[SPEAKER_00]: Hello everybody and welcome to a special solo episode of Jumping Bomb Audio.
[SPEAKER_00]: The number one podcast about Yoshi Pro Wrestling.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Kelly, as you can hear Taylor is not here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Taylor is out on assignment.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have sent him [SPEAKER_00]: to go to Japan, to make me a monster.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know how marigold is just starting but worse.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want him to go make marigold but worse.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna see what happens with that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's currently talking to Megaton and Jackie to see if they will make the jump.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he is also working on making a bunch of wrestlers from Dotonbori Pro defect and come over to our new terrible promotion.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how that goes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully we'll hear about it in two weeks from Taylor when he is back.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the meantime, it is just me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will be here talking about all of the tournaments going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many tournaments.
[SPEAKER_00]: But before we get to that, got to hit the plugs.
[SPEAKER_00]: Twitter slash x slash blue sky find us at jumping or sorry jbom audio find me at comment get Kelly with one k find Taylor at TAMAMBO subscribe to us if you haven't we really would appreciate that especially if you could give us a rating and review that would be awesome and if you feel [SPEAKER_00]: like making a donation to your old pals Kelly and Taylor helping us get our new wrestling promotion off the ground.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just spitballing.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go with terrible pro at the moment.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how that goes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can send us some money over at redcircle.com slash shows slash jumping dash bomb dash audio.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, since it's just me today, I'm kind of just going to go through things Lucy Goosey.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I want to cover each tournament kind of one by one and then I've got a little like one or two other things to talk about, but outside of that, it's just tournament action today.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was hit with the realization, I don't even know if it's the realization.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a question.
[SPEAKER_00]: Am I getting too old for round Robin tournaments?
[SPEAKER_00]: Have I like outgrown them?
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember the last time I was really, really into one of these.
[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, the five star this year is probably the most I've been interested in one of these tournaments in years.
[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of thought back earlier.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the last time I really paid attention to a tournament like this, like really was just watching every show was track in the, the, the, the standings and all that was probably the twenty nineteen G one.
[SPEAKER_00]: and that's probably right around when I kind of just totally fell off of new Japan after that too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like I still watch them here and there, but I don't really follow the promotion.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if just the tournaments have gotten worse or if I just don't [SPEAKER_00]: want to watch them as much as I used to.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just it's too much wrestling.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so much and especially in such a short amount of time like there's been so many shows to watch.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so grateful to Tokyo, Yoshi, that there's just a regular knockout tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's the, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I might just be growing out of them, or it's just, they're not as good as they used to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cause like when I first, the really like when I really really got into Puporo again after [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even say, I want to say I was ever really into Peru.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just had FMW tapes.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's yeah, that's what I'm going with.
[SPEAKER_00]: When I really jumped into things was with a G-One that I want to say was maybe it was still in the U stream days, I believe.
[SPEAKER_00]: because I was following it on daily motion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to a nice fellow who uploaded all of the matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of a great way to get into it because I knew a handful of the wrestlers.
[SPEAKER_00]: I had watched the, uh, wrestling kingdom that year that they did on, uh, history and pay for you.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I knew people.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would watch their matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'd see them have great matches against other people.
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'd watch those people's matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: And eventually, [SPEAKER_00]: I got to know the whole heavyweight roster that way and it was great.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great introduction to the just the company as a whole.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe maybe this works for people that haven't seen a ton of these that are just jumping into things and they're like, hey, look at all these cool people.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm learning about new wrestlers every show.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm seeing who I really like.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so maybe it's a great way for new fans to get into.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's daunting.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's very daunting.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that all being said.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's kick things off with the five star.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'll kind of go through highlights of shows since we last spoke and then we'll dive into where the tournament goes from here into the quarter final semi finals and finals, but let's start with August sixth five star night six.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, let's see, I'm going through my notes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know I have the highlight being highlights, I should say.
[SPEAKER_00]: Susu versus Hanako fought to a double count out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really good hard hitting action in that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was one where it was like, I thought the ending of the match was bad because I think the ref blew the call and Susu got into the ring before he called.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was the count out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was just me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I probably would have gone four stars if not for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up at three and three quarters.
[SPEAKER_00]: That show also had Bozilla versus Cere.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Totally didn't see the draw coming on that one because like I completely lost track of time and got sucked into this match.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then Dachi took a punch from Bozilla.
