210: SILKSONG ALREADY GETTING EASIER

Episode Transcript

Speaker 1

Hey, you guys, hear me start cheering now.

Speaker 2

Here.

Speaker 1

Let's get guys off our lead.

Speaker 3

M loaf wof Hi.

Speaker 1

I'm Mike Manaughty and I am a nintendog Hi.

Speaker 3

I'm Jeff Grubbin.

I am an intent Dog.

Speaker 1

We are the last, last, last class of the the ninten Today, Silk Song's already getting easier.

Nintendo Direct this week really okay, and Nintendo got more money from its lawyer.

Speaker 3

Where good for you.

Speaker 1

But first off, Jeff grab, how's it going.

Speaker 3

It's going pretty good.

I was going to forget this podcast because I was upstairs and it was nine basically nine oh one, and stuff's like, don't you have a show tonight?

Oh?

What day is it?

And then I looked up from Hollow Night Silk Song and was like, oh, I should be doing a show right now.

I am into this game.

It has absorbed me.

I yeah, losing track of dates and times, both of them.

Speaker 1

I was, that's okay.

I was actually stuck in a Medal Gear Solid Delta cutscene.

I was like, oh man, I'm running.

I feel pretty bad.

And I was like nine oh two and I got on discord.

No, it's here, okay, I guess I feel better now.

Speaker 3

Yeah it was.

But yeah, no, I'm I'm boy, that's a that's a video game.

Hollow hollownight, Sol.

Speaker 1

You're liking this one, I'm glad.

Oh yeah, this one.

Speaker 3

I'm sure I would like the first one if I would just really give it a real chance.

But yeah, missed my opportunit.

I'm using this opportunity of the zeitgeist to justify like really going into it.

And now it's like, oh, it hasn't hooks into me.

I'm not putting this thing down anytime soon.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's a hard game to stop playing.

Are you still in Act one?

Speaker 3

Yep?

Yeah, Yeah, I'm stumped.

I'm sure I'm still pretty early, you know, I'm stacking up some hours here.

But my understanding is this is a big beefy game.

No sort of illusions about being anywhere near like even the halfway point.

Like I'm still very early.

Speaker 1

I think I just like that the big zeitgeist talked about game at the moment is a two D metro v.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Yeah, I'll take it anyway I can get it.

And I'm you know what, I'm happy that it's this game because this game is very good.

It deserves all of the love it gets.

You know, I really doubt I come out of this being like this is my favorite Metroid Vane, but it's already one of my favorites, so that's fantastic.

I'm glad other people like this game as much as I do.

You're playing switch To I'm playing on switch To?

Speaker 1

Yes, same, Yeah, that's uh yeah.

I mean it's like, you know, you would hope it looks great on there, but it looks great on that.

Speaker 3

Oh yeah, it looks it looks great.

I you know, I'm definitely I wish there was a little bit more travel on the analog sticks on that thing.

So I when third parties start putting out throwing joy con too, I guess I'm assuming that's something though that will happen, you know, happen a ton on the first one.

I'm gonna assume that can happen here.

When when that starts to happen, I will look for an alternative.

I do think that for games like this, where I'm doing a lot of precisions stuff, I just find myself being like I definitely thought I was pushing in the other direction.

Why did I dash in the wrong way during that boss fight?

Speaker 1

That's really frustrating Tibo on this one.

Speaker 3

You know, I can't.

I can try for some games, but this game, I note like we're talking about a thirty hour game, right, that's what what the what people are clocking it out on?

Speaker 1

This sounds about right, So like the first one was like that, and.

Speaker 3

I'm just afraid of putting my of crooking my thumb down like that for thirty hours.

It is a very uncomfortable position after, to tell you what, Tish.

Speaker 1

You know, I usually never complain about that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3

You're starting to feel it a little bit.

Speaker 1

Hand hurts a little bit after, like you know, three hours in.

Yeah, it is a little bit weird getting down there for that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it is one of the reasons of like should I play this on the Steam deck old and have the OLED screen?

And I got the deep d up there, But now I'm happy to be playing.

Like the analyt sticks do you usually do work for the most part.

It's just a couple of times where it's very very precise I'm trying to do.

I'm trying to do like five maneuvers in this game, back to back to back really fast in an instant, and I screw one thing up and it's like, I know, part of that is me being a little sloppy.

Sure, but I do think I did that right as right as I should have, and it just didn't It just didn't take or whatever.

But whatever, that's a very minor thing for what has been a very good game so far.

Speaker 1

All right, so let's talk about someone who you're including folks, Song, which is getting a first post release of Patch Shore, which is largely.

Speaker 3

I'm still not updated.

It's not out yet, so oh good.

Speaker 1

Well, so there's a beta branch that has the update on Steam in goog.

Speaker 3

That's why people are talking about Okay, yes, so you.

Speaker 1

Know you can down it on their Nintendo.

Yeah, not yet.

It's not officially available on those things.

So there are some balancing things.

One of it is just kind of about the prices and the frequency that you get the rosary beads, which is kind of the more important currency of the two is the one you use in shops.

So they're going to lower the cost of bellways and bell bench prices and give you more as rewards for doing carrier corrier deliveries from relics, song cylinders, things like that.

I mean, you know, I thought that they were pretty stingy with the beads, especially early on.

I don't know if that was.

Speaker 3

Only certain enemies drop them and like you have to go find them and then like kind of farm them a little bit if you are really trying to do something specific.

I've not had too much of an issue with that.

I only just really lost a decent amount of those beads of the of the rosary beads recently.

Like up until that point, I was always able to do the corpse run and get everything back and go and spend it, and that means I bought most of the maps in most everything so far.

But when there is an occasional time where I had spent a bunch of money get to the next thing, and now it's like here's three things asking for eighty beads, it's like, oh, okay, I guess that's gonna be my next little bit.

It's just kind of maybe looking for those enemies that drop these things that probably should be a little bit smoother early on, and that's the kind of thing they want to have more of a later in the game.

I think that makes sense.

They probably don't want people like aching for these this currency very early in the game.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I think exactly that's the balance is just kind of the timing of it, because yeah, where I am in the game now, kind of deep into X two, I never really have a problem with that.

There are that many things that I have to spend them on, and you get a lot more of them early on.

Though.

Yeah, it's like, you know, you're consolet especially all the map pieces yet to buy early on everything else.

I see.

That wasn't some big problem for me.

But sure.

They also are slightly reducing the difficulty, they say of two of the early game bosses, more Wing and Sister Splinter, also decreasing the enemy damage from the sand carvers.

I think that some people have been having some trouble with these bosses, you know, I don't know if I thought it was some big thing.

I don't think I personally had a huge problem with either of them.

You know, having a problem with a boss in this kind of game, yeah, I want to have a problem and then overcome it.

Maybe they just thought it was a little early for people looking at their data to be dying ten twenty thirty times to a boss already.

Speaker 3

I think that's probably right.

I don't get the sense that these are supposed to be super super hard boss fights, because I did just beat a sister Splinter or whatever her name is a few like just a little bit ago, but probably half an hour ago, and doing that, it was just like, again, these patterns are super super telegraphed, very clear to know what is going to be happening in this fight.

Now it's just down to execution.

And if that's the case, like where they're being very obvious about what you need to do, and if you even if you have the basic move set just moving around and just anticipating things and an attack and that's it, you could still beat all of these bosses.

And honestly, in some ways it's almost better because if you just are playing very conservative, you could keep yourself out of damage.

And I just think they want people to learn that side of things, that people should not get greedy.

The soulsiness of this game comes in the corpse runs and it comes in some of these boss fights where they don't want you just spam an attack.

For the most part, you get in there, get two hits, get out, find safety, find your next moment of opportunity.

Those I thought both these boss fights were about teaching people of that concept and probably not like to be super punishing yet that will come later, I'm sure.

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I mean there's like forty buses in the game.

There's plenty of opportunities down you know, nothing those like the end of Act one boss.

I thought that was very hard when that was one that did take me you know, good amount tries, and that is an appropriate place for that.

Yes, so yeah, you know, you can have those moments later.

I you know, I'm glad I was able to be the normal difficulty.

But I don't think it's something where anybody who plays the game on the patch now to wear a scarlet letter or something.

Speaker 3

No, not, not for these bosses.

Definitely not.

Yeah.

Again, I think these ones are meant to be tuned down.

I think they're gonna you're right, looked at the data.

They will come away from this being like, yeah, this is now where we intended it to be.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Plus you know some of the things that makes makes them hard.

There's ads in one of them, and a lot of bosses even early on to to like full pips of damage.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so so there you go.

So yeah, whatever, but it's like to see a patch coming out, especially with bug fixes, even though I haven't had any major bugs, yes, all the ones in the game bugs.

Speaker 3

Yeah, there is, Yeah, so.

Speaker 1

There's Hey, do you think this is uh like already the third best selling game on the switch to.

Speaker 3

Mario Kart and it's not it's not available physically, so maybe like a cyberpunk might be edging it out a little bit still, but that you're right, that'll happen here quick, especially like as we get to the holiday and people are picking up their main game and then this twenty dollars indie game.

They've heard a million, like a million things about that's going to be such an easy second game part just for a lot of people all through the next couple of years.

Obviously.

Yeah, I think that it probably if it's not number three, it's very close.

Speaker 1

I don't know, even though you know this isn't a Nintendo exclusive or anything like that, to me, this does feel like, yeah, the third big one.

Speaker 3

Yeah no, no, you know, Sony has done a decent job of locking down those big third party multi platform games.

I say locking down, but like getting a deal with their publisher and then treating them like a big deal for the PlayStation.

With Hogwarts, Legacy, Double seven, First Light, a handful of other games.

Nintendo's got a very similar thing going with the marquee indie games.

Haities two will come out here in a few weeks and it will be console exclusive on Switch to when it launches, and I think a lot of people are like, I'll be playing Hades two on They're all gonna play my other indie game on there, And yeah, you're right, this game it's not just in your head either, Mike, because these games sell so much better on Switch than any other console.

Speaker 1

I just realized what shirt you're wearing.

It's like sexy Bruce the Bat sitting on a Master.

I'm not gonna lie.

It's pretty good.

It's a great shirt.

It's real good.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

Check it out, everybody.

She's a sexy bat.

Speaker 1

Yeah, this game's gonna do so well for them.

I even think, like, obviously there's a lot of Hollow nighte merchandise, but Hornet is gonna be I think that's a character we're gonna be seeing a ton of for the rest of our lives.

Speaker 3

That's gonna be in every indie game going forward.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because you know, in the first Hallow Night it was kind of this non named h silent protagonist thing.

