On some party people when or come off sty Oh is Mic and Bow.
Speaker 2This is my freem back.
Speaker 1It's a beautiful work Wednesday.
Everybody listen to my freem t Bone go heels the best.
I love those guys.
Willie P.
You annoying s ob get out of here.
You're listening to the Mac and Bow Show on Mac and Bow Radio.
God Wednesday morning, Little hump day, Mac and Bone Show.
We got all kind of stuff to talk about.
What a plethora of topics.
We got w's for both of the Blues, Carolina and Duke representing the ACC last night in style with big winds, wake forests.
You tried hard, you try hard way, but it doesn't matter, baby, because the ACC has a six to three lead in the ACC SEC challenges.
Ain't no embarrassment like last year.
The ACC could I say, could end up winning this damn thing tonight.
NC State placed tonight against Auburn.
I'm a little concerned they might mess, they might mess.
These vibes up here For a man that wants all these teams to win, I'm a little concerned about NC State.
Tonight we will discuss the college football playoff rankings.
The news they're not near as good as it is on the basketball side.
I believe the ACC for the ACC.
I'm I believe the ACC might want to just focus on hoops, might just want to put their energy into basketball for a while here, So we'll talk about that.
We've got Hornet stuff going on.
Hornets to New York tonight against the Knicks.
Con K Nipple made his big Foulin appearance last night, and we got Panther stuff going on, including a very upset t Bone about the Pro Ball voting and two Panther players getting disrespected.
Bone is not happy about this, ladies and gentlemen.
So that's coming up as well here on the show.
Plus, we've got playoff percentages.
What are the matth dork saying?
Now, Bone is our playoffs percent We will see what they say.
It always feels low, but we're the pants, even though, man, the numbers don't like that.
You go, oh, we get high.
That's what we're something something like that.
I like that saying, I like that saying.
The fit dog is in the house, very happy in his tar heel gear.
The Bone Man and his duke gear ready to go.
What's up?
What's up?
Yeah, macoys, it's exhausting right now, being a Duke fan, carrying this conference in multiple sports right now, I'll tell you what I'm you got football trying to get to the playoffs.
You got, It's just you're asking a lot out of me right now.
I'm carrying a wagon uphill.
Even the Lady Devil's in soccer are in the final four this weekend.
Yes, I know you're very up on that team.
I know you're very up on me Minestrella and the UH and the Blue Devils on the pitch.
But anyway, yes to carrying Duke could carry the conference right on out of the CFP.
Though, Bo, when's the issue there?
When you said t Bone was very upset, I thought it was about the way my other friend was treated last night.
When the Clippers told Chris Paul you got to go home.
You out of here on his retirement tour.
Uh, they sent Chris Paul away and released them.
Chris Paul had like thirty rocking chairs to collect around the league.
Yes, and they won't even let him do that.
Man, he's gonna find another two.
Yeah, not a gr Just put it this way before we talk about it.
Not a great day for my friends yesterday.
Not a great day No, it was not.
It was not.
It was a good day for your friend John Shire, though bone friend as Duke and Carolina both win.
I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed both of those games.
I love seeing.
How about our blues, y'all, how about our blues Boney and Fitty Macy mcke he's back in town, man.
I just want's baby.
I want damn W's and we got him last night from Duke and UNC.
I guess we'll start, well, let's actually start with the UNC game.
It was late last thing that happened.
Hell, some of y'all might have I wouldn't blame me if you went to bed.
Dick Vittell was practically falling asleep on the broadcast.
He told everybody about four times this day was like midnight when his damn game ends.
But Carolina ends up getting a W and what a couple of shots late by freshman guard Derek Dixon hits a three and then a pick and roll drive to the basket.
The defense clearly worried about him dropping it off to Vsar or Wilson, and I literally typed in my notes earlier in this game, UNC guards not able to finish inside off the pick and roll.
You could see Kentucky was like, I know, you want to pass it to one of those big dogs, how about you go finish?
And they couldn't do it.
I kind of haven't had a rough one.
I'm not gonna hammer him too much, but I do get concerned about him.
I get concerned about the point guard spot, and especially without set Tremble in there as that veteran influence.
Not saying he's a pure point but he can handle it if you need to, and he's a veteran.
But on the road last night, deaf freshman Derek Dixon stepped up.
That was absolutely amazing to see.
And this was old school tar heel basket.
This is a proper tar heel team.
Showed some guts size like hell, it was gritty and gutty, but the size that they have and pummeling Kentucky on the offensive rebounds twenty offensive rebounds for twenty two second chance points.
That's Carolina basketball.
Man.
Yeah, that was the ping puli and off the glass.
You were right about that and the numbers you gave out.
They held Kentucky also to eight percent from three last night, Kentucky just one for thirteen, No starter had a three.
It was just Brandon Garrison off the bench at a three.
Jaren Stevenson probably won't flash much in the box score four points, five rebounds, but his activity his defense was big on that can test late.
That can test late on Chandler.
That's a really big Any win on the road like that against the ranked team without set Trimble is a big deal.
The guard play will improve the point guard spot directly would be the question if Evans is going to be that off.
But Dixon picked him up last night, so Dixon always encourage Twenty four minutes, nine points, three rebounds, Kayan Evans just two points one to stits foul trouble, foul trouble minutes only.
