Episode Transcript
So you've been hearing me talk about rewrite your site, the eight week program that helps you.
Drum roll, rewrite your website with structure and support, but what does that actually look like?
What is going to happen during those eight weeks, and what would your experience of being in the program be like?
Those are all very valid questions, and today I'm gonna walk you through it week by week so you know exactly what to expect if you join.
Before we get into the weeks, let me tell you how the program is structured.
All of the course content will be loaded into your course platform when we start January 6th.
The reason I'm not doing it in advance is because I don't want you to jump too far ahead or get yourself all sorts of confused before we start together., Come January 6th, all of the course will be loaded into the site.
I was originally gonna drip the content week by week, but the reason I chose not to do that is because I know that some people work differently when it comes to their style of learning.
I, for example, when I have a program like this, I like to watch.
All the content in the beginning, so I get a general idea of how things build on each other and what to expect.
And then I will go back to the beginning and work through each module slowly.
I also know people like to literally just do one week at a time.
Not be distracted or not be overwhelmed, so it is organized and separated so that you can literally work on each week's module only, or you can review the content.
And I think this is important because when you have a program where there is content that is prerecorded and loaded in there and there is a live element, I don't want you to discount the trainings that you're going to get.
Yes, you can come to office hours and ask me questions, but the course platform really holds a plethora of information to help educate you and prepare you to write your own copy.
Now let's talk about the actual program star.
Every Tuesday I will host office hours within the program.
This is your chance to ask questions about your content.
You can ask questions about what you've already written, how to improve on it.
If it's working, this is where you can come and talk about feeling stuck and get unstuck.
And you can talk through anything you're struggling with or get, you know, live feedback even on your copy.
On Thursdays, we'll have coworking calls.
This time is dedicated to actually work on the copy together.
This coworking is mostly going to be silent.
There will be a check-in point, but you will bring your work, you will make progress, and you'll have the accountability of showing up and getting it done alongside the group.
Throughout the week, you'll also have access via our private Slack channel.
And there you can post copy anytime if you want group feedback.
You can ping me for any feedback or questions you might have outside of the office hours, times.
There is also a copy review form, and this is where you will officially submit your work to me.
Asynchronously.
This is perfect if you cannot make it to those office hours because you can submit your copy through the form.
And I will review it and send feedback directly to you.
The form also allows you to ask any questions that you want addressed at office hours, and that helps whether you are actually planning on attending or whether you, you know, you just cannot attend at all.
Because you'll be getting that question in ahead of time and you won't have to worry about getting distracted on the call.
I will have it directly in front of me and I will make sure that I address whatever you need.
And quickly before we move on to the week by week breakdown, I want to note that I am actually considering adding a few more office hour sessions to meet the needs of people who are struggling to attend calls that take place during the workday.
That's actually a question I've had come up a couple of times through email,, where people are not.
Able to make the times that are scheduled, which I should say, I think I said this maybe yesterday in the episode.
If not, I said it to my email,, list yesterday.
I chose the times specifically so that I could meet people on the east and west coast of the US at natural times for them as well as Europe in.
Early evening time, so they're not staying up late.
And I also have a few office hours in there already from my Australian friends,, or friends from Asia or different areas that it's not perfect, but I have tried to build in time that everyone can make either during my traditional work day or in the evenings, but I do wanna meet everyone's needs.
So if they're struggling to attend calls during the day, if that's something that's sticking out in your mind, like, oh gosh, I just don't know if that call schedule is gonna work.
Know that that is something I'm definitely considering and I will pull the whole group once we get started in December to pick.
Whatever time we choose to be like, to me, that could mean a two hour session.
On a weekend.
That could mean, you know, another evening office hours, every other week, whatever it is.
We'll make sure that anyone who joins the program get some live time with the group during an office hour session.
All right, let's move on and talk about the week, bi-week breakdown.
Well, actually maybe before I do that, let's talk about the December pre-party.
First, I would like to make sure this is very clear.
December is absolutely optional.
I have scheduled a few sessions on my calendar, so that way we can, one, get to know each other, two have some coworking time to just kind of get some work done and three, start to do a tiny bit of what we can to prep for the program if you want to.
