[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the 40k lower cast with me, John Barcidi and Brad Chester.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's got.

[SPEAKER_01]: What's better than one hour of coverage of all trimmarines?

[SPEAKER_01]: More hours of coverage of the all trimmarines.

[SPEAKER_01]: Twist your arm to do more all trimmarines on this one big daddy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just going to be the year of ultramarines.

[SPEAKER_01]: Spoiler alert, everybody.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't like ultramarines, see you in episode 156.

[SPEAKER_00]: Three, 20, 25 is only.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the ultramarines.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do one episode per plot armor.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not quite much a start reading you ultramarine code access.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just read the back cover of all the books.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's really all it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there are everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So today, we're going to pick up where we left off, running all the way through Gilliman Getting His Throat Slip.

[SPEAKER_01]: Spoiler alert.

[SPEAKER_01]: As always, the 40K lower cast, the weekly show, focus on the lower the Warhammer 40K universe, releasing every Monday at 7 p.m.

[SPEAKER_01]: Eastern time.

[SPEAKER_01]: For those of you who've been doing it and following and commenting on the cast, massive thank you our algorithms just rocking and rolling.

[SPEAKER_01]: For those of you haven't, please do.

[SPEAKER_01]: It helps us and it's a nice thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And also, I read your comments and I enjoy them.

[SPEAKER_01]: It gives me a lot of joy to have this many thousands of people say nice things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And some of you didn't, and I've read those too.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm only gonna comment in the good ones.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you like the cast, I want to hear more of Brad and I, you click on the link to our YouTube page of 40K lower cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you're finding the old versions of the show converted imagery and subtitles along with our live Q&A sessions, which is coming out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes, we could go from this cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, move point there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And, like, say, and our other show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, we're really- Yeah, and our other shows.

[SPEAKER_01]: And our two other shows with a history of 40K, which is also available on Spotify, which is a deep dive into the history of the tabletop version of Warhammer 40K.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't given the lesson, please do it as decently funny at times.

[SPEAKER_01]: And also, when we get the seventh edition, going to be quite tragic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like Greek tragedy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's fantastic.

[SPEAKER_00]: A Greek tragedy.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, honestly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks go down.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a Greek tragedy, because Greek tragedies are at least good stories.

[SPEAKER_01]: The seventh edition is just like, some edition is actually a good story.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sevenest editions, terrible terrible.

[SPEAKER_01]: The seventh edition would get like the new War of the World's movie level Rotten Tomatoes score.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's separate the dishes, so on a zoom cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, it's bad.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, in the show notes, we also have a link to our Patreon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Huge, thank you to everyone who's contributed already for just $4.99 a month.

[SPEAKER_01]: You get the show added free, and that's what helps us expand out.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing a lot more stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have events coming up, we take all the money from Patreon and invest it back into the show candidly.

[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're not in the U.S., and you're saying, well, how much is it for me?

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say you're on Lake Titicaca, down in Bolivia.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dennis, 34.33 Bolivian, Bolivanos.

[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.

[SPEAKER_01]: Their currency is the Bolivian.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bolivian, Titicaca.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to start.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's going to really push us up there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Lake Titi Kaka is the highest navigable lake in the world, and home to 530 different aquatic species, or if you're in Bolivia and you're saying, I don't like water, which is probably a mistake because Bolivia is largely jungle, but some of it is not.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have the Salar de Uyuni.

[SPEAKER_01]: which is the largest salt flat on earth, which is cool because that is the opposite of water.

[SPEAKER_01]: I, you guys can't see if I brought his shaking his head at me right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am known for saying the nonsense thing, you like really embraced it now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, going all off.

[SPEAKER_01]: You say nonsense things.

[SPEAKER_01]: My things aren't nonsense.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is informative.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I was also corrected.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was Carmen San Diego.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not Santiago.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just assumed it was Latin, but apparently it was still Latin.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's still Spanish, but it's just less name Spanish and more.

[SPEAKER_01]: Carmen San Diego, just kind of useless.

[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, lastly, we do our Discord as always at time of release.

[SPEAKER_01]: We may be probably going to be over 10,000, but we might not be.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if we aren't, jump in and join, get us there.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'd appreciate it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if you miss it, still cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be to 10,000 person Discord.

[SPEAKER_01]: We can come in and really learn to [SPEAKER_01]: tons of stuff about Warhammer.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great community.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love jumping in there because people are always asking fun questions about lore.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of good book recommendations, but what I really like candidly is for players who are newer to this, it's one of the best advice spots I've seen.

[SPEAKER_01]: people are in there giving you advice on how to play the game, how to collect, how to paint all that stuff, and never with any of the tragic, why don't you know this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is it because you're stupid?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually a wonderful place.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, back to the Imperial Smurfs.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, the green blue.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, light blue.

[SPEAKER_01]: Great light blue.

[SPEAKER_01]: So where did we leave off?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we finished our last cast with the Ultramarines kind of at their highest point.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are the largest legion in the Imperium by a wide margin.

[SPEAKER_01]: They've got their primarque who's the greatest of all the primarques, which is correct.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not stupid Vulcan.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that you didn't even put in your opinion just like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a fact that they had the greatest primarque.

[SPEAKER_01]: They also just killed off the Oceirian cybirds.

[SPEAKER_01]: Those no longer exist, and they saved the galaxy as well as redeeming their greatest failure in that one action.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they're about to take some else because life is about to get a lot more complicated.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like you're saying they lost a couple of games by one point.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to take some holy crapples.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's worse ones like what happened to Vulcan.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she was wondering what happened of the raven guard when they went back with re-barbers shop quartet.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that's not good.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's fair enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, the a terrible a quartet, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because they're all like sneaky, so it'd be a whisper, anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the biggest problem that the Ultra is about to have is that the emperor and the less perfect primarks, that's kind of the thing, which is not fair.

[SPEAKER_00]: You case, I wish you could see right now how much I'm rolling my eyes of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: What continues, sir?

[SPEAKER_00]: What continues?

[SPEAKER_00]: because not all primarks, well, this isn't there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because all primarks are created.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because all primarks are less perfect and guilliman, much like how the U.S.

[SPEAKER_01]: is built on a phrase, the more perfect union, which is not an actual phrase, in literal prose, makes no sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, screw it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the U.S.

[SPEAKER_01]: so some primarks are less perfect than others.

[SPEAKER_01]: Namely, Lord Gar, he was the least perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: nightly whiplash you made it with his curly his mustache doing evil deeds, tying women to train tracks.

[SPEAKER_01]: All I'm saying is I think, Lorgar with the least perfect and killing with the most person.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just the worst.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we can argue about the most perfect, however, Lorgar is always the least perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: He never.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's 21st out of 20.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Although I do think and I think he might appear in modern 40 Klor still more than [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so, Kurt, we covered this before, but it's important again now.

[SPEAKER_01]: The emperor was fiercely anti-religious.

[SPEAKER_01]: He wanted a society that only believes in science and facts, despite...

Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Two things.

[SPEAKER_00]: One.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't seen it, go watch the last church on YouTube, it's fan-made, it's fantastic, it's the Emperor, and actually the last church on Terra.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second, he is fiercely anti-religious, even though he uses magic, which is coming from the place where God's exists.

[SPEAKER_00]: But continue.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's also talk to God's.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and also his best friends are magicians in Malkador and whatever the woman was if he made guard the portal he would talk to chaos in, and by the way, I see magicians not like pen and teller, like real magicians, not that I want a little pen and teller they're fantastic, yeah, they're fantastic.