I I mean, maybe maybe Dixon ends up being the guy that plays a lot more than we thought Fitty.
That would be based on what we see.
That'd be huge for your team.
That would be big fit dog.
What do you think?
Speaker 3Yeah, he should be Carolina starting point guard.
I think moving forward.
I look, I know why I said some things about Kayan Evans, and I don't want to run away from what I said because I'm not a coward.
Speaker 1But I was wrong.
Speaker 3I've mean, I've seen enough macketts.
It's it's it's funny to me how the Roy Williams quote that I always reference is sou is so true.
Things look and feel different than the ball goes in the basket.
Because until Carolina won the game, didn't feel great.
Speaker 1About the way they played.
Speaker 3Because when you hold a team without a field goal on the road for more than ten minutes, especially a school like Kentucky, you should not be losing.
But there Carolina was having to gut out a win.
But I'll take it because they play hard, and that's something that we've questioned when things haven't gone right under Hubert has been the effort.
I didn't question the effort last night, I questioned the execution.
But how about Hubert Davis Man, it felt like every time he needed to draw up a bucket, he drew up something that gave Carolina something in the half court they needed it and the play to effectively won the game.
The layup that doesn't happen last year because you don't respect Van Allen Lubin rolling off that pick and roll because you couldn't catch a bounce pass.
Like as much as Kentucky wanted to make Dixon make the play.
You also had to respect the fact that if he saw our catches, the walls just gonna dunk it on you or you don't want Wilson coming downhill.
So that's a big difference where Carolina was last year.
That's where they are right now.
Speaker 1Unbelievable.
And Powell also had two threes in the first half.
So you can you combind hell of a shooter?
Yeah, you combine his numbers with Dixon.
They got fifteen points off of those two guys off the bench, and depth has seemed like an issue lately a little bit.
But to get fifteen from those guys and five rebounds to assists, that's ah, He's that's really really high production.
Hell of a shooter, bone bone.
I'm not able to ignore Fiddy's little cheap dig there at the guy that transferred to NC State.
Very sad, very immature.
Just focus on your team, focus on your game, all right, what you have to do with it?
Why don't you have some acc pride this week?
We're all rooted for the same teams this week, are we?
Hell?
No more eagle?
Baby more eagle?
Alright?
Anyway, Uh, what else did I want to say?
Uh?
Yeah, the v sar Wilson combination in the paint.
That is again I'll say it, that's proper.
Unc two big studs that you can throw it into play inside out, and uh Wilson.
It wasn't the prettiest game where you could tell all the attention from the defense was on him, you know what I mean.
And he's still he's five to nineteen from the floor.
But I love the way he did other things.
Twelve rebounds, six assists, and he had a great assist to Bogovacs late for that three before Bogovac's filed out.
Vidiot wasn't pretty, but that's almost the beauty of it that it was ugly.
It's on the road.
It's a grinder.
And yes, I couldn't believe Kentucky had not scored a field goal in nine minutes and the game was still like tied or Caroline was down by one.
I mean, that was a bit disturbing.
But Carolina rolled up their sleeves got a gritty win.
And I know Kentucky is missing a bunch of guys, but set trembles on it like that's the thing like, And I'm glad Dicky V kept saying it throughout to make sure the nation knows this when this is this is at least a top ten team in my opinion, when set Tremble comes back like they at least when their A game is up, that definitely like that.
Especially a Dixon is gonna provide depth and pow off the bench there.
I'm gonna blow your mind about big hang Vsar Mac.
When you look at his face in his game, think of a young Colin Hoggard.
If Colin Hoggard was off from Europe and he came over to play for the year.
I feel like there's something going on there with Vsar and looking like he could be he could be from the Hoggard family.
Now I could see it.
I could see it.
So a great win for UNC Duke one early man.
That thing got to be a barn burner.
Never worried for a second.
They got up fifteen in the first half.
I thought of they going to run the defending champs out of Cameron.
I thought wrong.
The defending champs showed some damn moxie boogie.
Flann really got going late.
I mean, his baskets were the he was.
He was the one bone that damn near wanted for Florida.
Although Foster did pick his pocket late was a huge play there.
It was how the beginning of the second half that really came out.
He was attacking the rack very well.
The Florida's size presents a serious, like a serious problem.
There ain't too many teams that big and strong in So what did Duke do?
They countered it with a lot of size in their own right, play three bigs at once.
At one point, I just I could not believe the rim protection from Duke.
Isaiah Evans block five shots, Patrick Gungba did a little bit of everything.
Eleven five, five and five.
Yeah, five blocks, five rebounds, five assists.
My gott he can passed about him and Booster.
What a passing big man duo for a team that used to have a lot of rim protection problems.
I can't remember the last time they had eleven blocks any game against a team like Florida that's so big and bad.
And you're right, the three bigs for Florida three by you know, while their guards are new and not obviously what they were last year, in the back court, the bigs are the same bigs.
They combined for thirty rebounds last night.
Those three starting bigs, Condon howgin Chinewu so that they were every bit the part up front that which you're right, Gunba was absolutely amazing.
Started the game with a three, stepped out hit a three, took a three late that I was kind of like, I'm not sure if that's the guy you want taking threes in a late possession there, But nonetheless to go eleven five five blocks to assist.
I mean, Gunba is the great compliment to Boozer.
