Liz went from being interested in true crime to living true crime.
Speaker 2My husband comes back outside and he's he's shaking, and he just looks like he's seen a ghost and he's just in shock, and he said, your dad's been killed.

Today is December twenty third, twenty twelve, and this is a representeris kind of case.

Speaker 4I could see her.
I believe she was tied up.
Speaker 1Liz's father murdered and her mother found locked in a closet, her hands and feet bound.
Speaker 4I believe that she was like this when she was saying help, okay, And then I got scared and I ran out and I told my dad.
Speaker 1I was like, we don't know who's in here.
Speaker 5Can you convict a person of murder with no motive?
I knew it would be an unusual try, just because that question was so important to the prosecution.
Speaker 1We'll go inside the courtroom as a jury decides who's to blame for this shocking murder.
Speaker 5I tried to keep an help in mind.
I want to believe somebody is innocent until the state can prove them.

I know what I need to do.
Speaker 1A quest that began the moment she learned her dad had been killed.
Speaker 2I was looking for similar crimes in the area to see if anything could be tied together or if it was the same people.
Speaker 1And continues today using her true crime knowledge to unravel the mystery surrounding her dad's death.
Speaker 3I think if it weren't for that strange interest or hobby or whatever you want to call it, things could have gone very, very differently.
It kind of helped me put the pieces of the puzzle together, pieces.
Speaker 1Liz is still trying to put together years after her dad murder.
But for Liz, one thing is certain.
She believes the wrong person is in prison for the crime.
Speaker 2There's a lot of guilt, I think pushing me.
