In this episode, we're talking about chapter two of A Memory of Light.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Chapter two is the choice of a naja.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

So, now do you think it's a love connection?

Speaker 1

I still, I'm pretty sure it's not a love connection.

Speaker 3

Oh man, it's more like an anger connection.

Well, you know, anger crated frustration can turn to love very quickly.

I just don't see why you're so against it.

Speaker 2

I just that's not what this is.

Speaker 1

I and I'm kind of mad that you keep kind of towards thinking it's a love It's not.

Speaker 2

Okay, okay, okay, no, it's fine.

I just wanted to because it's you know, things happen this chapter.

Speaker 1

Yes, yeah, it's a roller coaster of emotion, a little bit angry and then yeah yeah.

Speaker 2

Also, like for the record, things are going horribly for them, and we'll talk about that so bad.

It's going very badly, and it's getting worse as we continue.

Speaker 1

I'll give you some predictions, okay at the end.

Speaker 2

Okay, okay, that's that's right.

So for the fun fact, I figured we should talk about some a Memory of Light release drama a little bit.

I wish I love that.

Yeah for it.

I wasn't aware of any of it, and it's moderately interesting, so I learned about it on Wikipedia.

Speaker 1

Okay interesting.

Speaker 2

So Originally the book was supposed to be released around March twenty twelve, but there were several delays, and on December twenty first, twenty eleven, so be four months per Sanderson announced that A Memory Light had been finished, but at the same time said that revisions would take a good six months, so probably wouldn't be released until about fall twenty twelve.

Now.

The hardcover ended up being released January eighth, twenty thirteen, long a little bit longer.

Now.

The drama came around the fact that the ebook wasn't released until April eighth, twenty thirteen.

WHOA got a wait four months?

Now?

Like I said, I didn't know about any of this time of the time, and it's according to Wikipedia, so I don't know how accurate it is.

But apparently there was a very strong negative reaction because Tor delayed the release of the ebook, and the negative reaction included review bombing the book on Amazon and on other websites.

So I'm looking forward to our book review where we look at bad book reviews and see if we can pull up some old ones maybe now.

Apparently the delay was due to Harriet, who was concerned that the book wouldn't reach the top of the best sellers lists like all the previous books had done if the purchases were divided between ebooks and hardcover books.

I don't know how that all factors into bestseller lists, but that's what it says either now.

She felt that this would harm Robert Jordan's legacy, and according to Brandon Sanderson, she had originally pushed for a one year delay for the ebook, but then Harriet later clarified her reasoning for the ebook release being delayed.

She said that the brick and Mortar bookstores had been very good to Robbert Jordan thrown his career, and they're having a hard time.

Now.

This was a chance for Robert Jordan to give back to the people who have been very good to him for twenty years by the book that was really the main reason for the windowing.

Now, Ultimately, A Memory Light did reach number one on a bunch of bestseller lists like all the others.

So it is all okay, and now we have both.

Now we have both plus audiobooks.

It's great.

Yeah everything.

Speaker 1

Oh an ebook like a Kindle, Yeah.

Speaker 2

Ebook, not an audiobook.

Yeah you were thinking an audiobook the whole day book.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that would annoy me.

Okay, Yeah, thinking back to twenty thirteen, I really liked my Cobo.

Speaker 2

Shoot, yep, okay, yeah, you get it, you get it.

Speaker 1

I do sort of get it.

I get I see both sides right right, but I also get it.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

I just want my things now, well.

Speaker 1

And I want my electronic book.

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, I get it.

Yep, Okay, all right, hence the drama.

So there you go.

Speaker 1

That's kind of interesting.

I'll take it, all right, Okay.

Chapter two is called the Choice of an Aja, and the chapter symbol is the dragons thing, which I have a bit of a feeling we're gonna see a lot in this book the.

Speaker 2

Dragons Fang or the dragons Fang.

Okay, okay, gotta remember that one for the.

Speaker 1

I gotta remember it.

Yeah, I already forgot chapter two.

Speaker 2

Yeah, what happened?

Speaker 1

No, the symbol?

Speaker 2

Oh, I mean this is just start two Dragon's Fang.

Speaker 1

Chapter one.

I met Man.

Speaker 2

Well that was chapter one.

It was probably Will and Stag statistically, but it wasn't.

It was the tree.

Speaker 1

Tree right right, right, because the prologue was the Wheel and Stak exactly all right anyway, Okay, Pavara perspective.

Yeah, back with Androl were inside the cabin, and she does not like the situation she's in.

Is just the two of them.

He's still working on his saddle because that's all he.

Speaker 2

Does, leather working.

Yeap, keeps his mind, I don't know, off of other things.

Well, something to do?

Why are you so focused on this saddle?

Speaker 4

Man?

Speaker 1

So focused?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 1

Now it's super raining.

We also get that there was a bubble of evil earlier.

Speaker 2

In the week.

Speaker 1

Yeah, people just burst into flames.

Speaker 2

Yep.

Yeah, allegedly they were thinking maybe uh Asha Man who went.

Speaker 1

Crazy who was lighting people on fire?

Speaker 2

But then they were all like, no feeling signs of that.

Yeah, we know bubbles of evil, and this definitely seems like a bubble of evil.

They don't know bubbles evil like we know them, right, So I understand why they're like, oh, maybe crazy Ashman.

Speaker 1

Oh I would think that too.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's fine, totally fair.

Speaker 1

Now the other thing is that I know you're gonna glaze over and I'm not going to glaze over it.

Ghosts.

Speaker 2

Wow, okay.

Yeah, So they're like talking and then they're.

Speaker 1

Like, oh my god, look at those people walking who aren't getting wet.

Speaker 2

He's not getting wet at all in the rain.

Is just like passing right through them as if they were a ghost, as.

Speaker 1

If they were ghosts.

Speaker 2

It turns out ghosts their ghosts.

Speaker 1

But that's it.

They're not doing anything.

Speaker 2

Well, one of them, I don't know if you noticed, but one of them I think was like pulling as if he had a horse.

But there's no ghost horse.

There isn't, which is interesting.

So do you think that like.

Speaker 1

No ghost horse exists, right.

Speaker 2

That's the question, that's the main question here.

Speaker 1

Probably not on the same timeline as the ghost humans, right, but the ghost horse might be like somewhere else, okay.

Speaker 2

Or maybe we just can't see the ghost.

Can the ghost see the ghost horse?

Speaker 1

Yes?

Speaker 2

Does the ghost think he's actually pulling off?

Does the ghost a ghost?

We don't have enough information here, and we're really glazing over this good point.

It was ghosts spooky, but you know it's it's fine, they're just walking.

Speaker 1

I just wanted to talk about it, okay.

Speaker 2

Okay, all right, So what they're talking about though, just as a side note before the soudly interrupted by the ghosts.

So Androl is starting to work on a plan sort of about escaping, and she's like, hey, can we talk about that plan?

And I barely barely have the beginnings of a plan, so like, sure, I'm open to suggestions.

Speaker 1

I don't even have a plug.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Good, that's a good one.

Okay, all right, so let's get back to the plan that Pavara is going to add notes to.

Speaker 1

Okay, So she points out that Taime's focus has been on the ice at ee right, and now she's the only one remaining hasn't been turned.

Yeah, so what will that's a problem.

Speaker 2

Jump in the mystery man and get the ship.