And what more can you say about about Cameron Boozer twenty nine points, six rebounds.
Fitty brought a question off the air and I was taking the same thing coming in here, and they're different players, and Cooper Flag really started to take off sort of after the Christmas time when Memory went home and Fitty mocked them, but he came out like the player we fought.
Cameron Boozer is further ahead right now than Flag, right at least offensively, because that's a scorer.
Yeah, as a scorer, I would say footwork, can he just that footwork into paint is so next level it's ridiculous.
As a scorer, I would definitely say right.
I would still say Cooper flags all around game, although Boozer can pass the hell out of the ball, but just all around game handling it, bringing it down.
But don't get me wrong, I mean boos I'm not here to I'm not here to say slander Boozer after twenty nine points.
He hit two big shots late, hit that big three late, and then got a drive to the basket late when they needed it.
How about the shot by Slim Evans Again, you talk about drawing up plays, that was an out of time out play from Shire.
It was a two man game with Boozer and Evans might want to do more of that, and Evans ended up hitting his first three of the night when they needed it.
I mean, they were pushed man.
And that's the best thing I can say.
Is this duke team Bone that's trying to, you know, elevate guys from last year's roles, trying to bring in freshmen, trying to put people together.
They are being tested over and over and over again, and they've been passing them so far.
Now I think their hardest test, Yes, yeah, it's coming up Saturday at Michigan State, but tests like this or you know at Bone, they're only gonna help Duke Man.
And they passed it, like both Duke and Carolina tested last night.
Had to really work, I mean just had to fight and scratch and claw.
I love seeing these teams win those sort of games.
Are mischains stay in Texas Tech coming up as their next non conference tests in the next couna, say Saturday at Texas Tech, I believe in a couple of weeks.
Then it's Louisville right away in the ACC.
So they've got They've got a number of tough games still to go back.
I like to call this team it's set Davis on Turner last night, who's doing a ton of college basketball coverage by the way, now, Sat Davis was talking about how they need more help obviously for Boozer in these moments.
Evans helped plate.
But I like to call it Mac booz it or lose it, because if something happens to Boozer, we're gonna lose it big time.
Yeah.
That's the thing with Tim is you do you need support guys to step up.
So I'm so glad to see Evans hitch his shot.
Foster hit him in the game against Arkansas.
Foster made a big steel last night.
But all the little things that Melite Brown does too, like the tip at the end of the game on the baseball pass by how he I mean, there's plays that Melite Brown makes much all I got talked about Jaren Stevenson a moment ago.
He's not a huge box score guy.
Malite Brown very similar that you'll look up and he may impact the game as much as as a guy that scored twenty in a game.
And he may have one point in four rebounds.
What a glue guy, man, what a defensive menace.
And by the way, he had an amazing block from behind and then saving it in not sure he saved it.
He might have stepped out of bounds.
I know Todd Golden had his forty eighth conniption of the night over that but won a play by Brown.
And speaking of Brown, where'd he come from?
Syracuse?
That's the sort of w the ACC needed.
Last night Syracuse beats Tennessee at home.
We talked about how they showed us something in some of those close losses in MAUI.
Hell of a win for Syracuse and as badly as the ACC bone needs to get this basketball conference going, and I think it is so improved this year.
I was written like hell for Syracuse last night Wake ends up getting kind of run out of the Joel last night by Oklahoma.
No negative.
That was disappointing, man, because that game was in the balance for most of it and then it got away from him.
I thought they would at least be in a tight game there.
And then the ACC won a bunch of other like close one Virginia Tech overtime over South Carolina, Notre Dame, over Missoo, over the fighting Willie.
Speaker 3Peas he was blaming the refs last night, Oh get out, he was ashow at the Joyce to the ACC's up six to three.
Speaker 1There had a and M beat Pittsburgh, Miamie.
Miami kind of blew out Old Miss.
They were up by nearly twenty at one point, Cal beat Utah.
I'm sorry.
That's a non conference game there, cow a cow They won against Utah last night in their own little challenge back.
The negative would be Florida State beat one O seven to seventy three at home by Georgia last night.
Yeah, that one was ugly.
Well there's is ugly.
Florida State's still really for being left out of the College Football Playoff two years ago.
The yeah, they almost lost.
It's affect their basketball team, Bone, they almost lost by as many as that year's team lost to Georgia in the uh in the Arch Bowl.
Actually, Hornets tonight konk Nipple fresh off his appearance Bone on Jimmy Fallon last night, and I've been asking the question.
I've been saying, this is awesome that the Hornets have somebody on the Tonight Show.
By the way, Sam Farber informed me yesterday Bone that this is the first Hornet on the Tonight Show since Mugsy Bugs Little Factory for you there.
I had no idea.
I watched it this morning.
It's really quick, and you could tell Jimmy Fallon knows nothing about basketball, or certainly nothing about Hornets basketball.
But it became apparent the reason he was on is because Jimmy Fallon.
I'm sure his producers love the story of CON's parents having the whole team over that that was like the biggest fun you could tell that was why he was on.
Because I was wondering, like he won Rookie the Month again, like I just like he's off to a great start, but why is this Charlotte Hornets rookie Bone on the Tonight Show that he Fallon was in love with that story, I thought Jimmy Fallon big League.