So if you come, you're likely gonna get ahead.
You will work on research and offer clarity, but if you cannot come, this is built into week one and you can do it at that point.
Let's talk 2026.
'cause that's, I mean, we're, we've been talking for a little while now and that's the whole point of this episode.
Week one is messaging and story mining.
This is Foundation Week.
Your job is to clarify who you serve, what you offer, what makes you different, and how you want to sound.
We will also some do some story mining, and what that means are details or examples that can make your copy feel real instead of generic.
You will leave week one with your positioning statement.
Your messaging pillars, your brand voice, and a collection of stories that you can use throughout the site.
Stories or little fun facts or tidbits that make the site really show, showcase your personality and stand out the way that you want your brand to stand out.
Week two is the first week we jump into writing, and here we will work on the homepage and the contact page two of which are kind of your highest impact pages.
You will write a homepage that immediately makes it clear what you do and who it's for, and directs the website viewers to the route that you want them to take on your website, in the contact page.
We're gonna work on guiding people to take action and answering any type of questions that they may have on the page so that they feel more primed and prepped when they're ready to talk to you.
These two pages, they, they do a lot of heavy lifting on your site, so we're gonna tackle them early and just get them out of the way so we can move on to some other things.
And week three, we're gonna focus only on the services page or pages.
This is where you're getting really clear on how you speak about your offers.
So we'll work on communicating your value without overselling so you don't feel like you are being salesy.
And also not underselling yourself as well.
'cause people do fall in one of those two traps.
And we will showcase your offers to your audience in a way that makes them more primed and prepped before they book or before they get on a discovery call.
Now, originally I said service page or pages, and I think that's important because you know, if you've listened to this podcast for a while, you'll know that.
I usually say things like, well, you'll have a main service page and secondary service pages for your offers, things like that.
I think that you can work on more than just one service page during this week.
I don't think you can do all of 'em, and I will get back to that during week five.
However, by the end of this week, your services will be clearly explained and easy to understand.
Week four is your about page.
And most people dread this page because it feels so awkward to write about yourself, specifically if you're a creative or solo printer.
Even as a small business, sometimes having to, you know, even if it's one row or one section of the page that you dedicate to yourself as the founder or whatever.
It feels heavy to write, a lot of the times because everything's in your own head and you don't know how to get it out, or you just feel like you are boasting and that feels awkward.
Well, we will take time this week to turn your story into something that is strategic.
It will be a page that builds trust and positions you as an expert in a way that's not bragging or stiff.
Now we're talking about week five.
Now remember a week-ish ago I told you I'd come back here.
Week five is strategically like set up to be a catch up week, which is so important.
Did you notice what pages I just talked about?
Home about services, contact.
That's your main navigation.
That's a lot of work you just did.
And I think that by the time you get to week five, you'll really have flexed that creative writing muscle where you're able to look at what you've created and say, Hmm, I need to make some adjustments.
Or, oh, I, I, I know how I can describe this better now.
Or, you know what, I wrote a lot of fluff in there.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna cut some out.
Or maybe you don't even look back at what you've written and maybe you just say.
Wow.
I need some more time.
Like I'm, I need to catch up because I am not done with all of this.
You know, all of these pages that we've set out to do in the past couple of weeks, and again, this, it's built like this on purpose.
If you are behind, please use this time to catch up.
If you're ahead, go ahead and refine and if you're right on track, you know what?
Just take a breather.
Use the week so you don't feel like you're constantly racing to get things done and focus on something that you feel really good about.
All right.
Let's talk about the remaining weeks in the program.
Week six and seven, we're going to do supporting pages.
Now we, we are gonna do some more stuff, but let's start with the pages.
Week six is all about all of those additional pages, and that will be different for every type of business.
It might be that you need to do more secondary services pages.
It may be that you're building out a speaker page or a podcast page, um, maybe you're creating a case study, whatever it is, whatever applies to your business.
That's week six for you.
I believe likely that's gonna spill into week seven, which is why I've like allocated time for you to spend in week seven, finishing up your writing.
I do want you to focus on one more thing in week seven, and that is Polish.
