Okay, yes, we know who we know who Herbert is, we know we know how they've written this character.

Right, But then all of a sudden he flips and he calls Chris a fat ass.

You get your fat ass over here, and yeah, he gets kind of demanding, like he's had enough, like he can only tolerate so more and get over here now or whenever.

Speaker 3

Yes, and thanks for thirty five months.

Speaker 1

Man, right, enough of that analogy.

Speaker 3

I just wonder where you were going with that I was finally looked up.

That's what I was doing.

Speaker 3

Oh I bought one of those.

Speaker 1

Speaker 2

I wish I could, I could, I wish I could stream outside like you?

Well, are you gonna take the band off that one?

Speaker 1

I gotta fire it up.

You don't fire up the paper because this is the end that you put your mouth on.

Speaker 2

Well, that must that must be a little drink.

Speaker 1

Yeah, hang on, hang on, I'm just gonna stop right there, because if I keep discussing this, you know what's gonna happen.

You're gonna get a mean that train that that train, that train is going to jump that track.

Speaker 3

And never never looked.

Speaker 1

Do you have a guest mail?

Speaker 5

Speaker 6

See you should have pH I know, I know they did show up in my travel Toool now, so that maybe something I change.

But yay mileages yea, I got so many miles with American though.

Speaker 3

So yeah, how many miles of we're sitting in the airport.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that that goes hours.

Speaker 3

No, that's not mile, but that's our.

Speaker 1

Hey, serious questions, because I've never had this happen to me.

You they oh wait, hang on, my phone just got activated.

No serious, not you serious question?

Do when you get there and you're hungover?

Now hungover?

Held over?

Does and it's their fault?

Do extra miles get go into your account as like a compensation?

Speaker 4

No?

Speaker 1

Really, And.

Speaker 6

There used to be a ruling place that if you were denied boarding like my flight out, they had to compensate you.

Speaker 3

There are new rules about that, and I do suggest that you look into them.

Speaker 1

There are new rules about it.

Yes, okay.

Does it vary between airlines or did the government say.

Speaker 3

Standardized at the last year stay at you.

Speaker 1

Haul you guys flat across the board.

Speaker 3

Yep, you bet you Dave.

Thanks for the two dollars super chat.

Appreciate it.

Speaker 1

Frank.

Speaker 6

I might have to set a fire alarm just for you.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Somebody pulled the fire alarm into the hotel last week.

Ew.

Yeah, that's gonna suck for you.

Editing the podcast, Oh god, was it live?

Speaker 3

Did you did catch you.

Speaker 5

While you were in the air?

Speaker 1

He got up and he wasn't wearing pants?

Speaker 3

Did he run?

Did he grab his laptop and run?

Speaker 6

He had this I left laptop in the hotel room and I went and got dinner.

Speaker 1

Smart.

His undershorts had something like on the back that said, you know some juicy juicy And I told him don't turn around because that mouse started.

Not come out of the house, come out.

Speaker 2

Of that hold.

Speaker 3

Anyway, you're right this ship.

Speaker 1

I didn't play radio, but because I wanted to do Yeah, because I wanted to do some family time I I I had.

I just wanted to Yeah.

I think by three o'clock they're like, hey, you still got a few hours a day, like go do some Yeah.

The time change was very interesting.

Speaker 3

I hated it.

Speaker 1

We got a we have right now.

We have a beautiful beaver moon outside right now.

It's unbelievable.

Speaker 3

It's a beaver moon.

Speaker 1

Well, don't ask me about a beaver.

Speaker 3

Like a super Like a super is about the supermoon.

That's sound right now.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but they call the beaver moon, and I don't know what the origin is.

Who that it's something it's on the rest.

Speaker 3

Of the world calls it the supermoon, So I don't know what they do.

Speaker 1

I think it's Well, then when I googled, it said the beaver and then all of a sudden something else came up.

And but I made sure.

I said, I gotta go go clean that cash months last night.

So last night I'm in the tent.

I'm watching prison Break, and I know I'm late to the party.

Boys, don't don't be throwing rocks.

Yeah, I didn't realize that thing is like ten twelve years old.

Yep.

I crossed into season two and and and it's kind of dragging for me.

I'm not paying attention to the weather and all of a sudden, the crack of lightning.

Oh now you know, Now you know I don't have a lot of hair on my head.

Yeah, I don't have a lot of hair on my head.

Speaker 7

But.

Speaker 1

It felt like it was starting.

Even though I do have a high and tight I felt I felt some electricity and I didn't like that feeling.

So I quickly show off the quickly shut off the propane.

She had the door open for me, and I just and I just went zing.

I just, I mean, I literally put the cigar in the ass tray and just kept on going.

I wanted to get inside the house.

The lights flashed a few times, and then ten minutes later it was over.

But scared the living daylights.

Yeah, plasm the storm.

Speaker 3

Thanks for the five dollars, super chest.

Speaker 1

May someone give no no, no, no, no, I got something.

I got some show.

Yeah, I got some two weeks ago and no no, no, no no.

But we're good.

So other than that, man, I'm just hanging out.

I'm gonna go to my first college football game coming this weekend.

Okay, kid, My daughters in the big band.

She she plays in the band, and we're going with the whole family.

I'm probably gonna be all geeked out with you know, university attire and ever.

So I don't think they're gonna allow me to just just smoke in the stadium.

But no, yeah, yeah, they.

Speaker 3

All can't college.

They might, they barely serve beer.

They're not gonna let you smoke anywhere.

Speaker 1

So this is what I did.

I did some recon in the college stadiums.

No, no, no, and even in the tailgating area.

It's very uh they how they write the wording is very crowd them.

No.

Yes, yeah.

Speaker 6

The largest college party, continuous college party, was this past weekend in Jacksonville, and I know there were kegs floated in the parking lot.

Speaker 1

Well, my kids better than not have been there.

My kids.

If I if I see a picture of my kids there, they're going to be in trouble.

Speaker 3

Oh, Florida, Georgia.

Speaker 1

Read it's no, I don't want to hear about it.

I don't want to hear about it, all right.

Speaker 3

The plasma plasma setting is straight here.

According to the Weather Channel, the Beaver moon is the second of three consecutive supermoons in three consecutive months.

Speaker 1

Ok.

Speaker 3

Why do they call it the beaver I don't know.

Speaker 1

And then and then tomorrow night it's going to be another full moon, full thing.

But it's amazing.

I can see my entire back.

It's amazing.

The whole neighborhood because of that full moon, because of the what do you call that, the aluminiums the not the aluminums illumination.

It's just so bright, it's just amazing.

Lumens, right, lumens.

Yes, you're right, you're good.

Speaker 3

I'm just I'm just giving you ship.

Speaker 1

I'm trying to be careful.

I'm trying to think before I speak.

Speaker 3

Oh god, we'll be here all night.

Speaker 1

That's it over.

Speaker 2

Well, I was, I was doing okay, so as I was started talking about that college stuff.

Speaker 3

Oh that's right, you get you news.

Speaker 2

Well, it just made me realize my youngest is in the high school van, which, oh never mind, I'm good.

He's he's probably not going to college, so I have any reason to go unless I'm being paid a lot of money to go to a college football game.

Speaker 1

I told my kids to go into the military.

Nobody wanted to listen to me.

The military will feed you, travel you, educate you, and beat the living crap out of you.

Yeah, but still, that's part of living that you have to you have to learn.

Speaker 3

I would rather wait a few years before my buddy's completely beat up.

Speaker 2

Well, talking about that, I keep I keep doing, bouncing the idea to the to the youngest one about joining the military.

And he come home the other day from school and I talked to an Air Force recruiter that was at the school and I was like, perfect, you get to play games.

Speaker 3

There will be a drone pie.

Speaker 1

He was like, yeah, you know what they do, Joe Brett.

They mentioned that word right now, Minecraft, and right away that's an attention getter.

It's like for us, you say yaggy, you say you know, you say you know, you say something hand rate or related.

What's the first thing we do?

Do do do?

Do you know?

We go like that.

These kids you say minecraft and you say other things like to that or or or call of duty and right away, man, you yeah, you say six seven man, you you get their attention right away.

And that's how they bring them in.

And they're right.

I'm sure the mil I listen, listen, listen.

I know nothing about military systems right now, but I'm sure that there's a few buttons, a joystick, and a monitor involved, and these kids are going to get it.

These kids are going to get it a lot faster than us, you know right now because you only because the only because the only joystick we knew was was a five speed to me.

That's you know, that was my joystick.

Well sort of.

Speaker 2

Well anyway, moving on, so like I don't know many of y'all might have got this or already have you know, he catching you, uh Christmas catalog again.

Speaker 1

Mine came in the Melton.

Speaker 3

I subscribed to the electronic version because I don't like to kill trees.

Speaker 2

Well I didn't ask for neither one of them.

So okay, anyway, this front page opened, this front page linko.

You see that m and I'm like browsing over that.

I'm like, holy crap, why is nobody talking about this little radio?

Oh it does all the digitals and like, this is amazing.

Five hundred dollars and then five and then I pull it up and it's just a receiver.

And that's why nobody's talking about.

That's how it gets you.

It's got it's got USB C and then it's got all the D M R D c r uh Kenwood's n xdn D star you know.

And I'm like, there's no way, and yeah, there's no way, there.

Speaker 3

Is no.

Speaker 1

It has to in my Joe Bratt, I agree for that.

The amount of money, you better you better have a PTT boting on there, I fully agree.

Speaker 2

Yeah, oh no, I mean if it had a PTT, that would be a sixteen eighteen hundred plus radio.

Speaker 1

With all that.

Speaker 2

But anyway, besides that, I didn't do a whole lot over the weekend.

My wife's kind of getting into some crafts.

She's got her a business partner and a little booth that they set up at a local store.

Speaker 3

And is should need laser and graves stuff.

Speaker 2

Well, I'm finally hardly keep I keep sending her all these laser advertisements that I get because I've been getting tons omer since Shane keeps talking about as lazer ah, and I'll just send him to her own Facebook, you know, I'm like, so what you can make?

So he's set us up on the kitchen table because there ain't no room in the shack.

M I like to get one of those big conveyor builtings.

Oh yeah, I'm six seven thousand dollars.

Speaker 1

Jized, Well we can, we can get that GOV ideals, Joe Brett, You and I are always seeing a lot of cool stuffing.

In fact, they had helicopters on there last week, and I'm thinking how cool would the hand radio clubhouse helicopter be?

