Speaker 1

Unafraid Show College Football Live, and we got a lot to talk about today because a tweet went out from Brandon Walkler of Barstool and he said that they're only thirteen happy fan bases in college football.

I'm here to fact check the man now.

And also it is time for my way too early college football playoff bracket, and we are going to release that because yes, it is time for that.

And also Greg Sankie talks about what's going on in the world of college football when it comes to field storming and college court storming in basketball, that and so much more here on Unafraid Show.

Speaker 2

I'm George Reister.

Speaker 2

Let's get to it.

Speaker 1

So the tweet came out, the tweet heard around the world that there are only thirteen happy college football fan bases, and that made me think because I was like, hold up, yes, college football fans are perpetually unhappy and they are frustrated, and they, you know, will find something to complain about, find a way to be slighted everything else that Unhappy with nil, unhappy with the coach contract, they will him fire, want the defensive coordinator, fired, new offensive coordinator.

Something needs to be fixed at all time.

They want to ball it up and throw it in the trash all the time.

So he said that there are only thirteen happy fan bases in college football, and I'm not sure if he's right.

So the schools that he named were, he said, Texas, oh Ohio State, Indiana, SMU, Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona State, Ole, miss Illinois, Syracuse, Missouri, Colorado, and Vanderbilt.

And I thought about this.

I was like, that's actually a decent list.

It's not a bad list at all.

So let's break down these schools at first.

So he went in on Texas right now, Brandon Walker might be right here, but Texas fans happiness is actually being.

Speaker 2

Put on credit right now.

It's on credit.

Speaker 1

They are swiping that card because they're assuming that there's not gonna be a fall off.

Speaker 2

From quinn Ewers to arch Manning.

Speaker 1

Now you might see the quickest the fan base has gone from one hundred percent satisfied to full on paddock mode.

If arch Manning doesn't look good on the road in Columbus to start the season next year, that will be full on pay mode.

Because there's this expectation that the future is brighter than the past, that the arch manning future of the Longhorns is so much brighter and the ceiling is higher than what quinn Ewers could get them to.

Even though this was, you know, back to back semifinals in the College Football Playoff, second team up Ohio State, now Ohio State.

Their fans, hey, we're fine, everything's good.

We just won a national championship.

But they didn't get the resolution that they wanted.

In the Michigan Connor Stallion's case, not at all.

They actually lost both coordinators in one of them to Penn State in Jim Knowles, and they lost Chip Kelly to the Raiders.

And they're trying to convince themselves that Matt Patricia is an upgrade over Jim Knowles, when in reality, when new coordinators come in, it takes a year and then it's that second year, Yes, you may have improved.

Well, actually, there's no way to improve on the number one defense next year.

So if they are not a number one defense in the country, if they're you know, number twelve, number thirteen, that is not going to be an upgrade.

They're breaking in a brand new they're breaking a brand new quarterback.

They're gonna be breaking in a brand new offensive coordinator as well, even though he's been on staff in their former wide receiver coach of Brian Hartline.

But this is gonna be his first time calling plays, So how's that gonna work out?

So Ohio State, they're pretending like they're happy right now because they just won a national championship, but deep down inside, they're not as happy as they really say they are because they've just lost to Michigan four times in a row.

And the future it's bright because it's Ohio State, but it ain't quite where you need shades right now.

Speaker 2

Next team up, Indiana.

Now, Indiana football.

Speaker 1

Fans should be one hundred percent half, but you can't get one hundred percent without thinking about how your coach punted against Notre Dame from midfield down twenty to three in the fourth quarter.

That can't make you one hundred percent happy.

So in Indiana football, who got a bunch of James Madison transfers when Kurtzynghetti came over.

They are, Yes, they're recruiting at a higher level than they had, but to be able to compete against Oregon, Ohio State Penn State and Michigan for the Big ten crown is you're already behind the eight ball right there.

And last year you had the advantage of not having to play Penn State or Oregon in the regular season, and you're not gonna get that luxury in twenty twenty five.

So while Indiana fans were happy, and they're probably happy with the trajectory of the program if they believe that this seed and is going to be a regular occurrence on making it to the college football playoffs every year, no no, no, no, sorry, sorry, you still got some building to do, so their happiness may be short lived.

