Talking PLURIBUS: Episode 4 Breakdown & Discussion
Episode Transcript
Welcome back everybody.
Welcome back to Talking Flurbus, Phil's recap and review for Season 1, Episode 4.
Please Carol, please Carol, please Carol, please, please Carol, please.
Oh my goodness, what a mind bleep this episode was.
Now this was getting to the good stuff, I think.
And we've got these first 3 episodes really, we're starting to put us in this world.
This episode really felt like, for me anyways, that things started to happen.
We learned a lot about these things or learned more about these things and learned a little bit more about Carol.
And we learned and we met a new character.
I mean, albeit very briefly towards the beginning of the episode, but we did meet a new character.
But I'm not alone.
I have with me the live chat.
We got Haymaker, we got Samuel, we got JW, we've got lots of our friends and we got our good buddy.
And then there, it's not rushing the process.
Yeah, there he is, Mark A Houston in the live chat.
But I also want to say a special thank you to all of you out there listening to the podcast talking Pluribus.
We appreciate all of your listens and all that stuff.
Thank you so much.
And make sure you get your voice in the show too.
If you're listening later, 781-990-8509, that number is live.
You can call in live when we're on the air, or you can call 24 hours a day, seven days a week or text it and leave your thoughts about Pluribus.
If there's any questions or comments that I don't address in the middle of the show.
Great to see Sonic, your boy in the live chat.
Joe Dirty Locks is not with me at the moment, but I assume he will be jumping in at some point.
And if you're watching this, please make sure you hit that like button and you subscribe and you share this out so as many people can get in here and listen to this nonsense as possible.
But let's get right into this episode.
First of all, Larry, Larry, you know, Larry was a great character.
Larry was Larry was my favorite of the of the of the join so far.
He he was he was freaking amazing.
But let's let's start at the end of the episode.
Here we go.
Hi, everybody, welcome.
We're the end.
Whoa.
I just got super blurry on the screen because the end of this episode got super blurry, super intense.
They she finally hit a a bump in the matrix, so to speak, and we see how these things react.
I don't know if you guys got the same vibe at the end.
At the end, it didn't seem like they were happy with her at all.
It didn't seem like they were agreeable.
It seemed like a lot of those people had looks on their faces that they were directed to look angry or disappointed or dark.
But maybe that's my own interpretation of it.
Considering what happened with Zoysia, I assume OSHA didn't die because they said we can save her.
Do you want us to save her but almost dying in a different way?
I mean every episode she's almost killing these things in different ways.
But I do think it's important that we got into the vibe of the cure thing.
I mean, both Joe and Tony were both talking about this earlier.
Tony Teflon.
If you haven't checked out Teflon TV, check out his theories videos on Pluribus, his breakdowns, and he also does a live streams as well.
And he was a guest on the talking Pluribus podcast on the special guest episode last week.
But they were both were talking about her asking for a cure and they didn't waste any time or they I mean, happened at the end of the episode.
They didn't waste any more episodes to get to that point.
We get right into that here.
We we get to the point where she is asking, give me a cure.
Is there a cure?
We can't answer that question.
Wait, wait, wait a minute.
All of a sudden you can't answer a question.
So since you can't answer a question and you always what do we know about these things?
OK, the eager to please me will give me a bomb.
Can't kill even a family.
Don't play favorites.
They all these jerks are the same trying to change me.
Weirdly honest.
Are they honest?
Question mark.
Question mark.
And that is the question.
Are they honest?
Yeah, sodium pentathol.
I believe it was if someone was asking what she was shooting herself with and and what she shot Zoho with later on.
I'm going to miss calling Zosia Zozia whatever the hell I was calling her before.
But I actually thanks for some help in the chat.
I know I know how to pronounce her name now.
Yeah, exactly.
Give me some damn Scooby snacks.
And I agree, Mark A Houston.
It is really amazing for me as well.
I'm enjoying every situation, pretty much every scene of this show I am all about.
I do want to say something that JWA JW Atari.
I'm like, why?
Why can't I just read What what happened to reading?
They were talking about it in the podcast.
The, the real podcast, not my stuff, the, the real one, the one that has Vince Gilligan on it.
As much as I want you to, you know, check out, check out me here, you know, please, if you can watch or listen to one person talk.
Don't listen to any of us yahoos on YouTube or in the podcasting world.
Listen to Vince Gilligan and talk about his own damn show.
But that was played by the real mayor of Albuquerque.
That's pretty cool.
But yeah, if you haven't and you're watching this right now, definitely share this out and make sure you like this so we can get out to as many folks as possible watching right now.
But I'm not going to rush that damn process.
Great episode, Gary.
This was my this was probably my favorite episode of the season.
This, this one and the first one.
I know we were only dealing with 4 episodes so far, but this was the one to me that felt I felt more of an energy with like it was it, it felt like the plot was starting, you know, like we're we're we're we're getting into her trying to make workable scenarios and movements within this world.
So but Larry was great.
Phil, would Carol make a good smoking buddy?
Maybe when she was on sodium pentathol.
She seemed pretty cool to hang out then.
You know, I don't know if I think Carol would probably be a fun person to hang out with.
I'm not far.
I know I'm not far off from from Carol, but not in this world.
Not in this world.
Maybe Carol is a I've said this before, maybe I I'm not.
I don't think so, but I was joking previously in another stream, in another show, another cast about Carol actually being infected, but she's infected in a different way.
Like she she has a power over them.
I love how she's like, I'm immune, immune.
Don't touch me, Don't touch me, diplomatic.
Immunity.
She's like, you can't touch me.
She is a fun drunk, fun drunk.
Wait, let's go.
She is She's fun.
She's fun to me.
I like I like Miss Carroll.
Oh, funny enough, she's doing Carol, not not racy on Carol as the character is doing an AMA on Reddit tomorrow.
So you have she's doing it in character.
I asked a question.
I asked her since she lives in the Albuquerque area, can she recommend a good lawyer?
So something it was something like that.
I just want to see if I can get her to say Better Call Saul.
Well, we'll, we'll see.
We'll see if it happens.
I'll, I'll check, we'll check back in next week or maybe I'll do another bonus episode this week.
We'll see.
Maybe maybe it's Carol, but Larry, Jeff Heller, was that that guy or I don't know that the actor's name.
People correct me in the chat or correct me in the comment section later.
He was a great infected.
He he was he was memorable.
He was really good at playing the yes, Carol, I'm happy.
I'm so happy for you.
We don't think we could.
He's probably the best, the most effective one of those for me so far.
Carol look like Carol looks like she would be a true competitor for the hippie Olympics.
I think Carol and I would have some competition, you know, me and me and her, me and her would be a good battle for for us whatever to have that whatever energy.
Let's say we need a Carol Kim emoji.
We definitely do.
And I will try to get one for next week, 100%.
I will do that for the for the channel members.
I will get a get a Ray Seahorn emoji, a Carol Kim, Carol Kim.
Wait, do I have a Kim sticker down here?
I'm going to see something.
Wait, wait.
Sorry everybody, This is awful radio.
Awful radio.
You can't hear me.
I have some Better Call Saul stickers here.
I don't know if I have any Kim stickers here, but what else?
She does ask about the cure and they give her an interesting response.
We can't answer that.
They don't.
They don't say no.
So she does.
And I mentioned this a second ago, but it is true.
She kind of calculates there.
She's like, OK, if you if you're telling me I can't, you can't give me a cure that answers my question.
Or if you can't answer that question, then that answers my question.
As we're done.
It seems like it's just Saul.
I don't have any Kim there.
I will.
I'll try to change the.
Let me, let me write a note for myself.
Change emojis for show.
There we go.
I got it.
I got it written down.
Someone sent them to me during the final season.
The Better Call Saul.
I'll, I'll try, I'll try to show them off later in the show.
But but somebody, I forget who sent them to me, but one of one of one of you amazing viewers sent me a care package during Better Call Saul.
And it wasn't there was nothing dead inside.
It was just a bunch of Better Call Saul stickers.
So anyways, so she does ask about the cure it.
She apologizes for hurting Zocia at one point in time earlier in the episode.
It's interesting the empathy even within her frustrating hate, the empathy that she's developing because they manipulated her in a in a, and I don't mean a good way as in like it's good that she got manipulated.
I mean manipulated her in a good way as they understood how to target her the right way.
And you kind of get into that a bit when she's took the sodium pentathol and she's the and she's in honesty mode and she's talking about oh God damn, that Zo show.
She's so annoying.
She's so annoying, annoying and fuckable.
What the hell?
What's wrong with her?
What's wrong with me?
God damn it.
Oh my shit, what's wrong with this situation?
I got to turn.
I got to turn off my focus.
Excuse me for one second.
So I thought that was really cool to show, show that scene.
I mean, some could say why did they have that moment where they were where they focused on her being being on the drugs to test it out?
I didn't necessarily know what was happening while I was watching it.
I thought it was hilarious that she needed to get the needles and she didn't want them to know why she was getting the needles.
So she just made-up that she was doing heroin.
It would have been fun if she said yeah, exactly.
I was hoping when she asked for drugs, I was thinking the same thing, Sonic, instead of just asking for some heroin, she's like, can I get some?
Can I shoot some meth?
Do you get any of that blue sky meth I hear about?
I've heard about throughout through all through Albuquerque.
But I thought that was really cool the way they did that whole scene, the way they set that up was sort of a sort of A twist around for me where I didn't necessarily understand what was happening.
I didn't get a great glimpse at what she was going through.
I just saw sodium.
And I was like, is that, is that that shit that you see in spy movies where like where they inject you and it's like the truth serum and shit?
And yes.
And yes, in fact, it was truth serum.
And I thought it was a fun way to do it because the way they said they set it up with getting to just have her have have kind of a comedic fun, fun fuck around scene.
And I thought that was done just hilariously.
And I, I think she played really messed up really well.
And there was she especially, there was one point where she's not even saying anything.
It was like a quick cut where she's just sort of staring at the camera with, with her shirt over her head.
She almost looked just like.
I'm Cornholio.
I need TV for my pomo.
She kind of looked like that.
Let's go back.
We got the wonderful Debbie.
Oh baby, Oh baby.
We got Debbie in the live chat.
I was planning to go back and get screenshots of things I couldn't see, like the list the prepper guy had.
I did not see the list the prepper guy had.
I do have the list that she made on the board, but I did miss miss the stuff that Paraguay guy, which which we've gone this far in the show and we've yet to talk about him, which he's the whole beginning part of the episode.
And we get to see the other half of the conversation from Carol's respect for or from his perspective in the conversation with Carol.
And I thought that was cool too.
I like when we see things like that on television shows and movies where we get to see double the perspective.
And seeing what he was doing at the time that he was, that they were cursing at each other and he was eating fucking dog food.
And that that's going to live in my horrible nightmares for the rest of eternity.
I mean, I've eaten dog food before.
I've eaten dog snacks, but on a dare.
But I would never ever, ever.
And maybe people could argue with me or or say this is the craziest thing of all of a of a lifetime of insane things I've said, but I would way, way more way rather eat kibble than wet dog food like Alpo wet dog food in a can.
I'm not saying I wouldn't if I was starving, you know, Of course, of course I would.
You know and.
It's not it's, I'm not going to be at all.
I need some grey Poupon for that.
But you know, but wet dog food is probably the most disgusting smell in the world to me at least.
It could be wet cat food.
That seems a little bit better.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm maybe I'm ridiculous.
What's up?
We got Debbie, What else we got?
We got the factor, the face that stares.
What if Carol got the Plurbs to print 7 billion copies of?
Well, she got the Pluribus people to to print 7 billion copies of Bitter.
Well, I'm going to mispronounce it, but her book using the machine that doesn't show the text to the operators and distributed them to all the Plurbs to read simultaneously.
That could be that book has gotten a few mentions.
Tonight's episode really made me think they're going to play with this in some interesting ways.