But then but then again, no disrespect to beer snack.

You know what.

You know what he's gonna say.

Speaker 3

Spend money.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the calculator.

No, the coculut says zero zero.

I just paid Iszold's ransom?

Speaker 8

No, now there's an overdraft fee.

Speaker 1

Joe bred is there like a virtual store?

Is it actually a brick and mortar place?

What do they are?

Speaker 2

They kind of like, yeah, you know, uh well, I don't know if you know what north but uh but it's one of these.

But everybody's the people rent boosts inside.

Speaker 1

Just yeah, we have them up here, little little markets.

Yeah, we're not backwards, you know, up here in the Northeast, we were really not in the dark, you know we Yeah, no, seriously, I have literally we have literally the one literally a mile from my house.

And I love going in there.

I love going in there.

It's it's it's.

Speaker 3

Fun, David says the potocop.

Speaker 1

The photocop.

Yeah no, because I was thinking, Joe Brad, if if we could sneak in like a hand raider clubhouse sticker somewhere, you know, that might help drum up some sales.

Speaker 2

We're probably right go by sneak I mean months it takes her to notice.

Yeah, exactly, on the back of all products.

Speaker 1

That'd be funny, huh.

Speaker 3

With a QR code to scan scan this you win something.

Speaker 1

What do you imagine, Joe Brett, imagine your sticker on all that stuff, like on the bottom of things.

Wouldn't that be great?

Everyone's taking home a Joe Brett something of everybody.

Yeah, that's right, that's that's that's it.

I noticed that it's getting dark in some parts of the world.

I see that.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, that's talking about that sucks, man, I can't get home before dark anymore.

Headlight's coming on.

Speaker 3

Yes, sun sunrise tomorrow is six forty nine, and it sounded like five five forty five today.

Speaker 1

It's terrible just because of the hour difference.

Yea, no way, I think I answered my own.

It's just it's it's I'm not gonna ask that question because that's stupid, because I think I know my answer, all right.

Speaker 3

Look at his old thinking.

I know, I'm so proud of him.

Speaker 1

Why was there smoke coming up?

Exactly?

Because I'm thinking, like, when it gets dark here at four thirty, you have to wait for your four thirty or is it your five thirty or but it's all relevant because of how the earth is turning right.

Speaker 3

Worse fear.

Speaker 2

To what you're saying.

Yeah, what you're saying is so like the first time we went out to see the Sixes in Texas, our first time to Texas, and we're We're going down the road in Burns truck and I'm looking after my youngest son back home.

Sends me a message of picture and it's pitch black dark at home here, but we're going down the road in Texas and I can still see all the way across to the horizon, right.

It's it's still a little a little bit line.

It messed with my mind there for a little bit because I'm like, we're in the same time zone, but we just six hundred miles away, so Texas state that that big shadow hatting caught up with us.

Speaker 3

Well, I don't have much to contribute either.

I had some family stuff over the last few days to take care of, so we got that sorted out, and I got a balloon event coming up this weekend, hopefully the Wednesdays away.

I know, right, I've had I've had some time off and this will be the last one for quite a while.

So I'm glad it's winding down because I'm worked out.

Are they still working?

Sorry, squirrels.

They're building.

They're building.

Across the street from me.

There's these they put this two little strip centers in and they've been building them like crazy.

And they get there at six o'clock in the morning and they stay until eight fifty nine or seven fifty nine because at eight o'clock the ordinances they got to shut it down.

And man, they pushing it to the day.

Speaker 4

They was.

Speaker 3

They was out there at eight o'clock on a Sunday, and I was like, don't you fire anything up.

We got ten o'clock.

Speaker 1

They're going for that bonus and get it done early.

Yeah, And you tell them Sunday is Church.

Sunday is church day.

Speaker 3

They need to go talk to Jesus is what they.

Speaker 1

Need to do.

It's the day of and you ask for forgiveness and that kind of resets everything for yeamn for Sunday night.

Monday.

Speaker 3

We're almost at twenty five minutes and we got a guest.

Speaker 1

Is absolutely bring them drag.

Speaker 2

Some of y'all may realize that one of my ultimate two meters simplex golds is to go from North Mississippi Simplex to Mexico.

I want to talk pretty close.

Uh and it yet so North Misissippi ain't happening.

But anything know down are on the coast or up around Dallas and up to there.

Speaker 3

You gotta have a y for that.

Speaker 2

Yeah, as I was with some power and some direct.

Speaker 1

Interrupt, don't interrupt, bright, let him talk.

Speaker 2

Maybe go try try some d X.

Speaker 6

I was gonna say, looks like the folks in Jacksonville can almost hip me.

Speaker 1

Anyway, Joe, Joe Brat, what is your longest contact regardless of compass directions?

What is your LONGESTO meter?

Speaker 2

Oh, we just went over this a few weeks ago.

Is uh three or something?

Speaker 1

Okay, I'm sorry, I wasn't bad, that's not bad.

Speaker 2

Okay, just under five hundred.

It was North Mississippi to Kansas, and I was using a fourteen element yeaggy with three hundred what And he.

Speaker 1

Was all right, ready, ready, you like that?

Ready ready.

Speaker 2

The receiving station was in Kansas was using like a stacked I don't know how many elements he had, but.

Speaker 1

He had the bigger station, so he was doing the heavy stack.

Yeah, bring up that diagram again.

Speaker 3

We're never gonna live that down, don't bring that.

Speaker 1

Don't bring that thing up again.

I wanted to see the dike.

Speaker 2

Sorry, wrong subject.

All right, guess.

Speaker 3

I'm moving and I'll bring our guests in, and so I'm gonna let you kind of take the shold.

But welcome, my friend.

Let me do some drink, some clicking and drag.

Speaker 5

Nicely done, nicely done.

Hello, gentlemen.

Speaker 3

Hello, some mountains back there, but it is gone.

Speaker 1

Now, it's dark over there.

What happened?

Speaker 5

Yeah, stuff happens.

It's that time you were talking about.

Speaker 1

What region are you in?

What call sign region are you in?

Uh?

Speaker 4

Seven seven?

I'm in the Vegas area.

Okay, excellent, got it kind of out in the desert.

You know where the mob comes out and buries all the bodies.

Speaker 5

That's where we're staying.

Speaker 1

We know your shoulder.

What I have to testify in front of the congress a congressional committee.

I'm just going to say I know nothing about that.

Speaker 4

So dog keeps digging stuff up out here, and I'm like, leave it, leave it.

Speaker 5

It's not our business.

Speaker 1

Mike.

What's the weather like right now?

I don't know.

Speaker 4

It might have gotten below seventy degrees right now.

It's been getting up around eighty for a high.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Down in the forties at night.

It's nice, terrible, yeah, nice.

Speaker 1

So listen, uh, I found I found Mike and if you are no, but he's been on the man's been on YouTube for four years now, maybe a little bit longer.

I want everyone to consider subscribing and watching his stuff.

It is a plethora of I used the big word and and and I made sure I said it correctly too.

I didn't add any extra syllables by accident.

Speaker 3

You get it out your computer.

Speaker 1

No, I don't, no, because I every time I go say that word, I think of phlem and it's not flem.

It's see Now I'm gonna screw it up.

God done.

Don't make see this happens.

Watch this man's watch this man's channel.

Subscribed to his channel, hit that bell as well as put him in your hammeler because he is doing stuff all over the United States.

He's gonna make it jealous.

In the next sixteen minutes or so, you are going to get jealous of some of these adventures.

Speaker 4

Inspired inspired, and they.

Speaker 1

Will inspire you.

Different modes, camera angles.

He's using camera ruhs to tell his story of what he is doing in the hobby to promote am.

I right, Mike, is that a Is that a good opening?

That's right, That's right, that's right.

All right, Mike, just tell everybody a little bit about yourself.

So who, what and why?

Speaker 4

Okay, her name is Mike Hopkins.

I got into ham radio back in UH.

I got interested in about twenty eighteen.

I started perusing around YouTube and learning things about it.

Ended up starting studying about fall of twenty eighteen, and UH planned on taking my technician exam in February of twenty nineteen.

Speaker 1

Uh.

Speaker 4

But but here's a little less for you.

I got my test date and time off the a double RL website, and they had the date and time for the Wichita Amateur Radio Club Great Club in Kansas, my home club.

But they had the date of the test listed as two slash twenty eight, right, February twenty eighth.

So that's my date.

That's what I'm studying for, February twenty eighth.

Right around the tenth, I start thinking, you know, I need to look on their own website and I need to double check and make sure ARL's got that right right.

Speaker 5

Nah.

Speaker 4

They had given the test two days ago in February height instead of the twenty eighth, So they had a scout.

Speaker 5

I don't know what they do now, but they had a schedule.

Speaker 4

At that time where they they do the second I think it was the second Friday of every even month.

Speaker 5

So now I'm out.

I'm out.

Speaker 1

So that was your entry.

So so you want to get your entry, your first, your first life right right right.

Speaker 4

So at that point, you know, I just said screw it and put it away for for a week.

Speaker 5

And then I thought, but you know what I could do.

Speaker 4

I could study from my general two and get both of that, get both of those done, which ended up being a great move.

And I was able to test for both those in April and and and past those both.

I didn't try for the extra I wasn't gonna put myself through that.

But I got the general right away, and that was good because I would have I probably would have waited too long before I got my general.

And I was able to jump in HF right away.

And that's that's really what works for me.

Speaker 1

Good is HF.

Speaker 4

The places I'm staying VHF and UHF.

There's not a lot of things happening.

Speaker 5

I'm learning.

Speaker 4

I'm trying to learn satellite.

I haven't been able to do much of that lately.

But that's that's one way I can get into the VHF UHF game and I actually talk to people.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, I'm here for Robert, I was say, our friend digital ranchery, he's one of he's one of the few good mentors.

I would say, absolutely.

Speaker 4

Absolutely, And uh, you know, I've met him and quite a few others, and all the people in the YouTube community are exactly like you would expect them to be.

Speaker 1

I haven't.

Speaker 4

I haven't met a phony out there yet, although this group, I've only met Shane.

Speaker 1

So you're saying what you're saying, I'm just.

Speaker 5

Saying what you think, what you think they are, that's what they are.

Speaker 1

There are no there are no lies, are no filters, there's no this is it?

Speaker 4

This is it that I haven't noticed any It's like your drivers, it's like your driver's license.

Speaker 1

It's not lying.

Speaker 2

Right.