If you get my drift and you guys make sure that you guys like subscribe, get notifications, tell a friend, and most.

Speaker 2

Importantly, swipe up, man, swipe, swipe up.

Speaker 1

And go watch it on YouTube if you're watching it on Twitter slash x.

Right now, now, we've got to talk about SMU because this is a team that I believe, out of you know, the teams that just popped up this year, Arizona State we had, you know, Indiana, SMU feels like the one with the most staying power because they're on a recruiting hot streak.

They retain their staff, they have a friendly twenty twenty five schedule, and they got a couple of key pieces out of the portal, and honestly, there's no way to poke holes in what SMU has going on right now.

Next team up, Notre Dame.

Now, Notre Dame fans, they probably didn't love losing their defensive coordinator Al Golden and then deciding to hold firm with the quarterbacks on their roster heading into the twenty twenty five season that starts against Miami.

Of course, that's gonna make fans nervous, But my Notre Dame fans should be one hundred percent happy right now.

Yes, they lost the national championship, but they got Marcus Freeman.

They're head coach.

He looks like he wants to be their long term.

He is recruiting well, he is winning, and that NIU lost from last year blip on the radar.

So yes, their fans should be one hundred percent happy.

And Notre Dame's not used to winning championships anymore anyway, so they should be one hundred percent happy.

Hey, hope they win soon, but you know, truth is truth, all right.

Next one up, So the Oregon Ducks they have to deal with Washington fans on the internet, so it's impossible to be one hundred percent satisfied with them around because Washington fans are always here to remind the Oregon Ducks that they have not won a national championship.

And I am here to tell you, yes, Oregon fans are one hundred percent happy with Dan Landing.

They are one hundred percent happy with the trajectory of the program.

But there is no reasonable Duck fan that is one hundred percent happy you get.

There is always a hole in your heart until you win.

Speaker 2

A national championship.

Yes, there is a hole in my Oregon heart.

Speaker 1

As it's as one hundred percent happy as I am.

There's a point ero ero ero one percent that I will not be satisfied.

I will not be fulfilled with my college football experience, and no Duck fan will until you hoist that trophy.

It'll be like simply like, yes, we did it, because then what is everybody gonna say nothing?

All them stupid memes about oh oh yo?

Do you do you know what the old stands for?

Zero national championships, ten million uniform combinations, no national championships.

Well, listen, Oregon fans are sick and tired of the BS And I'm telling you so, yes, not one hundred percent happy, even though you are one hundred percent happy, if that makes sense.

All right, Next team up.

Now, this team should be one hundred percent happy, and if I were them, I would be one hundred percent happy.

And that is Arizona State because their fans are still mad about the peach ball and they're mad about bad calls in that Texas game, but they're happy with the program and they are happy with Kenny Dillingham.

And so Brandon Walker is right about that.

But overall in general, now Arizona State's not happy.

No, No, they are one hundred percent happy with Kenny Dillingham.

They are one hundred percent happy on the trajectory of the program.

But there's still a little bit nervousness and uneasiness because you're wondering if this year was an outlier or if this is the norm of what you're going to be getting year in and year out.

Next team up.

Oh, miss oh, he could not have missed more on this, because old miss fans ain't no way that they're happy.

How can you be happy when you underachieved last year?

When you were expected to make the college football playoff and you had multiple bad losses, I mean bad losses that kept you out of the college football playoff, and this has nothing to do.

Speaker 2

Well.

Speaker 1

In addition, I should say to their feelings about mission a college football playoff, they know that they messed up and that alone is going to keep them out of the one hundred percent range because all of them people that put up the money for the nil, the ROI, the return on investment was not exactly what you expected.

Just saying, next team up, Illinois.

Now, their head coach Brett Beilaman got upset with me a couple of years ago when he bashed his team in his first year at Illinois, bashed the players, and I'm like, you're the coach, don't bash him, You're the multimillion dollar guy.

Don't sit there and bash the players.

And do you know what he has turned around and done since then?

They have become a respectable program.

They have become a tough out.

They are well coached.

So good job, Brett Beilaman.

