Episode Transcript

Speaker 1

Dual flavor by the way six five one carpets Studios here in Saint Louis Park, but also just this beautiful, peaceful it's like training camp.

There's tranquility, there's serenity, there's Joe Huber, there's all sorts of things going out at the countryside Manor in London, in the London area, outside of London, I believe, which is where Pa is.

Speaker 2

And you know Pa went.

Speaker 1

I went to break listening to to Jets a little bit during his presser and then just kind of going to pause.

I'm just thinking, you know, with with the way things are like depth chart deep dives, and I know you have a lot of extra time on your hands of this particular moment, or at least you know you're not not time on your hands, but maybe you're just more captive given the fact that you're in the lap of luxury at the countryside Manor with no air conditioning.

Speaker 3

There is Yeah, it's you've said it before.

Our time slot nine to noon Central, Yeah, it's it's the best you can have in radio.

It is three to six.

I mean, you know it's not like a done full shows the last couple of days, but still you know, committed, committed to committed to the fan and being here and doing radio.

You know, three to six ain't the greatest in the world if you want to if you're thinking about four hours in roalm trip round trip, elish traffic to get to London proper.

So now we're good.

No, that's but interesting around.

Speaker 1

But but that means that the voluminous depth chart has to be absolutely incredible right now, like you know more.

Speaker 2

I mean, and and you mentioned it.

Speaker 1

I mean some of these fact cats that they're bringing on Sunday, whether it's Shelby Harris, it's MALIEK.

Collins, like it's it's big in size for days you went down.

You're hitting me with some undrafted cat Aiden Huntington.

But but what what what is you know, kind of captivating your interest in terms of you know, this specific defensive group you know outside of you know, Delpit and you kind of hit me with this.

By the way, I wasn't aware, I mean, I know who Grant Delpit is, I wasn't aware that he's kind of established himself as maybe one of the pillars of that that Browns defense.

Speaker 2

So I got to school myself up a little bit.

But just from like.

Speaker 1

A depth chart, deep dive, whether you're it's like, wow, you wouldn't believe what Ronnie Hickman's doing, Like, what's what's stretching your imagination in terms of Stefanski's group defensively into Sunday?

Speaker 3

All right, Two things here, I get long winded.

The fan has learned.

So what's mandatory break time here for Murphy's Zay Scott than operations?

Speaker 2

Guy, we got we got ten minutes twenty four?

Speaker 3

Okay.

Secondly, I leave, and every single day you play real music out into into segments, I mean, what is is it?

Because it's Blake more responsible for pulling it out because well that's part of it.

I mean, it's unbelievable everything.

It's like Michael Jackson Doobie Brothers yesterday.

Speaker 1

Dude, I am honestly just going to freaking lose it if I have to continue listening to rights free and bless these people who make a living making this music by the way that it's available to us.

But my goodness, I need some freaking soul back in the I need some loose booty.

I need some earth wind and fire.

I need some curzy.

I need some loose booty.

Speaker 3

All right, what do we need to know here?

Speaker 2

Oh just yeah, deep chart dep dive, just feeling.

Speaker 3

Miles Garrett first overall pick in twenty seventeen, four sacks this year, six time All Pro.

That's cool, not the Pro Bowl bit, the one that matters.

All Pro.

Four time first team All Pro.

Denzel Ward has four defensive touchdowns in his career, two pick sixes, couple of fumble recoveries, their nickel, their third corner.

Miles Harden, second year South Dakota go Crazy yoats his last interception August of twenty twenty three in college at Missouri.

Now Cleveland in playing.

Now this is a home game for Cleveland, but I think when people listen to it on the Audio Leader in KFAM a thirty am Sunday, it's going to be a Vikings home game, they're going to be dramatically more Vikings fans than Browns games.

So technically this is I mean, it's a game away from the dog Pound.

Cleveland this year, in two games away from the dog Pound have a points differential of minus forty eight in their two at the dog Pound at home their plus two with a victory.

So there's that when it comes to their defense, Mason Graham has a half sack and he's like two and a half tackles a game, so he doesn't play every play.