Speaker 4

So the interesting thing that kind of happened along that way while I was going through that whole studying process is my wife and I were discussing our vacation plans for twenty nineteen, okay, and we had just bought a pop up camper the previous summer.

So, uh, she loves research and stuff.

She loves getting online and research and stuff.

So I was like, why don't you research where we could get to and where we could vacation if we took two consecutive weeks off this summer.

You know, we had taken it out camping over the weekend, just at our local state parks.

And you know, you show up Friday night, you get set up, you can enjoy Saturday.

Sunday morning, you got to get up and tear down and take it.

Speaker 1

All back home.

Speaker 4

You get one day, right, Yeah, so you know, we thought they're not getting a whole lot out of that.

Let's let's let's go somewhere and take some time.

So I set her off to research that.

Okay, be careful if you ever do that.

Speaker 1

This is this is no, it's not because guess what, because let her think it's her idea as well as as well as when the when when all the costs come in, who cares?

Because she approved, she approved it.

Called that's called happy marriage advice number nine.

Yeah, that's number.

Speaker 4

That's good advice.

And make them think it's their idea.

Yeah, that's right, that's what happened.

So she she came back to me a couple of weeks later and she says, you know, I've been looking into this a little bit and I found there's a lot of people that go out and do this.

They'll take long term, these long term vacations and they don't come back.

And I just sat there and thought about that for a minute.

I'm like, yeah, I could do that.

We were we were just both we were just both at that stage in life where we're like, yeah, you know, I enjoyed the job that I was in.

I was I was a designer for a local landscaping nursery in west Wichita.

We did design and install, so I designed landscapes and sold them.

That's what I was doing at the time, and I enjoyed it.

But I got to the point where I couldn't really grow anymore.

I was I was selling my butt off, but the company just didn't want to grow anymore.

So, you know, pays based off commission.

You know, there's only so much I can do now.

So I sat there for a couple of years thinking, yeah, I don't know.

And then when we got a way out.

Speaker 1

We were we were both ready for it, and I gotta stop because you made an interesting comment.

That's something you say in the exit interview.

You don't want to enter you you don't want to insult them.

I you know, but really, are you thinking, I want to go play radio.

I want to get out there, I want to see America and I want to go set up an antenna and a radio.

Is there like an underlying thing of say, hey, listen, you guys have been great.

I love working for you, but I need to I need to do my next chapter of my life.

And you know, I saw God bless you guys and we'll see you later.

Was it?

Was it as simple as that, because I understood that, yeah, yeah, or some places are going to start throwing you money on another incentives for you to stay a little longer.

Speaker 4

Well I got that too, but I was like, no, no, I appreciate that.

But I must have handled it right because they said, well, actually, you ever come back, if you ever come back, you know, you know, let us let us know so so.

But that was six years ago, you know, so.

Speaker 1

But but you had a pop up, that's what you started.

But you start off with a pop up though.

Speaker 4

Right, yeah, yeah, obviously we're not going to get too far with that.

But our plan was to we just started selling everything.

We started selling everything, and which was tough when we're trying to kind of keep things secret.

You know, we're not trying to tell a whole lot of people that we're going to make this transition until we are.

Speaker 5

Really, really, really ready.

Speaker 4

And you know, we had we had to think about it for a while ourselves.

My kids at the time were what I say, twenty nineteen.

The kids were six and nine, so you know, it's hard to know with kids at that age are they serious about it?

Speaker 1

So so what we did.

Speaker 4

Wife had been ordering all kinds of supplies and things from Amazon, of course, and we had this these huge box is that we'd been getting like toilet paper and paper towels and things like that, you know, stuff they can send in a really big box.

And the kids really pumped about this idea.

They thought it was great.

Uh, you know, hey, I don't have to go to school, you know, Mom and dad will teach me everything.

Speaker 5

This is gonna be great.

Speaker 4

And okay, we've got to see if they're serious.

So here's this box, this enormous box.

All the toys, everything that you've got in your room cannot come with us on this journey, you have to get rid of most of it, you know.

So we gave them that little taste of reality.

Here's this box.

You got to fill this box of toys that you're ready to get rid of.

Mommy's gonna sell it on Facebook marketplace and you get the money.

Speaker 1

You know.

Speaker 4

So when we get things to you know, to help you traveling and things while we're traveling, you know, you'll have some money that you can buy some things, but you're gonna have to get rid of most of your stuff.

Speaker 5

It cannot come.

You know, we're gonna get But.

Speaker 1

Did the kids tell you that?

But did they tell you the same thing too?

What's fair?

What's good for?

Speaker 4

I was I was on board.

I was on I love I love the idea getting it all.

Speaker 1

I love this idea.

I love this idea.

Yeah.

Speaker 4

So they I came back from work the next day and this box was heaping full of toys that they were wanting to get rid of that they.

Speaker 5

Had that they had put in there.

Speaker 4

And I said, that's great, you know, we'll probably do it again.

Speaker 5

They're like, okay, sure whatever.

Speaker 4

So two days later my wife had them all sold and that box was full again of toys that they want to.

They were, they were seriously, I think we're actually going to do this.

This is actually this is actually gonna happen.

Speaker 5

This is gonna happen.

Speaker 1

Uh.

You know.

Speaker 4

So then at that point, we you know, we'd start at least, you know, I gotta like, I gotta tell my boss.

Okay, well I'm leaving, you know, coming up in June.

He's like, well, why, well, I can't tell you because I haven't told any family yet.

We're not ready to tell them.

But you know, I'm not going anywhere else.

You know, I'm not working for anybody else.

You know, I just can't tell.

You're just you're just gonna have to trust me.

Thankfully, they trusted me a lot.

They were a good company to work for and uh excellent.

And by October of that year, we had sold the house.

We took all the cash from that from that sale and tucked it away.

We we and then we went shopping.

Then we got to get Now we've got to replace the truck.

We got to replace our little camper that we've only owned for a year.

You got to upscale to get get something that we can that we can travel in.

So we started that whole journey in October of twenty nineteen.

We drove down.

The weather got really cold.

There's a real bit or cold that came through that.

You're right before Halloween.

So we just started driving south and shopping as we went south.

We found our truck and outside of Oklahoma City, we ended up trick or treating in some town south of Dallas.

There's a Jellystone campground down there, somewhere south of Dallas.

Speaker 5

We ended up.

It doesn't sound right, but it's somewhere like that, but you know.

Speaker 4

And then we started looking for a camper down there, and uh, it got one right before Thanksgiving.

I bought one in Woodville, over in eastern Texas, drove it up to UH and drove it back home, drove everything back home.

Uh through UH we went through.

I went through Dallas on the way back home.

That's the last time I've pulled this rig through a major city like that.

And it was empty and it was empty.

That was that was the nightmare.

My first time toning RV and I pulled it through Dallas.

Was it at least at night?

Speaker 1

Oh?

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, I was a Friday.

Why everyone?

Speaker 1

Why because I don't Yeah.

Speaker 4

It's there's no big loop around Dallas at least that I could find the middle.

Yeah, and then there's eight different exits you gotta you gotta take to get to the direction that you're wanting to GOA is nightmare.

Speaker 1

It is a nightmare.

But uh then we too.

Speaker 4

Then we took the whole rig out to uh Phoenix between the holidays, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we had a guy install our solar panels and new batteries and the inverter and all that good stuff.

Got that done.

We had left our pop up down in Texas.

After Christmas, we drive back down to Texas and the Woodville area, sell the pop up or renovating the r V.

Speaker 5

Doing all this stuff.

We bought all.

Speaker 1

These Ikea furniture.

Speaker 4

We got a toy hauler and converted the garage in the back where you keep you know, people normally put in motorcycles or or side by side or something like that.

We converted that into the kids room.

We're building installing furniture there.

And right around the end of February we hit it.

We're like we're done, We're ready to go.

It's March first, twenty twenty.

Everything is perfect, everything is happy.

Let's go let's go adventure.

We got about two weeks yeah, yeah, and then everything and then everything hit, But even that worked out pretty well.

We ended up hiding out for that first two week period in southwest Georgia.

It was some It was a wildlife management area, is the place that guys would camp and go hunting.

So we camp for that first ten days of the of the two week period there.

It was actually a PoTA park.

I didn't know much about that at the time, but I thought that'd be the first time I'd try to put.

Speaker 5

Up my my my.

Speaker 4

Fan die poll and get the radio out and try to make a contact.

Speaker 1

I did.

Speaker 4

I got my first contact there back to back to Texas and uh it was actually I didn't know it.

It was actually kind of a PODA activation.

But from there we ended up we ended up hiding out at my dad's house in southwest Virginia and because there wasn't hardly any COVID up there at all.

Yeah, and we stayed there for three four five months something like that.

It was.

Speaker 1

It was a while.

Speaker 4

We stayed there most of that summer, which was great because my kids didn't know him.

He didn't really know my kids.

He was he was old enough that you know, traveling was was tough, was getting really tough.

Uh So we hadn't come out and visited too much.

Didn't really know my kids the personalities at all.

And you know, staying there for three four months through COVID, they got pretty tight.

Speaker 1

So that was that was singing.

I'm seeing a lot of good silver lining.

Yeah yeah, yeah, so I love this.

Speaker 4

We get there at that time and we're set up in my dad's driveway.

You know, we've got mobile living, we've got online jobs, we've got kids doing homeschooling, and the whole rest of the world now is trying to figure out exactly what we've been going through for the last years.

How how are we going to do this?

And we were sitting we were sitting right there, set up perfect the whole right right right, Yeah, we were We were led to that spot.

Speaker 1

Goad and that was amazing.

So I got I.

Speaker 4

Spent my first field day there at my dad's house and got ten or twelve contacts, you know, my first real bunch of contacts, and really started getting into actually operating at that point.

I tried a few uh a few podas on my way.

Speaker 1

Uh.

Speaker 4

We we started heading back across the country in the fall, and I tried some my first PODA in Kentucky right right on the Mississippi River, got my first activation there, and just sort of dabbled for a little bit until we started traveling in twenty twenty one and hitting a lot of parks out in the mess Mountain western part of the States.

And that's really when I started, when I really started getting going on the activation stuff.

Speaker 3

And I went to your Currez page and I'm just the pictures and everything.

Go look him up on Curaz by the way, uh, the pictures of all the places that you've played PODA.

I am one thousand percent jealous.

Speaker 1

That is so usually hit the lower forty eight.

I was.