Speaker 1

Hey, yeah, oh my god, this is real bad.

Speaker 2

So also, I feel like we didn't get enough prep that, like all the other ice that I have been turned yeah, because it was like, oh that one and then the other, and now it's like, now that's all of them, that's.

Speaker 1

All there was.

Speaker 2

It seems like, oh boy.

Speaker 1

Okay, okay, here's confirmation.

She's the only one left.

They are going to come for her at some point.

But you know what is working.

It sounds like they're traveling in twos, is it, though, Well, she hasn't been caught yet and neither has hit he and they're in two's.

Speaker 2

That's true.

He's literally the weakest asher man.

It's in the tower.

Speaker 1

And now is this a continuation of like the same night as the last time, or is this like maybe a couple nights later.

Speaker 2

It's a good question, that's a good question.

It was raining last time.

They were like, whoa, it's raining a lot, And here it's also it's raining a lot, and they're like, okay, it's raining a lot.

Speaker 1

Maybe it's the night night and it's still raining.

Speaker 2

Maybe, which is why they're like, oh is it unnatural?

Timeline's a little bit wonky here.

We don't have a really good answer for you here.

Speaker 1

Okay, I don't know how much that actually matters.

Speaker 2

Yeah, either way, she is gonna be bait.

But Andrel's like no, and then she's like, I'm not a damsel in distress.

I can be bait.

Yeah that's fine.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but Andrew's like, nah, let's sneak you out.

This isn't your fight to fight, and she's like, that's or you're wrong.

Everything's my fight.

Speaker 2

I decided that I'm gonna be taking care of all of you.

And he's like, what do you mean by that?

And he's like, oh, I shouldn't have said that out loud, but yeah, no she does.

She's taking responsibility.

And that's the entire point that we're talking about, Like, no, this isn't you.

You aren't involved here this, you shouldn't even be here.

Speaker 1

Shortage yourself into a situation.

Yeah, that really wasn't yours to deal with at all.

Speaker 2

Yeah, So okay, this was why I was asking, like, how do you feel about the relationship prior to the bonding that we're gonna skin a second here, because there is definitely some back and forth.

I don't know how friendly or not friendly you want to call it.

However, he at one point says, oh, I didn't know.

I said, I could even be sarcastic.

And she's like, you don't know very much about I said, I like, there it does.

I don't know if I'm just reading into it like it feels.

I think she's trying to.

Speaker 1

I think that she's just trying really hard to pretend that she's feeling comfortable, okay, because we're in her head.

Yeah, and it's very clear that she's very uncomfortable, and.

Speaker 2

She does think I am trying to be not uncomfortable, but I am very uncomfortable.

This is the worst.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Usually when there's like flirtation, yeah, and love connection, Yeah, one of the parties isn't consistently thinking I'm so uncomfortable.

Speaker 2

Yeah maybe no, just okay, I was just saying.

Now, Andrel has done a lot of crazy things in his life.

We get just like more little tidbits of backstory because.

Speaker 1

Has jumped off He.

Speaker 2

Has jumped off cliffs.

It's called cliff diving, and the sea folks do it and it's super cool cliff jumping diving.

Speaker 1

It's only if you die.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Okay, I think, wait, what did he do jumping?

He did jumping.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and the higher the cliff you pick, the cooler.

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, we know that that's obvious.

Okay, So Povar says that she's no, like okay, like no, definitely, no, like maybe maybe like five to ten feet.

Maybe it might have seemed like ten feet.

It's probably like three feet.

No.

I don't like heights, and I don't like falling, and I can't swim very well.

There's a lot of the reasons.

Well, there's a lot of reasons why that's not like a thing that I want to do.

And I cliff jumped that.

I believe like that.

I believe not.

Speaker 1

That high though, yeah, like it's not so high that you're like whoa, Yeah, I bet Spencer would jump off a cliff higher than me.

She's way cooler than me.

Speaker 2

Probably, Yeah, I can believe that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, i'd say, like five meters.

Speaker 2

You would like fall off a cliff unintentionally.

Of all the things that I could see you doing, that's like a real possible excaries me.

Speaker 1

And I don't like that very much.

Speaker 2

No, thank you, Okay, Yeah, no, I like try not to.

Yeah, obviously that's rude.

Have you met you?

Okay, Okay, back to it, back to it.

Pavar's accept the responsibility.

She says, the Black Tower needs guidance, and surely you must admit that the value of the White Towers experience blah blah blah blah blah.

And he's like, yeah, actually, no, I don't really know if I'm gonna say that the White Towers experience is valuable.

Speaker 1

Remember how last time we talked, I literally told you that your experience is worthless to me.

Same thing.

Yeah, No, don't like, opinion hasn't changed, donated, don't want experience.

Studying history and how to rule over leaders in the world isn't helpful.

Speaker 2

Here, Yeah, not even a little bit here.

Oh no, okay, So this conversation leads to the debate about the future existence of the right ad job.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because we're interested in that.

Speaker 2

Basically, there's two schools of thought.

Speaker 1

Well, the reds are doomed, right because they exist to hunt done men who can channel.

But now the source is cleansed.

Andvar's like says.

Speaker 2

You, yeah, like how do you prove that?

I don't know if I don't even believe that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, And then he just keeps going, Yeah, reds have two choices.

They can either continue to have men who can channel and ignore the proof that they've been given that the source is cleansed, or they can just give up being Reds and choose another.

Speaker 2

AZA yeah, or option yeah, Okay, you want to.

Speaker 1

Hear my third option that I thought he was actually gonna say, Yeah, pick a new specialty for the Reds.

Speaker 2

Yeah, like shift the purpose, shift the purpose.

Yeah, and arguably you should shift the purpose of all the ajas, not just like not just picking on the Reds here.

We could do a huge shift overhaul of the entire White Tower and what everybody's doing, because all of it is not super great.

Based on what you've told me, your AJA goal is right.

And we've had this discussion many times many okay, now many, Yeah, So how do you feel about the Androl side of things?

First off, Like, do you think there's a valid argument what you're saying.

Speaker 1

I'm team Adrel in all of this, everything that happens in this perspective.

I'm just gonna lay that out here.

Speaker 2

Now, you're not defending Bavar at all, not at akay, Well, one of us is going to have to do it.

Okay.

So still Pavar is pointing out that there's some nuance to the reds position blah blah blah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because she's like, I actually don't hate men, only some of us do.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

It's like, well, okay, like you're the exception, Pavar, because we've seen a bunch of red Adja perspectives and most of them are not like you.

Speaker 1

No, they all suck and they're mostly where all the black ouges come from.

Speaker 2

Exactly, super super easy to high black aja in that.

Yeah, super okay.

Now, Pavar mentions that ultimately the goal isn't too like gentle men, it's to prevent men from hurting themselves and other people.

And that's what the goal the Black Tower should be.

We're basically the same.

It's like, okay, well also not really, she's being very idealistic, as idealistic as andrel is about the Black Tower because he also, I would.

Speaker 1

Agree with that.

And people sure do love to make up, right, all sorts of excuses, Yeah, to make themselves feel better about what they're doing.

Yeah, So my purpose here is to save people.

That's why I have to hurt people.

Speaker 2

Exactly, just the crazy ones, the crazy ones.

Speaker 1

Okay, just hurt the crazy ones.

There, you go, save the ones who aren't crazy.

