Episode Transcript
[SPEAKER_00]: What is up, everyone?
[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to another episode to check the kick shirt.org.com as a website.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm the host Devon and we are back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Off of a pretty darn good weekend of fights over in France.
[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty interesting card.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna talk about that real quick.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll run through that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then what we're gonna do is we're going to talk about in the middle of the second of the show.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna talk about some, [SPEAKER_00]: rumored fights that are maybe possibly signed.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out more and come on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to talk about two important fights coming up this weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's jump right into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: UFC Paris.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to run through the card and then I'm going to talk about the culminant main event.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sam used to feature on a ban and second round submission dominated the first round on the ground.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, [SPEAKER_00]: got banning to get her back, choked her out, really, really good performance by Sam Hughes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sam Hughes should just give more love in general.
[SPEAKER_00]: She is a Washingtonian, I believe, from the state of Washington and was like a cross country runner and then was like a cross country, coach should be a woman's high school cross country.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, just [SPEAKER_00]: kind of one of those types of people that's been like a life-long athlete or, you know, she's not like an incredible athlete, but you know, someone that participated in sports their whole life and cross-country is definitely like a, you know, if you if anyone's ever ran dead on distance running like cross-country is a super like it's a mental thing and so is MMA.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's probably why it's transit, it's so good for her, so well for her.
[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, she's probably got like a 50 50 record in the UFC, but she went down to Fortis.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's got safe say to her corner.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's a tri-hard and what's not to like about someone that, you know, tries very hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and not fucker Dina of defeated Andreas Gustafson, Gustafson was not able to go full R word, um, fucker Dina of one out there and finish them with a barrage of punches.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what's like, uh, was a left straight, right straight, uh, you know, across the two, um, [SPEAKER_00]: don't recall if it was out of the South Power orthodox either way, um, kind of causes Gustafson to go really back in a weird way because we've seen Gustafson take like shots from just like bigger punches than not fucker enough, but maybe it's just like one of those quick accurate unexpected punches clip them on the chin, sent him really back, fucker enough, you know, was throwing standing hammer fists in the finish, got to love that shit, uh, Robert Brightcheck [SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, go on Twitter and listen to Robert Brechek's really, really, you know, motivational post-fights speech.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was so awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm totally kidding.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably like trying to learn English and, you know, he's probably, like, probably embarrassed, but it's like, don't follow your dreams.
[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot do it as basically like, what is post-fights?
[SPEAKER_00]: What he said, um, and Brad Devars has just done, uh, Sam Patterson, like the dudes are like a five-fight knockout streak ever since moving up the Walterweight, um, Sam Patterson looked really good, destroyed tray waters and just kind of ran through him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I like this stop is tray waters was like about to die.
[SPEAKER_00]: So why, we don't need people.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can be unconscious and still on your feet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, the ref's job is to protect the [SPEAKER_00]: Low key like one of the most dominant performances of the year, like no one's going to talk about this, but Kawi Fernandez destroyed Harry Hardwick.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like the, I don't know, that that's the other hardwick brother, the other hardwick brother, Watson the contender series, kind of, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: cage warriors, cage warriors is really confusing for an organization like a cage warriors champion, like kind of, you know, does it mean something?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure like you, are you getting conno regreg or are you getting re-smoky?
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Mason Jones had a really good win.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's another one, but it's kind of like, you know, I think it's starting to mean a little less in current today's UFC.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Harry Hardwick just got absolutely destroyed Kai Fernandez.
[SPEAKER_00]: Loki, like, might be the top one of the top three leg kickers in MMA right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: People are not going to like that statement, people are not going to like a guy that just goes out there and circles plants hit you with leg kicks, but like it's your fucking job to do something about it if you don't like it, you know, just like a beep or homes out with their wrestling.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can, if you don't like it, either MMA is not the sport for you or do something about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Kai Fernandez is out there shopping dudes down with like with leg kicks, they're brutal, they're hard, poor Harry Hardwick literally was like rolling on his side, like he was on fire.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like this stop, drop and roll, type drills, they teach you to do it in grade school.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was like rolling out of the ring, rolling to Kai Fernandez to like try to shake his hand.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the dude has to get taken out of the arena, like, you know, wheelchair.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't a good look for Harry Ardwick, especially after he did his whole thing, where he went to like a press conference, like snatched a mic and was like, I want my chance.
[SPEAKER_00]: You got it.
[SPEAKER_00]: One of the best performances on the card.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, by the way, that ended in round one knockout, you know, like, and it probably went on too long.