Speaker 3

I wasn't far from from Lone Star guys or when we were at Yellowstone, and I didn't think about about leaving, taking the radio out of camp and going out to some of those places.

Speaker 1

But man, that's a great one.

Speaker 5

That's okay.

Speaker 1

It only goes off every three hours.

Speaker 4

So most people hike out there, and they just hope they get lucky, you know, because they only want to sit there for a half hour or so, and then they're gonna turn around and go back well, heck, I'm just gonna go there and set up my radio.

I can kill all the time I want.

I'm going to see this guy go off because he's like old reliable.

It's it's just not as frequent.

It's it's not as frequent, but it's it's more impressive, and you can get a lot closer to him.

Speaker 3

I'm gonna throw this out.

Speaker 1

I want to throw this out.

I want to throw this out to everyone who's listening because if you if you enjoy going to the National Parks or or any of this stuff, you'll find a lot of documentaries out there.

But you got to watch Mike's videos because he shows you a different angle, a different perspective, not only the Ham Radio stuff.

Like I was watching his stuff from Arcadia What's up in Maine US zero zero zero one, And he's talking about the title polls and this and that, where you can go see stuff, you know, you know, see life.

It's the little things that sometimes we just overlook that you just come in activate the park, look around, take a few pictures, look, you know, maybe look for some wildlife or whatever, and then you get the hell out of here.

But this guy really shows you America are playing on it.

It's I said, very very cincerely, Mike.

You you do such an incredible job that some of these documentary companies should really be hiring you if you want another job un available, Yeah, exactly, Well then you can use you can use Clubhouse as a reference.

Okay, all right, Okay, maybe maybe you wait a bit.

Speaker 3

It is nice because you know, everyone does pode a differently, and I like the fact that people go out.

Some people go out and show the show off a little bit of radio, but a lot of the park, you know, the reason why you chose this place and why you know what what there is to see there.

So it's it's kind of like a cross between a travel vlog and m radio between what I'm really enjoyable to watch.

Speaker 4

What I have found that gets me really excited is once I got away from the parking lots and the picnic tables, uh and even and even away from the truck.

You know, at first I was I was driving to some pretty cool places to activate and uh, you know, I started doing that at Grand Canyon, where I drove to one of the overlooks and I'm like, okay, I'm going to activate Grand Canyon in twenty twenty one.

I don't want to be sitting in a parking lot somewhere, you know, I want to be looking at the Grand Canyon.

Speaker 5

So I mean, I set up right.

Speaker 4

On the edge and unfortunately I wasn't doing YouTube yet at the time, but you know, I sat there and I'm looking at the sunset over Grand Canyon for you know, two three hours.

I'm like, yeah, this, this is this is how I want to how I want to do that.

And as soon as I got it to the next level to where I got equipment that I can put in a pack like I got the I got an eight nine to one before I was using the The Kinwood T.

Speaker 5

S four was the first radio.

Speaker 1

I was just tind to ask you, what was that your first radio?

Speaker 5

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4

I actually bought it for a guy in a gun club.

I was in an IDP a club when I when I was going through all this transition, I just happened to mention to this guy who was an electrician.

I just happened to mention to him that I was studying for my hand license and he's like, that's great, I'm a ham and he's like, don't buy any equipment don't buy any equipment.

I got some stuff that I'll sell you.

And he basically basically just let me name a price.

And I'm like, oh there, earl, I haven't I haven't done.

Speaker 1

You know, back in the day, back in the nineties, cause that was the Cadillac guys.

That was really that four forty.

Because I had a TS one thirty, there was a one twenty one thirty, and then the one forty came out.

But then all of a sudden, guys who like to kind of show off, I got the four forty, y know, and it became like this elite rig that you know would sometimes show up at a field day and you couldn't wait to sit down and opt out.

It was a very uh it was a very cool radio your episode.

So when I saw your video on that, I'm like, good, you got the experience that that beautiful audio that Ken would four forty had some really really nice not too basic, but I always said Ken would always do.

Their audio was always nice for a while.

Speaker 4

Yep, I need to do some work on it.

It's got the dreaded Dots thing going on right now, right, so I gotta get that.

I gotta get that tank care of it's it's it's riding along in the r V right now, and it's it's dead weight at this point because I don't use it, and that's not a good.

Speaker 1

Thing in our r V.

Speaker 4

You're gonna get you're gonna go, Yeah, you'll get used.

Speaker 1

Yeah, bunch of ticket yep.

But you know.

Speaker 4

The next step I took then was once I once I got the eight nine to one and I can fit everything in a backpack.

Now I'm hiking down trails.

Changed took.

That took It's a whole new level.

The first one I did like that was it was a delicate arch at Arches National Park, another great one.

Yes, and I'm like, okay, I gotta And that was one that was kind of a puzzle to figure out, you know, because if you've ever been up there, there's there's a lot of people, there's a lot of problems in how to set up up there.

And that was just a really cool that was a really cool activation, like all right, this is this is how I want to do this.

Speaker 1

Now.

Speaker 4

If you're one of those people and you like to set up in a parking lot, you're running your vehicle, you're running on a picnic table, I'm all for it.

Whatever whatever gets you going, don't let me don't let me pa poo anyway that any of you out there, Okay, whatever gets you out and runs great, that's right, right, that's right.

Speaker 1

This is just look, this is just what really.

Speaker 5

Got me going.

Speaker 4

And uh and that's that's what that's what keeps me going.

Speaker 1

So now, antanna wise, let's talk about antennas.

Okay, what did you tell everybody?

What did you start off with?

Now, as you get your license and you start playing and you're playing in different situations, you might need different antennas.

Uh, tell us about your antenna choices.

Speaker 4

Okay, all right, Well, when I was when I started actually you know, getting serious about operating and doing a lot of PoTA activations.

My first intendent was the Wolf River Coils, so it had you know, I got the was the Silver Bullet one thousand and uh with the shorter whip.

It was like a seven or eight foot whip.

And that's that's what I ran with for a while.

And I tell you, I've been doing a lot of verticals ever since.

I have gotten an infed halfwave uh, and I have used it with some success.

But I tell you, I really like the verticals.

Now I'm now I've got the I've I've transitioned to the chameleon seventeen foot whip.

I don't use the coils too much.

I'm usually twenty meters in higher and I've I use it all over the place.

I use it up high, I use it down low.

I use it in the mountains, I use it on the beach.

I use it in urban areas.

You know, I've used it at the Arch in downtown Saint Louis.

I've used it here in downtown Vegas.

You know, you want to talk about a city that's got some noise, some electrical noise, you know, And that's what they're supposed to be bad at, is picking up picking up local noise.

Speaker 1

I was just going to ask you.

Speaker 4

I've used it everywhere, and I just love it.

Speaker 1

And do you think because of the multi because you're you're because of see, you're operating totally different than me.

That's what I find so exciting for me.

But also to your ground, your ground conduct conductivity is gonna be different than me.

And here in the Northeast, and so I envy got I envy the other parts of the country.

But it sounds like because that vertical can do many things for you.

It sounds like.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, and I don't I don't tune it any different.

I've used it in Maine and Arizona and Washington and Florida and everything in between.

Speaker 5

I've never changed.

Speaker 1

How are you Are you using a spike in the ground?

Are you using a little tripod?

What do you kind of I've got.

Speaker 4

I've stuck with the Wolf rivercoils tripod okay, and then with that, I've got some sandbags that I use that I throw on the legs.

Speaker 1

I saw those.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that that weighs it down.

I don't have to guy anything.

I don't have to steak anything.

I don't have to put anything in trees.

And that's all pretty important for the type of places that I like.

Speaker 1

Amazon guy sixteen dollars and there's a link.

There's a link on a channel corect for all that stuff.

Speaker 4

And I can use that intenta literally everywhere.

And you know, I oftentimes don't know what I'm going to be encountering when I set up my station, and it just always works.

Speaker 1

Now, can you ever operate from me?

Wire?

Speaker 5

Go ahead?

Speaker 1

Now?

So, now do you ever go and operate from inside the camper and does that intend to change?

Do you are you amount off amount off a ladder or at the top?

What do you do differently if anything?

Speaker 4

Well, you know the embarrassing thing that I have to wear pants about about about the r V, which I love only call the eight ton Radio Go Box.

Speaker 1

Yes, correct, I love it is that.

Speaker 4

I mean imagine you're building to go box, right, and you and you think of everything that you wanna that you want to put in it to sup your radio operations, and you just feel it with all kinds of amazing, awesome stuff.

And you get done and you open it up and you realize there's no radio in here, and it's and it's totally full.

Speaker 5

That's kind of what happened with the r V.

And I've not had.

Speaker 4

Any space until very recently to to set up for myself because remember, I'm not I'm not like uh te o.

You know, I don't have an office up front all to my own.

You know, I'm sharing three hundred square feet with four people and a dog.

There's not a lot of personal space.

And part in question, what kind of dog Cocker spin there?

Speaker 1

You are?

Speaker 2

Okay, Cocker spe.

Speaker 5

The greatest travel dog.

Speaker 4

I think anybody has ever had that dog has a bladder of iron.

Speaker 1

Good better, better, better than the kids, right.

Speaker 5

Better than the adults.

Speaker 4

I mean yeah, I mean even when she was a puppy, you know, we didn't hardly have to body train her at all.

She took no house training.

She just went when we took her outside, and that's all there ever was too.

And it was three hours, four hours, eight hours whatever.

She just waited to it, went outside.

Speaker 1

And so getting back to antenna, yeah, a wolf river a tripod.

So now you're piecing together your vertical to meet and then as well as different ideas that you have right with Brown radios, any any Tharaday?

I was watching Michael Martin's with the New Chameleon.

Sure Faraday straps versus the Have you tried all of that?

Speaker 3

No, behind him.

Speaker 5

I haven't tried any of it.

Speaker 4

I never really got in with a Faraday cloth idea being from a windy climate like Kansas or Shane's not in his head from Texas.

Speaker 1

Boy.

Speaker 4

I just that one, that one never did really really sing to me.

So you know, I've just always had I had the original three thirty three foot radials that came with the Wolf of her coils.

Speaker 5

I decided to chop those into thirds.

Speaker 4

So now I have three bundles of three radios that are eleven feet long.

And that's that's worked great for me.

And again I take it all over the country and all different soils.

I never change a damn thing, and I don't have to get out my antenna analyzer to check anything.

I know where to put those.

Yeah, I know how many sections to collapse, and it works.

It just works.

I'm sure that stuff makes a difference, you know.

