Welcome to vlat Subject Podcast.
Our mission at Vlatimer Subject Ministries is to reach the world globally and disciple them digitally.
Let's dive into this episode.
Did you know that not everyone in heaven will receive the same reward?
Now, salvation is the same for every believer.
It's a free gift through Jesus Christ.
But the rewards in heaven are based on our faithfulness, obedience, and what we do for the Lord after we are saved.
In this video, I want to show you from the scripture that the Bible is clear that rewards will be different in eternity.
We will look at what the Bible actually teach us about the judgment seat of Christ, different crowns that believers can receive, and how our lives now will echo forever in eternity.
I really want to listen to this one.
The reason why is because these rewards in heaven or loss of them, are going to be permanent.
So while many people, you know, focus on the thief on the cross who just got saved before death, we have to as Christians not live our life just hoping to get into heaven that's already secured by Jesus.
We got to live our life in a way that brings most glory to God, and that we receive the reward that Jesus wants us to have in heaven.
So let's start from the beginning salvation versus rewards.
We're saved by grace through faith.
It's a gift we receive, it's something we don't earn.
But rewards there are not based on faith.
They are based on our works, what we do with the time, with our talents, with the truth that God gives us after we're saved.
Think of salvation as an invitation to the kingdom of God.
But the rewards are actually the honor and the responsibility that we carry within the kingdom of God.
Paul makes it very clear in the Second Corinthians, Chapter five, verse ten.
Each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
Now, the second thing that I want us to understand is there are two types of judgments in the Bible.
The first one is the Great White Throne judgment, and this is the final judgment for unbelievers.
It results in eternal separation from God.
This includes things like eternal punishment, darkness, the second death, and being cast away from God forever, and the Bible talks about that in the Book of Revelation.
Now, as a Christian, you're not going to be at that judgment, but the Bible says we will appear before the judgment seat of Christ.
This is for the believers.
It's not for salvation to be decided whether you're going to be saved or not, but it's actually for rewards.
In Romans chapter fourteen, verses ten, as well as Second Corinthians five to ten, says that believers will stand before the judgment seed of Christ.
So it's not necessarily before the great White Throne judgment before God to be sent off forever in separation from God, but it's before the judgment seed of Christ.
Now, this is where Jesus will evaluate our works, our motives, and how we lived for Him after we were saved.
The word for the judgment seed of Christ is the word bema, and that comes from the ancient Greek Olympic Games.
It was an elevated platform where athletes would receive their rewards after they competed in the games.
This was not a place of condemnation, but recognition.
So this wasn't like a court case where you get condemned to a lifetime in prison.
This was actually a elevated platform where if you compete it in the games, you got a reward.
So that's the word that is used for the judgment seed of Christ, where believers will stand to receive rewards for their work.
The Bible is clear that rewards that Christians will receive will be different.
Jesus taught us to store treasures in heaven, not just live for the rewards on earth.
In Matthea chapter six, he tells us that we can transfer our wealth from one place to another when we die.
Your earthly treasures will not be yours, but the wealth you've transferred to heaven will remain yours forever.
God also gives us eternal rewards for doing good works if hees is six' eight Romans two eight Romans to ten, persevering under persecution Luke chapter six, verses twenty two and twenty three, showing compassion to the needy look chapter fourteen, verses thirteen and fourteen, and treating our enemies with love look Chapter six, verse thirty five.
All these behaviors have a reward attached to them.
So if you don't do these things, well, there's gonna be no reward.
In Luk chapter nineteen, the Bible talks about faithful servants who will rewarded to rule over ten cities.
Some who were ruling over five cities based on how they stewarded what the Master gave them, and that was a picture of what's going to happen in heavenly rewards.
Would that mean that we will rule over cities.
We're not sure, but definitely there's going to be levels of responsibility and privileges probably given and service unto God.
That we will have fort eternity that will be consistent with how faithful we were with things given to us by God here on this earth.
First Corinthians chapter three is one of the famous verses that talks about that if your work indoors, you will receive a reward, but if it gets burned up, you'll suffer loss, even though you yourself will be saved.
So Paul warns us that some people's works who were building off a wood, hay and straw, will be burned up and suffer loss.
At the beam my seat, the judgment seat of Christ, they themselves will be saved, but without a reward.
Second John one Aid says watch yourselves so that you may not lose what we worked for, but may win a full reward, which means you can actually lose part of your reward by having bad motives, by living in a way that doesn't fully please God, even if it's not sinful.
