Talking PLURIBUS: Episode 9 Breakdown & Discussion (Season Finale)
Episode Transcript
Hi everybody.
Welcome back to Talking Pluribus, the season finale.
And wow, Oh my goodness, did you guys bring your atom bombs?
But what an episode, what a season.
I love this show.
I know it's not necessarily a show for everybody, but it's a show.
I feel like that was made specifically for me.
And this season finale really hit all the points I wanted it to hit.
Very awesome stuff and I can't wait to get into the discussion.
We were lucky enough to be joined by a special guest on this episode.
And also my best friend was or is in town for the holiday and was sitting in the background and you can hear him occasionally pop up throughout the show.
Truly thank you for all the support this season.
Let's not waste any more time and get right into the discussion.
So much of this episode gave me a feeling and emotion that I've never felt before when watching this season.
I know we've had Joe on the show.
We've had other people calling in that don't like Carol, you know, have problems with Carol as a person.
This was the first episode I found myself staring at the screen going, going, Oh my God, no, don't do Carol.
You're horrible.
What are you?
What are you doing?
Like I was yelling at her in the beginning half of this episode.
I viscerally was getting angry as Manos was trying to just slap some sense into her.
Like verbally slapped some sense into her, into the situation.
Like, no, what are you doing?
And then the way that whole beginning part of this episode happened was different than I imagined it, but still interesting and multilayered.
And I like how he we also answered a huge question I've had like, really, I've had this question since since we first saw Carol start to do these things.
Can Carol, can anybody else do the, the, the killing all of them, killing multiples of them by getting angry, yelling at them?
And we found out that they absolutely can.
And we also connected the dots to a certain extent with the radio waves that he was messing around with.
Somehow that radio wave that he was messing with connects to the carrier wave that's causing them all to communicate maybe.
And he was sort of trying to tap into that, seeing if by setting them up like that, it was creating a an interference in the signal that they were getting on that particular radio wave that he was going on to.
Again, I would be wrong and I'm suppositioning a few things, but whatever.
And then also, we did get to see somebody convert and change over to the Hive.
And that was one of the creepiest scenes we've had of the series so far.
If last week was very science fiction, tonight felt horror to me at times, like you're in a horror movie of, of, of what these things are doing at times and how quickly they turn things off and turn things on.
Like, right, everyone's doing the the chant.
But to try to convert her and make her feel like it's a big spiritual thing that's happening.
But the minute they turn that girl, the minute they all just shut up and they start to clean everything up again like it never had, like, like, yeah, we did the whole smoke and mirrors.
The similar situation, like in Vegas when they were doing the James Bond game.
It's not much different.
They're just putting on a show for the humans.
And then once it stops, once she was into the thing, it's let the animals out.
I'm in the hive, you know, smiles.
But it's not like a happy smile.
It's you're in the hive now.
It doesn't fucking matter.
And I also think it was very cool.
Not cool, horrible, but I thought it was really, really a great reveal and a great depiction of another thing that I said in my stupid short that I put out this week with when I was saying so she doesn't really care about you.
She cares about everyone the same.
The feelings that she has for you are bullshit.
It's a manipulation.
It's all a game.
It's not a game.
It's all she cares about.
I think my exact words were she cares as much about you as any other person on this earth.
And and we see that tonight in the way that she handles and discusses the situation with Mano and with Manny.
And when she says to Zocia, she's like, Oh, you just care about me, right, Right.
I'm special, I'm special.
I'm your one and only, right.
And dude is let and she's like, no, I care about that guy just as much.
Well, you don't know him like you know me.
You're missing the point, Carol.
And I did not think that when they got into the whole girl of the world thing in this episode, it would.
The way that manifested out into the decisions that needed to be made was a little different than I thought it was going to be, and in a good way.
It was done in a very cloak and daggery kind of sensation in the way it was turned over, in the way that Carol needed to discover that the world offered her more honesty, that ultimately she wasn't special, That ultimately this wasn't Helen, that this wasn't the girl you know, it was her heart.
She allowed herself to fall in love.
She allowed herself to get manipulated by the emotional apex of all the situations.
But she did not in any way, shape or form conceptualize the whole situation of what the world really is right now.
And Zocia, for whatever it's worth, or the the hive, if you want to call Zocia, Zocia an avatar for the hive, was honest about it.
You know, it never pulled any punches.
Carol kept hearing what she wants to hear and started to become an abusive partner in some ways or a controlling partner in some ways.
People could yell at me all you want be like, oh, like 1's in the hive.
But when she's like, don't, I don't want you talking to that person.
It just was like, whoa, like it was all those moments where you see the level of insecurity she had with this situation.
It's not about an insecurity with herself.
I think in this in that particular situation, it's not about an insecurity about Zosa's feelings for her, for her, but it's a it's I think an insecurity for what she had for her feelings for Zosa, knowing that she's in a situation that she's she's taking the red pill or taking the blue pill.
And that's an accepting being in the matrix and fine with it.
But play the game a little bit.
Don't break character.
Can't you just tell me you like me better?
Can't you just tell me that you you don't like this guy?
You don't know enough about him to function on this situation?
Gotti says this episode is way better when it's filtered through you, Phil Oh, I love you Gotti.
Thank you so much.
I love Carol.
I have no idea why I care so much about her or the show as a whole, but I do.
Pixie Vine says I Joe would be like we waited 9 episodes for this shit.
What did Joe dirty locks think of this?
I'm sure he thought very more very closer to what PJ Donahue in the live chat thought.
We got coconut in the live chat.
Carol was annoying my soul up until the last minute.
The atom bomb was enough for me.
I needed her to snap out of it.
We got Jesse in the live chat.
It depends who you're asking Jesse.
Jesse in the live chat asks how bad is this show.
If you ask Joe dirty locks, he might have some answers for you.
If you ask me, I might have different answers for you.
So but we always have a great time and it's always great to see you, Jesse.
And how would you like some mango ice cream?
I need some damn mango ice cream.
La La la, La La La La.
We have Miss Moni sunshine in the live chat and we've got Manos almost killed Zosha.
He almost did, but was he?
But he he yes, Manos almost killed Zosha.
So I was pausing again for for radio edit.
Yes, Manos obis killed.
I'm cracking myself up trying to trying to stop and do proper edits.
Yes Manos almost killed Zocia he got but he was kind enough to tell her he was going to do it.
I do think that's hilarious.
And I thought I thought the moment when Carol walked in on them and they're sitting on the couch.
It was such an innocuous moment with them sitting on the couch and Carol's look at her face like she walked in with with them mid mid coitus and I didn't want to say something dirty there.
Mid coital action, mid coitle action.
So he was and he walks in and they're just sitting there like, oh, hi, Carol, come on, sit down.
But then in that moment, like when she goes, she lays to the ground and you see that like, I'm I'm losing my shit, you know, or, or something what she said to say to Carol, something's about to happen.
Carol just gets this look on her face like holy shit and runs over there.
And then I thought that was just such an intense moment with shotgun coming out and probably the closest to any some of the people that want to see more action in this episode that you'll see with the shotgun.
But for me, the energy and the tension of this episode was in everything almost unsaid in watching Carol's whole journey through the emotional reactions of realizing that she was being manipulated.
Like being in that situation when you're in a dynamic where you figure out you just got ganked out of $5000, you're like, did I just get ripped off?
Like, you just get that look on your face.
It's that awful look on your face that you start to discover that and you start to feel that moment of that shit.
But we have a special guest with us this evening to share his thoughts on the episode and talk about this for a while.
I'm not sure how long we have him because he does have to get up for work tomorrow morning, but we do have a special guest for you.
Everybody.
Let me add, let me add him here before I before I introduce him on the stream, But you know him.
If you haven't already and you're listening to the audio cast and you're not on YouTube, go check out Teflon TV on YouTube.
He has some amazing breakdowns season of Pluribus and of and if you and if you have a favorite show, most likely he's covered it in some way, shape or form.
So make sure you check that out and check out all that stuff.
And also I do another podcast with him on the show from if you haven't checked that out called escaping from and you can subscribe to that podcast, but make sure you check out Teflon TV on YouTube.
Everyone welcome my friend and yours, the one and only the Don Tony Teflon.
What's going on, Tony?
What's going on?
There's no need for double Teflon in this, I know.
We get double double fisting Teflon.
Here we go.
What's going on?
Happy to be here.
Happy to join you for this for the final, the finale of of of Flurry Bus and and all that good stuff went up to everybody in the chat and everybody else like that.
And yeah, we're going to talk about this episode.
I'm here.
Talk about as long as I can be, I'll be here.
Absolutely.
And and if you at any point in time, Tony, need to run, don't, don't, don't feel like like you have to stick around with us because I do know you have to.
You actually have a real life and job.
You know you're not.
You're not some hippie.
Life job is yes, but life not that much one.
Fair, fair, fair.
Well, I got neither.
So, so here we go.
So, so Tony, I, I shared some of my thoughts.
I know you've been you've been one that has been liking the season, but more critical of it than I have.
And I know we had some predictions that some stuff came true, some stuff didn't happen in a slightly different way than we thought, but it did kind of come together in a way that we were generally talking about the two of them either together in some way.
You know, you thought maybe Manas would die, but what were your opinions on this particular episode?
And I still think he's going to die.
