Episode Transcript
OK, let me see if I have all earwigs.
Everything is clean.
Yeah, I think I have everything.
OK.
I think the student should be arriving any moment now.
Yes.
Oh, there you are.
How are you feeling today?
OK, having some issues with your your ears.
OK, did you schedule an appointment to the nurse's office?
No, you're a walk in.
OK, no problem.
No problem.
Let me get my notepad here and get your information.
OK.
OK, I got my notepad here, my PN.
All right, What's your name?
Lovely name.
I love that.
OK, what's your student, mighty love?
And your student e-mail.
Your your student e-mail.
Your your student e-mail.
Yeah.
OK.
OK.
And what is your parents or guardians e-mail?
Your parents or guardians e-mail.
OK.
So I'm assuming your reason for your visit is you're having some issues with your your hearing.
You're having issues with hearing.
OK.
So, so can you tell me what issues you're having?
Wax build up, OK, Trouble hearing.
Yeah.
I, I, I can kind of tell that you're struggling in that department and ringing, ringing in your ear.
OK.
OK, so we're just going to go ahead and get started, OK?
Yes, masks, go ahead and sit down for me.
OK, so now that I have you seated, I'm just going to go ahead and start cleaning out your ears, OK?
And then after I clean out your ears, I'm going to do a hearing test for you.
I'm just going to I'm just going to clean out your ears.
Yes.
OK, so let me check your ears really quick.
I'm just going to check.
I'm seeing a lot of wax build up for sure.
Yeah, that's not looking good.
Check this ear.
Same thing here, seeing a lot of build up.
Are you able to hear me in this ear?
Not not that much.
OK, OK, how about in this ear?
Can you hear me in this ear?
A little bit louder, but OK, so you can hear me better in this ear than the other ear, Correct.
OK.
OK, All right, So what I'm going to do is I'm going to put some salute option in your ear.
I'm going to start with this ear since this one is the one that you're struggling with the most.
Just cleaning out the outside of her, remember?
And now I'm just going to spritz a little bit of this disinfectant on each ear.
Now you're going to feel a nice little quick spritz on the ears.
So if it's a little cold, you know, sorry, I apologize and I bet it's OK.
There we go.
The light spritz.
The light spritz.
There you go.
Even with this ears, just light springs.
There you go.
Right now I'm just going to clean.
I'm going to take this a little ear pig here and I'm just going to clean the outside perimeter of your ears with this little curved because it's the curved right there.
OK?
I'm going to start with this ear since that one has more build up than the other one.
OK?
All right, just sit back and relax, OK?
This should not be painful, but if it is, let me know.
OK, how has this been laying so far?
Even on the outside of your ear.
But don't worry, I have a solution that I'm going to put inside of your ear that's going to bring up all of the tone up on the inside of your ear.
By the way, those class where you coming from?
Oh, Mr.
Perez.
Oh yeah.
He's just relax for me.
I'm almost done in this outer layer.
Last spin right here.
You're OK.
All right?
Just relax.
Just relax.
Are you doing OK?
I'm hurting you.
So are you doing OK most wise other than your hearing issues, are you doing OK help wise?
But anything else you think my jacket is cool?
Thank you.
I appreciate.
I hate it.
What does my sleeve say?
My sleeve, It says carpe diem.
Carpe diem.
It's Latin for sees of the day.
Sees, sees, sees the day.
Yeah, I'm one of those school nurses.
I don't like wearing my scrubs all the time, but for certain things, you know, I just felt like, you know, I'm in a big pain.
I'm wearing my scrubs are going though I know I have to, but I do enjoy them spicing up my scrubs and just now.
OK, all right, this ear was not bad.
So I'm almost done, sweetie.
OK.
All right, you're OK.
Good.
So now I'm just going to take this white area, this little white buff ball part area of the pig, and I'm just going to kind of lightly dust off any of the wax debris on your ears, OK?
This kind of tickles.
I'm sorry.
In this side, you're more ticklish on this side.
Sorry, I'll try to be a little lighter.
All right, I'm going to stop torturing you.
I'm going to just ticklish on this ear.
I'm going to stop torturing 321.
Is that OK?
Good.
OK, so I did notice a lot of waxy buildup inside of your ears this way, this ear.
So I'm just going to go ahead and put the solution in your ears to help break it up and then sweep it out again.
So here's the solution.
And I'm going to put this in each of your ears.
Now, as soon as this solution goes into your ear, you might hear a slight cracklies.
So sensation, OK?