That's that's why I thought, Hey, maybe Jimmy Fallon just watching Hornets hoops.
But apparently not.
He says the intro is it was it was awkward when Fallon tried to talk basketball.
The intro was, I'm looking at your numbers.
They're like the craziest thing I've ever seen, kind of like, yeah, oh, three point numbers are a little crazy.
Though, on that mellow probable tonight with risk soreness back and again this it's been a big week for Carboni mentioned here in the six o'clock hours out of Nick, Carboni points out that this is not the same risk soreness of the past.
This is this is listed at least as left to risk soreness.
The risk of the past has been right, risk swortness had that before.
How did I know?
How did I know something was getting ready happen over there?
Why?
Speaker 4Oh?
Speaker 1I can't even mention the term risk soreness on this radio show.
Speaker 5Now.
Speaker 3I was just referencing my ailment.
Mack, you got to read Hollywood's a Sex where we go to break?
Speaker 1Well, hold on, I got to mention and bone because bone mentioned LaMelo.
How about the fact that Brandon and Trey Mann are not playing again, So we were kind of I think we're kind of led to believe Bone the other night that the Trainers felt like three games in four nights, let's sit them out.
Well, now you're sitting them out.
Now it's like four games and you know, six seven nights whatever it is like, now you're sitting them out.
So anyway, we got that going on Hornets and the Knicks tonight.
Speaker 3What text are you gonna read?
Fitty why Duke in Carolina?
You know who points they scored last night?
Mack six seven?
Speaker 1Did they both score?
Oh my god, they did a double six seven?
And this weekend it's six seven day.
It's six seven day.
Yeah, this weekend, you've got Jane.
Speaker 3You got December sixth, This weekend in December seventh, it was six to seven weekend.
Speaker 1Okay, all right, I'm pretty exciting.
I have a question for you.
Can I go to break?
Yeah, when we come back to college football rankings are out, we're gonna have at least one more year of the hoodie.
It appears and Max Penn State Nitty Lyons are putting on one of the most ridiculously embarrassing coaching searches this side of NZ State many times Sports Radio seven w FNZ.
I don't see the.
Speaker 4NFL being entirely interested in Bill Belichick right now.
Speaker 1I really don't.
The last opportunity had in Atlanta.
Speaker 4My understanding that that blew up in unbelievable fashion at the eleventh hour, and I think the rest of the league knows that, and the rest of the league knows what what Bill would be bringing with him, and it is just a wild turn of events that have transpired since his departure in New England into where we are now that the perception of one of the greatest coaches, if not the greatest coach in modern history is a team is a person that the NFL teams are not interested in right now.
And I think when you look at where we're at and you look at what's happened.
You mentioned Ben Johnson and what he does with Kayler Williams right away, and you look at what Mike Crable's done, and you know Sean Payton in the quick time he's a little bit older.
I think there's like there's a little bit of a turn here that's happened in the NFL, and I don't think Bill Belichick's really a part of it.
Speaker 1That's James Palmer, NFL Network talking to Zach gelb Our friend Zach gilber Our Weekly Friday guest Gelby about, Hey, do you think Belichick's going to coach the Giants?
He went on to say no, and I don't think he's coaching in that league.
Again, I don't think that league cares about him.
I really raised an eyebrow bone when Josina Anderson was saying how teams were interested in him, because I just they weren't that into him.
The last go round, the Falcons were the only ones where was felt like it was serious, seem like bone there was a fight, you know, like a fight about who would have power and all that stuff.
I just and then we see what Bill's been doing here in state since then, and I just find it hard to believe that anybody in the NFL is watching what's going on in Chapel Hill and thinking I need some of that.
Yeah, do you make that?
Wouldn't make no sense to me.
Yeah.
I don't know about Belichick coaching the Giants, because I'm not sure he coached the tar Heels this year for the most part, So I'm not even sure what team is exactly coaching right now.
Did you see the Mike Florio nugget about a week and a half ago in regards to Belichick and the Giants?
He said that those there are those with the Giants that are worried about how many times Belichick may end up in the New York Post back page section because of Jordan Hudson.
Who would have ever thought mat that there'd be concerns about Belichick and his ability to make the tabloids problem?
Yes, here we are who who would have thought any of this stuff?
I mean, it is the most like am I dreaming this stuff in sports?
Is Belichick and his honey?
It's just on.
But anyway, we do have news though, pertaining to Belichick and un C bone Greg Barnes twenty four to seven uh.
The way he reported this bone is that you are from inside Carolina.
Greg Barnes says unc UH is committed to having Bill Belichick as their coach for at least one more season.
How many times this year has either so, especially on the Lombardi Belichick side, Like I feel like there's a commitment ceremony like every other week with this program right now, there'll be a statement from one of them.
Belichick's gotta say he's committed, whom Barty's got to say I'm committed.
There is more commitments right now, mack Dan Larry kingad back in the day.
But will this one lasts longer?
I don't know.
We're gonna have to spend some time either tomorrow or Friday talking about do tar heel because Luke to Cockroe to a column in the Rally News that observer saying just pay him the money and get him the hell out there.
And I'm curious if tar Heel fans like like it did get better, especially on defense.
There's some real good numbers, David Hale tweeted out and how much better the defense was.
But that offense, my god, they need major changes offensively.
Who are they going to get to come in there and run that offense?
