Episode Transcript
I'm here today with one of our star students I really want to say from resonance, Omar and Omar it's so beautiful to observe like what happened when you were in the program and how you run with what we teach and how fast results you get and how many results.
So I'm so happy to share this story with people who are listening and I would love to for you to introduce yourself right now.
Just tell us what you do, who you are, where you are, tell us all the things.
OmarSure.
So yeah, thank you for inviting me to be here today.
I am so grateful as well for you for everything.
So yeah, who am I?
So my name is Omar.
I'm a psychologist and a coach for dancers.
So right now, I dance only with professional dancers.
And, basically, what I do is I help them to get their skills up, let's say, or I help them improve their performance.
Or whatever they want to improve, I help them with.
As I was a dancer myself, so I've been the dancer.
Now I'm the coach of the dancers.
So I've been in the whole process.
And yeah.
So I'm really happy to be here because, really, resonance for me was life changing.
So I'm so happy to be here.
RelindeOkay.
We're gonna hear all about that.
So tell me, before you joined resonance, what was it that you were struggling with the most?
What was happening in your life and in your business at that point?
OmarOkay.
So if I remember correctly, I think just, before I joined, I was in a moment in my life where I was trying to move from, let's say, having people that that that doesn't dance and moving up to only dancers.
So I was in a moment in my life wherever I was, like, transitioning between some type of clients to a new type of clients.
So I was a bit in between, and I was a bit confused.
And I was really struggling to get the new clients.
So maybe people knew me or they knew what I did or whatever, but I couldn't get them to be my clients.
So I really I was struggling to make that little transformation from maybe clients to yes clients.
You know?
So I was really struggling in with that.
And
RelindeWhat were the things that you were already trying to get more clients?
Like, for example, were you doing ads?
Or, like, what were what were you posting a lot on Instagram?
Like, what was it that you were trying were trying, but didn't quite work just yet?
OmarFor sure.
So, yes, I was already posting on my Instagram, and I was already doing Facebook ads.
So paying for ads via Meta, but it just wasn't landing.
So I was investing money and posting a lot of content on my Instagram, but, yeah, it wasn't getting me the clients.
So people would see my content and say, yeah, it was nice content.
But nobody wanted to work with me.
So I was in that point, I was like, what's going on?
Because I'm putting the work, I'm putting the money and everything, but it's just not getting me the clients.
So yeah.
RelindeExactly.
And you know you're really good at what you do, and what you do is very special, specific.
So yeah.
Great.
Okay.
That turned around.
Where are you now?
Like, what are the biggest wins you would say after we work together?
What are you seeing?
What are the changes that happened?
Tell us about those.
OmarOkay.
So I think that there are maybe two ways to see these changes.
The first one, I think, is how I understand my business and how I understand how to get clients.
Because before, I was maybe in a mindset of throwing things online, like throwing ads or whatever, or post on Instagram and waiting, maybe, for the clients to appear.
Now I changed that.
Now I see the things differently.
I changed the way I talk to them, the way I even the messages I sent or the copies in the post.
The way I communicate with my clients is completely different.
Mhmm.
And now I engage with my clients.
Because through resonance, I think we we are going to talk about that.
But through resonance, I learned to do interviews with clients.
And so I learned to go and see and say, hi, client.
Hi.
This is me.
And so instead of just waiting for the client, I'm going.
And I'm say I'm getting to know my client.
So I think that's the one change.
And the other change is, of course, now I have clients.
I have clients.
I have groups as well.
So it completely changed from not having almost anyone to having clients and groups.
And now being in that moment of, okay, I have so much work now.
And because before, I didn't.
So I'm in a really new place for me.
So it's it's completely different.
So the yeah.
I would say those are the two main changes
Relindefor me.
Oh, that's huge.
I love that.
You learn to actually listen, speak their language, connect with them.
That's why we call it resonance, right?
And we'll talk about that resonance process indeed and then you Now you actually have groups and you're running them and you have a lot of work and I think you were even asked to speak in an events and you're, like, more international dance events where you're speaking on these topics so people are starting to really recognize your expertise.
I know you already were posting on social media a lot and you continue doing that and I loved also seeing how your content shifted and I think also the engagement, didn't it?
OmarYes.
Everything changed.
RelindeYeah.
Mhmm.