Yeah, that's completely normal.
So don't panic, don't freak out, OK?
You should start hearing a sizzle sensation.
Do you hear it?
Yeah, bit more.
And I'm going to concentrate some more of this, but instead of going outside of your ear is going to be and in the means, I'm just going to go ahead and write down some notes that I know this so far.
So I'm going to be using this special tool here.
This tool one just use this to help me see.
It's a lot wise solution.
Feeling on that ear a lot better.
Can you hear that?
Can you hear me clearer?
Yeah.
Good, good, good.
Are you are eating at a discount?
OK.
I know some of my students when they need me and love this or needed.
OK.
You should be hearing a lot better and a lot clearer in this ear too.
You are good.
All right, that's it.
So I cleaned out both of your ears.
I got all the wax out of there.
So again, I'm just going to take this like soft part of this ear big and just clean the debris.
OK, All right.
This side over here and I get a little ticklish.
I'm going to hurry up and get through this as fast as I can.
OK, there it is.
All right, so now that your ears are nice and clean and you can hear better, I'm just going to go ahead and do a audio tag.
I like doing these with my students just to make sure they can hear, you know, better and you know, things like that.
So all I need you to do is follow my instructions, OK?
And after that, I'm going to document all of your results and I'm going to, of course, have all your results, Brady, in your student account on your student portal with your student ID and e-mail and you should be good to go.
OK, All right, so I'm going to the audio portion of your test.
So with this one, I'm just going to do, there's two tests.
There's going to be 1 where I'm, I'm going to say some things to you.
I want you, I want you to repeat them back to me and then let me know if it was in a low volume, medium volume or a higher volume.
OK, 62054 77 good.
Now was that in a low volume, medium or high?
Good, good.
All right, next.
OK, good.
Now, was that in a low medium or a high volume?
It's pretty low, correct?
Correct.
Pumpkin pie is my favorite, but was that low, medium or low volume?
Right.
Next Volleyball, basketball, soccer, football.
Good.
And it was at low medium volume.
Next test, my favorite color is green.
OK, try, try again.
The last part, the very last word.
It was a color.
Playing chess over checkers.
OK, good.
Low, medium, high volume.
And here's the last set.
I enjoy going to the beach, but I also like going to the library.
Was that low, medium, high volume?
The best kind of naps are the naps you take in the afternoon.
Good.
It was that little video ride.
All right, good.
All right, Let me just document that.
All right, so I have one last audio test for you, and this one is going to require you identifying some sounds for me.
And not only are you going to identify the sounds, trying to get as close to identifying them as possible, but I also want you to let me know if they're high, medium, low volume.
OK, so I first want you to identify the sound.
After identifying, I'm going to test if you can detect if it's high, medium or low.
OK OK, so I'm going to put some headphones over your ears to start this portion of the audio test.
OK, All right.
So I have these silver audio technicus and I'm going to put over your ear, your ears and this is going to start the audio portion, the other audio portion that we desiccate.
So how do they feel?
Pretty good.
So I'm going to turn on the device.
You should hear like a little Jingle when I turn it on.
OK?
So give me a thumbs up once you hear the Jingle that lets me know that you hear that the machine is on, OK?
So this is a series of eight sounds.
OK.
All right.
We're going to start with sound one.
Sound Low, Medium high, low medium high, low, medium high, low, medium high And what about now?
OK, now we're going to move on to the sound #3 good job, got that right.
All right now.
And how about now?
Last time correctly, they might change now we're moving on.
Here it was.
Good job.
All righty.
You have four more sounds to go.
OK, you're doing excellent.
Here's the next one.
That was that little idiot.
OK, how about now?
How about now?
And how about now?
And what about now?
Good job.
Good job.
All right.
Sound number six.
What is this?
Sound is it?
Now, now, now, now, now, now.
Now last one, good job, good job.
We have two more to go.
This is sound #7 good job.
Is that low, medium or high?
Now, Now, now, now.
And how about now?
Good job, Good job, good job.
All right, this is the last one.
Sound #8 Good now is that low meteor of my high volume volume.
And how about now and now and now, OK, And now.
OK.
And last one, How about now?
Good.
Good job, Good job.
Good job.
All right, so give me a thumbs up.
Give me a thumbs up.
If you hear it go off.
It should be a chime.
OK, that was the end of your audio hearing portion.
It's going to go ahead and put those on.
Let me go ahead and document your results right now and I'm going to let you know how you did so the first half of your hearing exam.