Who wants to go in and be the new coordinator there?
Bone when they're not losing with job security to your point, ye, So anyway, Yeah, that's not the most assuring way.
That's the most not that's not the most assuring way to have an insider term it for at least one more year.
That's you know what I mean, Like that's that is not a huge vote of confee.
So all these coaches that are are moving around, whether it's goalwsh moving on from South Florida to Auburn.
We saw will Stein go from Oregon to Kentucky.
We've seen so many summer All going to Florida.
Not Kiffing, I know, but all these other ones.
You're telling me Mac that uns long term wouldn't be better off with those guys at the Helm.
Well, there's legitimate college football level of coach rather than Belichick, who it's gonna end at some point, and you gets what you're gonna have to do.
You're gonna have to restart it all over again and try to clean up whatever's going on with Belichick.
So a guy like John summer All or go ash or will start all these other names of these coaches that are going to more prominent football programs.
Maybe not will Stein at Kentucky, but all these other names like these are better fits than Belichick's are for the better of the program, not for next season, but for a long time.
The question is, are you just delaying the inevitable with Belichick?
Or is the or do heels.
Fans really think there's a chance for him to get it going.
Nah, Lombardi has asked for patients.
But I gotta tell you, one of the biggest issues is that that that clown Lombo was running the show from a personnel standpoint.
That's one of my biggest issues, Like, it's just what why has he qualified to do that?
There wasn't even an NFL team that wanted him to be an executive in their front office after a while.
No, you're qualified to be a front office member, the leading front office member of a college football organization.
No, he wasn't even God, he wasn't even good in the NF when he was with Belch.
Right now, Fiddy, I'm worried about mack here because when you go after Wambo like that, he is going to type up a letter that should get here to Mac, a very strongly worded letter.
After he types it up on his typewriter, it should be here about a month, his typewriters famous typewriter.
Yeah, what's gonna get here first?
Speaker 3That letter or him back from Saudi Arabia begging for more oil money to build a football roster.
Speaker 1How'd that go for you?
Speaker 3Maybe that money will come through this offseason.
The biggest issue with me is the messaging.
We hired a seventy three year old head football coach, and we're being told now we're three years away.
Wait, like today should be an exciting day because the signing day, and we're gonna sign our biggest class ever.
Speaker 1We're gonna have forty kids that sign today.
Speaker 3At least there could be more, and that should be exciting, it should be celebrated.
But how many times do you see freshman rosters winning college football.
Speaker 1It's very rare.
So they could be coached up.
Speaker 3We might take a step next year, but not where you thought we'd be when we hired this man in this time of year ago.
Speaker 1I don't think when they when they went all in, all in on him, I don't think anybody was thinking, oh but.
Speaker 3This is the most half asta take a while.
This is the most half fast all in of all time.
They put their money there so they can tell us fans, hey, we're trying, but they're not.
They're not all in, because if you were operating as all in this dude, this dude would have been gone when during your bye week he was in Nantucky with his girlfriend and his assistants could not get a hold of him.
Speaker 1All right, if you're if you're in, if you're in the portal and you're trying, and there's a lot of decisions that are made, as you guys know, in the portal where it's this team versus team, this guy deciding between this team, this team, and this team, Like why is Belichick often gonna win out in those with his energy level?
All that goes on to thirty third NFL team.
Yeah, there's thirty third NFL team.
The congratulate the Jets.
They know how to get you to the NFL.
Like they completely everybody the board, guys, uh, you know that wanted him so badly, John Pryor and everybody everybody involved Belichick, Lombo, everybody completely over estimated the lore of Belichick and I'll get you to the NFL.
All that crap, all that crap.
But anyway, let's move on to other stuff here.
We will spend some time digging into that later on in the week.
College football playoff rankings are out yet again after last night.
Let's start bone with the whole ACC situation.
Everybody this side of Duke Nation is rooting for Virginia in ACC country, Virginia came in ranked seventeenth.
That is ahead of the highest rank group of five team two lane at twenty.
North Texas is twenty four JMU.
This is very bad news for any hopes that Duke could get in if they win the ACC championship because JMU is ranked now for the first time at twenty five.
It feels like last night, Bone, the doomsday scenario got even more likely if Duke were to upset Virginia.
Yeah, not what you wanted for James Madison to sneak in there at twenty five.
Mac I started a movement last night on Twitter and it got one like that's how this movement got going here.
Do you think Duke is being unfairly punished because they have five losses?
To losses about wins and losses?
Well, what about what about winning the North Carolina state championship?
Does that not count for something around here?
Yeah?
That definitely does not get respect with the playoff committee.
Speaker 5Bone.
Speaker 1They's so doubt about that.
Although Bill Belichick's out there wondering, Man, he's thinking, that's impressive.
That is really I couldn't be one of those teams.
Bill ran the table in reverse.
He did, He did so anyway, this is rough man.
If Duke wins and JMU wins over Troy in their conference title game on Friday, I think it's going down this way and this will be an unbelievable embarrassment for ACC football.
It's just brutal.
But I do want to focus on how improved the basketball conference is later on again in the show acc acc acc.
Speaker 3Are you?
Speaker 1Anyway?
Anyway, let's see what else was notable.
We'll talk about all this throughout the show.
Miami bone it's not looking great for their causes and at large.
