Speaker 1

This is an iHeartRadio New Zealand podcast.

He's back, got paid today?

Speaker 2

Money for nothing in ships, to free rate pain, to talk the Heart in former sparring partner Matt What a lot of money for nothing back on radio hood.

Speaker 1

Tell you what a lot of news going on, a.

Speaker 3

Lot of news going on.

There a lot of sports going on.

So I was laid into the studio and she was just upstairs at head office up there talking to sales and marketing and the big boss about giving twenty five grand away?

Right, how do we get on the show We're going to give away today?

But they said no, they're not keen on that, so we will not be giving twenty five k.

Probably shouldn't announced it at all.

Speaker 1

What about something a smaller denomination?

Speaker 3

Maybe we thought about it now they said no to twenty five k.

But imagine, kys, if you did win twenty five k, just say you did.

What would you do with it?

How would you spend it?

If you won twenty five k?

Text me for eight three now tell us heid you'd spend twenty five k if you want it?

On the show.

Speaker 1

We've actually got someone calling in right now.

Speaker 3

Okay to take the caller, come in caller, come.

Speaker 1

In coller and they're gone, So they wouldn't spend twenty five k.

Actually, just ask chet GBT because this is the best use of AI.

How many beers fit in the bledders Low Cup?

Speaker 3

Oh how many?

Speaker 1

How many would you say?

Speaker 3

I'd say forty forty?

Speaker 1

This is a standard ends at au beer three thirty mail about twenty four to thirty.

But I reckon I've heard the number.

The number forty five rings about for some reason.

Speaker 3

Okay, as I say forty in the middle of there, you're not bad?

Comes down?

How much throw off and stuff?

That's this hasn't been a lot of hope about this game that's on Saturday, of course, acc calling that at about at five o'clock.

Who are you picking?

Speaker 1

We've got Ardie Beck and Captain Ye so I think I mean that the All Blacks after the last game in Wellington, I think they have to absolutely pump them.

It's not only a bad lock of losing the first game to Australia.

I've had the letters Low Cup for twenty two years, haven't lost a dad in park Ras will be in trouble for lose this one.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it's a lot of pressure on everyone but everything to play for You're.

Speaker 1

Going no, No, I'm actually going to be at a bar drinking Kobe's amounts of responsibly beers, celebrating the wedding that I didn't invite anyone to.

So I've got to sort of put a bar.

Speaker 3

He invited me to it, but I can't go.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well you made up some story about going to Fiji than.

Speaker 3

Yeah I am, but three for eight three.

Who's going to win the game, the Big Game Australia New Zealand twenty five k?

What would you do if you won twenty five k?

Yeah?

And it's kind of awkward really because when it was quite a serious business meeting and I arranged to meet him, I just said, look, let's just meet at the bar on the corner and we'll all talk numbers and figures and stuff, and of course I didn't realize it was a gay bar.

I've got nothing against gay bars, but I'm not going to have a serious business meeting with a guy I've ever met at a gay bar.

On reflection, if I don't think it affected anything, and I've got nothing against that, but it's not your first choice of the first time meeting with someone to talk business.

Speaker 1

You know what I mean, Yeah, or what was the name of the bar The sphincter on.

Speaker 3

Hop So it's like a brew ber' that's what appealed to me, you know, I'm the hop sort of.

Yeah.

I just saw the hop part of it, you know, and I thought it was one of those sort of brew bars I make their own beers and you know, probably do a good steak sandwich and that kind of stuff.

I didn't actually see the sphincter on hop side of it, you know.

And across the road it was called, I thought the whole district might have been.

It might have been because it was cross road from the Shepherd's Ass.

Speaker 1

That's why nice Ship is arts.

Actually, I think I've been there.

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Yeah, they do a good potato top pie there.

But anyway you live and land, Hey, texta coming in.

Speaker 1

They certainly are a lot of people texted.

And we're actually talking about before the how many beers might fit into the letters low cap.

We see what thirty forty, but apparently someone reckons fifty two beers in the cap.

