Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's hear it for the boys because they are back for not quite finals week, but we're certainly prepping here in the pen ultimate episode of Gen V season two.

[SPEAKER_01]: On my episode seven, hello week, I'm a boy, I'm Alex.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hell itself, brought to life on this podcast, just to also, I'm Pete.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if you haven't watched the episode on Pride video, do go watch it because we're spoiled it right now, but broad recap here in the episode at a Beth is having visions of Marie dying Marie has left with Kate to go back to Gadalkan University to confront Cypher, see if she can find Thomas Gadalkan, who they believe is going to be able to save them [SPEAKER_01]: all and over the course of the episode, sort of like the big beats here is that everybody goes after her.

[SPEAKER_01]: She ends up healing polarity taking care of the problem with the microtairs which killed Andre and the continuity of the show and also worse particularly polarity as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then we get to see Marie start to break bad a little bit, go down.

[SPEAKER_01]: with Thomas Cadalkin actually heal him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he is, in fact, crispy man as it turns out.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then the real feel that we all kind of saw coming many weeks ago happens, which is that he is the puppet master.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cypher, there is no Cypher.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is only a zoo right, Pete?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's only dug it was only dug dug bright pillar used to work in blockbuster Come on regular guy who was taken over by Thomas Cadalk in the entire time and Thomas Cadalk didn't wander Is out into the campus with his diaper on Forces a guy a pledge to strangle himself to death and [SPEAKER_01]: starts the call of Godalk in university.

[SPEAKER_01]: The call.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where we got, I do want to ask you guys something before we get into this episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: No.

[SPEAKER_01]: Since this is titled Hell Week, when you were at college, like, I don't know necessarily if you pledged a fraternity or anything like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like, what were your hell weeks?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that were your things like right before finals.

[SPEAKER_01]: What would you do to cram?

[SPEAKER_01]: but go to things.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know that at Ithaca, which is very different from Cornell, we would have a during fire.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just count rocks and eat food, smoke food in mouth.

[SPEAKER_00]: We count rocks.

[SPEAKER_00]: We would do the midnight scream where everybody would scream out their windows and midnight to kind of relieve stress, and it was a fun thing That explains so much of U.P.

[SPEAKER_01]: We were sitting in our lounges with our brandy stifters over here.

[SPEAKER_01]: You guys heard it?

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a ruffian, certificate canons, a ruffian Oh!

[SPEAKER_01]: The heathens are barking at the moon trying to read their textbooks [SPEAKER_01]: My big thing which is pretty gross and retrospect when I was really cramming studying for finals, I would get a two liter of Mountain Dew, a loaf of potato bread, and a thing like a jar of caso, and I just drink about to do a study, dip the potato bread in the caso and eat an entire loaf.

[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_02]: Disgusting.

[SPEAKER_01]: What is your time management?

[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have time to just go get a regular bit of food?

[SPEAKER_01]: No.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that was like car ballooning and that's what I needed.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to be a mom to do and then you immediately lost me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Where's the thing?

[SPEAKER_02]: If you treat every week like hell week, then everything is then it's all fine.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you don't have her sleep.

[SPEAKER_02]: interesting take if you don't ever sleep and having to cram at the end of the semester yeah the sleep is the irregularity what did you do Justin what was your hell week ritual yeah i mean i was a real all-nighter anyway so like i would be just uh getting the night time coffee [SPEAKER_02]: Um, to cramp, but let's keep in mind.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was a theater major theater and government major.

[SPEAKER_02]: So like I was like writing, or just theater.

[SPEAKER_02]: So like, there wasn't a lot of like getting the numbers to line up.

[SPEAKER_02]: There wasn't a lot of lab work to figure out, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a lot of steam work.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't pledge a fraternity.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did either of you pledge at all?

[SPEAKER_02]: It did not, it did not, not my, not my tempo.

[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: I did hang out at the Jewish fraternity a lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had a bunch of friends over there, but never pledged.

[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't want to get in though.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want to get in.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am theater as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was my sketch comedy was my fraternity.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was like exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: I also use a week at that every other day of the week as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm minor dentators, so yeah, definitely.

