

Wow, it's just one of those things.

But then on the scale of like what he can do with it, a tap on the banks, puff out, well, then you had big surgery.

Speaker 2

Didn't need to.

Speaker 1

Stop that, that's true.

Yeah, he did have the big old surgery.

I was just you know, manned it up and went with it.

Speaker 2

And then you'd be like opening windows all over the show, sucking mental I've.

Speaker 1

Got the Pettio doors like.

Speaker 2

At the same time, right, And that's kind of the one of injuries that we're on right now.

So let's take a quick break, Steve.

That wraps up the newsy bits I wanted to chat about, and then when we come back we will start on the races.

Let's go excellent, So guys, bear with us for just one moment and we will be right back with you.

Still beer everywhere, off that my pop filter is once again.

Speaker 1

Soakedn't get the pop filter I got my laptop.

Speaker 2

Maybe more annoying actually than a three quid pop filter.

Speaker 1

Yeah, don't press any buttons, Yeah exactly.

Speaker 2

Don't touch anything for a while.

But we are back.

Thank you for bearing with usplanters.

Our empty beers are full apart from the stuff on the computer and the pop filter.

Yes, so Steve, let's crack on with Five's here, as is usually the way with Moto three, standard fall standard form exactly, and it's worth noting here before we get into it.

For much of the race, it didn't look like this top five was going to be the finishing order.

No, it looked very different.

For a lot of it, but then there was a bunch of crashes in the final few laps.

There were some long lap penalties to be dealing with, and there was a red flag, which meant that we didn't even know what the top five looked like due to countback, so we had to go back a lapse to see what the finishing positions were.

But then there were unserved penalties due to that.

Yep, so it was a little while after the race finished before there wassion in Park Firm.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there was a bit of scrambled heads and people running away with books going.

Speaker 2

Going on exactly.

I think it was in Park Firm a ready for his podium.

Speaker 1

Yeah, he was there and then.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so it ended up being quite an interesting race.

The weird one and the red flag.

Actually haven't read anything about this, but the red flag was Danny Minyoff's crash, wasn't it, David?

Was David Minyoff's crash.

Yes, yeah, you got to get the right manual exactly.

But do we know is he Okay, I haven't seen anything.

Okay, I have not seen anything.

I mean, we've got to take the hospital.

Oh he's got a fractured female.

Oh that is a GP one report.

What have I got?

Speaker 1

What thread?

Threads?

Speaker 2

That's Simon Patterson posted on threads, So we go.

Turned out Simon Patterson.

Maybe he isn't using Twitter anymore.

Probably good for his mental health, to be fair.

Yes, fractured to his left femur, probably a season end ending injury.

Speaker 1

Not surprised.

That's a big, big break.

Have broken femur is not good?

No, you've been there.

Speaker 2

I've been there well, well thankfully, but in a way, yes, thankfully.

I had a spinal injury to deal with, so I couldn't actually feel anything below the waist.

So the fact my female was smashed apart didn't really bother me.

There bos me a lot now, to be fair, me more now than it did in the moment.

Silver linings, Yeah, quite, But broken femas sort of running my family.

We're doing pretty well with our traumatic injuries in the ashdown household.

Speaker 1

If I hear well of your nephew suddenly screaming over.

Speaker 2

The wall, oh god, honestly, mate, is a surprise that it's just their teeth that they've managed to smash out a few times.

Being related to well, certainly to their father.

He's one of the most actent prone people have ever met.

But that's because he's just fucking chaotic and just runs around a million miles an hour all the time.

Speaker 1

So yeah, I quite like it though.

I like loving tennis balls over there.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you've only got to get over what two gardens and then you're there one one.

Speaker 1

Set off the conservatory.

That's good.

Speaker 2

The Conservative Think is where Nathan and Ellie spent a lot of their time watching TV.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, she said to me, the other days were just chill out out there, and there's some I don't know who that is.

Speaker 2

It's the tennis ball with your name on it, Steve, and your address.

Speaker 1

Well, just like arrested your nephews.

Speaker 2

Someone's setting you up, Steve.

That's what's happening there.

But yeah, soda out for a while now.

So yeah, the red flag was caused by his crash.

Speaker 1

It was a nasty one.

That wasn't a nasty one.

Yeah, he's lucky, well so lucky.

Speaker 2

It's one of those things man like, broken famous, never a good thing, but for it to happen, at least he's not in a championship battle.

Speaker 1

No, he's not a championship battle.

He's young enough to recover.

Speaker 2

Quick and the best care in the world.

Man, Like we often think these guys are getting traumatic injuries, and they are getting horrible, horrible traumatic injuries.

Speaker 1

They're not then going to fucking an e.

Speaker 2

They're not up outside an e to get seen to like they're being rushed through.

They're getting and then flying back getting the best care.

Speaker 1

Exactly.

You're not got eight our weight set in the back of an ambulance outside Norwich A and E.

No, exactly, just to get in and then go wet paper.

Speaker 2

Tel exactly, Like how did you know I could.

Speaker 1

Have done that myself and there's bone poking two paper tels.

Yeah, these guys get good care, so they will be absolutely.

Speaker 2

Fine, quite And that is one of these things worth remembering, Like there are worse people for these traumatic injuries to happen to ye, But it would be better if no one had.

Speaker 1

Would be nice if no one got these injuries.

But they happen.

Then in this sport the odds are high.

You've got to walk away.

You can't go through a whole career in this sport and not have some kind of break no exactly, yeah, or multiple.

Speaker 2

And if you get to a point where you have got away with it, it's only amount of time.

I mean, you've only got a bounty of ross.

Very famously didn't really get very injured throughout my career, and then what twenty ten, he breaks his leg and then he spends the next three or four years just getting hurt.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, just getting beaten up.

It just happens.

Yeah, it happens.

You know, until that point, it was almost just made a Rubbert the boy bounced, then that one big break and then just kicks it off.

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Quite, But then that's probably an h thing on his part to be fair.

Yeah, and he never led to the mart Marquez.

Let's find a limit by crashing at two hundred miles an hour down the rookie year.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but we wish him more than this.

Yeah, quite, they'll come back strong.

We'll see him next season.

Yeah exactly.

Speaker 2

So as it did end, then the top five looked like this.

Fifth place was Jacob Ralston taking his best result of the season, and this was an impressive race from the Aussie.

I hope see more of in the future.

Yes, it's not been announced yet where he's riding next year.

Speaker 1

He's lost his.

Speaker 2

Tech three ride, not Tech three, i OKTM ride for next year.

Yeah, so we don't actually know where he's going to end up, but I suspect he will end up.

Speaker 1

He'll be snapped up by someone, someone draw him in.

He's too good of a talent to be out of a ride.

Yeah, exactly, not stay on at least the motor thory group.

Yeah.

Fourth place.

Speaker 2

Then in this one was the aforementioned maximum key Layers, still just doing his thing, running off track all over the place, but still managing to stay right inside the top five, and he likely would have finished on the podium had he not had to serve a long that penalty for shortcutting turn nine.

Speaker 1

If he could have avoided that, he would have been second.

Speaker 2

The potentially second if not fine for the wine.

He was right at the front when he took his penalty because it was announced and then you're like, why are you still bawling?

Speaker 1

What you what's the point?

Just cut it in, Yeah, exactly, Just don't worry about it.

Speaker 2

And it was one of I did think I was I just take it as soon as you get it, because it was right at the end of the race.

Speaker 1

You take it as soon as you get.

Speaker 2

It, and then you've potentially got four or five laps to get back.

Speaker 1

Onto the great, good pace.

He could have built something.

Speaker 2

Up, yeah exactly, but no he didn't.

You push it right to the end, had two laps ago, and then.

Speaker 1

There was the red flag.

Yeah exactly, Well he was luck lucky flag.

Speaker 2

Well he'd taken it and then got hit with the red flag.

Yeah, he took it on that lap for the red flag, and then because he hadn't taken it, he then on count back he hadn't taken it because the race ended a lap earlier.

He then had to take a three second part anyway.

Kind of annoying actually, but this is.

Speaker 1

Where it all got confused and everyone's going, oh, I'm lost.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly at third place in this one, then Steve was Guido Peni.

Speaker 1

Now this revelation.

Speaker 2

We've been hearing his name a lot in races, in nearly every race.

Yeah, he's always kind of in around the top ten, fighting, doing cool things and often near the front, but hasn't masked those final stages of the race.

Speaker 1

So this is his first appearance in the top.

Speaker 2

Five at the end of a race, and to do with the podium is a great way to go about it.

But it's been coming for a while.

Speaker 1

He's been building.

He's been building nicely over the last few rounds.

And let's say he's kind of jumped, he missed a couple of spaces.

First top five, fucker, let's put it on the podium exactly, and there's no away of doing that.

Yeah, quite.

It says the bar high for himself.

He's been mentioned a lot, he's doing great things.

So hopefully this is now that confidence boost for him.

He knows he can do it, he knows he can push up.

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2

I don't know if he's been announced for next year, has he?

Yes, he is joining Leopard Racing next year alongside Adrian Fernandez, who I didn't think was racing their part next year, but maybe he is.

Maybe I didn't my head he was going elsewhere, but who knows.

This is what Wikipedia says, so.

Speaker 1

On this all right, if we're wrong, don't correct, we'll blame him Wiki exactly.

Speaker 2

Correction Coller Wiki and demand your donations back.

Yes, second place and then Steve in this one, Luca Lanetta and after the Torridge year he's had.

Speaker 1

It was acid, wasn't it.

We had that huge crash.

Speaker 2

Yes, rounds for four rounds, out for four rounds exactly, that good.

Speaker 1

Cool knows, I do remember something every now and again, feel senile dementia just travels enough.

Speaker 2

Just to let you get back with Moto three stat Yeah, a twelfth place championship.

Speaker 1

Righter.

You do a pub quiz and someone comes out with the most random question.

Speaker 2

I got this, yeah, exactly, justect myself.

So yeah, a really good result.

This match is his best ever Motor three result, which also came in round eighteen last year.

Weirdly, but that was Thailand and not Mandalika.

So I don't know if the guy is just a fan of the number eighteen or whether he's just there's something about Southeast Asia that really sicks.

Speaker 1

Does he run?

Oh?

Good question?

What number does he run?

If he's eighteen, that's scary as hell.

But I don't think it is.

Speaker 2

I don't think he is, So let's find out.

I'll have to find.

Speaker 1

There would be just be something very poetic, Yeah, wouldn't there That would be nice.

Yeah he's in the fours.

Speaker 2

No he he is ninety four?