But I just for some reason, like when I asked people about him, including O'Connell with x's and o's, what was that two days ago?

You know, like he didn't go down the road deep on Mason Graham.

I just, you know, wonder how well Mason Graham is playing Malie Collins.

He's a Beefeater, unrestricted free agent from the Niners, only a sack and a half.

Tenth year from Nebraska.

He and Shelby Harris are problems now.

Shelby's in his eleventh year from Illinois State.

And we remember a game when the Broncos were in town where they were leading by like three touchdowns at halftime.

Then Rudy caught that one from Chains and the place was as loud as you're going to hear it.

Well, Shelby Harrison that game for the Broncos just absolutely mauled man.

Now that's several years ago, but he's still going very very strong.

Jerome Baker eighth hear from Ohio State, unrestricted from Tennessee.

He has to pick sixes.

Aiden Huntington was undrafted from Tulane only a half sack, but ninety eight plays a lot.

Why because he's one of those big, fast, strong bits that nobody's heard of, and he plays a lot and he fits the role that they want to do quite well.

Carson Schwsinger, the second round rookie from UCLA, plays every play.

He's part of their nickel linebacker group, very very fast.

I just think Peyton Wilson forty one for the Steelers from last game.

They kind of played the same way and they play a lot of single high safety, So you're going to see thirty three Ronnie Hickman as like the angel on the shoulder bit above it all.

I'm not sure they're going to do that in this game.

Maybe they will because that's how they play and that's how they play best.

But in doing so, Delpit gets down by the line.

So nine Grant delpits down by the line of scrimmage a ton and and he's in essence and extra linebacker.

He plays a lot like mattellis.

Are they going to really do that against Jefferson and Addison and Naylor and Howkinson.

We'll see, We'll see.

It's a pick your poison bit here.

If they're going to single eighteen and three, then if Jordan Addison has a one hundred yard game or more, it would be the first time in his career he's gone back to back with one hundred yard games, and he's one hundred yards from two thousand in his career.

And Jordan at practice the last I mean Jordan Addison from the Patriots joints, through the Steelers game and the practice up to it, Through the two practices I've seen, he's never looked better.

He looks so good and engaged right now.

So that's that's the Browns defense.

Want anything on the offense.

Speaker 1

Well, yeah, I guess as I'm looking at this, Cam Robinson's gonna play, isn't he.

I know Conklin on the right side has been limited with that elbow a bit, but they're really gonna, you know, ship this guy over in a cargo container and flop him out on the field at Tottenham.

Cam Robinson's gonna play left tackle.

Speaker 3

May yeah, I'll be surprised if he starts.

Remember left handed quarterback, So the right tackle is a bit okay, the right tackle is the key here, Jack Conklin.

I didn't see practice report today, but I think they're going to get him up for the game and Conklin's good, so he would play right tackle.

Cornelius Lucas would play left tackle.

Dylan Gabriel has played this year three or four nineteen yards, touchdown, no picks.

The touchdown he threw was the fellow rookie Dylan Samson.

A Samson is a fourth round rookie from Tennessee backs up Judkins.

And this will be the starting debut for Gabriel.

Five to eleven South Paul from Honolulu, And you know, in the mop up duty against Detroit and Baltimore, he didn't really play that much, but they let him throw four times for nineteen yards.

He's never been sacked, never thrown in an interception.

He's yet to run the ball.

And let me ask you this.

Don't you think he has one hundred and fifty five passing touchdowns in college?

Yea most in FBS history.

All right, I mean he played six years at Central Florida, Oklahoma and Oregon.

He also ran thirty three touchdowns in during college.

But I think there should be an asterisk on this one fifty five because my man played six years.

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, it's still it boggles.

Speaker 1

It's the I mean, it's so boring with the nil bit and just you think going back to that COVID year when even the Gophers they had guys that were like on their seventh season because extra eligibility in all of this and now your ability to transfer, and I mean, they're just pulling rabbits out of hats with these extra seasons these kids get.

There should be an asterisk there and maybe the Honolu Lulu native will get laid.

Speaker 3

Out by this.