And you can stop being mad at me for telling the truth, because now I'm telling the truth about the good job that you're doing.

Just saying, but another reason that they're unhappy is because they were sixty fifth in points per.

Speaker 2

Game last year.

Speaker 1

You know, it was nice and all dandy getting the ten wins, but everybody wants to score points, and nobody likes to be on the struggle bus.

And you can't be sixty fifth and be fully happy with anything.

All right, Next one up, Syracuse, Syracuse, I gotta tell you Fran Brown.

He's given them a moment.

And it would have been nice to get a waiver for Kyle McCord to get another year of eligibility, but he ended up declaring for the NFL Draft.

But other than that, if you're Syracuse, how can you be unhappy?

You hadn't had a winning record and conference in a minute, and now you got a coach that swears on everything that he wants to stay there long term and he is a good coach.

So yes, Syracuse fans gotta be extremely happy.

Speaker 2

Now.

Speaker 1

The next one is Missouri.

Now, Missouri fans are probably at one hundred percent, especially when they look ahead and see that the season starts with not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, but six home games, and also seeing that the two teams that they beat the hell out of the well that beat the hell out of them on the road last year, both having to come to Columbia.

So yes, Missouri fans are happy because they have hope, and the hope feels bright.

They have gotten they have gotten up five star commits, They are recruiting at a higher level.

They no longer feel like that they are the permanent doorstop and doormat for the SEC.

They are planning on taking out some of the big names and putting them below them.

So yes, Missouri fans should be one hundred percent happy.

Next one, Colorado fans.

There's no way Colorado fans are one hundred percent happy.

They might be one hundred percent happy with Deon Sanders, but they're probably very nervous, And if you're nervous, can you really be one hundred percent?

They're nervous about what they're losing to the NFL Draft in Shador Sanders, Travis Hunter, Shiloh and the rest of the crew.

But they gotta feel good because they kept coach Prime and they're in the top thirty for both high school and transferred classes for the twenty twenty five season.

And nobody really saw the high school park coming, but the transfer portal.

Of course, yeah, Deon's going to be recruiting out of the transfer portal.

Last team up, Vanderbilt.

Now, as long as Diego Pavia is walking around that campus, they got a chance.

And this is probably the best thing that it's been for the Commodores in a very long time, because at no point in time, if you are a Commodores fan, could you sit there and and be happy or excited about the trajectory of your program.

You have Clark Lee there who is doing a great job.

You pair him with Diego Pavia.

You made a bowl game, and now you're sitting there like, hold up, eight and four is eight and.

Speaker 2

Four possible next year?

Dude.

Speaker 1

If Vanderbilt goes eight and four or nine to three next year, that's like winning a national championship there, and that is going to keep their hope even bigger than one hundred percent.

All right, Next thing up, and you guys can like subscribe, share, go on the YouTube channel and watch if you're watching on x as well.

If you're watching on the YouTube channel, swipe up, subscribe, leave a comment because the show is continuing to grow and it is thanks to you guys.

All right, Next thing up, This is my way too early.

Twenty twenty five twenty six College Football Playoff prediction.

Now, last year, I damn near nailed this joint.

I had Notre Dame in a championship against Oregon, but I did have Oregon and Ohio State playing in the semi final.

I just had Oregon win it and the difference, and I still do and I think most people agree with me.

Oregon and Ohio State were the best two teams in the country.

Speaker 2

Last year.

Speaker 1

Ohio State got it done in the playoff and they won, so I nailed it.

The only team that I was just completely out of left field doll was Florida State swinging a miss so summing.

But I'm coming back this year early though.

Now we will amend this as we get through spring ball, get a chance to watch the spring games, and you guys too.

I wanted to remind you I am hitting the road to go interview your favorite college football coaches.

We already oh we got four four coaches already lined up that are in the college that were in the College Football Playoff this last year, and we may be adding some more as well, so you guys be on the lookout for that exciting stuff.

Speaker 2

Coming up.

Speaker 1

All right, here's my twelve team playoff as of right now four next season in college football, number twelve, and this is my group of five representatives, the UNLV running Rebels.

They got a new head coach because Odom is gone and Dan Mullen.

