We totally, 100% understand. It can be really scary to walk into a gym for the first time. It can be intimidating. You don’t want to be the weakness, least fit, slowest, or the “newbie”. We get it, because we have ALL been there. Here are a few things to keep in mind when gaining the courage, and how to get yourself through the door.
First of all, think about why you want to start at a gym in the first place. If that reason is strong enough, it will overtake your fear! Second, make a phone call, and talk to a real human first! If it feels right, get yourself through the door. If it doesn’t, maybe try the next place. Third, remember that this is about YOU. Which means that everyone else is likely feeling the same as you - worried only about themselves.