Mike.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it was just so dumb, but looking forward to seeing how sadly without Alex, I just pulled a bursat here Andrew Van Ginkle Van Ginkell, do I have two more minutes?

You do have two more minutes?

Anything else on the cutting even floor.

Speaker 3

Cool battle of the Kevins O'Connell and Stefanski.

It is O'Connell twenty twenty four Coach of the Year, Stefanski two time Coach of the Year.

O'Connell was with Cleveland in twenty fifteen as the quarterbacks coach.

Johnny Manzel, though it was his first coaching job.

Mike Patton, who's also on the Viking staff now, was the head coach of the Browns.

Then he gave Kevin his first opportunity.

Stefanski spent fourteen years with the Vikings offensive coordinator twenty eighteen or half of it, and twenty nineteen.

From a Vikings defensive standpoint, I think this is really cool.

The Vikings have allowed seven plays this year through four of twenty yards or more.

Just seven.

That's tied for first with Blakemore's team, the Green Bay Packers.

Seven through four is a pretty good number when you you get to third and six or longer.

Third and six are longer against flores defense.

And Birah Murphy and I are going to chat about this next segment.

The opponents are of two of twenty six, so two first downs twenty four non first downs.

That's tops in the NFL.

Pittsburgh went one for five when third or six and longer.

You think I've had a lot of time on my hands.

It's only Thursday.

Are you freaking kidding me?

Speaker 2

Oh?

Speaker 1

And that's what I love when I watch you starting to put those things together on a weekly basis.

Speaker 3

Man, those are delicious.

Speaker 1

And that two of twenty six put the put that kid back there on third and six or longer and left Flora's feast last a little bit for you.

Anything impress you.

I mean we know about in Ndjoku and Harold fan in the way they use him.

Anything cool about Isaiah Bond or Jamari Thrash, like.

Speaker 3

It just feels other than Judy.

Speaker 1

I'm familiar with him, just you know, really on the grind Stefanski is with with young playmakers and then maybe some guys that they're they're trying just to muster anything positive out of well.

Speaker 3

Isaiah Bond, undrafted from Texas rookie.

He got Joe Flacco benched, all right.

I mean it's either Flaco threw it to a lion or Bond run the wrong route.

I'm willing to roll the dice the Bond round the wrong route.

So nevertheless, he's number sixteen and he's never scored in an NFL touchdown.

Then you get Jerry Judy.

He hasn't run the ball in three years.

He has zero touchdowns this year.

Jamari Thrash, second year from Louisville, fifth rounder in twenty twenty four, zero touchdowns.

In Djoku zero touchdowns, Harold fannin junior zero touchdowns, third running back who plays Jerome Ford zero touchdowns.

You get the bit here.

They don't score a lot of touchdowns.

Speaker 1

No, they certainly do not.

That's awesome, man, thanks for doing a little depth chart deep dive with me.

I'm gonna say we're gonna hear from Zay Scott and Bira Murphy Junior around the corner.

I'll check back in with you for a final segment.

Speaker 3

All right, yep, thanks Bud, goodwar, thank you.

Speaker 2

That's Pa back in London and around the corner.

Speaker 1

You're going to get to hear PA chatting not just with running back Xavier Scott, but also Viking's corner Byron Murphy Junior some sneaky post practice chats that he recorded earlier this morning.

That's next, not a neon in the fan, Welcome back, It's Nordo here.

It's nine to noon.

Speaker 2

A couple segments to go.

Speaker 1

This segment, we have a couple of chats that Pa was able to catch up on, some coveny ketchup's London town style and first you'll hear from Byron Murphy Junior momentarily.

But first running back Xavier Scott, who sadly due to injury, has gotten a lot more reps and made some plays and kind of working his way into the mix with the Minnesota Vikings.

Xavier Scott chatting with Pa earlier this morning.

Speaker 2

Let's listen.

Speaker 3

Well, I didn't get to see you much after the game, so congratulations on your first touchdown.

Thank you.

Speaker 4

I appreciation following.

Speaker 3

Yeah, for sure.