[SPEAKER_00]: What was your major peat?

[SPEAKER_02]: Tell this video, radio, of course.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look at you podcasting, like a Dol-Tabby Disjockey, you still got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You still got it, you still got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he said he's proud of you, Pete.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's lovely.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was proud of you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got a bone to pick with the J.T.

[SPEAKER_00]: says I was feeling great.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, we were talking a little bit about the episode before we got on air here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, he's all Debbie Donner and harshing my vibes.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not harsh on anybody's vibes, but I will say, like, I love this season of television.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this episode, you might call it generously a picom before the storm.

[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like this is not much happening this episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, damn you!

[SPEAKER_02]: How dare you nothing was was brought to bear like everything was like hey, there's a lot of trying to hear Let's just get a little bit Papa master reveal we saw that coming so long in advance that and we I like the reveal like it's cool I like the way they did it, but there was an event that was a bit apical [SPEAKER_02]: And this episode, there wasn't that escalation to really make it pop, like I feel like both this show and the boys are so good at It's not about the plot.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's about that surprise twist that happens and in this it was just the twist that we sort of anticipated and then there wasn't that next thing and I'm sure Then if I find a episode of this season's gonna be excellent not just this one hat of was more of a runway episode than a real like banger [SPEAKER_01]: okay well speaking of runway let's talk about why we're all really here and that's the ships and uh oh god we let's talk about the safer reveal because that is the big thing of the episode we're already talking about that rather than going back after you talk about the ships and then talk about it again cool yeah call your professor Peter sir he goes finishing conversation she holds on my plans why don't you sure all right all [SPEAKER_01]: I want to talk about the ships don't get me wrong, but we're already talking about the site for things.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the deal.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think like we all saw this coming, and we actually a couple of episodes back, oh my god, I just started talking Pete, why no question.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well my, my qualm, as you said, we all saw this coming, but the confusing part that threw me off, because I definitely was one of the people who's like, yeah, it seems like it's a pop-up master situation, but then when he would be [SPEAKER_00]: The crunchy old guy.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's when I was like well, maybe that's not it because [SPEAKER_01]: I think he hated his body is the thing that was going on there is that he was like God damn it.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a whole thing very clearly as soon as he wanders out and causes that pledge to strangle himself Is he asked him you're in the bottom ten right?

[SPEAKER_01]: You have what was the power or something like he has Opposible thumbs for Otis feet or something like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he has feet like hands for feet.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah [SPEAKER_01]: So his whole thing is supremacy, so the fact that he was in this weak body that could it move, that was chard to a crisp, that clearly goes against everything that he believes in, so he was beating himself up because he hated himself for being so weak for being so trapped.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's at least what I took away from it, and I think that's why he was beating himself.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now, and we talked about it actually a little bit last episode, I think, because it put him in line with the kids who were also all dealing with some sort of self-flagulation in relation to their powers, hurting themselves to activate their powers, and he's sort of doing the same thing here, which I thought was a nice connecting point, even though he's the villain.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Edgar was all about this plan, and then the kind of plan is revealed to be a shit plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, do you think...

[SPEAKER_00]: he knew that this was going to happen or no.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this is one of my two issues with this reveal.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't have a problem with guessing it beforehand.

[SPEAKER_01]: We talked a couple of episodes back about like, isn't a problem to guess at twist and advance, and it's not a problem if it pays off emotionally.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do think how it played with the kids is fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like that part is fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: My issue is that there was a lot of work done in this episode to make us us the viewer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not think the reveal was what it was until it happened by which I mean they keep talking about like Thomas to good talk and is going to save us.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good guy and I don't think they need to figure out absolutely everything because they don't have the same information.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have, but at the same time there was literally nothing other than Edgar like you're [SPEAKER_01]: this is true last episode as well my question is how what this was just a reason to send Marie back to campus to heal Thomas Cadalkin so we could have the reveal so it feels like chess pieces moving rather than something that's actually emotionally motivated and that was a bit of a bummer to me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, that's sort of in line with what I was thinking and it was there's just some red hair, they're a couple red hairings throughout like you're saying that fell a little bit like maybe Yeah, really salty.