Yeah, yeah, number ninety four.

I mean you've got four in there.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's close enough.

It's fine.

Speaker 2

And then winning this race Steve and the Moto III championship in twenty twenty fives with it was one Jose Antonio Ruaida.

Speaker 1

Exactly how you want to win your championship on the.

Speaker 2

Top first place, Yeah, exactly, no better way quite And you know, once again, this race was an incredible performance.

He dropped right back early and looked like he was going to concede a bunch of points to both Kilez and Pequerras, which would have been enough to push the championship to the next round, but he expertly carved his way back through the field and as all the carnage was going on around, he managed to avoid it all and in the end wins the race, outscoring both of his rivals with enough points to wrap up the title with four rounds to go.

Speaker 1

Very well done, Indued, just a great season.

This guy's been incredible this season.

This is really well deserved.

It's been a pleasure to watch.

Yeah, yeah, it's been really good.

You know, we say every around he always does that, drops back and then just works his way through perfectly.

Some of the finest racing that we've seen that has been from this young men.

It's kind of like David Alonzo vibe.

Speaker 2

David Alonzo was very good.

Yeah, actually, you know, he'd maybe even if he qualified on the front row, often he'd fall back and then you just see him just on the fringes of the front group.

It didn't matter whether the front group was four riders or eleven riders.

If you're right at the back of that, let the carnage unfold halfway through the race.

Speaker 1

Now it's time to go.

Speaker 2

Yeah, calves through and Royd has been able to do that this.

Speaker 1

Year, Whichty, that's a good point compared those two.

That's very very Yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, he's not at the same level as a Lonzo obviously winning fourteen races.

Speaker 1

Or whatever it was something ted and all the time.

Speaker 2

How many race wins is rider on this year now?

Eight one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine place nine with.

Speaker 1

I can't get two steps right, four.

Speaker 2

More podiums after that, So yeah, just an amazing season.

The guy has done incredibly and only missed out on the top five twice, once of those with an eighth place and once those was a DNF Okay.

Other than that, it's been top fives everywhere.

Speaker 1

Guys had an incredible season, A much deserve champion.

Speaker 2

Yeah, absolutely, just a cracking chow from him.

So yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you can do next year because there's a really solid crop of riders right now in the lower classes.

I think in maybe not twenty seven, maybe twenty eight, we're gonna have one of those years a bit like that year that we had fer Corot Vera Alexing was that twenty nineteen?

Speaker 1

Yeah, twenty yeah, ninety, wouldn't it?

Who else was there was?

Like five of.

Speaker 2

Them were just incredible rookies, all came into my GP at the same time.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there was a big crop came up and it was just like this massive show of talented just to arrive.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and I think we're going to get that again.

I think you're right because we've got a lot of older riders as well that you kind of think, ye kind of there's the Maverick Vinyards as the world.

Do you think, like you've not gone Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1

Three, Beauco will be out at something maybe gone before then.

Who else is there at riding?

Speaker 2

Because mar cares man twenty eight, you could see him maybe packing it in.

Speaker 1

Yeah, if he goes on like this, if you suddenly opened up the massive injury door, you could you know, at some point you've got a call at time, Yeah, Basin Bindar, Like there's a bunch of.

Speaker 2

Shifting out in the next Yes, twenties rock in the forties fine, but yeah, I think we're going to see there was a really really solid, solid crop of riders coming up at the moment.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that was it.

Speaker 2

That year Coateo Mere Bagnia, Olivera.

Speaker 1

It wasn't, of course it was.

Yeah, that was the year after bag is very famous, gold Livery, Yes exactly.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Rin's has already been there a year lot.

Speaker 1

Yeh, Yeah, it's gone before then four.

Speaker 2

Guys, and actually look at those four guys.

There are three world champions there and a multi time major.

Like that was a solid crop of rookies, and we're going to see that again.

See like this amazing.

Speaker 1

I'm sure we'll see bunches like this coming through.

Like we said about Ethan's road to Motor GP, with all this talent pulling into one segment one racing series and the goal being Moto three.

If we can get a big bunch of riders from around the world all coming through, all about the same age or following the talent, that's the same upward step, there's chances up We're going to see big groups of riders following each other all the way through their careers.

Speaker 2

I mean, we see that already, but I just do.

Speaker 1

But I think we're just going to see it more because it's got more push in our face.

That's the wrong way to put it.

They're more televised now.

Speaker 2

But there is more of a push.

We didn't have the roads to Moto GP before like we do now.

We didn't have we didn't know, we didn't have this deliberate push from Downer to bring the younger guys.

Has there been anyone from any of the talent cps that is in mo GP?

Speaker 1

No, not yet, Okay, I believe, Oh god, there's where did everyone come from?

The younger riders?

Now?

Speaker 2

Three three right now that would have come to I don't know any of these guys that would have come through a talent cup the way of Keras, Quiz, Mino, Kelso, Carpe, Fernandez, Yamanaka Peronisato.

That's the top ten right now.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'll have a look at you.

I'll do some research this week while I'm off.

Speaker 2

Yeah, because it must be guys who motor three.

Speaker 1

There will be motor guys.

Yeah, there's guys in what's the case you're a gormant young brit though he's just signed for six fifty eight.

Oh yeah, look at that.

Speaker 2

So he's done two rounds of six fifty eight already this year, so he's signed for next year.

I don't think he's a brit may I think he's Irish Irish Irish.

Well, he's not Northern Irish.

He's not welcome to the family.

Yeah, I think there's quite an effort to be not a part of the family for the Irish.

Actually, yeah, something still on the Irish now, Yeah, because when I say he's not a brit that's not me being protective of people that I consider Brits.

That's me allowing Casey O Gorman to not be called to choose.

I think he'd rather not be called a Brit.

But I don't know.

Maybe maybe he's a massive web list and man it really likes.

I can't think of a single member of West Life Irish.

There must be other big Irish bands who are the ones knee Cap?

Are they Irish Irish or they Northern Irish?

Speaker 1

Kneecap?

Speaker 2

Where have you been in recent Yearscappa get themselves into loads of trouble.

Yeah, okay, fair enough Kappa like Spotify, so ni Kappa like a hip hop is it the Irish bands that are very pro unification of Ireland, like we don't be anything part of Britain?

Speaker 1

Were they the ones that upset glestonbril or something.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so Kneecap and what's the pop villain?

Kneecap and Pop Villain the ones that really upset Plastonbury.

But the lead singer of Kneecap was and I don't think.

Speaker 1

It's the lead thing.

It was the hip hop trio.

Speaker 2

But anyway, he was in court the other day because he held he hold up a Espa Lah flag, a gig or something, and they were trying to do it on terror offenses and I think it got thrown out by the judge because the police either didn't turn up or didn't provide evidence on time.

Speaker 1

I lost.

We got thrown up.

Speaker 2

Basically, the police were doing what the police do, woul being fucking incompetent, and this guy got away with terror offenses that were calling them a terror of ference is a strong thing.

He held up a flag of a prescribed group and ended up, Yeah, in quite a lot of trouble got away with it because of police in competence, but it now seems that there are there's challenges and appeals to the ruling.

But you know what, if I was a judge, don't be fucking throwing those out you.

Your job was to provide me the evidence.

It's off, you can do it.

Speaker 1

Strong feelings of pose.

Speaker 2

Well, strong feelings about a lot of things, mate, for certainly strong feelings about the police.

Yes, especially the police in the UK.

I'm not going to slay any other police force in the world.

I know there's some fucking terrible ones as well, but I'll try not to state those because I don't know enough.

But I will slate the police in the UK.

Speaker 1

I was just looking at my Spotify looking at the random eclectic mix of all music.

Speaker 2

Yeah, mine's all just really angry feminist punk at the moment.

That's my genre of choice right now.

Speaker 1

I'm currently into the Footloose soundtrack.

Speaker 2

Wow, that was really bit everywhere I do I honestly, Mate, Fleetwood, mac Motley Crue.

I was like, this, this is gonna be good, even a bit of Blondie.

The Footloose soundtrack is not what I expect you to say.

Speaker 1

We have Joe's old MC classic rock sixty seventies, eighties and nineties.

Speaker 2

Okay, i'd call that dad rock, but I'll take that Welby Okay, not that this sad reality is though.

Volbeat probably our dad wrong.

Speaker 1

They are older than me.

Speaker 2

I love these video clips that are like people my age going into the shop and be like, oh, dad Rock, what's on this?

Speaker 1

Tell me about that some forty one?

Speaker 2

Yeah, Green Day, Like, oh my god, that's dad rock now.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm not even kidding.

Speaker 2

Look at this, You're spinning it around.

What can I say?

Footloose?

You've got an upbeat mix of Volbeat mix and nineties mix of rock mix.

Nice who you almost listened to?

I don't you can see that?

Speaker 1

I don't think you see on earth.

You get like the you have to wait till the end of the year.

Speaker 2

Yeah, wrapped together, so that would be nice.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I was Tomorrowland.

I was listening to a lot of tomorrow Land.

That's that festival, isn't it.

Yeah, Dance Festival recently played all sorts, all sorts.

Speaker 2

Min agree bit screwed at the moment because we were driving back, which meant he was DJing.

So yeah, Yeah, it always takes me a couple of weeks to fix my Spotify after she's been DJing for long car Journey.

Speaker 1

So yeah, I do let the boys listen to mine.

So there's a lot of there's a bit of K pop in here on, in and out.

I gotta get rid of the demon Hunters.

Speaker 2

You've got like Daily Mix seven is actually just all K pop now pretty much.

Speaker 1

But now I've been very much into Joe's don't play Jesus into what Joe's Joe's Ultimate Rock?

Oh okay on Oh wow?

Speaker 2

This is just a guy that's made a playlist.

Speaker 1

Yeah, just a massive playlist, fifty hour playlists, a fifty hour playlist on loop.

Let's go for it.

What's the first song?

You Like a Hurricane by The Scorpions?

Fuck You Like a Hurricane?

Very very good to do this for the rest of the show.

Give it a big push.

It's oh it's don't play.

Who have we got here?

What's it landed on?

Alice Cooper?

Poison Your Poison?

This is the last one, last one.

I'm Coming Home by Ozzie Osborne.

Speaker 2

I've never been an Aussie fan.

I don't actually know.

Speaker 1

Oh no, I do, but I'm not saying myself.

Speaker 2

I've just killed all my show notes and not Spotify only a beer and a half in.

Speaker 1

Dancing Maybe did you.

Speaker 2

See this is a tangenty.

Speaker 1

Massive because you're back?