Here, you have this deep character who was you know in the first game, and now she's talking.

She has this fun personality.

She's taking yourself very seriously in a charming, almost cute way.

So gosh, yeah, I think, yeah, this game is gonna be with us for a long time.

I am having a ton of fun with it every night, even nights where I think like, I can't play too much this tonight it's kind of late, gotta go sleepy by.

I still end up staying up for three hours, just even like yesterday, because I'm seeping up.

The game was like one of the first times where I really was just kind of running around doing some kind of poking, not really progressing any of the main missions.

I just felt good doing that for a couple hours and just finding some interesting stuff here or there.

It's super fun.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you have to pull your ring, but I get it.

I am Yeah, I'm with you.

That's that basically echoes my experience.

Yeah, it's it's a metroidvania, and those are just the best.

Speaker 1

It's just the best.

I just think about that one time we were playing that Strider game that was a metro Vanoid remembers, and I think we did the game of this game club.

You came in, You're like, yeah, making your game and metro venas like cheating.

Speaker 3

It's just it's just like good like and I'm like you could see it.

Like there's people who are like live like live tweeting their experience with the game and things like that, and there's some people who are like, this game's too hard and I kind of hate it.

I'm gonna be done.

And then fifty skeets later, it's like, I'm done with this game, except r I just got a new power soone to check that out, and it's like, yeah, that's it.

That's what happens.

Is like, sure you get frustrated, but you know, if you beat the thing then you could just like put it down, but no, instead you get something new and that makes you want to try all these new things and go explore the world again.

It's just so good.

Speaker 1

It's fantastic stuff.

It's gonna be fun to continue to play through it and see where it goes and what kind of post launch content against it gets, because there's a lot of stuff for the first holl of Night, major things added to that game.

Down the road.

Yep, all right here let's talk about the direct actually, rub because people still think that this is probably coming this week, either Thursday the eleventh or Friday the twelve.

People are teasing how there could be three games with seven in the title.

So switch Fords found that seven rebirth, maybe that rumor seven remake.

Uh, maybe Yakuza's seven like a Dragons the Evil seven.

Also Double O seven, which has been promoted as coming to the switch to already.

I feel like that's decent one.

I like the idea of seventh guest people thought maybe sol Calbra seven, and already whoever leaked was like, no, it's not so Calbra seven.

Don't get your hopes up with that.

But you know, regardless of that, it seems like this is going to be likely a relatively big direct this week.

We've been speculating about this one a bit.

Now we know we want to see METROI Prime for his release date, hopefully some other Metroid Prime stuff with two and three getting Ringmasters, maybe get you know, a few game reveals, find out what that big game for twenty twenty six is, whether it's Animal Crossing or something else.

Are you getting excited, Jeffy.

Speaker 3

Yeah, definitely, I'm I'm excited for this.

I you know, I think that they're you know what, one of the things set Me and Rachel talked about when she was on the show is what is the number for that fire emblem game?

Is it?

Seven?

Seven six?

What is the Holy War?

Speaker 1

Uh?

Speaker 3

Gracious gracious seven seven six?

Speaker 1

That's not they're not doing now, that's the one after genealogy of the whole.

Speaker 3

Right, they're doing genealogy in the Holy War.

That's that's right.

That's a good point.

Okay, So yeah, yeah, very much.

So we'll we'll see, like what what has happened to all these seven games?

I'm I'm and I'm I'm gonna be happy to see.

Oh please, you got something.

Speaker 1

There's a game coming out with seven of the title that nobody else remembered, you stupid pieces of ship assholes.

Oh boy, it'll be pretty good for a system that has a mouse though, an oh one one seven oh ship.

Speaker 3

If If that's what Switch Forwards is teasing, these kids are gonna lose their mind.

They're gonna be so excited for ann.

Speaker 1

Is coming to this week.

I mean, you know what, I think.

I don't think I got it.

I think I killed it.

Speaker 3

That's it.

That's it right there.

Everyone give your kudos, give your flowers to Mike Manati.

Speaker 1

That's just all the soak song bugs cheering for me.

Speaker 3

Yeah, that's what it sounds like.

That's what their applause sounds like.

Yeah, I'm excited and all of this sort of Hey could a bunch of those other Sega games now that Schnoby's out, maybe those games will be there, all these seven games whatever, it's it's Metroid that you know.

Give me, give me news on Metroid, and I will be happy sort of no matter what, and then everything else is going to be a little bit of sugar on top.

If we do get that tease for a big switch to twenty twenty six game, I'll be ecstatic.

If we don't, but we get Metro for Prime fours release date and it's not delayed to twenty twenty six, I'll be fine.

So this is like a pretty low like hurdle for this direct to clear for me personally, and then I get the sense that it might be quite a bit more than that.

So yeah, I'm ready to get into this thing and see what Nintendo's got.

Speaker 1

The other thing we're wondering about is Hades too.

Which seems almost crazy to think about right now while we're yes, it's playing Crazy All the Night's Silk Song, but that game could be coming out soon ish, and that could get a release date revealed in a directly it could be a matter of like, yeah, that thing's out in a week.

Just the idea of getting back to back Soilk Song into Hades two sounds grossly decadent.

Speaker 3

Yes, I'm like if I'm then do I like, do I do one of these delays and give it a little bit more time.

That's almost a game because it will be it will be digital only at first, Like like what if that game came out just like on Christmas Day right where it's like one of those games where oz yeah and everyone just is like I either I got a new switch or we did all the stuff all day and this evening everyone's just gonna be like reading their books or playing with their toys, or we're gonna play on a movie and I'm gonna download Hades too in this big old chair with a blanket and play some bucks and play that.

That Just that would be a move right there for a digital game.

Christmas Day releases are huge because everyone goes runs to those shops in the digital stores and buy stuff.

So I don't know, I don't want I guess maybe I don't want to necessarily wait that long.

But right in this moment, I can't imagine Haities two being here as well.

Speaker 1

That you're right, decadent, that's gonna be an indie game of the year blood right, like those people like us like.

Speaker 3

What about blue Prints giving us swirl easy?

Speaker 1

But really, oh oh, it's a good year.

It's exciting.

I played so many games that I've really enjoyed this year, Jeff.

And there are still some big ones like Hates to like Mes Troy Prime for I am excited to learn some more about those.

Yeah, just see whatever else we have.

If if we do, in fact it get this direct, you know, we'll do a talkover during it on giant bomb dot com.

We are already doing that, a claim talkover thing tomorrow.

Speaker 3

A claims it's E three two a summer game fest.

Again, here we go, everybody.

Speaker 1

The Acclaim showcase call, Oh my god.

So yeah, there's tons of stuff happening.

Speaker 3

I hope it's I hope it's either completely dog shit terrible or an actual secret banger.

That's that's what I want from a claim to really just deliver the goods or to deliver utter trash.

Either one will be good for me.

Speaker 1

I wonder what kind of n SO stuff we would get from a direct because now there's all these other n sixty four games we're expecting.

Since first sak and sixty four actually happened.

Speaker 3

Killer seven, put Killer seven on SO and Mature Mature edition with Eternal Darkness.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, that would be good.

I mean because the Eternal Darkness or Hall one time and you Killer seven, that'd be funny.

Killer seven is one of the sevens.

Speaker 3

Huh yeah.

Speaker 1

Interesting.

Interesting.

But there's like there's others they promised that we haven't gotten yet, right like Fire Emblem, even My Sunshine we got c B Robo.

So yeah, there's still some GameCube one, so I went, don't want more GameCube ones, but you know, I still want some more at sixty four once a week.

We're pretty sure that we are going to be getting Scars, Smash Brothers, Glover Donkey Con sixty four since they were sort of part of that Detective League we'll call it, which said that Forsaken sixty four was going to happen.

But you know, I still want don't want any games.

I still want us in again s games.

I want Genisis, I want game Boy, I want game Wood fans like just I want I want it all, Jeff, I gotta have it all, baby.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I would like even welcome like a put Virtual Boy on there, put all the Virtual Boy games in one go.

They don't have to actually be three D.

Come on, Nintendo.

Speaker 1

I'm still so mad that they had a three D console and they didn't do a Virtual Boy.

Speaker 3

It's silly because I think because there's a Virtual Boy emulator you can install on that thing using homebrew and it works so well, it looks so cool, it's awesome.

Uh yeah, it's about like you know, it's stupid, but Nintendo just wasn't ready yet.

They weren't ready to like reopen that wound.

And now it's like basic fully healed because they've had such the successful switch, right, and it's and like they're back on top of the world.

They can acknowledge their faults once again.

And it's but now they don't have a three D system to really take advantage of it.

So like maybe it doesn't make sense, and it's.

Speaker 1

It's like how in ten years it'll be okay talking about the wei U again.

Yep, exactly, all right, A yeah, so, uh, the title is going to get two million more dollars.

They won a lawsuit against another Ram distributor.

This is the guy did the MiG switch motter.

They suit him and now they're going to settle for two million dollars.

I also saw that there was a settlement with the was that soft the peripheral company.

Speaker 3

That oh that's right, ginky, yes, chicily at a.

Speaker 1

Was it Consumer Tronk show or something or game was like, here's our switch, here's our mock up of what a switch to looks like.

It's common knowledge.

Of course, you're like, what are you thinking?

Do you know who Nintendo is?

Quick?

Put that away, you fools.

Speaker 3

Looks very funny to talk to them at packs about their stuff and just about so, how's everything going with that Nintendo stuff?

And just see the thousand yards stare.

I'm just like, oh, man, I don't know.

It's like, yeah, I bet you don't.

I wouldn't either.

I feel bad for you guys, but uh maybe maybe don't ever do that again.

Speaker 1

Don't ever do that again?

Crazy with this of course, Oh you shouldn't have done.

Speaker 3

That, right, Yeah, Like I feel bad for someone that like looked directly in the eyes of a silverback gorilla.

But don't look directly in the eyes of a silverback gorilla.

Just ignore them or look away and you'll be fine.

Speaker 1

It's not that what you did was wrong morally, it was just right.

Like I don't care, tell me what it's what sho looks like.

I appreciate it.

Speaker 3

Yeah, thank you, seriously, thank you, But uh, why'd you do that?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

I believe it was it the smartest move.

Speaker 3

Yeah, big so big week for Nintendo, settling things left and right.

Speaker 1

Yeah, good, good job.

Nintendo's lawyers every time doing well.

All right, Jeff, those are the big topics.

We have some super chats.

People get those and we're gonna read them in a moment here, and we've got a mail bag to talk about.