[SPEAKER_02]: It doubted I had me doubting our prediction, but then we're just so smart [SPEAKER_02]: So ahead of the game because of the college educations that we've all been talking exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: To get us to a place where when it's just sort of a naked reveal, it doesn't have that bigger payoff.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the thing is that other than like them being nervous, I think it's Kate who realize it is like, oh my god, we got to get out of here, but also he lets them get out of there.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there's no immediate repercussions for anything that's going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it all fields very stagey to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: This gets kind of through the second thing, it's a big buffer to go from a hewishly glatter to Ethan Slater.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's all.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know we're early days.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what he's like at the next episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you're just my dog.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dug is Hamish Lake Ladder.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ethan Slater is Thomas Cadalkin.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ethan Slater, good performer.

[SPEAKER_01]: I saw him as SpongeBob on Broadway, and he was legit phenomenal.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think he has the same process?

[SPEAKER_02]: Did you sense any SpongeBob in Thomas Cadalkin?

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when Thomas Cadalken went, yeah, Mr.

Crembs, that was a surprise.

[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that's the reveal we've been waiting for.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, legitimately not to derail this discussion, but the SpongeBob show shockingly good with great songs.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he was great at it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like really good.

[SPEAKER_01]: I took a dinner and I was like, okay, we'll see the SpongeBob show and came up and he's like, wow, this is a great show.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's fine in wicked, but this is clearly playing against type as a villain, and I just, it doesn't track for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't track for me because, sure, maybe we'll next episode, but we're talking about this episode that we watched right now on the screen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Average Lake Latter is so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: So good.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a problem with his reveal is dug.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was very funny in that moment, but then switch over was awesome.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was great, but then switching from, oh, Hamish Lake clatterers are being villain to Ethan Slater is there being villain.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit of a rubber ball.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's weird because it's, it's more of a, [SPEAKER_00]: It's better for us because now we know who's what and there's no more puppets, it's just the master so we can kind of take him down.

[SPEAKER_00]: So do you find Ethan Slater as threatening as Hamish Link later?

[SPEAKER_00]: They're both toolboxes, so they're the kind of the same to me, so they don't really, I don't He, that's not our human's work.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, people when you, he's blind, not fully blind, but just personality blind, what's the answer to that?

[SPEAKER_02]: That's really good.

[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a question for you.

[SPEAKER_02]: When you see a puppet show, do you, you don't rest until you get the hands out of those puppets?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can see the puppet master, you're like enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's why you got fired from Sesame Street, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: You're damn right.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're damn right.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're lying to the kids.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're lying to the kids, man.

[SPEAKER_02]: They're on the table of the El Malon masking that you come.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's horrifying.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Abby Cadadi died.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Really, certainly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was a little bit of a bummer.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I do like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We can see what happens next.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It certainly seems like.

[SPEAKER_01]: like we did last season.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're just at a with a absolutely apocalyptic season finale where clearly he's going to come out and turn the whole campus into like a great good y'all.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was very big last season of excited too soon.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's interesting is, you know, we saw that earlier footage of Goodalkin and the science experiment gone wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's nice is we now have this new twist that [SPEAKER_00]: you know, they weren't maybe running for their lives as much as to get away from this madman, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: And the kids, yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think that it's an interesting kind of reveal and I don't know, like he's dangerous, but he's also out of his mind.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm I'm nervously exciting for this last [SPEAKER_01]: I'll throw something out based on what you said, Pete, that their Thomas Cadalkin once he's healed is pretty clear of this is his plan with sister sage, this is what they've been planning the whole time and he's like, she was absolutely right, they were 100% gonna come back here if I did this thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do wonder, it would make sense if sister sage is working [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how much she wants the CEO of Vot John, clearly he wants the CEO of Vot job, so I wonder if there is an overarching plan to like burn it all down and start again, potentially and he could definitely be part of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the Vot whole guy is just going to like eat up a good Dalkin and that will be the end of it?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Sort of a check-off's butthole.