When you said at the beginning of the call, you this you said this was really life changing.
Why is it life changing?
What made it life changing?
OmarBecause I remember before before I started Resonance, I was I was feeling frustrated, exhausted because I was working so much, like, really trying to to understand, to get the the clients and everything.
So I was feeling a certain way before, and now I'm feeling completely different.
So, like, even more like it changed my business, but it really changed me.
I feel now very capable, very free, very kind of at ease in a sense of I know that I know what I have to do if for whatever reason I don't have any clients anymore.
I know what I have to do to get them back.
So I feel more capable.
I feel like more prepared, more, yeah, more capable to work.
So, yeah, it changed the way I see not only my business, but myself as well.
RelindeOkay.
I love that.
And that's so beautiful.
It's like I know that I can be a moment that I don't have new clients or I don't have enough, but I now know that I have it in me to to create more visibility to attract those clients and to actually sign them.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
And there and I think we're let's go here specifically because it's true.
In the resonance process, one of the things that I do and a lot of people that I talk to who are in the stage where you were is like I'm throwing money at Facebook ads and posting every day or people that even don't have that yet but they're thinking I need to build a big following in a brand and when I talk to them I always say we do it.
It is a very down to earth process where you're actually gonna talk to your people and from there you make your first sales and maybe even the 1st years that's what your sales come from.
You know, it can be so simple and with that information you improve your messaging and your visibility and then people will start coming more to you.
Like often when I say this to people they're quite skeptical.
They're like, but shouldn't I have the perfect website and the perfect social media and a big following already and then a funnel and all those things and you really went with this.
I think that and I think we saw that together but can be scary of it is that I tell you to just go sell without a sales page, without all the assets that could feel like this makes it feel very safe.
What was it for you that I mean, at least as I observed, it looks quite easy for you.
How did you approach that?
OmarThe thing is maybe because as I said before, before transitioning to being a coach, I was a professional dancer.
So I think to begin with, I have that way of going to the audience.
You know, going and talking to people, it's something that I can do.
Maybe I'm not that scared about asking someone to have an interview or to speak with me.
It's because I I already had some experience in that.
But I think in that moment, I was in a moment where I was, you know what?
I'm going for.
I'm going with everything.
I'm not going to doubt myself or doubt this or whatever or be in that kind of mindset where you are.
I don't know if I'm going to do or whatever.
I was no.
Let's go.
Let's go.
If I want to change and improve, and I'm ready for this, and I paid for this and everything, let's go.
Let's try it.
Let's try.
Maybe it's not going to work, but I I wanna try.
So I think that's the 2 things.
I was already someone kind of okay with speaking to people, and I I was, like, in a mindset of, let's go full on.
Let's go.
Let's try.
Let's see what's going to happen.
RelindeYeah.
It's the only way.
Right?
I mean, I have to go into the action part to actually find it out.
What I see in you as well, and correct me if I'm wrong, but is a curiosity.
You are genuinely curious to speak to your people, and I think that's such a big deal to be open to do a good quality customer research is, like, just be genuinely curious about these people because when you started to do these conversations that I tell you to do and, of course, we really talk about, like, how to do them specifically because I know some people might be listening like oh, conversations with people.
I'll ask them these and these questions but often it's it's a little different.
You notice that people at the end of the conversation literally said wow, how can I work with you?
Right?
Can Can you tell us a bit more about that?
How did that go?
Like, how did that
OmarSo yeah.
I am.
I am.
Yeah.
To begin with, I am someone very curious, like, to start with that.
But, yeah, I was curious to listen to people because as I said before, I chain.
Right?
Working with, let's say, people that do something else at not dancing.
And when I moved to only dancers, I am passionate about dance.
I danced for years.
So listening to other dancers, I was passionate.
And some conversation were genuinely so interesting for me.
So I was literally just listening to people talk about something that is a passion for me.
So I was indeed.
I'm very curious of their life, of how they live, or the struggles they face, or whatever.
So I was I was curious.
I generally, I was really interested, and I think people indeed, when they did the interview, they felt that.
And some people, obviously, not all of them, but some people from that call asked me about my my services because they were like, oh, this I don't know this person, but this person is interesting, but I what I have to say.
So they kind of felt comfortable, understood.
And yeah.
So they feel great.