We're gonna talk talk to these fine folks over here watching the show.

Last of the New ten Dogs, episode two ten I never stay the number to ten.

Wha, what a number.

We'll be right back everybody.

I like that.

They're bugs And also mail bag time, no super chet time.

First stry you.

Speaker 3

Got bugs on the brain and it's messing up the show.

Mike, get your shit together.

Speaker 1

I'm bug.

Speaker 3

Oh I thought you were gonna say I'm bugs, and I'm just like like a bunch of bugs in a man suit or like the bun the bunny.

Speaker 1

Okay, uh yeah, god this We're not gonna be the most famous video game bug ever.

Now it's like Buck Bumbles done, bug is it's over for bugs about a famous video game bugs.

Speaker 3

There's gotta be some earthworm gem count.

Speaker 1

He's a worm.

Speaker 3

That's not a bug.

Speaker 1

They're different, like they are.

I associate spiders even though I know they're not bugs or in that world.

Speaker 3

I yes, exactly.

I was like to me, I thought bug was an informal term that we just used for creepy crawlers.

So I was like spiders and bugs.

It's like, now apparently bugs are also just the six legged insects or whatever.

You know.

Speaker 1

It's like spiders are two bugs what terror dactyls are to dinosaurs.

They're not really dinosaurs, but like coming if I say, if I'm like, I want a bunch of dinosaurs for this like party, like a bunch of dinosaur cutouts, I kind of want there to be a Terodactyl amongst the group.

Speaker 3

Yes, you go to a party and you say what's your favorite dinosaur and what's your favorite bug?

And someone says terry dactyl and spider, you would be kind of a dick to be like, well, actually, yeah, I.

Speaker 1

Would hate that.

I would hate that.

From here anyways, Uh, Jeffo, please read the super chests.

Speaker 3

All right, I'm gonna start here with Simon from Saskatchewan, who says, Mike ever play Seventh Guests or s excuse me, Seventh Saga for sn e S.

It's gotta be the seven League, right.

It's an odd game description on the front of the SNS box is interesting.

Speaker 1

I have not played Seventh Saga.

I've heard about it a lot, cleared.

Speaker 3

Up an emulator once.

It's weird.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's very weird.

It's very heavy on the Mode seventh and maybe that's why it's called that.

Speaker 3

Actually, oh wow, probably right.

Speaker 1

I just my hunt is something here.

I was published by Enix.

No, I've always wanted you.

I mean this is the kind of stuff like, look, no one's ever gonna remaster the Seventh Saga on a n S O.

It's like I'm playing that ship on there I think that one.

Speaker 3

It looks it looks like Super Nintendo Virtual Hide LiLine in some ways, like yeah, exactly, that's weird.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so now I would like to check out seven Sagas some time for sure.

Speaker 3

That looks pretty cool.

Simon's back.

Apologies for last week.

Captain Toad is playable through game Share.

My bad.

Now you too have no excuse.

Also, wear's the mug?

Merch Jeff to do something I.

Speaker 1

Don't forgive you.

How dare you suggest?

Shut up?

Speaker 3

Jeff?

Speaker 1

Got you?

I have one job of this company except for being your fucking internet clown.

All right, dance.

Speaker 3

For us, Dance for us on the shards of these mugs.

Speaker 1

Now, the mug is my decision.

You know what bugs?

Oh the groveling that you need to do.

And I haven't seen nearly enough groveling yet.

I'm just saying.

Speaker 3

Gravel signed from saskatchewans back for a third one.

Glad you're enjoying Silk Song.

Jeff, guess Dan convinced you howl that is great?

Huh Mike?

Do you still think it looks like a flash game?

Boy?

Speaker 1

That's I never liked that criticism that one.

I'm like, I get what people mean by that.

Speaker 3

I got what people meant.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it has unshaded characters with thick outlines.

Speaker 3

Right and like, and the animations, uh looked a little bit like they were moving too smooth or whatever.

But like once you watch the game in action, you're actually playing it, you're like, oh no, that's just a cool stylistic choice that is different than what people mean when this.

Speaker 1

Is just like there's like a there's a new Grounds ancestry there in a way that I find really appealing.

And I think it looks great.

But you know, I liked stuff like castle crashers and whatnot and are it's definitely that take into its highest form.

Yep, it's gorgeous.

Speaker 3

Chris Pratt is back.

I'll show you something else that's too hard if you know what I mean.

No explain Chris christ I know me too is dead, but you got it.

You just gotta be careful, Bud, You're gonna you're gonna get canceled.

And our sweet innocent Mikey just doesn't know that you're talking about your penis.

Speaker 1

What else is penis?

Speaker 3

keV bought dot Org says, Hello, dogs, what's the last game you played that you were surprised how much you enjoyed it.

Right now, that's Unicorn Overlord for me.

Not usually my thing, but I am four two hours in and loving it up.

Speaker 1

Earlier this year, I think people who watched to know I got really into two point a Museum, and I thought, you know, I just started that as a curiosity, and that became my game for a long time.

Still the game of this year.

I like to evangelize the most.

I'm like, hey, I know a lot of great games come up this year, I think you should still check out two point Museum.

It deserves a recognition for just nailing that kind of weird sim management kind of thing well with an amazing sense of humor.

It's just super playable, easy to grasp, a ton of complexity.

They've been adding a lot of contact to it.

They added the ability to make an arcade as kind of like one of the assumes gift shop adjacent things you can do in your museum.

So I want to see what that looks like.

But yeah, really a surprise just how much I liked two point Museum this year.

Speaker 3

Yeah, mine's pretty easy.

I was very surprised how much I enjoyed the game Trespasser for Blake Club, that us surprising.

I usually expect to be completely miserable, you know, for outside of like Blake Club.

Actually, Blake Club has been very informative.

It's made me realize that the difference between a bad game and a good game versus do I enjoy myself or not can sometimes be completely unrelated.

Like those things are two different things in a lot of ways.

Speaker 1

Not to like pick on like old enemies here, but Horizon for Ben and West is absolutely objectively a better game than Jurassic Park Trespasser, and I would much rather play Jurassic Park.

Speaker 3

Like ten out of ten times, I'm picking Trespasser.

Actually, yeah, yeah, all right, let's see here.

Antonio Morales says, great dream Cast stream today.

It made me hook up my old Dreamcast and god damn it's loud.

Who is your favorite crazy taxi driver?

And why is it?

B?

D Joe?

Speaker 1

Oh, I'm kind of a Gus guy.

I like how Gus looks like he would because was the one who looks the most like an actual taxi drive.

Right, he's got like the opened Hawaiian shirt.

Yes, it's just this greasy chest hanging out there with fall the hair man.

I'll tell you what the fact that Gus is four two years old and I'm like, like, Grub.

Speaker 3

How old are you?

Forty two years old?

Speaker 1

You are as old as Gus.

I've never thought you were old before until now.

You're as old as Gus from Crazy.

Speaker 3

I'm as old as Gus.

Speaker 1

Yep, look at him.

Speaker 3

That's yeah.

Oh man, oh no, I'm based on one foot in the grave, just like Gus, who's never been alive.

I yeah, you're right.

That's actually probably the best one.

I like all these guys though.

In the first Crazy Taxi game, even the green haired Offspring guy.

Speaker 1

They're good games.

I almost threw Crazy Taxi, although that Offspring song always gets people in trouble on Twitch, so maybe it's a bit getting I did end to this time.

Speaker 3

You just turn on streamer mode on your Dreamcast.

You'll be fine.

See here, el Greg here to say Jeff Greb looked good and that suit or in that suit, and to ask if Mike got rid of his suits after he left Games Beat Penis No.

Speaker 1

I gotta keep them in case there's the funeral I want to go to.

Speaker 3

In case someone good dies.

Speaker 5

Dressing code for like funerals and gaming press events is that they's.

Speaker 1

Basically yeah, yeah, yeah, going on a little bit.

Man.

I look, I had a great many great years.

That games beat a lot of awesome opportunities.

I'm not necessarily gonna miss having to attend some of our more like business events.

It was, it was, it was a lot, and that was very suit heavy stuff.

You know me.

I'm just I'm a giant goober.

I don't know if you've noticed, so keeping that kind of business see energy up for a while was a little taxing for Mikey's.

Speaker 3

All right, let's hear David r Lane or our line.

Maybe he says, there's so many troll benches in this game.

Yeah, I've seen clips of that going around.

I've not encountered the bench troll yet.

I haven't won it killed me.

Speaker 1

It's just funny, and I just I only had to.

There's a futuroing.

I hey, let's say what boss, hang on, Christian, there's a fusion moment in this game.

That's what I'm gonna say.

Speaker 3

Wow, Okay, I can't wait.

I'm kind of I kind of like, how much of a troll this game?

Is what we're gonna say, Christian?

Speaker 6

You got scale issue?

Brother?

Speaker 3

They have fake fake like it's like they they they do a lot of times.

I'm like still like like a little bit annoyed when like some of the buttons that are on the ground are hiding behind the parallax and it's like, Okay, I guess there's a sliver there I could have seen, but come on, I'm like moving around.

Speaker 1

They want to get you think of at the moment.

Yeah, all right, let's see.

Speaker 3

Victor says, wouldn't Animal Crossing for Switch to be the seventh installment?

If you count Animal Forest.

Speaker 1

That'd be incredible.

Remember, I mean they only started a numbering Mario Kart at seven.

Speaker 3

If they just call this Animal Crossing seven, that would be insane.

Speaker 1

That would be my favorite thing that ever happened.

Speaker 6

Nintendo.

Speaker 3

Yeah, they are unpredictable.

Speaker 1

Now.

The problem is like even on Wikipedia, they don't count like Animal Crossing on sixty four in GameCube as different games.

Right, there would be that Let's say that's just one, then there's Wild World, City Folk, New Leaf, Then I guess you have to then New Horizons and then this one.

Speaker 3

Now, well, if you count Pocket Camp Pocket Camp, just.

Speaker 1

Like they count Mario Run as like Maylan and how they count Mario Kart.

So there you go.

Maybe that is how you get we're not counting a mebo festival obviously.

Speaker 3

No, that could go right in the bend where it belongs.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, yeah, So the seventh Animal Crossing, that's wow, man, twenty twenty, that game came out.

Actually, I didn't realize that it was actually such a relatively It was a long amount of time between New Leaf and New Horizons.

That was eight years between those two games.

Speaker 3

Yeah, that is because that studio is the Splatoons.

Dude.

Speaker 1

I think you're right.

I think you're basically Splatoon.