[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, one of his primarksons not only believed in gods, but was damn sure the emperor was one of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he wanted to tell everyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone everywhere.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he was serious about doing it.

[SPEAKER_01]: after conquering a world for the Imperium, Laura Garra and his wordbearers would spend years educating the population on the definitive of the emperor.

[SPEAKER_01]: They would build effigies all around the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's say, they brought, they did world-spanning cathedrals for the emperor.

[SPEAKER_00]: They made it hue, they made basically planet cathedrals in honor of his father, the god emperor.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the emperor was not super excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the emperor was super upset about this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the irony by the way of this is obviously painful when you understand what modern 40K is like, but the emperor was mad at Laura for two main reasons.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know which these are the bigger ones.

[SPEAKER_01]: First, Lord Garb was breaking the Imperial Truth, which was less a statement than the Imperial Story.

[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't really a truth, because it was a colossal lie, but it was the official Imperial Story, so you're supposed to do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Say number two is a little bit bigger for the emperor.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I was taken too much time.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the bigger one.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's supposed to be conquering more worlds.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're really putting this behind schedule.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can worship kind of whatever you want, but chop chop.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're really doing a bad job.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the emperor is totally correct on this, by the way, because in the period of time that Lorgar is conquering a planet and then building refugees doing all this stuff, the ultra marines are pacifying worlds through peace.

[SPEAKER_01]: getting them fully set up on logistics, manufacturing, actually improving their governments and then bogging out, leading behind a perfect world.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, here's the thing, John, let's go into the story of what happens, because what does the Emperor do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Does he have a sit down with Lordgar and calmly and rationally?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Spain, what he wants to be fair, he did a couple times, each time, I mean, I'm going to be honest.

[SPEAKER_01]: As you all know, my brain gets a little goofy sometimes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I firmly believe what happens next, the writer's at GW stole from the life of Brian.

[SPEAKER_01]: because the emperor sits in front of Lordgar and says, I'm not a God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Lordgar says, well, I say you are, and I should know, I've followed a few.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the emperor again says, I'm not a God.

[SPEAKER_01]: and Lorgar goes only a true god would deny his divinity.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is in the books, guys.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_01]: They stole this and I really wish they could have had something where Lorgar had like a sandal and one statue and a gourd on the other to really just kind of bring the whole thing around and yeah, I've seen that movie enough times that I was able to write all of that from memory.

[SPEAKER_01]: If they get the Gord, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, no, follow the Gord, the Gord of Truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's see this a lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: But more importantly, eventually the Emperor did get pissed.

[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the worlds that the word bear is brought into compliance is a world called CUR.

[SPEAKER_01]: which I'm probably pronouncing wrong KHUR.

[SPEAKER_01]: I learned that last week, his name is not CISER S.

Apparently, it says R.

I told you that's so many times.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but CISER S is a much easier thing to remember.

[SPEAKER_01]: So forever, he's going to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do love the fact that during the cast and before and after and I was like, this is what his name is and you're like, I don't care.

[SPEAKER_01]: Scissors.

[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, could be her, who knows?

[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, her is unique because not only did it come into compliance with the word barriers, but the population actually really embraced it.

[SPEAKER_01]: They themselves worked tirelessly to build these great demonstrations of faith to the Emperor.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, you were instant zealots.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, really.

[SPEAKER_01]: And their capital city, which is a terrible name, Monarchia.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just come on, put some effort in.

[SPEAKER_01]: They also, he's not a Monarch.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a side note.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a, it's, it's, he's an emperor.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is technically our lords of terror.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: Monarchia is called the perfect city by the word bearers.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were really proud of Monarchia.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the emperor makes his example of Monarchia, calling upon the ultramarines to attack the planet.

[SPEAKER_01]: And in doing so, the planet curve was allowed to send out one single distress call, which the word bearers all heard and apparently every word bearer showed up for this.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a weird thing, because the legion that's pointing 80,000, maybe, and they all showed up [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I mean, this is such a bad idea, even for the Emperor, by the way, because he took the guy that is worshiping like my God and went, I'm going to put your nose in it as I destroy your perfect city.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just to show you, bad, no, bad, get off the couch.

[SPEAKER_01]: bunch of custodes, and a hoard of all chim rings, they get down and they discover the burning wreckage of monarchy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like nothing is left.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the ultramarines, because I, you know, we know how much I love my boys and blue flattened it, but they spared all the citizenry.

[SPEAKER_01]: They evacuated the entire citizenry before they launched their attack and the only people who died on monarchy were the ones who refused to leave.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because again, the old termarines are lawful good on like Vulcan, who would have burned the place of the ground bread.

[SPEAKER_00]: The, now here's where it gets crazy because the Emperor doesn't just do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: He commands the entirety of the wordbears to come down and effectively have a marshmallow roast over top of the burnt perfect sea, which doesn't sit super well.

[SPEAKER_01]: with Lord God or the word, I think you're missing the best part.

[SPEAKER_01]: The best part is that he commands them all to kneel.

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't, so then he psychically makes them all kneel.

[SPEAKER_01]: So in other words, I did say he rubbed their nose.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what he does is he says, I'm not a God, and you will stop worshiping me as one, or I will use my God powers to make you feel in front of me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't keep calling me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Stop calling me a god or I'll use my god powers against you.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's useless anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this has two big effects in the word bears.

[SPEAKER_01]: First and the bigger one, they started looking for a new god to worship because they weren't done with the god worshiping thing, but they were like, this one's a dick.

[SPEAKER_00]: They started shopping now.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the, they were definitely unlinked in looking for their new god.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was going tender, but yeah, they got their profile up there.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're swiping left on Z.

She's like, God, this is a good one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nurgle, err, that might be a swipe right.

[SPEAKER_01]: But second and the more important for our cast, they decide the ultramarines are their number one enemy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Forever.

[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't care that it was commanded by the emperor or the ultramarine spared the citizenry.

[SPEAKER_01]: The ultramarines were now quintessential example of the betrayal of their god and they're gonna make them pay for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, they get that chance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now we're gonna get on the call.

[SPEAKER_01]: On the list of not going to join chaos in a million years, Gilliman's were in the top two.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will argue that the line that Dark Angels are firmly number one, ironically, but the line, even though they lost half, but don't worry.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the line was, the thing is of the, it's probably of the primarx.

[SPEAKER_01]: The line is number one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the reason that to those people from the Dark Angels went there?

[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of your favorites, you might as well roll that out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because Luther sucks, and that's the problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that, because I know what thinks I'm as important as the 12 foot God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't people take me more seriously when?

[SPEAKER_01]: Shut up Luther.

[SPEAKER_01]: Look, but go through the primarque, the truth, it's like sanguinius is loyal, but he does have a cursed gene seed.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there is that piece there.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're basically blade.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we're calling what blade knows really work, it's the they're all blade using the powers of evil to fight evil.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lehman is a lunatic.

[SPEAKER_00]: I need to get an army of blades.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It would make sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Lehman and his Legion are loonies.

[SPEAKER_01]: Volcano Salomoners wouldn't join chaos, but I could see them turn against the Emperor.

[SPEAKER_01]: if they felt he was bad enough, white scars and raven guard iron hands, they fallen to kind of some of some of categories of, is not that they're not loyal to the emperor, but I think they're not as loyal to the emperor as like the lion is.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who's just, yeah, that's 100%.

[SPEAKER_00]: I agree on that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's my number one.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think those are the, those are the legions that they actually targeted and tried to convince.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Ultraman's like, nope.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's no sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Bob.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, Bobby G.