I'd buy a question of bork.

Sorry.

This is also combining the question as to what you do with twenty five grand I'd buy a questionable caravan and drive to every crusader's game in twenty twenty six and say the acc caravan is probably available for that yep.

I would spend all twenty five k on a brand new Jet Ski and disappear into the deep Blue, probably end up in Australia as an illegal immigrant and picked fruit and Hobart and someone else said again fifty two bers according to Justin Marshall, and someone else said, I think this is directed at U Lee.

Give away some chips.

Speaker 3

Well, let's give away some chips.

You want some chips now?

Text three for eight three will take the twenty fifth, thirtieth and forty second.

Speaker 1

Texter outstanding and the phone lines tell us who you are and why you want them outstanding.

Call or text.

We'll take one call and the rescue me texts all right, hello Hoadachi good a mate?

Speaker 4

How are we give him?

Speaker 1

Macko far Friday?

Speaker 3

How are we you know?

Bad mate?

How are you more to the point?

Oh look, I.

Speaker 5

Had a question, ye cast iron pans?

Speaker 1

What's the go?

Speaker 5

How do we season them?

Speaker 4

I've got it.

Speaker 2

I've got to get it done before tonight.

Got a cookup going on, and I need needs to advice.

Speaker 3

Yeah, well mate, what do you do?

Mates?

You you whacked out on the pan?

But oil, get the oil right round it, not like bubbing away, but it just sort of all over the bit of salt is if you are seeing some food, just olive oil, I'd go with to be honest and yeah, just just just get it smoking but not too smoking, and rinse it out and then put a bit of oil back in there again.

Then leave it in the in the cupboard.

Ready to go.

Speaker 2

Your legions think you very much.

Speaker 3

Day there you go.

Good to see a decent question for a change come through.

Speaker 1

Yeah, if you've got any other questions as well, I feel free to give us the bell.

Speaker 3

Run it down if we kitchen later.

Do they meant anything at all?

I'm feeling you know, I'm feeling you know you've got the.

Speaker 1

Answer feeling wise.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I'm planning.

Speaker 1

Wives got some wisdom on the boil.

Yeah, page to talk to me, Matte.

We'll tell you what there's a there's a what's spring in the air?

Maybe you know the weiner's a bit.

It seems to be a lot of people out.

Speaker 3

Of their daylight savings thing happening on sun.

Speaker 1

It's the stretch up one, isn't it, because you've got to spring forward so.

Speaker 3

You can watch us back forward.

Speaker 1

Yeah, so you're losing now, don't you.

Speaker 3

Well, I think the problem you know, look, it's on you.

Most people got a phone nowadays, don't they.

And yet it just changes automatically, don't You don't have to change it on your phone.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it changes automatically.

But you still lose it now, don't you.

So if you ever get a back name, if you haven't a big Saturday night, you sort of you lose that, especially you've got kids.

Any idiot tips on how you sort of navigate daylight savings when you when you've got kids, because.

Speaker 3

Jesuz, Yeah, because they don't acknowledge it either.

Speaker 1

They don't They're.

Speaker 3

Not aware of the situation.

I'm just trying to think back.

I just ignore it.

I think, Oh, you can make them sleep with blindfolds on if you try.

Speaker 1

That, No like hoods like kind of like kind of like eagles or hawks.

Speaker 3

Yeah, like little sort of black hoods, sleeping masks and keep all the curtains closed and just trying to get them to sleep the nextra hour, put them to bed now later.

Speaker 1

So almost just treat them like they've got hangover.

Speaker 3

Yeah, put into bed now later.

I think that's the way to go.

Speaker 1

Then you lose two hours, don't you.

Speaker 3

God the confusing text week for read three?

Do you put the clocks forward and put them back?

But who has a clock in the house anyway that you have to put back?

Speaker 1

Who's the oven?

Isn't it in the microwave?

Speaker 3

Yeah?

Speaker 1

And that the one in your car as well.

Speaker 3

Well, I've got two microwaves, well in daylight saving time or one on on normal time music, because too, I had to change it.