So I couldn't see them do something like that Where she does get them to print her book.
She seems to be feeding more into it and living into it.
But also, you know, now she knows factually there's a way out.
So she's going to try to figure this out in different ways, even if that's reaching a bunch of people through her book and through the situation.
I also thought, Speaking of her book, this is just one of those things as being somebody that creates things.
And yes, I'm yes, I'm single at the moment, but I've definitely been in relationships where you have a band or you have a podcast or you're in a play or you do something and you're and you say to your partner, hey, you know, well, how was I?
It was good, right?
And you know, they're going to tell you, Oh, you were awesome.
That was great.
That trumpet solo was like the best thing of the night.
It was awesome.
But you always wonder in the back of your mind, do they really just think you're, you're just OK or, or they think you suck.
And we find out that Helen thinks that she's a very, a very passable writer.
You know, she causes no harm.
You know, the carols of she's, she's not a harmful writer.
And her and her manuscript or her, her, her, her awesome book, Bitter Chalice, whatever it's called.
I'm mispronouncing the second word because I can't talk.
But her book was basically boring and she stopped reading at about 160 pages.
Well, it was like 160 pages of a 400 and of a 598 page book.
I've got that shit written down.
We'll get into that later when we get into the recap.
But and she just thought it was meh, you know, not good, not bad, just meh.
And that's definitely something that's that.
That's an interesting piece.
Just an interesting side piece.
Oh, cotton candy.
She ate it three times, nibs 3 times in her life and she really liked it.
It's like cotton candy, you know, sometimes, sometimes you want it.
And it got me thinking as well, how many times in my life have have I actually eaten cotton candy?
And I think it's under 20.
I don't think, I mean I don't think it's 5, but I do think I've only had cotton candy about 10 to 15 times if I really think about it.
Chrysalis Thank you, Debbie.
I am totally like Ron Burgundy.
I need people to spell it out for me.
But that also means I will read whatever you write, which is dangerous.
And I'm going to I'm going to mispronounce that 7852 more times, Debbie But now I at least have it somewhere in my Dome.
How to pronounce that thing?
Bitter.
Chrysalis OK.
I'll just eat.
I would love I I'll I would lick the top of that tuna cans too.
That would be delicious.
That's a dream situation in that in that encounter.
I think that's yummy in my tummy.
When she found that when she found out I was like, that's good.
Can't complain about that.
OK, so I'm Ron Burgundy.
It's because they don't they.
It's because it's Spanish speakers who don't know English often hear words that start with S as in ES.
So the Turkish guy at the beginning.
I wonder how long it's going to be until he finds Carol.
He did make a note.
Anyone that is better at screenshots or or paused at that point in time to look at it.
What did he write next to Carol's name?
Did he say Carol is maybe normal or something like that?
Like, I don't know what he wrote.
Oh, the old Creamer, Debbie, you can.
I would, I would drink those things on my own.
I love those things.
I used to when I, when I was a kid, up until longer than I wish to mention, when I would go out to dinner with my grandmother or go out to lunch with my grandmother, I would eat the fuck out of those things I loved.
I drink the fuck out of those things.
I wouldn't eat them.
I wouldn't eat the plastic.
I wouldn't chew them.
But in there was a four to six month period in my teenage years where where I was, I ran away, you know, left my house, I ran away from home and I was living in a playground and I was living off of those creamers and ketchup.
I'd go into I'd go into places and get those creamers and then I'd go into Wendy's and they had the pump with the Super Saddle bar.
And I would just like get these these, you know, those little paper, paper things to fill the ketchup.
And I just fill ketchup, ketchup and put them in my pocket and run out and then live on the ketchup for that was a delicious time.
Ketchup and creamers, baby.
So I, so I can relate to this situation and I because I ran out of spaghetti OS, I brought a bunch.
I brought like I was like, I can run away from home by bringing 9 cans of spaghetti OS.
I live there forever, no problem.
And yeah, one week later I'm hungry.
So yes, sugar packets, we eat the sugar packets as well.
And yes, as Nib nib says.
Was, as was mentioned a little bit earlier, that was actually the actual mayor of Albuquerque, which is kind of an interesting footnote of this situation.
So let's talk a little, I guess it, I guess it doesn't matter.
So I was going to say we're going to we'll talk about Paraguay guy, but Paraguay got Paraguay guy is the beginning of the episode.
So I might as well wait until we start our, you know, recap situation here.
But so the things that Carol wrote down, we talked about this before and I want to see if we agree with all of these things that she figured out.
She's she grabs the white board and she's and she writes down the things I know about these things or the things we know about these things.
They're eager to please.
They will give me a bomb.
We have seen that they're very eager to please.
For sure They will.
They I guess yes.
They said they would give her a bomb.
I don't know if they would.
They definitely.
They brought her heroin, so I guess they'll bring her anything she wants and they'll give her the big bomb if she wants the big bomb.
They can't even kill a family.
Do we know that's true?
Do they not like to kill or can't they kill?
That's the question when they get to a point, OK, they said that they're veggies.
They said that they let the animals go.
They don't like to kill anything.
But I I'm pretty sure the what the way Zocia verbalized it, I'd have to go back and watch, but I think she verbalized it in the way to say we don't like to kill, not that we can't kill.
So I'm just going to put a Jostros and Asteris next to that one to say maybe we don't know yet.
They obviously, they obviously don't care if people die.
Well, I mean, maybe they care, but they they won't necessarily interfere with people dying.
But they like even with Zocia, even with one of their own, they had to get Carol's permission to be like, hey, is it OK for me to save save this one?
So I don't know.
It is difficult to think.
Could they kill?
Can they elect not to save?
If in that moment Carol fell down with a heart attack, after Zocia fell down with cardiac arrest, something happened to Carol, Would they rush to save Carol?
Or would they say, sorry, Carol, Sorry for the blood?
Carol, do you want us to help you?
Can we help you?
If they have a parasite in their body, would they kill them?
Exactly.
That's another good question.
Haymaker.
Now would how far does this go?
And it's also interesting that they won't directly lie.
Oh, we'll get to that in a second.
They do.
This is the one I didn't get quite.
I couldn't quite read it.
My pause wasn't I wasn't wearing my glasses and I'm on and I'm an.
Old man, I'm an old.
Man, I couldn't couldn't quite see.
Don't play favourites like all jerks the same.
So does that mean they like all of the 12 of them the same?
That there's no favorites that as much as it might feel like, hey Carol, we're here for you, that she's calculated or trying to assess that they don't really care much about.
I mean, they don't have they don't have a hierarchy of them.
Carol's not especially more important than the dude on Air Force One with the 25 prostitutes.
It's with the harem or something like that.
Not the prostitutes.
Whatever.
Carol almost killed Zocia 4 times already.
That's what makes me think she's not going to die.
It's just going to be an ongoing joke where she where she's where she's almost dies in every single episode.
But yeah, does that, is that what that means?
Like don't play favorites, They're all jerks the same.
Does it mean that they don't play favorites with us or all of these jerks are the same?
Zocia might seem like my favorite, but all of these jerks are the same.
I guess it probably means the second thing.
Sugar packets would be delicious That that would be, that would be a luxury, finding that damn sugar packet.
I'm thinking of The Sopranos episode.
We got another text from Pluribus.
I like how they're doing this through the season as well.
This text came at 1This text came at 1:33 PM today.
Again, Again, sorry about the grenade, Carol.
We do tend to be a little bit literal, but we love your sense of humor.
It's so bracing, bracing, bracing.
Don't you mean abrasive?
It's not bracing.
What is bracing?
I don't even know what bracing means.
Like bracing for like.
Like bracing.
I don't know what the hell that means.
Awesome.
Sonic your boy.
I'm so happy you're getting leave work and we'll see you in a moment.
OK, so ultimately it kind of means the second thing that I was saying, that all the infectors are the same, same people.
That even if she's starting to feel like Zocia is fuckable and they did a good job picking someone that she would be attracted to and she would have an affinity for.
Because it's kind of an interpretation of a character in her book, Which I can't wait to get to that in a moment where we talk, talk, actually break into this episode and talk about how they're talking about the talking about her book series and her sort of being like, do you like my book series?
But I do think it's fun that she made reference and we see that she is melting in a way for this character.
And when she was sitting there watching and watching herself say all these truths, she's like, Yep.
She.
Kind of is very much they said they can't purposely end a life.
OK, that goes they can't kill.
I'm going to underline that shit because I think I'm not saying that they can actively choose to murder yet, yet I'll ask the question and and I'll ask you guys in the chat.
Did do you think they all seemed a little pissed at her at the end or am I projecting the way?
They were looking at her with the cow.
Please, Carol, please, Carol that they, they were having a schizoid embolism.
There was some shit going on there, there, Quaid, Quaid, don't go back to recall.
Like there, there was some schizoid embolism shit going on and they, they broke a gasket.
I don't know if I can come up with any more, but I could if I really wanted to.
But I don't want to because I'm already being excessive with this shed.
But they were getting over and over into it and they seemed like they wanted, if they could have hurt her, they wouldn't have.
At least that's the interpretation I got from them in that moment.
If I could hurt you, Carol, I would hurt you, Carol.
Carol is invoking the rate.
That's exactly what I'm thinking.
Bill, Chill.
I'm thinking she's pushing their last fucking nerve.
And maybe they can't kill yet, but if Carol keeps going like this, they may reassess their situation.
Is it a biological imperative that they cannot kill?
Is Carol right to be like, I'm safe, can't touch me.
Ghouls, Ghouls.
But yeah, they were crying.
They were crying out to her.
Please, Carol, please, please, please, please.
They were getting serious and it seemed like there was an intensity within them to want to to want to get to her, to stop her in some way, shape or form.
I don't know.
Maybe that was, again, maybe that was my interpretation of the situation.
They can't kill her, but if she got hurt, they cannot help.
Exactly, Gary, I mentioned this a little bit last week and I'll back it up again.
Is it the Batman thing?
Is it the the rage Raisha Ghoul shit at the end of Batman Begins?
Spoiler for Batman Begins if you haven't seen it by now.
So at the end, the whole movie is about, not about, but what factor you know about.
I'm Batman, I don't kill.
Yeah, we we get it, you don't kill.
OK, I'm not going to kill we.
Get it?
Your voice wasn't that bad in that movie though.
And then at the end he's like.
Oh.
Bruce, you're going to say I no, I fucked it up already.
I don't have to.
I'm not going to kill you, but I don't have to save you.
So do these things have that kind of vibe, like they don't have to save her?
I think they I think they could let her die too.
Jon Haymaker I definitely think they could let her die.
Larry.
I can't get enough of Larry because Larry was just, he was giving it his all.
And I like how they're evolving the joke, at least for me, this episode didn't seem static within the same stuff that we've seen.
There's a couple of moments of repeating Carol this Carol that I like when they ask her certain questions.
Carol, have you ever seen?
Oh, no, you haven't seen that.
You know, I know that from your childhood.
We got the wonderful Pixie Vine Realms in the live chat.
Great to see Pixie.
Thank you so much for checking out this live stream.
Bill Chill, Gary Haymaker, Pixie, Danny from LA.
Why is episode 4 it's available now if it says Friday 21st?
Couple people have been asking about that.
The episodes are out on Thursdays at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
Which time zone?
People that are smarter than me and I guess I could ask my AI over there.
I don't want to say her name because she might start talking.
I believe it is technically Friday somewhere.
So they release it at is it UTC time zone or don't quote me on the on what I'm saying right now because I'm talk.
I'm pulling it from my ass and throwing it at the screen right now.
But I think it's because it's technically tomorrow somewhere else.
So they're not going by usual streaming services that usually either release it at midnight or
33:00 AM in, in East Coast time.
So exactly it's 6:00 PM for me.
It airs Thursday at 6It airs Thursday at 6:00 PM.
Oh yeah, it's Thursday at 6:00 PM for West Coast people too.