You're gonna do a full editing pass to make sure everything feels cohesive and you'll, you know, start to make notes for me on what you need me to really address because you might feel like there are gaps, or if you have questions, by the end of this week, you are this close to being done with your website.
You're not almo, you're not almost done.
You've, you've actually finished the writing work.
But you'll have me built in to help you do that.
Editing and adjusting, which brings us to week eight.
It's technically doing a lot of new writing.
You might be doing some leftover rewriting from last week, depending on feedback, but we're gonna focus on launch planning and copy repurposing.
In week eight.
We plan your website launch strategically so that people actually see it and engage with it you can't just post your website link when it's brand new on a social media post, or maybe shoot out one email blast to your list and say like, Hey, look at this brand new website and keep your fingers crossed that it will completely transform your business and bring new clients to you.
That doesn't work.
You need an actual plan in place to showcase the site, to talk about the site, to relate the site updates to your actual business, and how you help your audience use that conversation as a selling tool, but also just force the site update as a consistent conversation that does not die out the day that you publish the site.
And we do that from a strategic launch plan.
In addition to the launch plan, we're also gonna talk about how to repurpose all of the copy that you just wrote into other forms of copier content.
For example, that about page probably has a bunch of bits and pieces that you can use on social media posts, or maybe you use it in a welcome email sequence.
Your services pages might have things that go into your sales frameworks.
There might be content that you can use or turn into blogs or describe more.
You might find that there was pieces of copy that you.
Cut from the final draft that you can reuse again on social, in your email as part of your sales conversations, your frameworks, your written content.
So I want you to walk away from this program with way more than a website.
I want you to have a complete messaging system, and the trainings in week eight, both launch planning and copy purposing, will help you do just that.
That is the structure.
But I do wanna take a second to tell you about the experience and what it actually feels like.
Each week you will have one clear focus.
You are not trying to fix your whole website at once.
You are working on one thing, getting feedback, and then moving forward.
That makes it manageable instead of overwhelming.
In addition, the office hours, I want them to feel collaborative.
You can ask questions about your specific copy.
You can get feedback on what you're stuck on.
Um, and you can hear how I'm helping other people walk, work through their own challenges.
You will learn just as much from listening to other people's questions as you do from asking your own.
The coworking calls are all about accountability and getting the work done.
It is a dedicated time where you're forcing yourself to actually sit down and write and work on your business.
You show up, you work, and you make progress, period.
There's something really powerful about doing the work alongside other people.
You know, it's a safe space where everyone's in the same boat.
And everyone's working on the same thing, albeit, you know, it's different for each business.
You are not alone in your messy first drafts and, and honestly, nobody even has to see the first drafts during coworking calls.
They just know that you're doing the work during that time.
You know the Slack channel, you don't have to use it if it's not your thing, but if it is, it becomes a space where you can test ideas, ask quick questions, poll an audience, and get encouragement.
If you feel stuck, you know, it's not just me giving feedback, other people will start to recognize good copy too, and they can cheer you on or help you workshop something.
And because you're doing this with a group there is built in accountability.
You keep moving because everyone else is moving too.
This is not a stressful way.
I will make sure it does not become stressful, but I hope that you feel it in a motivational way.
By the end, you don't just have a finished website.
And I know I just said this a, a moment ago because you will feel confident about the messaging, you'll understand what makes copy work and be able to use that in different things that you write in the future.
And you know.
You'll see that you're capable and, and that you can do it, which is such a huge present to give yourself.
So that is what rewrite your site looks like week by week.
It is structured, yet supportive.
You know, you're doing the work, but you're not doing it alone.
If you've been wondering what it's actually like to be in the program, well now, you know, clear focus, feedback and editing.
And at the end, a website that you wrote yourself with expert guidance.
Enrollment is open now and early bird bonuses are available through the end of the day on November 27th, all the way up until 1159.
Eastern Standard time.
After that, you can still join our January start pending that there's enough space in the program, , but the bonuses are going to go away or shift slightly.
If this sounds like what you need, I'd love for you to join us.
And I'll be back tomorrow where we keep talking copy specifically about those early bird bonuses that I just mentioned because they are worth.
Way more than you might think that they are.
Okay, see you tomorrow.