Speaker 1

How do you know which is which?

Speaker 3

Because the left one is predolate saying you know that's the winter one and the right one is the summer one.

Speaker 1

Do you use them according to which time is correct?

Or you just use both of them?

Speaker 3

No?

No, I only use only use the summer microwave in the summer, and it tends to be sort of summer foods that I'm heating up.

The winter tends to be more your your comfort foods to lasagn is this kind of stuff, so that it gives me a chance for summer to clean that one out, you know, clean all the stuff that I've been cooking in that because I don't clean it until day like savings kicks in.

Speaker 1

So is your the microwave you were using when it was daylight saving last year?

Is that still sort of festering or you've cleaned it?

Speaker 3

No, No, that that the one, the clean the summer one we're going into that's been clean, ready to go.

Okay, as we head in there, Yeah, same as the car dashboard.

I've got two clocks in there as well.

Oh yeah, yep, one on daylight savings, one one night a lot easier, lot easier, lot easier.

What are your daylight saving tips for Matt?

How do you get through it those first couple of days going to work?

So you're saying you go to work in the morning, not that we do.

You're losing hour, you gain one.

Speaker 1

You lose an hour.

Actually, you know, not to be quite handy as if they did changed day out saving time at three o'clock on a Friday.

Speaker 3

We should have shown up late to this, you know.

Yeah, and pretending we didn't know, we.

Speaker 1

Wouldn't have to do the show.

Speaker 3

I'm enjoying it.

Speaker 1

Then make.

Speaker 3

Taxa coming through and made a lot of people saying if I had twenty five grand, I'd invest it back in this radio show.

That's pretty good to hear in what way?

I don't know how that invest it.

Probably hear more of us, less adds, less, less music, and more of us.

I suppose twenty five k good on them.

Speaker 1

That sounds someone.

Speaker 3

Else said loving the show, guys, great stuff, real cool, that's coming.

Speaker 1

Can you tell you what?

We've got a new podcast like wind Live and yesterday Wednesday Morning, I think it was with Kaylee Bell.

She's actually I think the most streamed Australasian country, and uh well in Australasia.

Speaker 3

We kind of broke it first, really didn't we you know, broken, We kind of put put her out there mentally.

A success in the last few days has come from us and the podcast we've had.

Do you can check that out on Paid to Talk on iHeart Radio or reveget your podcast.

Then we did another podcast actually with another young fella called Jordan Mooney and he's joining us now.

Jordan, welcome.

Speaker 5

That's a beautiful not I like when people say Jordan Mooney.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'd say nice.

I don't come in there, Jordan.

Speaker 5

Didn't you know when I spoke?

Speaker 3

Was it the first time?

Speaker 1

That was good?

Stealth?

Speaker 3

You just he's snuck in there.

We did a podcast with you just you know, obviously we pre record these things, the reason being, of course, you've got a big movie coming out tonight that you made, and you're the star actor.

Speaker 5

That's right, Terminal Lake is what it's called.

It's going to be a big night tonight.

I don't know if you can hear my voice.

You can suits that I said I was going to wear?

Speaker 1

Ah, yes, you can hear it.

Is that a good way to get a leading role in a movie, sort of be the one that's making it.

Speaker 5

I think so definitely.

There are actually no other actors in it.

Speaker 3

Is there any actors in that?

If you do it all again, is there any actors you change?

Speaker 5

I probably just cast myself again, but in another role.

Speaker 3

Because you because you are the only person in this movie.

Yeah, okay, yeah, I didn't mean you need to.

I haven't seen it yet, but.

Speaker 1

As it kind of like Big Mama's House, where you're paying about fifty different characters or it's just the one character.

Speaker 5

It's sort of like that, but the rule is folded into the one and he just kind of splits his personality all throughout.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, nice, nice, Nice.

You were talking about podcasts, and I've got to say we've put that one through the ring with them, a hell of a lot of editing.

We just can't seem to get it to work.

I don't know what it is.