[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect.
[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Loved it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Four stars on that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the main event was Syah Kamatani beating Hanan and a fantastic man.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think these two just have a fantastic like title match big big title match ahead of them at some point down the road.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see this become a like a long time rivalry between the two.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they have great chemistry and I would love to see more matches from them for an quarter on that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we go to the ninth, five star, night seven.
[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite match of that show was Saita, defeating Muamasaki.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thought it ruled.
[SPEAKER_00]: Muam showed a ton of fire here and really brought the flight to the bigger, stronger Saita.
[SPEAKER_00]: They really meshed well here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Four stars for that one, and then the main event.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought was really good to Hanako, beating Momo Watanabe.
[SPEAKER_00]: One of the times that the interference spots actually worked for the match, I thought.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and then also that showhead, uh, sorry, fighting Susu and they fought to a draw, pretty wild, brawl.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good stuff would like to see them go longer in the future.
[SPEAKER_00]: Night eight, uh, that was on August tenth.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got to be honest.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any notes on this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I think I was kind of checked out with things as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: At the moment, when I was trying to catch up, [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I have zero notes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just have results.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if there's something on this show, you really liked and wanted me to talk about I apologize, but I don't even remember damn near anything about this show.
[SPEAKER_00]: So sorry guys, night.
[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty forgettable, I guess.
[SPEAKER_00]: Night nine on the eleven.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this my first note on this one is this turn of it really made me kind of just reflect on Rana Yagami's bizarre entrance music.
[SPEAKER_00]: it's just like to me it sounds like like a b-side from a release of Luigi's Mansion music and this is the one that wasn't spooky enough to make the cut on the main album her in the main game just odd odd song what else we had on the show uh...
bozilla defeating site either really fun kind of a horse match sorry beating Hanako uh...
really great and again another horse match a lot of brutal strikes Hanako eat [SPEAKER_00]: So much offense in this mansion, including a really stiff kick in the face.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hanako's triple suplexes got over really good with the crowd.
[SPEAKER_00]: And sorry has been doing really good as a heal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really her heal character is just her being a tiny bit meaner.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's not much different than what she does normally.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's just a smidge meter than normal.
[SPEAKER_00]: The kicks have a little extra sauce on them, but other than that, she's pretty much the same.
[SPEAKER_00]: Three and three quarters on that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's followed up by Susu Suzuki defeating Konami.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really like that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: I could have done without the interference.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Konami, once again, getting implicated in a black face scandal, but otherwise pretty good match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Another three and three quarters.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the main event was Serriano defeating Iasakura, just killer strikes on this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was just shy of being like a must see match, but great main event.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, three and three quarters.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that show was pretty good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we go to night ten.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was on the sixteenth.
[SPEAKER_00]: The opener was awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: This was not supposed to feeding Rean, who I think has had a fantastic tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: She has been so good in her role as, you know, young rookie that fights as hard as she can, but still gets beat.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she won and match the entire tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll look at the standings later, and to confirm that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, she was great here, and I think she had a really good showing this tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: Poy was great here, and really, Rianne is kind of the counterpoint to Marigold's crew of shitters, like just, [SPEAKER_00]: rookie's can be really good in the tournament like this but you just can't have a million of that uh...
poi was awesome here of course uh...
just a great open our four stars uh...
what else happened on this show [SPEAKER_00]: uh...
cyokomotani defeated mace era and really good match and reminded me how much fun it was when silo is late in the high speed division for a cup of coffee was a good time uh...
three and three quarters on that and then the main event uh...
sorry defeating moment of a this was a match i loved but i do have some major problems with it [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, the action was great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thought both women were really swinging for the fences here.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love that sorry's, uh, trainees or prodigies with, uh, Chichi and, um, Miku were, were just, it was awesome seeing the mix it up with hate.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, here's the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: The opening of the match sucked because you had Momo just grabbing the belt out of sorry's hands and hitting her with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that she just kind of shrugs it off and starts the match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, stuff like that breaks my immersion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cause like, if that was real, dice you would, you know, admonish Momo for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he would check on, sorry, it's like, hey, can you continue?
