Hello, Hello everyone, Malcolm Glawell here.

We're gearing up for an all new season of Medal of Honor coming in May, but I wanted to drop into your feeds today because it's a very special day.

National Medal of Honor Day, March twenty fifth was designated by Congress as a day of recognition and gratitude for those who have demonstrated extraordinary heroism and courage.

Today marks one hundred and sixty two years since the very first Medal of Honor was awarded to Jacob Wilson Parrot, a private from the thirty third Ohio Volunteer Infantry's Company K.

I'm celebrating the day by thinking back on some of the incredible heroes we covered in our last season, from Michael Thornton, who became a Navy seal legend, to Molly Hudgens, a guy counselor who went beyond her call of duty when faced with a potential school shooter, or my favorite episode about Henry Johnson, the reluctant hero of Oor War One who told the truth even though it cost him everything.

The reason we make this show at Pushkin is simple, Courage is contagious.

These are stories we think we all benefit from hearing, and we've got plenty more stories coming soon in our second season, stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than you or I.

From Judith Resnik, the second Woman in Space, to Daniel Day, one of only nineteen people to have won the Medal of Honor twice.