Yeah.
So, so for so it's very early.
So it's, it does advertise Friday.
So it was saying that to me earlier today.
They were like, it's hurting my brain.
Why is it say Friday when it comes out on Thursday?
And I don't want people to get, I don't want people to get to Apple about this.
Like, let's not say anything.
They might figure it out and not release it early.
What feels early to me is right on time for somebody else.
So it's midnight tomorrow, Friday somewhere.
Yeah, exactly.
And all their shows have JW Atari.
As JW Atari says all their shows are dropping at the same time every week.
So or not every week app show up
at 9at 9:00 PM the week the the day before.
So we won't we won't ask why we're lucky sons of bitches to get to watch this the night night before.
And I know we might even get more people watching live if I did this on a Friday when more people have a chance to watch.
But then it's who knows when everyone's watching.
So the only time we can go, I felt like to go live would be right after the soonest that the episode drops.
So that's why we're we end up doing these on Thursday evenings
at 10at 10:30 PM.
Unfill the issues guy here on YouTube.
If you're listening to the podcast later and you want to jump in the live discussion, you can check us out every week through the rest of the season.
And that's not we're not fucking around because there's there's two holidays mixed in there.
Next week is going to be Thanksgiving night.
And then we have which, which if I'm passed out, maybe we'll do it on Friday, but no, we'll probably do it Thanksgiving night.
And then the the season finale will be Christmas Day night.
So here we go.
It's going to be fun.
It's going to be fun season.
We get all the HP shows at 6:00 PM on the West side too.
Fucking awesome.
Fucking rip offs.
No.
No, I love it.
I love it.
So let's not waste any more time.
It's because I, I want to, I want to talk about this episode.
I want to get into this here.
So let's not waste any more time.
It's about time to get into that.
All right, before we get into the recap, we got to talk about the podcast feed for a second.
Look, we're an explicit show.
We curse, we argue, we're partying your headphones.
We got Joe and we know that's not for everybody, and that's totally fucking fine.
Now, that means you're probably into this kind of breakdown.
You're our people, as scary as that is, and we need you to do one small thing for us.
That's kind of a huge deal.
If you're an Apple podcast right now or anywhere that allows reviews, can you take 30 seconds, Scroll down, find that five star rating and hit submit and leave a little review if you want as well?
Seriously, those five star ratings are the only way people who could possibly like our explicit wild ass discussion are going to ever find us.
So if you like the.
Silliness that we.
Do please leave us a review.
It helps fuel the fun and helps our people find us.
Now let's get back to Pluribus.
So our episode.
Opens up.
We open up with a blur of light, a Ding.
We see some eyes and we see someone checking some signals at the with the CB radio.
A ticking clock.
The Paraguay guy is taking some notes.
Something is ticking.
Which kind of reminded me of some There's some Lalo action here going on and he keeps trying to get something on the radio, setting a timer.
He's getting a note.
He's just basically trying to check signals.
Is that a ham radio or CB radio?
Not sure.
I'm not smart enough to know these things.
And he keeps looking and then we also get another, I think we got a Better Call Saul and a Breaking Bad reference passively.
In this scene where we get the fly, the flag comes in the room and I don't know about anybody else, but I was thinking about Breaking Bad.
He looks in the garbage and he finds an old can of tuna and he licks.
There he goes for second, second helping with that lick, get another Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.
Lots of Ding and going on and Speaking of that was a.
Weird transition.
But we got the amazing Monty Sunshine in the live chat.
Great to see you in the live chat.
We got so many good friends.
Thank you for joining me for this crazy episode.
This was a lot of fun, this show.
I was sort of in a zone all day today.
And then the episode started and I got locked right the FN.
Like, there's nothing like a Vince Gilligan show that just grabs me and pulls me in.
Is that this character?
'S name mono.
So.
So he's.
Licking he's he's going on that can he's he's riding that tongue up and down that can of tuna.
Oh yeah, he's going in for a second helping.
Lick it, baby, lick it.
I.
Love.
Was I just going to say I?
Love licking cans?
Of tuna.
But that's not what I'm talking about right now.
But.
So he looks.
Around we noticed his chaperone outside dropping some food, picking up the food that rotted there.
The last time she left it, they left it.
I wasn't sure who it was.
Look leaves him more food and gives a little happy beep beep.
See you later.
And this dude's not fucking around.
He heads out, he looks, he's got his place all chained up and they brought him some food and he looks, he thinks about it for a second, then he dumps that shit out and gives him a fuck you.
And he makes a list of things to do.
I didn't get a chance to look at those list, but he looks at the list of things to do and he searches and he's staying in the storage space, which I got to say is a very smart place to go.
It's a strategic location to pick to go to find a place to hide out in a storage facility.
The only thing I'm thinking and I'm I'm hearing Joe's voice in my head when he already had gone through this place already and and already checked it out.
Yeah, maybe.
But maybe we're in here.
This is early on.
This is still few days into this thing.
So he dumps that food, gives a fuck you.
He searches the facility and we get a classic Vince Gilligan montage of lots of cool stuff happening and he finds, I believe, a piece of candy, some yogurt, a couple of cans of something that didn't know what it was at first, but it ends up being dog food.
And I go Oh.
Then I go dot dot.
Dot O dog food sugar packet.
He should have dumped the sugar packet in the dog food.
That would have made it maybe made it taste better.
Maybe mix some of those creamers in too.
Like just mix that all, mix it all up.
Maybe you turn into something you get a Nickelodeon that would dump in your head if you say I don't know.
I grew up in an environment that.
Every time I say the words I don't know I have.
To look above me.
That's what I want to get.
This is technical people that happen to be watching this, and I'm talking to you, Taka John Riley, if you ever watch this shit.
Can we create something?
Is it possible to create something that every time I say I don't know, some graphic drops down and covers me in fictitious green slime?
Can.
We do this.
Is this possible?
Miles.
I don't know, Finn.
I'm giving it all she's got.
I'll.
Try it, Mr.
O'Brien.
Jesus.
God.
I'm loving this show, my first Vince.
Gilligan show awesome see that's one of those things that is interesting and cool to me about this show and it was the same thing with Better Call Saul.
It's happened with Frazier to cheers.
It happens sometimes with bands like you know there's people that got into The Beatles through wings.
I love when artists create multiple things that start to connect with people and there's so many people that will be checking this out some of Vince's X-Files fans some people that Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad just weren't for for whatever reason or they just never got a chance to check them out but might like the idea of this series be into sci-fi stuff just be in the right mindset have apple plus and just being checking out the new shows because apple plus is a good track record of high quality shows over the last couple of years.
So either way, it it's bringing up a whole bunch of new people.
That person I was talking to earlier about this show also, I believe this is her first Vince Gilligan experience as well.
And I know I was talking to somebody else that was a huge X-Files fan, but was never never into Better Call Saul or Breaking Bad.
And they're excited to be back with this kind of show from Vince.
So I think that's part of the fun of this.
It's getting so many more people getting that cross pollination a little bit because.
Because obviously Ray was in Better Call Saul, which connects it all together.
And I think it is some fun opportunities.
That being said, as I mentioned, I I think that fly was definitely a good reference.
That was a cameo.
Our first Breaking Bad cameo is the fly from Breaking Bad makes an appearance here in in Pluribus Watch.
You're going to see somebody in a YouTube video make a video special special YouTube video.
We found the the.
Fly A.
Cameo A special cameo from Breaking Bad in tonight's episode In tonight's episode of of In tonight's episode of Pluribus, we have a special Breaking Bad cameo from the fly from the episode Fly Nerd.
Crew out dude.
Sorry.
OK, so the phone starts ringing, it starts and stops again.
You get some of those creamers and I don't care what the hell you guys say, those creamers are fucking delicious.
I would there's I know some people like putting whipped cream in their.
Hot.
Cocoa, but I love dumping those things in the hot cocoa that's fucking tastes delicious man OK great that I haven't had them in 20 fucking years when I was a kid I liked them.
The phone starts ringing and it stops and starts and it's Carol.
We get the conversation from his side.
Carol gets cursed out.
He goes and gets the dog food.
He finally cracks the dog food open and he's like it's going to be Yum Yum in my alpo tum and he takes it and he your ass out and and she calls.
Back and curses.
His ass out and then the music changes.
We get a little like like.
Positive music.
For the first time, we get all this like dark, sort of foreboding music vibe to what's going on here.
I feel like I have to, I like want to play, play musical examples here.
But no, we get, we get these, we get this very happy sort of refrain come.
Out of it all.
To sort of symbolize that something good is happening there and and him sort of.
Realizing.
That he has another person in this world that might be on the same level that he is.
And I thought that was.
Very much dictated.
Through the music, I mean, obviously it was obviously it was obvious and it's obvious that these two characters by the end of the season, if not that will be the cliffhanger of the season, will be the two of them coming together or not the Cliff with the finals episode of the season, It probably won't happen till the towards the end of the season.
This is this show's going to take its time and especially if we think about the reality, it's not there's no little finger transporter devices.
I mean, yeah, he could.
This guy's not going to let them fly him there.
So he's going to have to travel.
He's going to travel, want to travel himself, and that's going to take some time.
So.
So yeah.
So I do think they are going to meet at some point in time.
Please, Carol.
Please.
Please, please, Carol.
Please, please, Carol, we've got a text.
Phil, I am loving this show.
It's good to see you talking about another Vince Gilligan show I remember from Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad.
Thank you area.
Code what area code?
Area code 250 Thank you.
Area code 250 I.
Appreciate it.
OK.
So the music changes.
It's happy.
Carol's a little happy, and not Carol's not Carol's not happy, but he's happy about witnessing that Carol exists.
Then he writes a little note.
Someone tell me in the comment section later.
What he wrote on the note about Carol I do want.
To.
The.
Music I do want to .1.
Thing out.
Speaking of music, I like all the music on the show.
I love the cinematography, I like the acting, I like the writing, I like the plot, I like the idea.
I'm enjoying everything about the series.
The one thing I don't like is the theme song or whatever it is.
I don't mind the intro.
Like the visual intro's pretty cool.
But I think on purpose, the music or the audio that they chose for the intro song is off putting.
Or it's off putting to my ears.
And maybe I'm, you know, old man sitting in a walk in the snow or there's another theme song.
I care, but it doesn't do it for me.
Where is the Better Call Saul theme?
Every single time that played burger, I listen to that shit every single episode.
I didn't skip that once.
I'd never skip it.
Even on re watches.
I don't skip that shit.
I listen to that this.
I can't skip that quick enough.
I'm like, Oh my God, this is like an assault on my ears.
So, so if, if, if I just to say I'm not if, if I had to point out one thing I'm not all in on, it's the damn theme song or whatever, if that's the theme song.
But I did.
I did love the music tonight in tonight's episode.
I feel like it was actively noticeable, the good music in tonight's episode.
It carried the plot, told the story within itself.
So let's get, let's break this shit down.
Seven days, 8 hours, 42 minutes.
And we're not going to worry about the goddamn seconds right now, OK?
I can't, I can't.
I can't write down the seconds because they're ticking while we're watching, we see this guy.
And Kara walking.
Through town, covered in blood.
Let's go into the live chat for a second here.
Last week her lack of manners really bothered me.
This week I loved watching how her brain works, how she's trying to unravel the mystery.
Her attempt to manipulate it was worth a shot.
100% it's her.
It's like she learned the rules of the game in these first 3 episodes.
But really what happened is we needed to learn the rules of the game in this in those first 3 episodes.
I think those episodes really purposely did not start to develop expert mode in this world because it wanted to build some building ground of what the basics are here.
And I think in this episode we started to see more of Carol's cleverness and her way that she's going to battle against this.
And I thought that was extremely evident in tonight's episode.
And I thought she became not that she I was always feeling, but I.
Feel like she's.
Becoming even more a character.
I'm rooting for after.
In tonight's episode, like seeing her tonight humanized her.