Speaker 3

They got real big in this Splatoon.

Speaker 1

Yeah, there was just there was never a weu Animal Crossing, which is really the only console games have missed since ye know the game Cuban DS once took off.

Speaker 3

Yep.

So yeah, they just made New Horizons for the Switch instead, And I can't let that took a couple extra years for that.

Yeah all right.

Uh, let's see here, David Arline is back and says I'm gonna fistfight bile water.

Uh have you encountered bile water in the video game Hollow Nights Silk Song, There's there's.

Speaker 1

Some water that I don't think this is a boss.

There's some stinky water that when you go in it you kind of have a poison effect.

That's pretty annoying.

I think that's what maybe David means because it is a bit of a hassle.

Speaker 3

All right.

Speaker 1

I mean you can't punch water, though you could try.

There was there was a famous uh like was it a Persian general or the Greek general that made his army stab the water a bunch because it wouldn't let them cross.

He's the thing.

So look, you can fas fight the water.

I just don't know how it's gonna go for you.

Speaker 3

If you like, pour a bunch of corn stars in there, you can make non Newtonian fluid and then so when you impact the water, it actually becomes a solid for a moment.

That would probably feel pretty good.

So that's my recommendation.

Go make some non Newtonian fluid.

Speaker 1

Oh it was Cligula, the mad Emperor.

He declared war on the sea.

Speaker 3

That's so caligular, classic caligular stamp.

All right, let's see here.

Uh high score says this silk song is gonna pop my pumpous Yeah.

I agree.

Speaker 1

Also, Xerxes uh had his army whip the hell of spunt reverse punchback because it destroyed his bridges.

Speaker 3

Three hundred one.

Yeah, from the from the movie three hundred Uh, how was that not in there?

Yeah, that'd be incredible.

Speaker 1

Maybe it was that I forgot.

Speaker 3

Yeah that's true.

Uh, let's see here.

Shit.

Yeah, imagine having so much power that you're just like, I can also punish water like I punished everything else.

I can successfully punish water.

I'm good at punishing Brono Trigger says seven months into Krono Trigger's thirtieth anniversary year and still no news on the various projects, Squarenigs has planned.

Maybe news that the direct Mobo.

Speaker 1

Yeah, at least we like, you know, at the time, I thought it was all leading up to the announcement of a remake, but we had some nice fom Fantasy nine art in merchers.

Speaker 3

Yes, at least they acknowledged it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3

Do you think they're being coy with Chrono Trigger where they're like they maybe they do have plans for that, and so they're trying to not step on those toes.

I guess they were.

They would probably be playing it up so they could build up the anticipation even if it was like five years away or something like that.

Speaker 1

It's weird because, like you know, I always think these anniversaries aren't as big a deal as people make the amount to be.

But I mean, it happened in March two was the anniversary, and I you know what, if I bet I've forgotten they did do some things.

I don't think they're going to suddenly announce of remaster or remake or something of crona trigger this year.

I think they just don't really have much to say.

And I bet maybe they're like, oh, if we tease too much, people are gonna expect that, and we're not doing that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I think your anniversaries are like it's like Gandalf the Gray.

It's like it's it's there the precisely the right amount of excitement that these companies need to either sell us something or to ignore it because they don't have anything to sell us, so like they always just choose how much it actually matters in the moment.

All right, Uh, ep idiot box, we've all gone about this the wrong way.

Mike, May we please have a mug?

We really want to drink from something with your face on it?

Pretty please?

No, guys, we're gonna have to do something.

Speaker 5

Sure, he hates Wait, this is important because he hates mugs more than he loved himself, which is he loves himself.

Speaker 3

He doesn't want to taint his face with the mug.

Right, Yeah, I just gonna.

Speaker 1

Break I know what you're gonna do with that mug of my face on it.

Speaker 3

Ep Adated Box again says I'm assuming you still said no, you got me?

Oh man, that's fun.

Uh the Uncharted Wolf.

Why do you all think people get so upset if you compare anything to Souls or say souls elements?

Do they not understand how influential Dark Souls.

Speaker 1

Was because the thing that they like is really special, and for some reason they think it's away from the specialness of it if you compare to something else, even when your game is in a genre called metroid vein.

Yeah, everybody wants the thing that they like the most to be the most unique and the thing that's influencing influencing other people.

I was even a little guilty of it.

I was like, I don't know why people talk about much of this game is like Dark Souls.

Then I was playing again, I was like, there's a lot of that DNA here even more than I remembered.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you know, like I said, I was telling you the other day, like the sampling theorem is in my head all the time.

It's like they're just they're sampling dark souls at a really low rate, that's all.

It's like just picking a few things here or there that serve them, and it's not fully recreating the dark soul's experience, but it's certainly sampling those elements to add flavor.

I yeah, Mike Scott, it it's about feeling special and imagining a perfect creative angel, producing an idea out of thin air, because somehow that makes everything more important than if it's in conversation with other things that exist.

It's I think it's mostly from people who do not understand the way art works, and that all artists are constantly consuming all kinds of other art, including mostly for everyone alive right now, garbage just garbage TV and garbage movies, and we're just spending time with our families watching nothing on TV.

And that stuff also influences all these things, which is why it's like so many Japanese games in the eighties, Head Terminator just in their game, that's just the Terminator and Spider Man swinging around.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm talking about Shanobi now, Yeah, game game is great, amazing if like Shuobi too, spider Man and Batman were just in it with Godzilla.

Speaker 3

Yeah right, if they had DLC, that just was those bosses that would fucking own.

Speaker 1

It was the wowest thing.

How they're just eventually they had rights to spider Man, so they okay there, but Batman, Like, how would that change that sprite?

Speaker 3

Mm hmm right, they just like Batman's that's Zilla and it hasn't changed.

They just got a little bit better at hiding it.

Like that's the reality.

Speaker 1

It's that same energy.

Speaker 3

It's the same energy to this day, across the board in every development region in the entire world.

Speaker 5

Give you an example that the latest count writer they do the intro to that to that show is the double oh seven like they shoot it through the thing.

She's the same.

His name is double code name seven, Like he's right there.

They do it all the time.

Speaker 3

They just made everyone just wants to make their ship.

Yeah that they like, Wow, how much the number seven is coming up on the show.

Outside of just that thing will fall the sevens earlier, we're starting maybe this is the new Minati curse number.

Who knows.

Speaker 1

We'll see seven months into kroner Trigger's anniversary of.

Speaker 3

UH and then Laosian says, guys, have you seen the gamer Nexus d m C A GPU video?

Speaker 1

I have not yet.

Speaker 3

I will check it out, though, I wonder what happened there.

I don't even have ye don't have any idea what happened.

I know gamers Nexus.

I'll watch their stuff sometimes, but I'll take a look.

I wonder did they get d m c A for covering the GPU.

I don't know.

I'll look into it and report back.

Maybe next episode, Mike.

That does it for the super chats.

Let's go back to you fantastic.

Why don't we take another break?

I think I hear the mailman's truck approaching, So there you go, get a dog to attack him and bring me letters.

Just even though the mailman's coming to hand them to me.

Anyway, we're gonna hurt him.

He might super house this time.

Speaker 1

Yeah, he might be justified at this point.

All right, we'll be right back everybody.

Jeff Grove, there's a mailman on the loop.

Become a dog bite news caboose.

Speaker 3

I've become dog bite noise, bite noise, good bites.

All right, thank you.

Speaker 1

We've got a mail bag here from our lovely Patreon supporters.

You can be a Patreon supporter to go to patreon dot com.

Slash gay mess gets you access to special privileges, including sending in these mail back questions like this one from Jim Jim Jim, Hey Dogs, quick game of sequel, remake or switch to edition for the next entry in these series.

Okay, this is interesting, so I'm gonna name a saiously say if you think it's gonna a sequel, a remake, or just a switch to upgrade next for the next entry.

Speaker 3

Okay, all right, Zelda, all right, Zelda is going to get the next thing will be a remake, because we already got the switch to editions of Breath of the Wild and UH and Tiers of the Kingdom and the sequels a long ways off.

They will find a way to do a remake.

Actually, I think the next thing is probably like an HD release or something like that, but or spin off.

Speaker 1

We'll include remasters and remake categories.

Speaker 3

Okay, well then how about like a I know, we just got Echoes of of Wisdom or whatever, so that's unlikely, but something along those lines.

Would you count that as a sequel or a spin off or if.

Speaker 1

It's if it was something new on the tier of echoes was and that'd be a sequel for sure.

Speaker 3

I still think it's a remake Slash remaster.

Speaker 1

I think so too.

And I don't know if you know win Waker, Charlie Purnsass things you know, might be awkrint of Time again, something like that Animal Crossing.

That's just sequel, right, We're just gonna expect they're not going to make a switch to edition of New Horizons.

It's just going to be the next Animal Crossing.

Speaker 3

Yep.

I think that's a sequel.

And I think it's uh first two years of the switch to so pretty soon Smash Brothers.

Speaker 1

I mean, there's no NSO here, So let's forget about some i S firsts coming to sixty four.

If we're expecting this one's weird because I think we'll get a sequel that is also a lot like a switch to edition in some ways.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, I would.

Yeah, it's gonna be a definitive, definitive, definitive edition of Ultimate Where's it'll have all the DLC.

They will make some changes like some small changes, but mostly it's still going to be Ultimate.

And then they might set it up so oh, who knows, maybe they do another season of DLC characters.

I would be surprised if they did that, but they might.

Yeah, it'll be it'll be ultimate, and that'll give that that team or whatever team ends up doing that next one of those, yes, or years and years and years of runway to be able to make the next one of those for like four years, five years into the Switch twos life.

That that sounds about right to me.

Speaker 1

Maybe I don't know.

I think we get whatever the Smash Brothers is for this console within a year or two, and it's going again.

It's just it's going to be kind of promoted as the new Smashbers game and it will largely be that, but it's going to just look a lot like all still but maybe thinking I don't know.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I mean, I think Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Deluxe with everything on the card would go, like, would sell very well, Like people would be very excited for that.

Speaker 1

I guess what throws me off this.

I was so sure that we were going to just get Smash Brothers for we you uh, you're right at the point on the switch and then right like what they did.

Speaker 3

I think you were just one off.

I think you're just one off as all.

Yeah, that's just one off.

Speaker 1

That's fair.

Speaker 3

Luigi's Mansion, Luigi's Mansion.

The next thing we see there's a sequel.

Yeah, it's going to switch to edition of Luigi's Mansion three.

Speaker 1

Maybe they could do that because they could announed that they could trust that this week.