[SPEAKER_00]: You just got hit with a metal thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Instead he's just like, ah, darn those brascals are added again.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I guess that's just kind of how it goes with hate.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, it bothers me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then again, we had interference and it kind of led to what I felt like a pretty flat finish.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it was disappointing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was great but disappointing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I went four stars flat.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would have loved to have gone higher on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that was night ten.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that brings us to night eleven on the seventeenth which is today.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm recording right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly just finished watching that show.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe half an hour ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good little show.
[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of quick matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing super, super great in the first half pretty skippable.
[SPEAKER_00]: Psycha Karara beating Azumi was probably the first match I would say, hey, you should really watch this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really good back and forth match that felt like a huge win for Karara.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was followed up by boy beating Starlight Kid.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, predictably great match between these two.
[SPEAKER_00]: These two are always gonna have great matches against each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: Boy beats boy boy beats boy boy beats starlight kid here and spoils are taking her out of the tournament entirely which was kind of a surprise to me So maybe I know a lot of people assumed that Zumi was taking the spot, but maybe we could see starlight kid in the forbidden doorway as the start-up representative So that that's my thought on coming out of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm assuming I'll somehow be proven wrong [SPEAKER_00]: probably seconds after this, uh, airs tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how that goes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I went for an accord on that match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thought it was great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that was followed up by Amisurae defeating Bozilla.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just a great match that I think was the best that either woman had in the tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought for sure this was going to go to a draw to protect Bozilla but I'm a winning it here felt huge.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm then at the end of the match kind of called out Bozilla and said she's going to be her rival and you know what?
[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, let's go for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They had great chemistry here.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see them have a bunch more matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: Great stuff for stars.
[SPEAKER_00]: and then we had the main event be pre-sleeved to feeding sci-a-combatani I don't know what we're doing here guys be I think has largely been a dud in this tournament she's had some decent enough performances but nothing blow away nothing that makes me think oh they should use her after this tournament if she goes away after the tournament we never see her again I would not be upset she has brought [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing new or fresh to the roster.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's absolutely fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's fine to bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would say.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's not much.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a very high ceiling going with her matches at the moment.
[SPEAKER_00]: So having her be the first person to be at Sia in this in the year is insane.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why you would waste this moment on me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why you would do that here in this spot.
[SPEAKER_00]: It feels very weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not like this was a big show that was like the crowd was shocked.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was a cool moment, but I don't think it was worth it here.
[SPEAKER_00]: You would have probably been better served having it happen in, uh, curtain.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the knockout stage of the tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, maybe, hell, maybe they want Sia to win the tournament, who can say it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it just felt like a waste to have be previously the person to be at Sia because I don't think she's doing anything for the company at the moment.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they need her.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, it's disappointing to see.
[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up going three stars on the match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I thought it was fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they had great chemistry, but I think they made it work well enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, just the booking of it was terrible.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that is where we are at with the tournament currently.
[SPEAKER_00]: All of the regular block matches are done now.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's go over the standings and then from there we'll go through the tournament that is coming up to decide the overall tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: uh...
so we got the blue stars a block serino coming out on top with eleven points uh...
below her is amissory and bozilla with ten points each uh...
then you got cyita at eight rock at seven mu amissaki at six iosacara at four and urea he may at zero [SPEAKER_00]: I would say, sorry is for sure the MVP of the block.
[SPEAKER_00]: She had great matches throughout.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sia and Bozilla, I thought both stood out as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yuri Ahima didn't do much for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's easily the weakest of their current crap of young wrestlers for my money, but still solid enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then in blue stars, B-block, we got sorry winning the block overall of the eleventh points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Susu Suzuki, following behind her with ten.
[SPEAKER_00]: Momo Watanabe at eight, Hanako at seven, Rani Agami at six, Konami at six, Hina at six, and Momo Kogo at two.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm surprised to see Konami not finish higher to be honest.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought she had a really strong start to the tournament and then kind of stalled out, I guess.
[SPEAKER_00]: Seeing her in Rana and Hino, kind of at the bunched up there is surprising.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think, sorry, again, probably MVP of the block.
[SPEAKER_00]: Susu had a really good tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: Momo is, it's those top three.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are the MVP of the block.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Momo had a great tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: She can have a good match with Damne or anyone on the roster, so she is such a great wrestler to have around.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then over in Red Star's block A, we've got Siyah Kamatani at the top with twelve B previously and second place with ten, and then third place Hanan with nine.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then you've got Macyara at seven, Azusa, Nabe at six, and then Lady C, Unimizamori and Waka all coming in at four.