I think that's what I'm trying to say more.
So where is these first 3 episodes?
I think she came off at times.
She had a lot of multi layered performances if you looked for it, but within it, her sort of overall attitude about it was bordering on dark comedy character and not quite as focused on some of the vibes that I saw through her tonight, where she seemed more of like a three-dimensional human human character tonight, at least to.
Me, I think the music.
Will grow on you the more.
You hear it.
I hope so.
I'll give it occasionally.
Every week I'll give it a try.
It's not.
I.
Wouldn't mind a song sounding like that.
There's something about the rhythm of it that's odd to me.
But again, I think that's the point, right?
The point of this whole thing at times is to make me feel as uncomfortable as possible.
I loved seeing.
Her super.
Huge smile when she got a clue.
Me too.
I like seeing more of her personality, more of all the dynamics of who she is, understanding more of her relationship with, with Helen and some of their inter communicational dynamics.
We got into that kind of stuff tonight, which was really kind of cool.
And all of those different dynamics of of her, the way she looks at her career, the way I know they've made reference to that stuff before, but I feel like tonight we got even more into that as well.
I'm just starting to understand her more as a person and I.
Think even the sodium.
Pentathol scene, the the truth, the truth serum scene, you learn more about her, just seeing her be raw like that and her energy towards Zocia and seeing how she did care about her and that connecting to the beginning of the episode when she shows up and starts apologizing.
She's a very empathetic, sensitive kind of person, and we're seeing more of that in this episode and I like it.
Gary says I like the theme music now.
OK, so maybe it will grow on me.
We'll we'll, we'll see.
But I'm saying if there's one thing, one thing I'm not sold on yet, it's the theme song.
You got that, Miles I.
Like I do love the.
Animation I really like visually I I just hit mute and I hum something else.
Sorry I'm a Dick, but I do.
It's yeah.
It.
Is creepy.
It's super creepy.
It's for sure creepy.
Ever have a song you didn't like at first that grown you?
Yes, absolutely.
I've had whole bands that in different songs and different elements that I've enjoyed.
I'm I'm like looking.
Around to plug in some.
Music.
I can't, I can't play music.
Damn, YouTube rules.
But yes, there were songs that sound odd to your ears at first but eventually sound good to certain singers that are like that as well.
I hope my voice is like that.
It's not conventionally good and if you hear it enough maybe it sounds OK.
But no, some voices don't sound good at first, but the more you hear them they sound good to you because you can start to feel the energy or feel the realness of it.
It is.
It's a.
Totally strange.
Phenomenon Pixies with me.
I don't like the intro.
I skip it.
That's where I'm at right now.
I don't know if it's because I'm trying to get to the episode as quickly as possible, but no, no, I just don't like it.
I'm kidding, we got a.
Text here that says Phil, come on, watch the intro.
OK, I'll give it a shot.
Next week again.
OK, we'll give it a shot next week, that's what.
I'm humming when I watch it.
Gary, I'm humming the Better Call Saul theme.
I didn't like anything.
He's just a friend.
But it grew on me.
Different songs grew on me.
I didn't like Bob Dylan's voice the first time I heard it, and I love it now.
Yeah.
Hey.
I love.
It love it, it's fucking.
Beautiful.
It's beautiful.
OK, so we see this guy Carol, walking through town covered in blood.
She gets in the car and we hear, Speaking of weird fucked up music, We hear really weird.
Like the car dies and we hear Genie in the bottle Genie and it's it's a weird, weird off time.
I was just going to say dysentery, but not dysentery.
Just an off tone.
Off tone, sort of sort of version of it.
It's weird.
Or just with the music melting.
It sounded really like a broken CD or something.
The car stops, but there's a cop car.
It has a radio.
So they're talking to her.
And this is where we get into our traditional jokes of the do you remember?
Isn't this like Adam 12?
Remember that?
Of course you remember that.
You love that show, Carol?
No, no, no, no, no.
Do you want your Range Rover back, Carol?
Will you talk to us, Carol?
And then eventually she's just like, fuck it, I'll talk to you over.
Over, over, over.
This is Carol.
Can you go fuck yourself?
Thank you.
Over.
Oh baby, I got what you need.
We got the wonderful JSM down in the live chat.
I'm doing wonderful my buddy.
Great to see you in the live chat.
I know you probably haven't watched the show, but I do appreciate whether you watch or not jumping in the live chat.
Make sure you hit that like button, hit the subscribe button, share the crap with somebody else.
If you're listening to the audio cast as well.
Thank you and think about come and join Bring us live on
Thursday evenings at 10Thursday evenings at 10:30 PM.
But even if not, we appreciate all the downloads and streams you guys have been giving us.
It means everything.
OK, let's continue here Oh baby, you got what I need.
OK, I'm sorry.
I'll.
Stop.
So she gets to her house.
So yeah, I don't want to talk back and forth on my Range Rover.
This cop car.
'S fun.
She gets to her house and they're all cleaning up her house.
Like there's, there's like a whole bunch of them hanging out there like cleaning up the scene.
She asked and they were like, you told us it was OK in the ambulance.
Remember when you were half passed out losing your mind 'cause you just got blown up in a grenade?
We said you can, we could clean your house.
And you half nodded at us in agreement.
So we took that as approval and here we are.
We're doing it.
It's on.
It's on Apple.
Plus, which I know is not a service that everybody has.
So they asked her in the ambulance and they said OK.
We also see the mayor sweeping, which we've said a couple people have shared this in the live chat.
It got talked about on the actual podcast for this shows.
If you're watching anything or listening to anything, make sure you listen to Vince Gillian talk about his own damn show instead of me.
Watching instead of me.
Talking about it, but.
I appreciate you watching me as well.
The mayor's sweeping is the actual mayor of Albuquerque, and she checks her whiteboard.
OK.
This is where you guys can.
Help me in the live.
Chat or in the watching the podcast later leave a comment about this when she's checking the whiteboard the first time.
I didn't get a good look at what she's looking at.
Like before she writes all the things she knows about them.
Was she was that a sketch for her?
Her book?
Her non why why Cario book.
I'm not.
Either way, it seemed like a sketch.
For a book of some kind.
Not everyone does, Jay, no.
You're not alone.
But this show I bet, will be available in some other places eventually too.
So, and I'm not telling you to go surfing on the pirate waves if you're if you're curious.
But you can't go surfing on the pirate waves if you're curious.
Exactly.
That's what I'm.
Saying or do it in a week that that's what I'm saying, Gary, that's, that's my style of these things.
If I wasn't covering shows, I'll get the app on the free trial and then I'll binge watch the show in the trial and then I'll cancel the app.
OK, that's her.
That's her other.
Book right, Monty, that's her her important book, the one that Helen only read a only read a.
Only.
Read a.
190 pages.
Of it or whatever.
OK, so she checks the board.
She doesn't erase it.
She thinks about erasing it, but she chooses not to erase it, which I think shows us something about Carol.
That's kind of my point, whatever that was.
But there was a movie treatment, whether it was her the next Y Cario book or whether it was her other book.
The fact.
That she didn't erase.
That means Carol is an optimist.
Just follow me for.
A second here if she.
She was thinking about erasing and she's like fuck it, the world's destroyed.
But instead she decided no, I want to keep it and I'm going to keep this because I believe.
Sorry, I'm annoying because I believe.
That the world.
Can come back.
She actually believes the world can come back.
I think she does.
I truly think she does.
I think she's an AI.
Think she's a secret optimist.
Fuck you, Carol, you're not as miserable as I am after all.
I have a smile on my face, but I'm really miserable.
She has a frown on her face when she's a fucking optimist.
Oh, it is her pirate book either way.
Whether it's her next pirate book in her book series that she's sketching out a movie deal for her pirate book or her actual books or her her important book, whatever it was, it was something that she's working on creatively in her book series that she decides, you know what?
I'm not going to say the I'm not going to delete this because the world might come back and they're going to want my book.
There's some an egotistical optimism there that I appreciate that you need as a performer, you need as an artist.
And Carol has it a survival, a performance, performance, survival instinct.
And I'm glad that they had that.
That's subtle, but I'm glad that they put that there.
And I know I'm dwelling on an interesting place of her not erasing the whiteboard, but I think it shows us a lot about who she really is deep inside.
Same with her crying about Helen later when she's on the drug on the truth serum stuff and getting extra emotional and she's watching, you know, the book may be the key to destroying and hijacking the hive mind.
It's certainly possible.
Samuel, I was thinking about that as well, too.
There is a cure.
We know that.
I said that at the beginning.
We know it now.
You're going to see a million and a half YouTube videos with people saying there's a cure, with an arrow's pointing at a cure.
There's a cure.
There's a fucking cure.
We know there is now, OK, I don't think this show's going to have a lot of mysteries.
I think they're going to tell you shit.
I do think there's mysteries.
But I.
Think a lot of the stuff they're just going to show you.
I got there's a cure.
Yep, there's a cure.
There's no mystery.
It's somewhere it exists.
It's something that can solve this, and Carol will have.
To do it, we, we.
Now have our mission.
Carol needs to find the cure.
It exists somewhere.
We can fix the Great Link.
Odo can return home and we'll all be happy.
It could be the key to.
Joining Joining's undoing in my best Ursula the Sea witch voice.
Oh, morning, making me sweat.
OK, so so she doesn't erase the whiteboard and but she pulls out her new whiteboard and she's writes down, as we've talked about a few times tonight, what she knows about these things #1 they're eager to please.
They will give her a damn bomb.
Number 2.
They can't kill even a family.
I call a little bullshit on that.
I want to lick some doughnuts, Gary.
I don't.
This whole conversation is making me think about licking doughnuts.
I don't know why.
And tuna fish cans not.
Just like we've got 2 iconic licking moments already in this series, licking the doughnuts and licking the top of a tuna fish can.
Don't play favorites, they're all the same kind of jerk.
Their next one and I forgot I skipped this earlier trying to change me.
This is key.
We mentioned this last week with Joe, and I think I talked about this a bit with Tony as well.
They're trying to change her.
She they are her enemy.
So I'm glad that she actively was engaging in the attempts to figure out a cure to this situation or solving the situation because they're doing the same thing.
So I'm glad that she wasn't being static in her interactions and she actually like picked it up.
What time is it?
I'm starting to think Joe probably won't be joining us tonight, this week, which some people are probably like, yeah, thank goodness.
No, but hopefully he'll be back next week.
But next week, the holidays.
So hopefully Joe will be back in a couple of weeks or he hasn't jumped ship already.
But we'll we'll, we'll, we'll see.
Maybe he'll surprise us at the end here.
But we'll, we'll see.
We'll see what happens with Joe.
But but thank you for tuning in to me tonight.
I guess you're stuck with me on a Babel fest.
I was just going to say 97.
For some reason every time I say the words babelfest I say 97.
Here's a.
Ladies and gentlemen, here's.
A babelfest 97 from KISS went away one O 7.9 WCLX turn and cough.
What's going on up there?
I bet cold sore.
Rates.
Went up after that spit swapping.
I think you're right.
Next week's licking and uncut pizza.
Very rude.
Very.
Fucking rude.
OK, so we're trying to change.
Weird way makes the list heads.
Outside at So she heads outside after making this list because she wants she writes weirdly honest, but she puts a couple question marks next way because she's not quite sure.
Are they really honest or are they not honest?
So she goes outside and she's going to test it.
She's like I need a volunteer of one of you mother fuckers and.
Is it the actor Jeff?
Heller people again in the comment section after the fact.
Let me know either way, Larry.
We got.
Larry, this is what happens when you bleep a stranger in the ass time.
To lick the doughnuts.
Moani, that's perfect.
I lick the doughnut.
He does make me laugh as well.
It's my best buddy.
So Jeff Heller or whoever this guy is just plays really good, creepy, too happy.
And he's like, and she's like, what's your name?
He's like, well, I used to be Larry.