That's the other part of the ACC situation.
They stay at twelve.
They don't even move up after beating the heck out of pit BYU is eleven.
If BYU loses Texas Tech, they're out of the picture.
But you have Alabama, who somehow jump Notre Dame by barely beating a not that good Auburn team on Saturday night.
They jump ahead of Notre Dame.
We'll talk about that.
I'm sure as the show goes on they're nine.
Notre Dame is now ten.
Notre Dame's now the last at large team in that in.
But Miami and Notre Dame don't play this week.
It feels damn near damning for Miami.
BYU holds a lot of cards here, right.
I know Heather Dinnisch was talking about it last night on her segment on the Playoff show.
But if BYU beats Texas Tech, I don't think they are, But that causes a whole nother problem there, because then in Texas Tech and by you both get in, that probably bumps out Notre Name.
But then with Alabama loses to Georgia BYU mac wins the Big twelve and Alabama loses to Georgia and they have three watses, you can already see Notre Dame getting bumped out of there.
But if Alabama loses also in that scenario, what's going to happen there?
If who loses alab Obama loses to Georgia BYU wins the Big twelve, that's gonna knock Notre Dame out of there, But that would also create three was wass Bama also, So what happens with three wass Bama in that whole thing?
I can't unless they get slob or noted.
I can't imagine the Committee's gonna penalize them for being in the s would more I think about it now, I will say this, Alabama has a absolutely no good, sorry ass pathetic loss.
The Florida State loss has not aged well.
But I don't think you can punish them bone.
I don't think you can punish them if they have to play because you got teams like Texas A and M and Old Miss just sitting pretty not haveing to play extra games.
I don't think you can take knock them out Bone.
If they lose, it would take Georgia harsh.
It would take some Georgia dominant blowout win probably to get out.
And even then it's going to be controversial because they beat Georgia in Athens.
Now here's one of the best that might be the best.
Is that the best winning college football this year at Athens against the Dogs.
I think it has to be because the other two teams ranked ahead of Georgia haven't lost yet.
Yeah, I'm going through my head, Yeah I think so.
Yeah, So to beat the number three ranked team in the country in their house, So that's a major fact.
Ohio and India ANAMAC don't exactly have massive wins.
So yeah, it's it's that right there.
Alabama Georgia now here's where the Committee MAC can have a little bit of a mixed message that confuses people.
Texas is now one ahead of Vandy right thirteen fourteen, because you could figure that out head to head, right, Texas b Vandy.
But then, although I do support Notre Dame in arguments, Notre Dame is two spots ahead of Miami, and it doesn't feel like the head to head is equal there to maybe what it is for Texas and Vanderbilt down the line.
It feels like in one area Texas has jump Vanderbilt, but yet Notre Dame Miami.
Yeah, Texas has beaten teams.
Texas has beaten Texas A and m Oklahoma and Vandy.
That's three top fourteen wins.
Who's Vandy's best win game?
Cocks definitely not that one.
Add Tennessee and they're not even ranked anymore.
Yeah, So like there's a big difference there bone between the resumes.
But I get what you're saying.
I mean, the point we donny stands.
They feel like they apply different rules.
That's what I hate about it.
Give me a set criteria.
This matters first, this matter of second, this matters third.
But they'll never do that.
They want wiggle room.
They want to be able to do what they want, you know, in differences.
Well, one thing that happened to Vandy also, and this is what can happen.
Back throughout the season, Vandy had two wins that were top fifteen wins in a row at home, but those teams so off they beat then number ten LSU and then number fifteen Missouri.
But then as we get to the ranking time, those teams are not what they were so at the time that they did have some high quality wins that ended up now kind of like, yeah, teams along the way there get their resume now and look at Texas's resume now, it's unbelievable.
Bone Bone Or is he an old miss fan I'm very confused, or is he now transferred to LSU.
I'm very confused about theo Vonne.
I do want to mention this.
I do want to mention this, and I'm sure the text line can make fun of me for this, but I do acknowledge that what is going on at Penn State right now is one of the most embarrassing things ever to occur to me as a fan.
Bone.
The fact that Penn State continues to whiff on coaching hires and get coaches raises.
I'm wondering if former NC State Athletic director Lee Fowler is running this search, because I've never seen a search and an ad be able to get raises for other coaches at other schools, more other than Lee Fowler back in the day.
Kalani Sataki is going to stay at BYU's a BYU guy.
I didn't even really think he was a great fit for Penn State anyway, but it feels like they're damn near desperate.
They fired James Franklin before freaking Halloween and they still don't have a coach and it's National signing day.
Elko, drinkle Witz, Clark Lee, all these dudes bone said no thanks and got raises at their current schools.
It's embarrassing, man, Yeah, it's a crazy list.
I'm trying to find.
So embarrassing what men from barstool has been locked into all this spoke to Urban Meyer didn't work out, Elko was close and they didn't want Meyer.
They jumped to Signetti, Rule, Freeman, Drigowitz, Clark Lee banked on an Iron Bowl loss to talk to Kaitlyn de boor Lincoln Riley's agent pulled his name out Sunday.
They tried Sataki.
They lost Bob Chesney along the way to UCLA, like everybody that's out there, they tried, Now what direction, Tom denarsing, it's apathetic?
How do they try brank Key from Georgia Tech?