He just didn't die this episode.
But I still think he's going to get at it.
I don't think you can.
They can keep him around.
He's too much of A threat.
And listen, the man is very crafty.
We knew he's crafty.
He's more crafty than than you would give, I'd give him credit for and stuff.
But with everything in the way he's trying to work things out, you know, but As for a finale for a season, all right, So what are we trying to do when we when we have a finale for a season, right?
Especially for season 1, you make you, it has to make you want to come back for season 2.
That's the most important thing for any finale.
It has to make you want to see season 2.
Does this do that 100%?
It does it right off the bat.
It goes back to they use things that they set up earlier in the episode in the in the show with the eggs and the atom bomb.
They said that stuff earlier up and they paid that stuff off at the end of the episode.
So it doesn't make me want to see it 100%.
I want to see it maybe 2 years till we see it, but you know, but I definitely want to see it.
So I think the finale did a great job when you when you, when you look at the what a finale supposed to do.
I agree, and I think it's difficult because it's hard not to bring that energy into everything, isn't it Tony?
Like it's hard not when you're watching a show like this and watching every one of these types of TV shows.
It's hard not to bring.
And for me, myself personally, I can't speak for you and I can't speak for the chat, but for me, I can't not think that I have to wait two years.
I love this show, but this is about any show.
This is about severance.
This is about from this is about any of the Song of Ice and Fire series that are on right now, which is all the stuff we're watching in general.
I do think it did enough as well.
I I really like this episode.
I think, as you said, it did an amazing job bringing things back that were under talked about things that were mentioned, but they weren't mentioned so much that it would be obvious for the pop up.
People have mentioned the eggs.
I know a lot of people on Reddit have been talking about the eggs and a lot of people in our comments have been talking about that is the way to get the stem cell.
I like how they were specific that it's not that easy, but that in that but but it will be within a month that will get you Carol and and the nuclear bomb thing.
That's a great point, Tony, because that was just an aside.
That was something that was almost said as a joke.
And then when she goes back, she brought a freaking nuclear bomb.
So we would assume that the goal in season in season 2 is going to be to bomb the antenna, right?
Like that, like you?
Think I mean, they're not going to bomb.
That's the only thing they can bomb that that would work, you know, to get it done is to bomb the antenna.
But I I think it's, you know, it's going to I don't think they're going to need it.
Obviously they're not going to need it.
You know, you got, you got Manny.
Manny's figuring out that, you know, certain radio waves can free people.
He tried it with this guy, didn't work.
But it's only a matter of time before he finds the exact frequency to free people with the radio waves.
And I think that that's how it's all going to and that antenna that they have, they're going to broadcast those radio waves on that antenna.
And then that's how you free everybody in the world with that big ass antenna.
You put that out there, you put the frequency that frees them on that antenna.
And then that's how they free him.
And that's how the show ends.
I think that that's what I would say.
That's what they're setting up.
And that's where I think it's going to go when it's all sudden.
Do you think that's what he was doing with the the radio wave that he found?
Because again, that's another thing that they brought back.
Like, I wasn't sure what was going on with that radio wave earlier in the season.
They just kind of touched on that in a second.
So with that radio wave, is that the signal that connects them?
Like the electromagnetic wave that connects them all that they communicate on?
Did he find that signal?
Is that what that is?
Well, he was testing to see which one to break them, right?
So he was, he had a whole bunch of them and he kept trying to see and he got one that snapped them back from the seizure.
So.
She was starting, she was starting to come out of the.
Came out the seizure, he put that radio frequency on it got them out of the seizure.
That was that.
So then he was trying to find one that could actually free them in general from it.
So that's why he was talking to the guy, but he didn't find the right frequency yet.
But it's only trial and error and eventually he will find that frequency.
The antenna itself will be used to broadcast that frequency throughout the world.
If it can go all the way to Kepler, it can go all the way around the planet.
It will go around the planet, it will free everybody and the series is over.
Let's jump in the live chat.
Moni says she can't see Tony.
What's it mean?
You can't see Tony?
Moni says Teflon Tvi can't see you in the chat.
I don't think you can see me.
That seems like a weird Carol thing going on right there.
I love.
When you're talking about the chat, I can't be seen in the chat.
I don't see the chat.
I can't see that.
But if that's what she's talking about and I'm not in the chat so I can't see it but I hope she could see.
I will try to read some of your comments if anyone has the comments for Tony, Heather says.
I love that Manny calls them weirdos.
We got it might come out early 2027 so so maybe a little a year and a half wait.
Carol should have just asked for her eggs back.
You think you're welcome?
I think we need to get these guys to watch welcome to we'll talk about welcome to dairy a little bit before we got wolf spirit says hello Phil hello Don Teflon hello the hive season 4 from it's taking a bit longer to come up because they went back to their normal filming schedule after they changed season 3.
Snap, snap.
Carol chose the girl for a minute.
Yes, Carol definitely chose the girl for a minute.
And I want to unpack this for a second.
I mean.
That she was over 2 two weeks.
Exactly 2 weeks and if it wasn't for Zosia to being too fucking honest and this high being too honest Tony, they would have.
She would have pick the woman it was.
It wasn't even to your point that you were talking about on Tony stream.
Please check out Teflon TV and watch Tony stream on it.
Essentially like she was so manipulated by it and manipulated by the relationship, by the sex, by whatever the the whole intimacy aspect of it that she was ready to let the whole world burn.
She, she didn't give a crap, you know, she, she.
Was pussy whipped when you you know, and you're not supposed to get pussy whipped.
You're supposed to whip that pussy and she was pussy whipped to the point where you know I, you're my I you're my, you're my, you're my, you're my handler.
I, I love you.
You can't love him like you love me.
This is different.
No, it's not.
It's not different, Carol.
It's not different.
It's not different.
It's the same.
And I think when she got over there and that she, when she realized that, listen, this is all placating you to waste your time until they figure something out to bring your ass over.
That's what finally snapped her out of the whole situation.
That was it.
But if that never happened, she would have been on the fucking truck climbing Mount Everest with this chick next.
She would have been she was doing everything.
And as I said, listen, I said, that's what I'd be doing, right?
I said that many times I'd be doing that if it was me.
And I was that I'm going to see the S, I'm going to see that going Eiffel Tower.
I'm smoking the blood off the top of that.
I've already smoked the blood off the top of the Empire.
And you haven't smoked in like 20 years, you know you.
In my in my younger days, I have smoked many.
I think we smoked three times on the Empire, on the on the Statue of Liberty torch.
We smoked on there, I think 3, three different times in my life.
I've done that, you know, but I'd be doing all that shit.
I'd be all over the world doing all this shit the same way she was doing that.
I would have been done that shit, you know, but I wouldn't have got pussy with like like like she's got.
But you know, it was she she snapped her back to reality when she's like, listen, and she realized they just placating me with something.
She should have realized that she was being placated.
For her to really think that this woman had any type of feelings for her was just hubris on her behalf.
She should have never thought that.
She should have never felt that at any way that she was special in any way that there's going to come to a point where that she can just, oh, this is different.
We are different and everything else.
You should have known better than that.
But, you know, hubris.
Yeah.
And I mean, I mean, I realized that you were looking at yourself again on the screen.
Sorry about that.
I like you were watching the preview of the actual broadcast.
I just switched it just to me.
So it's a little hopefully it's a little less annoying now.
But but but yeah, it was hubris.
It was also, do you think some of the seriousness of that too, was her being embarrassed that she had feelings, that she was whipped, that she was so focused on it because it was almost like don't, don't talk to him.
Don't.
Like she almost didn't want him to know or didn't want any of that information to go.
I think she was like fully aware.
It was almost like if you let someone con you because you're that lonely that you don't mind.
You know, like when someone's letting somebody that's just talking to you for money or a girl that's like trying to mess with you and just get your money.
Like, I don't care.
I don't care.
Just take my money.
It's not I'm lonely enough.
It doesn't matter.
And I think she was, she was almost embarrassed by it, Tony.
I was like that when I was young.
I remember David, this chick, Janet, and she had broke up with me back in the day.
And I remember specifically, like telling her like, I don't care if you see anybody else, just come see me once in a while, please.
You know, like I was like that whipped up and everything else.
Go see someone.
I don't care.
Just don't tell me about it.
And you just come see me once in a while.
And I was hoping, I guess I think back that eventually I'd be able to win her over as long as she kept coming to see me.
I think it was a situation like that.
She knew they were lying to her, but she was having such a good time.
And compared to everything else she was doing, like all by herself and, you know, with the golf balls and hitting him, this was a great time in her life.
She was having fun.
But as when, you know, first started clicking, that's why she was like, you got to get away from don't come around.
She was kind of like, you know, like the guy, like, like the first dude was with the with the boys.
I was just about to to say that This is why, This is why I love talking to Tony because one of the many reasons I like to talk to you.
I was literally about to say the same thing she is.
We railed on him and people in the chat railed on that guy for playing his stupid James Bond games and and gathering a gaggle around him and, and, and doing all this inappropriate stuff.
Carol wasn't that off of that.
She was doing exactly, not exactly, but 85% of the same thing.
You know, just because she was calling.
It she did it in her own way.
Exactly, she was calling it affection Tony, but ultimately it was the same thing.