Speaker 2

Yeah, So he makes a couple of good points.

Just because the thing needs to be done doesn't mean that the one doing it is your friend.

And everyone's starting to get heated, so we gotta we gotta tone it back a little bit here.

So Bavar is gonna start throwing in some personal questions to build a relationship.

Speaker 1

Perfect, that's exactly how you should.

Speaker 2

Do that great segue.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and then be totally caught off guard when he asks you personal questions.

Speaker 2

Right, So, how many brothers, sisters, cousins and nineties and uncles do you have?

Yeah?

Like, no, are you just doing that to build a relationship with me?

Speaker 1

But yeah, yeah, Anyway, this whole quote, I'm engaging him in friendly conversation to prove I don't feel weird around him.

Speaker 2

To work in super grade.

Speaker 1

Basically proves no, yeah, not love connection.

Speaker 2

Even though she knows a little something about leather working and his ears like perk cop and he's like leather working, you know something about leather, I love leather.

Speaker 1

Well, he sort of medium says that.

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, no, I think that was like the oldest trick in the book.

Yeah you connect.

Speaker 1

Oh my gosh, me too.

You love that that's one thing.

I also have something about my.

Speaker 2

Uncle from one hundred years ago also did leather working.

Yeah, oh no, but she's dead.

Speaker 1

Now I have to talk about myself.

Speaker 2

Oh no, it regrets.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Okay, so yeah, that relationship building strategy doesn't go super well.

Speaker 1

Well, I actually think it goes kind of well.

She's just mad that it flips back on her.

Speaker 2

Well, I mean, okay, so who does it go well for?

Like she's the one he's doing it.

Speaker 1

What I have to say is the strategy of using personal commonalities to connect with someone is a good one.

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

So yeah, when she says something about the leather and he's like, oh, yeah, did you do like you know, quite about a bit about that?

Tell me more And she's like, my uncle did it.

And he's like, oh, tell me more about your uncle.

Like that's actually how you build a connection and how you have yeah back and forth socially is really how a commonality that you have.

But then she's like, oh, I never wanted it to cook this far.

Speaker 2

No, but that's how you build a cop Plus they were starting to get in an argument, like a heated argument, and then she throws it in the middle.

There intersected.

It's like, if you want to do that, you do it like at the beginning and intermingle it, yeah, throughout the conversation, not just like we got to back off.

Tell me a little bit about tell me a secret that you've never told anybody else.

No, no, okay, all right now, I like this next little part here.

So he says, you know, give it to me straight.

I want you to admit that men who can channel make you uncomfortable, you hate them, same like, just like, yeah, say it and use like plain words, don't fluff it up exactly.

So ultimately she does say, yeah, it does make me uncomfortable.

But I like this point because she adds the nuance to it.

So she says, however, I feel that way because it's been ingrained in me over my entire life, and what you do is terribly unnatural, and you, yourself ANDROL don't disgust me.

And I'm trying to look past my upbringing to work together with you.

So at the heart of it, I really do agree with what she's saying.

Not only has it been ingrained in everybody in Randland that men channeling is bad and dangerous, there is a legitimate reason for that prejudice, because they functionally go insane from a magical madness.

Like there's an actual, real reason for it, and it wasn't just like some men.

It wasn't half of men and the other half of it's literally percent.

And if you didn't it's because you swore to the dark one, Like, that's the only reason you don't go mad is because also apparently not great.

Yeah, so there is this huge stigma, but I understand the reason for it, and I also understand that it would be hard to honest like switch and say, Okay, it's the tants cleansed.

Speaker 1

Now, it's fine.

Speaker 2

The guys who are crazy are telling me they're not crazy.

It's fine.

Cool, believe them, We're good.

Get like, I get that.

Yeah.

Speaker 1

So she's like, I'm gonna need more proof, right, and he goes off, I was a great idea, some way to show you, I know, let's figure out how to link and form a circle.

So now rewind back to a couple other I said, eye, Yeah, who had linked with men when the taint wasn't cleansed before, over around round.

Then the tank gets cleansed, they link with those men again, and they can feel a difference in a shift.

So that is clear scientific evidence laid out on the pattern.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the control and.

Speaker 1

Then the difference to get it.

Speaker 2

Sure here telephones are don't exist here.

Speaker 1

But what I'm saying is her linking with him right now is not a way to prove that it's different for him.

He knows he had it before, and he knows it now.

She's never experienced the before, and so even when they do link now, she's like, this feels crazy.

Speaker 2

Do you know what I'm looking at?

Speaker 1

But am I supposed to know if this is tainted or not?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 1

So bad plan.

It wasn't good overall, good plan because we definitely do need to know how to link if we're going to get anywhere here, right.

I actually am pissed off that she got all freaked out and he didn't get to try the gateway because he was like, I think I can make one, and do you.

Speaker 2

Think it would actually work out?

Like he's just more powerful.

I do think you think that he can get you one like he's.

Speaker 1

Making teeny tiny ones.

Isn't he to like punch holes in the leather.

Speaker 2

We don't really know what's happening here.

Speaker 1

Okay, that's what I thought he was doing, but.

Speaker 2

Like, we don't know if that was at the same time because we haven't seen him do that since Gateway stopped working.

Speaker 1

Oh I thought he was still doing it just a little bit.

Speaker 2

But busy just stitching stuff right now, Okay.

Speaker 1

Anyway I want it.

He was like, I think I can try, right, and she's like, no, that's stupid.

Stop linking with me.

Speaker 2

Yeah, okay, all right, so let's get let's get back to Okay, So we do agree that we're going to try to form a circle.

And Pavara has read some books about linking in preparation for this journey, so that's learned.

Speaker 1

Last perspective, he hasn't even heard of what this is, right, this is brand new information.

Speaker 2

Can I give you like a real life scenario here about like how I feel that I agree with what they're saying here?

Speaker 1

Sure?

Speaker 2

So, because then I will give you We just got our new camper, like a little camper here to go camping, and I got.

Speaker 1

Experience something to learn it.

Speaker 2

I've tried to watch so many YouTube videos on like how this thing friggin works, and until I'm actually doing it, it's all it's all theory and hypothetical, like you're explaining it to his person who doesn't know any of this stuff.

Speaker 1

Yep.

Speaker 2

And that's how I feel that they must feel the same way.

We're going through the exact same thing in our lives.

Yeah, you gotta do it to other people and us.

Mm so they're like, I've read books, let's try and figure it out.

And then it goes badly?

Speaker 1

What only goes badly because she freaks out?

Speaker 2

I mean, yeah, and if she wasn't such a control freaking no no no, but she brings it back to like, you know, the trauma, the trauma she's been through.

Come on, don't know?

No, no, no, no, okay, so.

Speaker 1

Like what did she she knew exactly she knew?

Speaker 2

Just gave you the the Camper analogy.

Speaker 1

I know, she freaks out after this happens, so okay, bring us back.

Speaker 2

Okay.

So they do the process.

They link and he has to be in control and he seizes the power from her because that's how men embrace this power.

Speaker 1

He's only linked with women who she basically like gives the power.

Speaker 2

And also the entire way you take it nicely, yeah, yeah, and like the way and we actually got this with the RAND nine Eve cleansing is like the difference in the power the women like you have to go with the flow, let the river, take it down the river and all that.

Yeah, with men, it's like no, you grab the river by the throat and you try and choke it out because it's gonna kill you.