But to quote one of my favorite gun tubers, Paul Harrell, he says, but is it enough to make a difference.

Speaker 1

You be the judge, You the judge.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Yeah, and it's it just it just hasn't been.

Speaker 1

It just works, you think.

Yeah.

I think.

Speaker 3

Callum said that a couple of times, Like he was like, there's always a fight over how many radios you're supposed to have or how many are supposed to have, And he said, just put them out there because you're not going to notice a difference whether you have ten or whether you have twelve.

You won't notice the difference.

Speaker 1

As well, you won't write.

And one time he said, and I remember him saying this, if you can take if you had to put out let's just say, uh, six fifteen footers, but you can only do seven feet, cut them in seven and just put just add that extra seven to continue to go around.

Just just get them out there, regardless of the meal there.

Just get the metal penetrate the ground.

That's what that's what it's all about.

And then after that it's about propagation and everything else.

And you know, make it work.

Experiment, experiment.

Speaker 3

So are you saying they should be a ham and go play?

You have to.

Speaker 1

Have fun, have fun, that's right, that's right.

Hey, we're not allowed to use the word well we do.

We like to be dangerous around here, all right.

Like another topic, Mike, another topic we got to ask you now is loggings logging software.

Speaker 4

Oh okay, I've been on in three ft AP for a while.

Uh, and a lot of my adventures, I'm I'm literally got my little right in the rain, and I'm h and I'm doing things by hand, especially if i know it's not I'm not gonna get very many contacts.

There's some I know I'm only going for ten or twelve or something like that to just get it done.

But I'm I'm looking to transition to World Radio League.

So I'm gonna make that.

I'm gonna make that change here soon.

And the reason being there's so many good ones new and good new ones coming out now.

But but that's one that eventually, when they get everything going that they that they plan, you know, I'll be able to take it portable.

It'll be it'll be on my my base station here.

You know, I can access it from anywhere on You haven't tried that yet.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we've had him on here.

We we've had him on here.

We've had Yeah, we've had him.

We've we've had a sebastia from him to K Polo again as well.

I think again, I'm listen.

I I just adapted real well to Ham two K Polo.

Well, I will support it just like any But the bottom line is is find what works for you and use it.

Find that tool and whatever comes you easy, whatever meets your needs, just use it.

And it's listen, I look at this way.

I always have paper with me.

I could do it in my head, put it on paper.

But if you don't have to use the technology in front of us, use it as if like your last resort, you know, So I've got.

Speaker 4

Pollo as a backup on my phone right now.

It's it's it's slick, it's great to use.

It's just it's just a portable logger, you know.

And I and I want I want something that kind of does everything.

Speaker 5

So that's that's the way I'm going.

The direction I'm going.

Speaker 1

Any favorite feed line, anything that you like or you know or are you impartial to feed line or anything else?

You know.

Speaker 4

I've just been getting a br and uh and hooking it up.

I'm a pretty simple guy.

I don't I don't need to do anything too flashy or fancy.

Speaker 1

It works.

Speaker 5

I'm going for it.

Speaker 1

Abr.

I love to yep yep, yep.

Speaker 5

Yeah, you know.

Speaker 4

And the radio I run didn't have all the fancy stuff and features and the pretty colorful waterfalls and all that stuff.

Speaker 1

But you know, so right now you're so you're strictly all FT eight ninety one then right now?

Correct?

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, yeah, entirely.

And it's it does everything I need to do.

The stuff that everybody complains about really doesn't bother me.

My biggest complain about it actually is is the memory controls.

That's what I fumble through the most on that because I program it such that I've got the end of every band, you know, the end of every general portion of the band as a memory, So like twenty meters, I'll have fourteen to twenty five and fourteen three fifty And just operating and going through all that is still really clumsy for me, and I'm I'm constantly hitting wrong buttons and reprogramming channels instead of selecting them and tuning them.

And you know, that's my biggest complaint on it.

But like the menu system doesn't.

Speaker 1

Bother me at all.

Speaker 5

You know, all the stuff that everybody else complains about, I'm fine with.

Speaker 1

So you're using that for sideban yep, and then you go over to CW then right yep.

Speaker 5

At times, at times, what do you prefer?

Speaker 1

Or FT eight?

Do you have?

You?

Have you done the FT eight?

FT eight.

Speaker 4

I'm not entirely a fan of I don't have a problem with it, and I understand it's utility and why a lot of other people like it.

I just don't enjoy it that much.

I want that.

I want more of a keyboard to keyboard type of experience, which is one reason I'm trying to get into some of.

Speaker 1

These other digital modes.

Speaker 4

The JS eight call reddy PSK thirty one.

Speaker 5

You know, I'm trying to get.

Speaker 4

Into all those modes and and and try to grow some kind of community somehow and at least one of those modes.

So when we get down to you know, the lower solar cycle, which is what four five years ahead of us, you know, we have something other than CW and FT eight to use, you know, and I think that would do a lot of people a lot of good.

Speaker 1

I love CW.

Speaker 4

I'm slow as hell learning it, but I've got probably a thousand photo contacts in CW.

Speaker 5

Now, damn.

Speaker 1

That's good.

Though.

Man.

Speaker 4

Now that we've kind of slowed down our traveling a little bit, I'm gonna I'm going to refocus on some of that stuff to see if I can get a little bit better.

Speaker 1

So how did you learn CW.

I went through the Long Island c W Club.

Speaker 4

Yeah, okay, I did a lot of I did a lot of self study.

Speaker 1

A lot of people have done that long Yeah.

Speaker 5

And it's and they're fantastic.

Speaker 1

Uh.

Speaker 4

But I got through the alphabet and learning all that stuff in that club.

But then it seemed like, you know, I felt like I was doing pretty good in the classes compared to everyone else that was in there.

But then it seemed like they all had the ability to take it to the next level, and I didn't get it.

Speaker 5

Something still wasn't.

We were stuck, wasn't.

Speaker 1

Did you feel like you were stuck in a certain the box of it?

Yeah, I felt like I was.

Speaker 5

I was.

Speaker 4

I was keeping up in my in my classes and doing just as good as everyone else.

The next thing, I knew, everyone's moving everyone else is moving on.

Speaker 5

And I'm like, well, why why am I?

Why am I still stuck here?

Speaker 4

And I you know, I'd tried doing some other classes and they'd be deciphering words and phrases and things like that, and I could only get two or three letters at a time.

You know, I was kind of stuck at that point.

So, uh, you know, instant character recondition is still something I'm I'm working on, and uh and uh.

Speaker 5

That's that's kind of where I'm at right now.

And I've learned.

Speaker 4

I've learned one great tip is to really bump up the speed on the characters.

So I was doing what a lot of people did, twenty words per minute and then a lot of a lot of gap in between.

Right, But the the CW Innovations couple of people, uh, that that couple, I can't I can't think of their names right off the bat, darn it.

But you know they talked about thirty two words a minute with a lot of space.

And as soon as soon as I started listening to that and just identifying one letter at a time, that instant character recognition started happening a lot a lot better, and characters that were weak for me started getting better.

Speaker 1

Well still though, a thousand contacts, a thousand and that those those are PoTA, that's right, regardless, regardless, we'll call them on air community you know, contacts.

That's that's nothing to be you know, you know, that's very good in my book, that's very good.

Speaker 5

So yeah, I'm I'm happy with that.

Speaker 4

I just I just kind of want to move on, you know, and get get get a little bit better.

I've been sort of stuck here.

I can get the pudha, you know, exchange just fine.

I can get call signs pretty good.

But they'll start sending other letters and I'm like, I have no idea what you're saying right now.

You're you've you've you've left the script.

I have no idea, what's going on.

I'll go back and listen to the recording, and what they said was like, Hi, Mike, you know that's it right, It's just high Mike.

Speaker 5

And that was enough.

That was enough to get me lost.

Speaker 1

Well for the guys out there again, put put Mike's uh clall sign Kilo echo zero Victor India mic in your hand alerts and when this guy is out there, work them.

Because I checked you and I have not worked yet.

So that's gonna be a personal goal of mine to get at least one to a thousand of you in wherever you are in the United States, whether whether you're in my back whether you're in my backyard or three thousand hours away.

I don't care.

I want to work you.

I want to be able to jump up and down and and you know, just a personal you know, bucket list for me.

Speaker 2

So I got him back in July of twenty twenty two.

Speaker 1

Oh, really excellent.

Speaker 5

I got y v wy my log.

Speaker 2

That was you was at back in the day when parts were kilo.

Speaker 5

Now, I gotta look that one up.

Speaker 1

Twenty twenty two is too long.

Speaker 2

I gotta.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Oh, I actually put in kilo.

That's not going to.

Speaker 3

Work uses Scopan Okay, Scopan steak on.

Speaker 5

Yeah, that was up in.

Speaker 4

That was my uh my very first video I made up in Maine.

I we went all the way up into north Maine and I actually opened up the potomap and say, okay, what's around me?

I found eight parks and I kept picking them and I kept picking him and every single one of them had zero contacts.

Speaker 1

There all at n O S A T n O A n O bragging rights.

We're going.

We're going on a road here, and that's right.

Speaker 4

I'm sorry for all you main activators up there that never got to it that this Kansas boy just lit all those up and you lost you lost out.

Speaker 1

I got I got seven of the eight activated, and that.

Speaker 5

Was of them.

Speaker 1

Is you're like a planning in your head that says certain months of the year we're going to stay.

I'll use an example west of the west of the Mississippi, and then we'll kind of we'll go to you know, you know, Atlantic East Coast area, uh, northern part of the United States, maybe in the summer month.

Do you kind of or were we Does it differ because of what's going on in your personal life?

Speaker 4

We we've we've got a pattern.

So my dad, as I said, lives out east.

We told him, we promised him we'd visit him every other year while we're trying, because we just didn't see him a lot there for a while.

So so what we've done, the way we've run previous years is we'll start, you know, at home from Kansas in the holidays, and one year we'll do a loop out to the east.

So you know, we'll leave in January and actually go down to the south, so we'll go to Texas somewhere, and then loop around through the East somewhere throughout that year, end up back in Kansas for the next set of holidays.

The next year we'd go west and see something out out in that direction.

Speaker 1

So you got west.

So you have, so you have lower forty eight.

Have you been into Canada?

You have not been to Alaska yet?

Correct?

Speaker 4

No, No, neither of those all forty eight but not I've been to DC but have not activated it and not Alaska.