You know, basically it's it's you're playing some weird friggin shell nutshell game manipulation game, some magic make believe and you're allowing yourself to get to get someone just gank you up, put their hand up your butt and you treat you like a puppet and.
Blowing bubbles with people across the tub and everything else and all this good stuff, you know, That's every time of life, you know?
And we got the amazing, the wonderful, the great Fernandez tea, giving us a super chat tonight.
Thank you, Fernandez.
Tea let me let me start Fernandez tea gave me a super chat last he sent it to my phone.
He sent to me and I didn't have my phone on me so I couldn't shop him out.
So thank you Fernandez for that super chat on the last stream we did.
I really appreciate it.
I didn't see it until till next morning.
So thank you, He is the best.
He's funded most of our Internet over the last couple of years.
So thank you.
Fernandez Tea, Yo Phil and Teff, haven't seen it yet, so you're on mute, but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's.
Okay?
Whenever you read this or see this, we wish you well.
Mr.
Fernandez, Tea, thank you so much.
Whoa, pause on the really a Pixie getting getting fun.
Molly says people have no attention spans.
I really like this.
And as Daryl said in the live chat, reiterating what we said, Carol becomes Kumba.
He she kind of did with the, I think even more so with the play acting rather than yes with the thing, but just playing in the play acting kind of what you were saying, Tony, She was, she was going through the motions of it and enjoying every goddamn second of it.
Or or maybe she wasn't, but she was no cuz she literally said in this episode, and I'm not making it up, she said I'm the happiest I've ever been.
Happier than when she was with Helen, happy with anybody.
You know, like she in this situation Tony was the happiest she's ever been.
Because when you have somebody right who was your ideal look like she looks exactly like she wants her to look.
But then you have somebody who knows how to please you in every way because they have the ability from every girlfriend you ever had.
They know exactly how not to piss you off.
They know exactly what to say to keep you going.
They know exactly if you like a thumb up your ass or not.
They know exactly which way to spin it when it's up there.
They know exactly what you want to stop and want to start.
When you have that, how you not going to be that happy?
I mean that that's just what it is.
And anything you do, you can just do when you could just feel great about doing it with no shame.
Shame until it came to Manny.
She had shame that she was doing it.
But in in, that's why she bounced, so she could didn't have to live in that.
Shame, Tony, that's the funniest television show you're on.
Greyjoy has ever been your representation of him right That does she like a finger in the bomb?
This is Jamie to don't answer that question.
Jamie.
That's the that's the best year on moment in the in the entire like he doesn't have many, but that's my that's my favorite of his moments.
So we so we see not not shot for shot everything we were saying, but I think a lot of stuff Tony and I were saying throughout the season did end up popping up here.
We also didn't I this is something I predicted that we might see and we did see it.
And I thought it was another way of showing the nefariousness of these fucking things.
Was the beginning of this episode seeing the little girl go through the ceremony and and turning the minute, not even the minute, dude, the second, the second she she starts to turn, everyone just shuts up.
They're like going Hobbit.
You know, they're doing the they're chanting, they're trying to make it a spiritual thing for this person so they feel more comfortable getting into this.
And the minute she changes, they just stop.
Let's clean up.
It doesn't matter anymore, you know, and it just shows how how much bullshit and manipulation all they're doing it all for these people, Tony all for.
Everything is just an act.
It's all an act.
And they, yes, obviously you're going to be able to manipulate a little tiny girl like that.
She's the only one there.
She's by herself.
Of course she wants to play with the goats and shit.
And you know, they give you a little sad moment of the goat running after her and then go like that and she don't give a fuck about that goat.
This is before she was hugging the goat, loving the goat.
Now she has.
So why they say you're happy, you're not truly happy.
You're not happy as they say she was happy she be loving the goat like she was, but she's not.
You know what I mean?
It's just not.
That's not what it is.
And I like the fact that they did that because they show you exactly how sinister this whole situation really isn't, truly is.
Yeah, and the fact that they did the sinister Ness.
Excellent, excellent point.
Cuz they did the sinisterness and they also did it.
I don't even know if that's a word.
And they did it through smiles, like they had her smiling before in this very unique way.
I'm happy, I'm nervous, I'm smiling, I'm hugging a goat, all that sort of shit.
And then when she turned, the smile got like from here to it's like joke now.
Now you have Joker smile, you know, it's like, now you had the Joker smile.
It's like, and the GOAT, that symbolism of the goat chasing after her was just like, it broke me a little bit.
Let's jump in the chat, Law says.
I love the symbolism.
Carol's police car control the others, then the just married car.
Now she's more into love, not her initial mission.
Mano's ambulance, healing the world from sickness.
Oh, OK, I did.
I didn't even think about that.
But that's some that's some good.
That's some good symbolism, Law.
That's some good stuff.
That definitely some good stuff.
Killmonger says.
I've always been jealous.
I wouldn't be cool talking with a girl who's seeing someone else.
No fair.
I hear you, but that wasn't jealousy that.
Wasn't jealousy.
Yeah, that was I'm saying this.
I've been there.
So I know when you are feeling someone, as much as I was in love with this chick back when I was like 15 years old and stuff, you know, you're willing to do whatever it takes to get that person to come back around you.
That's all you want is that person around you.
And if it's like, hey, are you seeing somebody else?
God, you feel that eventually you'll win them over once again as long as you can get them to keep coming back.
And whatever it takes to get him to come back and just not cut you off cold is what you go for.
And then that's what she's going for.
That's why she was like, yeah, we got to bounce.
He ain't allowed to be around, man.
Manny, don't come around him.
Don't see him.
Don't do anything like that, you know, and all that good stuff.
And she just took off with Shorty.
She was like this.
She was like, you know, we have to do Carol, Sarah.
And she was like, fucking.
I'm going to this time we're out.
Yeah.
We're going around the world together.
We're going to get out of fucking Dodge City, they showed Carol asked for.
They should have showed Carol asked for eggs to be destroyed.
They can't refuse her.
I mean she should have turned and said then I want my eggs back right now.
Absolutely.
That is hemorrhoids hurts.
Nothing hurts more than the hemorrhoids in there in the live chat though.
Hemorrhoids hurts.
Great to see you in the live chat.
We got What else is someone scared me when she decided to talk to Zocia.
A lot of that was scary when like everything with Zocia and every because I kept waiting.
OK, Tony, they didn't do exactly what you were saying in a Tony has mentioned in previous streams that one of the big deciding brick wall points that we're going to get to maybe is with these things that eventually they're going to have to say no to her in some way, shape or form.
They didn't quite say no to her in this episode, Tony, but they did give her some resistance of like, like she was like, tell me you love just me.
I mean, that was a version of saying no.
I don't just love you.
I love everyone the same.
They kind of did in a weird way.
If you want to look at it in a way, they kind of did show her a brick wall.
No, you're not more important than this point, Carol.
No without saying no.
They kind of said no without saying no to her and didn't refuse her a thing like a nuclear bomb.
But they refused her the love that she needed to to stay brainwashed in this a little bit.
Yeah, they definitely did that.
And that's kind of when it started flashing for her that that, you know, that, that she's just a, a meat puppet to them and eventually they're going to take her over and stuff, you know.
But no, they didn't say no exactly.
I still think they got to at some point they have to have that.
They have to have the point where they say no.
I'm just walking away at disappearing and going out of sight, out of mind.
Could be saving that for the next season to actually say no on something.
Once they know what their plan is and everything else, I'm sure they're not just going to allow them to do it.
They're going to have to eventually say no.
So I think we will get that that like the hard facts of that that happens.
But you know, it's this didn't happen this season.
But yes, they they did hint around a hint around not helping her as much.
As right, not not being not being quite as transparent with that.
But what is super transparent, Tony, is this recap.
Oh, we open up, we start to see someone's turning ceremony.
We see the chance, the manipulation as everyone as the mum is smiling.
We talked all about this almost a few seconds ago, Tony, But I thought this was visually really kind of cool to see this.
And and I thought the the audio editing with the with the chanting and everything stopping right away when she turns was really haunting.
I'm I'm glad we saw this.
Do you think anybody else will turn and are you?
Did you enjoy this scene?
Did you enjoy getting this, getting to see somebody turn like this?
I'm glad they showed it the show, the censoriness of it, but I you know, she could have been our Wilson like that girl we could have cared about like we we still are dealing with people like Manny.
Manny would be the guy that I would care about.
I can't even know about Manny than than Carol, right, In all honesty, for the show, you know, she's the star of the show.
What was that show going through?
But you know, I I care more about Manny and then her, but he's still not Wilson.
You know what I mean?
Not there.
She could have been.
If they somehow got that girl there with the three of them, then you would have someone like that.
But I understand why they did turn her and everything and all that.
And this is this when she says, oh, we turned her and she's happier than she ever be.
She'll tell you herself.
Of course she's going to tell you what else we going to tell.
It's the truth.
It's because she tells you that and we got the manipulation.
We've seen it right.
People were saying, oh, she's breaking free because she's saying I know she's saying I just the manipulator because she said we are I we love you.
I I love you.
I totally.
Love you, Yeah.
We, we, we.
I totally love you and Jesse.
I'm already there, Jesse.
Yeah, but but tonight's more about having a cult.
We are the hive and we are your friends till the end.
Hidey Ho.
It's been fun.
It felt very cultish, says the coconut.
