Our mission at Vladimir Subject Ministries is to reach the world globally and disciple them digitally.
Let's dive into this episode.
Speaker 2When you're too busy to pray, try this.
If your days are stacked up and prayer keeps getting squeezed out, don't quit.
You might need to shift where and how you pray.
Now, something personally from my life that I wanted to share that I started to experiment lately.
You know, there were seasons in my life I would go to church to pray.
There were seasons in my life I would go on the walk to pray.
There were seasons for very long in my life I would lock myself in the room to pray.
And while I still rotate these things, something I started to experiment recently is actually to pray more when i'ming and turn my car into a moving sanctuary.
Now.
It also helped me to overcome the habit of grabbing my phone, and it gave me these reconnections with God all day long.
And while I do have my unhurried time in the secret place early in the morning that involves reading the scriptures and involves also a prayer, and that is non negotiable.
But these short, safe prayers during my commute changed my day.
And here's how you can do it as well.
First, turn your car or maybe you're riding a bus or a train into a sanctuary.
Now it's a bit different with the car versus if you're using a public transportation, but still you can turn that time into a quiet time with God.
You don't need a perfect chair, you don't need thirty minutes to talk to God.
You need attention and a willing heart.
Your car can host the presence of God.
Your commute can become a holy rhythm.
Think about it.
Every red light, every long straight away, every familiar road can be a reminder that God is here with me right now.
Your car really can give you that frequency with the Lord, while your secret place can give you the depth with the Lord.
And connecting to God while you're driving can keep your heart aligned to the Lord.
But the secret place keeps your roots deep.
Now, I do want to say it from the beginning, this is a supplement, not a substitute.
We do need to meet with God in an unhurried face, in the word open heart time.
But while you're on the move, you can stay connected there's some of you you've reached a very challenging, busy and overwhelming season of your life, and the time you used to spend with God you're not able to because of maybe you got a new baby, or the school or three jobs you're hustling, and it's just very difficult.
And yes, there are times we need to change our rhythms, but certain times of our life you can't really change everything.
It's out of your control.
And therefore you can take advantage of this time that a lot of us spend, especially in bigger cities, a long time in our car.
And something I do is when I get in the car, I tell the Lord, this is your sanctuary.
I welcome the Holy Spirit.
Now.
The second thing is there is biblical foundation for prayers on the move.
The scripture not only gives us permission, the scripture actually gives us a pattern to pray on the move, prayer without ceasing.
First, the Salonians chapter five, verse seventeen talks about short prayers all day long.
Deuroonomy chapter six, verse seven talks about talk about these things when you walk by the way, meaning prayer belongs, dicipership, The Word of God belongs not only in your prayer closet.
It actually belongs in your daily routines and routes.
The Bible says that Jesus tells us that we ought to worship God in the spirit and in truth, and God can meet us anywhere.
This doesn't mean that the code opt setting is not necessary, nor does it mean that this replaces our secret time with the Lord.
But we shouldn't limit prayer connection to God to just a prayer time.
You know, Jesus still kept the secret place Matthew Chapter six, verse six, Marks Chapter one, verse thirty five.
And so we should guard our unhurried time with the Father, whether it's once today, whether it's once every days, where we really just press it into the Lord in his word and listening to his spirit, you know.
Psalm verse eighty, it says, the Lord watches over your coming, and you're going, so God rides with you.
He is with you in the car.
Like think about it.
In the scripture, we see God met people on the road on the road to Emaus, on the road to Damascus.
Paul was there and God met him.
Two disciples were walking from Jerusalem and Jesus met them.
Why cannot Jesus the Holy Spirit meet you on your highway on your ride thirteing.
I want to share about it is safety first.
This matters more than anything else I'm gonna say today.
You got to keep your eyes on the road, and you got to keep your hands on the wheel.
You got to obey the law.
You can use your voice and pray out loud or pray quietly in your heart so that nothing distracts you from driving.
You can turn on do not Disturb while driving feature on your phone, no texting, no scrolling.
And if you feel a strong emotion, a strong presence of God and tears rolling down your eyes and you want to go deeper, you can pull over and just kind of really soak in the precess of God.
But we honor God by driving wisely, in fact, turning my car into a sanctuary.
Help to me to not pick up my phone because I had this habit of and I still am wrestling with it.
I'll just be honest, a moment of confession of a being, you know, like a little notification coming up, and then I got to look and see who's texting, who's calling, and it shows up on my tablet in my car.
You know who's texting and so I had to kind of kill the notifications so that I can focus on hosting the Holy Spirit as I am driving in my car and redeem that time.
In fact, one of the things that I personally love to do in the car is praying tongues.
So while I spend my secret time with the Lord and really just reading the scriptures and talking to the Lord, but when I would go in the car, I want to take that time, and sometimes it's like these fifteen minutes intervals of just praying in the Holy Spirit, sometimes with ernadot soaking music or turn on some kind of a worship music and just pressing into the Holy Spirit.
But the idea is this is you keep your eyes open, because if you close your eyes, you might actually go from encountering the Holy Spirit to like actually encountering Jesus and dying, and we do not want that.
So I just wanted to insert that here.
The fourth thing is I'm going to give you some prayers to pray while driving and some prayers to pray while parked, so while driving you can use break.
And so we're actually going to break the word break into these five short prayers.
Break would stand for be for breathing, take few breaths, just breathe in and just say God, you are here with me today.
And then resenter R tell the Lord Jesus, I churn my attention to you, just saying that in the car.
It'll take a few seconds.