He steps into a situation where you figure that they would you know, shrink back from last year as eleven win season.

But this transferred class is extremely underrated.

They got Alex Orgy coming in Anthony called Derea, and they both have potential at the quarterback position.

And if the Rebels beat UCLA at home in non conference play, then they're gonna get the momentum that they heading into a tough Mountain West slate and Boise State doesn't have Asson gent anymore.

Ain't nowhereplacing that.

So yes, UNLB will you know, be the odds on favorite to get that group of five spot number eleven, shocker considering what happened this last season.

And that's the Michigan Wolverines.

Now the Wolverines, I'm telling you they are back.

Mikey Keane is one of the more underrated quarterback transfers this year, and if the Wolverines had him last year, they literally might have flirted with ten wins, plus linebackers Artest Hassman Jay Shawn Barman deciding to come back to school.

Yo, this defense is going to be a buzz saw again Michigan is.

Yes, they're gonna lose Graham and Grant on the defensive line, but.

Speaker 2

They are stacked still.

Speaker 1

This is still going to be a for me defense and they're gonna have a legitimate shot to make the College Football Playoff Number ten SMU.

Now outside of having to play Clemson show me on SMU schedule where they have any likely losses, you can't.

So if this team ends up twelve to ero in the regular season or eleven to one in the regular season headed to the ACC Championship, now they are going to end.

When you look at their roster, they kept their coaches, kept a lot of their players, They got a returning quarterback.

This is going to be a team that is likely to be right back in the College Football Playoff twelve team playoff again.

It is number nine, a new entry into the College Football Playoff.

This is a team that everybody was screaming about at the end of the year.

Oh my god, they're the hottiest team in college football right now.

That is South Carolina and they have arguably the most exciting dual threat quarterback in the SEC in Leonora Sellers, and arguably the best edge rusher in the country Dylan Stewart.

You know, yes, you gotta argue with Colin Simmons down there at Texas and Matteo Luiangalaile up there in Eugene.

But those three are the top three, and you know, Dylan Stewart earned a potential number one, and you can fight it out with them other two dudes now.

And South Carolina has a schedule to features seven top twenty five games as of right now.

We know preseason rankings mean nothing, and if they have a winning record in those games and go nine to three this year, depending on who those losses to, they're probably going to get in, especially us knowing now that nine and three teams that they can make the playoffs, especially depending on who those losses are.

Two just as long as you know they're not too Kentucky.

You know who has a losing record that they're not losing an Arkansas and you know, and whatnot Number eight is Ohio State, George, you got to defend the champs at number eight.

Yes, lost both coordinators, breaking in a new offensive line coach, breaking in a new quarterback in Julian saying, now I had a chance to watch Julian saying him and my son played against each other in high school, and that Julian's saying to Jeremiah Smith, it might make up for a lot of the greatness of last year, but the running game.

Like as good as Ohio State's running backs may be next year, they're not gonna be as good as Judkins and Henderson were this year.

Now, the buck Eyes in twenty twenty five will not be the best team in the country, but they will be just outside that circle for sure, And a college football playoff bit is in the works.

Number seven be like George really.

Number seven, Yes Texas, and the way Texas is recruiting that this should result in double digit wins on accident.

Adding Travis Shaw from North Carolina is going to give them a presence on the d line that will more than make up for losing Jermaine Lelay and Bill Norton to graduation.

But good luck running against this team if you are anybody else, because it is going to be tough.

Sark has done a good job building this roster and whether they The reason why they were at seven is because of the arch Manning factor.

The question is how good will arch Manning be.

If he is even better, they could end up winning the SEC.

If he is not, they're going to be in a similar position as they were last year, which clearly didn't hurt them heading into the playoff number six.

The Notre Dame fight nters.

So they're fans getting into the college football playoff for a second year in a row.

Oh, they are going to be excited about Marcus Freeman.

But then after this year, that's when the pressure starts, because you make it twice, then they're like, okay, okay, good job, So when are you gonna win it?

But here is the thing.

If Steven Jelly is good, then this Notre Dame A is six is probably a lock.

And if not, Notre Dame might just make it back just giving the ball to Jeremiah Love twenty five times a game, because you know they are going to put out a competent defense.