That actually would be a pretty good one.

And I would like an excuse to play Luigi's Mansion three again.

Speaker 3

Yeah, that game sold really well too.

Speaker 1

Yeah game you think no dec I think it would just be up trade.

I mean they could do something.

They add two player co op move Guigi.

They could do a DLC campaign.

I gosh, But again, it seems like it does feel like luigis mentioned four.

Isn't that far away within the next couple of years, maybe maybe three.

But I can also see a switch to edition of it.

Hmm, I'll throw I'll throw it out.

Speaker 3

I'll say, switch to edition of Luigi's Mansion three, and very soon I like it.

Speaker 1

Kirby, let's let's not count air Riders.

Of course, we already next to the Kurby game after that year.

Speaker 3

That's so tough.

It could be anything here.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well we already had to switch to edition of Forgotten Land.

We have air riders.

Speaker 3

I don't think, right, I guess so maybe switch to editions the least likely for the next though, But I.

Speaker 1

Know what it is.

There's Room of a Planet, Robobot Green make back a while ago.

There you got, we got tripled, I mean we gotturned to Dreamland or whatever that one's called.

Yeah, so we'll get maybe triple the de lux also, but yeah, Plant Robot, the three d S games.

One of those three d S games will be remade next, right, they were.

Speaker 3

Doing some of the other three, yes, like you were just saying they were doing the other ones for that trilogy or whatever.

So yeah, that one's overdue.

Mario hmmm.

I think the next you know what, if they do Super Mario Maker two, Nintendo switch to edition, I would be very happy with that.

I'll say that's the like, switch Nintendo switch to edition.

Either that or wonder it's the next thing we get from Mario.

Speaker 1

I think our game Mario Maker three, Buddy, I'm gonna I'm gonna say it.

I'm gonna put that up there for you.

I think you're gonna now.

Also, though, just remember that that new Super Mario Brothers collection, which maybe was never really a rumor.

Maybe we're just guessing there, but that makes a lot of yeah whatever.

Speaker 3

It's still yeah, Like like whenever we talk about these rumors, I only ever talk about the ones that like make sense to me.

If like whether they're true or not, it's like, yeah, that sounds like something that should happen, So yeah, I could still see it.

Speaker 1

Maybe they would need to think about that Fourieth anniversar ory thing, even though, like like we said before, those are only as real as they need to be for marketing, right, but you know that could be a Morningmaker three.

But then they're going to kind.

Speaker 3

Of messic, I mean, to be fair, how real it needs to be for marketing is dictated by other things other than just how they're feeling.

Like you said, they have to have something ready.

Well, they are going to have something ready for Mario the movie next year, and they want to have all the stuff sort of orbiting that and then kind of one feeding back into the others.

So I do think they will try to make as big of a deal out of this forty anniversary as they possibly can.

Will they be able to pull some stuff out of a hat and have it ready?

Speaker 4

I don't know.

Speaker 3

Some of these things make sound like they'd be.

Speaker 1

Pretty easy to pull off, to say remake or remaster, just because I mean, sometimes they come out of nowhere, like who would have I never would have thought were gonna get a Mario RPG remake.

Yeah, a thousand year door remakes.

So it could be some Mario game not even expecting to get a remake gets announced soon, you know, So I guess I'll go there.

Because the three D Mario games a while away, uh for you know, at least a bit away.

Even the Wonder sequel certainly a bit of way.

So yeah, maybe maybe it could be a new paper Mario, right, that could be a thing, I suppose, I don't know, remake or remaster seems most likely to me, I think, els.

Do you think there's a switch we had a patch for Odyssey?

Is there a switch to edition of Odyssey with like some more meaningful I mean there.

Speaker 3

Yeah, there could be I think there.

I mean I think that they are much much much closer to a new three D Mario, even though it's probably still far off.

Than a new two D Mario.

So to me, that says Super Mario Brothers Wonder gets a Nintendo switch To edition, so they could sell that thing to all these people picking up switch To this holiday.

Honestly, I like, if I had to like like make my predictions and we had money on the line, MIC and like I had to like make like a relatively bold one for hey, come up with a Nintendo switch To edition, I would put Super Mario a Wonder in there as.

Speaker 2

My guess, okay, and that Pickman switch To edition of Pickman four would be I would be awesome, And really that's awesome just to have the excuse to play it again.

Speaker 3

Yeah, the game looked great on Switch one, but I bet I bet they could like higher resolution four K like that would be fantastic for that game.

Actually, there's a ton of little details in there.

I hope that's what what is next, and I think it will be.

Speaker 1

I mean, I think, you know, we'll probably get a Pickman five at some point for the switchhoot, but later just like I'll Pickman four was a pretty late Switch one game.

Speaker 3

Yeah, That's that's one where it's like that audience is only so large globally, it grew huge in Japan.

You know, it's not Splatoon, but it's like it really popped off with this last one.

And now Pickmen are like like a tertiary mascot now for Nintendo.

But I think that that doesn't mean that they won't want to wait until later in the generation where they could sort of maximize the install base for a Pickman.

Speaker 1

Phil Okay, so next up is sort of Jamie H one two two fours's apologies for recycling a question I asked VGC, But I'm generally curious if your answers are different.

Only one of these games can get a Kirby Slash Mario Party style expansion, another gets the Zelda style performance and fidelity boost, or may er get nothing.

What are you picking the options hereup?

These games we just talked about for these kind of things are Lugi's mentioned three, Pickman four, and Super Mario Wonder Interesting?

Speaker 3

Okay, so nothing a Zelda style performance and fidelity boost or a full on expansion a la Kirby.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Okay, hmm, I am actually gonna go nothing for Wonder.

I like, what do I think it looks like?

It's fine performance?

This one's hard I think I would do performance for Pickment four an expansion for Lugi's Mansion three.

Speaker 3

I'm with you, like if I mean, now with the caveat that that expansion for Luigi's Mansion three is treated very much as an appetizer for a four that is not going to come later because they did DLC for three and now we have to wait five more years for Luigi's Mansion four, which I think is I think they want to get a new Luigi's Mansion now, so I don't think that would be a problem.

But overall, yeah, that would be my response as well.

Speaker 1

Mike, Yeah, it's kind of it's close between Pickman four and three for me.

Wonders for sure, Okay, I feel then here's what VDC said.

All three VGC members picked expansion for wonder I actually wouldn't hate that, and it's easier one to do probably in a lot of ways, you just add another set of levels, especially if it was kind of like, you know, the more you know this is like the challenge pack, because I did think one, yeah, easy, so I will oh yeah, for sure, that'd be great performance boost for Pickman and nothing for the Luigi's Mansion.

I mean, I don't think you can go wrong either way here for sure all three games that I would like to see stuff like that for Yep, Tommy Peel says, I need to apologize to Grub.

He used to think it was hyperbolic and a little silly when he said he cried when he got the double jump in I understand how though I got the double jump in Silk Song, And now I just understand.

Speaker 3

It's I mean, when you are moving through these metroid venue worlds and you just are sort of in your head clocking each time you pass something, You're like, I know when I get you know X, I'm gonna be able to come back here and just master this whole place.

And you know, whether that's the wall jump or any number of other things, it's just double jump is so visceral, and you just see it everywhere as you're moving about.

And now you're like, I like, I struggled through this world, and now I will come back and be dominant of it.

It is a cool and good feeling.

Speaker 1

We'll say, primess wellf fluff to my dogs, Mike and Jeff.

Your transport to the distant lands of Hollow NIGHTE what be your bug sona and what your personality be like in such environs.

Uh, I like this.

I do not care about for Sona's I love the idea of a bug, Sona sure can I be one of the what are the bugs with the rhinoceros beetle?

I want to be a rhinoceros beetle.

That's a good like Brad, not bread dirt like Garrett Brad Garrett, Garrett.

Speaker 3

Brad Brad Garrett.

Right.

Speaker 1

Yeah, in a bug's life, I would be like him.

I also might be a whimp like him too.

Just be that character from a bug's life, the big guy who's scared.

Speaker 3

H Rhinoceros beetles are fantastic.

They are extremely strong, like even like you know, like oh proportional strength.

The bugs like that ant can carry out like ten times its own body weight or whatever.

A rhinoceros beetle you can like watch actually carry a giant rock and it's like, how could it possibly do that?

That thing is so much heavier than It's like, I know, they're just that strong.

Speaker 5

I used to I used to have like a bunch of I used to get a little tiktoks about a guy that will like rice, those those bugs and like sell them for a lot of money like a Japanese guy.

Speaker 6

They did look insane.

They grow huge.

Speaker 3

Yes, they're awesome looking.

We went to a butterfly house in Traverse and they had like in their vestibule, a bunch of other bugs, including several different like there's like tens of thousands of different species of beetles, and they had several different kinds of rhinoceros beetle or rhinoceros like beetles.

It was very cool for me.

I would probably do, you know, if not rhinoceros beetle.

I think that's a really good answer.

I would do like a hornet, or like a wasp or something something that can fly and sting.

That's fun, that's cool.

Speaker 1

You'd be a steak bug is yes, stinky?

WHOA got them all right?

Joysi says hello, Mike Milf Minati and Jeff gilf Grub in honor of a silk song, please rank the Falling Nights now.

Jeff, there are fifteen of these.

We probably can't rank them, but what I want you to do is pick only three.

I'm gonna say fifteen.

You aren't gonna be able to keep three of these, so keep this in mind as I lean these.

Speaker 3

All right, I'm looking.

Speaker 1

Here's the Knights, Hollow Night, Shovel Night, Meta Night Night from Chess, The Dark Knight aka Batman, the bud Night from bud Light Commercials, Shire Wars, Dark Forces Too, Jedi Knight, l It's a Lot, The Lock from the Knights of the Round Table, Sir Patrick Stewart, Okay, Sir Austin Danger Powers, Black Bet two thousand the Pinball Table with an incredible theme song, Black Knight, the two thousand and one Martin Lawrence movie, The Isa Guy, Common Rider Knight, The Dude Ragon is from Common Ryder Riuki Vegas, Golden Knights, and Wayne Knight.

Speaker 3

Oh wow, this is tough, so I'm probably gonna keep Let's see here.

The first two are looking pretty important, but there's several human beings I kind of want to save on this list.

Speaker 1

Okay, look, you're not saving them from.

Speaker 3

Are they gonna They're not gonna die?

Speaker 1

Be clear.

I don't know where you got this idea.

I don't pick don't get killed.

Speaker 3

If I don't pick Patrick Stewart, He's gonna be okay.

Speaker 1

Okay, he feelings might be hurt.