Like, just goes, hey, this doesn't make sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got to spread up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got to make sell sheet right here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it says that evil doesn't get a payout in the end.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a parallel fist to the other interesting one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think.

[SPEAKER_01]: And no, yeah, Dorne was not a true believer.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Dorne actually, Dorne's a, yeah, Dorne actually believes in the imperial, the imperial truth more than he believes in.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's actually, I'd probably move the Ultramarines on the number three thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think one and two are going to be the lion and Dorne.

[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, but the racist matter is is Horus becomes the warmaster and the entirety of the imperial military.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he realizing that Gilman is not coming on his team, tells Gilman, hey, there's this incoming orc force that's coming in on the upper right region of the Ultramar region.

[SPEAKER_01]: and the orc forces massive, and if they don't do an immediate assault here, it could spread and damage the ultramar sub-sector for centuries.

[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, Horace was so concerned about the size of this orc fleet that he was worried that Gillen wouldn't have enough, so he helps him out by having the wordbearers go along to assist him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Helped him out so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, man, the word bears are going to be great.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be great.

[SPEAKER_01]: No issues.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hold on.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's our trap.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they target the planet called, which is in the system called Verita, whatever, for idea, for their assault.

[SPEAKER_01]: 20 of the Ultramate's 22 legions deploy at cough.

[SPEAKER_01]: And for the record, this battle is epic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's covered in a book called No No Fear by Dan Aventett, who's one of the better writers for GW.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're looking for random books, cabinets pretty solid.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's pretty reliable.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we're about to take 416 pages of good writing and compress it down to maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to miss some of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like something we would do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but to be fair, I like doing that because I'm going to cover it enough that you find it interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you want more details.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can go read the book.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you have to sit there and say, oh, yeah, John said that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, Brad said that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, John said that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just like it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to ruin the books.

[SPEAKER_01]: So.

[SPEAKER_01]: The issue for the Ultraman's at call is that they only thought the word barriers were stupid and useless, they didn't realize they were traders.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that actually really works against them here, because when they get there, the actions of the word bears go unnoticed, because they just weren't watching them.

[SPEAKER_01]: My opinion, the alterings were like, hey, we know we're gonna do all the work here.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you guys are gonna be over there, doing your thing, as long as you're not gonna be our way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, stop trying to trip me up with your full assory, you say?

[SPEAKER_00]: I made my own way.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ed, this did come back to bite them a pretty hard because the entire time they're setting up for the trap.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because there are no works.

[SPEAKER_01]: The word bears to their credit.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is like maybe the most focused and effective they've been, although they do screw it up in the end as always.

[SPEAKER_01]: The plan for the word bears on call was twofold.

[SPEAKER_01]: First, they were going to surprise us salt on the ultramarion to just wreck their forces, hit them suddenly without warning when they're unprotected and unprepared.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I will point out, the ultramarines may be unprotected.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are never unprepared, ever.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right, right, we're astrophysic.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the bigger thing is what the word bears are known for is their cultists, getting cults converting people over and they do this while the planet wide were converting people over.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's exactly the whole goal here.

[SPEAKER_01]: is to use these cults to begin this massive, but they were sacrificing them all.

[SPEAKER_01]: And other arching rituals to create a massive warp store in the region that would then spread to the sector, trapping the ultramarines over there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the first thing the word bears do is I'm the fringe of the system.

[SPEAKER_01]: They do some kind of cool stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: They actually take over an imperial ship.

[SPEAKER_01]: slaughter the entire crew and replace them all with cultists and this thing becomes a suicide bomb that they're going to drive right into the Ultramarine fleet because it's going to flip it into a ritual that actually breaks reality and it allows Non-reality the immatarium to break in bigger thing of note here is they start the switch will off and [SPEAKER_00]: The Ultra Reigns are not prepared for this because the counts of Nikkei had just happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the Ultra Reigns have no psychors, or actually, let's put it away.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have psychors.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have no official psychors.

[SPEAKER_01]: Psychors.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a challenge.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's well written.

[SPEAKER_01]: The book is all these, secondly, entuned space marines because they did have a bunch of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Start having headaches and like discomfort, but they don't know it's from Psychopyrus because they're not trained in them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it just goes like they assume I was anyone else had heard no because, you know, space marines get migraines.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you go, Brad.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the loan that would actually be hilarious.

[SPEAKER_01]: You get up covered with space marines.

[SPEAKER_01]: You still have GI issues and migraines.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everything, but both my heart still.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you're a lot bigger and you have to eat more food and but you're still silly.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's just like every problem I still have, it's just all my new artists.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just have to eat more rice and chicken.

[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome, they're just great.

[SPEAKER_01]: The word bear is then upload a scrap code, into the call for the orable defense network.

[SPEAKER_01]: And a scrap code for the record is a chaos and fused machine spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: So in modern 40K, scrap codes are well known, like the forces of the Imperium are well versed [SPEAKER_00]: Well, in the 30 K they weren't this time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, this is still when the emperor was actively making sure that no one knew about kids.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was still working on his project, which was to try to circumvent chaos, but he wasn't letting anybody know because he thought it would help.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the last little piece that occurs here is arabic eras.

[SPEAKER_01]: And arabic is on a French planet.

[SPEAKER_01]: It begins as massive ritual there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, what I said, Lordgar was evil, comically, Arabus is so much more.

[SPEAKER_01]: He did this in order to be different.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, Arabus is more hateable than Lordgar, but Arabus is at least an interesting character.

[SPEAKER_01]: My issue with Lordgar is, as a character, it goes, Arabus isn't whiny.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the issue with Lordgar.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just plotting a previous.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the, Arabus is a true archivalent.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lorgar is, I think, meant to be more like Loki in the Marvel movies, where he's evil, but it's because he's selfish, you know, it's like almost comically stuff though.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Arabus gets his doing Kaiser Zose levels of stuff all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which by the way, how is that your favorite movie?

[SPEAKER_00]: Visual suspects, love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't watch it twice.

[SPEAKER_00]: Watched it so many times.

[SPEAKER_00]: That and Blade Runner.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you all in this relationship with us?

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have, are you at the guy I'm a mentor?

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you just forget the endie and go, oh, I see.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's more enjoyable when you watch it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cause you know all the stuff in the little things that he's lying about.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, okay, I'll get blasted for that in the Discord watch.

[SPEAKER_01]: People don't like when I badmouth movies and TV shows.

[SPEAKER_01]: So time comes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a salt time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wordbearers go.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a massive success out the gate.

[SPEAKER_01]: The ultra-means couldn't even conceive of them being attacked.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when the first attacks are happening, they actually assume there's an unknown force coming after them.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they actually retreat back toward the wordbearers calling them for support at which point [SPEAKER_01]: right.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just they take huge loss.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilman even assumed it was an active friendly fire and he radios Lorgar and says, Hey, this friendly fire and Lorgar just didn't respond.

[SPEAKER_01]: So then Gilman, oh, Lorgar is a dick and a size to then flip it around and he then calls Lorgar.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a this is why I like.

[SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is so funny because he's like, all of this stuff has happened and oh my God, I'm being attacked by my brother.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is ridiculous.

[SPEAKER_00]: What should I do?

[SPEAKER_00]: And then he goes before we do anything, I'm going to make a quick phone call, which is so he's got Lord Gauron's speed dire and calls him up to tell him that he's going to kill him personally and his entire legion to the man.

[SPEAKER_01]: to which Lorgar takes that, it's all excited, and does a full bad guy monologue.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hold thing, which is like, Gilliman has no idea what's happening in the galaxy, and Lorgar sits there, puts him on speakers so he can talk with his hands.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a long one, and explains to him how Horus has turned to Trader, what they do in Nistfun 3, what they do in Nistfun 5, basically gives Gilliman a Horus's entire battle plan.