And I, I got episode 1 playing.
It's scary now that, you know, she's got the eggs working on it.
And DJ says I care more about Manny as well.
It's hard not to care more about Manny just because he's more of an earnest character working on a cure and actually in this world in a positive way.
Where is Carol is she's she's she's tough.
She's tough to let she's I mean, I've never had a problem with her up until this point.
But in this episode, she her stubbornness and her kind of mean streak in the way she's reacting to him when she when she sat sort of just like, like we all dealt with people like that.
And it's I get it.
She wants to protect her emotions and protect her feelings.
But it was a little, it was a little hard to watch Tony.
And I don't mean hard like hard television to watch, but hard like I'm getting pissed at her watching her refuse this guy where he's just like, I'm trying to save the world in every way.
She's trying to sort of interrupt the flow of action to just put her bullshit in there was just really frustrating to me.
I don't know.
I don't know how you felt about that.
Yeah, one 100%.
You know, it's it's, it's just when you deal with her, it's just why would you want to deal with this chick?
Why?
And we just see it because everything is about her and it just goes through this episode shows you how greedy she is.
It's 100% about her.
Everything she did this episode was just to pleased herself.
It was all about her.
That's the way the whole life was in a relationship with this one girl who just willing to put up with her shit.
You know what I mean?
Couldn't even trust her enough to drink while she's trying to get an eggs harvest and stuff.
You know, I had to put fucking devices on, so how could you care about such a miserable person?
She hasn't made that flip.
Now we see her make a little bit of a flip when we when you when you see her dealing with you know, all right, fuck it, it's time to end the world.
But she she's not.
This is the whole thing about Carol and this is the thing I'll say is she comes today with the Adam by fuck it.
It's time to end the world.
Not because of the people in the world, it's all because of her because they're going to take her ass over and she realized she's going to get body snatchers like, well, they're going to body snatch me.
Then I guess I got no choice what to do.
You know, I'm going to have my last sex with this chick, haven't dropped me off at a helicopter, and now I'm now we're out of here and stuff, you know?
So again, it's a greedy mentality.
While Manny is 100% for the people, he's out there for the people.
He's not doing it for himself.
He's doing it for everyone else in the world.
She is just doing it for herself and that is exactly what's going on here.
I'm glad that dude took off that Bruins, that Bruins hockey jersey.
I'm glad.
I'm glad he did that.
I'm very, very happy he took that that, that, that thing off.
Yes, this is my friend Nick.
Everybody in the live in the live Joe Joe and I've talked about him a lot before.
This is this is producer Nick dropping my his drink all over my floor.
Thank you, Nick.
He's a great producer.
Yes, yes, He just produced.
He just produced spilling liquid all over my floor.
It is.
It is.
It works.
He's cleaning it up, though.
Say goodnight, Nick.
Goodnight.
I love.
Everyone of you a lot.
Thank you, Nick.
As you can see, he's not not quite as verbal as Joe, but he's he's a lot nicer of a guy.
I just came from a hockey game that was interesting.
Right.
Nikki.
Nikki Baby.
Thank you my friend.
OK, so Thisby said she was so bonded by the hive and she met herself from the 1st 2 episodes with the knowledge of radio going against the 500,000 kilometers, learning English where Carol was alone against the world.
Yeah, I mean like Carol was alone against the world, but not as alone as Mano was.
I mean, I think, I think that's the thing about Mano and about who he is as a person and about his, his focus is he's, he's a good person Tony, but he's also somebody that actually truly does care about care about humanity.
100% he's he can't.
And it shows in this episode right from the beginning, right when he runs into it, he's like, this is what it is.
This is where you got to come outside, come inside here to get underneath the umbrella.
Do this.
They're going to have bugs on you.
They're going to have this.
You can't use the telephone.
I said straight, I, you know, I said gay.
Why are you going to use the telephone?
They're going to tap the telephone.
That was the first thing he was thinking about.
They're going to tap the telephone.
Why are you going to do that or I can't use this translate with you and everything else so 100% and he couldn't be dissuaded.
Even though she tried to dissuade him and everything else, he was still set on his goal.
He would still do it without her.
He didn't need her to do it right.
He didn't need her for strength if she gave up like she did.
He was still going about his business in order to save the world.
He's doing it.
He is not doing it at the only only thing he wants is to save the world.
If he dies doing it, he dies doing it.
But he wants to bring the world back.
Her 100% is just about her and that's all she cares about is herself.
Absolutely and Manu was fine as Daryl says in the live chat.
Manu was fine being alone, unlike Carol and that bubble back looked that bubble bath looked cozy next to that window.
Oh, I would love that yes wicked piss a big let's just go back into the recap a little bit.
So we open up in the sky.
We play and we talked about all this whole scenes.
We're going to yadda yadda through this as one of the 13 people gets turned.
And then the minute that she turns, it's they stop the chanting and the ritual bullshit is over.
So as she goes and lets the animals out and she cries as we get the the, the sad little goat chasing after her.
And it's a beautiful situation.
So we cut over to the satellite image of the ambulance and Carolyn Zocia watching on TV.
We were talking about a little bit on the last stream, Tony, about how easily they can spy on you.
So like they're just broadcasting on Carol's TV, one of these satellite views of the ambulance of like perfectly zoned in and stuff like that.
And and she's having this whole conversation with Zocia being like, oh, so when's he coming?
And like immediately, it's unfortunate that Carol is not like she's not excited that she's going to see mono in any way, shape or form.
Tony.
She's like, she's pissed off about it and she's like, she's like angry and frustrated and scared about all this whole situation.
And but she does say is she does say if, if he's made it all the way from Paraguay, I've got to see him, right?
I, I got, I got it like Zoshi's like, I should just get out of here and you should go see him yourself.
And Carol is basically like, you know, do I have to, but I guess I should go see him for Paraguay.
I guess.
If she didn't want to really do anything, why would she have seen him in the 1st place?
I that's the thing I don't get necessarily like, why if she was going to do all of that, what's the point of meeting him in the 1st place?
She probably should have just said fuck you, I'm not going to meet you.
Yeah, I mean, but what's going to stop him from keep coming?
He's there, right?
So if you don't meet him, you don't do anything.
Like what's going to stop him?
He's going to honk the horn outside your house the whole fucking time.
He's not going to let off.
You got no choice but to see him unless you vacate the premises and leave.
And then if you do leave and he finds someone else, he says, where's Carol?
They're going to have to tell him exactly what Carol is, and they're going to bring him to him no matter what.
So you might as well get it done and over wet and meet this motherfucker because they ain't no other way around.
Yeah, Nick.
People are asking if Nick is one of the joined.
People are listening to the audio cast, can't see Nick.
Nick is very happy and he's my chaperone for this particular podcast, and he's gonna make sure that I don't say anything I shouldn't say and make sure I do proper usage of the nuclear bomb.
So we cut to the ambulance.
He's on his way.
He's getting there.
We speculated about this, Tony.
We were way off.
We're like, oh, it's going to take him 28.
It took him much, like, not even an hour.
Yeah, he was there.
He must have been crossing.
A couple people said he wasn't in.
I thought he was in Panama.
He was probably in Mexico.
He would add a doubt he had to be in Mexico to get over there that quick.
There's no other way.
Yeah, there's no other way.
And he's still practicing his Inigo Montoya thing.
My name is Inigo Montoya.
You killed my father.
I have to save the world.
Prepare to die.
Prepare to die.
Prepare to die.
So he looks apprehensive and and he beeps.
What I thought was kind of funny is he does fix his hair.
You notice he was like, he's like, am I looking?
Am I looking nice?
You know, he's doing his like, you know, making sure he looked good.
As he beeps the horn and waits for Carol, Carol heads out and they do the slow walk to each other and he does his thing.
You know, I'm not one of them.
I'm wish to save the world.
And she invites him in and she tells him to ditch the machete.
And they have this whole thing where he's like, I won't, I won't go in and or she's like invites him in.
She won't go in the house, she won't go in the ambulance.
And they have this whole big back and forth and she goes and gets her phone in the house, Tony.
And then we get our comedy for the episode, the whole the whole translation thing and the fact that it was translating everything and what they're saying the way they were argued.
We can't we can't reiterate this right now, but but we it's just one of those things that was like done really, really well because because we can't, I can't even give it credit.
Like we can quote every line, but it was one of those things that just really fucking worked because everything that they.
Were happening in the moment you had it's like there's certain jokes that you have to be there to understand how funny it was like you can't repeat it.
It's not going to have the same effect.
It's all about the situation that is there and everything else that way it goes and all that, you know, so that that's the way that that that that that's what it is and stuff, you know.
So it's one of those situation was a great to watch and everything, but if we did the same thing, it would not have that same effect.
It's in the moment, it's in there.
You have to watch it like that.
It's that's just.
It's really just that simple.
Not 100% and Gotti says hi to you, Nick, your cousin Gotti, who's in the live chat, says hi to Nick and yes, Nick is my chaperone.
Carol Spanish was pretty good.
Manny's English was pretty good, but like the way that it worked, the way she's talking shit, it's just one of those moments like she she's telling him to fuck off.
I'm done and and him going.
I I traveled like 800 mile or 5000 miles, 9000 kilometers just for this fucking shit.