[SPEAKER_00]: Antidelia.
[SPEAKER_00]: ran through Marseine, Taibura, some talking head on Instagram was like breaking down this fight, but like not really breaking down the fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just like Marseine Taibura is going to win because all of these other people came over from Belotor on the PFL and didn't do well.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, yeah, but go watch anti-deli as fight with like Henan Fahera.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just like, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's been knocked out before, but like he's made it to the final several times heavyweight stuff and they a little bit different, like the levels, the levels that heavyweight are probably a lot closer unless you're at the championship level.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, anti-delia like ran through Marseign Tyre Brue, like was able to actually, you know, ran himself into the clinch, which I don't love and it's something that MMA fighters just like, I don't [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to elude to this, but I might as well elude to it, but I'm going to talk about the Terrence Crawford and Kindle Alvarez fight this weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: And like, these MMAsions, and I'm going to go back to this with Kyobayo, like these MMAsions, like need to start bringing in true like boxing coaches.
[SPEAKER_00]: Coaches that are going to teach people how to use footwork, how to avoid the clinch, footwork, how to exit the pocket.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't always have to exit on the straight line.
[SPEAKER_00]: People that are going to teach you how to pivot.
[SPEAKER_00]: People that are going to teach you how to throw in combination and teach you how to set up your rear hand.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, and I know Andy Delia is training with Cobb on with Tom Aspen, all he's like become a main training partner and taught me Aspen, and he sure should look like it like the hand speed, the way he was able to counter Tibera and that finishing sequence and then just club him with like a three punch combination.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Andy Delia, you know, like his nickname was at walking trouble, like that's gonna be his, I don't know, I feel like [SPEAKER_00]: I need to look at him.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got it right walking trouble.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, he didn't walk though.
[SPEAKER_00]: He ran through type where that was a just a really cool performance by him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Omar C, defeated, uh, Brents and Habero, Brents and Habero has a zero percent takedown defense in the UFC like anyone that shot a takedown against him has gotten it.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he had that really nice chemore sweep on Omar C but like Omar C's not that great like yeah, he's an undefeated like heavyweight, but I don't you know.
[SPEAKER_00]: haven't seen any, in like eight months from now, I'm gonna probably be on your eating my words, but boy, boy, if you had never watched MMA before and like you just was like fucking bored, flipping 3SPM plus, we're like, I'll watch a UFC fight, clicked on this fight and you heard them screaming the French national anthem.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you see Omar, so you're gonna be like, who is this dude?
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, is this the next Conner McGregor?
[SPEAKER_00]: When really, like, he's kind of a nobody.
[SPEAKER_00]: We had boy a boy to like UFC.
[SPEAKER_00]: The same thing you did to Budai where like this guy had a winning record and was coming off of a win and you cut him from the UFC like William Gome's.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I'm ever gonna watch another William Gome's fight unless he figures out his way to fight for a title.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is, make a sandwich, smoke break, poop break, MMA.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, don't ever say stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like, Wayne Gomez may be like the most boring male fighter on the roster.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's real tough skids.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, Robert Uchalla, that's on him as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: And like, he had a fun fight with Hyderamil.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's because of Hyderamil.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's French and like, look what we just saw this past weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: So like, there's a reason to bring this guy back just to appease the French fans.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like, his lucky, he's not some random dude from like Ohio.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the tough, it's a tough watch.
[SPEAKER_00]: He won, you know, there's arguments for which I'll let whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Axel Sola, the lost Jonah's brother, defeated Rhys McKee.
[SPEAKER_00]: And kind of a weird stoppage, but like if you watch it, Rhys McKee goes like face down on the canvas.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you go like face down, you go like kind of face down, it just doesn't look good, and at least herb made a fucking decision.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Jones defeated Balaji Oki, [SPEAKER_00]: Blah Joki came out there, club, club Mason Jones, hurt him real bad, Mason Jones is able to come back and hurt him with a cross, and then get a bunch of, get some submissions going.
[SPEAKER_00]: The first round was very close.
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, we went back and looked at the scorecards.
[SPEAKER_00]: Two of the judges scored the first round for Oki.