Even with Riley Leonard, who is not the greatest passer in the whole world, they put up a top seven offense for the second year in a row.

Speaker 2

They're gonna be good.

Number five Penn State.

Speaker 1

The five seed means that Penn State will finally get that big win on the road against Ohio State.

Speaker 2

Yes, yes, I said it.

I am predicting it.

Speaker 1

And they get a bye leading in to that game, so that should help with Drew Aller and company with preparations.

This college football playoff run for Penn State may have literally changed everything for the way that James Franklin coaches.

The mentality, the philosophy, all the things that used to let things get away from him might actually save him at this point in time.

Speaker 2

Going forward.

Number four, this is a team.

Speaker 1

That I am excited about and I believe it's flying completely under the radar, and that is Iowa State who I am picking.

And remember I am picking this going under the same system, assuming that there are no changes in terms of the four teams that get the buy and this would be and this would put Iowa State inside of the four highest.

Speaker 2

Rate conference champions.

Speaker 1

Now the Cyclones get Iowa, Arizona State BYU Kansas and Kansas State in aames this year, plus they returned Rock Obecked at quarterback, both leading rushers, and added potential star in six to four possession receiver Chase Sewell from SOEL from East Carolina.

So Iowa State is getting better.

They had their first ten win season.

This is something that is building.

And when you look at what Colorado lost this last year, they didn't win the conference last year, and you know they're going to upgrade in some areas, But quarterback is definitely going to be a downgrade because Schaduur was fantastic.

Speaker 2

No Travis Hunter.

Speaker 1

You look at you know, the at Arizona State, You're like, ah, can they do it again?

Speaker 2

Now?

Speaker 1

I do believe that they will be on the verge of making the College Football playoff again.

Speaker 2

However though, however, it is going to be.

Speaker 1

Tough on Arizona State to repeat what they did last year without Cam Scattaboo because he was so intensely special.

But expect Arizona State to be back in the College Football Playoffs the year after.

Speaker 2

Number three.

Speaker 1

The Georgia Bulldogs their back Cam Newton style man and if either Gunner Stockton or Ryan Puglisi can run the offense without turning the ball over, it's gonna be ugly for everybody.

Because Georgia plays this year a different way than they did last year.

Look for a massive step forward on defense, because they finished outside the top thirty five last year in rushing and passing yards allowed and finished outside of the top twin points.

And remember, they still won the SEC.

So if they're getting better quarterback played than they did with Carson back, or at least just not turning the ball over as much, if the offensive line is playing better and the defense is better.

Speaker 2

Good lord.

Speaker 1

They won the SEC and they were down last year, but that still does not put them inside the top two.

Because shockers, sir, Clemson at number two, and I know that people like George, are you serious you got Dabo Sweeney at number two?

Yes, fam, yes, because this is what happens when everybody igs and you ag.

Speaker 2

Now.

Speaker 1

I don't love that Dabbo has failed to adapt to the portal era, but standing still while so much change is happening eventually works out in your favor.

And he's gonna have one of the most stable and developed rosters in twenty twenty five.

And that's clearly good because they'll play an extremely tough schedule this upcoming year, and they have the kind of non conference schedule that every team should aspire to have.

Really, they got both LSU and South Carolina and they'll also have a tough game against Georgia Tech.

Speaker 2

Praise Jesus.

Speaker 1

Praise Jesus because scheduling like this is what college football fans deserve.

And Clemson are they gonna go through this unscathed?

No, but they are going to have the opportunity because of their schedule to be the number two seed.

And now the question is, though, with their other tough games against Georgia Tech, Louisville and SMU, that ain't gonna be easy.

But the question is could we see a kid club Nick Heisman run.

Yes, because that's something that Trevor Lawrence never did.

And Kate Klubnek clearly took massive steps forward this year.

And this team is going to be very good.

Number one, same team I had number one last year.

Well, actually I had the number two going into the season last year and they were still the second best team in the country, the Oregon Ducks.

You have Dan Lanning building on the defense, building on the offense.

The running back room is going to be better, The wide receiver room is gonna still be fantastic, even without Ted Johnson.

The defensive line still super good.

Linebackers will be better, the secondary will be much improved.