[SPEAKER_01]: I assume while a bunch of like sergeants and captains or bears were looking and I'm going like hey man hang up the entire time Hang up the phone shut up There's people around trying to disconnect the phone like you're in so much trouble [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, Lordgar, after this, then leaves.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because his idea is, I've won this battle.

[SPEAKER_01]: He does the doctor evil.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the sharks with lasers will get them and just grabs a chunk of his legion.

[SPEAKER_00]: None of my room, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he turns to core ferrant and says, you're in charge.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is Lordgar's adoptive father who was also a space marine without the implants.

[SPEAKER_00]: And also abuse of all those guys.

[SPEAKER_01]: And none of them have any value, not a single one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're all died in the heresy, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is there anyone who was up converted, who didn't die during the heresy?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they all turned to chaos.

[SPEAKER_01]: So whatever they put in that drug to convert them over, was not good.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I'm saying.

[SPEAKER_01]: Problem four word bears is, Lord our leaves, core fairons and charge, and core fairon thinks he can out tactic, Gilliman.

[SPEAKER_01]: He gave you a quick spoiler alert.

[SPEAKER_00]: It did not go well for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so half the old trimmering forces are killed or destroyed.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the other half, though, are super pissed off.

[SPEAKER_01]: They write themselves re-organizing those entities like little furious counter assaults.

[SPEAKER_00]: and set this up, man.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so much better because of the fact that corfarity is also basically doing the bad guy monologue of how they're not going to be able to get together because we have disrupted their communication.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're confused.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't understand what's going on and they clear all of them up immediately.

[SPEAKER_01]: who were needed to attack right back because the whole thing of the core fairly like we jam channel one perfectly in all the Ottomans were like, hey, channel two works great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's turn, hey, everyone go to channel two.

[SPEAKER_01]: It also in channel two's clearest day and the ultimate counter attack begins.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the word bears get a full taste of the ultramarine vengeance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the bits that happen here are quite funny, the ultramarines are grossly outnumbered, but just so tactfully superior to the word bears that they just aren't wrecking them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Around the same time, reinforcements from McCreg come in as they're attacking the word bears from the back.

[SPEAKER_01]: But my favorite one is what Gilliman does.

[SPEAKER_00]: So there's that scene in the movie there's no way we're not talking about the fact that he at first off gets an anise montage while he's slipping out his boots and mighty ask it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's because he goes buckwheat.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do this.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you know that scene in a movie where someone hits someone who's sitting down and that person stands up and like seven feet tall [SPEAKER_01]: That's what happens here with Gilliman.

[SPEAKER_01]: So in the initial assault, the wordbearers plan, remember they took that ship and they broke within material in the immaterial.

[SPEAKER_01]: They did that right next to Gilliman's flagship.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this then fills the bridge with demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: At which point, I can't bear how the bridge breaks apart, but the bridge blows up and Gilliman and the wordbearers and other alterments get sucked into space.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman is not wearing a helmet.

[SPEAKER_01]: That does not slow him down.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is what Brad's talking like, there is a solid 80s action song playing.

[SPEAKER_01]: As and the scene is one of the ultramarines is in space firing his bolt right word bears and a large hand comes on his shoulder and moves him out of the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he looks up as a helmetless Gilliman in zero gravity is running along this ship, [SPEAKER_01]: grabbing word bears with his bare hands and like pulling their limbs off.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then moving onto the next one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he just does this for a while.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, one person he punches through their armor and pulls his spine out through his stomach.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dan Abnets a good writer and he's very enjoyable writer.

[SPEAKER_01]: At which point, Gilliman walks back into one of the ships and takes command with his little walk-up out of hand-to-hand violence concluded.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of cruises in in terms of all the, again, channel 2s and says this is what we're doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: The whole fight, blah, blah, blah.

[SPEAKER_01]: They attack one of the orbital platforms to turn them back on the word bearer ships.

[SPEAKER_01]: Two things occur here.

[SPEAKER_01]: The first one, which is funny, is core Ferran gets in a fist fight with Gilliman.

[SPEAKER_01]: And uses his work power as to actually drop Gilliman to the ground, jumps at him with his knife, and doesn't kill him, because he's going to turn Gilliman to chaos by stabbing him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to...

[SPEAKER_00]: Poison Blade?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's calling a poison blade with it's one of the enantimos, so it's the same thing that was used on Horace, except Gilliman's not Horace.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Gilliman was just fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some little, he was just fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: His body easily resists the poison, and then he temple of dooms, coerferon, by punching into his chest and pulling out one of his hearts.

[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't say cauliflower, though, which is too bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, time for love, Dr.

Jones.

[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, though, Corferon does live.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the actions of Gilliman, or Blethanceras, were only a partial victory.

[SPEAKER_01]: The wordbearers realized they were going to lose the arrays.

[SPEAKER_01]: The whole plan with the arrays for the wordbearers was to actually turn the sun and the system supernova.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were firing lasers at a sun.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a degree in physics.

[SPEAKER_01]: If someone in our discord does, please explain to me if I could shoot a son with laser beams and make it blow up, I don't know, but that was the attempt here.

[SPEAKER_01]: What it does though is they stop it from blowing up the sun, but it does still destroy the outer layer, which turns the sun into what the Necrontier had, where it just dumps radiation, which should yet everywhere, especially on call.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the planet of call, everyone now has to go underground, which happens oddly quick, by the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: They all go underground.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this, they go underground, but they already knew it was going to happen, so they already dug out underground.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, apparently underground just always available, whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the air ducks in movies.

[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently they're all like four feet wide and can hold the weight of a grown man, otherwise John McClick.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what happens next is, we'll cover more of this in another cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: This war breaks out underneath call, where ultramarines and wordbearers and actually demons end up fighting for the next seven years until they're later relieved, because while all this is going on, arabic and is grand ritual are being enacted and the warp storm starts to really appear.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman can see it and realize what it means.

[SPEAKER_01]: And to rather have his legion enveloped by the ruin storm, they boogie out and tell Calleth will be back.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they did come back later, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but it did suck for them for seven years.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, if you leave me somewhere and say, I'm going to be right back.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then you show up seven years later.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say thanks for coming back, but I'm also going to have a little bit of animosity.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Warriors of Callf do have a special, like I said, I'll dead now, but they had a special logo for the ones who survived and fought on Callf.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the next piece when the Ultramarine lore, we're going to do real quick because we've covered a few times.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back after a quick break.

[SPEAKER_01]: the world leaders cast we did this pretty well where angron is losing his mind lorgar commits his angron to go back to new syria lorgar tells him that we'll go to new syria to get the nails out of his skull but in reality we just to do something you want to turn him into a demon yeah and the whole thing is the ultra means then track him down and [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be fair and admit the actions the ultramarines here, both against the word bears and world leaders, were of minimal importance.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it happens on New Syria.

[SPEAKER_01]: The ultramarines are kind of a backup character, except for the Gilliman part fighting anger on.

[SPEAKER_01]: The whole, but what I'm saying is usually, when the ultramarines are involved with something in the earlier parts of the lore, they're tend to be pretty involved stories about all this stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's usually about things like this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's, oh yeah, Gilliman, Nangran are fighting, but also there's always ultramarines over there doing something.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, after the events on Newsyria, things get kind of worse for the ultramarines.