So it's a it's a very different mentality here.

So she's read about it, but she's not prepared.

She is trying to hold down her pants.

Speaker 1

Knows that he has to be in complete control, but that's still scary.

That's still scary, scary, and she's allow to feel uncomfortable and she's allowed to withdraw and said all of those things.

Speaker 2

Yes for sure, so she said she does.

She does.

Speaker 1

We're in this situation where it's like literal life or death and we're trying this new thing to see if maybe we can survive this crazy place.

Maybe just like take a your breath.

Speaker 2

Oh, go on, no, go on, no, no no, because then she starts panicking and remembering, like the feeling brings her back to when she learned her family was murdered by dark friends and the loss of control, and it's bad.

Speaker 1

It's like a panic attack.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it is a panic attack.

And I understand why she can't can't control the bad.

Speaker 1

So she's like, let it go.

Speaker 2

Well, let me go, she says, release me like she feels like she is, and it's it's not great, it's not good.

It's not paying attention though, so it.

Speaker 1

Doesn't notice, so that's hard.

This is bad.

She's like, no, no, no, let me go, now, let me go, And then he realizes and immediately lets it go.

So excellent points points on both sides.

Asking for what you need.

Speaker 2

Yeah, realizing the thing about this situation, like I there doesn't have to be like a good guy and a bad guy.

It's just like, no, I'm just giving.

Like a bunch of bad decisions made.

Speaker 1

Some morality points here, and there were about to.

Speaker 2

Lose some for everybody, I think, for every one.

Everyone makes bad decisions this chapter.

Yeah, there were a lot of bad decisions that led to other bad decisions that resulted in bad decisions.

Speaker 1

Though that practicing a circle is a bad decision, sure, And I don't necessarily think that bonding each other is a bad decision.

I think that there should have been a conversation a while ago now about this bonding situation, right right, I actually was thinking at the beginning of this chapter they should bond, and then I was like, oh, maybe that's why Brett was asking if there's a love connection, maybe they're gonna bond.

And then I'm so annoyed that and then I can't predict it because I read it, yeah and thought it before it happened, I promise, Yeah, but anyway.

Speaker 2

We all believe you.

Speaker 1

I didn't think it happened quite like this.

So just like so much non consensual bonding going on.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so it's not good.

So andro mols Is he lets go, and then without thinking Bivar lashes out and she's like this is never gonna happen again.

I'm not going to lose control.

And then she bonds him and then he's like no, my god, yeah, what have you done?

And then Pivar uses the times that we could pick any one of you, and then he's like, time's a monster, and you know that what are you talking about?

That's not No is bad?

Okay, so it's all bad.

It's all bad, and I.

Speaker 1

Was like, no, that's the worst.

You suck.

I hate this because at first I was like, oh no, I'm feeling bad for her.

She's chopped in this situation where she feels super vulnerable.

She's feeling out of control, and even though she was prepared to feel like control, she doesn't like the feeling of it.

Whatever.

Speaker 2

Whatever.

Speaker 1

Yeah, she doesn't let him try the magic which could save them and get them out of here, which a part of me thought would happen here, right, A part of me thought that she would be like, I don't like this, but then hold out and then he's like.

Speaker 2

Does everybody feel like this?

Speaker 1

This is amazing?

Right?

I feel like I could gateway?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And then she's like, no, let me go, and I'm like, this is your way out.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I actually thought that maybe he was just gonna.

Speaker 2

Like, poof a gateway, let's get it, let's give it a go, let's try, and then we get through.

Speaker 1

And then he like, let's her go, you know, like something right right doesn't happen.

Speaker 2

That doesn't happen, so he let's go.

Speaker 1

She immediately lashes out and bonds him without quote, without thinking.

However, she very specifically thinks, I'm bonding you.

Speaker 2

I'm never gonna let this happen again.

I will have control.

Yeah, So she.

Speaker 1

Yeah, bonds him, Yeah, bonds them, okay, against his will and and then he is like bye, bitch, back at you got you.

So she feels something strange happened to her.

Speaker 2

What's happening.

Speaker 1

Turns out Angel's like, well, I saw the others do it.

Yeah, some ASTERMN bond their wives.

And she's like, you bonded me?

Speaker 2

What?

Speaker 1

And then they were sort of like, oh, I thought this might cancel it out, like you wonded me, I bonded you.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

No, it turns out the man to the woman bond is different from the woman to the man bond.

Yeah, and they can feel them both.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so this is interesting.

So we get a note that there's like an awareness and she can even understand some of what he's thinking, like not actual thoughts, but there's impressions of it.

So it's just definitely okay.

So here's a question if we could bond, Yeah, would you do it?

No?

I appreciate that.

Do you want to be in my head and me in your head all the time?

No?

Speaker 1

No?

Maybe hmm.

Speaker 2

Now it gets more complicated.

Okay, that's the tricky part, right, Like the entire concept even with like men and the ladies all bonding, it's like, do we want to have this?

No?

Them Okay, okay, against that, what about the whole Alana and Ran bonding terrible?

Notably?

Can I, just like, for the record, say that having a water bond is actually a really useful tool for not just like Angel, but for Rand.

Speaker 1

Can I tell you that a super useful tool is working out and eating right?

Speaker 2

Water bond is a magical book?

Speaker 1

Get in good sleep?

Speaker 2

Right?

Are you talking to me specifically right now?

Woa, hey, come on out.

I'm just saying shots fired in the podcast area.

Speaker 1

You can't we both of us, let's and for everyone.

Let's be real.

There are things in our life that are really good for us and would make our lives better.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

But if one is magic and I don't have to do anything, I'm gonna do that one.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but you have to decide to do it.

Mmm.

Speaker 2

See.

But I shouldn't be trusted with my own decisions because I agree with it.

I make bad decisions.

Agree shouldn't be responsible for that.

Speaker 1

But you are.

Speaker 2

And I'm sorry, don't like that.

Speaker 1

Sorry about that.

Speaker 2

I'm pretty sure when we got married it signed a form that said you were responsible for me and all my decisions going forward.

Speaker 1

No, you specifically signed the thing saying you don't own me.

Speaker 2

Right, you know you know that?

And I laughed and crossed it out.

Checkmate.

Okay.

Anyways, so they're bonded to each other.

Yeah, and they are together.

Yeah, now bondage.

Speaker 1

Well, she hates it and she's like, hey, listen, mistakes were made here tonight.

Speaker 2

And she's like, hey, you release me.

I'll release you.

Vow.

Speaker 1

I mean I said I cannot lie.

Yeah, I vow I will release you.

I will do it.

Speaker 2

You just do it first.

He's like, I don't know.

Speaker 1

And he's like, I have no idea what I just did.

I have no idea how to do that cat, And she's like, are you fucking kidding me?

Oh yeah, And I think in the end, although I was mad at her for doing this, but then it was kind of like yes, Andrew, but I.

Speaker 2

Was like, okay, you're a terrible person.

Speaker 1

Well that's rude.

I can have opinions reading a fantasy fiction book.

But now here's the thing.

I think this is actually going to be what saves them.

Speaker 2

Ooh okay.

Yeah.

And I mean we did talk like there are uses to being bonded.

We saw that at the cleansing too, Like it's useful, it's useful.

Speaker 1

You need to want to do it.

Speaker 2

The way they did it was terrible.