It's a game changer.
Then A stands for ask, ask for one clear thing, whether it's for wisdom, whether it's for peace, whether it is for purity, and for guidance you and I'm gonna show you, like in the morning, you can focus on one thing.
On the way back from work, you can focus on another thing.
Keep listening.
Is four K take ten or twenty seconds and just listen to the Holy Spirit, listen to him speaking to you.
And lastly, is E stands for express thanksgiving, Say Lord, thank you for being here with me today.
And you can use this break, you know, breathing, inviting the Lord, saying God, you're with me, thank you, resentering Jesus, I churned my attention my effect to you, asking say Lord, would you give me wisdom as I head to work today, would you help me with my employees?
Would you help me with my employer?
Would you help me with my tasks?
And then take some time to listen as you're driving and then express thanks Lord, I thank you that you're with me.
I thank you for salvation.
I thank you for grace and mercy.
Now, let's just say that you came a little bit early to work.
You know you can actually take some time to pray in park.
I'll give you some prayers to pray in park.
Let's break the word park down.
Peace stands for pause, turn off the music.
Still your heart, We still don't know that.
I'm got A stands for acknowledge, Acknowledge the Lord.
Say Lord, I feel hurried, I feel anxious, I feel distracted.
Acknowledge not only the Lord, but acknowledge what you're feeling.
R stands for receive, Read one verse out loud and receive God's peace.
And in case stands for keep going, Say Lord, I commit the next step to you and just move forward with God.
So, whether you're driving or you're parked, some of these one sentence prayers can work anywhere.
They're powerful.
It just realigns you with the Holy Spirit, kind of reminds you once again that to be conscious to walk with God throughout your day.
Prayers like Jesus be the Lord over my mind.
Right now.
A prayer that says, Holy Spirit, lead my next conversation.
A prayer like Father, I cast this wady upon you.
A prayer like Lord, keep me pure in my thoughts, patient in my traffics, and kind in my words.
Prayers like Lord, let your Kingdom come on this street in this city.
You can pray in tongues as well, but do it softly, safely, so that you can be fully attentive to the road if you're driving.
And of course if you're in the bus, a public bus, and you're praying in tongues out loud, yeah, that could get you in trouble.
So you can pray under your breath or even in your heart.
I want to challenge you to this for seven days from the time of watching this video.
There's a high chance you clicked on this video because you're struggling, or maybe your prayer god in the rut, or maybe you feel like man, I just don't have time.
I'm kind of busy, and you feel guilty.
The Lord doesn't want us to walk around feeling guilty.
I always tell people, if you miss your time with the Lord, you shouldn't walk feeling guilty.
That's legalism.
You should walk feeling hungry.
You should feel like you're missing God.
God loves you, He wants to spend time with you.
Prayer is not a chore.
Prayer is not a punishment.
Prayer is not a discipline.
Prayers is a delight.
It's a conversation.
It's a connection.
It's an encounter with God.
So here are some things that you can practice next seven days.
Just bring that into your commute.
You don't have to do this for the rest of your life.
Just do it for the next seven days.
On your morning drive, you know, to work or to whatever that you are going to focus on your identity in Christ, Father, I belong to you.
Jesus be the lord of all my thoughts.
Holy Spirit, guide me.
You're going to lunch, you know, you can focus on intercession during the middle of the day.
Pray for the people and places that you pass.
Pray for school.
If you're passing it by you see students, bless them and pray for them.
You're passing a hospital, pray for those who are sick.
If you're seeing a police officer or a police station or a fire station, pray for those in authority.
Call your family by name and pray for them.
Pray for your city and pray for your church.
And as you're going back home from work and you're tired and you know there's a lot of stuff still not get done, you can actually pray prayers of introspection and say, Lord, where did I sense you today?
Where did I miss you today?
I confess this and this, I thank you for this and this.
I receive your rest.
So as you go back home, you recalibrate it to your family, because you're recalibrated to your God.
So let's summarize this.
Turn on, do not disturb while driving, and keep your phone out of the reach, keep your music low, and choose some instrumental worship.
Embrace the presence of God.
You know, pick landmarks as your prayer.
Acuse the bridge for gratitude, school for blessing, hospital for healing, on the ramp for surrender.
You can name certain roads as intercession routes.
You know, on this highway, I pray for the city.
You can put a sticky notes on your dash break or you can keep a small car from three to five names that you're praying for daily.
Keep in mind, the prayer in the car or prayer on your commute is like a vitam and it's not the main meal.
We still need to sit with God.
We still need to be with God, open his word, and linger.
But the car can help you to connect to God throughout your day.
The secret place is where you get transformed.
So let's do this for seven days, and every time you drive, practice break, anytime you park, practice a short park prayer.
Drop this in the comments and write, I am in If you choose to join this challenge with me for the next seven days, and I believe you will see a greater sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, a greater connectivity to the Lord, a greater awareness of his presence.
And you actually are fulfilling the biblical mandate, which is to pray without ceasing.
You're reconnecting to God throughout the day.
You're abiding in Him.
You're not just praying in the morning or in the evening and then just kind of being disconnected from the Lord.
And for some of you, this is going to be your cure for being on your phone and break in the law, which eventually can break you and you up either in jail or in a hospital or dead.
And that's very dangerous, and so take this time.
A lot of us commute a lot.
Some people drive forty minutes, some people drive thirty minutes, some people drive fifteen minutes.
And reconnect God to make it a sanctuary.
And let's see what God is going to do in our life.
Let's make every mile a meeting with God.