Yeah, actually in the same room.

This is what happens to apologies people we do talk about maybe, well.

Speaker 2

Talk about in the pub, mate, that's the point that, well, this is it, this is what we do.

Speaker 1

Did you see any of Ossy's funeral or the final show the Final show, mate, Yeah, there's there's a few shows over the years that I really really regret not trying to get tickets for, like the Food Fighters memorial one for the Drama.

Yeah, talk trouble is with him.

Speaker 2

I always want to say Ethan, Yeah exactly.

Speaker 1

I think it was.

Yeah, I can't remember.

It's Hawkings, Taylor Hawks, Yeah, Taylor Hawkins.

That was twenty twenty two.

Yeah, tell me about it.

So's that one?

Speaker 2

What the new two fires druma is quite hoty, isn't he?

Speaker 1

Oh them off on a massive one now?

Speaker 2

Man, I think the fires Drummer is exactly what I want to look like when I hit his age.

Speaker 1

What we're talking about his age because you could have called a fence across the table.

Speaker 2

I he's probably not he's not that much of a hot It was just a really good photo.

Yeah, I'm sure he's an incredible drama, which is much more important than his looks.

Speaker 1

So that's fine.

Yeah.

What was the Ossie concert?

Western Mate looking credible lineup?

Yeah, they played for three?

I know they all played for three.

Such a charity gig for Birmingham.

Yeah, and just huge and was it?

Kiss?

Speaker 2

Kiss didn't go because they wouldn't play for free.

Speaker 1

I mean, that's rock and roll.

I'm not playing for free.

I get it, I understand it.

But he did an amazing aberration with young Blood.

Speaker 2

Mate, I'm a big young Blood fan.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and yeah, young Blood.

Speaker 2

And they seem to have a really tight relationship.

Speaker 1

They see me going really well?

Yeah, yeah, I see we going really well.

What was that went?

Speaker 2

Oh?

Speaker 1

Deflipper Motley Crue?

Speaker 2

You want se Deflop and Motley Crue.

Yeah, that's a fun gig.

Speaker 1

That was a good gig.

I'm sure it would have been.

Speaker 2

A more fun gig in nineteen eighty two, but still a fun gig.

Speaker 1

Now.

Yeah, that's the one time I'm really happy I would have been one.

Yeah, okay, I'm like, yes, one time I'm glad to be able to say that was a fun gig.

Yeah, that was a very very fun gig.

Speaker 2

And you're probably a youngest person in the room.

Speaker 1

Obviously it was a bad average Yeah, okay, I was, but there was some proper like what how I would describe myself dad rockers?

Speaker 2

Yeah, okay, uh yeah, this is a musing I grew up on.

Speaker 1

Yeah, beyond elder em in the dad rock Yeah okay, yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 2

I was happy to be that really well emo in em you confused?

Then immediate a load of like flightless birds wearing black and white checked shoes and that's like small ostriach, what are you talking about?

Speaker 1

Just shut up?

And one of that I don't know what last and tools.

Speaker 2

Maybe delight upon Actually it was the last have been this time last year.

Speaker 1

That was great.

Speaker 2

That was wa front Studios.

I love water from Studios Norwich.

Yeah, but it's not downstairs, the upstairs.

Speaker 1

Yeah, three hundred people.

That's tiny.

Oh, it's so small.

It's so good for that's really good for acoustic gigs.

It's really good for gigs for on.

Speaker 2

The stage is so small.

Speaker 1

Man.

Speaker 2

The stage is like I don't know, ten meters across six Maybe it's so small.

I saw Berry Tomorrow play there after they've done at least their fourth or fifth album, and they were doing like, you know, five six thousand people venues.

They then went and did like a grassroots tour.

I went and played all the tiny venues they played on their first tour, and I'm actually taking for that and see them.

Speaker 1

Oh it was so good, so good.

Yeah, I'd like to see more bands.

I wouldn't.

It used to be one of my things.

There used to be an acoustic venue in Norwich down Tombland, right next to the cathedral.

I forget what is what the place is now, but you can basically take your own instruments.

Okay, we've got Jason shitty Land Drover Series two on a Friday night two.

Yes it was two.

Yeah, yeah yeah.

The long wheelbase with a straight six sounded great.

It's amazing put out like thirty horse power.

And we used to go there, eight or nine of us in the back of this fucking thing.

Wow yeah, open back, yeah one with the open back like the canvas top, absolutely ship faced.

Jason.

Jason was man of the law, not king, a badge.

Speaker 2

And then Jason if that is his real name, yeah, would drive named Jason.

Speaker 1

We'd all leave the local to the club, all guitars and all sorts of ship.

Let me just roll it there and it's just playing and there'll be bands turning up, local bands and bands.

We're just come in and grab some kit and just play it nice.

That's cool.

That was really cool venue.

I think it was like seventy nine kind of red trope.

Speaker 2

Red stripe is the worst beer man, but it's always the cheap one you get.

You know you're somewhere good when.

Speaker 1

You get your beer in cans.

Speaker 2

Yes, and that's you know, the floor sticky, you don't really want to touch anything.

There's not bog roll in the bathroom, let thee running water like it's it's going to be a grim place, but you're gonna get your red stripe and it's going to be cheap.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's going to be warm.

Speaker 2

Yeah, always absolutely gonna be warm.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

You see him carrying out of the back of someone's car.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the forty eight cans.

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Just go on Spotify to see what gigs are coming up, and there's lows all over right, let's bring Yeah.

Sorry people, Sorry, if you're still with us and haven't based out, I think.

Speaker 2

We might have just done twenty minutes of just not motorcycle stuff there.

So Moto two Steam five right.

Speaker 1

So anyway, I saw this gig once.

Oh yeah, that reminds me.

Actually a great band.

Speaker 2

Called Moto.

Speaker 1

I've been the point.

I tell you.

I saw fall Out Boy before they were famous at the Pyramids and Portsmouth.

Wow, that is cool, it's cool.

Speaker 2

I saw fall Up Boy at the Big Weekend when it came to Norwich, Big Weekend banging.

Speaker 1

They're really good, they do.

Speaker 2

And I never liked them as a teenager, and now I'm like fall Out a bit of a guilty pleasure.

But yeah, great band.

Patrick Stump just an amazing voice.

And what's the basis name?

Speaker 1

Uh?

Speaker 2

There were dick pics of him online years ago?

Speaker 1

Oh jesus.

Anyway, boy basis Pete Wentz.

Pete Wentz.

Speaker 2

Yeah he does all, he writes everything, doesn't he?

So an incredible is an incredible band.

Really, they're very very turn Anyway, let me just make sure that's still recording because I accidentally tried to close my recording app there.

No, that's still good.

Speaker 1

So Moto two steves me along show twenty five to eleven.

Speaker 2

Yeah, what are we going to do so this mototoo.

Speaker 1

Excuse me?

Speaker 2

What was quite the race of attrition.

Both ASPA riders crashed out from top five spots.

Miras went down on lap one.

Squeeze failed to finish the race, as is Salach and Aradre.

But all those guys failed to finish the race and all kind of crashed out in quite dramatic fashion.

Speaker 1

A lot of them.

They didn't go down quietly, did they know, If you're going to go down, you might as well make it dramatic, you know, you know, no low sides.

It was all high sides and just like plumes of smoke and.

Speaker 2

The ones that were kind of chilled low sides were from really good positions, and you're like, why.

Speaker 1

Why have you done this?

At least crash dangerously, make it exciting.

If you're going to go down, least fly of it.

Speaker 2

We've already spoken.

Speaker 1

You get great care.

You've got great healthcare.

Yeah, your hyperbaric chambers you want.

Speaker 2

But the thing is like guided to an Orcado crashed out, yes, and same with Alonso was in the second place at the time of Loso, I think was in fourth or fifth.

But up until that point, another amazing weekend for the ASPA rookies.

Speaker 1

The ASPAR duo at the minute look incredible.

Yeah, what their talent acquisition people been getting bonus after the bonus of the bonus at the minute.

Whoever picked these two guys and you know they're a really good marry up for your bike and you'll set up this year.

Whoever convinced them, They probably didn't take what convinced, but whoever got them to sign the contracts to come across absolutely well done.

This marriage between these two guys and these two seniors is one team, if you will, it's absolutely incredible as you yeah, yeah, properly good.

Speaker 2

It's sort of a shame for them that aspart don't still have moor GP presence, yes, because that's obviously the directory onto a Jakati.

Speaker 1

But yeah, either of.

Speaker 2

These guys, if they keep this up, then they're going to be AJI.

Speaker 1

If they've just got to stick around for next year, keep following this form and they will be there.

Speaker 2

It's the annoying thing though in it for next year twenty twenty seven, new rule set.

Who knows what any manufacturers mean exactly?

What if everyone just stands PAP and people don't go to GIP and I think they probably way the same, and.

Speaker 1

You're going to have to air on the solar course a little bitcause, like I said, none of us know.

We could be facing a very real situation where suddenly.

Speaker 2

It's katiem versus a Prillier for the tom spots and last wondering the amaharare scrapping for.

Speaker 1

The exactly the middle ground, and suddenly all the concessions are flipped on the head.

Speaker 2

You know, you d rank, Which is a really good point actually because if one, if you can't get it really really wrong coming into moor Gip in twenty twenty seven, they're.

Speaker 1

Still going to be a rank for that first year because that carries on for the.

Speaker 2

First six months definitely, because or the first half season definitely.

Speaker 1

Yeah, until you get to the halfway review, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2

So you could find to get to a point where I say, Honda pull it out of the bag and make but they're still ranked.

D update the engine and just do all testing and do loads to carry a rank and struggling to score points.

That is a reality that could happen.

I don't know if anything's been built into the rules.

Speaker 1

I think there'll be a reset.

I think there'll be an open reset.

For the first six months, everything is put back to zero.

The concessant ranks are still there, but you will be categorized.

Speaker 2

Get thrown into ranked B or ranked C.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I think that's the fairest one.

And then after the six months period you will then be categorized into the ones which you will carry on yeh three months.

Yes, sorry, because that to me is the only way you do it.

You can committed to a season where everything has been completely reset, carrying on your concessions for the year before when you just don't know what's going to happen.

Yeah, because especially with the tires as well, one part there's a huge change, So I think everyone has got to be all hamoligated in a one section.

Speaker 2

There's got to be something.

Speaker 1

Yeah, And that's only fair.

It's a big reset.

You can't carry on with last year's concessions into a new reset.

That's just crazy.