And I think, as you said, curiosity or being very genuinely ready to listen to what people are going to say is very important instead of because maybe before I was a bit like that.
Instead of having that idea of selling, selling, selling.
You know?
Yeah.
It's very different when you show up in a call to listen to what is going to show up or when you show up to that call already thinking, okay.
I have to sell this, this, this, and this.
It's so different.
And I think one of the most important thing is show up to the call.
Have a call with this person, this human being in front of you, and see what's going to to happen.
Yeah?
RelindeYeah.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
Genuine curiosity, genuine interest in that person, and then being coming from a place of service still with a good offer, like, you know, decent pricing, like, all these beautiful things that are important because we do want to make money but really what I hear is you're coming from a place of service and I'm like, I want to know what they need and how I can help them best.
Yeah, is there anything else that you would want to share that changed or pivoted in that time?
I'm thinking maybe your unique method your offers, anything that you felt like this also transformed to up leveled in this period of working together.
OmarSo, yes, I remember one of the things that changed, and I'm still doing that change right now, is something that I'm trying to work on is moving from 1 on 1 sessions, which I love, but to groups groups.
And that's an interesting change that I'm doing still right now.
I'm working on that.
I still have 1 on 1 sessions and I'm trying groups now.
I have a few.
And that's something that before I'd never thought about that, like, let's say this soon.
Because when you think of yourself as a coach, you're like, okay, I'm going to start with 1 on 1.
And maybe in a few years, I will maybe try some groups.
RelindeYeah.
OmarBut in resonance, you brought that idea.
And as I said before, the resonance, I was in the mood of, let's go.
So when you brought that idea, I was like, yes.
Let's try.
Let's see what's going to happen.
So I made some changes, and I talked to some people people from the interviews because some people in those interviews said I love your offer, but maybe in this right moment, I don't have the money or whatever.
And when I went back to them and say, you know what?
I have groups now.
So it's cheaper.
It's different than what?
Like, yes.
Like, please, yes.
So I started with the group.
So that was definitely a change for me because I before Resonance, I never even thought on having groups.
And now I'm even going further because now these groups that I'm doing, and I think this is something we talked about as well in Resonance, are groups that I'm doing to later on, I'm thinking about it, and do something prerecorded.
So some kind of a course or something on online.
So let's say my my way of understanding my business changed because before I was, let's get a lot of clients to do 1 on 1.
And now I'm I'm okay.
Yes.
I love 1 on 1, and I want more clients.
But I'm more in shifting into group coaching and maybe into doing courses, prerecord recorded things.
So that's a big change.
And, again, I am still in that moment changing and seeing how I'm going to do it.
Yeah.
That's something important, I think.
RelindeYeah.
And beautiful.
And the way that you do that now is from actually working with the clients.
What I hear very organically, your offer letter is emerging.
It's like I have this lower ticket offer which maybe becomes this online course that you record.
I have a group then I have 1 on 1 which is my highest ticket, you know, and that's really beautiful and I think that's often people start to think about that and want to create it before actually just for selling something and that's what you nailed so well and did so beautifully within Resonance and continue to do.
So we already know you coach dancers and help them perform better but not by more dance training.
Right?
More by mindset.
So I want to know a little bit more about what you do and where we can find you.
Tell us about that.
OmarOkay.
Yes.
So indeed what I do is not really, as you said, about training more or more hours or things like that.
And I'm and I think this is important because as a dancer, I was in that moment.
I was in that moment of let's train so many hours and again and again.
And now, yeah, with my clients, I work differently.
Let's say I go from instead of doing something outside and waiting for it to change everything, we work inside.
We see what's going on inside and how from the inside you can change what's going on outside.
So what I do with my clients is mainly, I have, like, 3 ways, 3 approaches in my method.
The very first one that I use is going deep into the unconscious and seeing what's going on.
Mhmm.
What's going on in that moment there?
Yeah.
What's going on in on your own conscious?
It could be beliefs.
It could be unconscious conflicts.
Let's see what's going on deep.
Yeah.
So once we explore this part of our insight, maybe we go up a ladder and we see what thoughts are we going?
What thoughts are going in my mind?
Well, how I am thinking when I'm dancing?
Or when I'm rehearsing, what thoughts are here?
Am I thinking this is good?
This is bad?
Do I have something very black and white?