And she asks, She asks him.
She sits him down.
I saw a Cinnabon I.
I don't see a lot of Cinnabons around around here.
And I went to Orlando like right after Better Call Saul ended or right in that range, and I saw a Cinnabon and I was like, so excited.
I was like, Oh my God, a Cinnabon.
Oh my Pixie.
Now you're just why?
Why are you committed to making me sweat?
And blush.
They're mostly.
Honest but.
They prioritize their mission more.
Samuel, That's what I'm thinking with everything, right?
But where's the cut off?
Will they kill if it's best for their mission?
Will they eventually, as they grow, they've learned more about why it happened.
We'll get to that in a second.
But they said that they learned more about why everything's going on if that's the case.
Eventually can.
They learn and adapt and discover that maybe in some cases wiping someone Carol out might be the best case because she's going to be actively working against them and try to figure out a cure and to change people, change people back, which I do think she's going to somehow accomplish almost by accident at some point before the end of this season.
She is going to get someone out of this trance.
I almost thought that's what was going to happen when she pumped Zocia with the with the sodium stuff.
I thought she was going to get her out of the hive mind for a second, but instead it seemed like she just made.
Just made her.
Easier made the hive consciousness easier to access.
Oh, Monty's making me sweat too.
Cinnamon sweets.
I'll be good.
Don't.
Do not be good.
Come on, everything you know about my.
Show please.
This is not a place to be good if you are one of the wonderful people checking this out live right now.
This is a place to be anything but good.
Looking at Cinnabon needs to be in an episode right now when the Cinnabons are fresh.
Oh my, Oh my.
That's what I got to say.
Oh my.
Cinnabon, Saul.
I I miss so much about Better Call Saul I.
I love this show but.
But, and this isn't anything versus the two shows, but there's so many shows that sometimes are fun to talk about when we talk about them.
And I just mean, Better Call Saul was, out of all the shows that we talked about on the channel here, Better Call Saul was probably one of my favorite.
Breaking.
I mean breaking.
Bad was the first thing we ever talked about here in the channel and then we talked about Better Call Saul and now we're talking about Pluribus, so I will.
Commit to.
Say, for the rest of my life as long.
As I have a voice.
I will.
Talk.
On a channel or on a podcast somewhere about every show that Vince Gilligan makes, because this show has.
Nothing to do with.
Better Call Saul or Breaking Bad.
But I love it and this is our first, our first shot of Kim and it just goes to show.
That what I.
Enjoy is him as a filmmaker.
It isn't necessarily the subject matter about what he's talking about.
You know There's no similarities with Better Call Saul and Breaking.
And better.
Call Saul and Breaking.
Bad and pluribus I mean, obviously there's Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
I mean those two shows in this show, they couldn't be more different and I love the fact that they couldn't be any more different.
There isn't any Kim.
There's just there's just Saul and Mike.
OK, so in but in Vince, I trust.
I do I there's I said this in our first broadcast and I'll say it now.
There's very few artists at this point in my life I fanboy for to the point where I give them an extra leeway that I don't other creators.
There's certain.
Movie directors, I'm like that as.
Well, the first three that popped in my mind, I mentioned them before.
Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan.
They make a movie I trust going into it.
I'm confident I'm going to probably enjoy that movie because of.
Historically, what they.
Do That doesn't mean I love every single one of every movies that all those guys did.
It just means going into it, I know there's a more of a likely chance that I'm going to go in there and enjoy this stuff because I enjoy even the stuff I don't enjoy.
It's still pretty as much.
It's still pretty high up there.
Vince Gilligan is the same way he is and Coen Brothers.
I would add as well onto that list if I was mentioning film makers.
I would too, Gary.
If I was in a poor fucker, I'd buy that damn fucking Funko Pop.
I'd buy so.
Many Funko pops if.
I had money.
I'd have the 9O21-O ones that had Star Trek ones.
I'd have Quark.
I am digging it too.
I'm enjoying the stuff and I'm digging the fact that all of you folks are enjoying this show as well.
Anyone that's joining us tonight right now and we've got a good group, good, great, great group of you guys joining us live or checking out this podcast after the fact or checking out the audio cast.
It seems like there is an audience for this show and I'm.
So happy.
To be to be able to break down another Vince show.
So please, Carol.
Please, Carol, get back.
To our recap, SO.
They she has a very.
Creepy fun conversation with this guy.
Like do you like my book?
And we saw.
This this was the.
Leaked scene, not leaked scene.
The preview scene that existed.
And they it, it's kind of a fun scene where it's like, do you like my book?
Do you like my stuff?
Be specific about it.
But he is specific.
She says you sound like you haven't read a single word.
And he's like, he starts quoting her book and he quite, he's like, you make quite a few of us tingle.
Now she goes, how would you say my work compares to Shakespeare?
And he goes, it's the same what she's like, it's the same whatever, like Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, this, that other thing.
She's like, it's the same.
It matters to people.
You're a why Carryo series.
It's it, it matters.
There's this person, Moria, and she was going to kill herself and she read your books and you saved her life and we see her work.
Through your.
Eyes so we see the best of you and that made me ask a question about these things do these things so.
I write songs, make music.
Blah, blah blah, I'm always thinking about playing our new song for you guys tonight.
By the end of the night, we'll see.
We'll see if we do that, but maybe we am.
I am.
I like the the the consciousness of we like.
I have a Co host right now.
Like my Co host didn't ditch me tonight.
No.
So if you compare all that stuff and so these things, if you take one person, say one person thought my band was like the best band in the world.
So would all these things think my band was the best thing in the world because they can see through the eyes and see through the feelings of the one thing on earth that actually likes my trashing music?
And I think that's kind of interesting.
I.
Think that's a fun way of of fucking with things and showing that these in a weird way, they are being earnest because they're tapping into the person that would actually enjoy this as much I was.
Hoping Carol and.
Angry Guy, we're going to meet up in this episode, but I like how she's gathering clues, nom nom nom, like Pac-Man eating everything.
Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy.
Give me some of that stuff.
Give me a Joe loop.
That's right.
Let's get into a little bit more of this recap.
He mentions her fans and I want to see it through your eyes.
She asks the import we get important here and she asks what did Helen think of my books?
Sorry, I'm about you One second.
Yeah.
What did Helen think of my books?
And right.
Away.
This guy kind of gets a look on his face like, yeah, do you really want to talk about this, Carol?
I don't know if you really want to talk about this and she.
Is like.
Yeah, no, I do.
I do What?
What?
What did you think about this?
You know, like tell me and.
What are you?
What are you doing?
Universal Soundboard.
Add the Universe soundboard.
What's it this is not This?
Is the new song going to be released?
Soon, though, but OK, let's let's let's end that.
Let's end that shit.
No one, no one wants to hear your your dumb ass music.
Phil, where are they?
Where is it?
Stop that shit.
OK, there we go.
OK, so I do like the sarcasm.
As well, I'm a.
Huge.
I'm a huge fan of that.
So she asks what Helen thought of her books and she's like, she loves you.
No, no, no, that's not the question.
I asked.
What do you think of my damn books?
Tell me what Helen thought of my books.
And I love this reaction.
We mentioned this earlier.
She says it's harmless.
She said it's cotton candy and she loves cotton candy.
And Carol's like again with that sarcastic Carol vibe.
I never saw her eat cotton candy.
She ate it four times in her life and she loved it.
Oh yeah, you wouldn't know this, She thought.
You really knew how to please your audience.
And it's imagine.
In this environment, she didn't ask it.
But did Helen?
Ever cheat on me?
Like imagine finding out that information through this way.
She essentially found that out that her partner didn't cheat, but lied about how interested she was in her creative energy.
So and she started.
To almost get into a moment where she was having a discussion with Helen within this scene and I thought this was depicted excellently.
Exactly.
Be careful with what questions.
You ask when they can only tell you the truth.
Very well put, very well put.
So let me, let me.
Put, keep, keep.
Keep going here.
OK, so she asked Helen what she thought in the books.
And yeah, she said it was harmless cotton candy.
She and she liked cotton candy enough.
She ate it like 4 times and she loved it.
She knew how to please her audience and she was happy for your success and how she got to live her life because of it.
And Carl asks her what she thought of the important novel.
And she goes.
And dude, dudes like.
Do you?
Really.
Carol, I don't think this line of question questioning is, is right.
I don't think we should go down this road exactly because you don't want to hear this information, which, again, all of this I think is very relevant to how these things operate.
They didn't just straight tell her the truth.
They have to be like, yeah, do you want to know the truth?
Are you sure you want to know the truth?
I don't know if I want to tell you the truth.
Like, let's get into this a little bit.
And it is a.
Fun.
Kind of.
Back and forth with the two of them and she and she's like and she goes no.
I want to know.
And he's like, no, let's talk about something else.
Tell me it will make me happy.
I love.
This I.
Really love this.
I love the performance.
I love Ray's acting in this moment, the way she's discovering it in the moment, you know?
Like I could just really feel.
It like her.
Her experience, exporaneous thought in that moment, like, whoa, I got an idea it would make me happy.
And he goes, OK, it would make me happy.
And Carol and he's like, Helen thought it was fine.
And again.
Protecting her.
Feelings a little bit, not being bluntly honest and she goes fine as in like really good.
Like fine that's fine.
Like she's fine or fine as in meh and the dude goes.
Fine as in meh.
And.
She stopped.
At 137 pages of a 489 page book, that'd be like.
Something be like I watched your.
Podcast bill of the How long have we been on right now?
Hour and 22 minutes of the hour and 22 minutes.
I watched 2 minutes of it, it was great.
Loved it.
Dude, it's fucking awesome.
Be careful.
Be careful for those questions 100% be careful and thank you to everyone that's joining me tonight.
Great to see that every night we go good group coming every week to watch these episodes and talk about this.
It means a lot that to get to come out and talk about this episode with you because it's it really filled me with a lot of excitement.
So this is thank you for being here for me tonight and anyone that's listening to this later, thank you.
OK, so Helen thought it was.
She says, tell me it would make it.
Helen thought it was fine, man.
She stopped at 137 pages.
I thought this was some of the best stuff in the episode because, again, stuff I can relate to as a performer, musician, when you're dating someone and be like, do you like it?
Do you like it?
And I always want to know what they really think.
And she says, you know why?
If she hated it, why did you want me to publish it?
She didn't hate it.
She just thought it was whatever.
She didn't even finish it.
Her and your publisher thought it wouldn't hurt your career and didn't make you happy, so why not?
And she says get the fuck.
Out of here, get the.
Fuck out of my fucking house, Phil.
What do I think of Carol's book?
I think it sucks.
I think, I think what we've seen of it so far, it's, it's, it's not good.
Sonica Boy says I had to crank up my sprinkler.
System.
Bit of a drought here.
Hope.
Hope it's all good my friend, and hope it turns.
Hope the drought ends relatively soon.
Soon you will.
Be in a new dimension where I can drink your blood.
There's five people on earth that would.
Understand that stupid reference right there.
I was in a play in second grade and that was like the big line of the play.
Soon for the star of it that I so you will be in the moon.
I won't.
Say it again.
Carol doesn't even seem to like her own fucking damn novel, says Bill Chill.
Bill Chill makes an excellent point here.
Hot and dry here.
I set my AC back in the window yesterday.
Fuck you, Sonic Phil, I don't like it.
It's pouring rain here in California.
Inconceivable.
I am pretty.
Brutally honest.
Not to mention I don't have a Co host.
So it's hard to.
Do hippie activities now.
So I'm reaching my hippie activity endpoint here.
I'm like, should I just do it on camera?
At this point?
It's legal anyways.
So Helen hated the fucking.
Book No, she didn't hate.
The book she was bored by the book and she liked that why Cario made them famous and rich and they could afford to go to places like Norway to see the Aurora borealis in the $10,000 a night hotel room she.
Enjoyed the lifestyle?
That Carol's talents enabled her?