Like she just stopped this shit like just a little asides Tony in the comedy of it was really be really fun if she.
Said something crazy like something she said L something like L like something she said L something like L stupid or something like.
It means like the stupid, like.
It makes no sense.
Called him like the stupid or some shit.
Like that, like that.
But you know, it was good.
It was good because obviously she's not fluent in Spanish, so that it was good that they put it in there like that, like she this.
Is amazing.
It looks like I have two pets I have, like the dog and the dog and the human who's a good, good human, good dog, Good, good human, good dog.
He's very happy.
Listen, he's happy.
I didn't delete Phil.
What a hockey game tonight, But why wouldn't you be happy?
Exactly, Fernandez says why did I delete?
I didn't delete any messages.
Fernandez T if someone if I haven't deleted a single message in the chat.
So I don't know if YouTube did it for you by accident, but I did not delete Fernandez's T No one delete Fernandez T's message.
If another mod did that, please don't throw it back in.
Throw it back in.
I I definitely, I definitely didn't mean, did you call Nick El Stupido or something?
Fernandez, I want to know what you have to say, please.
Yes, Nick.
Nick needs to have like we're, we're partially Nick's entertainment for the night after the hockey game.
We need to, we need to, we need to, we need to figure this out.
He's had a tough day.
We need to we need to make sure he has a good day and a bad hockey year.
Oh, it didn't.
It ended bad.
OK, good.
Anyways, tell her to speak.
Come under the umbrella.
OK, so then we get this whole thing with the umbrella, Tony.
And why is George the animal Steele kneeling behind?
Yeah, I love it.
That was a good one.
That was a good.
One mine mine.
Turnbuckle.
Yeah, he's gonna no eating the turnbuckle tonight, OK?
We can't do this one.
So Fernandez.
Fernandez is just joking.
He didn't write anything.
OK?
So, OK, So he tells her to come speak under the umbrella.
He refers to them.
These weirdos have no have eyes above us.
They can read our lips.
She says, let's go inside.
There's no drones and they talk about spy mics, insects, bugs.
We have the whole thing with the you know, like a like a confusion with the terms of bugs and stuff like that.
Why would they spy on me?
No, I watched your video.
You why would the weirdos send me the videos again?
I I don't have to we don't have to talk about everything they say to each other, but basically they catch up and she and he kind of explains that he's seen her video.
He doesn't know anything about these people and she says he says these weirdos.
This was the interesting line that dated something we were talking about Tony.
Why would why would 2 They help 2 humans destroy this thing and she's like, I didn't say Daedron destroy this things, but he says these things have no soul.
If we can't fix them, they're all better off dead.
So we've said this before.
Does is he someone that could kill?
Is he someone that could kill?
Yes.
If he felt like these were there was no hope to bring these people back, he would murder the entire population.
100% he would if he had to.
You know what I mean?
This like listen, the bottom line and we've talked about this, I've, I'd said this many a times.
I've said this for from I said this for Game of Thrones that if you need to know your enemy, you have to capture your enemy, right?
And you have to start experimenting.
Now I said it before you catch one of these things and from you catch one of these creatures, you need to bag one of these things up and you need to learn the enemy.
And that's exactly what he did.
He bagged up one of them.
He screamed in their face and he did his things that he had to do to experiment on the find the weakness.
That's the only way to win a war.
That's how you have to do when you're dealing with something like that.
And he's willing to go that mile, extra mile to do it.
Yeah, and he did.
He really studied.
He took what he learned from Carroll and he put that shit into practice.
And you actually got to see it through the process.
He wasn't yelling at it when he was.
When he was doing the doing the Carroll thing, he wasn't doing it because he was actually angry.
He was doing it as a tactic to be able to take them off the signal for a second and fuck with their mind a little bit.
Nick has not watched Pluribus yet.
That's why he's looking probably as confused as I do.
If you put me at his job, if you put me in a situation where I had to put up balloon displays in an auto dealership or answer calls or do business stuff, I'd be like, what do I do here?
So Nick has not watched this show.
Yes, the the Indian woman had to call her and complain to her and bitch at her again and and say this is all your fault, Carol, you suck.
That woman just hates Carol.
That woman just has a hair across her fucking butt for Carol.
When Zocia says you know what we got to do?
I was like, go collect all the bodies that died from the seizures.
I imagine now some older or newborn bodies not surviving the seas.
So Oh yeah.
Honestly what Mono just did allowed them all to eat.
Yeah, he gave me some more food.
I wish I had a shot called Ron.
That's funny as.
We got a super chat donation from Fernandez to you that asks does Nick have a shock caller on if?
If so, can you hit it once for me?
He can give me a give me a sack.
He can give me a sack.
I know I'm not going to really hit you.
Kumba will soon become the world's biggest deadbeat dad.
I wonder how he's going to react.
Like I'm still convinced somehow, Tony, that they get him on their side, that they get, that they get.
Someone has to die, Phil.
I mean, it has to get to a point where they start killing somebody or someone has to die.
I just can't mean you have to raise the stakes and death raises the stakes, you know what I mean?
Doesn't matter what show it is.
You can go through every show in the world.
It's a matter of Little House on Prairie.
Eventually somebody die in the show.
Someone got to die.
There's only a couple of people that we know of, you know, so they got to go.
And that's just the bottom line.
Whether it's Carol Kumba or or or Manny, someone got to go.
No, it's not Carol.
So I don't think, I don't know.
I think he may die or someone's got to go, but that's the only way it's going to go down.
So I can't see them being a trio and going there because it's it's just too simple to end the show then.
Speaking of that, it was really awesome to see two real characters interact like like it was.
It was something I missed that we haven't seen all year, Tony.
Like we keep seeing these moments where we see Carol alone or Carol dealing with another joined person or Carol dealing with all these idiot fucking people.
The other 1211 people, but seeing her deal with a real human that actually has an agenda to save the world and argue with him and have a conflict was like was what I've been hungry for.
I was starving in the forest for a long time, starving in the desert, and someone handed me a relationship cracker, handed me a real human cracker.
And that was the best cracker I tasted in my life.
Tony and I, I enjoyed seeing that whole situation that we saw with them in the translator.
I thought it was a lot of fun.
Daryl says Tony loves death.
I don't think Tony loves his death.
He's just saying that that for true drama to happen and for some of these people to really realize the weight that this force of a hive can have, except we need to see that they would cut your throat for this tower and or see the extra length.
I don't know.
But I know what you're saying that, but I don't think Tony, I don't think Tony loves death.
It's drama.
This is what has to happen.
Doesn't matter.
It all ends in this.
No matter what in our lives and everything else, this is the ultimate thing that brings people together, separates people.
But that's what it all comes down to in the end, right?
A life or death situation struggle and it has to come down to that struggle.
And only way to get that struggle is Carol's already said that and they've setting it up.
They're setting you up with it because they've already Carol said this episode, they wouldn't hurt her ants, right.
So they that over here setting you up, making you think they wouldn't hurt anyone.
They wouldn't do anything.
They have to flip that.
That has to be flipped and that's got that has to happen.
So there's no way around it.
I absolutely agree with that and I think at some point in time we're going to see these things be when they similar to the Borg.
Sometimes you can go on a Borg ship, Tony, and you can fuck with the Borg all you want and they don't.
They don't mess with you because they don't see you as a threat.
Once you are an actual threat, they get violent and when they go and actually try to blow up this fucking tower with that thing or blow up the radio waves or do whatever the fuck they do.
I think these things might look at these humans, these two, as more of a, not just a family that they need to swat or someone they need to turn it.
They might actually look at them as the legitimate threat.
Nick, you said you had something to say.
What did you get to say, buddy?
I love you, Fernandez.
We all we do love Fernandez.
I got we were talking about Fernandez.
Fernandez is the gives Tony and I both more super chats than anybody in the world.
So Fernandez, thank you for all the support you show us, and even from my friend that you can see the awesomeness that you are.
Even the fun stuff that you're saying, it's just.
But yeah, you are a great person.
Thank you, Thank you, Nick, because that that coming from that means even more because Tony and I say that to Fernandez all the time.
So he's probably, you know, it's like white noise at this point.
We got froth philosophy says Carol was using Zocia for her own happiness.
This is a good lesson for Carol in the long run.
Don't seek happiness from external forces.
I think maybe that was an overall theme for season 1 in some ways of Carol realizing that she needs to find her own stuff.
But Tony to the point, to the point I'd leave Mandy over over the snapping thing alone.
But with, with Carol, with this situation, she is.
It's no different than what you said, though.
At the beginning of the season, when she first was alone, she played the golf.
She did all the things to try to make her happy.
Now at this point, she felt this with Zocha.
She realized it was bullshit.
She sent her away.
What, what can she do now?
She's just going to be resigned to being miserable.
Yeah, and just blow up the word and bring everybody back and that's it.
Because now she has nothing else holding her back.
I mean, though she was just placating.
And her desire is not to be turned.
And she knows she's got about 30 days before she gets turned.
So her desire is not to become one of them and not be in that situation.
So she's going to do anything she can within these 30 days and not go that route.
Yeah, absolutely.
So the humans are different, Carol says.
The weirdos, OK, She's been 40 days.
He followed her.
They go to.
She sees Helen's.
He sees Helen's for a second.
They head into the house.