[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: The old check-off's butthole.

[SPEAKER_02]: So speaking of my theater degree, it's when a but has an unending vortex inside of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: It asks to, um, in the first act, it will go off in the third act.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a lot of play this season, black hole.

[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, that shot of the pledge coming out of his butt.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_01]: Very gross.

[SPEAKER_02]: I believe it's called a brown hole, Alex, just to be clear.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I agree.

[SPEAKER_02]: They've gone way out of the way to keep him in this place.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's actually a pretty good call.

[SPEAKER_02]: The good Dawkins can end up literally where the sun don't shine.

[SPEAKER_02]: The sister stage stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: She was also teased a lot in this in the previous episode as being I bet we're going to see her next episode and There there she's going to be the bridge back to the upcoming boys season and I wonder what her larger plan is [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that'll be interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a shout out one other side character while we're talking about black hole, which is Greg, uh, to Segway to his name is his name is beef.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, beef.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we he was on full beef display here today.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was we had a beef off as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: We had yeah, I don't know if you guys talked about this last episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't trust that guy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's what that's what I'm so excited about that happened in his episode There was a switch it was subtle.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you guys noticed it but Amma was very much like this could go either way I could go with Greg.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I could go with him [SPEAKER_00]: Not subtle in any way was with that well take it easy you haven't are you understand what I'm about to say Amma is now Team Sam and Greg is being pushed to the side.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was a little too pushy this episode and wasn't listening to Amma And I think that he has nefarious purposes behind his actions and so I think we're gonna finally get Greg out of [SPEAKER_00]: out of this love triangle, which I'm not a big fan of J.T.

[SPEAKER_00]: Saves.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you like him and Sam?

[SPEAKER_01]: That's your ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_02]: I, yeah, I'm an, I am an Sam, and I do think that's what we're going to get here because I don't trust beef.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't think so, Alex.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't trust beef, but I felt like the speech that Emma gave Sam this episode pretty definitively shut him down.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I'm correct.

[SPEAKER_01]: You ruined it after she gave that speech.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess so, but she doesn't have to be with either of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: She could choose herself.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't have to, but if, you know, if she a woman can only be something if she's with a man, is that what she's saying?

[SPEAKER_01]: That seems to be what you're implying to.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's saying a woman can only be something if she's ready.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that, I'm gonna agree with that [SPEAKER_01]: I guess so, I'm this episode in the last episode, having a little, honestly, the season I know I keep emphasizing this, but I've got a hard time hanging out to like, why is his character here, other than he is part of the cast, so he's here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like everybody else is getting progression, everybody else is getting stuff to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sam went out to his journey of the soul back to his parent's house for a little bit, now he's back and like you're saying, he's like, just a guy with superpowers who's here, who likes Emma, and that's pretty much it.

[SPEAKER_01]: hey man he's just trying to do right you know he's trying to grow as a person and uh...

you know i'm here for it i think yes i just everybody has had so many moments this season and i feel like sand has not had that moment to maybe it's coming maybe it's coming so maybe it's coming in the finale for sure i mean i i wish we were on a get to predictions yet but uh...

some someone's got to give in this final episode i i i don't know there's a lot of emotional taking [SPEAKER_02]: I guess I mean more life-ending is what I was thinking somebody's gonna die.

[SPEAKER_02]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, they're gonna die.

[SPEAKER_01]: We can get a prediction to a character.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, good call.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, because here are some of the characters in the table, um, [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but Maria in this episode was behaving all the like emotional connection and sort of like protagonist stuff feels now she's just like a little there's a white her she's been sort of white in this episode and it's just like we're not understanding why she's doing things she's just like I'm gonna go do this and no one's talking about it was a sort of a strange thing so I don't think she's going to die but I definitely felt a little bit of a separation from her [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think, you know, in Zelben's droning on, he had one good point where he's in kind of turned bad in this episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw this moment where they were like, hey, stop.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to go in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you could tell by the look on her face, she was going.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: There was no stopping her.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's someone told her she could be as powerful as the big bad and that's all she needed to do here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now she can't stop, like she wants to find out if she can, you know, take on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Justin, do you want to respond to Pete's blither, Blather?