Inconceivable.
Oh gosh, what's that thing?
It's like, scroll up.
There we go.
Oh yeah, that makes me feel much better.
That's too much of me though, you know, I'm too much on the.
Screen now no one.
No one wants that much of me.
Oh, we got an empty Joe Dirt who locks there?
There we go.
Is it it's legal en masse?
It is.
Carol should ask the hive mind to set one individual free from the hive mind to prove they're being honest.
Samuel, that goes to stuff that Joe and Tony were saying too, about asking for the cure.
I think 100% we need to get that.
And if based on what we saw tonight, I think we might see moments like that.
I think she might ask for Zocia to be released or something like that at some point in time.
And I think if it's going to be somebody, and Zocia survived all of this we saw tonight, which I assume she did, she's going to be the one.
I don't see a thing.
I didn't see a thing, Sir.
Excuse me?
It's more about talking.
It's hard to talk.
And that at the same time.
OK, let's continue.
So yeah, she she.
Thinks it's fine.
So after all of that, when she kicks the motherfucker out of her house, she writes on the board that they can't lie because.
If they could lie in that situation.
Why would they?
So we go to the hospital where she's taking a look at Zocia, and Zocia's in rough shape here, and Carol cares and she goes and she takes care of her.
She asks, she's all right.
She asks her.
And then they go back and forth.
Did you like the car?
We get some bullshit facts about how the cops, dad's sister's cousin that shopped at 31 Flavors and passed out there with Ferris, liked her book.
Let's go in the live.
Chat for a second, we got a couple questions.
Blue.
Laws haymaker that's.
Right.
Can't buy we.
The blue laws disappeared in the mid 2000s, I think.
But I remember that big time when I was a kid, there was only one town around that you could buy booze and you'd have to like drive there because the blue laws for sure.
Anyways, Phil, if you're in Carol's shoes, do you enjoy a luxurious lifestyle for a little while?
What do you get right down to business to solve the issue?
Can both things happen at the same time?
I would get right to business, partially because Joe is my best friend.
I would have to get to business because he'd be up in my shit.
He wouldn't let me relax and enjoy the situation, but I would attempt.
I would put myself in a good situation to I would get myself all the best tools I could.
I wouldn't ignore help from these things.
I wouldn't be as off putting.
I think I would be like, oh, you want to bring me food?
Bring me food.
You want to, you want to bring me a computer?
Bring me every musical instrument in the world that I want, You know, bring me a, a drum set, bring me this, bring me that, you know, bring me all this shit.
Bring me a perfect recording, you know, turn my house into a perfect recording studio.
I would do all of that.
But at the same time, while I was doing that, I would be working my ass off to try to find a cure to the situation.
So I would be doing a little bit of both for sure.
Mini me stop.
Humping the laser.
Don't.
Give, don't give me those wonderful.
Visuals Miss Amy OK, so we go to the hospital and Zosh is in rough shape.
Carol cares about her, she apologizes.
And then she's like, is it OK if I ask you some damn questions?
Jay, that's a good damn question.
I actually.
Talked to him yesterday and he was he was supposed to show up tonight.
I'm assuming that he got home from work late and wasn't able to get into watching the episode tonight.
And him and the Crow got into other business this evening.
So hopefully Joe will be back with us next week.
But if not, you guys are stuck with me like Better Call Saul style.
And, and maybe we'll, if we'll see if, if, if Joe doesn't show up two weeks in a row, we'll work on getting a guest host for Joe.
But for tonight, you're stuck with me.
I'm, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
No, no ridiculous rants about hating this shit tonight.
You just got me.
Bring me all the pop.
Figures, says Gary, Monty says.
I can see both sides.
Still an exceedingly short amount of time to adjust.
Bring me George RR Martin's laptop so I can work on that damn buck.
I'm not fighting the hive mind, says Samuel.
I'm making the best of my best of my situation.
And maybe give them some suggestions to build a perfect world for sure.
And I say it again, maybe Carol.
Is the infected 1?
Certainly possible so.
Let's continue.

A bag of Burger King.
On behalf of all of us so we can come on the show, we need a Phil Funko Pop.
Let's let's get.
Me some likeness.
Rights.
I think there are better drugs than heroin for someone to confess.
I might be wrong.
It was a sodium pentathol bleedness with this animal stuff lives.
Of his.
Animal let's let's get let's get my dog in in the mix too.
Let's get Quark Quark.
Quark wants to be on the show, right?
Quark, Quark.
Yeah, he's like I'm, I'm.
Passed out.
I'm a.
Purple.
I'm a purple people eater on the couch right now.
OK, so I already talked about the apology.
She asked her some questions.
She says secretly, you said, OK, when you when the president that's not the president and was actually the secretary of agriculture, talked to me.
He said really don't understand anything about what's going on.
Do you guys understand more now?
And Zocia says yes, we understand a lot more about the whole situation, and she smiles about it.
And without hesitation.
She straight up asks.
So tell me.
Tell me about that cure.
What do you know about that cure and.
And right away the.
She looks like the Canary.
That cat that ate the Canary is that is that that expression the cat that ate the Canary we.
Want to please you?
But we can't answer that.
She's like, OK, so if you're not answering that, then you've already answered it.
Because if it was no, if there wasn't a cure, you would just say no.
I'm and she's like, Carol, we're sorry we upset you.
And she's like, no, I'm fucking happy.
Like you finally made me happy.
There's a cure.
There's a solution to this.
There's a way out.
And this is a weird.
Line, she says.
Soon enough, Carol, you will feel better and you will know everything in that moment.
Is she talking about Soon enough, Carol, you will be one of us and you will know everything.
Is that what she means?
Yeah, Fuck.
It right, you know she's like, is that what she means in that moment like there's a cure.
I mean the cure you will get the cure.
Fuck the cure.
We'll get you the cure, but maybe.
When we convert you.
You will understand everything or is there more information that Carol will understand in the position she's in right now?
How close are they to converting her?
That's the other question I would have asked if I was Carol in that situation.
I would have asked how close are you to finding an something to convert me to you?
And I don't think they're close.
At all.
I don't think they.
Can.
I don't think they know, but.
I do think it's interesting.
That she is.
She's like, give me the damn cure.
The hive mind.
Acts like they're all.
On ecstasy got to give them a downer because they're always happy.
Ask the hive mind to bring in Jesse and Walter to do a live cook.
They the join would have let Zocia die to please Carol if they they asked if they can help that.
Absolutely They said can we save her?
They would have just sat there and let her die.
We got Biltron in the live motherfucking chat.
You know what's good bro?
I didn't watch the show, but I wanted to show some love.
Bill Tron.
Honestly, that's all I care about.
I don't care if you watch a show.
Just the fact you want to pop on in here and show some love means more than you know, my friend.
Thank you, Bill Tron.
You're the best buddy.
So.
She's like, I'm finally happy there's a.
Damn cure and she'll.
But again, this line is tweaked on me a little bit.
You will soon.
Enough you will know.
Everything and feel better.
So is that saying we got your ass.
We know how to we we're we're closer to turning you.
If someone said that to me in that moment, I wouldn't have asked about freedom falls.
We get into freedom falls in a second here, but I would have said how close are you to turning me and we'll see about that.
Oh my God, I'm a I'm a smoker.
Oh no, So I'm happy and she says tell me about freedom falls and.
We get into she.
Was 16 and her mother sent her to a conversion camp and it was a horrible experience and she says what did I hate most about?
What was one of the worst things about that?
Everyone had a fucking smile on their face.
A smiley asshole fucks.
And now you guys are bringing that same goddamn smiley ass fuck energy to me and I fucking hate it.
Why are you doing that?
And that was the worst.
Experience in my life.
And you're recreating it and you're supposed to be making me happy and change.
Don't do that.
We're asking me to change.
And they get back and forth.
You're asking us to change.
It's an interesting conversation that she's having them.
I feel like this is one of the most transparent, interesting, textured.
And also.
Information ridden discussions we've had so far about this and I love it.
Great company.
Good.
To hear, man, I'm doing all right, getting by.
Same here.
We're all getting by right now.
Huge hug to everyone.
I'm lucky to have all you guys in the live chat right now and anyone that's checking this out, whether it's two people, 20 people like we have right now, whatever.
I could not be luckier enough to have.
All you guys checking this out or people that are checking out the podcast every week, we're having some amazing numbers on the audio podcast.
So huge thanks to everyone that's been streaming and downloading that.
I cannot say enough thanks.
Hopefully you guys will enjoy this week's show without Joe, but but I appreciate it.
Joe will be back, I promise.
Haymaker, cheers to you.
I used to have a.
Cassette tape of the red.
Hot Chili Peppers I love the red Hot Chili Peppers, especially the early Chili Peppers when they were fun in a broken breath you.
Got it.
Open chest above.
Mean ass hypnotize when you lose.
The size watch for the ass.
OK, so.
She's Let's get, let's get back into this episode here.
You were 16, your mom hated you, but you were expecting blah, blah, blah.
I want to get to the important line here.
We know what it's like to be you, but you've never been us.
I thought this was an important point in time that they kind of focus on the way that they actively are manipulating their manipulation.
They're constantly moving it and changing it and developing it and orchestrating it.
This was an excellent manipulation movement moment.
You do not know what it's like to be us, but we know what it's like to be you.
For a second, feel what it's like to be us.
You're not going to want to come back once you tap into the Great Link, Odo.
You're not going to want to give a shit about Bejor.
It's a fun fucking.
Moment, that's when on the beach in the coconut.
Mine take.
Me out to search sublime and try to whine and find the way there are.
OK.
Sorry about that.
Coming.
Soon two piece trip.
New song coming out above.
OK, so take us.
I need band T-shirts.
Two piece.
Oh, thank you Pixie.
I appreciate it.
Two piece trip.
You can listen to our already posted music on anywhere you want but but that's our new song above, coming out in probably in the next month or so.
Flea is my favorite chili.
Pepper mine as well.
Flea and Chad Smith the two of them.
They're fucking amazing.
Especially Flea is one of the one of the best bass players on earth.
As if.
You all watch Rick and.
Morty but the high buying stuff is reminding me of Rick and Morty's ex Unity.
Just like they said in the Bird Box movie.
When Carol turned to the camera, I thought she was about to say recap.
I'm going to try to get Carol on the show.
That's my goal.
OK, so I love this line though.
We know what it's like to be you, but you don't know what it's like to be us.
So she, I feel like that's an important line, an important moment.
So she breaks into a lab and she's going to steal some drugs.
She pockets some needle, she pockets some drugs, some sodium pentathol.
And Duke comes in and he's like, what are you doing?
And she immediately pivots to go, hey, you got some heroin and.
The dude knows.
She did it.
Before and he's like, remember the last time?
And he's like, yeah, that was a lot long ago.
But you know, at this point I just want to do some age.
I want to be like, you know, Sid Vicious.
This is a really funny exchange.
I'm not going to try to go quote for quote in this, but there's moments in this episode, this moment and the moment with Larry, we're very fucking funny.
Joe might not find this stuff.
Funny, but I.
Find this stuff like incredibly hilarious.
Like her dialogue raised, raised delivery is like tight, tight, tight, tight, tight.
And I love, I love the comedy.
Of this series it.
Truly.
Like I'm blushing thinking of it, Thisbee says.
I'm.
So happy we got to.
See the other side of that phone?
Me too.
I was saying that earlier.
That's my one of my favorite parts of this episode.
I love when shows do that and Vince has a major habit of doing that.
He loves to show both sides of it and I.
Love that he makes.
It a habit of doing this.
I can't.
I couldn't type either.
I.
Appreciate you guys in the chat.
It's tough.
You anyone got that fucking smart?
Got that smark?
It's like smack.
But Carol is dancing with it, I guess.
So she breaks in the lab, she takes the drugs, she pockets the the drugs and she's like, dude got any heroin?
And he's like, you don't want heroin?