Speaker 1

Any ambition is Canada sort of like on your bucket list, you think, or Alaska?

Oh?

Speaker 4

Yeah, absolutely certainly Alaska is because because I want to get that activate all states.

Oh, Yenada certainly could be, especially especially those western states because I tell you, when you when you're seeing uh, our section of the Rocky Mountains and you get up to that the Idaho and uh, you know, northwestern Wyoming and western Montana, those rockies just take a jump up.

Speaker 5

And I'm sure you know that's what a lot of Canada is like.

Speaker 4

So up into jasper in some of that area, I'd love.

I'd love to get up there and see see that and activate those areas.

Speaker 1

Excellent, excellent.

Speaker 4

Gal, there's some spots in Idaho that you pull in and you think you're in the Alps.

It's just just just can't believe the Sawtooth Mountains how.

Speaker 1

Pretty those are.

Yeah?

Absolutely, yeah.

Hey, Joeb Bright, you want to make a motion for this guy?

I mean, you work them, You work them, You worked them, so you might as well make the motion.

Speaker 2

So I'm gonna make a motion that we bring my traveling ham into the honorary position of him.

The club house would have a second, I can second, all right, we got we've got seconds only favorite alright, alright, boy chat was unanimous too, so congratulation.

Speaker 3

No, I think we got a lightning around now, is it?

Speaker 1

All right, Mike, all right, Joe Brett, you got any music for this?

Speaker 2

Oh?

Speaker 1

Of course, I guess, very important, Mike Spotify.

This is not official until we get through this section.

Speaker 3

Okay, right, it's pending.

Membership is pending.

Speaker 1

Yeah, let me let me get a refill here?

Okay, are you drinking?

Let's start there, yeah, drinking?

Speaker 4

Well, you want to see how complex a guy I am?

Here, you go right there, there you go.

I'm drinking a fifteen dollars bottle of bourbon.

That's that's how complex I get.

Speaker 1

I'm drinking a three dollars Fanta.

I'm not.

I don't know why.

That's probably I had a fixing for orange soda.

I don't.

I don't drink a lot of orange soda, maybe once or twice a year.

It was either that or like a great knee high.

I wanted something different.

Speaker 3

I haven't seen a great knee high forever.

Speaker 1

Tell me by, I gotta get me some great knee hi or a Fox and Park grape.

Sorry, I'm not sure if you all don't, you guys probably don't know what Fox the Park is.

Speaker 3

But oh, all right, this is the best thing I've got.

Speaker 1

That's what I Okay, all right, Mike, yeah, say that, all right, all right, Now this is what Mike, this is what you gotta do if you watch the show before, I think you know what's gonna happen.

But you gotta just clear your mind.

I'm gonna give you like three to five.

I just want you just to let everything go and the rest.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, just it's like it's like the cocker spaniel.

The cocker spaniel just went out, leave this blatter.

Now it's good.

It's a happy dog.

And we're just gonna go for a ride.

Now we're gonna keep on going down there.

Okay, okay, all right.

Question number one chicken, fish or steak?

Speaker 5

Who's buying?

Speaker 1

Doesn't make it different, doesn't matter, doesn't matter, never think it.

Speaker 5

Okay, I'm going steak.

Speaker 1

And how do you like your steak medium?

All right?

And what kind of fix it and any fixers that you can have on that play or around your place?

Map want more steak?

Speaker 2

Really?

Speaker 1

All the meats everything else is just filler?

Are you like, can you do like one of those ninety sixers and eat it all in two or three hours?

Can you do something like that?

Speaker 4

You know at the end where he got down to nothing but gristle and fat.

I don't know if I don't know if I could have handled.

Speaker 1

That, but you know, maybe maybe, really we haven't heard it.

Speaker 3

If you ever go through Ambillo and you give to the Big Texan, you have one hour to eat a seventy two out of steak meal.

You have to eat the steak and all the fixings.

If you eat it, it's free.

It's a hundred bucks.

Speaker 1

That's motivation.

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5

Can I bring the cocker spaniel?

Speaker 1

Yeah, but there's no stop.

Well, but you can't be taking any scraps and throwing in the hem under the table, even though he's gonna want that, all right.

Question number two?

Favorite ice cream?

Speaker 5

Vanilla?

Speaker 1

Uh?

In a in a cone or a dish dish?

Can I get any World and French vanilla or regular vanilla vanilla bean anything on top of it, like you know, shots, hot fudge, cool with I got.

Speaker 4

Coolip, maybe maybe some caramel sauce caramel really okay?

Speaker 1

But besides lie with nothing besides ice cream?

What's your favorite dessert?

Speaker 5

Hmmm, I don't know.

Speaker 4

I'm not going for baked goods.

I've got a I've got a really bad nut allergy, so uh uh that.

You know, a lot of desserts are just flat out so that's.

Speaker 5

An interesting question.

Speaker 1

Cheesecake, if I offered you I think it is okay, yeah, but if I offered you cheese, ice cream and milkshakes, you know.

Oh so if I offered you okay, if I gave you a choice of apple crumb, key Lime pie or New York cheesecake, let's go with the cheesecake.

Oh interesting, Okay, all right?

What kind of potato chips do you like?

Let's just the big elephants in the room.

Let's just get him.

Let's just get them out there.

Speaker 4

Not there's not many that I don't like.

I do like barbecue, that's that's not a problem, you know, but there's there's not many I I don't like.

Speaker 1

Okay, work rhymes, good pretzels, barbecue.

All right, all right, and your final question, okay, what's your what's your favorite band?

Speaker 5

Ah uh Aero Smith?

Speaker 1

Okay, like that.

Speaker 4

I have listened to much music in a while, so I did check and make sure that was still the case.

I'm not a complicated guy, you know, so that just.

Speaker 1

All right.

Bonus question.

Well, first off, before we get to the band, let's just finish off with the band.

Regarding hand bands, what is your favorite hand band?

Speaker 4

I like twenty?

Speaker 1

Do you do?

Speaker 5

It does everything and it's just always full and exciting.

Speaker 1

Mm hmm.

Speaker 3

You ever one can do twenty?

Speaker 1

Do you ever feel anything?

Under fourteen?

Anything under fourteen dot two ninety nine you have a better chance for some nice DX and then above you know, three A three zero five it could be whatever?

Right, Yeah, what the potential of some DX?

But you know, around the country kind of stuff.

Okay, I forgot what I was going to ask him.

Speaker 5

Man, last question and bonus question.

I think we're done.

Speaker 1

What was the bonus question?

Oh?

Speaker 2

God, darn it, bone head, where's your notes?

Speaker 3

That?

Speaker 1

No, we've been doing this for so long.

We don't need notes.

Speaker 2

Ye try to mix it up because you changed it up when you what kind of potato chips do you like?

Speaker 1

Yes?

I did well because because I knew but I knew he's been watching the show, so I wanted to kind of trick him up a little bit.

Speaker 3

So I'm not gonna I got a message from my brother.

There is someone that actually have a live camera at the Big Texan and someone is attempting to eat the seventy two steak as we speak.

Speaker 1

There camera too.

Wow, how cool is that?

Speaker 3

Let me see if I can zoom in on this.

Look at the size of that thing.

Speaker 1

I remembered my question, but that's okay.

Just stay on this, stay on this.

Look at that steak.

Oh, I'm so hungry right now.

Look at that and they're cooking other steaks three flight away for a front.

Speaker 3

So you have to eat that big chunk of meat.

You have to eat the salad.

You have to eat the baked potato in the role.

Speaker 4

Is there even a plate or is it just laying on the table.

It's laying on top of the plate, hanging.

Speaker 1

Over the edges.

Toude Okay, okay, say he has that's a lot of meat.

That's a lot of I'm sorry, that's a lot of meat.

Speaker 5

Hasn't much damage yet.

Speaker 1

Yeah, So what do you think?

Okay, so what do you think is?

Speaker 7

So?

Speaker 1

What would it be the strategy?

Let's get through the baked potato, the salad in the roles and just you mean, because I'm thinking you can get through a good portion of the meat, if not all of it, but then you got all this other stuff that I'm wondering if it would impede going down.

You know what I'm saying?

Or is there just no strategy at this point?

It is what it is.

Do the meat first, Do the meat first.

Speaker 4

You're thinking, at least you can enjoy that part first.

But whatever, whatever I'm gonna do, I'm gonna attack that and I'm not turning away from it until I don't.

Speaker 1

I could do hat.

I could do one of those that the half, you know, you pick a side.

Speaker 3

Yeah, there's eleven rules to this.

Speaker 2

The steak of stuff wouldn't be the biggest problem.

Speaker 3

And you were talking about the gristle and the fat.

According to rule number uh, let's see number five, you don't have to eat the fat.

Speaker 5

Okay, all right, but.

Speaker 3

They they will judge that.

And it's at least seventy dollars for this giant.

Speaker 1

I better at least get a T shirt on.

I better get a T shirt.

You know what I mean.

You have to finish it.

Get the T shirt.

Speaker 2

Yes, seventy dollar an ounce is not bad.

Speaker 1

That's not bad.

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Well, if I ever try that, maybe on the way back home the spring, I'll spot myself so you guys can can watch on the live stream and see if I can.

Speaker 1

Yes, I want you to go into a golden corral and I want to work.

I want you you work your way around it, picking up a little bit of everty and that's how you.

Yeah, I remembered my question.

I remember my question.

So you're a traveler.

My guess is you're going to have at least one CB correct.

No, no, oh, I lost a bet on this one.

Speaker 4

No, No, I don't have I did have a VHF UHF radio.

I had the FTX four or the FTD four hundred in my truck.

But I had an old tragedy and I bricked it.

M yeah, when that happens, I got I had a leak, is what happened.

And so in the on the overhead console of the truck, it used to it would always drip.

If I got a really heavy rain, it would drip kind of on the passenger side of the of the center console.

And I had my radio right there on the driver's side, and I had it set so that the memory card and all the plug it and everything was on top so I could so I could get to it.

And in twenty twenty one, we didn't hardly get any rain.

It wouldn't any were it rained.

Until we got to Yellowstone and we're at some campground and it just rained like crazy.

And when we went out the next morning, no radio, you know.

I turned it on and and and nothing happened.

Speaker 5

And it took me.

Speaker 4

It took me quite a while to figure out what went on because it was just such such a mystery.

But I think because the truck might have been sitting on some kind of angle, it happened to leak out the other side that time and came down and I think the drops of water literally hit the radio right where the power source plugged it.