Yeah, And the.

Speaker 1

Fact that here we are in the last book this series and we're still doing non consensual bonding.

This so easily could have not been like this, this entire sequence.

We could have had the exact same outcome.

Yeah, with consensual bonding.

Speaker 2

Well, didn't work that way, No, I.

Speaker 1

Know, because that's not the way it was written.

But my other point is, because we're about to end this perspective in just a moment with a big reveal.

But I think this perspective and the last perspective that we had could have been one perspective that was the same length.

Speaker 2

Sure, Okay, I think that.

Speaker 1

We learned quite a bit in the last perspective and it dragged on a little.

Yeah, and this one had a lot of the same kind of back and forth, Like we establish the back and forth and then here again we have to establish the back and forth again.

Speaker 2

I don't think that's necessary.

Speaker 1

And I think this piece could have just been attached to the one we had before and then it would all just sort of roll into each other.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's fair, that's fair.

Speaker 1

But if we could have just been like listen, we're all pretty fucked here.

I'm the last I said, I standing.

I think it would be a good idea if we were connected somehow, because then we can keep each other safe, just self preservation.

Speaker 2

But you've seen the memes where it's like wal of time if people communicated effectively, and it's much shorter.

But here the book series.

Speaker 1

Week last book.

Yeah, it's the last book.

And I bet you that by the time this book is over, I'm thinking there are some things that didn't get talked about or flushed out enough.

But we're spending lots of time.

Yeah, Like, here's what I'm going to do.

I'm going to find places that could be trimmed down for places.

Speaker 2

That I want other things.

Yeah.

Yeah, wow.

Anyway, well, I got nothing to say to that.

I don't know what to tell you.

Speaker 1

I just don't think that this was necessary.

I think that it would have serted the exact same purpose for the plot had they agreed to bond each other rather than doing this.

Speaker 2

So let's move on.

Okay.

Speaker 1

Suddenly the door bangs open.

Speaker 2

Bank, Yeah, and they spin around and evans here alone, which is clearly breaking the move in pairs rule.

What are you doing?

Speaker 1

I had to come back.

Shouldn't have done that?

Did it anyway?

Speaker 2

To had to?

It's so important, very bad news.

Well in Whalen to Wellen or Whalen and as I said, I are back and he's one of Time's men.

Speaker 1

Now glazed eyes not the same.

Speaker 2

Both definitely probably turned.

Yeah, and it's very bad news because Wellen was with Logane and Evan's like Wellen is saying that Logan is gonna come back soon.

He's already met with Tayim and they've reconciled their differences and they're promising that Logan is gonna be here tomorrow to prove that everything's good.

So they basically have to admit it now that like Logan is captured and it's gonna be turned and game over.

Their whole thing is we're gonna wait till Logan gets back and maybe he can help us.

It seems like he's in trouble too.

Speaker 1

No he's not.

Speaker 2

He's not in trouble.

Nope, O caake, go on.

Speaker 1

It sounds like he's in trouble.

He's not.

Speaker 2

Does he even here?

No, he's not even here.

Well, who's gonna show up tomorrow?

Does he say?

Logan's gonna be here tomorrow be like, yeah, it's all cool.

Speaker 1

It doesn't matter.

Speaker 2

I need more than that.

Speaker 1

Maybe Logan is like things are clearly bad.

I'm gonna go talk to.

Speaker 2

Tayim okay, and then what happened?

I don't know.

But what I'm saying is Logan's fine.

He is just fine.

Speaker 1

And not only is he just fine, he's smart and he knows.

Speaker 2

And we're not worried.

I'm not worried at all.

Speaker 1

I am not worried about Logan.

Speaker 2

Okay, you know what?

Okay?

All right?

Speaker 1

I think specifically because they really want me to be concerned that Logan is a problem now, Yeah, I don't believe it, Okay, Just it feels too heavy handed.

It feels too like I don't want to take the bait.

Speaker 2

We haven't seen Logan for a long time.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm not taking it yet, Okay, I'm not.

Speaker 2

So are we getting inside Logan's head?

Are we gonna get Maybe?

Are going to definitely?

No.

Speaker 1

I don't know who's to say.

I know is that here?

It feels like they want me to believe right that all is lost in Logan is now on the bad side, and I don't want to.

Speaker 2

Believe it, okay, fair enough, too much?

Yeah, don't believe it?

Speaker 1

Okay, okay, Well that's that's the end of this perspective.

Speaker 2

Yes, yeah, so that's kind of the big reveal, cliffhanger, whatever you want to call.

Speaker 1

It here, m hm okay, le's see a quick break.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and go back to Avienda.

Speaker 1

Yeah all right, okay, so we're back, and here we are Amenda super sneaky, I yeel in case.

Speaker 2

You forgot right, it's this is not a very long perspective, but so much of it is just her thinking.

Speaker 1

About better than all the guards.

Speaker 2

Yeah yeah, and then just super snaky.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so sneaky and also really not understanding what Lander's still, yes, yeah, trying so hard to though I kind of feel bad for her, Yeah, in some instances here.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I mean I was gonna say, like, how much of this is is she actually like?

How accurate are Avienda's thoughts here on how Avienda views what Lander's like?

Speaker 1

What?

Speaker 2

Okay, you got your hand raised, go.

Speaker 1

Well, I didn't want to interrupt, but I just had a thought, Okay, going into this Avienda perspective, I think it's important for us to recognize that Avianda has not seen Elaine in a while, and Elaine has not been a queen before.

And I think that in AEEL culture, you really gotta respect the leaders.

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 1

And I think that Avianda is more concerned, less comfortable, maybe more concerned about how she's coming across to Elaine, Yeah, as she was previously when they were spending every single day together.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And it's kind of that reunion thing where she's like, oh no, did I do something wrong?

Are you mad at me?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

I like the bit apart for a minute now, So right, okay, I get that.

I get that.

Speaker 1

Okay, so let's keep that in mind.

Speaker 2

Okay, but right now, super sneak.

So the guards in quotation are watching in quotations.

Speaker 1

Okay.

So this is Avianda leaving the sweat tent, yes, where she just told all of the wise ones about her Ruitian trip.

Yes, made a gateway for Bear.

And and then she's like, I gotta go see Rand.

It's clearly first actually what she means is I gotta go see Elaine.

Speaker 2

Yes, makes sense.

Then go see Rand.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Okay, So she's going through the she's not in the and or in camp yet, she's going just through the different camps.

She passes by the outskirts of the ice Aid eye camp a water spotsor but doesn't say anything.

The IELs spot her, but they don't say anything, obviously, and the rest of the people have no idea what's going on because she's so sneaky.

Now she has heard rumors that tarlock'sive attacked camel In, and she wants to get more details from Alane, plus the other things that are very important to discuss tonight, such as rand Okay, all right, so how much do we want to duck dodge, dive, dip and dodge through this?

Do you want to just like jump?

Do you want to jump?

Because she has thoughts this entire sequence too, But it's a lot of the same.

It's like the future of the aeel.

What is this meeting that's totally gonna be happening tomorrow?

Like what is ran gonna be talking about?

Yeah, there's a bunch of unknowns and what's up with a shan chin?

Yeah?

Speaker 1

Playing ketchup?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 1

From someone else's perspective.

Speaker 2

A little bit yeah, okay, okay, lot of recap yeah, And I mean, I guess keeping in mind too that this is the beginning of a book and it's been a couple of years.