Speaker 2

Quite so, as we're saying that it was a race of attrition, and then after the race, the second place finisher, Manuel Gonzalez was disqualified for using non homologated software, So this looks like it was a narrow during a firmware update, which meant the Pike was using software that was no longer approved by the Championship.

Speaker 1

So this is legal software.

Speaker 2

It was legal at the whole the year it was legal, but has now been made illegal because it's been updates, but it didn't update properly apparently.

From my understanding is the software update was doing two things.

One of those things worked fine, the other one didn't, which meant that for that second part, I don't know who the fuck it was, say it was, I don't care, it doesn't matter what it was.

But that second part reverted back to using old software which no longer Okay, so yeah, he did get disqualified.

Speaker 1

So.

Speaker 2

Finishing second on the road only lost five points to one of his championship rivals on the road on the Road now has ended up scoring no points and five points to one of his championship rivals, and that has opened this championship up like you would not believe, down to nine point nine points right now at the top.

Speaker 1

It's pretty wid.

Speaker 2

So the top five then we'll come on to who did close the gap down The top five looked like this fifth place, Albert arrain Ass.

Another good point scoring finish from rain Ass.

He's quietly having a really good season this year, scoring points in all the three occasions, and yeah, just looking, I think Albert Ornus might be a better rider than I ever gave him credit for.

I know he won the motor three titles, but yeah, twenty twenty is a weird fucking year.

No one whatever.

Everyone twenty twenty titles have got a weird asterisk next to them, which is unfortunate because they still did the best job over those fourteen rounds in the same weird.

Speaker 1

World we as a generation I've ever known exactly.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, so it was a weird situation.

But I never really rate him that highly.

But he's having quite a good season, Like he's showing us fall Yeah, he was showing by Jake Dixon when they were together.

But still it's a good result, like he's doing okay.

He's absolutely deserves to be a motion two rider.

Whether he's ever going to get to mo GP, I doubt it.

Speaker 1

No, I think he's just going to be a long term Motori rider, But he's.

Speaker 2

Showing his fallow there.

Speaker 1

Yeah, he would have been six six six is still respectable.

Yeah, but is having a good good run a minute?

Speaker 2

Yeah, absolutely, Fourth place then in this one was Barry Baltus again impressing with the Fantic Racing team.

He's a guy that is having a fantastic season.

This has been such a year for about us.

In another fourth place is just cracking good job.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, this guy really is doing fantastic.

In the minute.

Speaker 2

Third place, then the other Fantic rider of Aaron Canitt.

Thanks to Gonzalez's disqualification, can It did get on the podium in a race where it didn't seem likely at all.

Plus thanks to this an extra sixteen points to close down his title rival.

So yes, it's yeah, it's certainly tightening up at the top.

Here he is now thirty three points back.

Speaker 1

So it's still a lot.

It's still a lot big.

Speaker 2

Yeah it should have been.

Yeah, it's a big ass But and it's probably much close than it actually should be when you look at their results.

Speaker 1

When you look at their results, it shouldn't be this Close's.

Speaker 2

Had that weird bad luck, hasn't he like Austria?

Speaker 1

He had that?

Yeah, so good and stuff.

Yeah, and then stuff like this is exactly what we said last week.

You just can't gauge what's going to happen.

He seems to have the worst luck, but in the best.

Speaker 2

Kind of way, if you'll, kind of being a bit of a Travis if he doesn't win this title, like the guy has been the fastest.

Speaker 1

Guy, by far, the best rider, will arguably the best rider on this grid at the minute, but I'm more on par with Morera.

Yeah, it does feel like if he doesn't win it, he's been he's been shafted.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and probably will be a little bit grateful that he's in Mooto two next year so we can get a redemption.

Speaker 1

That's it.

Yeah, I'd be like, right, I'm out to legitimately prove that this title is mine.

Speaker 2

And do you know what if he doesn't win the title this year and finish his second He finished third last year.

Every single year Remoto two, he's finished higher and higher and higher.

So it's just this is still will be a step and then next year it's got to be done.

But I mean he's still nine pers a head, there's STI plenty of time he still.

Speaker 1

Could win this.

Yeah, I think he'll wrap up this year.

But then yeah, thanks to his d Q, Aaron's on the podium probably looking across at the second place.

I'm supposed to be over there, exactly.

I don't know.

Speaker 2

Third, third feels uncomfortable.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I had the minute.

He's probably like, this is the podium, yeah yeah, quite yeah, what's nice thing?

A good run.

Speaker 2

It's his first po fuck me since as oh geez one seven this is eighth round yeah, seven rounds between podiums and just the one race win this year.

Not good, No, not not good from can It who we thought was going to be a real title challenger for the entire.

Speaker 1

Year, for this off there's mid season bit has just been.

Speaker 2

Yes, that's chair there, man, there is a I'm moving second place.

Then in this one, Steve inheriting second place should have been Thirdankovara officially taken second.

Third would have been a great result anyway, a little bit better.

And when he turns it on, man, he is incredible.

It's such a shame.

It's not something he's been able to show a motive to consistently, Like in mostly three Beast.

Speaker 1

He was saying the motor three.

It feels like one of the riders of him where everything has to be perfect, completely perfect, and then we will see the brilliance.

Yeah.

If it's not, if it's off by like even a couple of degrees, it's just not doable, and you can't predict when that's going to be.

Speaker 2

Like.

Speaker 1

It just exactly this before.

He just all of a suddenly, like you know, it's could be a greasy track, it would be nowhere at the front.

Yeah, why there, you're doing this.

You're supposed to be at the back.

You don't like these conditions.

He's probably one of the most frustrated riders to talk about.

Speaker 2

He's one of the most most frustrated riders.

Speaker 1

Because it is so talented but so unpredictable.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and it's the complete opposite of Albert Arena won the three titles and I kind of went no wherever fine and Gavara one of the most three title.

I was like, this guy will be fighting Peder across the from championships and it's yeah, exactly, it's just never come off.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but the magician's touch paper.

Yeah.

Speaker 2

And then winning this race, Steve was one digo morera a great performance.

He hit in the front early and just held the lead by around a second, and even when Gonzales was in second and breathing down his neck, he didn't crack.

He was able to keep matching the lap time set by his rival and managed to nibble a few points back in the championship bottle.

By the end, I think he won by quite a chunk of time.

But with Gonzala's getting that disqualification, Diego has dragged himself back to within nine points of this championsip bowle.

Now, this championship is absolutely alive going into the final four rounds and these two are gonna slug.

Speaker 1

It out, trade blows.

This championship left off for grabs as well.

So this is the hot one.

Now, if ever there was a lucky weekend, Diogo got it this weekend.

You gifted stuff like this in much sport every now and again, and you'll take it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, And actually it's the second time because in Austria, when Gonzales had that stone through the radiot.

Speaker 1

Marrera went and won that race.

Yeah exactly.

Speaker 2

He took fifty points out of his title rival in just those two races.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Well, I don't know, this feels like it's gouna be a slug festival.

Speaker 2

Yeah, And I mean if Morera goes on and wins the next four races and comprehensively beats Gonzalez, then I'd be like, you know what that feels like?

That's a fair balance of power, like both have had DNFs this year.

Yes, Gonzales ha haven't been his own fault unfortunately most of the Obviously there was the US which was a weird race where he scored zero points because he.

Speaker 1

Was on the wrong tires.

But then also Morera only finished.

Speaker 2

One point ahead of him or one place ahead of him that also scored no points in that race.

But they have had a fair share of DNFs and things.

It does feel like this should be Gonzalez's championship.

Morrera goes if he wins the next four, then he what seven races on the year versus one, two, three, four wins?

So actually, man, gonz hasn't one since Migello.

Speaker 1

No, it's not a win for ages, He's just consistently in that top group.

Speaker 2

Interesting, So yeah, I could.

I mean, Marrera is the former rider of the two of them, if you can stay on the bike.

Speaker 1

So there's is the minute he's the one claw and the points back.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Quite.

So it's gonna be fun to watch, It's gonna be a nice end.

It's gonna give us something to really focus on.

Yeah, quite, which is welcome.

Exactly.

Speaker 2

Let's take one more break.

Steve and then when we come back we will dive into Motor GP.

There's a good stuff.

So guys, bear with us for just one moment and we will be right back with you.

Oh that was one, Steve, No spray back at all.

So guys, I've lost myself with how good that can opening was.

That was, that was on point.

But we are back.

Blassers are empty, beers are full, and we are ready to crack on.

We're talking about Moto GP.

Those fresh beers were fosters in this nice new can.

Black and gold now no blue and gold, sorry, not black and gold, blue and gold, not blue and yellow like it used to be.

As we were just saying, it was more Australian than ever.

Speaker 1

They feel more than ever.

Speaker 2

Even a kangaroo on there now, I don't think that used to be there either.

Speaker 1

No, I don't think it did.

Actually it's still not exactly.

Speaker 2

It's still a solid.

Speaker 1

Crappy larger that's what I call it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, So anyway, with the fosters on the go, now, Steve, Moto GP.

Speaker 1

Let's dive into it, buddy.

Speaker 2

So before we do the top five for the sprint race, let's just touch quickly on Mark Marquez because he was off the pace all weekend.

He went through Q one, qualified ninth, finished sprint the sprint in sixth and didn't look like the rider he's been for most of the year.

Speaker 1

No, No, neither him nor Pecko had a great time this weekend or none of.

Speaker 2

The GP twenty five.

No, no, did you finish in eighth and Pecko was last in fourteenth in the sprint.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they really suffered this weekend.

But Marquez, especially after securing the title and the form he said this year, everyone was like, oh, he's going to do wonders.

You know, this is a bogie track for him.

Yeah, we've everyone's expected him to turn it on.

I do great things.

But no, he really lived up to the form that we're kind of used to around this track.

So it just didn't have it at all.

Speaker 2

Didn't happen for Mark and mean Peco man he was two seconds off the pace per lap in in the sprint.

Like the GP twenty five was just not working.

Speaker 1

No, this weekend, it really didn't.

It was hot, it was greasy, it was slick, and for some reason it just doesn't work.

Every now and again we see races like this where the on on palm form bike everyone wants to be on just doesn't work.

Speaker 2

But that kind of there's been a lot of occasions this year where that's been the GP twenty five, Like, I don't know, man, the more I look at this, I'm like, has.

Speaker 1

You County peaked?

Speaker 2

In?

The GP twenty four was the peak and now we're seeing like a bit of a slow slide back.

There's a realistic scenario that plays out here that Mark Marquez once again repeats what he did on that and is the only rider capable of doing anything on that bike if development goes badly and then he just wins not the CHAMPIONSHIPLE two and then fuks off back to.