And when you watch it back, because I didn't see a replay at it, I mean, and pardon the question, were you one hundred percent in one percent?

Speaker 5

Yeah, looking back at the time, I'm like, I feel like I'm in.

I just I think I'm in, And then were looking back, yeah, hundred percent.

Speaker 3

Well the reason I ask is because supposedly, you know, they they have play clocks in both end zones, which was a problem in this game, but they they review all touchdowns and I thought that was super close, and they just went bang banging.

I guess it wasn't that close.

Speaker 5

Right, Yeah, and now they found a perfect angle, honestly, and you can still see the ship of the yellow.

Speaker 4

So it was reviewed and yeah, it was sure enough.

It was a touchdown.

Speaker 3

So this Brown's defense AFC North don't get a chance to watch them much.

Miles, Garrett delp It, Denzel Ward, you know, we know some of the names.

So just when I say Brown's defense, boom, what comes to mind?

Speaker 4

Miles Garrett for sure.

Speaker 5

I mean those guys they all play hard, they're they have a good defense, and uh, you know we already know they're gonna they're gonna bring their game and uh and we know we'll bring ours too.

So when I when I think about their defenses, is definitely that that they're they're they're tough, they're they're coming to play football.

Speaker 3

Have it now?

Knowing that that you were a receiver before running back, I still just marvel when I look at you because you're big and just receivers.

They are big receivers Megadron, DK Metcalf guys like that.

But I mean, have you always like been this big and a receiver and fast?

Speaker 5

I was always in that like middle ground wild playing receiver running back, and coaches were kind of like not sure which one.

Speaker 4

I'd be at more.

Speaker 5

But yeah, I've definitely grown into my into my body a little bit more throughout college.

Started college, I won ninety ended up my last few years being about two fifteen to two.

Speaker 3

Twenty to where I'm at.

Yeah, I was chatting with O'Connell a couple of days ago and we were talking about you, and I'm like, you know, and this may seem so remedial and like basic or whatever, but you know what somebody does in a preseason or in practice or in training camp, well, the regular season is different and the pressure is different everything.

And I'm like, wow, it's just cool to see Zay make guys miss slide after he catches it is are like even the most basic things are they just do you feel like they're starting to come together when you get opportunity.

Speaker 5

I feel like I had a good foundation before, you know, the right before this time really came.

That once it came, it just feels normal, feels natural, like uh, And there's things always to improve on within that foundation to make sure there's no cracks, uh.

But I think that the hands with the right way before and the foundation set.

Speaker 3

What what do you genuinely enjoy about being in Minnesota Viking and your current role or say Aaron's back and it's Aaron and Aaron and Jordan, you know, and say you're inactive or you're active, What do you genuinely enjoy about the whole thing?

Speaker 5

I enjoy it is just the camaraderie the team, this the team in general.

Man, I think it's a special group, special special atmosphere, and no matter what role you play, it's out.

Speaker 4

They're all valued.

Speaker 5

And whether it be a practice swag guy like I like I was last year, it's valued.

Or if it's an active guy, inactive guy, whatever it is, there's value there.

And that's something that I really appreciate about this organization.

And I value everybody top to bottom in this organization.

And there's just some some amazing people, great hearts throughout it, throughout the organization.

Speaker 3

When when you're when you're on the practice squad and you're running scout team, So in essence, like say this week, if it was last year, you could be Judkins or you could be Samson.

What's key about a role for practice squad guys doing that?

Speaker 4

Yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 5

Actually I last year for me, at least, I would look at the guys that you know we're going against, whether that be.

Speaker 4

The Montgomery's, the.

Speaker 5

James Connor like those different guys throughout the league, and try to mimic their game to the best of my ability that week for the defense to give them a realistic looking from all the way to their stances, Like some guys are a little higher in their stances, some guys are super low.

Speaker 4

In their stances.

Speaker 5

Some guys are more speedback, some guys are more cutbacks, some guys are just different types of game that each each.

Speaker 3

Guy plays with.

Speaker 5

So I tried to be intentional with that as a practice squad guy left.

Speaker 3

So so you'll watch them and try to emulate almost exactly what they do.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's the to the best of my ability, because that's that's how you get the team ready.