[SPEAKER_01]: The heresy is full bloom, the warp is a mess and they can't really travel anywhere.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the warp travel cuts off most of the galaxy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gillian ritual that's given the props on this the ritual work perfectly and yeah completely cuts them off and yeah they are trapped over in this section because they weren't trapped on cough but the entirety of the warp all around the galaxy becomes such a mess yeah and they basically have a big bubble around the entire sector was jacked where they were.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so Gilliman and his legion, they find themselves trapped, but there was a world there called Sotha.

[SPEAKER_01]: We covered this a little bit before, but just a little re-hitter.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sotha is in the ultra-mar region, and there's an old Necron device there called a pharaohs.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the pharaohs is a blackstone device with a C-Tan shard in it, and that enables Necron phasing technology.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Ultra means don't know what this is, cause at this time, the name of the Necrons were.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even the ad mech, I don't think at this point new within Necrons were.

[SPEAKER_01]: No one knew anything about this device.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was just sitting there.

[SPEAKER_01]: What they did know was that it was a beacon within the warp.

[SPEAKER_01]: It could be seen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they literally just turned the on switch.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, absolutely having no idea what was gonna happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm throw that out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they didn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go through why they hit the switch stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: They hit the switch because they're on soath up.

[SPEAKER_01]: trying to figure out how to use this thing and then add a nowhere the night lords attack and the night lords attack right at the beacon and they attack in force so the ultramarines that realize that they're being overrun they don't want the night lords to get control of this beacon that they don't know what it does but they know the night lords probably shouldn't be around shouldn't be allowed around it which is a good role in general for night lords like [SPEAKER_00]: It's it for anything you're like this is even remotely important.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it does But I am sure that these guys should not have this can't have it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They'll do some red should not have any They'll do something.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have nice things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Conrad is no that nice things.

[SPEAKER_01]: Conrad everything and conrad ship is just square surfaces nothing decorative [SPEAKER_01]: He's not safe.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what they end up doing is they actually, as they activate the device, they blow it up and blowing it up creates a massive flash in the warp, like incredible flash in the warp.

[SPEAKER_00]: One that can actually be seen through the room starts to be fair though, I do think that [SPEAKER_00]: they didn't give chaos and horse enough credit for this because I do think that they kind of wanted all of this to happen because they get what they want, which is the dark ages, the blood ages, and the ultramarades not at Terra because of all of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, yes and no.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a yes and no is because they also do show a giant race outside of the galaxy where food is and that race likes consuming violence.

[SPEAKER_01]: sometimes she got a break a couple legs to make it on my job oopsies so at first the beacon the tiered ends are barely a problem it's handleable it's why it's also why they started up McCreg this is I mean that is technically fan theory but no it's right so the beacon immediately draws all random alter means in the region around because they can see it the hate this we're going here so they arrive [SPEAKER_01]: and they also by the way just defeat the nightlords.

[SPEAKER_01]: This happens all the nightlords who are there just get wrecked because they're surrounded by all chimroids.

[SPEAKER_01]: Shortly thereafter though, the bloody nose and the dark angels also appear.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure if they thought they were arriving on Terry.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not all that clear why they went there.

[SPEAKER_01]: If it was a, are they, they're both trying to get back to Tara.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's hard if they got to think this was Tara or they just thought it was something.

[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, they arrive in orbit and Gilliman is whole fleet are there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman, sanguinius and the lion, get together.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they actually assumed that the Imperium was lost at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: Horace is a really good warmaster.

[SPEAKER_01]: They know that iron hands, salamanders, and raving guards are wrecked.

[SPEAKER_01]: So as far as they know, Horace has nine legions against maybe three, back in Ontario.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the altruians, the darkens, the blends are trapped.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's hear the galaxy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Horus would just run over whatever defense there was there and win.

[SPEAKER_01]: And as such, they decide what are we going to do about this?

[SPEAKER_01]: And they can't get back to Tara.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they all do what Primark's do best, design and revenge strategy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they go, okay, we're going to let this rune storm end.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what it does, we're going to take our three legions and we're going to go murder all of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because they don't know about chaos yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just think this is a regular revolution, although, which is weird, because they say that, but Gilman just say on anger on some earned into a demon prince.

[SPEAKER_01]: But why not?

[SPEAKER_01]: They also just thought about your demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that's not important.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry about that they then decide the next part of this so it's a challenge Well, who's gonna lead the Imperium and the lion Gilman actually it was actually kind of doing a big fight Well, not a big fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually a funny fight Gilman.

[SPEAKER_01]: They start talking about Gilman's We're gonna elect a leader.

[SPEAKER_01]: We go this stuff and the lion just starts yelling like you know Of course you want to be leader.

[SPEAKER_01]: You've always wanted to do yeah, just yelling at him and Gilman goes Yeah, no, I was talking about sanguineus and parts of sanguineus and the lion goes well, yeah I mean obviously I'll vote for sanguineus [SPEAKER_01]: Because of course we are going to vote for St.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's a rock star.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: The angel wing guy with the flowing hairs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because they're wind always on him somehow.

[SPEAKER_01]: So St.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wendy is just crowned the new king.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is also when we think the sanguine are longs.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you want no more about it, come back to the body of those cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then Conrad curves appears.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Conrad, we're going to do a dive into night loads at some point.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Brad's very excited about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am less excited about the guy who likes to murder children.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great villain dude.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he's still a villain.

[SPEAKER_01]: As we know, I like the good guys.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, Conrad, here's the thing about Conrad.

[SPEAKER_01]: Conrad and Sanguanyas are both precox.

[SPEAKER_01]: They both can see the future, but not cleanly.

[SPEAKER_01]: They actually just see their own deaths.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so Conrad is widely unclear of what he's seeing, but he thinks he's unbelievably.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Conrad has always seized the end.

[SPEAKER_01]: Conrad has always known that he will die at the hands of Imperial Assessant.

[SPEAKER_01]: Senguinius is one's a little bit clout here, but they both knew they would die as part of this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Senguinius knew he would die in defense of the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, they'd have capturing Conrad because he appears, and the lion is about to execute Conrad, because Conrad sucks, then they had this moment of a wait a minute.

[SPEAKER_01]: If this guy's premonitions are true, and Sanguinius believes they are, they believe, then there has to be an imperium to make an assassin, which means, and also, Sanguinius is still alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that means the emperor is still alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they immediately do an oopsie.

[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't mean to do a coup because that's what they just done.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then rapidly go back here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a good news, or what you'll talk about the night learned's cast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Conrad does talk a huge amount of shit to them when they realize this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the US or idiots, obviously.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just starts, and you wildly laughing at them.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you wasted a bunch of time.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the next big step in the Old Termine story is they start trying to get back to terror.

[SPEAKER_01]: All three of them do.

[SPEAKER_01]: While game back to terror, they run across Daven.

[SPEAKER_01]: Daven is the moon where Horace entered the serpent lodge and fell to chaos.

[SPEAKER_01]: and they discover while they're this like really small gap within the ruins storm that they can see basically Terra from Daven for like a better phrase there, but it's not very large.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the lion and guillamine agree to run this massive distraction because of course a bunch of chaos ships arrive at the last second blah blah blah and that sort of allows the blame to get back to Terra on defense, guillamine and the lion who by the way also is playing hate each other again.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is why they've talked about how the lion isn't thrilled to kill him It's back, but no one's talked about kill him.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a piniel lion being back.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's some stronger opinions But anyway, they rush back and the rest is the rest.

[SPEAKER_01]: The ultramarines have no more They don't make it [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: The authors have no more role in the horror's heresy, but they have a massive role in right afterwards because they recreate the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because no one else is interested.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's jump ahead now.