[SPEAKER_00]: Second, the other judge, sorry, a third judge scored a four Mason Jones, so they went two to one split on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then Jones, I was even throwing it in the shirt Augs Lack.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, this fight's not going to hit the score cards.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to go seven or eight more minutes.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way there's ten minutes off in this fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okey's like, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that Judo throw that Jones hit went out there and just kind of once it once once Jones got rolling like once Oki's moment past he was never back in the fight again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So shout out to Mason Jones, that was pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, his nickname is a dragon.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's he's Welsh the Welsh flag is like probably the coolest flag in the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, it's got the dragon on it, but like John good in is like, here comes the fire breathing dragon and I'm like, all right, bro.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Jones.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, what does this Picasso's retired Paul Craig with that violent like literally buzzer at the buzzer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, big elbow from on top fucking crush Paul Craig.
[SPEAKER_00]: Paul Craig goes out.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's done with Paul Craig when he loses a fight in the exact position.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted it to be in by the way, like this was his exact position.
[SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Paul Craig jumped guard and just got fucking elbowed and plighting shout out to him though the dude's got a win over the current UFC champion Mega Manic Alive and like one of the most violent gruesome finishes over Jamal Hill who was a former champion Cohen of it Mommaw St.
[SPEAKER_00]: Denny Defeat and Marysio Huffie and like I'm here to eat all the crow It's like fucking Huffie look bad Like And Benoit looked really good Benoit came with a proper game plan [SPEAKER_00]: People are starting to talk about like a fight nerds exposure thing, but like it just seemed like Huffie was just like trying to fight like Gene Silva, but just did not have like the strength and athleticism, you know, like backing up, planting, and firing that one shot, like I like the fighting nerds.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I do believe in the reason why I picked Gene Silva in the Shirdog fantasy MMA was because I think Gene Silva is the best one of the bunch.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought that last year, that's why I picked him from around 145.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought Carlos Pratoz was probably like the second best of the bunch.
[SPEAKER_00]: And even though he took a loss to Ian Gary and a semi-conoclose fight, like I don't think I'm right about that still.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I still think Gene Silva's probably number one and call us protest is probably number two.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Huffie's probably the worst of the four males there, like not including like Michelle Olojachuk.
[SPEAKER_00]: The shit, maybe he is, maybe Olojachuk ends up being better than Huffie, but [SPEAKER_00]: Number one, who kind of like quit in this fight, like he just like looked defeated after that, like second takedown, you've got a guy where in the he got taken down and you like mounted so easy, you got out of the mount in the shirt, I was like, I'm like, this isn't a good look for Rufi, and then two seconds there, I'm like, okay, this is okay, good for him, good for him, he's getting out of here.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then he like let's then walk in, then he stand back up.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he wasn't doing anything to stop St.
[SPEAKER_00]: Denise pressure.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like St.
[SPEAKER_00]: Denise is a really good kicker.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a very good body kick.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those are really good head kick.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was landing on Huffie to take down his real ending.
[SPEAKER_00]: Huffie could not get his game going.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was trying to intercept Benoit's pressure with like jump knees and he ended like one elbow on a break.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all nice, but like, [SPEAKER_00]: This is kind of what I get back to.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what Leia Tuporia has been so fucking successful in MMA is because for MMA, Leia Tuporia has elite footwork.
[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to pivot out.
[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to pivot out, step without getting his feet crossed.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he does not always have to either take the back foot or just be planted and [SPEAKER_00]: If you could just, when you've got someone like when we want something to need with poor defense, that's a morater, that's not very slow, that's just like pushing forward and you're this like a sub-alms striker, like you need to be able to pivot away from that, unlike fire.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like you should just be using your feet to get out of a way to get out of the way of someone that's just like pressuring and blitzing forward.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like where's your pivot and your upper cut?
[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you've got Saint Denny pressuring, you just like take it backwards and I'll step and let them walk straight into a fucking upper cut.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like upper cut, I'm straight through his guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like just go watch like 20 minutes of Vasily LumaChango.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's, yeah, it's just, yeah, it's becoming a thing in MMA where I'm like, these guys cannot strike without getting into the climch.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a thing in women's MMA always.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like striking into the clinch, not using defensive footwork backing straight up to the cage.
[SPEAKER_00]: The most dangerous place to be in the UFC is against the cage.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you've got guys that are like high level strikers, like Marisa Huffie, that don't have defensive footwork like be a madador.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and going back to Italy, it's a poor.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like he's got these got the good footwork.
[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to he knows how to evade.
[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to evade and then get right back into position and then fire again.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what's next for someone like Huffie.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see BSD fight Michael Chandler because someone is just going to explode, like they're just going to be two tanks running into each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: And BSD's with the new camp, him and Emma Volver are out of that same camp now.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's good stuff coming from him in the future.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then, main event, this is what I got right.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I actually feel like I kind of nailed it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I went back and listened to my breakdown.