You didn't pick him, but.

Speaker 3

You said, I get you said I only get to keep three, and that made me sound like I'll never like, he'll just be zapped from reality.

Speaker 1

I'm sorry I put that fear in you.

Speaker 3

Jeff, thank you be okay right.

In that case, I'll keep Hollow Nights, Shovel Night, and Wayne Night.

There we go.

Speaker 5

I copy and pasted like the image for the comrade at night, so.

Speaker 3

You that guy looks pretty awesome, but he's no way night.

Speaker 1

Gosh.

I might have to do Shovel Night, Star Wars Dark Forces to Jedi Night.

Answer Patrick Stewart, I don't want Patrick Sewart to die.

Why you said he wasn't gonna die?

Answer truthfully you except from the entire wolf let up, loud Dog and quiet Dog.

I wonder too.

Oh my god, would you guys say you enjoy playing games more at this point in your life than you ever had before?

If not, when would you say you liked playing games the most?

How about the least?

Speaker 4

Now?

Speaker 1

I am.

I am liking video games as much as I ever have right now, and I've liked video games for a long time.

That's yeah.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you know, as I grow, video games continue to grow and get or or I'm like recognizing that there are pockets of games where it's like, oh, I get to do fun, creative stuff in this genre and this other genre just serve me up that good slop that someone just worked really hard on, and I can get in there, get an experience, and get in out, get in and get out, and I'll be really happy with that.

There's just so many different kinds of games that can serve any mood that I happen to be in.

I am also enjoying games more than I ever have been.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I don't know there's a period of time where I was not enjoying them.

I remember there's one time when he was in college where AJ was like, yeah, I just think I'm not really as into games as I, uh as I used to be, and I don't.

I don't think he thought it was that big oh that devastated me, scared me and devastated me because but I I didn't have a similar experience.

I played a ton of video games when I was in college.

That's why I beat one hundred and three or something Xbox three sixty games around.

So yeah, I've always just like playing video games, and I just continue to like doing it.

Screaming Matt says, hey there, Mike, My NFL team lost to George Clooney's team and Naughty and Jeff.

My college team lost to Jim Ross's team.

Grub I just beat Shinobi art Avengeance.

I haven't played many twenty twenty five games.

It's my gody so far.

That has me thinking between the announced Sega games from the Legacy initiative, which game is most likely to release next?

Right, So, the Legacy Initiative still includes uh, the that jet set Radio, the Crazy Taxi, the Streets of Rage, and the Gotlet Buggy on the name, the Golden Axe, Golden Axe, thank you yea.

So it's it's hard to say because like Golden X and Streets of Rage are the smaller scale ones.

Speaker 3

Right, Shanoby I did feel like we saw the most of in that original five game announcement.

It felt like Shanoby looked the realist to me.

There, I'm trying to think what was the second realist looking game in that teaser, and nothing's like actually popping to mind.

Speaker 1

I don't know, Yeah, it's it really feel like it could be, and I kind of hope it's one of the bigger ones.

I mean, you know, I'm incredibly skeptical of that Streets of Rage.

We just got a very good one of these from Lizard Cube, and what they showed I was like, Oh, that's what I would have expected modern Streets of Rage to look like instead of the surprisingly great game we got with Streets of Rage four God Golden X.

Maybe maybe we will get that jet Set Radio game soon.

I think that'd be awesome.

I'm really beving to see what that looks like.

Speaker 3

I lean towards Crazy Taxi next.

That one feels like you just kind of know what to make with that, but maybe not.

I don't know.

Speaker 1

The whole thing was like Crazy taxis.

Speaker 3

That they're like the game.

Speaker 1

I know, but I'm like, what that mean?

Speaker 3

It might need my guess is the reason I said crazy texts.

I think that doesn't mean ship Mike.

I think that doesn't mean anything.

Yeah, I just think they're just saying stuff because they sometimes they talk to investors and they got to say something.

Speaker 1

All right, always be clothing says, when's the last time a Vegan character has made you sad?

Shout out to Haru Aura boy faking characters.

I mean, there was I got sad about that anime girl and that demon slayer Mario parkame because I read her or wiki later, right, So that was not too much feeling bro feelings.

I like my feelings, I guess, but yeah, sometimes they make you sad.

That's okay to be sad.

It's okay, it's okay to crow millions.

Speaker 3

Wasn't it wasn't the bird thing a pretty sad thing in Or two?

Speaker 1

Oh there was a sad bird in or too.

Speaker 3

Yeah, like he like he was like filled with rage and he couldn't quite deal with it, right that.

I'm like remembering the themes that game, but I remember being like, that makes me sad for this creature, and the game wanted me to be sad about it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, spoilers for Too.

But when you kind of like beat him, he just kind of like goes and huddles by the corpses of his parents and died.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, that's sad that I don't get.

Speaker 6

Embarrassing to add me but fucking no metal here, solitary got me good.

Speaker 1

So oh yeah, yeah I saw three.

It's good for that.

I mean, I'm sure there was.

There was definitely moments of metaphor that wors High's Masa stuff and metaphor actually got me pretty recently.

That's a good Oh yeah, that's a good example of it.

So yeah, all the stuff with yeah his son that was absolutely and good stuff.

Speaker 3

Infinite Wealth had several sidequests where things were pretty emotionally that's good points.

Speaker 6

Yeah, jack this is full of that stuff.

Speaker 1

Yes, yeah, uh, Lauris says, plus check on Week one of the NFL.

Well, our fantasy teams are doing good.

Speaker 3

Yes, and that's what matters, but nothing else does, that's for sure.

Yeah.

I was like trying to check the league and like seeing like how I was doing.

I think I had the second best total points and I didn't play Deebo Samuel who would have I think made me number one?

So good?

Strong first start?

You had Derreck Henry last year, right, or did you have even though you had Jackson for sure?

Speaker 6

Right?

Speaker 1

Lamar Jacks?

I never remember, right class.

I think I had Ceedee Lamb last year also, and I still have him this year.

Otherwise I don't remember.

Speaker 3

Yeah, Derek Hendrick, I think that's gonna be as long as he stays healthy.

I think I'm gonna be pretty good in my fantasy league.

And then who, I don't know who even has a pro team on that they are rooted for.

I certainly don't.

Speaker 1

That says what other games can you think of that came out at the same time as the quote unquote big game.

I mean I always think of Horizon, even though, like you know, those Horizon games also sold very well.

But in terms of our circle and like the games that are going to win Game of the Year, that first one came out around the same time was Breath of the Wild, and then for Benn and West came out around the same time as oldin Ring, and it was just like, oh, yeah, man, those those games came out, but I'm playing these other games.

It's did.

Speaker 3

Atari this week released a two D pixel art metrode vanea game, Mike, do you know what's what is it called?

It's called Adventure of Samsara.

Have you heard anyone say it that you wouldn't have it has?

Actually, let's check how many reviews does Hollow Night Silk Song have on Steam.

Let's see here Silk Song has, Oh they should have, oh, fifty thousand reviews.

Adventure of Samsara a game that I think looks pretty good.

Actually to this two D pixel art pretty hot.

It is fifteen reviews.

I think, yeah, I'm looking at this, this is fifteen.

Is that right?

Speaker 1

I said sixteen?

Speaker 3

Yeah, I said sixteen sixteen reviews.

Apparently we had like twelve concurrent players or something like that.

Uh yeah, that's that's where gaming's at right now.

You know.

It's there are the winners and then or there's the winner singular and so so so many losers.

It's rough stuff up.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they they should have released this case.

Speaker 3

They shouldn't.

They should not.

They should have delayed it for sure.

They should have did the thing where they're like, hey, we are delaying the game because the Silk Song, Yeah came out September fourth, So yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1

Woof, that's rough stuff.

Speaker 3

I will uh, I'm gonna check the game out at some point.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that is I just as wild.

I feel bad, all right.

Next one here is from Christy K.

If you were a little freaking Silk Song, what kind of little freak would you be?

As a similar to the super chat we already got.

So yeah, I'm going I'm gonna stick with my rhinoceros.

But I like rhinoceroses too, top tier animal.

Speaker 3

And bug yeah for sure.

Uh yeah, I would just be like, uh, i'd like the little sing song guy.

Everyone does.

I know it's basic, but he's fantastic.

Speaker 1

Blaze and Noa's has picked up a link between worlds last week and I'm having a blastward as a rink on your All Time Zetals.

It's definitely in the top five.

It's so freaking good.

That's a game I desperately want to play through again, honestly.

Speaker 3

Yeah, that's when I replay every three ish years.

Uh, It's I think that is one of the like stickiest games of you pick it up and you start playing, you are not putting it down until you're done because it just goes.

It's got great pacing.

It feels so good to move link around in that game.

Actually, it's he's got a really good like walking speed.

I like that game a whole bunch.

Top five easily.

I'd had to like really look at the list to commit any higher than that, but I could see it easily in the top three exactly.

Speaker 1

The same way it was, like, you know, depending on the day, like when Wakers my favorite, and then there's like probably four between refle Waltres, the Kingdom, This and Link to the Pass that are fighting well for like those next four spots, and I don't know what the order is, but this one, this one could be in the top three even very easy.

Speaker 3

It is fantastic games, like probably in my top twenty, in my top one hundred list, if not my top ten.

It's very very good.

Speaker 1

Ted Derek says, what do you consider be the most important and or influential seven out of ten game in video game history?

Speaker 3

Bred Dead Redemption too?

Speaker 1

Probably not so you admit it's influential.

Speaker 3

Actually, that's the thing.

It's not very influential because who else can make a game like that?

Speaker 1

You actually literally can't influence much.

Speaker 3

Uh yeah, I don't know.

This is a tough one.

Speaker 1

It's like I could be a stinker and say Golden Eye, but you know, I don't.

I don't know if even I could like give it a seven, right, It's difficult because it's like, boy, how many sevens do I really think about that much?

Speaker 4

I have?

Speaker 1

I have a ranking thing I could look at all the good because I gave seven.

Speaker 6

To actually ruin gaming for everybody.

Speaker 1

Actually, that's not that's a pretty decent answer.

Speaker 3

That's not bad.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't, especially like you're talking about the launch version of the that game that's probably oh yeah, he.

Speaker 6

Was the game seven out of ten game I remain Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I kind of like that now, trying.

Speaker 6

To specifically get holding the bottom pollution.

Speaker 1

That was, I'm like, so I probably don't watch everyone.

Simon just looks through all of my games that have three out of five stars on Infinite backlog dot com.

See which one I think is.

I don't think we need to go someone the weeds here.

