Welcome to Let It Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Are you fulfilled?
Isn't that a big question?
Are you fulfilled?
It's so interesting.
We try and stuff our lives full of things, full of things, full of stuff, full of activities, full of busyness, oh my gosh, full of events, full of all the things, in order to feel fulfilled sometimes.
But being fulfilled is quiet, it's steady, it's not audacious, it's not loud, it's something that you just know.
And I have to say, at this point in my life, this is the most fulfilled I have ever felt.
It's a peacefulness that can only come with living in what I call integrity, meaning being congruent with who you really are.
Being yourself, the real you, doing work that's meaningful to you, spending time with people that you sincerely care about, only taking on projects and activities that sincerely excite you or energize you.
Being the real you, saying what you think, wearing what you want to wear, saying no to things that might sound cool, but you just don't feel you just don't want to do.
You know, so much of the centenarian life, people who live to over a hundred, it can be boiled down to living in integrity with yourself, living as the real you.
It's funny because I think our culture is obsessed with longevity.
It's like, how can we do this?
How can we hack that?
What you know, what do we eat?
What do we drink?
Is it a cold plunge?
One time it's something this, the next day it's that.
Oh my lord, it's exhausting.
I think that longevity might kill us.
The quest for longevity, it's so confusing and overwhelming.
To me, it's being a piece, being around good people, doing work that I love, showing up for you daily here, and only doing what my heart wants to do.
And so I want to ask you this question, you know, are you fulfilled?
And if not, if the answer is no, what's missing?
Don't ask what's wrong.
I talk about this in my book, Stop Checking Your Likes.
Don't ask what's wrong.
Ask what's missing.
Because if my almost 42 years on planet Earth have taught me anything, it's that the universe, God, whatever you call it, won't ever give you peace and fulfillment in a situation where you are settling, in a situation where you're not being yourself, in a situation where you're holding back, where you're not allowing yourself to be the real you, to show up as you, the weird, quirky, imperfect, oddball, whatever you.
This is why being around people who might be cool on the outside, but you have to fake it around, it exhausts you.
You feel that hollowness.
Or taking on projects simply because they're well paid, but you hate doing them.
There's an empty feeling, sure, look, we all we all need to do what we have to do.
But are you fulfilling yourself in the other ways where you are able?
Fulfillment can never come from something outside of you, and it can never be guessed or judged by anybody else.
It's only what you know based in your heart, in your mind, in your spirit.
And if the answer is frankly no, I'm not fulfilled, what's missing?