[SPEAKER_00]: damn never made him was like, emova's probably the best boxer in the division and his boxing and hand speed.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this counter punching is gonna give Bahaio problems.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he'd be able to at least avoid some of the grappling.
[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, Kaibahayo cutting weight twice.
[SPEAKER_00]: I did mention that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't love that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned Kaibahayo's fight IQ and I was wrong about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I've over estimated it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I actually [SPEAKER_00]: don't know if he's got this crazy high fight IQ that he speaks so highly of about himself.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like you're going for like these weird moly Thai leg sweeps in the, it's like, does the fighting nerds just only train cool shit?
[SPEAKER_00]: I like the fightingers, but I feel like it's a gym that's just missing like fundamentals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, go to, go to Kazakhstan, go to Ukraine, go to Russia, go to Cuba, find a box in coach, find a coach that's going to teach you a footwork.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're in Cuba or any of those places, you're going to also probably be able to find a good wrestling coach and just get some coaches that teach fundamentals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if you have a good top game, go out there and learn or really good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go learn a double where you're like cutting the angle and taking someone down, go learn how to go out, go learn how to use a low single, a high single, go get your bodylock trip take downs, like just a lot of stuff seem to be missing from hoofies and bios performance this past Saturday.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kyle needs a boxing coach because like he's a crafty South Paul will throw this like beautiful check right and hook where go boom he's he's getting out of the way and he landed it quite a few times like he's got a nifty check hook he's got a good fucking jab he has no tools or no setups to set up his rear hand and he's a big dude with decent power that's a South Paul like [SPEAKER_00]: If you are a South Paul, does some poya, prime example, South Paul, that is a lead hand South Paul, but like he will throw that left cross, or what he will do is he will blend the left cross or the left overhand into a shifting combination to throw the right behind it, but like you're not seeing any of that type of stuff from Ohio, like he's just kind of a one-handed fighter.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am no professional fighter at all, limited kickboxing training, but I like to, I really like to geek out, like on YouTube tutorials, that's something I really like to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a big heavy bag in my office right here.
[SPEAKER_00]: like I just like to try to do certain things and like I am a right-handed person, but I prefer the orthodox stance and my left hand is not that great, but I'm learning learning new tips to be able to load my left hand and throw it with more power.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I, you know, watch Kaya behind.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, that's kind of how I feel about myself in a weird way.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like, he's got to learn how to set up that rear hand.
[SPEAKER_00]: He really, really does got to learn how to set up that rear hand.
[SPEAKER_00]: The light kicks too, like he was lining a lot of like kicks on him evolve.
[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, not a ton, just, [SPEAKER_00]: He might have had the right building blocks, but there was just no structure for him to build on.
[SPEAKER_00]: He involved looked really good.
[SPEAKER_00]: His boxing was super fast.
[SPEAKER_00]: His takedown defense was all there.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was getting into that front-head lock.
[SPEAKER_00]: If behind you did try to go down below the waist, I thought the takedown attempts are real half-hearted from behind you, though.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you could just tell after like the first three rounds of this fight, I scored the fight, I scored it for sure to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just scored all five rounds for him above, even though like round three and round five, [SPEAKER_00]: I think people were also scoring that fight on the idea of like, one dude's been doing so well, that finally the other dude like a land, something of significance and like that's something you remember, but like even of Bahayo would land, so like he landed one shot in the third round of significance and then like, email ball was just landing, like three more shots of equal power.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, oh, well, email balls when having a ton of success and I haven't seen Bahayo have a ton, so maybe I should score that type of thing, I think.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was eating him alive in the pocket, like he moved all his hands to be looked really fucking good.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wish there was a moment was like in the fourth round where like he hurt.
[SPEAKER_00]: And business like this might be it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And like he was definitely, you know, being jumpy, being pretty fucking sugar happy with that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like I think if you would have just like gone and rained more combos.
[SPEAKER_00]: like just thrown some more stuff at Bohaio, like there could have been a moment there because he was definitely had Bohaio panic in that moment, ripping the counter plunge just to the body, finishing upstairs.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just, you know, the guys, the number one contender for a reason, I don't think he's gonna be next to Fife or a title, but, you know, his ranking is where it's supposed to be for you, Mavov.