The offensive line is going to be very good.

This Oregon team is going to compete for a national championship again.

And at quarterback, Dante Moore, he seems for some reason to be the forgotten quarterback in college football.

And it makes sense to me.

People are screaming about everybody from I mean guys who haven't even played.

They're putting Julian Saying in the top ten, They're putting all these quarterbacks in the top ten, and they're forgetting that former five star more who was at UCLA, who did some wonderful things.

Yes he had some tough moments.

Kid's mom had cancer.

When he just got the start, he probably should not have been starting, But you know what he did.

This lets you know that he's on the right path.

When he transferred to Oregon, kid is supremely talented.

Dylan Gabriel was going to be the starter.

He knew that when he went there and he said, you know what, I'm just going to grow, get better, learn, sit back and allow my maturation to happen and come out and ball out.

So watch Dante Moore not to just be a Heisman finalist, but potentially win the Heisman Trophy.

And I know that people are gonna be like, George, you're a damn Homer.

I get it.

I get it people.

I understand where you're coming from when you say that.

But I'm telling you, if you do not remember anything from this coming up this year, remember this.

Please that Dante Moore will probably be the best quarterback in college football next year.

All right, lasting up, So, Greg Burn, Alabama's athletic director, had some things to say about.

Speaker 2

Field storming and court storming.

Now.

Speaker 1

He absolutely hates it because last year, three different fan bases stormed the field at home versus Alabama football.

Each of them got fine, but Greg burn says it's not enough.

It's not enough that they got fined.

He wants more, he wants blood.

He told ESPN, I truly believe that if we said that the home team, if they storm the field or court, they're gonna lose that game right then and there.

That'll stop it.

See here's the thing.

I get it, Greg Burns.

You haven't been like you're so used to being on the mountain, not even on the mountain, but becoming the mountain.

You are the mountain at Alabama, and now that the mountain is getting blown up by Vanderbilt, a bad Oklahoma.

Speaker 2

Team last year.

It's tough.

Speaker 1

It's tough to sit there and watching you like, oh, just human.

Speaker 2

But the reality.

Speaker 1

Is is that those teams they deserve to storm the field.

Speaker 2

I do understand it's a safety issue, but.

Speaker 1

The reality is, and the idea, here's the thing, the idea that Greg Burn wants them to forfeit a game, that they just beat your ass on the fields.

Speaker 2

Hilarious.

Speaker 1

So now you want to free oh oh oh hey, hey hey they starting the court.

Speaker 2

I know we lost it, but give us the win.

Man.

Speaker 1

Come on, fam This is sore loser mentality, and I get it.

I'm a sore loser.

But no, no, sir, the coaches are just gonna take their fines.

And it is what it is.

Because SEC Commissioner Greg Sanki, he actually thinks that that's a bridge too far.

But the SEC is collecting two point six million dollars in fines.

It hasn't stopped students from celebrating on the playing surface, whether.

Speaker 2

It's basketball, football.

Speaker 1

So that's two point six million, that's what's twenty six times around there?

Speaker 2

That that's happened.

Come on, man, and.

Speaker 1

Greg Byrne is the one who actually got fines instituted in the Pac twelve after more than ten opposing teams rush to court against the University of Arizona basketball while he was the athletic director there.

So Arizona basketball is not used to losing.

Greg Burn goes to Alabama.

Alabama ain't used to losing, So that's why he don't like the court storm it because he's used to mopping people up, and then when they beat you, he was like, listen, act like you've been there before.

No, because they haven't been there before.

That's why they're acting like that, Greg Byrn.

They they're like, who knows when this will happen again.

That's more of a credit to you than it is should bother you anything else.

Speaker 2

Because here's the truth.

Speaker 1

If his teams weren't losing as favorites on the road, he probably would not have this opinion.

I do understand the safety issue, but the safety issue is not why Greg Byrn has a problem with this.

Greg Byrn has a problem with this because his team is on the bad side of it.

So guess what, Greg Burn, you gotta you gotta pull them breeches up.

Let me use a Southern term for you, pull them breeches up, Tighten up that belt, pull up your boot straps, and don't lose games you're supposed to lose.

I'm George Reisler.