[SPEAKER_01]: At this point, it's maybe it's probably month, a couple months, maybe a few weeks, between the events on Daven and the invasion of Terra, it's not long.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty that this is when they got rapid fire.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they're not that far behind.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I remember it correctly, the first ultramarine ships appeared in orbit, there were dark angel ships first by beliefs and altruity, but it did.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everything was over by the time.

[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm saying is just, when Horace dropped the shields, if I'm remembering the book correctly, [SPEAKER_01]: Dark angels had already been seen some piece of it, but it was the Ultramarine fleet, but the first piece of were arriving.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing is they didn't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: He'd remember if he goes, I think in New York he did.

[SPEAKER_01]: So for some reason, I'd think in the New York, like the newest books, the Ultramarine fleet appeared at the edge.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, whole thing was he didn't know who was coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't matter, but I think they changed it to the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, the Ultra means arrive on Terra not long after the battles concluded, along with the Dark Angels, the Space Wolves, who also disappeared during the horrors, they did a lot of stuff up to a certain point, and they were like, and no.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Ultraman's arrive, and the empire is basically on its last breath.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to dive into this hard, because I think it's important.

[SPEAKER_01]: The entire imperial was built around the Emperor, Malkador, and Valdor.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's who ran everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is hard because of the fact that also these three didn't tell anybody anything about anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: They were constantly [SPEAKER_00]: Like, would they add these inner woven plans and that all of a sudden?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the emperor is entuned in the throne, never to lead again.

[SPEAKER_01]: He speaks to, we don't actually know how he really speaks to.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because of the findings, we know he speaks to gentlemen.

[SPEAKER_01]: We know he spoke to the woman who became the head of the sisters.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's also spoke to the cops.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the custos of the goof.

[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know, like, it's possible.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what?

[SPEAKER_01]: The custos just go in there and play cards with them.

[SPEAKER_01]: We actually, actually, they could add that to the board.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, it's game night.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the issue is that the emperor was entombed on the throne.

[SPEAKER_01]: Malkador is disintegrated.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he'll never be an invalid or just he found true death.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Valdor loses his mind over all ends of the happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: The king and yellow has some problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're covered in king and yellow in the future.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a king, it's a tough man.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we had tough cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do it, but it's going to be a tough cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because it is, he's, that's also kind of a mega dude.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, there's just a lot of conjecture around it.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's a tough one.

[SPEAKER_01]: That one in Legion of the Dam, they're going to be some challenging ones.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we call this hell.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, but the Imperium is leaderless.

[SPEAKER_00]: And not just leaderless, also leaderless with the, hey, the leaders didn't leave any.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there's we don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is, let's see, reference the game missed.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you have to then not know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: To make matters worth, you've got tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of worlds are burning around the galaxy.

[SPEAKER_01]: You've got civil wars for planets who declared loyalty to the Emperor or Horace.

[SPEAKER_01]: Others are currently under siege or recovering from being siege by either loyal as a traitorous.

[SPEAKER_01]: then you have the Mechanicum, just that problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't know, giant problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the next in line are even worse, the lords of terror, who are nothing more than Yesmen.

[SPEAKER_01]: They existed solely to create the illusion of the Emperor having a parliament.

[SPEAKER_01]: There was, they have no power, no say, and now they're in charge.

[SPEAKER_01]: It sucked from the beginning, continue.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now you've got seven primarx loyal to the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_01]: All of them are preoccupied.

[SPEAKER_01]: Vulcan's dead again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sort of.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he's gone.

[SPEAKER_01]: You only have six.

[SPEAKER_01]: And these are beings that were not created to rule.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were created to conquer.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so they're looking around at an entire Imperium on fire and they go you know what we can fix this All we have to do is go kick the crap out of everyone who did this and then the problem will just be fixed right guys [SPEAKER_00]: But back it up, let's, I'll be gonna give your boy a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, [SPEAKER_00]: Just all of this huge plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm assuming he's got a power point.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's got slides.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's got it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, and he's like, this is the way we can get everything right.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to take over this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's going to take your legions.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do this and everybody goes, that looks like a great plan.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do not care.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go this way.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the Lehman's going this way, the Lions going this way, we're going to kill every chance.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel very confident.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lehman walked out of the room and said, sure thing nerd and just walked out.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we've got next.

[SPEAKER_01]: He kicked sand in his face.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, Gilliman takes on the mantle of Lord Commander of the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_01]: Initially he does he actually stays behind his brother's good trader hunting which by the way Gilliman also wanted to a trader hunting.

[SPEAKER_01]: He just knew that there's no for reason to go and doing anything if there's no home to come back to.

[SPEAKER_00]: As I say, yeah, it's tough to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go kill the guys that said my house on fire, but my house is still on fire right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, the hoses there.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which number cast is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: uh one-of-five.

[SPEAKER_01]: So one-of-five the first time in any episode that John has said literally before I am going to edit you a literally and before this now of you saying I won't kill you to speak to be in the opening.

[SPEAKER_01]: Today we're literally going to come from Brad just to [SPEAKER_01]: So Gilliman directs his legion to focus not on the hunting down of traders, but in securing the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_01]: He does as he starts.

[SPEAKER_01]: He basically does what you should do, logistics questions.

[SPEAKER_01]: What are the most important?

[SPEAKER_00]: So he puts the words in order of what do we have to do?

[SPEAKER_00]: We need, it starts doing him in groups too.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need to take out a, we need to do a high world and aggro world.

[SPEAKER_01]: to forge worlds, let's build up.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he does that, making sure that the imperium can sustain itself.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then he goes after the flow of supplies, making sure, okay, maybe this world doesn't produce a lot, but it's a key stop along the warp route.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cool, let's go secure that one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And pretty quickly, he begins building this massive infrastructure back and brings the imperium back on a proper footing.

[SPEAKER_01]: at the same time, he does what Ultraman's love to do, which is remove planetary governors who are being kind of dancing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He starts smoked, showing anybody the rising times in trouble to further personal gain.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's hunting.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like governors and stuff out of there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I heard you were scamming people while there was a time of need.

[SPEAKER_00]: Looks like I'm going to punch you with a power.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, these lords of terror were doing some very serious butt sweating.

[SPEAKER_01]: Every time Gillon and when you come near the chamber of this day, the day.

[SPEAKER_01]: But pretty quickly, he actually does start right footing the Imperium.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's lucky because contact with Ultramar comes back at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's able to save Call, that's how Call gets saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Ultramarines begin to grow rapidly.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this leaves to one of the more controversial things he does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliam and looks around.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this is one of his worst decisions.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you know why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I see this.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, John, because he completely contradicts as a huge 180 when he comes back.

[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can say all you want, but you also thought the word or larger is a very good idea.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we're still a good idea.

[SPEAKER_01]: Really name one time they worked.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every time, they're like sex pants.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, they worked really well at creating the heresy.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the story on this is cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman looks around and realizes because of the casualties all the leaves are taking 50% of the entire space marine force of the Imperium are all termines.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not ideal.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilman realizes if he wanted to, he could horror us right then and there, conquer the galaxy, knowing and no one could stop him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And while there's no appeal for him to do that, he knew that the greatest threat to the Imperium was not Zeno's, it was the Imperium itself.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he decides I have to make it so that the most powerful parts of the Imperium can't undermine him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He neuters the military effectively.

[SPEAKER_00]: He writes the code exist.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and what he does is he pulls apart the Imperial Army into what is now now.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the astronomical tarmac, but the Imperial Guard an Imperial Navy And then he does the code of custodians, which does not go over well.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is the idea.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's we're going to break it Let's talk about how this went [SPEAKER_00]: So, County Correx were like, yeah, cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like a great idea.