[SPEAKER_00]: And, I mean, you're not gonna hear me say this often, but shout out to the French, again, like, [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm a pretty damn good car this weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is the first segment of the show out with the old.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about what's hot, uh, couple supposed to maybe fights that are going to be happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not breaking any news because I've only heard this from a couple sources and none of them are verifiable or solid enough, but I'm pretty sure it's going to actually happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about a three fights that will be happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: UFC 323, it looks like they've got a main event.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I'm not reporting this as factual or 100% this is just what I'm seeing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's probably what's going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it looks like Alexander Wolkenowski, versus the Royal Murphy, will be the main event at UFC 323 at Team Oble Arena.
[SPEAKER_00]: I last seen so, it does something really cool this week.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what it looks like it's going to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Little girl Murphy's coming off that really dope spinning elbow knock out over Aaron Pico.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is a smart fight for Volk to jump on as fast as possible.
[SPEAKER_00]: Get this fucking fight signed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't sign it real drop the news before this weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you can have this fight news come out tomorrow Tuesday and recording this on one day.
[SPEAKER_00]: you guys will be listening to it on Tuesday, have this, have Dana dropped this news, have it get leaked, make this solidified before the Saturday fight because Jean Silva does what I think he might do.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably the true number one contender and I think most fans are going to be clamoring for that over Lorna Murphy, but if the contract's already signed, nothing you could do about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: make that fight if you're woke.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a more winnable fight for woke, but I still think it's very dangerous.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, that fight's going to be that card's going to be headlined by Alishandra Pantosa fighting Joshua van.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they've gotten to the ring together.
[SPEAKER_00]: Did the face off Josh van looked great against Brandon Royvel.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, [SPEAKER_00]: that should be really really cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then also to on that card, which this is a good fucking card.
[SPEAKER_00]: If this is what it is, pretty sure this should be like one of their thought, like it's going to be the, um, I forget what they call it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The third from the top, their premiere fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a co-man, not the main, um, I can't think of the name.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but [SPEAKER_00]: we'll be taking on sugar shonomalli and shonomalli's return that's what it that's looks like it's going to be the third from the top on that card.
[SPEAKER_00]: All those fights make plenty of sense to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, like just this is a good shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jean so it was going to win this weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to win by knock out.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about that later.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'd rather see Jean silver versus Volk but like.
[SPEAKER_00]: Genesol will also kind of seems inevitable in a way.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm cool with that, like Volkswagen old dog, like if anyone, if any champ on the roster deserves a shot to be calling, especially in the men's divisions, is Volkman.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: be a good moment for Leron Murphy, too.
[SPEAKER_00]: If he does, if he does win this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then, pants and then, like Joshua van at Pantoje, that's going to be really fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, Song Yedong and Shana Malay should be a fun fucking fight, too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like all three of those should just be absolute bangers.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm excited if that's really what's going to happen, guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm high on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is going to wrap up the little second of the show on to him with the new.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about two big fights that are happening this weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry if [SPEAKER_00]: this is not perfectly put together because I had to pause my recording and go take off for a couple hours and come back and record the final second here.
[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, we're going to talk about what we're actually going to talk about boxing.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about Terrence Crawford versus Canelo Alvarez.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, this will be on Netflix.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a huge thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's something that definitely needs to be talked about.
[SPEAKER_00]: We saw, you know, Jake Paul.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the all women's event on Netflix, we saw the fiasco of Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson, who is supposedly fighting Floyd May, whether and what's probably an exhibition about probably like on Netflix or some weird shit, whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see if they, if they can handle the streaming magnitude this time, there was just like so many streams last time during that Tyson Paul fight that it just fell apart.
[SPEAKER_00]: The odds on this bow, Kamello is a kind of slight favorite.
[SPEAKER_00]: If these were, if this was like MMA, you'd be like, hey, he's a pretty hefty favorite.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it looks like he's about minus 170 to 195.
[SPEAKER_00]: Terrence Crawford coming in a plus 135 to plus 160 boxing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's tight odds for boxing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a really dope fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got, [SPEAKER_00]: Terrence Crawford.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's 41.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's got 41 pro bouts.
[SPEAKER_00]: Zero loss is zero draws and he's got 31 knockouts.
[SPEAKER_00]: His last time out he had that kind of like [SPEAKER_00]: MF fight with Israel Madramal, but when he, I mean, the, the shalacking he put on air suspense, you know, incredible great wins over guys like Sean Porter, Amir Khan, Jose Benavita's junior, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: Gamboa, like, guys got really, really, really good wins.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you go switch over to look at Canelo Alvarez.