Speaker 1

And I just got bulls.

Speaker 4

I mean, nothing else was wet, you know.

And I even sent it into a suit, and I'm like, I don't know what's wrong with this radio.

And they had it for a couple months and this was still kind of COVID, so they're they're kind of slow on everything.

And I called him, and uh, I got to a technician and he said, oh, yeah, I remember, I've I've I've looked at that one.

He said, Usually, Mike, what happens is, you know, after a little bit of time, people remember something that they did, like spill a drink on it or something like that that cause something like this to happen.

And I'm like, I've really got nothing, and he said, well, I can see, you know, moisture going across the board, the motherboard, and you know, I don't I don't even know how much much damage it did.

Speaker 5

But I got I got no radio.

Speaker 4

I ended up selling the face for one hundred bucks or someone for someone that needed an extra face.

Speaker 1

But is to CB the you don't want any bad kids hearing bad language or bad conversations, or do you feel you just don't need to travel information.

You've been doing this enough and you know, and I wouldn't mind it.

Speaker 5

I wouldn't mind the information.

Speaker 4

But man, when you got when you're telling twenty five pounds, and it's not just your RV and you know, your your fun stuff, it's your entire life.

It is absolutely everything.

If I wreck that thing, it's like having a house fire and we lose everything.

We can't live, we can't my kids can't eat or you know, they got nowhere to sleep, we can't work.

I mean, it is, it is absolutely everything.

It's a little nerve wracking going down the road sometimes.

Speaker 2

Two things that you mentioned in that one is when I put the atas on the truck in the FT eight ninety one in the truck and head the first time pulling the Campra with it.

I'm sitting there trying to hunt some podam.

It didn't take me long ago, and this ain't worth it.

It no longer comes on while I'm driving.

I don't deal with the HF Like the power is not even plugged up to it when I'm towing.

But yeah, and then izo was question about the CV thing.

I noticed one of my work vehicles.

I used to have CV in there for years, and nobody's on there unless they're trash talking some truckers and trying to RaSE some at night.

There's just hardly any It ain't.

Speaker 4

Like it was so Honestly, if you scan FRS and GMRS channels, I think that's where you hear.

Speaker 1

Thet Yeah, there's a lot on interesting really Yeah.

Speaker 4

Yeah, And and FRS you'll get people that are traveling together, you know, and they're carpool and they're talking to each other GMR.

You get into urban areas, you hear a lot of GMRS.

But you know, otherwise it's a lot of static and and you know, we're we're out in the boonies a lot of times.

I mean we don't we don't go to campgrounds.

We're like, like now we're we're out in the desert and there's just not a lot of vhf uhf activity.

Maybe here since we're we're fairly close to Vegas, but I mean there's a lot of times we're all pull up on repeater book you know the list of repeaters nearby and the nearest ones over ninety miles away.

Speaker 1

Wow, right, I mean it's there's just there's just not a lot of activity.

Are there trained tracks back you?

Because there was a couple of times I saw lights going on.

I like, is that a train?

Speaker 4

You know, there's there's a semis that go up the road here?

All right, some kind of some kind of paving plant or something down here.

Speaker 1

It was extremely low flying starting out.

They got two trails.

It might look like a train area, do you want or something?

Yeah?

Yeah, right?

Speaker 5

Uh.

Speaker 4

And yesterday we had there was some racing team from They had Red Bull Baja trucks out here and they were driving them around in the cool racing around that was I was actually recording a video yesterday putting up my DX commander.

How fast can I put up my DX commander and I got this race car going by in the back.

Did you see the trail of dust go across across my shop?

Speaker 3

How fast can you put it up?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 4

I did it in uh and I got I got the video I released.

It was thirty two minutes, and I was hoping for twenty.

And the reason I did that is Callum kind of called us all out on that.

He's like, everyone talks about they don't want to use the d X commander because it takes too long to put up for a poda.

But but let's be if you're going to go out and you're gonna potea for three hours, four hours, you get to put a little bit of time into it or out there most of the day.

Isn't it worth twenty or thirty minutes to put up your antenna?

Speaker 1

Interesting thinking?

I like that, Yeah, yeah, it makes sense.

I was like, he caught me.

Speaker 4

I was I was trapped in the group.

Think you know the same thing that everybody else says.

So I'm like, okay, well I'll do the same thing.

I'll see how how fast I can get it up.

And there were a couple of things that that trip me up and added on some time.

But I got a couple of tricks that I do too to take off some time as well, But I want to get that down to about about twenty minutes.

Speaker 3

This is a DX commander.

Nice for anybody, for anybody who's questioning that you can't POTO with a DX commander.

This is this and the poll is all you have to have.

Speaker 1

Everything is in here.

Speaker 5

Yep, yeah, and I think I can get it down to twenty minutes.

I can do that.

Speaker 1

So let me guess.

I bet you have what ten, fifteen, seventeen, and twenty all the band?

Speaker 3

All the bands?

Speaker 7

You have?

Speaker 1

All the bands?

Shane?

Speaker 3

Yep?

Speaker 5

What model you have, Shane?

The expedition Okay, all right, yeah, I've got that as well.

Speaker 4

I tell you though, I snapped my mast earlier this year and I got the replacement DX Commander mast from DX Engineering.

Speaker 1

So it's this.

Speaker 4

It's this nice looking olive drab thing, but the specs aren't quite the same.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and so there's some that's the nearer one.

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, yeah, so's there's a couple of little things I've had to change.

But one thing that's happened since then is I can't put that fourth wire on there with this new mast.

Speaker 1

It never did that to me.

Speaker 4

On the old mast.

I could put the fourth wire on and get another band and it was fine.

So I'd put like seventeen on there.

I'd have the ten meter wire, the twenty meter wire, and the forty meter wire which also does fifteen, and then i'd add on the seventeen or the eighty.

You know, i'd have an eighty meter wire.

But I tried that for field day and it totally screwed with the forty meter wire all of a sudden, I.

Speaker 3

Couldn't have it forty twenty seventeen and twelve.

So I have forty twenty fifteen or forty twenty seventeen, fifteen and twelve.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and I should have had ten in here, had ten because I used probably.

Speaker 5

Doing there somewhere.

Speaker 1

It's not much wire, right, I used my fifteen meter one and I just used a tuner for twelve.

Speaker 3

That's all maybe that, oh there's ten right there?

Speaker 2

It was.

Speaker 5

It was yeah, he was a little guy.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's all it is.

That's all it is.

Yeah.

Speaker 3

So I have forty twenty twelve, fifteen, seventeen and ten.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's what I have.

Speaker 5

Just got them all.

Speaker 1

Size does not matter.

Speaker 5

Yeap, just get it, just get it up.

Speaker 1

Yeah that's what she said.

Well, it does.

It just doesn't always have to be built it.

I just still haven't tuned it yet.

I got it too.

They're they're go the lights.

Yeah you guys back.

Yeah yeah, yeah, I love it.

Speaker 7

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Well, Mike, listen, we're gonna hang out here, We're gonna work, we're gonna do a few things.

You're gonna hang out with us.

Uh, you know, have a throw in, throwing comments.

Man, you're you're a clubhouse member now.

So yeah, the key is always on and we seriously, anytime you want to come back, just shoot me an email, shoot someone else in an email and say, hey, listen, I got this going on, or I got nothing to do tonight on Tuesday, and I want to come hang out.

Absolutely, man, Right, we got this open door policy, and you know, Joe Brett is the bouncer.

Speaker 6

So so, Mike, while Shane's getting a beer, I'm going to ask, has the government shut down affected your parks at all?

Speaker 3

Uh?

Speaker 1

Not very much.

Speaker 4

There's been some access issues just in terms of visitor centers.

Is the biggest, the biggest impact, and you know, even when we started traveling this year.

I mean we went we saw we've seen almost every park in California.

We saw the park in Oregon, and a couple of parts, a few parks up in Washington.

Speaker 1

And when we.

Speaker 4

Started this year, you know that was that was the the whole Doge thing was going on then.

And you know they're talking about how many people are going to be laid off and all these rangers have been fired and and and all this, and it's gonna be hard to get through all the parks.

Speaker 5

We haven't we haven't had any issues.

Speaker 4

It's it's a lot of hooplaw on the news they're trying to sell and and we just we just haven't seen it.

Speaker 3

We just Why did I ask my brother to get into him radio.

Speaker 1

Because because he because he loves you.

I have more time, Randy.

Speaker 3

I'm not ballooning as much minus this weekend because we have for those of you in the DFW area, this weekend is the Flags of Honor, and you can go to believe it's Flags of Honor, Dot of work.

I'll pull this up anyway.

It's a big tribute to our military servicemen.

And we're gonna have some balloons out there to light up the Park.

Everything's really cool.

So if you're in the d f W Metroplex, look at Flags of Honor.

That's this weekend.

Speaker 4

Veterans Days next Tuesday, right, is that the left?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 6

Yeah, So I was out in San Diego last week and I was going to go hit the was it the National monument that's down on Point Loma?

And you could not get into the park.

They've got it locked and closed off and the rangers sitting out front turning everybody around because the Boks closed you to shut down?

Speaker 4

Which park was that?

Speaker 3

Oh?

Speaker 4

That is?

Speaker 1

It's down on Point Loma.

Let me pull it up here.

Speaker 5

But it's a national something.

Speaker 1

Huh, yeah, it's a national monument.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 4

I haven't run into any of that, And and everybody, you know, all the staff that we've run into is they've been fantastic.

We haven't had to stop at any of the gates.

You know, there hadn't been any line at any of the gates.

You can just yeah, you can just smoke right through.

Well I don't smoke right through.

You still stop because the one time I smoke through, someone will be there.

And I got my annual pass, so they're not losing any money with me.

Speaker 1

Driving through should have figured Cabrillo National Monument hm US nine oh seven.

Speaker 4

And you know some of those places, you know, like I think of Petrified Forest in Arizona.

You know, they have problems with people going in there and and hauling out wood, you know, trying to trying to steal wood out of the park.

So some of those places they're actually trying to protect their their assets.

I could understand that, you know, and they actually have a scale.

When you drive out there, you have to stop by the the uh the guard shack, and you can tell this scale cutting the ground to make sure I don't have some petrified log in my in my bed that I'm trying to get out with.

Speaker 1

Ah.

Speaker 4

But some of them worry about stuff like that.

You know, they've got they've got stuff in there that there.