Speaker 1

Also, I do appreciate the perspective of what's going on from each character that we've seen.

That part is interesting.

Speaker 2

I do love that we're running into this situation still where it's like the meeting's going to happen tomorrow.

Totally, it's almost tomorrow, but it's not yet.

It's not yet tomorrow.

I love it because it's just we're dragging out this like hour that's been going on for.

Speaker 1

It reminds me the beginning of specs of Twilight.

Speaker 2

Yeah, but in an exciting way.

Yeah, Like wait, this place.

Speaker 1

It feels good and exciting and I like it.

Whereas every time we had to see where everybody was when they experience the cleansing, it's.

Speaker 2

Like we're going back in time.

This book actually spans over thirty minutes.

The entire book is just a thirty minute active of everybody's views.

Speaker 1

Well, the last battle happens tonight before we even have a.

Speaker 2

Meeting, that's what That's what happened.

And they actually kind of talk about that too, like maybe this is the last battle.

I don't know.

Yeah, it's done now.

One thing I do want to point out, actually I know it said we're gonna skip over it a little bit, but we're not.

So what's up with the Shanchin?

So in her visions, the Aiel didn't attack the Shanshin for a long time, but that also means the Shanchin didn't attack the Wetlanders for so long.

And we know the shan Chin are all about conquest.

So what happened that made the shan Chin back off for so long?

In the ruination?

Yeah, like they they didn't attack, they held what they held probably the last battle, the last well after the last battle is done, Like why did they not continue their conquest?

What happened?

And it's just one of those big question Mark sees Dragon's piece maybe, but it's also like I don't know, like Matt, Matt would be alive for a while, and is marriage too, I don't know.

Speaker 1

You're going to say too on and then you were going to say.

Speaker 2

For yeah, I saw that you like stock by the rights.

I know, I know, I know, I know, Okay, but that's the Thing's like, what specifically was it that kept them from moving in on the attack?

Speaker 1

So good question that I will definitely think about.

Speaker 2

Just you know, roll around in the back of your head for a little bit, I will for sure come back to it.

Speaker 1

Spend so much time thinking about that question.

Speaker 2

Yeah, okay, So now Avianna is like going through the camp, the end door in camp.

She's making her way and then she sticks your big old knife in the ground on the guard picturel scampers away and scampers away and then uses the commotion of the guards finding this big old knife in the ground to like slip into the tent.

And Elaine's clear in the middle of an important meeting right now, so she just she's just gonna hang up.

Speaker 1

They didn't notice her come in, So she's just gonna sit and pick her nails with her other knife.

Speaker 2

Trim trim her nails, picking nails with her knife.

She's trimming her nails.

Oh right, that's what you do with a knife, you trim your nails.

Speaker 1

See, I would pick my nails like I would do the thing where you scrape the dirt from underneath them, like.

Speaker 2

With a knife.

Yeah.

I could see that too.

I could see that too.

Speaker 1

Yeah that's what I pictured.

Speaker 2

Both are fine, it's just because okay, so it doesn't But when she's like, oh sorry, I shouldn't be doing this in your tent, imagining leaving nail trimmings in.

Speaker 1

Your tent dirt or something.

Yeah, yes, right, okay, So she's trying so hard not to overhear what Elene is talking about because it's not her business.

Speaker 2

But you can't help it because it can't happen.

Speaker 1

It's a good thing, because I want to know what they're talking about, right right, Okay, do you though a little?

Okay, Camelin's fallen to trollocks raand does not want Elane going back, and now I want to know what Elaine is thinking and what she's going to do.

Speaker 2

I do want to know this, all right, So do you amina?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Okay, So Elaine's talking to a couple of lords and ladies.

One of the lords is arguing Lord Leary that they have to send forces back because the capital is a symbol and the entire nation's going to collapse if we don't go and save Camelin right now.

And Elaine's like no, like, yeah, it's Camelin.

It's a very important city, but it's gone.

It's gone.

I know we're not doing that now.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I went there the outside of the walls.

Yeah, I left people there to guard it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, And like there's there's literally no strategic value for Trollus to hold the city long term, which is not a thing.

Speaker 1

So logical, yeah, and so emotionally stable of Elane.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I actually questioned the writing.

Speaker 2

Here fair enough because you think because Elane.

Speaker 1

So pregnant, well, yeah, so pregnant.

Speaker 2

That's not what I was going to say.

Speaker 1

It was going to be the pregnant, so pregnant, and everybody knows that when you're so pregnant you can't make logical decisions.

Speaker 2

That's true.

So that's true.

Yeah, too emotional.

She shouldn't even be awake right now by all means.

Oh gosh.

Speaker 1

Okay, So I was I magined by surprise when I read this and Elaine is being logical.

Well, I was going to argue no mention of her pregnancy.

Speaker 2

I was going to say that Elaine, well, this is from my v enda's perpective to you.

Okay.

So Elaine I could see being emotional and illogical in the defense of Camelin because she is so emotionally connected to Camelin the city, because she grew up there, her mama was queen, she won a succession, where like, there's a lot of reasons why she should be more emotional about.

Speaker 1

It, which I was gonna say, yeah, would be totally fair.

Yeah, and makes sense to me in the story.

But if she were overly emotional in this specific setting, yeah, it would be written it's because she's pregnant, right, which is stupid.

Speaker 2

But it didn't and it did.

It didn't get written that way.

Wasn't too emotional.

Speaker 1

She dealt with it logically, and like Amenda, I'm proud of her.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

And for the record, so far she is still pregnant and there is still time, you know, to be illogical about lots of things.

Speaker 1

So proud of Brandon Sanderson right right, for this moment.

Speaker 2

She charges in the dark friend Armies, not because she's pregnant, but because she's bad decision making sometime.

Speaker 1

Yeah mm hmmm hmm.

Speaker 2

Yeah, like she doesn't have a very good track.

Speaker 1

No, terrible, it's horrible, and I'm actually a little it's.

Speaker 2

Not because she's pregnant.

It's because she's dumb sometimes, like the.

Speaker 1

Flip flop of you being so level headed.

Speaker 2

Right now, Yeah, Actually I don't buy it.

It's she's been compelled.

It's obvious someone has cast some sort of powerful spell on her to make her think strategically.

Honestly, don't like it.

It is throwing me off a Little's great, it's great.

Speaker 1

It's a little lot of character.

Speaker 2

Okay.

So now we are going to be mounting rescue operations within the city.

Once we can like strategically figure out where civilians are going to be held by tarl X, we can gateway in get people out like we can do like strategic getting the people out.

We're not worried about the buildings, the city walls.

We're not doing that stuff, which is great now perfect.

Speaker 1

Isn't that what rand wanted said?

Speaker 2

Like, yeah, no, don't go, don't go.

Speaker 1

We can't say this.

Yeah, are we thinking that between the last time we saw Elaine and now has Ran met with Elaine that we didn't see, No, because.

Speaker 2

She gets a letter from him Charlie, Oh yeah.

Speaker 1

I don't.

But okay, okay, I'll remember it when I read it.

Speaker 2

You will.

I'm very obvious.

Okay.

So no, they definitely haven't had a conversation.

So that's when Elaine notices Avianda trimming her nails, picking her nails whatever, cleaning her nails.