[SPEAKER_00]: Canelo, I mean, if you thought 41 fights is a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: Canelo Alvarez got 65 pro-boats, like, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: 39 workouts and he's got two losses and he's never been dropped and never really been hurt bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Last time I thought William's skull before that he had the Edgar Belonga fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Berlongo went on to just get like absolutely obliterated his last time out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Jaime Mungillo who fought well against Canelo and also ended up getting obliterated his last time out.
[SPEAKER_00]: I believe no, he got one back against Bruno Saras after he got, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: beat up pretty bad there.
[SPEAKER_00]: He himself also has a win over to Mulcharo.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Kanolos fought everybody, you know, the triple G fights.
[SPEAKER_00]: The wins against that win against Caleb plant at that time was actually like a really good win.
[SPEAKER_00]: After that, he did lose to be [SPEAKER_00]: ton of names on both of these guys records, especially canal Alvarez.
[SPEAKER_00]: This fight's gonna be contested at 168 pounds and canal has never been a big dude in this division.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's moved up to five here.
[SPEAKER_00]: The fought on 150s, like against played may what they're back on the day where he lost.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then this is like a moving up three divisions for Terrence Crawford.
[SPEAKER_00]: So like this is huge for him.
[SPEAKER_00]: watching them do their face off.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought, like, I thought Bud Crawford would like end at being like, kind of, maybe not significantly smaller, but like, you know, I didn't think it would look something like Heli, it's a poor universe's Charles Oliver or something like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought, you know, I just felt like Canelo would be like the bigger guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't look that much bigger than Terence Crawford.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's probably like the bulkier guy, but like, I'm not sure who's going to hit harder on Saturday because Bud Crawford's, you know, the Duke can also crack and obviously can.
[SPEAKER_00]: Both of these guys are crafty punchers.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not so much canelo anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just doesn't have the volume that he used to have, but he's still got the power.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's still hurtin' dudes and late finishes of guys like Halo Plant.
[SPEAKER_00]: Terrence Crawford is just such a technician with really, really good footwork.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think in a fight like canelo versus Bud, [SPEAKER_00]: Like, Bivol was bigger than Canelo, but he didn't like hang all over him and be big, you know, like I'll Tyson Fury defeated Wilder and their second fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: How he kind of just like went out there was the big guy, like mugged him, hung all over him, fucking hit him on the brakes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like Terrence Crawford can do that stuff and so can Canelo and like I don't think Canelo be able to really bully Crawford around in those like tie-ups and stuff like that on the brakes.
[SPEAKER_00]: kind of curious to see if, you know, but just like sticks a jab on him and uses better footwork and can kind of just like rack up the numbers and I kind of have a feeling that can no Alva is like, this is actually like a, [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to say it's a lose-lose fight for Canelo, but in a way kind of almost is just because Crawford's moving up like three divisions, and he's still the favorite here, but Canelo has been like, the oddgen dudes.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's been dodging David Benavita's, you know, he said he wanted the rematch of BVOL, but like that was always there, and like that didn't happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he definitely wasn't trying to pick a fight with guys up there like better [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think it's one of the, it's the escalator thing where one guy's going up, one guy's going down like this is like Terrence Crawford and he's not young either, but can Ella Alvarez is like.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's 34, let me find out the exact age of so he's 35, but like it's like a max all the way 35 just in boxing.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's been around for a while, taking a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what's interesting about Terrence is he's actually the older guy, but I still think he's a little bit younger, just like in boxing, even though he's got over 40 pro bounce himself.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Canelo is going to try to bully Crawford in a fight like this like maybe try to hang on him ripshots to the body really try to be heavy and then like poured on late and like really try to punish the body against Crawford.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just think Crawford's like footwork angles, his proper placement, his ability to, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: just slide out of this and slide back in distance land what he needs to land land a two or three points combination cut the angle get out of the way of a shot from canal but that also puts him in the shot puts him in the place you know where his feet need to be to land another shot in return I just think he's going to be able to [SPEAKER_00]: I'll volume Canelo.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be able to land more.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be able to stay safe with his defensive footwear.
[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about defensive footwear earlier.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Canelo has gotten incredible footwear.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got still good hand speed.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's still got good power.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a fucking hell of a chin.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Terrence is just like more hungry.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like Canelo is like this is like a [SPEAKER_00]: Canelo is at the stage of his career, where it's like, you guys have ever been to like a arcade or whatever one of those types of places and event where they have the big fucking plexiglass thing with the fans and has all the dollar bills.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, canelo is just trying to grab as much money as you can right now, and like, [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like for Canelo this is like a money grab fight and I think for Crawford this is like he's looking at this like a like a see fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the money of course frickin matters, but for but I think he's he's looking to get a win here and I think Canelo's looking to get paid doesn't mean he's not going to show up and try he's fucking can all offer as of course going to go on there and fight his ass off, but I just I'm going to lean Crawforder he's the older guy, but I'm not really looking at the age.