He's looking for some cheese curls and he he's looking for a microphone and he finds some cheese curls and he she's he's like snapping his fingers at her and she and she goes.
I don't speak snap, which I thought was kind of a funny line.
And I swear after he did that I snapped my fingers and then I realized it's probably the first time I snapped my fingers in like 15 years.
You're just like, wait, I don't.
Remember the last time I snapped my fucking fingers?
You know what I mean?
But I did it after he did it and I was like, oh, I'm, I can't remember the last time I snapped my fucking fingers.
I I don't.
I learned to snap real much later in life.
I couldn't whistle and I couldn't snap forever.
You'd always want to do that shit with the finger.
You know what I mean?
You know that shit with the finger that people used to do in school and snap it and make that noise?
I used to always want to do that.
I always thought that was.
We had this kid named Tucker Scott Tucker, he was.
He'd just do that constantly in class all day.
The thing with the no with the thing, Yeah.
The thing with yeah, it sounds like you're rolling rocks in your hand or something like that.
It's really.
Annoying snap snap.
Snap snap, snap, snap.
Snap, snap, snap with that finger and smack the finger on.
Dude the people that can like make their stuff snap like this, that's annoying.
So he was doing the character in the show was kind of snapping at her in the in the episode.
Kind of annoying.
Growing up, I was like, Nick, Nick, do you know, can Nick hear me?
Can you hear Tony?
Yes, I can hear him.
I.
Hear him through his microphone.
Right.
So I hear.
Perfect, perfect.
He has two things that annoyed me when I was in school back in the number one was the finger snap that that annoyed me.
That was annoying.
The the IT was super annoying.
Annoying because I couldn't do #2 was those motherfuckers who would turn their eyelids inside out.
I hated those fuckers, you know, fuckers, you Turk the eyelids and they turn them upside down and be on the island and they come at you and.
Shit, those people just needed to kill themselves.
And I hated those motherfuckers.
Me.
Too.
I'm with you, Tony and Lawanda la Tia Tia.
Oh, snap.
Frost, the philosophy says Carol will turn on day 6, not 6-7.
Don't say 6-7, she will.
She will turn on day 67676767.
OK, let me snap this in so I can do a radio edit here.
OK, so she says she needs a drink and she talks about not clock blocking like the first, your first mistake here, Mano, was clock blocking me for my booze like, and you're making my vodka turn warm like that.
That's really what this all comes down to.
She and he finds a little mini recorder or sensor in the in her cabinet.
She calls Zocia and almost immediately is like, what the fuck?
What the flying fuck thing you're going to do?
And is she is she spying on her?
Did you did you put it in there?
And she calls Zocia.
And so she's like, that wasn't us.
It was from 2011 and and in fairness, Tony, we mentioned earlier that they brought back the egg thing when they only talked about that in episode 1.
Until I've read in my notes here, I'm forgetting that they said it again tonight.
Just to give you a little clue of what's to come, later in the episode where she says Helen left the recorder there, Nick's enjoying the live chat for the very first time.
It is.
But the first time you see that live chat, you're like, Oh my God, people are actually watching this shit and they're talking to me right now.
It's a shock.
It is a shocking moment.
So she calls Zocha.
Gamemaker, I love you.
She calls Zocha and she asks her if she's spying.
And so Helen, get me.
I, I was mixed up a little bit here, Tony.
So Helen was spying on her to make sure she didn't just didn't destroy the eggs or something.
Yeah, so she didn't get in the booze, get into the booze to dilute that, you know, a body while she's doing.
The eggs.
OK, now that makes sense.
OK, I kind of missed the specifics of that, so thank you.
So it was not it was not them.
It was the weirdos.
It was my girl who did it.
And I need a drink now more than ever.
So Carol says she's tired and she'll save the world tomorrow, which I thought was a very fun line.
I'm.
I'm good.
I'm.
Going to do my part.
No, no, one second let's and, and, and she.
So she takes him to the neighbor's house and she says we'll talk tomorrow night.
Sleep tight and it's the Wilson's house.
She says she'll square it up when they get back because he's like, I won't stay at this house.
And this is where we get into mono being a kind of too much Tony for me, like and she should have because it's a stupid move.
Like you don't, I get it, Okay, We've talked about it.
You've talked about this.
I mean, you and I would probably be more like Kumba, but you know, we have, we have Joe one second Nick, we have we have.
This isn't school.
Put your fucking hand out.
Waiting for.
For yeah, exactly.
Come on, Please wait, Please wait.
Sorry.
You're you're you're in no way a distraction.
You're in no way a distraction for coming up with clever thoughts.
So.
So we're in the Wilson house and she's trying to square it up with them.
And I don't feel like in any way, shape or form, Tony, even if you're trying to save the world, it makes sense to eat dog food and all that sort of shit.
Like I like, I get it.
Even if you're Joe dirty locks in this situation, like how do you not feed yourself?
I I just feel like he's gone.
He goes a step too far.
Tony, what do you?
What do you?
Think, yeah, he we're not hunting animals while you're out there in the wilderness with your little machete and you want to say, oh, I'm not staying in this house, but yet you drove somebody else's fucking ambulance there, right?
So it's like you pick and choose when to be so high and mighty, but it doesn't pertain to everything, you know what I mean?
And she called them on his bullshit and as she had every right to.
And I guess she must have accepted it because he stayed his ass and he didn't go in that house.
He totally stays.
He's like, yeah, she's got a she makes the points.
Now.
Nick, what was, what is your question?
You've been, you've been sitting in the back of the classroom with your hands up for a while.
Nick, what?
What is your question?
I don't have a question, however, Fernandez, since you tell me I have to watch this the show, I will do it just for you.
And you will fall asleep just for him so.
Fall asleep for everything though that's not.
Fair.
That's your thing though, if you don't follow no.
Answer Nick's question yes.
Yes, OK.
Thank you, Nibs.
I will answer.
I will not ignore Nick's questions.
He's part of the show.
He's serving the role of Joe Dirty Locks for tonight.
No, don't put me in that perspective.
So.
Much more fun and happier and friendly than Joe Dirty Lock.
Please don't ever make me Joe Dirty Lock.
Fair, fair.
Will be Nick and then we will have fun.
And I love every single one of you out there, Nick.
Is we'll, we'll call Nick, Nick the non Dick because Nick is like the nicest guy in the world.
Nick the non Dick so so OK, so Manny Manny calls them and she asks and he asks this this dude, Tony, this dude, we we joked about this on your stream.
And again, if you haven't already and you're checking this out and tuning in for the first time, make sure if you haven't already, check out Teflon TV and check out all Tony's coverage on Pluribus and other shows right now.
But OK, but my Bach is there and put a pour two shots in the seltzer.
You don't know how many I like Two shots in the seltzer.
Drink, drink, bitch.
Come on, drink bitch.
Get me.
Go for it.
I can spill more alcohol.
On your floor.
Tonight thank you, Sir.
So Manny calls them and she asks and she but he's he's he is Mike Tony, he's he's he's Mike Lalo.
And like he's so crafty and he can sort of figure out and what he's doing and has and just has that montage ability.
I'm just saying like he has that ability to turn on the montage and have some shit happen and you can get the shit done.
You have nothing else to do.
Like listen, if you're in jail, you're going to work out because there's nothing else to do you boy.
But he has his mindset.
He's has his mindset and he has focus and he has time and you have time and, and, and focus.
You can do anything if you set your time.
So he's able to go through the plans and look what he doesn't understand the word, go through the dictionary, do everything he has to do and try to figure out.
This whole situation and that Carol had the ability to do that too, but she got sidetracked.
What was it?
Yep, and somebody oh, we got it.
Whoa, John Haymaker just becomes a renewed his membership and just gave us a dime bag of support.
Thank you so much and said we need a nick emoji.
I'll try to make one.
Tell Nick to excuse me to bring you an ice cold Gatorade and some mango ice cream.
I learned something new.
Lope Lopez says Lopez Lopez are me 1982 because I quit after episode 3.
Is it worth giving another try?
I will be honest and I don't.
And Tony can give his thoughts after me.
If you weren't feeling it after the first 3 episodes, I would.
Anything that happened throughout the season change someone's perspective that might not have been feeling this for the first 3 episodes?
I think the show stays pretty consistent through all nine episodes and the show you saw at the beginning is the show you saw now.
But I don't know, what do you think?
I think if someone didn't like the first, they're probably not going to.
Like the show right?
There's nothing that that has changed within the first 3 episodes why you stopped watching it after the first three.
If you stop watching because you just said it's boring, there's nothing that ramps up to the point where you just want to keep watching.
And so it's not that.
And so when you watch from, I tell people all the time, just watch the first episode.
If you watch first episode and you're in this show was not that.
It's a very slow burn, but you have to be into this this stylish show.
Yeah.
And it's like with something like The Wire, for instance, Tony, which I think you and I both equally think is is I know you think is the best and I and I'd say is one of the best, one of the best shows of all time.
I would say when I tell people to watch the Wire, I go, you got to watch the 1st.
It's spoiler alert, spoiler alert, spoiler alert, spoiler alert.
You have to watch the episode that something happens to Keema when when you see that episode.
Like not saying the episodes leading up to that aren't great, especially once you've watched the whole thing go back.
But if you're watching for the first time and you start the show and you've never watched it before?