Speaker 1

Yeah maybe, I mean there's there's a very realistic scenario that says, you know, evolution of anything peaks at some point, and you know scyclical nature of motorsport.

Yeah, I mean, c Cassi have had it their own way for so long now.

It's funny, though, isn't it We say that?

Speaker 2

But do you Cat didn't win a championship into twenty twenty two.

I know that is true, But in twenty one it was Suzuki.

In twenty it was Honder in twenty Yeah, nineteen.

Speaker 1

Feels that way because there's so many of them.

Speaker 2

So many of them had so many fucking races.

Speaker 1

So yeah, if you've got if you put the odds in your favor with numbers, Yeah, it does feel because how many times have we be seeing a educati lockout?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 1

Quite, and that's just less this year.

I mean that's the point.

You know, for two years they dominated, absolutely dominated.

Speaker 2

They came on form and podium clean sweeps.

It's just been insane and times were it was like the top six maybe sometimes it was even most was the top eight bikes.

Speaker 1

He's exactly.

This just feels nute.

But they were helped slightly by but everywhere else fucking it not being there, just not doing thing, yamaha, weren't there.

Speaker 2

Katm may never get there.

Speaker 1

It just feels like they've KTM are kind of feel like they've peaked and they're just sitting at this kind of mid level where.

Speaker 2

Katmss are weird, aren't they, because they peak really high and then they drop back to this baseline and then they to speak again and then drop back to this baseline and the base line is just not great, and they'll dip below it as well.

Speaker 1

That's norly for a cost at the minute, just do an incredible thing.

Speaker 2

And that's been wasn't it was Brad Inder before it was like there's just one.

Speaker 1

Now got the same thing or had the same thing for ages in quart.

That's still true.

Speaker 2

It's just still head and shoulders above, isn't he?

Speaker 1

But this this was a weird one.

The sprint and this whole weekend feel felt very different.

Speaker 2

Yeahs is that right?

Cortau's nints in the championship on one hundred and fifty eight points.

The next Yamaha is Jack Miller in eighteenth on sixty points.

That is right, like a hundred points in it and they're not getting.

Speaker 1

Big results like this is just chipping away and just outscoring massively.

Yeah, this is just Corduro doing coo things.

Be so much better than the rest of his competitors at the factory.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I mean, rings looked really good.

Speaker 1

This weekend actually did look good.

Speaker 2

Rins Scott got screwed over a bit Rin's got Mart Marquees or did he get Alex Marquees?

Speaker 1

I remember now, I can't remember because we were so focused on everything else.

Speaker 2

In the sprint, I think he got Mart Market.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I mean I was so focused on the front at this race because the three guys that are there.

Mate, it was just it was a banger.

Yeah, this was so so good.

Not the wrong reasons, the right reasons, but for what feels like this is really harsh to say there were some of the wrong people.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and that's exactly it.

Speaker 1

It was.

Speaker 2

It was and I think that's why it was such an exciting weekend.

It was a real changing of the guards.

There was a moment actually in the sprint where Aldiga was leading from Acosta and Ralph Fernandez.

Speaker 1

You're like, what the fuck is this?

Like, it's just my names.

You just don't put the front of a GB race at the minute when you've got this talent pool on the but you've got the bag known as Marcus is Alex Markes and it's just where are these guys gone?

It was like almost it felt like leave Rogin maybe a year or two in the future and looking at the next swapping of the guards.

Yeah exactly.

So this is a little snippet of things to come.

Yeah, it was quite exciting.

Yeah, is inevitable there will be a swap, you know, time catches up to everyone.

Yeah, exactly.

And these are the younger guys on the grid.

Speaker 2

Yeah, quite so, fifth place then in this one, and Steve was your aunt mer the Honda's performance, man, it looks real.

Speaker 1

It looks good.

The Honda at the minute is coming on nicely and set setting some really nice benchmarks for itself.

Speaker 2

You could argue over the last three or four rounds then has been the third best bike?

Speaker 1

Yeah, easyly not there's still a weird thing to say considering their their pedigree.

Speaker 2

But then there are going to be so many fans, I don't know, maybe listening to this, maybe not, but the fans new to motor GP, absolutely whople have never seen Honda and don't have like the history that we've seen Honda doing.

Speaker 1

That is absolutely feasible if anyone has just started watching like the last year or two and they've just got into this sport in the Jugetti dominated era and we're talking about Hondra and Yamah these.

Speaker 2

Incredible yeah, like these really decorated marks, they like have the greatest history in the sport and you're watching them now just around the bank.

But now you're seeing the rise of Honda again and it feels real, man, it doesn't.

We've seen blips, we saw blips from Honda, like two or three rounds.

Speaker 1

They all have that.

Speaker 2

We've seen it absolutely, But I don't know, Man, this feels different with the Honda now.

Speaker 1

It does, Yeah, it really does.

They've come on good in some ways.

I was just thinking, if you were to just have entered into the like watching motor GP and you were at University of the minute going through this, I don't know.

Speaker 2

I don't think anyone at university has got time to watch mostorport.

Speaker 1

Mate, they're all.

Speaker 2

Drinking and oh they probably are mostly drinking, but some studying.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm Peterson.

If you're doing I don't know, motorsport journalism at university and you decide to base on MOTORGP and you decide your dissertation it's going to be on the history of MOTORP at the minute.

If you take that and decide what I'm going to do history MotoGP and how it's evolved over the last five years, and you dive back ten years and you write your dissertation the evolution up to the present day, You've got one hell of a storyline.

Speaker 2

Well, it kind of feels to me now that Honda are in the position you Cassie were.

Speaker 1

In exactly that.

Yeah, I was fourteen.

Yeah, I'm going for fourteen.

But that's perfect if you were to do that.

Evolution is your piece to submit.

You've got one hell of a storyline and there's going to be tons and tons of information out there for you to watch.

Yeah, go back right about and if anyoneone's listening to this, if you've made it this far into this show, good luck.

And you're new to this sport, get yourself on video pass, rewind ten years, twelve years, thirteen years and start there and watch the progress that ups and downs of everything that's happened to bring yourself to modern day, and what you will see will be the perfect example of motorsport evolution.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you don't even have to go back.

Oh, go back to twenty fifteen.

Go back fifteen, you know, watch marquees, Rossi and Lorenzo battle out for a title.

Wonders the Amahas.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that is true, that is true.

Yes, yeah, actually no, go back to the start of Marcus of his career and GP go back to twenty thirteen and watch from there.

Yeah, take that, because then.

Speaker 2

You can watch and to do that, you may as well go back to twenty twelve.

Twenty eleven, Lisa, and you can watch Casey Stoner.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's true, you could.

You could wrap it into that one.

I was thinking, you could have someone's career progression or they've been through and this goat that is markets and compare them to what's coming on and prepare yourself for the exit of Marquez, which you if you're going to get hooked on this sport, you're going to see pretty soon and wait for the next goat.

Speaker 2

To come in, although it won't be anything like the Valentiner Rossi Marquez, I don't think you'll get that again.

Speaker 1

I think you go.

Speaker 2

I think Marquez is just a different beast.

I think he watched what happened to Rossie and when I'm not doing that, and I think actually the fact that he was wiped out with Marco Zeki in the Grand Prix and it was a bad one and the first thing he felt the need to say on social media was no bad things to Marco, these things happened, No stress.

Speaker 1

Let's just move on.

Speaker 2

And like he's there with his banged up shoulder and fully strapped up and the two well even before that, like you don't just popped his shoulder back in and the two of them are shaking hands like there's this.

These are two guys that when we saw them in Valencia twenty twenty three, Yeah, well they wouldn't see why they were raging.

Marquez had wiped Zeki out from that race.

Speaker 1

He did.

Speaker 2

Actually, Zeki turned up at his press conference drinking like he had a beer on.

Speaker 1

The ghost feuwing.

Speaker 2

These guys hated each other and now they can slam into a gravel trap at whatever speed.

One of them gets really hurt, it's the other one's fault and they can stand up and they shake hands, and both of them on social media afterwards Marquez been like no hard things, it's happened, and Zeki like, I'm really sorry.

Speaker 1

There was my fault.

Speaker 2

I should have done that, Like Marquees isn't going to have this acrimonious break from OGP in the same way that Fantina Rossi did.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that is true, that is true.

We wants a reference to what we're talking about.

Go watch the more president views of Rossy and Marques.

Oh yeah, I watched some of the heated debates and how long even almost to this day, these not fused but.

Speaker 2

Almost there's no almost definitely.

To this day, they still don't even look at each other.

Speaker 1

When it's a different world we live in.

There's more empathy in motor smaller now than what they used to be.

Speaker 2

Absolutely, yeah, just more just people talking about their fucking feelings, like none of this punching each other on the way up to the stairs and get.

Speaker 1

If you don't know what that's about, google that fucker.

Yeah, two thousand and one, It must have been two thousand and one, near two thousand and two in the early.

Speaker 2

It's very well referenced in Fastest.

Speaker 1

Yeah, Fastest, Yes, the alliged off camera fight that literally happened on a stillwell outside.

Speaker 2

And there is footage, but the footage is at the back of everyone's heads as they're crowded around to watch what's happening.

Speaker 1

Like it's actual punch up.

Yeah exactly, But that's the rock and roll of motorsport.

Also the bullshit we will criticize when it happens.

Yeah exactly.

We all want it to be very gentlemanly and we all want the image without the harsh reality.

Yeah, that's exactly it.

Speaker 2

Everyone loves Motley Crue until they're throwing your TV out the window.

Speaker 1

In your living room.

Whill you've inviting them back?

Yeah, come back to mine for a part?

All right, fuck you mate.

Speaker 2

If anyone's futing tom Lee back to house for a party, you've made a terrible life decision.

Speaker 1

Well yeah, you're posting your missions halfway around the world.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but no, I just it's a different sport now than it was then.

Speaker 1

To be fair, it has changed a lot.

And that is a lot, in my opinion, a lot to do with the world we live in.

With social media, how acceptable it is to talk about your feelings, your emotions.

Speaker 2

And I don't think this is even social media.

Speaker 1

I think it's just the younger generation.

Man.

Yeah, he's much more willing to.

Speaker 2

Talk about their feelings and stuff.

And most of these moor gp riders like you, and I asked it, I think you're at the very latter end millennial.

I'm kind of early end millennial.

Speaker 1

I'm literally on the line I am on that borderline depends.

I am one of the few where.

Speaker 2

It depends on which saucy reade.