[SPEAKER_00]: Weirdly lopsided block.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think because those bottom three didn't really have a great tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I had a decent showing, but Lady C and Waka weren't doing much.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Han and did well.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sia did really well, of course.
[SPEAKER_00]: I already talked about B and what I think of her, Macy area had a good showing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm torn on Azusa and Abba.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like her a lot sometimes and then others I just find her very boring.
[SPEAKER_00]: But for the most part I think she's good overall solid block.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we go over to Red Star's B and that's a boy winning the block overall ten points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Azumi and Arena coming in a tied second place and third place with nine points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have bunched up in the middle Tomaka and Abba, Starlight Kid and Natsukotora at eight points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sayaka Kurara at four and Rion at zero.
[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I'm disappointed that Rhion didn't get any points.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would have liked to have seen her at least get one win.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thankfully, Toro did not get through.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome for me and Taylor specifically.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're very excited about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, really good top three.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really good block overall.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think this may have ended up being my favorite block.
[SPEAKER_00]: even with Torah around.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think she was fine enough, but yeah, really good stuff out of Red Star's B.
And that brings us to the tournament that will be happening or starting on August, twentieth at Kirk and Hall.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the twentieth has the playoffs and the quarter finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the semifinals and finals will happen on August, twenty-third.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's go through the four playoff matches first.
[SPEAKER_00]: blue B-block to second place, Susan Suzuki facing blue A-block third place Bozilla the winner of that goes on to phase blue A-block first place Seria now I think Bozilla comes through with that one and then I think Bozilla might also beat Seria see her go to the semi finals [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's my prediction right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we've got the next playoff match is blue a second place.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry facing blue b third play is mobile antenna bay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would expect.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry to get through.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think I mean, mobile could win, but I don't think you want to keep running back.
[SPEAKER_00]: Rematches in the quarter finals, you know, because I already predicted that we'd have a rematch between Bozilla and Sierra Nell.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm gonna guess I'm sorry, but it's a mobile latte and then goes against sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think she loses to sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think sorry and Bozilla is your semi-final match from that side of the block.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we've got the third playoff match that is Red B second place Azumi versus Red A third place Hanan I Think Azumi probably wins here There was a part of me that says Hanan, but again then we just get another rematch But I suppose well, here's a thing Had to say a not lost to be [SPEAKER_00]: I would put Hanan through and have Hanan beat Syah and get her win back.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think Syah is going to lose in this match unless they're telling a story of her losing her momentum or something.
[SPEAKER_00]: So my prediction is Azumi goes through and then loses to Syah in the quarterfinals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we've got the final playoff match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Red, a second place, B previously versus Red, B, third place, Rina.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would assume B wins here.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see B losing the Rina and then B advances to face.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not support.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would hope that not support would win here.
[SPEAKER_00]: personally just because I don't make for the better match.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's entirely possible to be defeats not support and then Sya gets her win back in the semi-finals so then they're one and one going into a potential be priestly title shot if that were to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it will.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would assume it is it's easy booking.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that, so that is, I think that makes the most sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you have Sia versus B going into the semi-finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I guess let's talk about the semi-finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: So my predictions are your semi-finals are going to be Bozilla facing Sari and Sia-Khamatani facing B, priestly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I think Sia beats B, so Sia goes to the finals and then [SPEAKER_00]: This is hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm booking myself into some corners here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't think you want to run your two champions against each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe it's entirely possible.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going back.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're rewinding things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Momo beats sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: Momo beats.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then beats sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that kind of continues the sorry and hate feud.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then you have Mo Watanabe versus Bozilla going into the finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can have Bozilla beat Mo.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's entirely possible.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I guess that makes the finals Bozilla versus Syah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And shit, maybe you just go full steam ahead on Bozilla and have her win.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it sucks that Sia would be taking two losses that close together, but you know, with a tournament like this, that's bound to happen unless you're going to have her win.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which she's had such a dominant year, I wouldn't be opposed to that at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could have her beat Bozilla and Bozilla wouldn't lose any momentum.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I mean, I'm already having Bozilla beat the leader of her own unit.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a pretty big win there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I've talked myself into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Sia comes out of this champion and the twenty twenty five star grand prix winner.