And I feel I took part.

Speaker 5

In, you know, the when we would win, when we would lose, I would feel like I could have did better being on practice squad.

You know, I could have gave them a better look throughout the week to prepare for that.

And I think that's the mindset you have to go into it with, regardless of your role.

Speaker 3

All right, Jay, So so like last year, so you got to emulate Jimi or Gabbs.

Does that mean you have to stand straight up?

Speaker 4

Like we can find film they're all standing straight up?

Speaker 5

You could, And then when I would have when they would tell me I'm Montgomery, I would get in the different stands one hundred percent.

Speaker 4

We can go back and find film one hundred percent did that?

Speaker 3

Yeah, last one.

You and I last year and then now more this year have become closer via our Christian faith?

Why why?

Why is that so important to you?

Speaker 5

And this last game was a huge testament to that.

If I'm being honest, the team took really good care of us physical, with the physical aspect of things last week.

And there's some things I was I was dealing with going into the game, and uh, and I was just praying God.

I was like, not by my not by power or by power, by your spirit.

Speaker 4

It's the only wealth able to do that.

Speaker 5

Have this game, play this game, and man, and by the grace of God, I was able to play and play well and not have to when I was out in the field, I wasn't feeling any of the things I was feeling outside of the time.

So that's little things like that is why it means so much to me.

And I know that's the first time you've heard it, but that was that's.

Speaker 4

A huge testimony.

Speaker 6

Man.

Speaker 5

I just I can't think God enough of my prayer was that I'd have the chance to share that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, And it just further personifies that as the Gospel would teach.

Sure, we love God, but it's how much He loves us more so than any way we can think we can possibly love him.

Right.

Speaker 5

Yeah, and you see it day in day out.

I mean we see his mercies of new every morning the sun rises.

There's amazing people are all around us, like regardless of our what, we what, we believe, it's beautiful hearts, beautiful souls within every person.

Speaker 4

And God did that for a reason.

Speaker 1

That's running back Zay Scott with PA earlier this morning, and and following his chat with the running back, he caught up with cornerback Byron Murphy Jr.

Speaker 3

So, So, have you ever picked off a left handed quarterback?

Speaker 2

I believe so.

Speaker 6

Wow, I believe I have, and obviously I gotta do it again.

But yeah, if I could take it back to memories, I gotta really think about that.

Speaker 3

Wow, I actually don't know all that.

That's gonna be unbelievable.

Speaker 4

I think lefty quarterback.

Speaker 3

You helped me out.

No, I can't, but because I didn't look through all your interceptions to see if there are any lefties, then we can go back to college and stuff like that.

But does the ball It's a weird question, man, with the left handed quarterback does does the ball come out different?

Like do you got the spin and everything?

Speaker 6

I think I want to say it's too much of a difference, but obviously I feel like left handed quarterbacks do have a little bit more like speed, I would say, velocity on the ball.

I'm obviously watching his film, Dylan, He's definitely can make throws from you know, from the from the boundary to the field outrouts and all that.

So he definitely has a strength.

He has a big arm, So I think left to just you know, have more velocity on the ball.

Speaker 3

So in what's known as a cop we had a league when when you see Rogers bam bam bam, quick, bam bam bam quick, do do do teams generally like think they can pick up on something and try to emulate that the next game.

Speaker 6

Yeah, I definitely feel like, you know, each team comes with a different game plan against our defense.

They always come in with a different game plan.

The obviously we kind of see on film, but as we know, obviously playing a couple of games now, teams are definitely trying to you know, quick game, get the ball out fast.

I think the time coach Hatt told us is like one second or something like that.

Speaker 3

So we know they're trying to get the ball out.

Obviously a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 6

Coming in, they're probably trying to keep the game playing simple, get the ball out quick and obviously you know pick off what happened last.

Speaker 3

Week now now rush and coverage meshing obviously is ten to ten important.

But you guys, this year, third and six and longer all right?

As the defense, I think two first downs against twenty four times not first downs?

What do you think the keys are to that third and six are longer?