Says, what in the name of a bloody ghats left stone are you doing.

Speaker 1

Such creative swears.

Speaker 2

She's adding something to the red.

Speaker 1

Elaine always has the most unique swears.

Speaker 2

She listens, she listens, and then yes, so now Avian is like, oh no, sorry, I shouldn't be you're doing here.

Speaker 1

And it's like, literally, what are you doing sitting there trimming your nail where Elaine's.

Speaker 2

Like no, no, no, and like why didn't the guards announce you?

Like, oh, they didn't see me.

It's like, wait, what you stuck through the entire camp and into my tent and you sat down and I don't even know how long you've been sitting here.

Yeah, nobody saw you.

And then we get some of the lords being like, oh, breach and security, we gotta punish people, blah blah, it's yeah.

Speaker 1

And then yet again Elaine super level headed and it's like, no, it's fine, chill out.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Also like it's not fine though, because we need to have tiger security, Like this was a huge breach in security.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Well the end is good, but they shouldn't be able to do this.

Speaker 1

I'm so glad my enemies don't have your skills.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, very much.

Speaker 1

So some of them do though, That's the thing.

Speaker 2

That's the thing too, that's why I like, literally like your guards sack and we should.

Speaker 1

Be It's like, you know what, I always thought people also should guard the back of the tent.

Speaker 2

Because it's just a freaking tent and cut through the tent.

Speaker 1

You just cut through it.

Speaker 2

I mean it's like, no, no, you're not going to ruin it perfectly good tint, Like no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1

Could you imagine how evil you'd have to be to ruin a good tent?

Speaker 2

Well, you can still go through this for you don't have to be a monster just because you're a bad guy.

Okay, got it, all right, So now we get a little like time lapse, no shooing out, oh yeah, yeah, shoeing I was thinking shushing out, oh yeah, shoeing out of the lords and ladies you get out.

Yeah, and it's just Avienda and Elaine.

Now, so now they're gonna talk a little bit about Camelin falling and Elaine kind of brings her up to speed on the fact that so they came into the waygate, and now we get a viewpoint on what the security was like around the waygate.

Speaker 1

I have to say, sucks.

Speaker 2

It was bad.

It was so specifically, Yeah, like this is a thing we.

Speaker 1

Know for one hundred percent, Yeah, that the Dark One and Dark Forces are using the waygates to transport evil monsters and do bad things.

Yes, and so what we're gonna do is we're going to close them all up and we're gonna guard them.

Cool.

But what we're actually gonna do is not just close them all up.

We're just gonna put the key that should be on the inside.

We're just gonna put it up.

Speaker 2

That's how you that's how you lock it, like we did see that.

That's how you prevent people from supposed to be being to open them on the from the inside.

Speaker 1

But we also needed to stop people from opening it from the outside.

Speaker 2

Who could suspect that they would be Dark friends in our.

Speaker 1

Ran need everybody?

Speaker 2

How would we know that everybody?

Speaker 1

Because we know that there are so many, There are so many.

You literally just got caught by a bunch of Dark Friends escaped.

Speaker 2

Yeah, okay, the palace.

For the record, these guards were ones who were not on Gabriel's side.

Doesn't during nothing.

These are like sleeper cell agents that have been waiting for the perfect opportunity.

Speaker 1

Maybe we just freaking kill them and walk up and open the gateway.

Speaker 2

Well, it's pretty sure there's a dozen traders inside that fifty guards, that's what for sure.

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Probably.

However, yeah, we also could just kill.

Speaker 2

The guards, That's true as dark friends, like one channeler, Like one channeler, I could walk up and just kill the fifty of them, and then and we.

Speaker 1

Know, oh Black Gauja exists, right, and we know Black Gaujo escaped.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they're out in the city.

Speaker 1

Yeah, why were the keys even still there?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

I would simply take them away.

I would swallow them.

Is this I would eat them so you can't use them.

Speaker 1

Is this Loyal's fault.

Speaker 2

It's a lapse in educational training on the safeguards around Waygates.

Yeah, I would say that this is so stated.

It might be it might be the stupidest thing, but also like I kind of get so dumb.

It's okay, but like, okay in a Laine's defense, it's done in a Laine's defense.

I do want to say that maybe there isn't a full understanding of what it means to defend or protect the Waygates.

Rand wasn't very explicit in his orders.

From what it seems, He's like, make sure it's guarded.

She guarded it.

She did the guarding of the thing, and we don't know anything.

It's like guard this magical portal, you.

Speaker 1

Know, who has information about it?

Whose job it was to make sure that the trolls can't get through?

Speaker 2

Loyal?

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, it's Lowe's fault.

Speaker 2

Loyal's fault.

Hate to blame the guy, but you know, at least like upset.

Speaker 1

But why the hell did we even keep the keys?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Well, because you don't want to ruin them long term.

Speaker 1

Put them in your millionaire pockets.

Speaker 2

Like loyals oil literally walking around with the whole and like I.

Speaker 1

Don't know, hie them in a vault or something, yeah, oil vaults.

Speaker 2

And then after the last battle you can go and return all the keys if you want.

Speaker 1

To, Like, why do we even need We don't need.

Speaker 2

They're cursed.

What are we doing literally don't need.

Speaker 1

We shouldn't even be traveling through them.

Speaker 2

Yeah, okay, there were a few people who could be blaming you can't.

Speaker 1

You know what I'm gonna say it, destroy the keys.

Speaker 2

Destroy the keys.

Yeah, you don't even have to open them.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you don't have to travel them anymore.

Speaker 2

We have gateways and they're scary.

Speaker 1

And then there's that also evil other thing.

Speaker 2

Happening in there, yeah, the black one thing.

Yeah, and we have gateways.

We have gateways, we have a better way to travel.

Because she thinks Elaine things like short of bricking it up or like walling it up.

It's like you should have done that.

But also that's not going to do anything against the channeler.

Nothing like a brick wall.

You gonna put a brick wall in frontother you have to take the magical keys away.

So I would find a large stone and roll it in front of the doorway.

Yeah, as you do.

Speaker 1

I didn't think this hard about it.

Yeah, read because I was like, that's dumb, and then they kept reading.

Speaker 2

I would fill up the entire area with bricks.

Speaker 1

Take the magical keys away.

Then it can't be opened at all.

Speaker 2

Maybe you can't.

Maybe they're attached to like you know at the bank, how they attached the pens to like those little like metal hook things like the strings, and you can't you can't be cut.

I know, I know they can't.

Where do you think I got all these pens.

Speaker 1

Like strings attached.

Speaker 2

A string of bag robberies in Canada?

Someone stole a bunch of the pins.

Speaker 1

When was the last time you saw a pen secured to.

Speaker 2

Something twenty eleven?

I think maybe I don't know.

Oh man, Okay, what do you need to pin for in a bank?

I don't know sign who is checks?

Speaker 1

Well, just like signing stuff.

Speaker 2

Okay, okay, all right, where were we?

Speaker 1

No?

Speaker 2

No, no, back to back to this.

Speaker 1

I just have a cup of pens.

Speaker 2

Okay, take them.

Can we get back to blaming oil for all of our problems right now?

Yeah?

All right.

So Avianna is up to speed Bergitta is currently with the soldiers outside Caitlin.

They're working on rescuing the civilians.

