Speaker 1

I am all in again.

Oh, let's guess you.

Speaker 2

I am all in again with Scott Patterson, an iHeartRadio podcast.

Speaker 3

All right, let's let's flip it over to the audience because I know you guys have a million questions for this guy.

Speaker 4

So I was just talking with some other guests that were here to watch this, and I was wondering what your favorite trope was in the show.

You know, opposites attract or that sort of thing.

So what was your favorite trope?

Speaker 1

That's a fancy word.

I don't know if I know a word.

Speaker 5

I'm not as smart trope as that.

You gotta tell me more about what a trope is.

What do you mean by that in terms of the Gilmour Girls aspect.

Speaker 4

Like the like relationship dynamics, Like that's what kind of like the word trope means.

Speaker 5

Sorry, relationship dynamics.

Yeah, what about the relationship dynamics with Logan?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 5

I think with him what was interesting is just his willingness to commit but not commit.

You know, that was he he was in the end, he was the one who actually wanted to go ahead and get married, and we know how that went right, But he was always fighting the should I commit or should I stay open?

And then in the end he committed, and then of course she said no.

So that's kind of I think how i'd answer that question.

Speaker 1

Hi, I'm Kaitlin.

Nice to meet you both.

Speaker 6

I just want to say team Logan forever.

Rory missed out, but I wouldn't have.

So my question for you, Matt is, was there a particular Logan scene that felt meaningful or powerful to film, especially as we see Logan continue to grow throughout the seasons and different aspects.

Speaker 5

I mean, I really loved the Life and Death brigate is I mentioned, but I h when we came back to do the Netflix series.

I just love that whole montage.

And I have this one picture when the everybody's going in the car and they're going off in the distance and then they come back to me.

That just kind of sums up everything that Rory and Logan were about in the good ways in terms of that.

So for me, those scenes in that montage felt like, oh wow, I'm so happy we got a chance to do that after the original series.

Speaker 7

Hi, I'm Maren.

I love you so much.

I was just wondering if you could go back and change any part of like Logan and Rory's story if you would change anything, and also what's your opinion on the proposal?

Speaker 1

Should she have said yes, I.

Speaker 5

Wouldn't change anything, just like I think of my own life as I wouldn't change anything.

There are things I know that I probably could have done better, there are things that I'd learned from and grown from, but I don't think I would change anything.

So I feel the same way about those characters in the show.

And then in terms of the proposal, I think that, uh, he was.

Speaker 1

Ready and she wasn't.

Speaker 5

So I think she she made the right call, and he did kind of you know, he did kind of just kind of kind of up there and say this is all or nothing in that way, and uh, but I do think that, you know, she was not ready and that was the right answer for her.

Speaker 8

Hi, thanks for coming.

I have a question about where Logan and Rory left off.

So do you think that Logan wants to marry I think her name was Odessa or do you debt I believe, oh, debt that's right?

Or does he really want to be with Rory?

Speaker 1

Well, I think he feels like he has to be with Odette.

Speaker 5

You know, kind of what I talked about before about when you asked that question Scott about the anger and the the family and feeling like he's only got this one door and he's got to go through it.

I think that was the same thing in terms of the predestined aspect would be Odette.

So I think the love of his life is is Rory.

Now Does that timing ever connect?

Speaker 1

I don't know, but that's how I would answer that question.

Speaker 8

Hi, thank you guys so much for coming.

Speaker 1

So thank you for coming.

Speaker 9

Thank you.

Speaker 1

Yes, my question is for you.

Speaker 9

Do you think that Logan cheated on Ry or do you guys think that you guys were on a break?

Speaker 8

Oh?

Speaker 5

Oh okay, so you were talking about the original not the yes, Because he definitely was was cheating on his fiance.

I think we all know that that much.

They did not say that.

It wasn't clearly defined.

I think that Logan didn't have the best communication skills.

Speaker 1

In that moment.

But they were on a break, guys, he was, They were on a break.

Speaker 5

He just didn't articulate it in the right way.

Speaker 1

Over here.

Speaker 2

Hi, sorry, I love you, I love you so much.

Oh my gosh, I think me.

Speaker 9

And everyone can we get a high ace please?

Speaker 1

Yes?

Speaker 5

Hey, yeah, I mean, and that's the stuff that's again that's Amy and Dan.

Speaker 1

I mean Amy and Dan.

That's just their writing and what they do with that.

Speaker 5

I mean, that's incredible that you It's just that's credit all to them.

Speaker 10

Hi.

Speaker 2

I took a plane, a shuttle, a train, and a bus to get here, and I'm really excited for this to come true.

Finally, I guess my question is do you think think Logan grows up to be like his dad?

He became his own person in his own way, but at the end of the day, the family ties were strong.

Speaker 1

So yeah, and oh, I don't have no question.

But I guys, you did ask the question.

Speaker 3

You said, do you think Logan will become like his dad?

Speaker 1

Good question.

No, I don't think so.

I don't think he becomes like his dad.

Speaker 5

But the lesson is is that he waits too long to make that decision.

You know, so in our lives, when we're in a certain place and we know that something is not right, how I feel like Logan was kind of pushing against that his whole entire life.

Speaker 1

You got to listen to that, you know.

Speaker 5

You got to do it quick, because, like I said, we don't have that much time.

So if we're thinking like that, we got to get on it.

So I feel like he doesn't become his dad, but it's just way too long before he makes that decision.

Speaker 10

Yeah, okay, Hi, I'm Jenny.

This is Julia and Jess and Nicole sitting over there, and my husband's any our nurse and he said he loved you in the resident So I had to throw that out there.

So, uh, we were just wondering that.