[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good, it's a good pattern.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to be in the middle of you too, but finally, for the first time.

[SPEAKER_02]: The, well, I mean, I agree with you, I think she's sort of believing the hype and willing to challenge even her sister's vision of like, hey, you're gonna die, you're in trouble, girl.

[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I think she's like, I don't care.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm too, I'm powerful enough that I, [SPEAKER_02]: Like it will face this down a matter of what it is.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just wish you had been able to say that a little bit or like somehow Talk about that feeling of like power and Recloseness that is like well being a kid is it's just that's the metaphor of playing with on such a large scale here I just needed to hurt a say it or give us a little bit of that [SPEAKER_00]: And she had that interesting conversation with polarity, the dad there where, you know, uh, he was like, what are you doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Just heal Kate, so we can fucking, uh, end this madness.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that line in the sand was very interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, that was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, go ahead.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I just can say like, Kate, I've been very vocal about not trusting her in this episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: She sort of sitting there being like, [SPEAKER_02]: She's gonna heal me any second now and I'm just gonna smile and not say anything so that because I If she says something she she knows Marie won't do it right polarity that says that she's like Fuck no, she's not no good.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll save her, but I'm not gonna save save her But here's the thing one where while we're talking about this Kate's powers are basically the same as good alkins except she just has to touch you rather than just like look at you So we're saying good alkins this is the god to your threat, but Kate is right there [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they all seem to have kind of variations of each other's powers and maybe that's the point.

[SPEAKER_01]: The show is making as they've been exploring how the V works and what it actually does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I do think it was pretty telling that they revealed the way polarity was able to stop cipher or more specifically Doug Pritebell was by the metal in his blood.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like that seems to be the [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if we're going to get some specific reveal so much as they are just like hammering home that all of these power powers are variations of the home thing the same things excuse me But I don't know it's interesting it's interesting to draw that connection [SPEAKER_00]: I also, it was like this fun, while we're talking about interesting things, like when they had the kind of dudes versus cipher fight, well, it was interesting, you know, I was like, oh, great, they've got numbers on them, but I was like, oh, no, that's really working against them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which I thought was a fun, [SPEAKER_00]: kind of use of power and a fun kind of like sometimes when you have these showdowns you're like oh I know what's gonna happen but I thought they did such a great job of giving us this uh look at how many dudes are taking on this one person they're in trouble really switched that on this ad because it's like you don't know who's on your side and who's not so I thought that was a really fun fight sequence very interesting we've seen a lot of fight sequences and [SPEAKER_02]: Greg could finger finger fuck me till he comes cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: Good line.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do you agree with just saying great.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have a question for you guys.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is something that bothered me a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: The scene where Jordan is driving and shifts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're two different heights.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's dangerous for driving.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like for renting the pedals or when do you talk about it?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if Carl Jordan is shorter and can't reach the pedals, like, or tidy the whole thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, most people can reach the pedals.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I think when the pedals look like the mirrors, you've got to change the side mirrors, you've got to change it.

[SPEAKER_02]: We should have had a moment to do one of those things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but then you say safety.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's backed, they switch back right away.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it was like, [SPEAKER_00]: wasn't really an issue.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but a car can come out of anywhere at any time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Safety is the first and most important thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think shows should be emphasizing that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Driving safety first.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Really true.

[SPEAKER_02]: And also, like, take care of your big buttole.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because it might come in handy later.

[SPEAKER_00]: I really hope you're in charge of TV shows before, because I feel like nothing is more fun than when you're in a driving scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they really talk about safety of driving.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, Dan and two.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was no longer ten and two.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, put on your seat.

[SPEAKER_00]: What?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Pete, have you been taking some sort of driving classes?

[SPEAKER_00]: My niece is learning to drive.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we've been talking about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, what time are we holding on?

