Hi.
This is Daniel J.
Lewis.
This has been a difficult week with the death of Todd Cochran and his funeral and also the assassination and martyrdom of Charlie Kirk, a conservative podcaster.
It's been a very difficult week.
And this does also raise some issues that are relevant to podcasting, I think.
And so I would like to talk about some of these things, and I think they are some somber and potentially controversial issues to talk about, but they are related to podcasting and things that you might be thinking about or struggling with as well.
So I would love to have your comments and your questions around some of these things just to give you an example of some of the things I'm thinking of.
Should you podcast during a tragedy?
Should you even mention tragedies in your podcast?
How do you podcast after a tragedy?
What should you do to prepare your podcast and your brand as a overall thing if you someday die and you want your brand to continue in the podcast to remain online?
What do you do to protect that?
Should you address controversies in your podcast?
Should you address moral or political issues in your podcast?
Should you talk about those things or reveal where you stand on certain things?
That and some other things like that that are some pretty heavy topics.
That's what I want to get into, and I've had this on my list to discuss for many, many years.
And I think it's time to discuss some of these things because of some of these recent very difficult events.
And although some of these recent events may not affect you directly, and you may have your own thoughts on some of them, I think still we can learn from this as podcasters to prepare ourselves, those around us as well, and to better know how to serve our audiences.
So I want to hear from you.
If you have any questions about some of these things or if you have some thoughts, opinions, and comments on any of these issues, please reach out through podcast feedback dot com slash audacity.
You can send a voice mail through that site or you can write a message through that site, and you have the option of being anonymous.
You can leave it blank with no email address on there if you don't want to be recognized.
But if you want to record with your voice or if you want to include your name and email address, that's fine.
And I would love to address some of these things and share some of the opinions and and different perspectives on some of these things as well.
So I would love to hear from you.
Go to podcastfeedback.com/audacity to ask your questions or share some of your own thoughts on some of these somber and somewhat controversial issues.
And The Audacity to Podcast will be back on September 24.
Thank you.