I don't know.

Speaker 1

I've never never happened before three years working around the clock, didn't.

Speaker 3

We Yeah, we're checking ai ad it.

Speaker 1

I mean, it's not it's not just your it's not your fault.

Speaker 3

It's not just your fault.

I mean we went into it lacking research, we went into a little blind.

I suppose it's a little lazy and we're playing the price for it.

Speaker 1

It's kind of your fault.

I guess yeah.

Speaker 5

I mean I can't have but feel like it it is, you know, I know.

I hope you guys you get there.

Speaker 3

You know, I would like in that that podcast we did with you to the All Black second half the last time they played It's a shambalack.

No, it was really good, it was fantastic.

We've we've got it.

It's it's it's a real hum danger and one you certainly want to put on your your pod.

What do you do to people?

Sort of because we're rated I think two hundred and thirty six at the moment and the podcast ratings in is ND, which means does that mean perip to listen to two hundred and thirty five podcasts before they get to ours or can they go to ours any time they want.

Speaker 1

I think you have to listen to at least one episode of each of those two hundred and thirty five a podcast.

Speaker 5

They probably bit add this one to Q now on the queue.

Yeah, and then after about a week maybe it'll Christmas.

Speaker 3

This is a Christmas road trip.

Yeah, wear Christmas.

Speaker 1

Definitely have to start now because I think your episode is going to be out next Wednesday, Yeah, Wednesday morning.

Speaker 3

It's going to be a biggie, that one.

It's a biggie And if you're into film and TV and what's happening in that space, this is one you don't want to miss.

Speaking of Christmas, because you probably won't see you again before then.

What are you doing for Christmas?

Speaker 5

I'll be going down to Hamilton spinning with.

Speaker 3

My family because that's where you're from.

We found that out in the podcast today.

Speaker 1

That's right.

Speaker 5

And my mum loves Christmas like she really loves Christmas.

I think seven Christmas trees go up in the house.

Oh, yeah, nice, all kind of themes, the white one with all of the Royal Dalton stuff and then the big twelve foot family tree.

Everybody gets a little basket pull all the decoration.

Speaker 3

You've got the little ones that just go on a coffee table kind of thing.

Speaker 1

We got it all.

Speaker 3

Yep, yeah, you name it.

It's it's there.

Takes for your Christmas time?

Are you doing?

The ham and the turkey and the.

Speaker 5

And the chicken?

Yep, and the gravy, all of it, all of it.

Mum actually did bring it up.

She just thought, Jordan, do I have to do that this year?

I don't know if I can be bothered?

Does anybody care?

And I'm like, Mum, nobody really care.

Speaker 3

But she'll do it.

If you're just joining us, we're doing our Christmas special now because we don't think we'll be on air by then.

Speaker 1

Makes you're just looking at the podcast ratings at the moment, so we're just but if you hit Crochet today, you've gone too far.

So there are two hundred and forty seven actually, actually no, they've just jumped ahear of us.

Speaker 3

Yeah, but they came out on a different day than us.

That's a cracking blak they've been out longer.

Speaker 1

That's a good podcast.

Speaker 3

I'm back to the Christmas diner.

Do you do the lunch thing or the or the evening?

No lunch, Yeah, that's old lunch.

What's sort of late lunch?

Isn't it two o'clock?

Speaker 5

Well no, x mum kicks it off at about twelve thirty.

Speaker 3

Yeah, we have white meat in the morning, you know, sort of champagne, white beat beers, a pretty mammord by you know.

So we drags on a bit and it's not only about two o'clock for us, I think whatever, it's probably I think it's scheduled for about mid day, but it's about two o'clock, you know, because of logistics, you.

Speaker 5

Know, it's not really a boozy one at my at the family the family house, but I had one down in christ Church and then I realized that everybody else has a boozy Christmas and Jesus.

Speaker 1

Yeah, tell you what, if we put this in the podcast, it probably would have actually been not too bad.

Hindsights wa back, we can continue.

Speaker 5

You could use this stuff, put it in and then use that one as a Christmas special.