[SPEAKER_00]: one dude's kind of cherry-picking fights and I'm not calling this a cherry-picked fight, you know, one dude's looking to get paid and one dude's looking to really cement his legacy and canals like his he's already been cemented and so his Crawfers but like what the win here that that does a lot for Terence Crawford.
[SPEAKER_00]: Give me Crawford to he's not going to drop Canelo.
[SPEAKER_00]: He may have a moment where, you know, he buzzes him with something, you know, that's surprising.
[SPEAKER_00]: But give me Crawford to be able to avoid the clench and use the good footwork to just avoid all the body punishment from Canelo.
[SPEAKER_00]: Canelo sets up a lot of his strikes with body work, you know, who ripped to the body and come back over top, you'll throw the lead hand like twice in a row.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I just think he's going to be able to, you know, fire off with Canelo's jab, you know, pull, [SPEAKER_00]: pull the jab and be able to fire his own jab back and then maybe, you know, firing one, two is off kind of those jabs and just doing the more numbers, having the better footwork staying on the outside and then, you know, just stay in safe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Give me Crawford when it's decision.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's gonna happen is Crawford's getting everyone's gonna be online and be like, Crawford got fuck here.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way can a low one, seven rounds to five, like it's gonna be some shotby boxing bullshit.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a tip of a reman.
[SPEAKER_00]: move it on we have the u.f.c.
[SPEAKER_00]: note check going on um Rao Ross as junior was supposed to be taken on Rob find in the comment event I don't this Rao Ross as junior stuff needs to he's good but like [SPEAKER_00]: Gallure Rodriguez is also Mexican, so is Brandon Moreno, so is Henry, so I know Henry is, you know, he's American, but, you know, Mexican, and just I'm just throwing names out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Where's Alexa, Grosso?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not as chin promise.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, we can do better.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have to see them, so that that fight fell apart.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rob parts, Rob, Rob, Rob part.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rob fun is fighting.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've been more keen as, um, [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about the main event.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about Diego Lopez taking on Jean Sova.
[SPEAKER_00]: This card is OK up and down, but not a banger, but the main event is like chef's kiss, fucking top-tier shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me give you the odds on that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am a professional.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do have them loaded up.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a professional.
[SPEAKER_00]: Gene's over the minus $2.95 up to minus $3.05, favorite Dagle Lopez is coming back at about plus $2.25, see him at plus $2.35 is a kind of hefty underdog.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a real interesting fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dagle Lopez is Brazilian, but even trains and fights out of Mexico, I guess that's why this is happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: As the main event, and Dagle Lopez has some hype now, knees and don't come off the title fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: dig a little pisses last time out April 12 to 2025 he took on Alexander Vulcanovsky and just won a cool we were lost sorry lost lost a very clear decision we had like one moment where he heard Volk with a combo looked good against Brian Ortega but you know what the way that that win is aging not great before that he had that [SPEAKER_00]: Crazy short notice fight with Danny Gay where he had to like win twice.
[SPEAKER_00]: Danny Gay is like getting a massage.
[SPEAKER_00]: He took the fight on like four hours notice.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was at UFC 303 That was really fucking cool Honestly like shout out to both of those dudes, especially Danny Gay just like hopping off the couch and he like looked good And then like had giga Lopez like in trouble and tired and the third round of that fight interesting Not that city yourself with that really dope upper cut like crushed cracking the pocket [SPEAKER_00]: They really nice knock out a pass 17.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean Armbar, Gavin Tucker, you know, and he did lose as you have said, Dave, he lost as you have see debut on short notice against mobs or evilev.
[SPEAKER_00]: Gene Silva.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is my pick.
[SPEAKER_00]: For the Sharedog 2024.
[SPEAKER_00]: fantasy anime which we're going to be recording and click next week.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have to that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So keep yours out for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: This dude fought in the contender series against Kevin Vallejo's, and that's a good one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Second fight any knocked out Western Wilson, and that's what's gonna happen when you fight Western Wilson.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, the way that he knocked out Charles Jordan with that framing angle cut boom up or cut, like after defending the takedown, like up against the cage where he like framed cut the angle, while I'm fired up or cut and just dead it, Charles Jordan, like he sent him down to 135, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this dude has um, literally forced two people to go down because they're like, I can't handle this guy like, yeah, we're going to talk about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then he went up a way class on short notice like, literally like two weeks later, fought Drew Dobra.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, [SPEAKER_00]: He beat the shit out of Drew Dober.