And she's like, yeah, I do.
I need some needles too.
Give me some fucking needles, He says.
We don't have any heroin in this facility, but we got oxy.
You want oxy?
He's like, she's like, no heroin.
Get me heroin.
He's like, heroin's on its way here.
It's it's it'll be 25 minutes till your heroin arrives and she's like, good.
I'm going to be Sid Vicious and fuck it.
Shoot up on my toenails and have some fun and be intolerant.
It's going to be great, but then she gets.
Home and she dumps the.
Heroin and she gets the sodium pentathol that she has or whatever it's called the the truth serum and she's testing it out.
She wants to see if it's real, if it really works.
She sets up a video camera to shoot herself taking it and she she dumps the heroin, she shoots herself with the sodium stuff and.
She's got the camera on her and we we do a quick.
Cut to her passing out and she wakes up and she watches the video and we get probably the most hilarious part of the episode.
She fast forwards and she watches herself and we see her crying and she misses Helen.
She makes evil weird voices and she does voices reading her own stupid book.
She talks about the lady.
Pirate.
Zosha and how she's so fuckable and how annoying it is that she's so fuckable and she's she's like, oh, you're all so happy fucking who gives a shit?
And she's like, OK, I guess this.
Shit works.
So she had to go find Zocia, and she finds her.
She's like, you look so much better than the last time we saw each other.
She takes her outside.
We get some classic Vince Gilligan, awesome camera angles and things like that.
And Zocia's asking her about the heroin.
She goes, no, I chickened out.
I didn't do the heroin.
She loads the sodium pentathol into.
Her IV and the weird music gets turned on like some weird shit's about to happen and they make some.
This is what I love.
About Vince.
Gilligan stuff.
You get slice of life moments like this moment with Zocia and Carol trying to make small talk while the sodium pentathol is kicking in and they just make the stupidest small talk that amounts to nothing.
It's like, hey, how you doing?
How you doing?
How you doing?
And a moment.
Happens, she suddenly starts to get cut off by the collective and some it.
Starts.
To make her more easy to manipulate.
I don't think she gets cut off.
I think the drug just effects her and it makes her easier to manipulate.
And she asks Zocia, how do I end this?
How do I reverse this?
You told me earlier there was a cure.
No, no, no.
You already admitted it.
That's the hardest part.
Tell me what the cure is.
And she's getting really intense.
I muted it so you didn't have to.
Hear my awful burp now.
The music starts kicking in, the sound effects start building.
Everything starts building to this huge crescendo of like tension and amazingness as she's like, no, tell me, tell me what's going on.
And she gets straight Jack Bauer, tell me what you.
Know she like.
She gets straight Jack Bauer.
On it like and all the people around start turning and start coming towards the situation and they get close they surround her she it's get it starts to feel dangerous like watching it I started to feel some danger internally and Carol.
Stands up.
And she starts throwing her arms around.
I have agency.
You can't touch me.
You can't touch me.
Back away, back away.
And she says everyone, she says, please tell me, tell me, is it a chemical?
Is it a medicine?
How do we reverse this thing?
And then everyone starts saying please Carol, please Carol, please Carol, please Carol, Carol, please Carol, Carol.
And I'm saying in rhythm the the way they edited this thing, they.
Did it in off time.
You guys were telling me, Phil, shut the fuck up.
Get used to the get used to the theme.
The theme's good.
Like we don't want to hear your your idiotic perspective.
Phil, shut the fuck up.
Fuck out.
Pam yeah, I'll shut up, OK?
I'll shut up.
Fuck out Pam.
Fuck out, Pam.
OK.
Let's get in the live chat.
No, shut up, Phil.
No, I can't.
See This is why I need Co hosts.
For this stuff.
OK, let's continue.
So no.
Let's get in the live chat.
For a second I thought you farted.
I might have, I'm not sure.
No, I didn't now, Biltron says.
I have a feeling I absolutely love those early special.
The whole Michael Jackson bit in for what it was.
It gets me every single time.
Valium, Oxy, Xanax.
Anyone know any other powerful Downers?
Klonopan.
Klonopan that.
Works.
That works really.
Well, Fisbee says.
I love the parallel of Walter White telling the truth of the second cell phone while on anesthesia.
Oh, oh, I love the parallel of Walter White telling the truth of the second cell phone while on anesthesia.
Truth serum, Sonic boy, says Snuffy.
I'm a sick bird.
I need some snag bird.
It's on Apple Plus Biltrum.
Apple Trust get money says hey.
Mick got any smack?
I think Phil Bill trying to ask Phil if you remember this, but in the opening scene of the pilot of Texter, he yells at the guy, Open your eyes and look at what you've done.
He sounds exactly like Jack Bauer.
Anytime I see someone pressing, pressing someone for information, I think about Jack Bauer.
They really don't play elevator music anymore.
They don't.
It's just a channel.
It's mad.
Makes me so uncomfortable.
Please get it.
Really.
It was.
It was off putting, Thisbee.
It made me feel very awkward and off putting.
The way they all said please, please, cow.
Please go.
It was Let me see.
Let me see if I can change to one of these things.
Please, Carol.
Please, Carol.
Please, Carol.
Please, please, please, please, please.
Please.
Yeah.
My wonderful day.
It was.
It was like that.
It was really awkward and weird and made me uncomfortable.
What kind of music do you make, Phil?
Like, Like what kind of crap do you like?
Like, play some of your stupid music, Phil.
Here's some Phil music.
What?
No close you music.
That's some of the music I play.
This is some.
Of the music too.
To the cracker, then sprout tripping on some.
Mud in the fresh cut ground, take it out to Leech in time and try to mine and find your day.
Above my heart is an open book, like the dark ripping.
Off the sparkle that it's.
Fun.
When I slide out looking.
For choice, I find my voice above.
Green eyes.
That make you cry?
OK, that's enough of that.
But.
Yeah, that's that's the new song of my band.
I'm playing the drums and the the crappy vocals that that's.
Me on the song.
And my band, 2 piece trip, that'll be our next song above that will be out soon.
So yeah, if you're curious of our of our music, there you go.
There's some there's some stuff.
OK, let's continue into this live chat.
I I play the drums, trumpet and the vocalist on that on that particular track.
But but yes.
And then my we're two piece band and then my guitar player plays the guitar and the bass and all the stringed instruments and all that stuff.
So I can boy Phil, is it possible for a non hive mind person to pretend to be in the hive mind without the hive mind noticing?
I don't think so.
I think they would know that that person wasn't tapped into the hive mind if they were pretending to be.
Biltron it's.
It's it's awesome.
I'm lucky I have a very very a neighbor.
That, that is all.
Good with me playing the drums, Amy.
I might need you to sing.
A song at some point.
I hardly listen to music nowadays, pretty much just podcasts.
I refer to music as crap to Phil I I refer to my music as crap too.
Yeah, that's what I do too.
It's whatever it's it's fucking crap.
You know?
It's what it is, what it is.
I'll play a little bit more crap a little bit later.
Let's continue as a recap here.
And because we're get almost to the end of the episode, we're basically to the end.
And I might keep going a little while here after I'm done.
So all the people around start to just go please, Carol, please, Carol, please.
And she at the same time as like, tell me, tell me, tell me what's going on.
This gets really intense.
It goes from zero to 99 real fucking quick here.
And I, and that's what I appreciate about this episode, this episode and this show in general, it lulls you into a sense of security.
Excuse me for one second.
Now, this isn't going to.
Play.
On the audio cast, this is a dog toy.
Now look at this floppy.
Ass thing.
Does anyone else have a dirty?
Mind about this?
Anyways, forget that OK.
I'm back, thank you.
I just need to grab some drinks.
I went to go fight in the.
Garden troll, I did.
Ashley says.
I'm no expert on doses of anesthesia, but I was thinking Carol's body must have had a higher dosage.
Maybe this has something to do with the history of opioid use.
Absolutely.
I think we're establishing at this point in the situation that Carol is very much.
And I was not going to say an.
Expert, but someone that has no problem with substance abuse.
Quark come here has no problem with substance abuse and that's just part of who she is as a person.
I just took some sodium pentathol.
I did too since they mentioned she has done heroin before they did and they've mentioned and she's obviously an alcoholic.
Have we talked about before and a lot of different situations it does.
It looks like a long.
Slender Dong.
It does.
It's it's and my dog is biting it right now.
Quark, Quark, come here.
Come up, Come up.
Come up here.
OK, so she said we get into this like, please, Carol.
Please.
Carol moment.
Please, Carol, Come up, Come up.
Go.
Up, up, please, Carol.
Up.
OK.
Or don't.
Or don't dog.
What the hell?
What's the Oh yeah.
Oh.
Come on.
Hi.
Hi, Doggy.
Oh, hi.
Doggy face Hi, we've got my dog here who wants to Co host on the show.
He he like he liked everything.
Phil is the Mexican guy going to try to fight?
Yes, the Paraguay guy is 100% going to try to find Carol.
I bet he finds her by the end of the season.
I, I think it might be, it might take a few episodes to get there, but I do think he is going to absolutely find her at some point in time.
It might be that might be our.
End of the season.
Vibe like the last one of the last things we see might be her finding that guy, but I do think 100% he finds her at some point in time for sure.
So, so as all of this is happening, it's getting intense.
The please Carol, please Carol, please Carol.
She's like, tell me the cure, tell me the cure.
Suddenly Zocia goes into cardiac arrest.
And again, a very interesting moment where they're they can't just save Zocia without Carol's permission or without making Carol happy because it doesn't matter to them if they just lose another one of their many, many minions.
And they asked Carol, is it OK if they try to save her?
And they're like, yeah, it's OK.
She's like, yes.
And she's dying.
And they try to save her and, and, and they're like, no, no, no, no.
They look at Carrot, look at Carol and they start surrounding her.
And Carol is good boy.
Thank you, Quark.
And Carol starts getting surrounded.
By all.
Of them we pan up to like a drone shot of everyone down there and all surrounded and I mentioned this earlier several times.
It seemed like everyone started to get upset at her in this moment like there was some anger built up around her in these things.
Not they're allowed to feel anger, but it felt like an angry energy there.
But I could have been interpreting that in a different way.
And that is the end of our episode.
Wow, another great great episode of pluribus.
4 episodes in.
I'm already hooked.
I can't wait.
It's tough to wait week to week, but I love being able to come out here every week and talk to you about this episode these episodes because this is one of those shows that just begs for this kind of thing for all of us to come out here and Babble and talk about these episodes after the fact.
They was all crying.
Worth it to note 10 of 10 episodes.
I'm with us too.
This was my favorite episode of this season.
It it brought everything to a more intense real position.
It made things even more real and it started to get to the point with what I wanted in this situation to explore the limits of it and the points of it like Carol asking the question right away.
Not making us.
Wait.
Not having people like Joe being like why didn't she ask them for the cure.
She asked for the cure right away it was the first question she asked when she had an opportunity to I thought they were pleading Carol please they were upset.
They weren't happy.
No, they weren't.
They were.
They wanted to do something, but they couldn't officially do anything.
But it seems like in that moment they they sort of wanted to do something, but I don't know.
That's how I felt.
I was like, yeah, they feel like it.
Do you do you feel it?
But yeah, no complaints.
So far, I am all about what I've been watching so far.
But now's the time.
Everybody we we're going to, I'm going to.
Keep things up.
Questions and comments in the live chat.
If you have any questions or comments that I haven't touched upon yet, throw it on in right now or if you want to call on in the show, the phone lines are open 781-990-8509.
Get your voice in the show, share your thoughts on what you thought of this episode and what you're thinking of the season so far, or if you have any questions.
You can call in in anytime you want.
Phil should let Vince let Dan and shut up Sonic your both.
Keep Dan and Dave away from this.
I think Vince should have taken over for Game of Thrones and finished that series, Thisby says.
The joined feel like Big Brother human security cameras, like they're going to let let her around.