Like, where do they go?
Now?
I would just give the damn job to Terry Smith.
I noticed no one's talking about him other than the players and the fans.
But like, I would just give Terry Smith the damn job at this point, I mean, it's just ridiculous, it really is.
It's embarrassing.
And you go and fire a coach like James Franklin and our fans jumped all over him.
Right, you can't win a big one, all that and all that was true, but you can't fire James Franklin.
And they have a search like this.
You look, you look sorry.
And now James Franklin has flipped four, Penn State four.
He's gonna take your players.
Wait you see the portal.
Wait, you see the Penn State players in a portal go to Virginia Tech.
Like this program is good?
How many steps back this damn program gonna take?
So Franklin, by the way, Sycamore shoutout James Franklin Mack.
He got a commitment yesterday from four star wide out fat Rat Brown, And I'm saying that correctly.
F A T r A T davy on Fat Rat Brown, You're a hokey.
I don't want any jokes Fitty about rats at all.
Stop it back there.
I don't need I don't need to do anything back there.
I wonder what his major is gonna.
Why do I predict?
An Ishmael text saying Fiddy's nickname also fat rat.
Speaker 3That's not a bad nicknack.
If I was in the mafia, you would like that.
Yeah, Hey, but he yo, fat Ratt.
Don't give me some canoli.
Speaker 1By the way, that's your mafia voices.
It was not good speaking like Willie joined the mafia.
Speaking of rats.
By the way, Lane Kiff and hask flipped to first five star from Old Miss to LSU.
Wait till you wait to see it, Wait to see how the Old Miss fans think they were mad the other day.
Wait till he takes all their commitments and then takes all their players into portal.
How about to call that Kiff he got the other day back when he was driving he said, hey man, I just want to tell you right now about that.
I want to tell you right now, go TIGA's.
He got a phone call from uh Eddie.
All he could understand was how about right now, go Tiga.
All he got was a go Tigers.
The course, of course, it's all again.
When we come back, Adam Feeling finds a new home again.
We've got Panthers Pro Bowl outrage, someone got disrespected and Smitty with some praise for a young Panther wideout Sports.
Speaker 5Radio ninety two seven WFNZ and go back a bone.
Speaker 2Cocher has.
You know, he's not fast, but he knows how to run routes.
He knows how to utilize his body.
And if you go back and look at an interview he was stating, he said, hey, I knew I.
Speaker 1Had to get.
Speaker 2The angle and I had to use my body to create separation.
That's a young man who knows exactly who he is and how to get open with the tools that he has.
Sometimes people talk about someone's lack of speed.
It's not about the lack of speed, is do you know what to do with what you have?
And Coker knows exactly.
He has never been a speech but what he is as a hell of a route runner.
Speaker 1That is Steve Smith.
Give it the praise to Jaylen Cocker and his route running.
He was on his podcast with James Palmer talking about the big deep catch that he had, the way he kind of used his body to get a little bit of separation.
Of course, Pryce literally put it in the exact spot it had to go, which was amazing.
But during the break, Fitty points out that Steve Smith has gone bone from getting on Jayalen Coker's wait to giving him a praise.
And remember, Smitty was a Coker guy before he was even a Panther.
He was like, coming out of the draft, he said, this dude from Holy Cross is going to be a player in this league.
I think Smitty likes giving tough love to some of these Panther receivers.
Yeah.
I think that's what it is.
You know, I think he I think he wants them to hear him call him out.
They obviously are going to respect the fact this dude's a future Hall of Famer played my position for this team.
You know what I mean.
I think I think he I think he kind of sees it as I can send a message to these cats because I do think he wants them all to succeed over that.
Yeah, he's not rooting against that, but he's not.
Smitty's not gonna lie about what he's feeling, right, That's true me.
He doesn't like a guy.
Smitty's not gonna say, hey, what's the what's the thing that I'm supposed to stalk?
Or if he doesn't like, like, if he thinks you let yourself go, he's not gonna hold that guy.
I believe he's called you and I fat before when he's walked by the window, and you know what, he's motivated us at times, Mac why we both lost way that I'm eating feeling.
If you're in the area, can you want buy and call me fat again?
I'm starting to put on a few pounds, yere Mackie.
Look at the production of Coker when it's coming is Atlanta?
Fifty two yards on four catches San Francisco.
He had three for thirty two and then of course four for seventy four and the big hud against the Rams.
He's almost like a trade deadline pickup in a way, like he's on the team, but he's like one of those guys like in baseball where they say it's almost like getting a guy back in August that you is on your team.
That's a pickup.
It feels like Coker Matt's almost like an acquisition of when he came back and how he's producing for this.
Yeah, that's a good point, and I think he's gonna get.
The thing about him is, I think he'll be better next week.
I think he'll be better the week after that.
I think it'll be better next year.
Yeah.
Like, I just think you're dealing with a young player that I consider My show is really pointing up for I think.
I I don't want to speak for you, but I do consider myself a happy member of the koke Heads.
There you go, Hey man, that's uh.
I think we all should be, you know, if we're willing to say that.
If not, we might just say we're Jalen Coker fans, all right, if you're not, if you're not willing to put that label on there, Fitty now has a sound effect for coke heads over there.
Speaker 3This is what slogan I do during the game whenever, whenever Coker makes a play, we just there's.