Do I have something very harsh on myself?
So what are the thoughts?
What's going on?
What's the narrative?
And then we see, okay.
So now that I see my unconscious and my thoughts and how they unravel and how they work together, now how can I put that into action?
So now what can I do to shift or to put that change inside in the outside?
So and as you said, it's almost never about more hours or more classes or more shows.
It usually is less.
So I'll give an example.
I have clients.
They are a couple.
And before, working with me, they give a lot of classes almost every day, traveling every weekend with a price.
And after working with me, now they only work one day a week, and the price is much higher.
So the quality of life completely changed.
And not by doing more, by actually doing less, but working from the inside out, basically.
RelindeBeautiful.
Wow.
That is so awesome.
So if you're listening to this and you are you working with Latin, is it Latin style dancers?
Is it work yeah?
OmarIndeed.
Good question because I even said it before.
Indeed, I'm working on the Latin dance scene.
So namely people that work in salsa, bachata, and now Brazilian oo can dance from Brazil.
So, yeah, that's all that all the people that I work with.
But now from time to time, maybe I have some dancer from something else that come and say, oh, I see your work.
Maybe I'm interested.
So it's slowly but surely expanding.
But, yeah, I work mainly with people from the Latin dancing, indeed.
RelindeYeah.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
So if you're listening to this and you're that, where can we find you?
What is the best way to connect with you, Omar?
OmarOkay.
So the best way is through Instagram.
Yeah.
So you can find me in my Instagram.
So my Instagram, it's at Omar NP Coaching.
And so you can find me there.
I answer very, very fast, and everything goes through my Instagram.
The interviews, the calls, everything goes through there.
So, yeah, you can still send me a DM.
I have still a few spots, but, yeah, for sure.
And I'll be happy to know some new people.
So, yeah, for sure.
RelindeYeah.
Great.
We will make sure that we link also your Instagram into this show notes.
So if you're curious about Omar, just wanna see what he does and be inspired, or maybe are interested in getting some coaching as a dancer, then you're there.
Omar, thank you so much for telling your story today.
Is there anything that I didn't ask?
Anything you're like, but I haven't said this and I still wanted to say that.
OmarWell, thank you.
Of course, Like, to begin with, thank you so much for everything, for this moment, for Resonance, and for everything.
And I think maybe something that I did not talk about, but I think in Resonance, it's really something that opens up a way of thing or perspective or way of thing things.
In Resonance, we have, few times in a month, some, calls with you, Ralinde, but also with some other people in the resonance program.
And I think it's very let's say, it gives another perspective to hear other people talk about their experience in Resonance.
How they are building their businesses, or how they are thinking about the interviews, or whatever.
And maybe together, trying to help each other if maybe we have some fears around interviews or something like that, but we are here together.
And I think it really helped because when when we are here together and I'm listening, I'm here.
Oh, this person is also struggling with this thing.
I'm like, okay.
So I'm not alone.
So thank you.
And maybe together, we can see how we can get out of that fear.
So, yeah, that's something I think it's important.
I think for people to understand resonance, I think that moment because we also resonate together.
Right?
Not only with our clients or our businesses, but together as well.
So I think that's something very, very interesting and necessary.
RelindeYeah.
Thank you for mentioning that.
I think the group component sometimes people like I just wanna work 1 on 1.
I'm like well actually that group component gives such an extra layer to exactly what you say.
Hear what other people go through, get inspired, feel understood, inspire each other and, yeah.
And you were amazing also the energy that you brought to the group and the insights was always really really wonderful so I just want to acknowledge that as well.
It really, you get out of a group also how you show up for it and you did that amazingly.
So thank you so much Omar.
I am very excited to keep following you in your dance adventure.
Maybe one day we'll dance together because I love
Omardancing with
Relindethe Latin dancers.
That would be awesome.
When you're in Lisbon, definitely let me know.
I'm going to wish you a beautiful rest of your day.
If you've been listening to this, you're interested, you're like, what is that resonance?
This sounds like something that I like.
Definitely shoot me a d m.
We will also have some links on the page where you can look at.
We can always see how we can help you and I'm happy to help you figure that out.
So let me know and then I can feature you as a next success story if you're listening to this.
And just like Omar, you can tell your story from that point.
So I'm looking forward to seeing that beautiful rest of your day.