You guys are number one in the league.

I just think those are the downs we were locked in.

Third downs is something we always you know, we practice, we always all the dbs, you know, we take that our hands and to go out there and do what we have to do on third down and good you know obviously to get offense to ball, but third down something we just always lock in on for sure.

So with with Dylan Gabriel, when you only have a handful of snaps to look at, you know, I know, like talking to coaches, they'll say, scheme first, player second.

I get that, but how do you handle that when somebody is barely played.

Speaker 6

I think obviously trying to get the ball and you know, his playmaker's hands.

Obviously they got guys on the outside, Judy.

Speaker 3

Those guys good good running.

Speaker 6

Back, other receivers as well, So I just feel like it's obviously that's the scheme.

Speaker 3

Obviously you got to go with the scheme.

Speaker 6

But it's obviously getting your best players at all, and obviously as a rookie quarterback, you're trying to you know, I'm not saying force anything to your best player, but you're gonna definitely give them more targets than usual.

Speaker 3

All Right, so we're four into it.

How do you think your season's going so far?

Great?

Speaker 6

Obviously we got some you know stuff that you know, make up.

We're not where we want to be as a defense, as a team, but obviously you got to take a game by game and this week we're just focused on being one another and going from there.

Speaker 3

Bier Murphy's our guest couple of quickis to close here Judkins, they're running back again, not much experience, but it looks like he has a chance to be decent.

Speaker 6

Definitely, I watched a fielm great running back, runs runs hard, so you gotta definitely go out there and tackle him, make sure we stop that yards as well, stop the run and get everything else going.

Speaker 3

And then you being a bona fide team leader, you know, and human nature gets to win, okay, if you let it win.

That's what I'm getting at here.

You know, by the time they play this game, you're gonna have been in Europe a week and a half.

You got the buye after that, so you're a team leader.

You know.

What I'm saying here is like human nature cannot creep in at this stage.

Speaker 6

Right, definitely can.

Obviously we can't focus on the bye week.

We got to take care.

We came here for a next business so and obviously we already have the mindset we're not leaving here without a win.

So that's what's gonna have to be.

So we have no choice about their show up.

Obviously we'll get the win.

And obviously going to the bye we that's gonna come.

That's when we get time to rest.

Speaker 3

Let's go.

Speaker 6

You know, I'll play our hard, so I'm go put it all on the line.

Speaker 3

You're fantastic, Thank you, so.

Speaker 4

I appreciate you.

Speaker 1

Byron Murphy Junior with PA out London Way and we're gonna check back in with the host.

Final segment nine to noon is next final segment nine to noon, and we're gonna jump right on back out to London.

Here Pa on site on scene, Final segment nine to noon, I believe with a special guest.

Speaker 2

What up, Pa?

Speaker 3

Indeed, thank you Nords.

It's Paully Walling.

It's Paul Martin, director of Team Operations.

If we travel internationally, it's mandatory to have Paul or a part of the staff.

Chad Lundein is the vice president of Operations, and Chuck Peterson, Senior manager of Team Operations malam Burgess team Operations manager, and and and Paul has been a friend of mine for more than a couple of decades.

And you know, this is an unprecedented journey.

So let's begin here.

How's the heart.

Speaker 7

I'm hanging in there.

I think most of the time when I sit down with you, I've got a few espressos in front of me, and I haven't slept in thirty six hours.

But this is definitely a little bit different.

I feel a little bit better.

Speaker 3

Good.

Yeah, well, we're in the second half now, so you know, being director of Team Operations, and again, you know, Chad vice president Operations and Facility.

These Chad Chuck and Milan plus so many others do so much work to make the engine go.

And it's not just for home games or road games, but this is the first multi country back to back scenario for a National Football League team, And you know, whether it's working with equipment or that, there are just so many more entities that make this go.

Speaker 7

Like who yeah, I mean that's you know, certainly.

Something I wanted to point out is there's a lot of talented people that are behind the scenes here, from our equipment staff, our medical staff, our video it, you know, nutrition things like that.

You know, all of us have to work in conjunction to make sure that, you know, these trips go as smoothly as possible.