They're not gonna be launching an Alli attack to retake the city at this point, and Elaine talks about she will be attending Rand's meeting that is definitely happening tomorrow, and asks Avienda to come back to Andre with her afterwards, and avian is like, well, I'm a wise one now, so probably can't.

But maybe there's a way for them to work together in the future too.

Speaker 1

So, and finally Elaine's thinking clearly about what to do with all the ideal soldiers who.

Speaker 2

Maybe I should use them.

Yeah, So in the middle, in the middle of this conversation, a letter is delivered to Elaine.

That letter is from Rand, which he's going to open up shortly, and by shortly I mean now for us.

Okay.

Speaker 1

Yeah, So apparently allegedly it's insisting that she returned to Camerin to see her people mm hm, and that Rand has quote released her from her obligation to meet with him tomorrow.

Now, she immediately goes on to say, oh, that's silly Rand.

He doesn't have to use reverse psychology on me, but yes he does.

He's so smart.

Blah blah blah blah blah.

I love him so much, He's the best.

Speaker 2

What I'm actually thinking.

Speaker 1

That this letter is is a decoy letter from a dark friend who wants her to legitimately leave so she's not there at the meeting.

Speaker 2

Oh really, this doesn't sound like something Rod would say at all.

Oh, Rand was thinking of, how do I get her to stay this dumb this verse like this at all?

Maybe it is a dark friend letter, That's.

Speaker 1

What I was thinking.

Yeah, And then she's like, Haha, he's so good at Disney mar he knows me so well.

If he tells me to do something, I'm going to do the opposite.

Speaker 2

Yeah, nobody can see the face you just made.

Speaker 1

It's I'm just incredulous, Like I'm just so like, no, this is so dumb.

Speaker 2

Yeah, this is stupid.

Okay, anyway, so that's the letter, and she's like, no, obviously I'm gonna stay here, and again there is the whole conversation of.

Speaker 1

Good, that's what If this is actually from Rand?

Speaker 2

It worked, and I guess so.

Speaker 1

But she was gonna do that anyway.

Speaker 2

She was gonna say anyways, of course she's gonna be here at the meeting with all the rulers in the world.

But I understand Rand's concern also about like he really doesn't want this to fall apart.

Brand is at the last minute.

This is like the last minute meeting.

Speaker 4

Shit, like he needs everyone here but for him to write a letter hoping that Elaine is so emotionally unintelligent right that.

Speaker 2

She's going to be like the real issue is that she could be thinking anything because she's pregnant, so like, who knows, who knows?

Who knows what she's thinking.

She's a lady with his babies.

Okay, all right, anyway, I want to say though you want to, okay, say it, say it.

Speaker 1

If this is actually from Round, and it says, I release you from your obligation of having to meet with me.

You should be in Camelin.

Elaine could open this letter and be like, wow, Round is so reasonable and thoughtful.

He really has changed.

I need to go to camlin By.

Speaker 2

Seems like a win in my book.

He either gets what he wants or Elaine thinks he's an amazing, wonderful man.

Both are good for him.

He needs points.

Speaker 1

Those are bad, bad, So I just still don't believe that this letter is from Round, Like it's great that she's like, oh, Rand, he's so good at Daisy mar and knows exactly.

Speaker 2

How to sweet talk mean well.

He knows how to make her angry.

She says, same thing.

It's a drink hand.

What are you gonna do?

Yeah, okay, I get it.

Last round, I get it.

Last topic here, last topic brings up.

Speaker 1

I gotta go to Around and do him.

Speaker 2

Yeah, last battle could be tomorrow.

Speaker 1

I totally gotta have sex with him.

Speaker 2

Is that cool with you?

Speaker 1

And she's like, I'm pregnant in a whale.

I don't want to have sex with him.

Speaker 2

It's not gonna be me, it's gonna be you.

Yeah, but also have you talked him in yet, because.

Speaker 1

Like, nah, she's not a wal she's so cute, cut belly, it's great.

Yeah, ok, never mind, I take it back what I said.

I feel bad.

Speaker 2

Oh no, okay, all right, I don't know how I felt that's a pregnant.

It's because he didn't drink enough goats milk.

That's why I made you drink none goat milk.

You really really not even once?

Yeah, you didn't make me do anything.

I didn't offer it to you.

I didn't heat it up.

You heat it up.

You didn't.

Speaker 1

You didn't force me to do a single thing.

Speaker 2

I didn't carry you around on a bed, up a castle wall, I didn't nothing, nothing.

Okay.

So Elaine's like, hey, Avianda, it's cool, but let's spend some time with Min.

There's time I'll send for her.

So it seems like we have we're going, Yeah, have you hung out with her?

Speaker 1

Because she's okay and she also has to be okay with you doing him.

Speaker 2

I guess so Min gets the most loving from Rando of anybody.

Speaker 1

I would definitely say yes, she does.

Speaker 2

Well.

Speaker 1

Of course, I would say that Min and rand have the most legitimate, actual claim to a relationship yeah.

Speaker 2

Well that's how I view it too.

That's why I viewed too, because I view like Elaine as the Andoran presence and.

Speaker 1

The need right to ask Elaine if it's okay that she goes to Rand.

Yeah, then I suppose we also should talk to Min.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

But then again I'm confused because we're doing things that make sense and involve communicating.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Well it's the last book.

We got to get there at some point, right, Oh.

Speaker 1

My, okay, anyway, yeah, go ahead, probably just do them, so.

Speaker 2

There we go.

All right, hate it, So that's that's the end of this.

Speaker 1

I also love it, like, yeah, do I like where we're going?

Speaker 2

I like this because tomorrow the meeting is happening.

So it's not for sure, Well, for sure, the meeting's happening tomorrow, but when will tomorrow be?

Chapter three, Chapter four, Chapter thirty four, chapter fifty.

Who knows?

Who's to say?

Speaker 1

Not me?

Speaker 2

Maybe never, I don't know.

Speaker 1

Okay, okay, next episode one chapter Okay, Now here's what I'm waiting for.

Speaker 2

Because me to be on time with my release schedule lists.

Me too, man, me too.

Speaker 1

I'm waiting for the day you say.

The first twenty pages of the next chapter.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, that kind of thing.

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, this chapter is going to be twelve different episodes.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly, Like I don't actually know when that's gonna happen, so I'm kind.

Speaker 2

Of sitting on the edge of my seat a little sure for sure.

Speaker 1

Do I think it's happening in chapter three?

Speaker 2

No, not before this meeting, but I have been wrong before.

It's t It's true.

Speaker 1

I think it's time to wrap this up.

I am excited to read on.

I think things are going really good and I like it.

Things are going good in terms of book reading.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I was gonna say, what book are you reading?

Where?

Do you think things are going well right now?

Speaker 1

In terms of entertaining book reading, things.

Speaker 2

Are going great.

In terms of things happening to our characters, not so great, most of them.

Speaker 1

You know what, if you're cheering for time man, that guy's doing good.

Speaker 2

Thinks you're looking up for him so good.

Yeah, just got a promotion like raw rah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I use my favorite character and you also are evil.

Speaker 2

And want him to be doing really I wanted to be successful good.

Yeah, on the dark.

Speaker 1

Side, things are going good for him.

Okay, Well, before you go ahead and sneak through an entire camp just to be yelled at.

I'm gonna say this is part of the pattern.

Speaker 2

Now, yeah, it's part of the pattern.

Speaker 1