[SPEAKER_00]: Feel free to yell at me and tell me I'm wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out on August twenty third, which I believe the show is going to be a paper view.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what else is on the card.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure that won't shake out until after the show on the twentieth.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as of now all we know is there's going to be semi-finals and finals on that show.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited.
[SPEAKER_00]: Get into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now that we are done with Stardom, let's go into the Tokyo Joshi Pro Princess Cup.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got night's three and four action to talk about.
[SPEAKER_00]: Night three was on the ninth.
[SPEAKER_00]: This had the quarter finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, quarter finals because the second show is the semi-finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you had Mio Watson, I'll be beating her because of Shiro.
[SPEAKER_00]: Haru put up a great fight against Mio and I think this may have been her best singles outing yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: The match did make me realize though that Haru needs to kind of lay her shit in a little bit more.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really stood out against Mio with how strong and stiff she works.
[SPEAKER_00]: a good match though three-and-a-half U.K.
[SPEAKER_00]: arrived defeated walkin' out U.H.R.
[SPEAKER_00]: uh...
my only note goes boring result fine match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was the chalk way to go, but it was kind of disappointing to see walking on that win here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, then you had a risuendo upsetting, uh, Miyo Yamashita.
[SPEAKER_00]: For the most part, this was me who just mulling Endo, and Endo doing her best to survive, and I think that was the best possible way you could have booked this match.
[SPEAKER_00]: Endo just kind of caught me the right moment and picked up the win, great match, and it really makes sense that Endo would probably have been fighting Moka in that spot initially, and that would probably just set up a title challenge for her in the future.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's my guess at how things are originally supposed to go, but really good stuff, three and three quarters.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then in the main event, Shoko Nakajima defeated Mizuki.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't super into this match.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it wasn't very exciting, but it had some incredibly methodical work from Nakajima targeting Mizuki's neck.
[SPEAKER_00]: Good stuff, but just an incredibly slow pace.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was a fairly big botch from Nakajima in the closing stretch that kind of hurt it for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I only ended up going three and a half, but it was mostly good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we've got these semi-finals this was also on August seventeenth today.
[SPEAKER_00]: night four princess cup.
[SPEAKER_00]: The first semi-final match, a risuendo defeated yuki-erai, and I thought this rocked.
[SPEAKER_00]: The whole match just felt like a struggle to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were really just doing everything they could to win here.
[SPEAKER_00]: The work was not smooth at all, but for what they were doing, I thought it was perfect.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, you get right was just making the most unhinged faces in this match.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of amazing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And along with that, and she was working kind of meaner here.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they might have something in her as a heal.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's something to look for, going forward, and something I hope they capitalize on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Up to this point, this was my favorite match of the tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: I went four stars, incredibly happy to see Endo win.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then that was followed up by my new favorite match of the tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: Miyo Atonabe defeating Shoko Nakajima.
[SPEAKER_00]: God damn these two are so good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just the opening stretch had some of the most just like fast-paced and smooth looking exchanges you'll ever see.
[SPEAKER_00]: They did some crazy monkey flip spots that really showed how I think pound for pound.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shoko Nakajima and Miyo Watanabe are two of the strongest women's wrestlers in the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: The body control they had was amazing.
[SPEAKER_00]: The pace in the match [SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of certain stop, certain stop, but like in a good way.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was planned to do that way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like they would kind of slow to a crawl as they got more worn down in the match to the point where there was like moments where you just kind of collapsed and Shoko was just waiting for her to get back up to strike.
[SPEAKER_00]: and initially you think it doesn't it looks like oh they screwed up here but it's like no this was all by design this it's supposed they're showing just how damn tired both of them are and just how evenly matched they are and I thought they worked [SPEAKER_00]: They did a really good job getting that story across and I thought this match was fantastic.
[SPEAKER_00]: I went for and a quarter on this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Highly recommend checking out both of the semi final matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're both well worth your time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then that will lead us into the finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: of the princess cop.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the twelfth one.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I had that in my notes anywhere until I just saw it on the match graphic I'm looking at.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that show is happening in Kirk and Hall.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have a handful of matches announced.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Machito versus X, and I believe X is someone that was in the tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if X will be announced prior to the show, but we'll see.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have a special singles match between Yuna Manose and Togo, which that should be good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Two hard hitters.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking forward to that.