[SPEAKER_00]: The lion doesn't even answer the call.

[SPEAKER_01]: He just goes, well, lion, actually.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think the lion's actually in the rock at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think this may have happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not mistaken.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's had his chapter.

[SPEAKER_00]: But no one knows that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which I also put up.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's also a key thing, one of the primarks just went missing and all the other primarks were like, man, that's probably nothing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, no one, no one was interested in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is still a better response than he got from Lehman.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who basically just sent him a copy, he facked over his butt.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what do I think?

[SPEAKER_01]: Or actually the, they fired.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't rage to buy.

[SPEAKER_01]: They fired on each other.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dorn, and then Dorn went to his weird torture, like self torture chamber thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Torn's weird.

[SPEAKER_01]: I like Dorn.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like I like Dorn, but I also, the glove.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's a body glove.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's weird.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so Guilament eventually gets everyone to agree to this.

[SPEAKER_01]: They break the legions up into really small pieces.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like 100 person they would they go from Gilman's going from Michael.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's quite out of 100.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's but maybe 80,000.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a thousand per chapter.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, per chapter and then each what's a called is a hundred each.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a company that's first now there's a company that's a company that's a company that's a company.

[SPEAKER_01]: Companies are a hundred and then there's 10 companies and a chapter.

[SPEAKER_01]: So after all this, Gilman.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I had to call him out again, but everybody kind of does this and then no one does it, but but continue.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I call everyone does it except for Lehman.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we're kind of if he doesn't do it all, Lehman does do it all, and the dark angels kind of go, hey, we got a lot of stuff going on over here.

[SPEAKER_01]: So whatever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, the fist, man, the fist go, yeah, sure we're going to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they go, here's the Templars.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what they say.

[SPEAKER_01]: The fist do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Templars are just like, yeah, we're actually just not keeping count.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the difference.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will defend them in this way.

[SPEAKER_01]: The space wolves actively told this thing to go pound sand.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas the black Templars just lost count of how many there are I think one of the black Templars were like hey we're supposed to have a thousand people in our chapter does anyone know how many we have and someone else went it's more than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were like is it like a rounding error more than that?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's a problem more than that and ever and I mean all right let's just I said it let's say it was too 20,000 yeah, let's picture the [SPEAKER_01]: Now, after writing the ship, though, and getting the impairing, the impairing is on very good footing.

[SPEAKER_01]: We covered this in a war of the beast.

[SPEAKER_01]: By the time the war of the beast was happening, the impairing was actually growing pretty rapidly.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's all because of the work of Gilliman and the ultramarines in the ceremony.

[SPEAKER_00]: Things are fired on all of this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've got a set.

[SPEAKER_01]: So at this point, Gilliman decides to go join the scouring.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sort of.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman isn't...

[SPEAKER_01]: Not just on the, I'm going to go find anyone with the, the sea of chaos and punch them.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's being strategic, but he's deciding to get involved.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Gilliman realizes that the forces of the traders are going to just continuously undermine the imperium, kind of at works.

[SPEAKER_01]: If left unchecked, they're going to keep [SPEAKER_01]: just irritating them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Gilman the ultramarines go out and they get strategic and who they're going to attack.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the first one was saving the asses of the fists.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we went so off on this when we did the, yeah, the cast on them.

[SPEAKER_00]: The iron warriors said, comically bugs bunny giant X trap, which said this way to the trap.

[SPEAKER_01]: so they went to the track.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and exact, I think it's funny because they went to the trap.

[SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, the altrans were watching going, like, are they going to the trap?

[SPEAKER_01]: They can't be going to the trap.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, they're going to the trap.

[SPEAKER_01]: And like, ah, the trap is sprung.

[SPEAKER_01]: Fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then they go down and save them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, dorn by the way, does not appreciate this.

[SPEAKER_01]: After this, the ultramarines take a little break and decide to go on their own a little bit of revenge.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the inquisition has declared that all of the home roads of the Trader primarcs are beyond reprieve and have to be exterminatist.

[SPEAKER_01]: The dark angels actually do I think like over half of them, but Colchese, Colchese, whatever, is the homeworld of the word bears, and never saying anything, but Colchese.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Colchese.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is now the new word for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm just doing it for Netflix.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, 100%.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm teaching my son how to read right now, Colchese.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how he would read that Colchese.

[SPEAKER_00]: Colchese is where the word bears are from.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they will always and forever be from that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, let's just say the Ultraman's are a little excited to go blow up cold cheese, and unfortunately they discover and think, get there, it's really not as satisfying as they were going for it, because Lord Gar, Arabis, Corferon, the West, the word bears, didn't care about it anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: And all these abandoned it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the world had just fallen to anarchy.

[SPEAKER_01]: The populists are just, they're worshiping a collection of chaos gods and killing each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: Weirdly enough, there's a civil war there because all of the different gods are having their people fight against the other.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the ultramarades get there all geared up to like, we're going to have this big fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to teach them a lesson.

[SPEAKER_01]: They've looked on the planet and go on the plus side.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is irredenable.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they fire cyclonic torpedoes at the core until it breaks apart.

[SPEAKER_01]: They turn it into Alderon.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I was like, explain it to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And to this day, no one knows where Colchese was.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because it was turned into an asteroid and all records in the Imperium of its location are gone.

[SPEAKER_01]: As opposed, like Armageddon, which oopsies.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, soon that thereafter, the ultramarines begin hunting down the two major protagonists of the scouring, which is the Alpha Legion and Emperors' children.

[SPEAKER_01]: They start with Alpha Legion and this story is, we're going to have to do Alpha Legion at some point guys and we're going to, they are, that's the property.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's so tricky.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, man, doing that one linear, it'll be tough.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, Alpha Legion are taking massive advantage of the disorganization during the horror's heresy and they continue post heresy.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're disrupting supply lines, messing with key worlds, to what extent no one even knows.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Alpha Legion are masters of subterfuge and covering their tracks.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: a lot of the actions they're performing to this day or still not known by the Imperium if they did 10,000 years ago.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is some after effects you can see, but that's about all you knew.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilman knows his brother, because again, no one knows there were two, although one of them did get his head chopped off.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dorn.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there's one through and head chopped off just in case.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, hands chopped off run through and head chopped.

[SPEAKER_01]: The dorn was in a mood.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don [SPEAKER_01]: But, Alpharius, New Gillin was coming, had prepared for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is one of the stories I like about Gillin, which is most of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alpharius has this grand plan.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Alpha Legion have been secretly spying on all of the legions, since they're basically their inception.

[SPEAKER_01]: Memorizing all them knowing all their tactics or styles of battle, everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: Almost the way the Necrons can then predict the future, they can then predict the battle plans of the other legions.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Alpha Legion knows that the Ultraman's are going to land outside, and that they're going to start moving forward in waves, taking land, securing land, moving forward.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's just the way the Ultraman's work.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the Alpha Legion's set a bunch of traps all over the place and the route they know the Ultraman's are going to take, and their plan is as they come through, then they're going to just slaughter them or following their thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: The problem was the Alpha Legion worked the only ones to do with their study.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilman also had been studying his brothers and knew this is this city in the process right you know that I know that you know So I clearly cannot Gilman knew he couldn't take the copy in front of him, but he also knew he couldn't put take the copy in front of his opponent.

[SPEAKER_01]: So these things are important [SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman decides that this is going to be all traps, but you know what Alpha Legion isn't ready for.

