If that show intro sounds familiar, it's because I just did it about an hour or two ago with Tony Gerdaman.

But we have some breaking news on the Ohio State recruiting front.

I'm joining mckevin nounifuckehuddle dot com.

Kevin Buckey's just added a commitment for their twenty twenty seven class.

And this is going to be a name and a family that is familiar to Ohio State fans.

Yeah, Angelo Smith, the younger brother of Jeremiah Smith out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida Shamana Madonna High School has committed to Ohio State.

A list of other schools out there, I mean, you know it depends on what you read in terms of the you know, the the tweets and everything else of who he chose Ohio State over.

I mean, you know, Miami, Oklahoma State.

We're certainly involved there.

Not the same player as Jeremiah Smith in terms of body types, but you know they're going to be good jeans there.

So I mean, you know, this is an exciting get for Ohio State.

And you know, maybe you know, maybe maybe he's got a little bit more growth in him, but you know, Ohio State certainly liked what they saw there, and this is this is not a you know, well, we're just going to We're going to offer your brother just to just to keep you cool or something like that.

I mean, you can't.

I mean, in this modern day of number management, you can't be doing two for ones, right.

And you know, Jeremiah Smith at this point has been at Ohio State for a couple of years now, and I mentioned he's a twenty Angelo Smith is a twenty twenty seven.

So by the time Angelo Smith shows up at Ohio State, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but I think there's a halfway decent possibility that Jeremiah Smith only plays three years with the Buckeyes, so they might not even overlap on the team if in terms of their careers, because Jeremiah Smith would be eligible for the NFL Draft after the twenty twenty six season, and Angelo Smith, unless he revery classifies, would not show up into at Ohio State until twenty twenty seven.

So you know, this is this is something.

This is a player that Ohio State is obviously very familiar with, knows the family.

But it's also we have seen Angelo Smith camp at Ohio State.

We saw him here at Ohio State back in June of twenty twenty four.

The thumbnail picture for this video on YouTube is a picture of Jeremiah Smith next to Angelo Smith.

And you know, I think you'll look at Angela Smith and go, he looks tiny.

That picture is more than a year old.

He has grown a good bit since then, as kids tend to do in their freshmen and sophomore years of high school.

But yeah, I think to your point, you're going to hear Jeremiah Smith little brother commits to Ohio State and everyone's going to rub their hands together and go, oh boy, the next Jeremiah Smith.

And that's you know, first of all, the next Jeremy Smith is not a fair thing to put on anyone.

And second of all, he's not, as you said, the same type of you know, body type as Jeremiah Smith.

He also very well might not even end up on the same side of the ball as Jeremiah Smith.

Right, I mean, depending on which database you're looking at, he's listed as an athlete, he's listed as a as a safety.

You know, he's again five ten, one seventy, that's what's in his Twitter bio.

So you know, that's what I'm going to go with at this point.

I mean, he was probably south of five seven last time I saw him, and looking at the thumbnail picture, you know, look at Jeremiah and be like, Jeremiah looks small.

Well, you know, Jeremiah bulked up this offseason as well, So you know, I think his future is going to be on defense.

I think that.

And and again I think that there's a huge thing there that there are a lot of five ten wide receivers out there.

But you know, if you can go out there and you can play corner well, you can play safety well.

You have you know, those genes, you have those god given abilities, you can make yourself a lot of money, and you know, separate yourself from the pack because everybody wants to go out there and play offense, but not everybody's Jeremiah Smith.

Not everybody's going to be Chris Henry Junior or whatever.

So you just kind of roll with the punches there.

But you know, Shamada Madonna obviously a program that puts out a ton of talent.

Ohio State recruits shaman A Madonna very well.

We were there for Southern Swing.

Didn't talk to Angelo on that trip.

I'm sure he was out there, but I mean, they're so deep with players, and you know, we only get to stay at a school for so long before we have to get on to the next school.

You know, we didn't talk to him there.

But you know, I always figured if Ohio State pushed for Angelo, Ohio State would get him.

Well, I guess they pushed, and now they got him.

Now they got him.

He is the third commitment in the class of twenty twenty seven for Ohio State.

The other two Jamir Brown.

He's listed as an athlete wide receiver for Ohio State.

He is a top ten player in the class of twenty seven, and then Brady Edmunds, the quarterback number eleven ranked quarterback four star prospect out of California.

We have seen both of those guys at Ohio State the last couple of weeks, so you know, both guys who you would figure out pretty firm commitments there and Angelo Smith now as the third commitment in that class at twenty twenty seven.

What's interesting is he might not be the only younger brother of a great Ohio state wide receiver who could potentially end up in a future Ohio state wide recruiting class because Marvin Harrison Junior's younger brother Jet he is also sort of out there right now as a possible target.

And we'll get to have the same conversation about just because someone is the younger brother of doesn't mean you're getting identically a carbon copy of the last.

Player, right exactly.

I mean we can go through I mean I think if you look at like, if you look at Devon Hamilton and Ty Hamilton, there were a lot of similar He's there.

I think if you look at the born brothers, Jacoby was smaller, you know, shorter than the than his older brothers.

But you know, there are a lot of similarities there.

But that's not always going to be the case.

It's not always going to be the case that it's just wash Rents repeat, it's the same player.

Congratulations, you're going to get six years of Smith's or seven years or whatever what have you.

We know we're getting three of Jeremiah h short of them changing the rules between now and you know and his third year out of out of high school.

So Jet Harrison, you know, really talented guy.

You know, he's somebody though that I think that probably fits more of the mold of what his older brother was in terms of position wise than what Angelo does.

But again, you just don't know, you don't know.

I meanel Angelo could get to six' one for all we.

KNOW i MEAN i remember talking to him over at The woody and AS i, SAID i had him south of five, seven And i'm, like, oh this is such a great, kid but damn he does not have a d one body.

Yet but he's the young.

KID i, MEAN i, was you know at that, AGE i was probably five, five but nobody was offering me a scholarship to go play.

Football so you, know maybe, maybe you, know maybe he gets to six foot even at even at that, point you, know you have to have you, know to be a six foot receiver that's going to to to really, excel especially in The Ohio state, system a system Where Ohio state goes out and gets the top receivers in the nation year in and year.

OUT i, mean that's something to be.

Said But i'm sure That Ohio state's defensive back coaches are pretty excited about this.

One and you, know we'll now now you, know now that he's in the, class now we can really start to dive into into his game and go in there and try and, find you, know try and find some highlights and things that he's, done because you, know outside of, that we just you, know we really only have seen him perform at, camp And i'm never going to really truly base a full evaluation off of.

Camp that's just not.

Fair, Yeah and just to be, Clear Angelo smith is a twenty twenty Seven Jet harrison is a twenty twenty, eight so he would be even a year behind.

That so twenty twenty, Eight i'll do the math for, you sophomore season right now for, Him Angela smith junior season for him right.

Now so you, know only Only Angelo smith committed To Ohio state, tonight we're just sort of having The Jet harrison conversation because it, seems you, know related to your.