But now I'm like, and yet and yet, so I persist.

Alright, alright, alright.

Next up is bar Spackle Starfucks game, where it's a four X game and the planets are all tiles on a map to control with their own unique bonuses, combat, counter, zoom in, and our mini sixty four style.

The procedural STARFUCKX vehicle sections andrest offers you the works of Jane Austen for twenty horses and open borders.

Starbucks two is kind of like this right in Starbucks Command a little bit.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I definitely think that there are ways to make Starfucks work by bringing in other ideas, and you know, making another Rogue Light would be very cool.

Make you sure make a four X game.

I'll take it.

I think you know that you'd be soft toys to life game.

I'm going to try to remember the name, but not like literally a completely blank in my brain right now.

But oh Starlink, Starlink, Starlink, Yes, thank you starlink.

That is I that's a good sort of blueprint for like how it can feel modern in terms of the gameplay, like an open world star fucks.

I don't know if I need open world star fucks, but maybe open zone stuff, maybe some exploration.

But yeah, they could figure that out.

I wish they would.

Speaker 1

I say that I gave Kenneth's Bike three and a half stars back when I did this, and after playing it today that was incorrect.

I gotta get bump that baby up to four.

Anyways.

The next up here is from James Pies.

Is the era of dedicated handheld games over for Nintendo with repairs shutting down for the two DS and say the Saint Nintendo is out of ever Mickey and handheld only system.

Gan can't wait for the switch to light for my little hands.

I mean, I mean, I think it's been over right.

You'll get boutique things like those little game and watch who'sy?

What's it?

Maybe you'll get some kind of game Boy mini adjacent thing, something cute like that.

But no, there's never gonna be something that is an equivalent of a Nintendo three DS in terms of you know what that meant to them at the time.

Speaker 3

Again, yeah, I could see them like doing another tier up from those bespoke handhelds, like one that has many more games or maybe even its own shop.

But this is something they might try years and years from now.

It's not We're not We're under no threat of that happening anytime soon.

Speaker 1

No, absolutely not.

I'm okay with it.

I don't know.

Speaker 3

I like, yeah, I don't want them to split up their dev teams, that's all.

I don't want them to have to support multiple systems.

Speaker 1

Next, it was Lenny Cool to Denver Hey, Jeff the lines of it once since I said, I'm from Ohio, Grubb and Mike the Browns are y, I'm bald manaughty and it doesn't announce and he switched to versus such one games at the upcoming of ten direct is my quest for sixty fps Paper Mario and Zeno Blade Dead where they just announced those on a random Wednesday.

Afterwards, Guys, I haven't thought about that.

Boy, I sure I got over it one thousand year door and that I loved that remake a ton, but it would still make my heart sore a little bit to see that running at sixty frames per second.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I you know, Zeno Blade, like, there was all that talk about there's a sixty frames per second mode.

Now, maybe that was just dev testing stuff and we all made too big of a deal out of it, but it's a good idea.

Nintendo do it.

Speaker 1

If they should just be like, yeah, here's your's frame rate bruister patches or additions for all the Zeno Bye games.

At the very leasy Crunkles X, which is not a very old game.

Speaker 3

Every game that sold more than a million copies on Switch one should that's a first party game, should just get some treatment to be the best it can be on Switch.

Speaker 1

To input name here?

Who is your favorite little guy in the hall night Lore the Vibe with Niedma Buciat from the Mantis area area.

I really like Sherma Sherman, the little the girl with the hat that's singing.

I think it's a girl.

I don't know.

Yeah, just very cheerful, seems oblivious to the dangers around them, just a yeah.

Speaker 3

I just what do I have to worry about it?

You're taking care of everything.

They're just singing their song at the door, and you're opening the door for him.

It's all good that.

Speaker 1

He's opened the door.

It's like Holllight did that too.

And they're so good at it.

At just like having a kind of cast of characters and something to sort of see around here and there.

Sometimes they might even help you fight all of a sudden, And I love when that happens.

Speaker 3

When I so she was singing at the door, and I go and I'm just sorry, I'm sure i'mming open this door.

I went around, I got on the other side.

I heard her sing, and I realized what was happening.

So as the door was opening, there was a way to jump up and go around and like come up behind her.

So I just I did that real quick so she wouldn't see me there, so she could believe that she opened the door with her singing, like even more.

Speaker 1

Like I like you're an angel, I role played like.

Speaker 3

I was just like I want I want this to be perfect for her.

I don't want to ruin her little world.

And I was just like, oh yeah, I was basically like walked up behind her like you did it.

Good job, that was.

It was fun.

I like that game.

Speaker 1

She must be protected, yes, exactly, yeah, those wars.

But like I'll just say, there's a Horror Night character that I that was blowd by everybody.

They don't make it.

So look, maybe there's one of those in here, but you leave Sherman.

That would be cheabsolutely not.

Speaker 3

That's cheap heat.

You don't need cheap heat.

Hollow Night's Silk song, absolutely not.

Speaker 1

Uh bikes and Bruce says, are at we still confident matches coming out this year?

Pretty confident I.

Speaker 3

Think, Yeah, my comment about anything, but this one I'm relatively confident about.

Speaker 1

I want to chat.

Said that it got rated in Brazil today also, right, so it's like I mean the es RB, you know, I mean, come on, I hope we see that thing.

If not like soon soon still this year, still December.

I mean, look, look if it gets delayed till January, February, March, I'll be okay, but I would like to see that this show.

Speaker 3

You know what, what all I want is a date, even if the date, I want a specific date, even if that date is in twenty twenty six, just give me a date this week.

Speaker 1

Dan's doing pretty good Fantacy Creig since he had soilk song.

By the way, and if Patrock Prime also got delayed, god, I can't imagine.

Yep, all right, Ali Miracle says, any old odd Switch one officer oddballs you're checking out in the switch shoo to use it more.

I went back and revisited Choke about Racing GP now now that the weird battle passion has gone and there's Hella fon Facy nine Wow and theater Rhythm final bar line.

But I hate it.

I hated Choke about Racing GP, but even the Fabasy Night, so I'm gonna get back back in.

But theater Rhythm final bar line rules.

That is a fantastic Switch one game.

Gosh, Oddballs are goose, not a not a ton.

I had that weird period there where I was going back through the older Splittoon games when I was killing time.

But no, nothing, nothing on the level of a Chocobo Racing GP.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I uh, there's one that I just kind of dabble in all the time, part time UFO from Hal It's just like a little you play us like a UFO, but it's also a Ufo Catcher like a little claw machine guy, and you got to pick up the whole things and build like rebuild statues for museums.

And those are the levels and you go on to the next challenge.

It's a cute game, sweet little physics puzzler.

Uh, and it's one that I've never beaten.

So I've just kind of done a few levels at a time, and now that I have the switch to out all the time, occasional occasionally I'll play some of that, all right.

Speaker 1

Next one here is from Michael O'Reilly.

Do the Ten Dogs get as deflated as I do when I see a game releasing on Switch without switch to release upgrade.

I was looking forward to the new Katamari, but doesn't appear to have switched to addition come in the immediate future.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It bothers me.

Yeah, yeah, it bums me out.

It's often I'm like, oh, maybe I won't be getting that on the Switch.

It bummed me out with everybody's golf recently.

Oh it's just I bet that game was the Switch one game.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it's with the not handing out enough SDKs for developers to be able to actually get their games running natively on the switch to.

Speaker 1

Uh.

Speaker 3

But yeah, I'm still deflated.

And it's a shame because it's these games that will get punished because I won't I just won't buy them for the most part.

You know that said, A lot of these games do still run better with their Switch one version on switch to.

But if we're just talking about spending money, like I love to have those updates for games I already own, I don't know how much money I'm going to be spending on the switch one game just because it runs a little bit better on the switch.

Speaker 1

All right now, Then Yenko says, the game of the Year is seeming less guarantee as year goes on.

Is there a more sure bet in video games this year?

Then cl Clio Scire will win Best Abut at the Indie at the Game Wards.

Oh, is that gonna be up for Best Indie Debut?

Speaker 3

It could be.

I mean, there's gonna be I bet there's gonna be some people that I don't know.

It's so hard to predict that.

I was gonna say there's gonna be people who don't think about that for Best Debut Indie.

But what do I know?

Yeah, that could happen.

It's you know, is it really indie?

It does have a publisher kind of right, I don't know, it's so confused.

Speaker 1

That's sorry.

I mean, are you still feeling like clarif Skier is?

Yeah, pretty much do And even with all this soaksong business.

Speaker 3

That's my real response to this is I don't think there's more of a lock than Expedition thirty three four Game of the Year.

I think everything else will sort of eat into each other and it'll be so easy to just look around and be like, yeah, but Expedition thirty three is as good as the rest of these.

In some ways, I like it better because X or why or Z and it's fresh and original and out of nowhere.

And sure it's maybe not fresh and original because it pulls a lot of stuff from other gfborgs, but it's doing that in a way that still feels fresh.

Because like Square Nix isn't doing that anymore, we can go to this team doing it and they're doing it better than maybe Squirreennocks ever has.

That's just all those factors play together.

It's it's a lock that game is winning Game of the Year.

Speaker 1

I was looking through on my seven out of ten's in a backlog, and Christian was right.

Destiny one is the most influential seven out of ten of all time.

Speaker 3

I think that that's the answer for sure.

Speaker 1

Keywork says, my partner's out of town for a week, and I had a thought, if you're alone in your house, is there a reason to close the bathroom door?

Thanks?

There is one rule I have in my house when guests are here, actually, and it's closed the bathroom door.

Because if the bathroom door is open, Penny will get in there and chew up the toilet paper.

So there's the reason why the bathroom door should be closed.

Speaker 3

Still I in this house right now, the rule is, Hey, are you in the bathroom dead?

We're gonna open the door and have a conversation with you.

So I don't give a shit anymore.

Leave the door open.

Speaker 1

Who currently you are giving a shit?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

I'm giving a ship.

Yes, and everyone knows about it.

Speaker 1

And all right.

That does that for the mail bag.

Thank you so much.

Everybody will take one more break.

Speaker 3

Boy.

Speaker 1

We talked about Silksung a lot.

We'll see there's aything else Wenna talking about Nintendo wise, but we got some more super chests to read as well as we'll come back.

We'll close things off here, we'll well, you know, party, we'll dance, we'll kiss, snuggle and see you later.

Speaker 3

I'm sorry, explain, sorry everybody, all.

Speaker 1

Right, we are back.

I mean, Jeff, I didn't really play any other uh Nintendo games.