Players feel like, you know, there's not major disruptions.

We can prepare for a game like we would anywhere else.

Speaker 3

So so having been at this manner multiple times now and then playing at Tottenham Hotspur for a third time, I mean that's an advantage, right, I mean, it's knowing kind of what's coming at you is major here, right yeah.

Speaker 7

I mean certainly more of my attention was focused on Dublin, you know, being the first time, not only for US, but for any NFL team.

You know, the history and the experience we have with the staff here, with the grounds here, you know, having a practice field on site, all of those things are you know a nice you know, feathering the cap as you're working through months of planning.

Speaker 3

So with two countries, what are unique challenges like that?

Go well, first and foremost Dublin.

It's the first time for anybody, so start there, But like, what are some unique challenges compared to a road trip where you land in Appleton?

Speaker 7

Yeah, I mean starting with Dublin.

The number one thing is, you know, any sports teams or programs that they have come through there, they are not coming through at the size and you know the numbers that we had, you know, pushing two hundred people m over there.

They're used to you know, their soccer groups and things like that that are forty fIF sixty people.

Speaker 3

So you know, just to.

Speaker 7

Sheer numbers was number one.

And then just you know, we have a different program.

You know, the meetings that we have, the meals and the size of the menus, and you know the ins and outs of traveling to practice and you know, to walk throughout the stadium and things like that they just don't see with some of the other groups.

And then you know, kind of the biggest thing that was on my mind for you know, basically since day one, was the transition from Dublin to London.

You know, not only flying our people here, but you know, we've got suitcases full of eleven days where the clothes and thirty seven thousand pounds of equipment that was needed for you know, all the practices and the games and things like that.

So you know, to make it here Monday evening and to be thirty minutes ahead of schedule, yeah, I couldn't been happy.

Speaker 3

Well, I'm just laughing because I mean, whether it's texting talking to you, it's to see you relaxed is fantastic because I you know, I don't know exactly what goes into this, but I know that that has been a lot for not only weeks, but months up to it.

And the double im portion of the equation went perfectly.

So I mean, you know, to get in there, have things go well.

Sadly, the team didn't win, but then to get to London, like you said, I mean that ain't easy, but it seemed to go well.

Now I mentioned the name Chuck Peterson, Senior manager of team Operations.

See between you, Chad and Milan.

I think Chuck has an enviable role.

And here's why, because he gets to be out of practice and like catch passes and throw passes and snap and do a bunch and like play catch and so like like why does he get to do that?

You think Milan can run routes.

Speaker 7

Yeah, she's up there too.

Honestly, I kind of mentioned it earlier.

But practice is like my peaceful time to you know, be back in the officer, back in the hotel and just kind of regroup and you know, figure out the rest of the day and once ahead of us.

So you know, I know they enjoy it.

I'm happy to let them do it.

Yeah, I am just fine with the role that I have.

Speaker 3

Where I'm You're Minnesota, Like, where'd you go to high school?

Where'd you go to college?

Speaker 7

Little Falls is my hometown?

And University of Minnesota Morris right on?

Speaker 3

At University of Minnesota, Morris, did you want to get into pro sports operations?

And you know, was there ever a time where you thought you'd be putting together a Dublin to London trip?

Speaker 7

No, definitely did not have that on my list of to dos when I was twenty years old.

But yeah, actually that's kind of where it started.

We didn't have the sports management program when I arrived, and my class kind of helped build it, I guess you could say.

And we were the first graduating class with a sports managing degree there.

So that's kind of where it started.

Speaker 3

With the with the team meals, you know, breakfast, snack, launch, dinner, the whole thing.

I mean, it's A plus service and accommodations.

Does the team have a say in the food or is it what they offer here at Hanbury Manor or previously at the Shelbourne Shellburn Shelbourne.

Speaker 7

Yeah, it's one hundred percent of the team's choice, it is.

And you know, we do like to go with a little bit of the local fair, whether it's abroad or even in the States.

If we're in Louisiana, we're gonna, you know, go that direction.

So we definitely have a lot to say.

Speaker 3