Speaker 1

Literally I'm that lost bit in the middle.

Yeah okay, whereas I'm slap bang in the middle of the millennial.

Speaker 2

So like, but the guy, none of these guys are millennials, like none of the people generation after that.

Speaker 1

There's an alpha?

Is there an alpha?

Speaker 2

And the other is a new one?

Speaker 1

So you're sorry, Yeah, there are alphas.

So yeah, all these guys are one hundred.

Speaker 2

You say that talking about.

Speaker 1

But yeah, yeah, literally that I can see it from both sides of the boards.

I was brought up with people like damn, can you give me some?

Speaker 2

But I was brought up like and I think by this twelve, I grew up in a world where my dad never spoke about his thoughts and feelings.

He talked to mom, and mom would relay them to me, but he'd never talk to me.

Speaker 1

Like that's not how these kids grew up.

Like he's different with.

Speaker 2

These kids, these guys grew up Like it's a different world and it's it's a great world for it.

Speaker 1

Like a fantastic world.

Speaker 2

Fucking let's all talk abouts and like we kind of need to be doing that, and yeah, and it creates better competitive relationships.

Maybe not the fireworks and the real drama we want to see when we do see I think maybe it's more fun.

Speaker 1

It's less.

You get these long, long, long feuds between Rossy and Marcus.

You think what's going to happen and Lorenzo Rossy wall down the middle of the garage when these guys didn't get on.

To be fair, the war was tires.

Speaker 2

Tires is why the wall happened.

But yeah, but still yeah, I kind of think maybe the war would have happened anyway.

It's pretty keen on the wall.

Speaker 1

That guy's my age.

He's two months older than me.

Okay, so I know exactly probably how he was brought up.

Speaker 2

You know a lot about small towns in Italy, a little bit a couple.

Speaker 1

But we're of that generation where you were not supposed to talk about your fingers.

You know, you got on with it, you had to cut, you wrapped some duct tape around it.

You went on with it.

You didn't talk about what was going on in your head.

You just got back up to it.

You went back to work.

If you were upset, you cried in the shower.

Speaker 2

And then you went and topped yourself in the woods without telling anyone.

Speaker 1

Literally, where's he going?

He's been missing for three Oh shit, there is there is swinging.

Speaker 2

Now.

Speaker 1

We've got this lovely generation that are willing to talk, encouraged to talk, and it leads you to these scenarios where people are forgiven and that's a wonderful thing.

Speaker 2

So when we do get these stress classes aren't the problem anymore.

Speaker 1

No, No, everything all is forgiven and there's things are spoken about.

So when we do get now get these explosions of emotion, it's real.

It's very very real and very very raw because everything else else is out in the open.

But then it's forgotten about.

You know, you shake it and you get down to the pub and they.

Speaker 2

Have a bit which is almost a really old school motorcycle race mentality.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Literally, let's go fight in the car park and then we'll go have a drink.

We've almost come full circle, but we're opening up more.

It's weird.

It's a very strange thing for people like myself who are sat slap bang in that middle of two weird lines.

It's a weird reality.

Speaker 2

Kids in that rally man like, that's a weird place to be.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Yeah, I've had a conversation with them the news.

He was upset about something at school and I'm having to encouraged him to talk about his.

Speaker 2

Feelings, to do the thing that your natural reaction is just like, no, I don't.

Speaker 3

I'm going to talk pot and pop up and that's that, Yeah, exactly, And that leads the generation that have the problems that I've been having recently.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly, which is not a good thing.

Speaker 2

But you know, sometimes you have the hard conversation and it means the rest of your life is better.

Everything from that conversation is easier.

The conversation is really fucking hard.

It's hard, but from there onwards.

Speaker 1

Everything is easier.

This has gone deep.

It's gone really deep.

Man.

Speaker 2

So fourth place in this one was Alex Marquez.

Not on the podium, but still a good result.

Speaker 1

For Alex in this race.

Fourth place.

Yeah, at least he's keeping it multiples.

Yeah, that's true.

Second we did fourth, that's exactly.

Even.

Yeah, if it had been third, he's been splicking the lutch, which on seventeen times all my family want to do.

Speaker 2

Just keeping Mark away from windows.

Yeah, he's like, no, no, you look like you no, no, don't.

Speaker 1

I'll get it.

I'll get it.

I've got the door.

I've got door.

Speaker 2

Who's Alice's girlfriend?

Speaker 1

Like, Alice, why are you going out again?

Mark needs a window open?

Yeah, he's going out of the car.

I got to get the door.

Next door.

I'm superstitious.

Speaker 2

Third place in this one then Steve was rout Fernandez.

Speaker 1

Yes, but so pleased for this one.

Speaker 2

Finally, mate, we are seeing something from him.

And yes, his move on Marini in the Grand Prix screwed them both out of likely podiums.

So all things considered, I think it was actually disappointing for a weekend for Fernandez, considering the pace the bike had and how good he looked in the sprint.

He sucked it in the Grand Prix, but this sprint podium is so good.

I'm so happy to see him finally racing up the front.

I'm not yet ready to eat my words.

I'm very I would not care if this guy got kicked out BYGP tomorrow, like whether it's been long enough.

However, if he can pull this off over the rest of this contract cycle, which take him through twenty twenty seven, and keep doing performances like this, I'm winning to change my mind.

Yes, And I think that's all anyone wants from me.

Speaker 1

Steve.

I think, yeah, I think that's it.

I think you've nailed.

Speaker 2

It easy midswig and you kind of left me there to.

Speaker 1

That.

We've been get him on for so long Yeah, and finally he's done it.

Now he just needs to keep doing exactly simply.

It was exactly and it was a weekend where the privial was just this thing was insane, absolutely insane.

It looked fantastic in the girlf Livery.

Speaker 2

Oh mate, yeah, that I wanted to touch on that label doing now the golf livery was once again an absolute banger.

Speaker 1

It's one of the best I've ever seen, and I wish they could keep it, but I'm really glad they don't because when they do bring it out, it's so special.

Speaker 2

And it's an amazing thing.

I have never known any sponsor livery to have the the visceral effect that this golf livery has on the motorsport world, because it doesn't matter what happens.

This livery looks great.

Whether it's on a Formula One car, whether it's on the endurance car, whether it's on a sports car, whether it's.

Speaker 1

On a motorbike, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2

It always looks incredible and it's always absolutely rated by the fans.

I think that golf have done an amazing thing by never fully sponsoring it, well, not in the recent years of most port in the past, they did, which is where this livery came from.

Speaker 1

But they've not done that for decades.

Speaker 2

This livery pops up so infrequently that everyone is so excited when they see it, but often enough that it's instantly recognizable across generations of different most sport fans, like the first time I saw this in Formula one, I was.

Speaker 1

Like that looks like I was there.

Speaker 2

GG forty, the G forty I think used to run a golf.

Speaker 1

Livery for GT fourty used to run a.

Speaker 2

Golf yeah in like WC like we said that in the morning and stuff like, we've just seen that livery And it's just if the last forty years motorsport fans have been seeing this same.

Speaker 1

Livery and the same colors, the same color, the same way out.

Speaker 2

It just made Golf have done an amazing thing to sponsor team so infrequently in recent years, and every team that's got them has Wow.

Was just a great job from Golf and for everyone.

This is I'm not big on petrochemical companies, obviously, I think everyone listening knows that about me.

By now, I'm big on golf livery, so this is a bad.

Speaker 1

This one has always been around, same tones of colors, it's transcended generation.

Yeah, it's been amazing.

It's fantastic.

They've stuck to their guns always in motorsport, always with the same scheme.

They will sponsor anyone basically that they think it's work frequently.

Speaker 2

Yeah, get a few appearances a year if that in a major amount of sports.

Speaker 1

And you know, when you do, it's almost like a rite of passage, s leedded to the rare few who golf will put their name against and it's like, right, you're going to run these colors.

You're going to do this.

It's going to look like this, we're not changing.

You run this or you don't get it exactly.

That I think is fantastic.

Speaker 2

And that only works though with teams that have very little sponsors and very little sponsorhip money is going to take all the higher thing.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it just works.

I think it is fantastic and I hope my kids are seeing the same livery in forty years time from now.

Speaker 2

I'm almost certainly.

I think as long as golf exists as a company that are making money, which yes, very good news.

The world is now fifty percent renewables, that's cracking, the golf are going to be around making shipload of money and needing to spend that money for tax reasons, So we are going to see more of this livery.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's just gorgeous.

It is fantastick.

And I really hope well, no, actually I don't.

I was gonna say, I really hope they bring out special machines like we always see the special decays as I hope they don't because I hope they keep it exclusively to the sponsorship amiable.

Speaker 2

And I think they're aware that that is the right move.

And yes there'll be third party companies.

Speaker 1

You can go on and get a ship knockoff, you beout.

Speaker 2

Unfortunately that's full of lead and arsenic and the meaning you touch it, you have just reduced your life expectancy by thirty years.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you know you're gonna write it once and then croak it.

If you left a.

Speaker 2

Say, I don't know what on your bike counts as a fairing, I.

Speaker 1

Don't think any fair I haven't got one.

But if you.

Speaker 2

Did, and it was from TIMU and you left it running in a dark, sealed room for ten minutes, you would one.

Speaker 1

Hundred percent be dead.

Speaker 2

You have probably got radiation poisoning, maybe uranium in there.

Speaker 1

Somewhere alright.

So the equivalent for me on the old bikes, and I don't visit any disrespect to anyone, is Indian products.

So there's a lot of Indian manufacturers that recreate parts of motorcycles.

So they're like they have the rights for Royal Enfield seven of the products they manufacturer and send over here.

I've seen petrol tanks.

You put petrol in them, they pop a hole.

I'm sorry.

The Royal Enfields made Indian?

Now, yeah they are.

It's the products that are made in Indian.

Well, some parts, but the bulk of the ones that are still made are still made over here in the UK.

Speaker 2

Okay and Norton owned by an Indian company.

Speaker 1

Yes, okay, but the manufacturer rights are over here as far as I'm as far as I'm aware, I'm concerned.

Speaker 2

Mark, You're only Unite the Kingdom's rally and next thing we know.

Speaker 1

No, there's not that many colors in my flag.

Speaker 2

Tommy Robinson T shirt for you going on scene.

Speaker 1

No, I'll hang myself with it now.

Speaker 2

You can talk about feelings that you don't need to resort about.

It's okay, No, I'd rather hang with we can just we can just talk about a disdain for the man.

Speaker 1

That's not.