Right on that Bunk and McNulty fuck shit but like conversations they're having out there.
Thank you.
As they're investigating the scene, I could definitely see how someone would be like, yeah, this show's just, you know, like, not quite grab you in the way that if once you see that, you watch all of that stuff, all that stuff, all that stuff.
And then you get to what happens in the Keema episode and you see Rawls turn into what Rawls really is in that next episode.
Like, those two episodes for me were the episodes that I'm like, Oh my God, this is the greatest show of all time.
Like, like, I'm not saying it wasn't before then.
It wasn't great.
I was like, oh, I'm feeling it, but you know what I'm saying?
Like some shows.
Yeah, they built to that, right?
So this show doesn't really build to that.
Like if this show was pretty much on par the whole.
It is what it is.
It is.
Yeah.
It's like the Bella show.
It is what it is.
Yeah, for sure.
And let's see, we got.
Lawanda, you're so right.
It is a slow burn, but we make it fun.
Thank you, Nick.
Nick that.
Then if someone's just tuning in, they would think you'd watch the show.
Lalo became my favorite Breaking Bad character.
I thought she meant this show.
Oh, you mean my show?
That's good.
That's good.
That's good.
I like that.
That's good.
OK.
So yeah, yes, he is Mike.
It's so true.
I think he's more Mike than Lalo, but Lalo had a little bit of that Mike and into and in Better Call Saul, I referred to him as the Mike.
Isn't Lalo from Better Call Saul?
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
You know Mike and you know Michael.
I know, Lalo.
Yeah, You know, Lalo and Mike, Nick is an interesting case and I've mentioned him before because of this, because we talk about people that might watch certain shows before other shows.
But I tried to get Nick, who watched Breaking Bad for years, and he tried it and it didn't.
He didn't hook onto it.
He didn't like it.
But everyone that met Nick kept calling him slipping Jimmy once Better Call Saul star.
They were like, oh dude, you're like a slipping.
Jimmy, I was totally or I am still.
Totally.
You're a little slipping.
Jimmy, the original Jimmy.
Yes.
However, yes.
I have to say.
But the heart.
Actually watched Better Call Saul twice before I watched Breaking.
Bad Yeah, exactly.
That's what I was going to say.
And he's he's the case.
People have always asked, are there people that have watched Better Call Saul and not watch Breaking Bad?
He eventually watched Breaking Bad, but like he watched it first.
We have, I know coconuts who's in the chat tonight, has never watched Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, but is watching Pluribus.
So there are people that maybe have seen Vince Gilligan shows, but not all of them also.
Is Pluribus to Vince Gilligan?
Show yes.
Oh shit, my world just got slipped upside down and they actually have to watch this show.
And then you guys, I know I'm just here right now.
You're going to have to deal with me a whole lot more.
That would be great to have you back next season.
They got her stem cells.
Oh good man, I love you Haymaker.
Haymaker, you're the shit.
So let's continue here because because again, I'm not sure how long we have.
I think.
I think if we didn't have Nick for fun, I.
Got about 10 minutes.
I got to get out.
OK, we got I will make sure at 11:40 I'm going to kick you off to him because I because I know.
By the way, Tony, we haven't seen each other in a very long time, but it's very nice to see you again.
Have you met Tony?
Before yes, we've met one time we've met one time.
I don't remember.
It might have been two years ago, three years ago.
But Tony, it's very nice to see you again.
I.
Don't remember, you went too man.
Good to see.
You.
Oh, was it?
Was it when I was in Marblehead?
Maybe like when I?
Was whatever anyways.
I think he was on an After Dark.
I think he was in the background on Never.
Forget a face.
So, Tony, it's nice to see you again.
Good to see you again too.
Brother, OK, we're wasting Tony's 10 minutes here.
Let's continue on to the episode.
I'm gonna.
Get a few more.
Let's go, Tony.
10 minutes.
Go.
OK, go.
So Carol is back and she's back to vodka and Golden Girls and I think, I think it only reminds me of how disappointed I am in both of us that we still haven't done a full Golden Girls live.
Yeah, me too.
I think about it a way every time and I don't even know what version she's got when she just got the instrumental.
Dude, what was that?
Did they not pay for it?
Like I was like, I was like I want that.
Is that on the DVDs?
Like is that the DVD menu shit going on there?
As as Carol looks outside and sees Osha's car there, she runs scared to see what's happening and she's fearing she's she runs into the house.
We already talked about this a little bit.
She runs in there having a sensible conversation on the couch and he's just, and this shows again how amazingly capable this dude is Tony and how he's the Mike Lalo and this is more Lalo.
He knows how to talk to you calmly to get your shit shit out of you that he wants to.
And he's and he's talking.
He's playing them.
He knows he's playing back to them, unlike Carol, who maintained and used them.
He's straight playing them, Tony.
And he's using them to his advantage and he sees them for what they are and there's nothing that they can say to him to change it.
And that's why he limited the conversation with him in legitimate limited speech.
He says what he wants.
He's very direct.
He gets that answer.
He's not engaging in conversation.
He's not saying how, how have a nice day, How's your day been?
This is what I want to know.
This is what I want to know.
This is what I want to know.
He's getting that and he's not saying anything else to him.
Carol's over here blowing bubbles, that bitch, you know what I mean?
Everything else that's that's different between them and stuff, you know, he, he knew that from the beginning.
He didn't talk to him.
You know that all the way from the beginning that, you know, she says like he won't talk to us, you know, because he knows what manipulation is and all we got to do is start talking to someone.
I'm going to get manipulated.
So he knows to stay away from that.
People ask where Nick Nick is on the phone.
I believe with Miss Crystal, you'll hear a lot more Nick in 5 minutes when in 7 minutes when I let Tony go, so we will.
So I hate typing my that's why I just, I hate saying his name.
That's why I just call him mono or Tony started calling him Manny.
Manny, I'm totally going to copy that.
So I've been copying that.
Anytime I say Manny, I'm just going to say it's a blatant copying.
Tony calling him that in his video.
I'm like, oh, that's such an easy way to do it.
Tony is smart sometimes really smart.
OK, so as Manny is left alone, he's asking for another one.
He's like, give me enough one of these fucking things as Carol heads into her house and gets upset and and is like, what, what'd you tell him?
It turns into like the biggest psycho partner ever.
And as Tony and I mentioned, I've been this person before and I told you, he said he's kind of been this person before.
Were you talking to him?
What you say to him?
Why are you why are you walking down the beach with Nick and Donnie?
Why were you doing that?
What's up, What's up, What's up, what's up, What's up?
Especially the tails like 143.
Nick, what the fuck's going on?
What are you talking to my girl for?
You know, like all that sort of shit.
Like I like what you.
Said yeah, we love him too.
You can't love love him like you love me.
You can't.
You can't.
It's.
Different.
We have something special, right, Tony?
No, you love.
Him we have.
Special.
Yeah, fuck that.
Is special.
When it in the moment for sure.
So Zoshi comes and says, don't worry, something's about to happen.
Don't be alarmed.
And she falls to the floor and, and she starts to have like, you know, the convulsion thing that happens with the, with the, the screaming.
And it's a basic, I know a girl who had seizures and she would be know when it was about to come on and she would get right on the floor.
She goes like I'm about to have a seizure and she would go right there and lay on the floor.
And then she would have her seizure and stuff.
But she could feel it coming on.
She knew that it was coming on and she prepared herself so she didn't fall and go right on the floor and do that.
And that's what that reminded me.
Darryl in the live chat saying Mono could have smashed his OSHA if he wanted to.
He could have.
If he asked in a second, he could have.
Yep.
Totally, you say?
Bend over, sweat your pussy, but he's digging in.
She's gonna take.
It will it make you happy?
Yes.
OK, Yeah.
Scream like you never screamed before.
Tell me how large I am.
You are better than Carol.
You are better than Carol.
Do you like how they talked around?
Speaking of pronouns, I don't think I mentioned this earlier, but something that we've all sort of hinted around with the if Zocha ever came out of this thing, which they actually like girls, they kind of, they played the them game.
Didn't you address that when they said that?
Do you have a significant other?
What was their name?
Did you like them?
Yes, I did them.
They they conveniently just just didn't even answer that question and they yadda yadda.
Not a woman and it was not going to be because if it was a woman able to just put her, it's not a woman and she didn't want to hear it.
But that's the bottom line in the end, Carol is is abusing this chick.
You don't know if she's gay or she's into or she would be in anything else like that.
And she was trying to hint around it, but she knows the truth that that's not.
She's no different than Vegas motto.
Whatever kumbaya guy, whatever she's no.
Different it's because she's acting like she cares about this chick and she might have fell in love with this chick, but there's people who fall in love with blow up doll right?
So it doesn't make make it right.
Exactly.
Make it right.
You can't abuse that blow up doll.
You don't know if that blow up doll really like.
Hey Tony, don't hate on my blow up Barbie doll.
You might find that that blow up doll doesn't.
Like, hey, that's my girlfriend.
Blow up Barbie, Tony, don't don't be mean to her.
So, so Carol, Carol's like you, you can't talk to him.
You can't love him.
He's a psycho.
And it's like, whatever.
And then she falls on the ground and starts freaking out and, and he he, she, she runs in there and she comes back.
She tells him to stop.
He doesn't stop.