I would be remiss if I didn't bring up We are recording this on September ninth, which is a Dreamcast Day.

We had a fun time playing some Dreamcast games on giant bomb dot com today.

I also just got rewarded by trying to find a controller or something discovering a random plastic bag that like a thousand dollars worth of old games in, which was.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you just had tron bon in a bag, Mike, that's crazy.

Speaker 1

It's a decent shape.

Although I don't have that Mega Ma Religions to Demo disc so if I can find that, yeah, Cannon Spike, which I have everything, but the manual for is are actually also pretty expensive.

I found a person on Etsu just makes replica, Like, man, I'm not like, I'm not gonna sell this thing.

I just want it to look complete, so right, yeah, I bought that.

I bought this one.

See how it looks because I like that idea.

But I found, you know, I found my original Resident Evil remake for GameCube.

I found all of Skis of Arcadia for Dreamcasts complete and boxed there like and then like this little CD holder that has a bunch of just random Dreamcast and PlayStation games.

I have some of my Nampcom Museum games in here.

Right, there's the there's the C and the A.

Right.

So gosh, I was just a fight a speaking of streets of raids.

Look, it's fighting for us, everybody.

Yeah.

I bought Fighting Force from Circuit City because that's how old I am.

I dropped my GameCube game anyways, but I had a good time playing Dreamcast.

I'll tell you what.

The standouts from that for me was Cannon Spike, which is just this fun, weird arcade kind of top down shooter thing with a weird mismatch of random Capcom characters like Cammy and Mega Man and Arthur, and then Virtua Tennis just steal looks and feels immaculate.

Gush.

I could just play that forever.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I was.

I played a little bit more Dynamite Cop and boy that game's fun too.

That's a silly, silly beat him up one of the three D beat him ups and it's fun because it's like I'm like, I can't tell what I'm doing half the time, and somehow the character is just gonna do a triple souplex with some backflips in there.

That's cool.

I just like bad a lot.

And it looks like one of those name Naomi board arcade games, which I love the look of.

It's just like an all time arcade aesthetic for three D visuals.

So yeah, Dreamcast is a real cool system.

Still, I would love to live to the day where we see Dreamcast in NSO classics.

That would be a real fun time.

Speaker 1

Again like that.

Or see Sega do more Dreamcast ports or Dreamcast collection.

Speaker 3

I would, yeah, absolutely, I would show up for those.

Speaker 1

We got a Dreamcast Christmas ornament from Hallmark a couple of years ago, so clearly there's some kind of nostalgia market.

Speaker 3

For this thing, you know.

Even like if Sega did like some collections of their arcade games from past, like the super Scaler, well, don't do Superscaler stuff all in one collection and then do some Naomi board collections things like that, that would be awesome.

Speaker 1

I would remember all those ports that you put in a like a dragon Can we can we have those outside of them?

Please?

I would like to play Daytona two.

Speaker 6

Actually right?

Speaker 3

I like, yeah, you could like really charge like sixty dollars for like eight of those games in one of those collections.

Some ROMs come on, just do it.

That would be fantastic.

Speaker 1

But was there anything else Nintendo Whines that you played, Jeff, you wanted to talk about before we get to the rest.

Speaker 3

I mean, you know, I like, I've talked about it in a bunch of places now.

I talked about it last week, but but more I did play quite a bit more Star Wars Outlaws over the weekend.

I talk about it last week.

I talked about it somewhere.

Maybe it was Decides.

It's good.

It's really good on the switch too.

Speaker 2

It is.

Speaker 3

The thing is it is completely playable in terms of performance to the point where it's kind of miraculous, and it's miraculous in the way where it doesn't feel like a miracle.

It doesn't feel like, oh my god, I can't believe they squeezed this all down to the switch too.

It just feels like a normal video game running in a way that feels normal, and that is real nice because it's like I don't have to think about that stuff.

I'm just getting the real game experience here.

I look, if you have a way to play this game, like in the highest fidelity, and you're not someone that needs to play handheld, like I'm at this point in my life someone who needs to be able to play these games handheld, if I'm gonna be able to keep up with it.

You get a lot out of this game from the increased fidelity, and so maybe take advantage of that if you can.

But if you want it handheld, really your only option is switch too, and it's completely viable, a completely reasonable way to play it.

I have now played a huge chunk of the game that way and it yeah, looks and feels fantastic, So I would love to keep spending more time with it.

I'm just that's just not reasonable right now, but I'm glad to have it there.

I will keep it downloaded on the switch to and as we like get through some Game of the Year stuff, I might like finish that up around Christmas time.

Speaker 1

I do want to try this actually, So even even with this game coming out the same day as Silk Song, it seems like this port is still managing to make some noise, which is super impressive.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it is alleviating some anxieties people were having about the switch to because so many other ports were having issues and this game reportedly the week before, you know, people were seeing it at packs and it looked like dog shit, and so it's like that was lending to those anxieties.

And now that has completely cleared it up, and it's like, Okay, we know it's possible, So now it's just down to commit maybe hounding some of these developers that haven't necessarily realized they can get these games to run in a decent way on the switch to.

It does make me wonder.

It's like what did happen with Hitman?

And it's like maybe there's some other element there that is causing problems some CPU stuff.

I think it's probably just they didn't know the tricks of the trade when it came to the switch to yet, and maybe they'll be able to figure that out going forward.

Speaker 1

All right, Jeff, we got a few were super chats.

Would you read those please?

Speaker 3

Yes?

Let's see here.

I think we are on.

Yes.

Connell Wood, who says what's being teased on the bollatro Twitter account.

I have no idea.

I did not see anything from the Blattro Twitter account, like, did you see anything?

Speaker 1

No, Well, for one thing, I'm not a Twitter anymore, right, Yeah, I'm never checking other people's tweets ever.

Speaker 3

These days.

Speaker 1

It's Billotro game, the official one or is it tomorrow?

It says tomorrow, and there's like a winky joker.

I think they're gonna sell it.

Plushy is what looks like to me.

Is what I think is being a teaser.

But I don't know.

Speaker 3

Let's see here from Dubious Food Jeff Expedition thirty three update.

Yeah, I've definitely stalled on it because I'm playing so many other things, trying to keep up with some of these other games.

I am basically still in the same spot I was last time.

I was gonna like sit down and spend some more time with it, but then I kind of read some books, played some of that Star Wars Outlaws, and then I was gonna be like, Okay, now time to go back to Expedition, and instead the hype for Hollow Nights Silksong got me and I played that instead, and I'm glad.

I think it's the right move to play Silksong in this moment and then I'll go right back to Expedition thirty three.

It's just god, silk Soong is such a massive game.

But thankfully I'm I'm like really into it, so I could feel myself sort of rushing through it and get into the expedition.

But I continue to guarantee that I will finish Expedition thirty three here relatively soon, not just by Game of the Year time, but soon because there's some other games I want to clean up as well in the next month or so.

El Grugs says.

Did Mike ever get his helmet from Minati Hide Mike or is he just going to get creative with aluminum foil also Bakolar for four player co op Blake Club.

Yeah, well, uh, we will.

I think that's a good idea if he can do it.

He's usually sometimes busy on Wednesdays, but we'll see.

We'll try to make that happen.

Mike did find his helmet.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it turns out I was in there.

I'll tell you what.

There was like a second thing and a bag in there, and for some reason I was just stely like, oh, this is some kind of undershirt thing.

I don't mean, because it just looked like a white fabric.

Right after, I was like, oh, the hat's probably in here, so my my bad.

Everyone, I'll wear the helmet tomorrow.

You'll see it.

Speaker 3

Very excited.

Uh, all right, let's see here, Blake.

First question, has Mike made plans yet to go to Beak and Barrel.

Speaker 1

Bac and Barrel is the brand new barn lounge in Disney World, next to parts of the care Me, and it's super new.

It's prior to get a reservation.

I'm going to Disney in late November, so we're not able to make our reservations just yet.

We're going to try to get in there.

You know, we're hoping for the best.

It's difficult.

It's a very harvest vision to get right now.

Speaker 3

And then second question, how can I be there?

Hashtag Tokoto meet up when?

Speaker 1

I mean, I would love to do when I'll tell you if we did want in Florida, probably want to be at Beacon Barrel, a place that most people wouldn't be able to get into.

Also you would need a park ticket.

It would be something like somewhere in Disney Springs.

Even the idiot Jones Bar might be a good spot that might be caughtit that be fun.

It could be Splitsville.

Speaker 3

I don't know.

Speaker 1

We'd figure something out for that's.

Yeah, Disney Springs or even a city walk somewhere that everyone can get to.

Speaker 3

Mikey o'learly O'Leary says, still chuckling at Dan saying I took a night shower and a sauna and I slept great.

Yeah.

Bro, you fend your blood out a lot.

That makes you tired.

Yeah that sounds about right.

Uh yeah, probably just like dropped his blood pressure a ton, right.

JD camps is, Mike, will you get a peepot a mower not a p ands?

Speaker 1

Uh No?

I like, he's an app that just sends a person to a mic lawn every year.

Speaker 3

If it's working, yeah, I get it.

Job so well.

We tried to do that when we first moved here, and everywhere everyone was booked, so it's like, yeah, you can't do that.

I'm like, what the fuck?

All right, So we've settled on this solution instead, and I'm happy with it.

But if it was working for me, we never would have changed it in the first place.

I got another one here.

David Arline.

The amount of hidden areas in this game is absurd.

Yeah, I mean, every time you get a power, it's maybe not a bad idea to like go back to one of just one of the previous areas and see what you can do.

Now, definitely doing that with one of the jumping abilities I just got.

So yeah, very cool, Mike.

That does it for the super chats.

Speaker 1

All right, well fantastic, Then that does it for us?

Good stuff?

Well again tomorrow Light Club I'm playing more Virtual Highlight.

We're kind of have that acclaim tucked over if there is an intended dream this week we will be talking over that on Giant Bomb as well.

Yeah, check out that Dreamcast stream we did today.

Good time.

We talked about Hollow Night even more on Pombcast.

Sean joined us there as well.

Let's talk about that in Token, that Marvel fighting game.

So yeah, all sorts of fun stuff.

We finished Riven, I play some Pathotics out too.

It's just the content just keeps on coming.

Uh.

Speaker 5

Alrighty Christian, Please for the people that either our premium and don't listen to the bonum stuff or premium, we are fixing the premium feeds for all y'all, so keep an eye on it.

Let me know if it's working all the old episodes for like the Patreons ups.

Speaker 6

Just let me know.

Speaker 4

Bye everybody, bye hie, he said, he.