Speaker 1A family show.
Here's a family show, all right, Come on, now fit dog.
Don't you appreciate that?
Gwinnever all right, it's fitty being fitty, Fitty being fitty.
Let's move along from fitty being fitty, though, and let's talk a little bit here, bone Man, about about some things.
Bryce Young wins the Hemmy Award.
I joked a couple of weeks ago, Bone when he was a finalist for them, And if you don't know what that is, that's the little trophy.
Little Hemmy trophy means he's him, right, it means he's that dude, at least was this week he was a finalist after the Atlanta game didn't win.
It's the Monday Night Countdown award that they give out.
I joked two weeks ago that it's a same size as Bryce.
Bryce now has one boney.
He now has a Hemmy for his performance against the Rails that get him on tonight The Tonight Show.
Jimmy Follwing, I did apparent, No, your mom has to have the whole team over for dinner in order to get be a Charlotte athlete on the Tonight Show.
Maybe Colbert though, you know, maybe Trayvon Merrick back on the roster after the suspension, so that means Kayln King has been released.
The cornerback he was elevated last week.
I'd expect him to go back to the practice squad Pittsburgh, claims Adam Thielen.
So there you go, Bone.
Adam Thielen is becoming the new Deontay Johnson from the Carolina Panthers to two more teams in one season.
So good luck with him there.
So thelan Bone once a chance to compete for a super Bowl title in his final season.
Bro, you lost?
Why you in Pittsburgh?
Yeah, I'm not He's not exactly.
You might want to just come on all the way back here if you want to go to the Super Bowl.
I know this.
We got a better record than they do.
I know that.
Right now, you're going into a situation where the whole fan base is Matt at Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers.
Matt, I've just checked my sources.
Aaron Rodgers is probably quite cranky right now.
I don't know if you believe in that or not, but Aaron Rodgers could be in a bad mood here.
With Aaron Rodgers falling apart, multiple fractures on his left wrist, got his nose all busted up, the other day.
I mean, man, that was an ugly second half for them, Buff, but he gets to go home to his alleged wife.
We still haven't seen yet.
It's true.
We're still waiting on that vote.
Aaron's got her hidden into darkness.
She is permanently she lives at the Darkness Retreat, Bone, so no one can see her.
Lights are off in there.
Wants you to be a big secret So Bone, you are upset.
Speaker 5Now.
Speaker 1This is kind of funny, Bone, because when I mentioned this on the show yesterday, it did not make you upset.
But you've had a day to marinate on this, and you are now very angry that Derek Brown is not jac Horn's number one vote getting corner in the first Pro Bowl voting of the fans.
Derek Brown not in the top ten at all and not in the Kay Adams very upset about it as well.
Who's stumbling for Derek Brown to be the defensive player of the Year, although Miles Garrett Mack may have the the inside truck and that Miles Garrett has forty seven stacks so far this season.
But yeah, Derek Brown not a top ten defensive tackle.
And I finally found it took me a minute here, but Tom Pelasero of NFL Network has all like the top ten by position.
I don't know if this has been a thing lately.
I do not remember this.
I have also in front of me the top ten long snappers and fan votes.
JJ Janssen right now is not in the top ten for long snappers.
This is a damn.
We're gonna have to go ahead and change that.
We gotta start a movement.
Fans, you got miss the snaps is nineteen seventy three can get in the top ten and fanist seriously, you've got to vote for JJ Jansen.
Y'all.
Y'all got to spread the word to other people.
This isn't outrage My man is not in the top ten.
All right, this man, I'm told this man was the first person ever to long snap BO when they created a game.
He is the first person ever to perform a long snap.
JJ's profession also got shame yesterday on PTI, and he was upset about it on Twitter when Corneiser and Wilbohn asked Jeff Saturday, is it hard?
Is it even hard to long snap?
Speaker 5Yeah?
Speaker 1JJ tweeted out the screench on of that one.
JJ A lot of JJ disrespect here.
It ain't good man, it ain't good And yeah, I said about Derek Brown, like fans don't know crap.
I mean there's like fans voting for defensive tackles or offensive linemen.
Is kind of a joke, isn't it.
I mean, I have no idea.
I mean, are they ever watching?
They were paying attention to Derek Brown.
These aren't even real people on the list of long snappers.
It's very very small font here.
But Scott Daily, who are you?
Scott Daily?
The Bears?
He's third.
I can't even read.
How do you vote for long snapper?
Speaker 5Like?
Speaker 1How are fans going to go to bom there's a Pro Bowl section there, oh, kind of saying what do you base it on other than I root for this team that's my long snapper?
I guess that's literally it.
Yeah we are.
And also here's the thing too, though it's Pro Bowl games, it's games, they play games.
Omaha Productions wants games.
They're in charge of this whole thing.
Ah, what better guy to go there and maybe reinvent the whole Pro Bowl.
He should not only be in the Pro Bowl, he should be in charge of the Pro Bowl.
That's true.
He the man plays lawn games more than actually practices, all right, teriously, he's perfect for that situation.
That's a good call.
And also bring Darren Bates over there too, because I'm sure he can do something with these games.
When we come back here on the Mack and Bone Show, matth Geek's update the Panthers playoff percentages?
Are we getting enough credit?
In the geek World Sports Radio ninety two seven WFMZ