Speaker 2

No, that's not because that's a slippery slope.

Speaker 1

Jesus, isn't it.

Second place?

Speaker 2

Then in this one, Steve it was one fermin Aldergare and he led most of the sprint after Bez, who was clearly the fastest rider all weekend, got a bad start and was only it was only in the final lap actually the bes managed.

Speaker 1

To closed him down and then pounced.

Speaker 2

And it was almost a great battle, Like it was close enough that you were like, this final lap is going to be a belt and it was good.

It wasn't cattle in your own nine, no, but it.

Speaker 1

Was still very very good.

No, this is comparatible the cattal nine, the next generation, you know, this is like Star Trek exactly.

This is not the.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Quite.

It was fantastic to see.

I'm really glad we've got a little tussle between these two because it is a little snippet to the future and these guys are all out races and we got to see a GP twenty four be a roast by another manufacturer, and that is fantastic.

Speaker 2

The thing is this year, man, if anyone is racing a do Catti appears that it's going to be Marco Berzeki.

Speaker 1

Yeah, this guy this year is just doing incredible things.

Speaker 2

Mate, And this is the most dominant we've ever seen him.

He is not so fast.

It was like mav on the Aprila in Texas last year where you were where were not quite like that?

Because with mad like where the fuck has this come from?

With bears building, Yeah.

Speaker 1

He's been building nicely and just at the minute, it's the on form guy, mate.

Speaker 2

And even after screwing the start, like he was still capable of lapping half a second fast than everyone, making pretty easy overtakes, closing gaps down like it didn't matter.

And I don't know where was.

Speaker 1

He like lap one in the spring seventh?

Was he seventh?

That right against it?

I'm gon very impressed.

Speaker 2

Sometimes you're like, recall for people's positions is incredible.

Speaker 1

I'm going to be, but don't ask to be women and man's birthdays.

Speaker 2

If I just go to an analysis, is that the page I want?

Speaker 1

No, that's not the one.

I'm going to click through all of the things at the bottom of the I think you'll have to chat GGP that one, won't you.

Speaker 2

No, there's a there's a list of its somewhere on a lap chart.

Speaker 1

That's the one I want.

That's the one lap chat.

Speaker 2

It's on the bottom of all the results pages.

Speaker 1

On the MOTI.

Of course, it's right down the very one.

Seventy two lap one he was.

Where the fuck is seventy two?

Speaker 2

Was he even there on that one?

Speaker 1

He was definitely there.

Speaker 2

You should have been thirty seven.

I don't see the seventy two and lap one at all.

You should do, You've got what Yeah, weirdly on the classifications, doesn't appears we've been there any of it.

Speaker 1

But that's not right because he won.

Speaker 2

Oh that's because I'm looking at the Grand Prix.

Ignore me.

Speaker 1

I was going to say he was definitely there, buddy A.

I was.

I was close.

Speaker 2

I found the right page of info I needed, but I didn't find it, just in the wrong So he was down to sixth.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, he.

Speaker 2

Was sixth on lap He then got to fifth, spent three laps there.

He then got to third, spent three laps there, got to second, spent five laps there, and then took the lead of the last lap.

Speaker 1

Story of my life, I'm always a little, one little position away.

Speaker 2

The story of my life, mate is I usually get it all over and done within thirty seconds.

And that's that's me.

I'm a lap one kind of guy.

Speaker 1

Well, there's no point, you know, you might as well get as much sleep as.

Speaker 2

Possible without no pun intended.

There's no point being around the bush.

Just get it done, overdone.

Yeah, but no, just and amazing And Marco was so fast, which kind of makes it nutty for that, like we said about the big Grand Prix like it kind of makes his crash with Marquez even more of a travesty because he fucked himself out of a perfect weekend.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, he really did.

Speaker 2

It's bad launches like a bad launch in the sprint, bad launch in the Grand Prix put himself back in the pack.

Speaker 1

That seems to be the only Achilles heel in that alier at the minute.

Speaker 2

Sometimes maybe Maverick was right this time.

Speaker 1

He was telling the truth.

Sorry, man, but it seems to be But it does.

It seems to be the only chink in the armor.

There's just something that launch control that is not quite as on it.

Speaker 2

What's the fucking point?

And spent a year developing it?

Speaker 1

Stop it's all gone for exactly I wouldn't bother.

I would just keep it as it is.

Speaker 2

I mean, and then maybe with Bears doing what he's doing, you're looking at him like ship, can we pull a championship out if we commit everything to six championship out of the back?

Speaker 1

That's the argument.

I mean, do you want to fit there's going to be a stamp for finishing this era GP and you could be remembered as the last champions.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly when you think about Suzuki, they bailed out of the championship after Alex Rins won the final race of the year.

That is true and like and that will always be with them.

They won the last race they ever contested, which they were still here.

Speaker 1

Well quite that was by far the best looking by for a long time.

Speaker 2

The text three KTM made that bright orange one.

Speaker 1

Physically though the shape of it not the livery of the show, that twin pipe or that fishtail.

Acropovic was Crapovich Akropovich.

I think it depends what we're talking to.

God.

Speaker 2

Well, I'm just going to say Akropovich because that feels like a closer mash up of the Indian and the wet no Indian English.

Because we talked about India earlier, the English and the.

Speaker 1

Eastern European we're acropovitg based.

Speaker 2

Is a weird accent over the sea.

I'm going to say Czech Republic somewhere, or Chechia, Slovenia.

Okay, weird go to Slovenia, where we make the best exhaust pipes in the world.

Speaker 1

It's what weird thing to be famous for.

Speaker 2

Anyway, they're not that famous for that.

That's just a weird bit.

I suppose I don't think of Sevenia and go exhaust pipes.

Maybe now I will, we will who knows.

Speaker 1

Every time we're in the air flying over look, I think.

Speaker 2

Probably flown over Slovenia at some point.

Speaker 1

Maybe.

Speaker 2

Anyway, the Grand Prix Steve Yes so worth noting before we start here.

Obviously, Mark and Bears came together early on.

Speaker 1

They done that, touched on that.

Speaker 2

The only thing we haven't touched on that is, oh my god, everyone's fantasy teams are going to be fucking mental.

There is a chance for everyone in the Fantasy league right now out pecka bagna being peckabagnya.

And that for those people who have scored very well this year, and I think I include myself and that not that I've scored very well, but most of my come from the combination of Mark Marquez, Factory to Casti to Catti Team.

Everyone's now gonna have a shipload of money because we're all gonna have to sell those riders and those bits, and we're gonna have to buy something to replace it.

The fantasy leagues right now have just opened up completely, and that's quite exciting in a way.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well, ship, I jowned up some places.

Speaker 2

Did you who do you have?

I?

Oh this?

You didn't have to catty Factory team.

Speaker 1

Did you know?

So you guys Prissini.

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Oh well that's a fucking cracking result.

Speaker 4

Yeah so I had Mark Yeah me too, Alex, Yeah me too, me too, But okay, Nice, I had Luke Marini instead, and then I had Factory and the team.

Speaker 1

Yeah so I jumped up from wherever it was twenty third.

You are too.

I think I'm fourteenth now you are forties on exactly three thousand points.

Nice, you're exactly sixty four sixty three and a half points are head.

Nice.

Speaker 2

It's it's all to play for now, mate.

With Mark out like, it's a lot of and I've got some ideas abou how I'm going to change it, but unfortunately I don't have a fuck.

Speaker 1

I don't have enough trades, you don't.

What I really like is, I'm just going to touch on this very very lightly second place, He'll climb racing from Australia on three one hundred and thirty eight points boost.

Speaker 2

Left whoa second place with a boost.

Speaker 1

Yeah, behind Kebab Spider, who is one hundred and fourteen point five points.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Really good man, really well.

But for yeah, thirty three points would put you in six.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it's close to so like there's a lot to play for right now, especially with Mark being out with the Factory catis maybe hitting then a bit here, Like there's a lot of trades that need to happen.

Yeah, if anyone isn't relying on the Marquez Factory Cati and Dukati team combination, then you're going to do pretty well out of this break, I think.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

So overall the entire UK MOGP, I think Kerbab.

Speaker 3

Spider was still with third or something in that in third on obviously three two hundred and fourteen point five points first place three than two hundred and twenty four point.

Speaker 2

Five it's ten.

Speaker 1

Ten points, but then fourth place is one point five behind Kebab Spider.

Speaker 2

Wow, that's so much great.

The fantasy league is about to completely change because mar Marquez is out for two rounds.

Speaker 1

Then you look at the teams of people second place in the whole of the UK.

We'll give him a big shout out.

Marquez Academy ninety three Gold Riders, there's Pedro Silver Riders are firm.

Wow.

Interesting.

Yeah teams k K.

Yeah, it's gonna be big changes.

It's gonna be massive changes.

I'm just gonna literally go into overall across the world.

Speaker 2

He's the number one and what they've got.

Speaker 1

Yeah, literally, two thousand, nine hundred and forty six point five points is no ignore that because I was reading that my own school.

Yeah.

Three thy two hundred and sixty point five points is oh Jesus pussy raising.

Nice?

Yeah, Mark, there's Pedro firmin g KK.

Speaker 2

It's funny looking at this scourse this weekend.

Speaker 1

Everyone's called really low.

Everyone's thought, I'm not gonna break hundred points.

I think I did justin Yeah, I was pussy racing.

Speaker 2

I mean so, anyway, the top five in the Grand Prixty this is maybe going to be our longest show yet.

We're about to hit two hours and boom, still not We've done it.

We've hit two hours.

I can see because the end marker on my recording is marked at two hours and we've we've gone over that.

Now.

Speaker 1

Well, you're back in the room.

We're happy to see each other.

We're having a few beers.

It's meant to be like we were chanting the pub.

Speaker 2

Exactly, Steve, that's the whole point of the show.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's all good.

I need another p my old man player.

Oh no, it really is.

Let me down.

Speaker 2

Well, let's hit these top five first and we'll see if you can get through it.

All right, So the top five in the Grand Prix sty looked like this.

Fifth place was Luca Marini And we've said it already, but man, these Hondas Marera made the right choice for next year.

Speaker 1

Didn't he.

Yeah, it's nice that it's Luca as well, because we've been mentioned Mires so much recently.

It's nice that Luca's got in on the air.

He's kind of been the forgotten like middle child.

Speaker 2

Yeah exactly, and I mean crashed out of this race as well.

So like Marini, is just doing again what Honda wanted to do, which is get the most out of that bided out crashing.

Speaker 1

It, Yeah exactly.