And so we're gonna address that actually right now on five different crowns mentioned in the Bible.
The first crown is the imperishable crown first Corinthians nine twenty five, and in a context we see that it applies to people who exercise self discipline and spiritual endurance.
The second crown I want to highlight is the crown of rejoicing first the Salonians to nineteen.
It's for those people who win souls and disciple others.
The crown of righteousness is mentioned in Tewo Timothy four aid it's for those people who long for and love the Lord words appearing.
There's also the crown of glory in One Peter chapter five, verse four.
It's for pastors, elders, shepherds, leaders who serve God's people faithfully.
And then there's the crown of life Revelation chapter two, verse ten.
It's for those people who endure trials in persecutions faithfully, even unto death.
So will we all be equal in heaven in salvation, being children of God by faith in Christ one hundred percent.
But when it comes to rewards, honor, responsibility, and closeness that we will have to Christ, there will be differences.
Some will rule cities, some will receive crowns, some will simply enter heaven as through the fire with no reward.
In Revelation twenty two twelve, Jesus says, behold, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me to give each person according to what they have done.
God is just.
People who live their whole life giving to the poor, serving as missionaries, gave their life in death for Christ are not going to be rewarded, the same as the thief on the cross, who lived his life for himself and in the last seconds of his life asked Jesus to be in the paradise.
That's why if you're thinking about your life and you say, well, as long as I go to heaven, well you will spend the eternity in heaven.
You might as well live your life in a way that you receive a reward.
And yes, we will cast our crowns at the feet of Jesus.
But the responsibilities rewards and honors those things.
They will stay with us for eternity, and the loss of those rewards is also permanent.
So how should you live for eternal reward?
Few things I want to highlight.
One is served God sincerely without selfish motives.
Because Jesus talked about people who pray, fast and give to be praised by man.
He says, you know they already got their reward, so don't do it so people applaud you.
Whatever you do, do it is unto God.
If you're not recognized, if you're belittled, if you're may be criticized, if you're not honored by men, serve unto God.
Whatever you do do it is unto the Lord.
It's a game changer because in eternity Jesus will reward you.
Secondly, endure hardships and trials without giving up and complaining.
There is a crown of faithfulness for those people who endure sufferings.
It's not only about serving God, it's about being faithful to God when life is not fair, when circumstances are really bad, when you're being persecuted for your faith, you're being canceled, censored, fired, jailed, and maybe even killed.
Remember there is a reward that's waiting for you.
Thirdly, stay faithful to your calling, especially if you're in ministry.
It's easy to treat the call of God with disrespect and say, well it doesn't pay well, or well it's not going to help me advance and make me popular.
But the call of God is not for popularity or prosperity.
The call of God is to please God.
Stay faithful when things are slow, Stay faithful when there's a lot of pressure.
Stay faithful when it's easier to give up and quit and find something easier to do.
Stay faithful when there is an attack and opposition.
If God called you, walk worthy of your calling, there's a reward.
Even if you don't experienced a breakthrough un this earth, there's a reward you will experience for the eternity.
Next thing is share your faith and make disciples.
Almost every church has some kind of a discipleship path.
I cannot tell you how many people do not want to be a part of that, People who would rather seek a spotlight on the stage or do something within the ministry that is easier.
It doesn't take a toll on them.
They don't need to meet with people, they don't need to pour into people, they don't need to care for people, because, you know, winning souls and making disciples, you know, we would rather do something else.
There's a reward for people who win people.
There's a blessing that will happen from God.
Jesus died for that reason.
And maybe that's not going to get you a lot of applause or a spotlight.
But Heaven is seeing and God will reward those who win souls and make disciples.
So keep leading a small group, keep discipling people, keep following up on people who give their life to Jesus, and lastly, cultivate a deep love for Jesus and eagerly long for his return.
I have another video what I talk about, you know, not focusing so much and being raptured, but focusing on his appearing, his coming, which I believe are these two things are the same event, the rapture of the church and the coming of Jesus.
We will gather together to meet the Lord in the air as he is coming down from heaven.
But that's a different topic for a different day.
Long for Jesus, love Jesus.
There is a reward for that.
Your salvation is secure through Jesus.
Your eternal rewards are currently being determined by how you live.
Don't aim to just make it to heaven.
Live in such a way that you will hear well done, good and faithful servant.
Stop wasting your life.
What you do matters forever.
Lay up your treasures in heaven.
Which crown are you aiming for?
Share this teaching with someone who needs to stop wasting their life.