[SPEAKER_01]: Me and my closest bros going just ape wild and going straight at them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he also knows that if he can cut off the head of the snake, it's a huge loss.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you can kill the primar, it's a giant blow.

[SPEAKER_00]: You lose combat effectiveness.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a psychic and psychological blow to the lead janks, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he know he needed to mix it up.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he comes in hot and heavy on this and I love [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Gilman rushes in and the story is kind of interesting because Gilman also knows that by killing the primar that the entire lesion will just fall apart mentally.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what he does.

[SPEAKER_01]: He rushes in.

[SPEAKER_01]: They get a big fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a classic GW fight of up and down back and forth.

[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, Gilman kills all various.

[SPEAKER_01]: or omega.

[SPEAKER_01]: Problem is, after he kills him, all of Alpha Legion doesn't get up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't fall down crying.

[SPEAKER_01]: They'll go, okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Spartacus.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna come kill you now and they get attacked through Gilman actually has to abandon and flee.

[SPEAKER_01]: Him and his Legion, they barely get out of the system with it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's super didn't kill her for years, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the whole reason that they used to have the best trait of that they bounced whoever was your HQ around, which is their whole thing because you never know who's Alfredo's.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because the whole Legion looks the same.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alfredo Jenard.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alpha Legion, so if they never give me another White Scar's book, I'm fine, but I really do want to give me another Alpha Legion book, because I do think there's a lot, there's a lot you could do with Alpha Legion, like a lot, a lot you could do with Alpha.

[SPEAKER_00]: Especially in novel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, lore wise on the board it's cool, but not that cool in the books, man, there's a ton of stuff because of all the intrigue and everything else they have going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, 100%.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: Gilman's next big thing he has to do is going deal with a forum snake with wings.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now John's going to get said.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, as the Alpha Legion were a thorn on the side of the Imperium, the Emperors children were in nightmare for this citizenry.

[SPEAKER_01]: Basically invading a planet after planet, committing just unspeakable acts of the gravity cruelty, then kidnapping the people who they didn't do that to and taking them back to the eye of terror.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kiliman has to do something about them.

[SPEAKER_01]: The ultramarines pride themselves in making the lives of those underneath them better and the embers children reading on your planet is not making your life better.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is pre-jure-carry, by the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: The jure-carry we're reading during the horror's heresy, but that hasn't taken control yet, so it's minimal.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a kind of weak sauce of invasions.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Gilman decides, along with six successor chapters, to go and they, the, ooh, Zalco X.

A time X is the first letter.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea how that worked as pronounced, but Zalco system, Xalco, anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: And X is gonna give it to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not good.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ultramarines arrive in the Zalco system.

[SPEAKER_01]: So his phlegom sees them.

[SPEAKER_01]: He has even fall back and tried to escape.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gillimate is not about that and they chase them.

[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to kill phlegom.

[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, the Ultramarines surround the Amperes children around the system of Thessala, which comes up a lot by the ultramarine lore.

[SPEAKER_01]: But turns out, phlegom wasn't running away.

[SPEAKER_01]: he was actually baiting Gilliman and into his full legion and out of nowhere the entire legion attacks with force.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilliman looks around and realizes he's outnumbered outgone and there's no real solution and goes cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still going to go cut the head off the snake figuratively and literally in a scenario.

[SPEAKER_01]: The fleets get in a protracted battle, blah, blah, blah, Gilman brings his flagship called the gauntlet of power, close to full grims, which is called the pride of the emperor, and he unloads this massive broadside into it, which brings the shields down for a minute, at which point Gilman goes cool, townery of kill, full grim and teleports onto the ship, along with his honor guard.

[SPEAKER_00]: Unforic, come on now, let's talk about what he was not well for.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gilliam is a master planner.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like when Gilliam and I arrived in the ship, he looked around and went, I have made a colossal mistake because I've made some errors before they do not read on this.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was bad.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Gilliam and had just killed Alpharius.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alpharius, while a trader, was not chaos infused.

[SPEAKER_00]: He probably wasn't Elfarius.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's also that be a little sprinkling of chaos.

[SPEAKER_01]: So all you would have had, full-groom is a demon prince of chaos.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is from, by the way, the book Dark Imperium, if you want more details on this, but it's not a good fight for Gilman.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's protracted, but Gilman basically halfway through goes, I'm gonna die, like he realizes, but halfway through that this is not gonna end well.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty awesome for the Ultra Marines, though, because after this happens, those guys gain pile knowing they're not coming back.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's what happens is, full-groom and guillemars are having a sword duel and during it, full-groom, again, chaos, poison, blade, number two, stabs guillemars.

[SPEAKER_01]: Luckily, again, poison can't kill guillemars.

[SPEAKER_01]: Unless we're on a table top, and I'm playing my jewelry.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you have guillemars, I've killed him.

[SPEAKER_01]: All the time, I mean, all the time, not even hard.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, here's a bunch of boys and jobs.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I got them and failed them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Coolies, that wasn't even complicated.

[SPEAKER_01]: Although it's better now because boys and no longer works on monsters, it was brutal at eight to ninth when I would wound Gilman Art of three.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's still, it works on some, depends.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's now anti-infinity, but just, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, [SPEAKER_01]: As Gilman falls down, his elite guard rush to his aid, they teleport him back, and I like this stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: Take such epic losses for them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they take total losses, all the total losses, because as the Legion, the call goes on Legion, Gilman is down, and the entire Legion, everyone in space surrounds the gauntlet of power.

[SPEAKER_01]: and they just start sacrificing themselves into the onslaught from the Emperor's children so that Gilliman and his ship can escape and they take him back to McCregg where he is entombed and hangs out there for 10,000 years until Colt shows up with some elder.

[SPEAKER_00]: going to say until Billy Crystal showed up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise notice the miracle man because because he's only mostly dead John.

[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise you have a rude round his pocket look for change.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that actually concludes the story of Gilliman and takes us to a kind of weird spot in Ultramarine Moore.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say a weird spot in Ultramarine Lord, the Ultramarines play a role going forward, but it gets really hard to tell.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when we were discussing what we want to do next with Ultramarines, we decided to do so we did back when we did the Space Wolves, which the next cast will do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're rather than going to talk about [SPEAKER_01]: the individual, like, actual, like, linear progression, words you're talking about the characters of the Ultramarines, because they're really well written.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not well written.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're all have these insane over-the-top stories that come up once or twice for everybody that's played Space Marine, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Calgarh does Calgarh matcha.

[SPEAKER_01]: Calgarh, I'm gonna spoil it right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Calgarh beats up an avatar of King.

[SPEAKER_01]: who is made of molten metal.

[SPEAKER_01]: Next episode, we're going to go through a bunch of the characters of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to skip Titus though.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a whole cast of the space-pouring games because it's actually easier that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: Titus is there's enough lore there because I want to spend some time especially at space-pouring.

[SPEAKER_00]: So a huge arc between him and the Death Watch.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, so we're gonna be coming primeras.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we're gonna do a whole thing on that one actually the pre near future because it gives been out long enough I never like spoiling stuff that's out fresh as you guys are aware Like we don't talk about some of the end of death books very much because they're just too fresh all of the Necron cast I didn't talk about a book that was like three weeks old, but whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's gonna read it It's the one book that I hadn't read for a James one one one Yeah, that is So next week [SPEAKER_01]: moral tummarines don't worry for those of you who are hating on my love of all tummarines it's the last one and a big thank you to everyone who came to our live cast last week could have opened with that all right by the way till next week jump our Saudi and breadchester it's got to get everybody [UNKNOWN]: You