[SPEAKER_00]: There is a DDT heavy metal weight championship Battle Royale, I believe.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that should be fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Looking forward to seeing a bunch of the Tokyo Yoshi goofballs in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then your main event of course is the tournament finals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Miyo Watanabe facing off against Arisu Endo.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in all honesty, I think this could go either way.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think both have a good shot at winning here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Miyu just lost the title, not just lost, but she lost the title to Mizuki.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, she wants to get back in the title contention and Ando's never made it this far on the tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is like the Cinderella story.
[SPEAKER_00]: So can she break through that ceiling and beat me and then go on to potentially bigger and better things?
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the answer to that.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out.
[SPEAKER_00]: My gut says me, but also I don't know if they're going to have Mazuki lose the title yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in that case, I don't think you would put me against her.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Endo can challenge for the title in Luz and it's no big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I would want to see me, you challenge Mizuki for the title and then lose to her again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe I'm flipping, maybe I'm going Endo.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it would be, you know, yes, I think that would be a great move to help elevate Endo.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think she could have a really good match against Mizuki.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you save Mizuki versus Miyu for down the road if you want to put the belt back on Miyu again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, okay, official, official prediction, a resuit endo beats Miyu at another, which may be a stupid thing to say because this is a very conservatively book company.
[SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm sticking with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Locking it in.
[SPEAKER_00]: Resuendo wins the Tokyo Princess Cup Twelfth.
[SPEAKER_00]: Feel free to point in the laugh at me when I'm wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and that brings us to the third tournament going.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got Marigold's Dreamstar Grand Prix, twenty twenty five.
[SPEAKER_00]: Look.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think this shit sucks for the most part.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to sugarcoat it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I watch the matches mostly.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying I fully pay attention to all the matches, but look, they're not getting my attention.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so on the tenth, I have, what are my notes?
[SPEAKER_00]: I've got me some at Sui defeats my soccer eye.
[SPEAKER_00]: Me Sui wins with a roll-up that soccer eye had to help her apply.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, that was bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I remember that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yuzuki defeated Sariyamaoka and a match that I thought was worked at a glamour, damn near glacial pace until they wrestled long enough to tease a time limit draw.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cause yeah, I think that one went until like fourteen minutes.
[SPEAKER_00]: and then Victoria usually picked up the win.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that honestly, that match was kind of disappointing between your two future stars, but better than a lot of the other slopp on this tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, I got distracted.
[SPEAKER_00]: Auto-correct changed Nigi Sinozaki's name to Nagoya Nozaki, and it broke my brain for a second.
[SPEAKER_00]: But she beat Mariah via a countout, and a fine match.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really, okay, so the venue for this show was really interesting, where it looked like an auditorium for the most part, but you did have other like seating up on the stage.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it was a very interesting looking venue.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that match I didn't write and I don't remember it well enough to give you a rating, but I enjoyed it well enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and then you had utami defeating Sariyamaoka in what I believe was a very good match, but also underwhelming for it being the first singles match between your current Ace and your future Ace.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think if this match had happened between two other wrestlers on the roster, I would probably be raving about and calling it like a hidden gem.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I wanted more out of these two.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was good, but not great.
[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up going three and three quarters.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably the strongest recommendation I can give to anything from this tournament so far.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say if you absolutely need to watch some grand star, dream star Grand Prix, utami versus Sariyama Oko is your way to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then on the seventeenth, my saccharide defeated Kazuna Tanaka and Maria defeated Reyesetto.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that takes us to looking at the standings.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's still a lot of tournament left to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: This runs through September, fourteenth.
[SPEAKER_00]: So things are not set in stone at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: The red block is currently headed up by utami at six points.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Mayu and Sariyamaoka and Maria sitting at four points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Koke and Shaki sitting at two and Rhea Setto at zero.
[SPEAKER_00]: So again, we don't nothing set in stone yet, but it's it's to be expected that utami Victoria Yuzuki might you utami Sariyamaoka they're all going to be near the top of the block.
[SPEAKER_00]: and then we head over to the blue block.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a three-way tie at the top for six points between my soccer eye, Misa Matsui and Nagisanozaki.
[SPEAKER_00]: Chenyota is in, I guess, fourth place with four points.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mirai has three points, Chikugota has two Miku Aono has one, though she has only wrestled two tournament matches so far.
[SPEAKER_00]: She still has one, two, three, four, five matches left to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: So she's still got a lot of tournament ahead of her.