I think Zarco crashed out as well, didn't he, Yeah, crash out as well.

He was fighting for the podium.

Speaker 2

At one point, Marini was rabb there and like we said it, like, if it hadn't been for Ralphernandez Luke, Marini probably would have been second.

Speaker 1

Ralph Andandez probably would have been third.

Speaker 2

Yeah, And it was genuinely fighting for the podium.

Yes, okay, wasn't Zeki was out, but even so, this was genuinely fighting for the podium.

Speaker 1

This wasn't a weird wet race, sticky, weird track.

This is legit, yeah exactly.

And it's nice to see.

And it's nice, you know.

We we sometimes talk about Yamaha doing so well up there with across, it's nice to start talking about the Hondas as well.

Shows they're making them prove Yeah exactly.

And speaking of making improvements.

Speaker 2

Fourth place was Brad Binda.

Nice to see Brad back the Costa made it work this weekend and this.

Speaker 1

Is his best result of the year.

Speaker 2

This is nuts a really good shotting from Brad from KTM.

Speaker 1

Yeah yeah, he and KGM looked good this weekend.

Yeah quite.

Speaker 2

Third place then was Alex Marquez getting on the podium once again and putting out a championship gap to Peco.

He's good weekend for Alex.

Speaker 1

It's not often you can say that pulling out the championship.

It's just nuts.

Speaker 2

Yeah quite, that's obviously for second.

Speaker 1

Yeah, second champions.

But this is another great result for Alex.

Yeah quite.

Did he also wrap up the Independent Maria champions did this weekend?

That's done.

Speaker 2

That's too much of the championships for two brothers.

Well played as well?

Speaker 1

Played, Yeah, very happy family this weekend.

Well in a way, Mark's Alpha round.

He won't get second place.

Speaker 2

Then was Pedro Acosta and try as he might, his RC sixteen was no match for Firmin's GP to Melbourne.

But for once, a Costa did manage to stay on the bike and for a while it looked like he was going to be swallowed up by a bunch of riders.

He fell back, but then as the race went on he managed to rally and find this amazing pace out of nowhere and used tires.

Speaker 1

It's just wild a Costa.

Speaker 2

This latter half of the season for a Costa has been exactly what I expected from him from the start of the year.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly that.

This is what we hope from the off.

Yeah, he's doing all the great things we know he's capable of and can do.

It just didn't happen at the start of the season.

Yeah, and suddenly he's found something flick, somethings worked and he's doing all these wonderful things we want them to do and he's producing.

So yeah, let's just hope again we're not going to see a mirror image of last year where he's going to finish strong and next year is going to be where the hell is Pedro gone?

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Quite, it's still mad to think the guy doesn't want to.

Speaker 1

Race after what happened last year.

What do you hold him in his first race?

Speaker 2

It wasn't quite first, he was, but.

Speaker 1

Yeah, considering the way he started, the way he ended, and what happened this year, Oh my god, where has he gone?

Yeah, I just hope we're not seeing a carbon copy of that.

Yeah, quite.

Speaker 2

Sorry, my microphone again, it's against the table.

I've just tried to move it and it's shaking all place.

So Hopefully that.

Speaker 1

Wasn't too distracting for everyone.

Speaker 2

Where did he get his first podium his second race?

Speaker 1

It was his second race, if we didn't have to wait long.

So let's just hope this is Pedro settling down.

Yeah, he's had his blip, let's call it his blip, and now he's over it.

Speaker 2

And in first place winning this one, as we have just said, was fermin Aldergare and what an amazing weekend for the rookie.

Second in the sprint, then with Bears out of the race, he was far and away the fastest rider for the Grand Prix.

He wasn't troubled by those behind, and one in truly dominant fashion, crossing the line always seven seconds ahead of Pedro.

Speaker 1

Cost This was amazing.

He didn't get much telly time because obviously he was so far out of the front.

Speaker 2

Of There was some really good battles for like the rest of the top five, really good.

Speaker 1

And that's what happens.

I felt really sorry for the guy because he was kind of like the forgotten about the champion until he crossed the line and he becomes the second youngest ever championship.

Well, race, race, and the emotions you see I tell you one thing I noticed when he got back in the part.

You know, everyone always gives each other pats on the back.

He's all emotional seeing him crying.

You could hear him in the cameras on ball cameras as he's riding around.

He gets back into the panic.

He jumps over in the crowd.

Go back and watch replay, and it's Missus given him a pat on the back.

On the back.

She she beat the fucker.

Speaker 2

It's funny.

I watched that live and thought the same thing.

I was like, she properly, she lept the But do you know what, man, if I've just gone and won my first mate g P race.

Speaker 1

That's kind of the response.

Yeah you want some pipe.

Speaker 2

That's the kind of response I expect from you.

It's kind of response I expects from sid expects that.

Speaker 1

Really hyped up.

Yeah, that's the only one you've just gone and properly.

Speaker 2

Yeah, man, it's cool.

Speaker 1

I liked it.

Yeah, it was the first thing.

I know.

Easy girl.

We know who wears the trousers here?

Speaker 2

That's easy.

I think meg P riders.

I don't think any of them where the trousers are never they.

Speaker 1

Were all out there.

They're like rode bike.

Everyone else in the home, you know whatever Echos missus name is, she's at home with Turbo.

Yeah.

It's like you're gonna go ride a motorcycle.

Yeah exactly.

Good be a good boy, yeah, good, big, good boy.

I walked Turbo, you go winning rows?

Yeah exactly.

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Now I think riding it's one of those things you always see these like high powered businessmen that are liking just some weird things.

And I feel like major B riders are in that position.

These guys are like properly adrenaline pumped, like they're in some weird stuff outside.

Speaker 1

Of the sport.

Yeah.

I also I have this really nice thing like you hear a knock at the door.

Someone's at the door in Andorra.

Speaker 2

Lace come out and yeah exactly, that's my team.

Martine's knocking on the Lace's door and being like you want to come here?

Speaker 1

Can a Lace come out ride motorcycles?

Yeah?

And then they're like, no, he's absolutely not.

Speaker 2

Yeah texting, yeah, he's on his way over.

He's on his way over, and make an excuse like send him back.

I still need him to clean the garden.

Speaker 1

But yeah.

Speaker 2

Cracking weekend from from and Algaere just a really really started weekend full stuff and this is why you Catti signed him like they were obviously the end of twenty twenty three, did those four races on the bounce wherever won the lot looked incredible, the motive two and then twenty four was and a great motive TI but you can't eve the resigned him by that point and they claim they had faith.

I don't know whether they did or a lot, but he's repaying.

Speaker 1

Everyone rates that kid, Yeah, everyone rates.

We've often said, like we spoke to someone Patterson on the show years ago and like he was always great.

Guys.

Really, yeah, you see this and it's just what they see that we can't see because we were only showing what race direction want to show us.

We don't see the dedication put in behind the scenes.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and it's even that just you're not chatting to crew chiefs and to members of the team exactly, you're seeing way more.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there's all this in depth, in behind the scenes stuff that we don't get to see.

Yeah, and that in some ways it's very infuriating because you feel like you don't get the bigger picture.

But in some ways it also leaves a bit of suspense because you're like, what's the next big thing?

But when you like us, we want to know everything.

Yeah, we want to come to you guys breaking news.

We don't get there, No, exactly, exactly.

Yeah, we're just set in my shitty little conservatory.

Job.

Mate does the job.

What do you want?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 1

That spot up there right there is worry murdered that false widow.

Where am I looking in that flop?

Oh?

Just up there?

Okay there?

Yeah, good spider, that one that was a beast.

Speaker 2

Yeah, we can think Google image search for allowing us to work out what that was.

Speaker 1

I didn't have a clue.

I was just assassinating.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it wouldn't have killed you.

You'd have known about it if it had been.

Speaker 1

But he was pretty big.

He was easily getting on the side of the top of that can.

Speaker 2

They have to and they will hurt if they bite you, you'll know about it.

Speaker 1

But yeah, it's not dangerous.

No, No, he looks at me.

I looked at him.

Speaker 2

We realized it was only one.

Speaker 1

Only one could Yeah, there can be only one.

There can be only one.

There it is.

Speaker 2

It was a highlander exactly, battling on top of the Interestingly, the mountains on the Ilis Skies.

Whether scene was filmed very nice, which actually is impressive because they are a hoof to get up and they managed to get an entire crew and everything up there to film that, So perhaps off to.

Speaker 1

Them there's dedication anyway.

Speaker 2

That does then bring us pretty much to the end here, Steve.

Before we finish, let's recap our predictions from the race weekend, because it's fair.

Speaker 1

To you don't want to do this.

Speaker 2

We both shipped the bed a little, but I shivered a little bit less.

Speaker 1

Than you did.

You don't know.

Let's turn off right now.

Speaker 2

For anyone listening who doesn't know and has managed to get to this point of the shows.

Secondly, Steve and I make predictions for every race weekend.

We predict the top three finishes in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix from a GP and we give us some points.

Three points if you get a rider in the correct position, one point if the riders on the podium in the incorrect position.

This weekend, Steve, the actual result in the sprint was a Berseeki win of Ferminal their second and Ralph Fernandez third.

I predicted that mart Marquez win a Pedro a cost the second of Frankie Morbidelly third.

Speaker 1

I got zero points.

Speaker 2

You predicted a Mark Marquez win, a Pedro a cost The second, and Alex Marquez third.

Speaker 1

You also got zero.

Speaker 2

Points for the Grand Prix.

I predicted a Fermin Alderga.

Speaker 1

No, I didn't you wish For the Grand Prix.

Speaker 2

The active result was a Fermin Aldegaer win, a Pedro Costa second, and Alex Marquez third.

I predicted a mart Marquez win, Marco Berzeki second, and Alex Marquez third.

I scored three points for having Alex Marquez in the correct position on the podium, but nothing for the other two.

You predicted a mart Marquez win, a peggerbag Nia second, and a Pedro a Costa third, giving you a single point for pedera Costa on the podium in the incorrect position.

So this is a very low scoring week.

I scored three points, you scored one.

My total is up from one hundred and twenty seven one hundred and thirty.

Yours is up from one hundred and thirty to one hundred and thirty one.

There is a single point.

I've closed down like an eleven point gap over the last four rounds and We've got four rounds to go.

Speaker 1

This is coming.

He's on the come back.

Speaker 2

I thought I was ready to throw the towel in mate, but I I'll commit.

I'll commit because I need to try and do this and it's working out so far.

Speaker 1

It's shaping up nicely.

This is yeah going to Valencia.

Speaker 2