Let's say you are in that moment Rory fights out, she's pregnant, You're still with Odette, your logan, do you think you would end that relationship quickly because she is the love of your life?

Or do you think that you'd have to like really weigh that heavily because of the situation it had.

Speaker 1

This is what we call a trap question.

Speaker 5

So there was a lot of stuff coming out of your mouth there.

Speaker 1

Trap trap traps come out those rams though.

Speaker 3

I think they just acquired another right guard.

Speaker 1

Are you a foot tall fan?

Everybody?

Hell us?

Trap question you tried?

I loved it.

It was genius.

Oh boy, it was a genius.

Genius.

How about those nicks though?

Speaker 3

Huh?

Speaker 11

Well, so logan, I love you, you are I'm team Logan all the way, just so you know, my husband's team Logan, my son's team.

But anyways, the question is, why were you so threatened by Test that you dumped Rory right there that night?

I mean why it was a breakup.

Speaker 2

I know it was a breakup.

Speaker 10

You weren't cheating.

Speaker 11

I'm team Logan, hello, but why were you so threatened by Jess?

I mean, Jess is just Jess.

Speaker 3

You know, the Oakland Athletics just traded their their starting shortstop to the Chicago White Sox, and I want to talk about it.

Speaker 1

Thank you for that?

Oh my god.

By the way, can I just ask you a question?

Do you work?

Speaker 3

Are you a prosecutor?

Because if you're not, you should be.

You should go to law school.

You can't comunicator, all right?

There you go.

Speaker 10

Wow.

Speaker 5

I think that I think Rory probably still had something there for for Jess, you know, I think that that's what Logan thinks in his head, right.

And we tell ourselves stories all the time in our lives, right that are maybe true or maybe not, And we think everybody's paying attention to us and they don't even care about us, and we get trapped in our minds in so many different ways.

Speaker 1

Uh.

Speaker 5

So, I think Logan was just feeling threatened, feeling jealous, and you know, and then they started talking about dad stuff and it's just like, ah, so, I think that he felt that there was still you know, a piece inside of him of uh that maybe they would be together.

And so that's what just was a piece that that set him off.

But we we but in general, in our lives, we do tell ourselves stories and we have to stop doing that.

Speaker 1

We we can't.

Speaker 5

We can't tell ourselves stories in our heads.

We got to go with what is actually the given circumstances.

We're going to be a lot more healthy if we can do that.

So I just want to throw that out there.

Speaker 9

And one right here, Hey guys, generational fans here a pretty full circle moment.

My daughter is here.

It's her fourteenth birthday, so we wouldn't be happy birthday.

Speaker 1

For every birthday.

Happy birthday.

Speaker 9

My question is, what is the most surprising thing you guys learned about yourselves, both of you from the relationships your characters had on Gilmour, you want to take that one star.

Speaker 3

I'm just getting that the Dodgers have canceled that trade and.

Speaker 1

Go ahead I'm getting the information.

Speaker 3

I'll fill you in later.

Speaker 1

Go ahead, okay.

Speaker 5

Kind of what I was talking about before, just in terms of that passion for life, I think that Logan elevated that within myself and also maybe confidence elevating that myself, because having to play that character, you've got to get into that character's headspace.

And so I think that's something that that character certainly gave me in a big way.

Speaker 3

You know.

To answer your question, you know, that's one of the similarities the things I have in common with Luke is being that guy who suffered in silence as the one he's so desired, you know, it locked him up.

Speaker 1

He couldn't make the move.

Speaker 3

And then event you know, it took him four years or eight years, actually really eight years and probably longer.

And I, you know, I've been there, done that so many times in prior to getting the show that you know, it really informed how I was going to interpret those situations when I was with Lorelei and and and trying not to show anything, you know, really really resistant and that tension and creates the moment, creates you.

Speaker 1

Know, the spark and all that.

Speaker 3

So but as far as like learning about relationships, I mean, that's another thing that I have in common with him is that you know, and my beautiful wife of twenty five years is sitting right there.

So you know, I believe in long term relationships.

I believe in having a best friend, and I believe that they can guide us and teach us.

And I think, you know, I heard something the other day about you know, men are half formed and if they meet the right woman, they can become fully formed, you know, and if they so, I that's what I take from that happy birthday.

Speaker 2

So we have one more.

Speaker 10

I want to bring port and right here interpreting for her mom throughout the entire event.

Speaker 1

It's so beautiful.

Speaker 10

Go it.

Speaker 12

So, Hi, Matt, Hi Scott.

You guys are amazing, an inspiration to us all.

My question to my question to both of you is, as your characters Logan and Luke, what experience have what experiences have made you recognize the difference between good and standout moments.

Speaker 3

Between good and standout moments?

I think the soul of acting is knowing when to take your moment and when to lay back right.

But the easy part about this writing, and we keep harping on the writing, but it's so extraordinary that you know, you just feel lucky to be going to work and say in these lines and being in these situations, and it's pretty apparent when to hit the gas and when to just lay off and maybe get in the back seat and let somebody else drive.

So that's really the one of the major aspects of the writing that was so brilliant to me.

It was just very easy to interpret it.

And and once you got it on its feet and started blocking the scenes in rehearsal, that just sort of formed very quickly.

It all sort of made sense.

It all sort of you know, you didn't have to really quibble too much with the director or the other actors about where to move or where to stand or where to you know, it's all in the work.

Everything's really in the words.

Speaker 1

So yeah, and I could I could add to that.

Speaker 5

I would say, just from a different perspective, you're talking about that.

Speaker 1

You know, what do you feel?

What do you feel?

Speaker 5

And when you think when you watch a show, when you watch a specific scene, you know, why does that scene impact you?

Speaker 1

And so whatever that is, then that's the good stuff.