So the first half of your hearing exam, you did great.
You passed all of my umm, you know, I whispered in both of your ears and you repeated back to me everything and you were even able to tell me if it was high and it were low in the in the way of the volume.
So really good on that.
You passed all of those And when it came to your audio hearing with the headphones on you were able to get sound one through 8 correctly.
Sound one being fan, sound 2 being crickets, sound 3 being fireplace, sound 4 being rain, sound 5 worth waves, sound 6 was running water, sound 7 was bird chirping, and sound 8 was like Kong sounds.
You were able to identify each one correctly and you were able to get if it was high, medium, or low in terms of volume.
So you did really good on all of that.
So that lets me know that you're not experiencing any major like hearing loss or anything like that.
It's just your hearing issues came from wax buildup and things like that that was in your ear.
So that's really good.
And wax buildup is very common.
There's nothing out of the ordinary.
It happens.
So my main concern was after cleaning your ears, if you were still experiencing hearing problems, which you were not because you were able to identify all of the sounds and also identify the volume at which each sound was.
So that's really good.
And so we are now done with your hearing exam.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to document all of this and valid with your paperwork.
And I'm going to also update your your chart on your student portal.
That's why I have your student ID in your e-mail.
And I'm also going to send these results to your e-mail and also to your parents emails as well.
OK?
OK, So it's going to go ahead and write you a little pass.
OK, And who is your next teacher?
OK, Miss.
Oh, OK.
OK, that's your teacher.
OK, So Miss Jackson.
OK.
OK.
All right, so there's your all pass.
Make sure you give this to her.
OK?
All right, Thank you for coming in.
If you have any more issues or if it's your hearing or you're having any more wax build up with your eyes, anything, if it's anything wrong, you can always come back to the nurse's office.
OK?
All right, Take care of yourself.
See you.
Bye.
Hello.

Hello.
Hello.
Hello.
Hello, hello, hello, my beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful butterfly, Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly.
I hope that you are doing well.
Thank you so much for making it to the end portion of this video.
This is the WOE or the word of encouragement as I like to call it.
This is the part of the video where I like to kind of share a little, oh, word of encouragement from the Bible.
I kind of share my faith with you guys, but I completely understand if that is not your cup of tea.
Completely fine, totally chill, no hard feelings.
Please feel free to click, click, click, click, click off on this video if you are not interested in the word of encouragement.
But for those of you who decide to stay, thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
And we're going to go ahead and get into it.
So today's word of encouragement comes from Isaiah.
Some of you guys might know this, but Isaiah is like my favorite book in the Old Testament.
And this is Isaiah 55 S Isaiah chapter 55 verses 8 and 9.
And I'm reading from the King James Version, and it says, for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither my ways.
Your ways, says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
I'm going to read that one more time.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
This is probably the This is like one of my favorite parts of or scripture in Isaiah.
I absolutely love this and was so true when When we are faced with things, we often time forget that God sees far beyond what we can see.
God not only sees the past and the present, but he sees the future.
God is the beginning and the ending, the alpha and Omega.
And when when I think about like the things that I'm facing or like thinking, oh, nothing could be better than this or nothing could be better than that or nothing can top this or whatever I have to remember.
Wait a minute.
Yeah, I think that.
But God might say different is a you know what?
You might think that, but my ways are not your ways.
My thoughts are not your thoughts.
I can see past this and I have better for you.
There is better out there, you know, so I absolutely love these verses.
They've always remind me that when I'm, you know, thinking about something or something seems impossible or nothing could be better.
I like to go to these these two verses of Scripture and Isaiah 55.
And I just have to remember, you know, my ways and I his ways, my thoughts and I his because either he is far, he sees far more, far higher than I can.
And I always remember, like if I'm, if something doesn't go my way or I don't get something or whatever, I just have to remember, you know, sometimes rejection is God's protection.
And sometimes if God doesn't give you something or if he takes something away, he will always have something better out there for you.
So just keep your hands head up, do not fear, keep your faith high, keep your head held high, stay humble and keep your faith and keep your prayer life strong.
And remember, God sits far above us.
He sees so much more than we can.
And I, I can't imagine putting my feet in anything else, you know?
So I just want to encourage you with that and I hope you enjoyed that and I want you to know that I love you so much.
I love you so much, but most importantly, Jesus loves you so much more.
Take care of yourselves, my beautiful butterflies.
And until the next time I see you have a blessed day, night, evening, or whatever it is you're having in your part of the world.
World.