She she comes back with a fucking double barrel shotgun.
I think it was double barrel shotgun and and shoots, shoots the fucking wall.
There's our gunshot of this episode and she's like, get away from her now.
And Zocia waits for Zocia to wake up, get some water.
And Zocia's like, I'm fine, thank you, thank you.
And just to kind of yadda yadda the rest of the episode before you go Tony, because we only got you 4 more minutes and I'll finish the recap point for point after you go.
So the rest of the episode happens where they go away for vacation.
Carol's like, let's get the hell out of Dodge City or Zoshi's like let's get out of Dodge City.
They go on a vacation, They have a vacation.
As we mentioned before, they talked about how Zoshi admits to her that she doesn't give a shit, basically that that I'm I'm only doing this because I want to turn you.
And then the episode cuts back that we're back with Mono and Carol shows up and she goes, it's the world, not the girl and shows up with an atom bomb.
And that's the end of our season.
So, so let's let's talk a little bit for a few minutes.
How did you think the episode ended?
You did it end in a surprising and satisfying way for you?
It was good.
It was alright.
I'll take it.
You know what I mean.
I I I I'll take it.
I I would have thought something else would have snapped her back to her senses.
But in the end of the just as what I was saying was she has to be snapped back to her senses at some point.
She has to this is what it's going to be.
Now.
I thought that it could be at the death of Zoja, the death of Manny, but snap her back.
But what snapped her back was the truth that this chick was telling her that you can't lie.
And and that's something that Harkins back to the show that they can't lie and they actually told the truth.
No, she doesn't love you.
No, she's not in love with you.
She's just placating you until they can find find something to get to turn you over.
And that's what it is.
And that's what snapped her back to reality And that's just what it is and everything else.
But in the end, again, it's still a greedy thing because she just doesn't want to get turned.
Now.
Not saying she didn't want to get turned, but she's only doing this because she doesn't want to get turned, not for the same motivations of Manny.
Manny's doing it for the world.
She's doing it for herself.
Exactly.
And everything that she's done so far she's done for herself.
And I think that's the thing, whether we saw whether she was with Helen or whether she was alone in this situation, we've seen her be nothing but selfish.
And even now when she's faced and that's what was so frustrating about the beginning part of this episode and the end of this episode, Tony, because you just she did not or she had negative growth.
Her character did go on an ark and Noah's got an ark, but her ark sank like Noah's ark, like she, she.
We learned how shitty and how selfish Carol is through the process of this episode and.
She's still shitty and she's still selfish and we'll see if she does grow in the next season that she's willing to do some type of sacrifice.
But we have not seen that so far.
It's just a one season thing.
But we it's the whole show is the full ark.
But we'll see.
She's got her hero call.
We'll see how far it goes.
You know what I mean, How far she's willing to go.
Now everybody, I want you in the live chat to send special thanks and thank you for Tony for joining us.
He literally has to get up at like fucking 5:30 in the morning tomorrow.
Yeah, so so he's he's amazing that he even joined us tonight.
If you haven't already, as I mentioned before, make sure you check out check out Teflon TV.
That's my second home.
I'm always over there usual suspects I'll be there covering night and Seven Kingdoms over here and over with Tony and we'll be doing from after that and we probably will be on this Sunday evening maybe or talking about doing doing a breakdown of the of the finale and I bet.
20 full season and then some what going forward something.
Awesome so make sure you subscribe to Teflon TV so you can check me out It's literally my second home like like Tony, this is Tony's second home.
That's my second home.
We're, you know, we're partners in crime in this motherfucker.
So everyone's.
Heart I give a kiss all.
Right, everybody, thank you.
Thank you all for having me.
Thank you for having me again for Nick.
Great seeing you again, brother.
Great seeing you again.
You have a good night.
Everybody else in the chat, peace stay sexy.
See it's see you on Sunday, Tony.
That's that's my good buddy Tony Teflon huge thanks for him like no joke, as I said, Tony had to get up has to get up at like 5 fucking 30 in the morning.
He did not have to join us tonight, but he wanted to make sure he got to say hi to all of you guys and he knew that I I wanted, I, I needed some help tonight.
So all right.
So let's have some fun now.
Wait, wait, let me.
Finish Can we mess with Phil?
Let me mess.
Let me finish the episode Nick.
And then we and then we can and then we can have some fun, have a little fun before we call this a season.
OK, so as we see the two of them head into the car, he warns us before what he did and mono is like, I don't don't worry about any of this stuff.
So she leaves and tells him sorry and she takes off as they get to the trunk and she says, she says, you were right, I'm on my way back.
Basically just always said they go to the pool, they go to the resort, they have their situation, they're partying, they're looking at these amazing landscapes, They're looking at the beach view.
It's just breathtaking.
They're having their double bubble baths and their drinks and their iced tea, skating on a Mountain High top with the resorts.
They have some good drinks.
Carol is pretty quiet, but she's thinking if unjoins.
She asks Zoya if she Zoya Zoja if she had a significant other and all that sort of stuff.
And Carol's like, no, sorry, I didn't.
And he's like, you know what makes you happy?
Because I'm happier than I've ever been.
And Cara's like, I'm so happy.
I don't want to go back.
And, and Zocia acts as like Google.
She's like, oh, do you want to know what, what makes you happy?
It's it's serotonin oxytison and all the stuff I've wore out of my brain when I took too much acid, Google and empathy and all this sort of shit.
And so this gets into the whole thing where they're trying to convert her into the hive and they go, you can only she goes, you can only convert me with my stem cells.
And you, you have to like stick jam a stick up my ass and you can't do that unless I ask you.
And Soya's like that would be correct.
And then she goes, is there any other way you can get my stem cells?
And Zoya goes Zoya.
So she goes no, and Carol's like, what the fuck?
Can you do it or can't you do it?
And I'm sorry, I'm having technical difficulties here with my, with my camera and, and Zocia is like, I think I, I think I can.
And, and they fight.
We connect that she can do it with the frozen embryo, with the embryos that they have or the, the eggs, I mean, and she can convert that.
It's just going to take a little patience and a little luck.
And she said that little girl was turned, and she can tell you how awesome it was.
It was really a great thing.
Everyone's so happy.
Yeah, right.
And she says, if you loved me, you wouldn't do this.
We love you, Carol.
And Carol's like, fuck this, I'm out.
So we cut to 74 days.
Two weeks later, and this is the end of the episode.
We see Mono writing, working out his thoughts.
And someone pull.
We hear the choppa and he gets us that he gets to the choppa and Carol and Zosha are there getting out of the Carol's, getting out of the chopper.
They give each other sad look and she has a big fucking thing that glands down a big package and she's like mono, I'm here, you're right, fuck it, you're right.
It's the world.
And then he goes, what's in the box?
And she goes an atom bomb and the episode ends with the atom bomb.
And that's our season of Pluribus.
Oh my God, what an amazing season.
Everybody, I thank you so much for joining me all season.
Oh, it is exciting.
Nick and everyone, you've just been awesome all season.
All of our podcast listeners, I cannot thank you enough.
I will be back in the offseason a few times here and there to be able to say hi to you throughout the season and talk about all of the anticipation we have for this next season.
I might do a single breakdown just of me later as well, without all the fun distractions of the evening.
Super fun distractions.
Super fun distractions.
So everyone, thank you so much on the podcast.
We appreciate you and oh wait, thank you everybody have a good.
Night, let's stay on.
Whoever wants to stay on, let's have some fun.
Exactly.
Let's mess with Phil.
Anybody who wants to stay on, let's have fun and mess with.
Phil, but you need to let me have a clean goodbye first.
Hey Maker, wait, let me have a clean goodbye 1st.
And everybody, thank you so much everyone.
Have a good night.
Hey everybody, fill the issues guy.
I am back.
What a fun episode.
It was great to have my friend in from California and huge thanks to Tony Teflon for joining us on a very, very late night and an early morning for him to discuss the season finale.
As I mentioned in this particular episode towards the end, I will absolutely be on during the offseason talking about any news that we get about Pluribus between now in the season premiere and also just maybe to check in occasionally.
So please stay subscribe to the podcast.
I appreciate it so much.
I also wanted to say that this is a shorter episode than we've been producing because at the end, right where you this podcast cut off, we were on for another hour and a half or maybe even close to two hours more.
No, what was it?
It was, yeah, it was like 2 hours more with Nick taking calls and having a little bit of a free form discussion.
So if you want to listen to more of that, I can let me know and I can release it as a bonus episode or you can check it out on the YouTube channel if you want.
I want to watch the video, it is located there.
The whole full 3 1/2 hours of silliness.
Anyways, everybody have a wonderful happy New year and I cannot wait to talk to you about this show when it comes back in 2027.
I mean, no, there's zero chance there's I would be.
There's nothing I would be more surprised about if somehow this show comes back in 2026.
Although I will be live plenty of times in 2026 talking about Pluribus and talking about the anticipation of what's going to happen with that atom bomb or anything else that happens throughout the seasons.
But I think at minimum, we're looking at early 2027.
Well, as I said before, I hope you all have a wonderful happy new year in a great holiday season if you celebrate them.
If you don't and you just curse everybody like Carol, you're like, screw you.
I want to get the atom bomb.
I hope that's enjoyable for you as well.
Talk to you guys next time.
Thanks.