[SPEAKER_00]: 11 and one.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like 11 and one.

[SPEAKER_00]: 11 and one.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's way closer.

[SPEAKER_01]: That seems too close.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying it's tough.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a joke.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think like.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'll do like a nine in a three, maybe, but 11 in one.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's like right at the top of the steering wheel.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just got my elbow in the middle.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm fine.

[SPEAKER_02]: Good enough for New York City.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have to slap it a little bit, spit it around.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just press a button and it does it for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I heard.

[SPEAKER_01]: Any other notes for the episode, things you guys want to call out?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I did.

[SPEAKER_01]: This wasn't a funny line, but I wrote it down.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've been sick for so long.

[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot what it's like to feel healthy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was like a good line.

[SPEAKER_01]: I also thought it was interesting, and maybe they specifically avoided this, that they did mention the fact that Marie with this power level could have healed and saved Andre potentially.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that feels like maybe that's what it was that whole discussion too of like don't blame her blame me for his death was very powerful Yeah, that was the dad has just been such an an awesome addition to all the madness is like a nice calming factor.

[SPEAKER_00]: I [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's the literally the adult in the room and it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, though I do think he's still taking a lot of the place that Andre probably had in the script.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to have his presence there and Sean Patrick Thomas is really good on the show.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's fantastic.

[SPEAKER_02]: I agree, getting back to death predictions.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think polarity is pretty high in the list of people that may go down.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, don't say a dude.

[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that the other person.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think beef.

[SPEAKER_02]: I would be willing to about 100% say beef's going down.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I hope so.

[SPEAKER_01]: That makes a lot easier when the beef goes rotten.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: The beef's been in the sun for too long.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to go through all just about the death thing is [SPEAKER_01]: We have those dreams that Annabeth is having of Marie dying.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think you see like a bloody pool or something like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the big death of the finale is probably going to be Marie, but as usual with these sort of predictions, you don't see the whole thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I think what we're probably going to get.

[SPEAKER_01]: My prediction would be Marie dies fighting Thomas Cadalkin, but is able to heal and resurrect herself.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is the ultimate expression of her powers that she is in fact immortal.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can't kill her, which put her beyond the level of home lander.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that would be my guess just based on that particular vision.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess that's cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: One thing you talked about, Marie's sister, I really liked her kind of side of things and kind of de-here her kind of how she thought about all these things and what a nightmare and that must be to be able to kind of like see your parents die and to come true.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was like really cool speech.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes when you get that speech, it's a little left down, but I thought it was very cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, before we wrap up here, when we talk about a best boy who was best boy in the episode, Pete, [SPEAKER_00]: was your best boy who I'm going to go with Sam on this one you know I feel like he's really about five lines on the right side and he's present and so I'm excited for what he's going to bring I'm nervous about Marie you know so yeah this last episode of the [SPEAKER_02]: I would have picked Emma.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think she's the character that in an episode that didn't have a lot of the emotional Power that has been coming through the rest of the season.

[SPEAKER_02]: I thought she still did.

[SPEAKER_02]: I like her attitude She got to be funny.

[SPEAKER_02]: She got to make some good choices.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes freezing her tits off while she was in Sam's pocket was great.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're really good Yeah, so I'm I'm all in on Emma and I do well like I'm I'm shipping Samma [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, Sam Emma is coming in.

[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, Samy.

[SPEAKER_02]: Sam Emma.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to choose Doug Breitbell as my best boy of the week.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a blackbuster video.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy named Cypher, who is your favorite comic book character.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is no Cypher.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's only Zool, right, Pete?

[SPEAKER_01]: No.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, what an arc you guys went on.

[SPEAKER_02]: Friends with Zool, then fighting, droning on, and now back to Zool and best friends.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I really hope nobody tells of what happened to Blockbuster next episode because he's going to be I am too.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love Blockbuster.

[SPEAKER_01]: We should bring it back the three of us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it Send me as much buddy as you can and I'll get a Blockbuster going [SPEAKER_02]: physical me out and get a blockbuster going cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean by that?

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll start making some questions.