The joined feel like Big Brother human security cameras, and they're not going to let her around drugs again.
That's what I wonder, like, would they give her another grenade right now?
Would they give her more drugs after this situation?
Are they to keep a closer eye on her knowing that she sort of outsmarted them in this situation?
I think that's all very important.
Very cool stuff to look forward to moving forward-looking forward to moving forward.
Yeah, whatever.
Accept my redundancies.
But I do think.
It's something to kind of.
Keep an eye on to see if that establishes this as part of the situation.
Yeah, Sonic, don't.
Scare me like that.
Gary says if they try to bring Zoja back but she can't talk now, they should give her a.
Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.
Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.
I wouldn't be.
I wouldn't be upset at that.
I'd be into it.
We'd we'd for sure watch it.
But what else?
I mean, if we're thinking we're 4 episodes in, we're neck, we're almost halfway.
I think there's 9 episodes this season.
I assume the rest of this season.
So what are we going to see next?
That's that's an interesting question.
Unlike weeks before, they didn't show us what the episode title in a preview for the next episode quite yet.
I don't think we're going to meet.
Paraguay guy till episode 8 or 9.
So right now we have episodes 567 with three episodes of Carol to do some other stuff.
So coming from this, we're going to see more of her connection with Zocia in the next episode.
Maybe.
Maybe her asking for Zocia to be taken out of the consciousness.
What do you guys think?
Whether you're.
Listening to the podcast later, leave a comment or if you're watching right now, what do you think is going to happen in these next couple of episodes?
Or if you're brave, calling in 781-990-8509.
Share your thoughts on this particular episode.
Thisby says, I love this show too.
They won't meet with her one-on-one.
Respect my fire tag.
I do think they do feel like a big.
Brother.
And they're judging and they're watching and they're doing all these things in this next episode after this all happens.
What?
I'm curious.
Of.
Is can these guys get mad?
Can they kick someone out of the hive?
That's another question.
As I said, it would be interesting to see if they can do it.
On command like if.
Carol says, you know what would make me happy?
If I had Zotia released, Like release her Who?
Can they do that?
Or is it like infectious kind of thing where you can't turn it off and turn it on?
Can they actually release someone from it?
We found out in tonight's episode there's a cure, but we didn't find out if the hive itself.
Can.
Actively release members from the hive.
But we do know there's a cure that can reverse this.
At least that's the.
Dynamic that we've presented.
In this evening's episode.
So yes, we still have 5 more episodes of this show.
We're ending on the last one of these shows.
Like me talking to you guys.
The last one of these will be Christmas Day night.
That's our season finale, so we're on till then.
So we got a bunch.
We got, we got a whole, whole shit load of time.
But what I'm curious.
Is what happens next I wonder?
What Paraguay?
Guy was doing with the radio.
My assumption is I don't know specifically what he was doing, but I'm probably trying to find other people that were like him, right, like trying to find somebody that was out there delivering a signal as well.
So he's checking every single signal possible.
At least that's how I for how I interpreted it.
I that he was sort of trying to connect to on ACB radio or whatever kind of radio he was using and trying to sort of check every single channel possible, every, every point love, you know, go through every little point you could possibly go to try to see see who the hell was out there besides him.
And that's why he made a special note for Carol saying that she's somebody that's unique or like him.
Are we going to see?
One of the.
Hive have a seizure and go back to the way they used to thisbe that's one of those things I definitely think is in the wheelhouse of possibilities of things we could see moving forward.
We could see many people imagine a whole town coming out or whole group of people suddenly jumping out and then being put back in the hive.
So I think the people that think that this.
Scenario that that a set.
Up like this.
Doesn't give a lot of room for.
Interesting development, I think aren't looking at this enough because I do think there's so many fun weird things you can do with this.
Let's go in the live.
Chat.
I don't think.
Zocia could leave.
The hive mind.
It's like the Borg.
If one of them jumps out, they all jump.
That's not true.
Haymaker we.
Have examples?
Of people leaving the Borg, right?
Don't we?
7 of motherfucking 9 Lacoutis of Borg.
Those little Borg kids.
The other people in Seven of Nines pawed whatever they call them.
We've seen situations where people have been taken out of the Borg.
They always keep some element of it inside them.
Seven of Nine and Lacoutis do have some connected tissue to the Borg.
Always, as we see in Picard season 3 especially.
But they do find their ways out of it somehow.
So maybe.
Just to challenge.
That, but you're right.
I'm not sure if they'll let Zoja out well seeing as.
How?
They won't tell us how to undo this.
Her next question should be finding out their objective.
I think what we know for sure first objective is turning her.
But also that's a good question.
What are you doing here?
Are you trying to set up a like?
What is the goal of this consciousness?
Start searching the earth out.
What are they?
Up to besides trying to flip her listening from the signal.
From space are.
We going to see one of the hive have a seizure, go back to what it used to.
OK?
He's not tapping into the end.
I'm re Thing is, no, I don't think he is.
I don't think so.
So many interesting things moving forward here on this show.
I can't wait to see all the different directions that it goes.
Let's see where our top fans are today.
Good Haymaker, who is number 1 tonight?
Imani, who's very close.
Samuel, very close.

So thank you so much for.
Everyone.
Becoming a member tonight.
That's Phil.
Do you think Carol will actually find the cure?
Yes, I do.
Think.
No.
Does this series end with Carol finding the cure?
I don't.
Think it ends with that, but I do.
Think she finds in a way to take people out of the consciousness at times or throughout the series certain people come out at certain times hearing weird hearing sounds.
Thank you, but.
Again, thank you so much for those donated memberships.
They, they mean everything.
They absolutely do.
So at the end there, do what?
Do we think's going to happen?
Next, do you think if at any point Carol is in any danger, did they get to the point where they view her as a threat?
And Paraguay.
Guy is a threat.
Does it ever get to that point?
Is that future seasons?
That's the question that that keeps percolating through my head, but any final questions or comments here before we start to wrap?
This up please.
Jump in the live chat and share them right now or calling in 781-990-8509.
And if you're listening to the podcast right now and you're made it this far, like seriously, if you've made it 2-2 and two plus hours in here in this podcast, make sure you leave a comment or review or something.

Look up the talking pluribus, our show.
Make sure it's us.
Scroll down, takes fucking 30 seconds to do this shit.
Give us a five star review and also if you want to say something write some shit about us like you guys are the cats meow please Carol.
And it helps us reach more crazy people like us.
Will Manos finally eat the food they leave for him, or will he starve?
I mean, that's so much one of the interesting parts of this show, right?
If you put yourself in those situations, how much would how much is that doggie in the window?
How much would you sacrifice your own food and your own eating before you get to a point where?
You just.
Say fuck it, right?
I think he's going to go on the move and look for more of his own food supply.
I don't think he'll ever eat.
I think next mission for him is to be on the move and head to try to find Carol.
I think next time we see her is him showing up at Carol's door.
They can't kill, can they?
Maybe they can.
We got a phone call.
Let's.
Say this is from.
Area code Well this is from a far.
Away, I think what's.
Going on welcome to the show how you doing today?
Hey I I didn't know that this could work to be honest.
Yeah, I'm, I'm.
Excited and I don't.
I don't want to take up too much.
Of your time because I know this call might be like costly yeah yeah, I know it's.
Gladness, it's gladness.
I just wanted to say, Oh my God, if you're.
Going to take heroin?
Why wouldn't you ask for a nurse or something to administer it for you?
Why would you like look for a vein?
And what the fuck, you have the best nurse in the world just waiting for you?
Seriously.
I mean, I think she was just using the heroin as a mask to try to not have them know that she was trying.
To get the sodium penthol, but the whole situation, why wouldn't you use the best that you can of these people?
That's so true.
Like you have the best nurses in the world, You have the best this in the world, you have the best of the world.
Like just use it for sure.
Yeah, I just wanted to show my support for the show and I'm.
Probably.
Going to hang up?
No.
No, you.
You should.
You should hang up.
Like as much as I want to talk to LED this, as much as I want to talk to you, you should hang.
Up because it's probably costing you $50 a minute to call in right there.
Resistance is futile.
Thank you for calling and see see how easy it is LED this called in.
It's no problem.
It's your turn now.
I want to stay on.
I'll stay alive for at least another half an hour if people call in, but if not, we'll start to wrap things up.
But if you want to call in, start calling on in in 781-990-8509.
And again, if you're listening to this later, definitely call in and leave some voicemails of your thoughts on Pluribus so far after 4 episodes.
Resistance is fucking futile.
We got another text message.
That's OK.
If you guys want to text, texting works as well.
How would Tony Soprano do in this world?
Would he be pissed at that?
All the happy Wanderers?
Yes.
Tony would not do well in this particular world for sure.
Woo.
What really long distances like he was in area code, he was in like country code 55 there.
You know it worked.
What if the family members of the other immune who are part of the hive convinced them to kill or do things to Carol for them?
That's the thing, we keep getting into Fisbee.
Is.
There a possibility or is there a point where they get where Carol?
Is so much.
Of a.
Pain in the ass that they can't help but go out of their way to try to find.
An opportunity to.
Stop her.
Maybe they can't kill her, but maybe they can go out of their way to find all.
These strange things to do to.
Fuck with her to make her situation more difficult, to make her more encouraged to want to join in.
Or, I mean, they can't, she can't join in.
It's more about just being happy and letting them make her happy.
Amy's making me laugh tonight.
It is we got.
How about Walter White?
I would.
Walter right there.
That Walter would.
Not do well, Walter would.
Die soon.
His ego would cause him to die quickly.
Walter would not survive well in this particular world, Area code 845.
It just would not happen.
Any more questions or comments about this particular episode or any of the episodes?
Or what you're hoping to seen?
See before the end of the season, now is the time to get them in.
Lock her up for for sure.
Seriously.
That's not hurting her.
Why don't they just put her in a prison cell?
Maybe after after what?
The events of tonight's episode?
That's what I would do if I was the hive mine.
Not that I'm can think like a hive mind, but we'd be like, we cannot hurt Carol, but we should isolate her so she cannot cause any more harm to our what we're trying to do, like put her in a position.
But their goal isn't just not to hurt her, it's to make her happy.
They're oddly compelled to make her happy.
Are the astronauts infected?
Yes, I think they are.
I think there were some of the first to be infected.
Right?
But maybe not.
We shall see.
They would give Walter.
The best treatments.
Out there possible.
They would not.
Be able to kill, but they seem to be able to manipulate or tiptoe.
Absolutely Ashley.
We've seen that they are able to use some form of manipulation.
They're able to lie with omission a little bit like if you don't ask.
The right question they.
Won't tell you the truth.
Like let's look to the scene where Carol was asking Zosha, like, are you?
Are you watching me?
Are you guys?
And she's like, no.
No, we're not watching.
We just happened to be outside.
And then Carol pushed a little bit more and they're like, yeah, we have the military satellite watching you at all times right now.
And they think you should drink water.
And every doctor in the world thinks you should drink water.
So they do have an ability to lie.
We've seen social lie, or at least myth, mistruth, mistruth a little bit.
I don't know if that's correct expression, so that is worth mentioning at least.
Anyways, let's, Gary said.
They can lock her up.
They can lock.
Her up and still.
Keep her happy.
Bring.
Yeah, bring anything she wants, anything she needs.
I don't.
I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually try to lock.
Her up in some fashion that seems like it would be.
An obvious.
Not an obvious, but a something that a hive mind would eventually get to if Carol becomes a nuisance.
Phil would.
You ask personal questions to the hive mind of people in your life.
Yes, yes, fucking of course I would.
I'd be a menace if I was outside the hive mind and I was Carol.
I would like to think I would be trying to save the world, but I would just be.
I'd be using it.
For my own advantage, if I was Marty McFly, I would be getting the Almanac, too.
I'm not.
I'm not good.
Joe really did steal my sandwich.