[SPEAKER_00]: In ways that like not many people do, we're like he just allowed Drew Dober to like him to the pocket and you're like, wow, boom, hit him with a step elbow.
[SPEAKER_00]: You broke both of his hands against Drew Dober and like still docked, like just nailed him with a doctor stoppage.
[SPEAKER_00]: The knockout of MLC, back to sorry, I'm where he's like, let's go.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he just hit someone like a one-two fucking kills him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then his last time out, we're hit that Ninja choke against Bryce Mitchell.
[SPEAKER_00]: I, the reason why I picked Jean so well for the, I'm my fantasy thing is I think he's the best fight nerd.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason why I say that is because I do think he's the best half-lead of the group.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, kind of probably by far to like his athleticism just like reminds me of like a yellow well Romero.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, he can play the one-shot game.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the vision.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the just the comfort ability in a fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, you know, it's like he's in the matrix.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's seeing things.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just not flum-ext by like dudes like Drew Doe or like barreling into him.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's not thinking Defend Defend Defend where when Drew Doe wears like throwing three punch combos at him and blitzing him.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's thinking, [SPEAKER_00]: You know, slip attacks, slip attack.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like the average person is just thinking, woo, woo defense in those moments.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's thinking about how to set up an attack.
[SPEAKER_00]: Diego Lopez is, he's got a good cardio.
[SPEAKER_00]: He hits really fucking hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he's also just like an absolute mess on the feet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like he doesn't have good footwork.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's plotting.
[SPEAKER_00]: He follows his opponents.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just chasing both the whole time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Volk has good footwork, but he doesn't have the same ability like someone like Gene Civil, where he can like skirt on the outside plant fire.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then just like get the fuck out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then he's not nearly as dangerous of a striker as Gene Soba.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dago Lopez is a good guard and he's like, good B.
JJ, but I don't think he's going to be looking to wrestle here, maybe he will.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's big, like he's going to be taller than Jean so, but I'm not sure that he's stronger or more athletic.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Dago Lopez is like.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see why this doesn't look like the Druid Ober fight again.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's a morater, like Druid Ober, like he wants to get on the front foot, throw big combinations.
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have good defense, he doesn't have good head movement.
[SPEAKER_00]: He can be, you know, he can be wrong up in the pocket of ton.
[SPEAKER_00]: He can be made to miss and he can be made to counter and like, I mean, [SPEAKER_00]: Now, sick bag this Aryan is not as durable as Diego Lopez, but like he's a way more put together like front foot kickboxer and like he's still just got fucking killed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Diego Lopez just like isn't slick enough defensively to avoid what Jean Silva does and he's so front-footed like [SPEAKER_00]: He can't, what's he going to do sit back and try to count like that's not going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what Diego Lopez does.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I just think he's like anyone that just tries to pressure Jean sovo like he's so willing to take the center of the cage, but he's also really willing to like counter off the back foot and if he's countering off the back foot like he's got he can frame and like cut an angle and like hit an upper cut, he'll run you into elbows.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's just such a violent finisher like and he himself, I was like, I mean, you know, we just ninja took Bryce Mitchell, like he can hurt you for she to shoot a bad shot and then you know, maybe if he hurts Diego Lopez and he jumps on top of him, Diego can hit like a sub off of his back, like he was very active off his back against mobs are but.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just like very defensively porous, but his problem is, and I'm like, this could just look like the fucking BSD, Mauricio, who he fight all over again, because that's the same kind of the same way I saw it happening.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like, I don't think, number one BSD is like actually like a good grappler, like he likes to wrestle on these like a good topside grappler.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not like Diego Lopez's thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Diego Lopez's BJJ is like a smudge overhyped.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dagelope is just like a personality that people like, but like, I don't think he is like even, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Gene Sova is not only like a title challenger, but a dude that will probably hold the title.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just never saw that with Diego Lopez.
[SPEAKER_00]: So give me Gene Silva, I think you'll finish him in the third round.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Diego Lopez, he may land on Gene Silva, he may buzz him one time, but like the way he moves forward on the front foot, there's just no way he doesn't run himself into something.
[SPEAKER_00]: So give me Gene Silva to win by third round knockout, because he's, Diego Lopez is running into an absolute fucking wood chipper.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is the show guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you all so much for tuning in and enjoy the fights.