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's Miku Ayuno sitting at one point and then Kazuna Tanaka with zero at the bottom.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's to be expected.
[SPEAKER_00]: I, I, shuttered a think that Misa Matsui is coming out of the block is the winner.
[SPEAKER_00]: My soccer eye has, from what I've seen has had a fairly decent tournament.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, her in Chan Yoda, my, were courses of the company at the moment.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm thinking my Sakurai or Miku, you know, are your winners for the block overall.
[SPEAKER_00]: But again, a lot of tournament left to go who can say.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk more about it next time.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're back.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then that is mostly what I have for you guys today.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, the one other thing I've got is talking about the wave-eighteenth anniversary show from August tenth, uh, two big matches on that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: You had the Regina Dwaye of title defense, Kohaku successfully beating Sia Kamatani for the title.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, now this, [SPEAKER_00]: was a match that felt like a big deal when Silas here.
[SPEAKER_00]: This was her first loss in at least the calendar year maybe longer.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure, but this match felt like it mattered and the loss was a big deal here.
[SPEAKER_00]: just great fast-paced action throughout I thought and they like they did a great job making it feel like a huge win like Kohaku you know brought back the title from the invader and Sia did a great job to sell the loss like she was just she looked legitimately upset to have lost that title it I thought she did a tremendous job in losing here [SPEAKER_00]: So great stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really just kind of helps Sia's wrestler of the year resume.
[SPEAKER_00]: I went four and a quarter on that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well worth checking out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the main event of that show was a light tube death match.
[SPEAKER_00]: June Kassai defeating Yuki Miyazaki.
[SPEAKER_00]: You really got the whole June Kassai experience in this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: They went through so many light tubes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Miyazaki got skewers in her head.
[SPEAKER_00]: the finish uh...
junka sigh here with the pearl harbor slash he landed so hard off of a ladder on her that the uh...
goggles he wears went flying off his head this was great they both worked really hard put on a super fun match uh...
if you're death match person check this out it was a great time i went for stars uh...
and that is my way for port and i think it's all i got for you guys i [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't watch damn near anything else besides tournament action this past two weeks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I barely done anything else entirely.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, what we got, Kelly's corner, what am I talking about?
[SPEAKER_00]: My co-host for this show has been the new liquid death flavor, serial criminal, which tastes just like fruity petals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like it is astounding, how close they got to making it taste like the serial, which I am a big fan of.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I give my whole hearty recommendation to liquid death serial, criminal.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is, that's the first Kelly's corner, second Kelly's corner.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shin Godzilla got a new release in the States, a new four K restoration restoration.
[SPEAKER_00]: Upscaling, it's not a restoration, it's like a new movie or new ish movie, so it's not like they're saving it from falling apart film or whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going four K upscaling, but either way, I am ninety-nine percent sure this was a new cut of the movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I know this is, this is the version we'll finally get on Blu-ray that is actually good, and isn't so fucked up from funimation.
[SPEAKER_00]: They really just blurtured that movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like there were scenes in this cut that I do not recall from the original movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: There is one scene that I'm damn near positive.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen Florida Ground Online as a deleted scene for years.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I believe this is a new cut of the movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Shin Godzilla is one of my all time favorite movies.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you've never seen it, check it out.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's very much a political drama more than a Kaiju movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean that in a good way.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love Kaiju movies.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's what if Aaron Sorgen wrote a Godzilla movie essentially?
[SPEAKER_00]: And again, your mileage may vary, but I had a really great time with this movie and highly recommend it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if it is still in theaters by you go check it out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that is it for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will talk to you guys next time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Taylor will most likely be back from forming Terrible Pro.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how that goes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, find us on Twitter, find us on Blue Sky.
[SPEAKER_00]: I barely use Twitter.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't find me on Twitter.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'd pretty much just use it to look at stuff that people send me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't actually go on there myself anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Subscribe to the show if you haven't.
[SPEAKER_00]: Give us a rating and review if you haven't.
[SPEAKER_00]: We would really appreciate that if you feel like [SPEAKER_00]: donating to us.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can do that at redcircle.com slash show slash jumping dash bomb dash audio.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for checking out the show.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for sticking around long enough with just little me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really do appreciate it if you enjoyed the show.
[SPEAKER_00]: Give me a shout.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I will talk to you guys in two weeks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Take care yourselves.
[SPEAKER_00]: Have a good one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.