Speaker 1

We do that after this.

Speaker 3

Tell you what, mate, you know, because this is more than to our Christmas special.

And we've got Jordan here joining us, feeling looking very fastive as well for as functions a night for his film launch.

You know what, I don't care what the people set upstairs, the bosses.

I'm keen to give twenty five grand away anyway, So just give it away to the fifth caller.

Ah, fifth caller, Corn, now, n haraki if you want twenty five k corn?

Now, let's going to let's go to them, all right, come and call who's that?

Oh you Hayden?

Sorry?

Your first caller?

Who's Who's who?

Got next?

Who's this?

Speaker 5

Hello?

Speaker 3

Hello?

Who's that?

Speaker 5

Christy?

Speaker 3

Chrissie?

How are you going?

How's your weekend looking?

Speaker 1

Oh?

You know, pretty uh pretty chill cool?

Speaker 3

Sorry?

Your second caller, come and come and caller you're there, Come and call her?

Twenty five k hotline?

Who we got?

Speaker 2

Oh we got lemons?

Speaker 3

Get a mate?

Where are you?

Okay?

Speaker 2

Road man hitting back to the workshop.

Speaker 3

Okay, road mate, I bet you could do a twenty five grand.

But unfortunately their third caller, that's pretty close.

Speaker 4

Bugger all, Let's take one more.

Oh you know, come on, caller, Hello, get a who's this?

Speaker 3

Quig who Greg you mate, I'm sorry you're the fourth caller.

We're after the fifth caller, bugg mate.

Speaker 1

We've run out of time now, yeah, what did anyway?

Speaker 3

Yeah, there's no more.

We've run out of time unfortunately, go to another caller.

But we'll try that again next week the Big twenty five k give away.

What the admen we needed to know?

Speaker 1

I think we just play a song, get the hell out of us.

Speaker 3

Yeah, just a bit of an apology now before we have to do it.

Next week is the Big twenty five k giveaway.

I said we'll take the fifth caller.

We got through four callers.

Fortunately the fifth caller was the boss from upstairs and he overrode the whole thing.

So if we can't give it away.

Speaker 1

It's quite a clear loophole really because they technically we're the winner, but they've already got the money.

Speaker 3

Keeping it, yes, which is typical, typical big you know, big corporate, playing that card on us.

You know, we're just trying to keep the Keyi's happy and playing the big corporate card.

They've got heaps.

Speaker 1

Cash exactly, you know, unbelievable.

Speaker 3

We look, we look at it, we look, we look, you know, we look stupid.

Speaker 1

Now yep, well you certainly do.

It wasn't really my idea.

I was trying to distance myself from the whole situation.

Speaker 3

Yeah's apologies to everyone now, I hope you didn't need it that much.

But anyway, Hey Jordan, thanks for coming in and enjoy your film premiere tonight Into the Lake No terminal like Terminal Lake.

Speaker 5

Hey, thanks thanks having me I should I wish I had that twenty five k.

Speaker 1

And how can people check out your film Terminal Lake.

Speaker 5

Speaker 3

Just give us feedback.

Give us rating, help us to justin improve the show, including the show.

Speaker 1

A five star ready and then we might be able to leap frog Crochet today on the on the charts.

That's right, that'll be quite handy.

And then Jordan, we've got the podcast with you dropping next Wednesday.

You think the editing is going to be done by then.

Speaker 3

Well sure, we have to give Peter Jackson acorn and see when he can how quick he can do it.

Speaker 1

You know, we get Ai involved.

Speaker 5

That's what he's doing, right, PJ is doing it.

Yep, great, yeah, okay, turn me into a little Golm sort of creature on there.

Speaker 3

Well he's using all the bells and whistles to trying to make it, make it sing, you know, but you know if anyone can do it, he can, he'll do it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, all right, Well that's a wrap for Paid to Talk for another week.

But Angie is the next, looking after the taking the reins.

The big show aren't going to be on this afternoon, so Angie's.

Speaker 3