It's not just land, it's there's there's valuable things and places in there there they're trying to protect.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, like any problems with any problems with antennas, you know, with parks, you know, rangers or almost say hey, yeah, I would prefer you to I mean, you're not really hanging stuff in trees or right right, they're using your vertical so.

Speaker 4

I've I've never had a bad a bad interaction with a ranger.

I've had a few.

Uh, just go by and wave.

I've had one in Rocky Mountain.

Just make sure I wasn't going to camp in the parking lot that that I was sitting in, you know, because I'm I'm primarily an evening activator, late afternoon evening activator.

And the game that the hikers like to play in the parks is they'll go sleep in their car in the park and they're playing it on starting their hike, like at four and five in the morning, and that it is really competitive to get a parking spot at a trailhead in a national park, so they just drive around the park.

They'll stop and sleep somewhere until the ranger comes up and tells them you can't sleep there.

They'll drive to another spot and sleep there, and they'll just kind.

Speaker 1

Of because because because they want to see the morning sunrise from some beautiful peak.

Is that the goal or there?

Speaker 4

You know, they want to get up a mountain and they don't want to be up there, you know, in early mid afternoon when storms start forming, they want to be they want to be coming down by then, you know, there's there's there's there's some time pressure there that they like to get out early in the morning and they want to get a parking spot in the trailhead to not add on a mile or two of hiking down the road before you get to the trailhead.

I mean, if you show up at six in the morning to some of these trailheads.

Speaker 1

They're already full.

Speaker 4

Really wow, So if you can use a shuttle, do it.

Because I ain't playing that game that.

Yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 1

Well, Shane, you want to do something.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it's funny you mention that because I just fired everything up.

I'm trying to get things situated, all right, So what I'm working on here?

So I mentioned, uh oh, it was a lot.

A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that we were going to try to do coozies and that El Marie welcome.

Speaker 1

So we were going to.

Speaker 3

Make some coozies and sell them.

And the more I got to think about it, I was like, you know what, it's just not something that's going.

Speaker 7

To be.

Speaker 3

Feasible.

I mean it could be, but I mean if a thousand people order, I don't have a I don't have time to do a thousand right now.

We've got too many things going on.

So what I asked the guys, I said, hey, how about we just give them away?

So what what I'm doing?

Speaker 1

There?

We go?

So what we wanted to do?

Speaker 7

Wait?

Speaker 1

Wait minute, you don't want to tell your bosh you want to take some time off?

Speaker 7

Yeah?

Speaker 3

End up kidding.

He would look at me and go, do.

Speaker 1

What Well, just say, hey, listen, I met this guy, Mike, and he said, you know, we were talking and I can't go any further here, right?

Speaker 5

Yeah?

Speaker 1

Nice?

Speaker 3

Try, Yeah, let's see here.

So what I'm gonna do, Come on, I'm using software that I don't normally use.

Speaker 1

So what we're gonna do.

Speaker 3

We're gonna give these away.

And what I thought would be kind of cool is I'm going to burn these live no pressure.

Speaker 1

So I have.

Speaker 3

I've got blank coasters, sorry not coasters.

Speaker 1

Make yourself big on gorgil and slip.

Speaker 2

Customers there you go.

Speaker 3

All right, So I got these.

They're they're n it print on the inside, so there's leather on the outside.

And what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna burn the clubhouse logo on one side and the other side.

Whomever wins this, I can put your call sign your name, your day of birth, your kids names, whatever you want.

Speaker 1

Your favorite club out, favorite clubhouse.

Speaker 3

Guy, if you want a giant egg plant on here, I can put a giant egg plan on here for you.

It's going to solely be up to you.

So we'll start the we'll do this giveaway fashion.

I've got I have eight of these to give away.

We're not doing all eight tonight, sorry, so, but we'll do two tonight for the next or two per show for the next four shows.

Hey eded bathos streaming.

They didn't screw that up?

And uh, and then I'll shift these out to you guys from Texas.

Speaker 1

Un So what you're doing that?

Speaker 3

So?

Why am I get a word for the giveaway?

Speaker 1

The key word?

Guys?

Speaker 3

And actually, does someone else want to since I'm running this laser, does someone else want to do the giveaway tool?

Does anyone volunteers?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

I got it.

Okay, I have a suggestion.

I have a suggestion for a word private no traveling, traveling, just traveling.

We can do that.

Keep it simple, Let's get it calling.

Speaker 3

Keep it simple.

Speaker 4

The American spelling with just one l.

Yeah, exactly, proper kings and gliss has two l's.

Speaker 3

I gotta remember my setting, so I don't screw this up.

Thankfully, I write everything down.

Speaker 1

No regards.

Speaker 3

I don't worry about that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no regards.

Mm hmm.

All right, there you go, boys and girls.

Speaker 4

There it is.

Speaker 1

It's you see it on your screen.

Type it in exactly as you see it, no variations, thanks, exactly as you see it.

Speaker 5

You don't put a pound sign in front of it.

Speaker 6

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

Speaker 1

All right, we grew up from that, yeah, we graduated sign.

It looks like he knows what they're doing.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, yeah, this a couple of times.

Yeah, all right, I'm gonna change my camera to the laser so you guys can look at something more interesting than in.

Speaker 1

Me while you're staring at the computer screen.

Yeah.

Making sure I don't burn my house yet, Grouch, you are correct?

Speaker 3

What Grouch say?

Speaker 6

Suddenly the chat comes to life.

Yeah, he's not wrong.

We're up to fifty nine entries of one hundred and one watching.

So people want the cops.

Speaker 7

Oh I have I have my pretective cover down so I don't have to put in my uh, I don't have to my goggles.

Speaker 3

Oh there you go, my fancy glasses.

Speaker 1

Suggestion to Pope in the chat rety that do not put that tic tac toe board.

Speaker 3

Yep, don't do it.

Speaker 1

Okay, okay.

Jody wants to know if you got the fan turned on this week.

Speaker 3

Shane, Yes, I'm stepping over to it right now.

Otherwise it'll smoke up my my office in here, and that would not be a good thing.

Speaker 1

Burnt leather, it's good smell.

Oh yeah, yeah.

Ninety six yeah, mhm.

Well we're at sixty six right now.

That's we can't we can't do no, sixty six.

That's the bad number.

So let's come on, guys, three.

Speaker 2

More six seven.

Speaker 1

Good job, Jesus, somebody's gonna do it.

Speaker 2

Look, I don't know Life three sixty eight parents, they have put the six seven into Life three sixty blowing my phone up.

Speaker 1

That is gonna be a short.

I don't foresee that.

That's that's gonna be.

That's a hit and run.

Speaker 2

That's I've seen a video.

I've seen a video today that kind of made me like, kind of understand.

How how many times do we reference eight five, eight, seven, sixty five three or nine?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 3

True, that's true.

Speaker 1

So but that means three six.

You'll see that teleph you'll see that telephone number and a lot of gas stations stalls around America even to this day the eight six seven, five three nine, Yes you will nice, okay, as well as some clubhouse stickers.

But I'm I'm just saying though, all.

Speaker 3

Right, I'm gonna swap myself, swap me around.

So I'm gonna burn the clubhouse logo on here while we're waiting for the entries to come in.

So if y'all want to swap me around before I hit burn, Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 1

There you go.

Now watch it.

Imagine it's showtime, all right.

Speaker 3

That looks good to me?

Speaker 1

Does look good?

Speaker 3

Oh that's a good question.

I got a pop up.

Speaker 1

Mhmm.

Do you guys remember who was the guy A.

This is like the magic of P.

T.

Oh, I can tell the fans on.

Speaker 3

Yeah, you see how the smoke getting pulled out of here.

Speaker 4

There's a practical joke.

He's gonna put a dirty image on there or something that's side.

Speaker 6

Just say, Shane, how are your local firefighters?

Speaker 1

They're great.

Speaker 3

I had to turn the fan out.

That's putting off more smoke, and I.

Speaker 1

Thought it was going to Steve.

How are we doing with traveling?

Six seven seven?

Come on, guys, a few more last come on, last call, last call.

Man, Shane, you've got that down to a science.

Speaker 3

I get a little practice.

Speaker 1

That looks good.

Speaker 5

Yeah, that's beautiful.

Speaker 6

It's a shame it only cost you twelve thousand dollars that laser you did tell beer snack you put that on our card, right yeah?

No, no, not yet, yeah, not yet, the bill the bill by now, no, because I.

Speaker 1

Keep deleting the email by accident up the sixties.

Look at that?

That is beautiful?

Speaker 3

Isn't that pretty?

All my all my lights.

Speaker 1

See, we're gonna make the cooozy last longer than six seven.

That's that.

This is this is our goal here.

We're gonna keep the coozy going.

Speaker 5

I think doctor Evil is pretty jealous right now.

Speaker 1

Yes, absolutely, because I've got freaking lasers.

Say change, Is that the diode?

Or yeah?

Speaker 3

Okay, so that's that's the Oh, there we go.

You can take me away now and dry.

Speaker 1

Put it in your chat here?

Speaker 2

Make it good?

Speaker 1

Yeah, you only got one shot at this fall sign.

You put a grouch on it.

Congratulations Arthur.

There he is Arthur.

What would you like on the other side your call sign or your first name, your last name?

Regrets?

No, regrets, very good.

Jody Ron wants a flex on the other side.

Don't we all?

Speaker 1

Excellent choice, Arthur.

Speaker 7

Now I gotta do this.

Why y'all chit chance?

So y'all chit chance.

So I hadn't lose focus.

Well, we don't want to disturb you.

That's the other thing drop tested by Shane exactly.

Speaker 1

I like that.

That's good.

Speaker 6

I'm not gonna tell you who put that in there, Shane.

Speaker 3

It's probably you.

Speaker 1

Nope.

No, I'll give you a hand somebody closer to you, closer to DNA, that's all I'll say.

Speaker 3

Oh, that jerk.

You'd think family would be been nicer to you.

Speaker 1

Nope.

What's family for?

Speaker 6

Mm hmm.

Speaker 1

All right, I'm looking here.

You know what Shane's gotta do for his He's just he should put on the other side.

My favorite brother is Shane.

Speaker 6

Yeah, okay, yeah, or put the smarter brother to Shane.

Speaker 1

Smarter brother.

There you go.

I love your Randy.

Sorry.

Speaker 6

Randy was helping me out though with a test session back on Monday, so so while I was sitting in the airport, Yeah, if we had gotten delayed, he was gonna come grab me to go have a beer.

Speaker 1

So definitely looking at that.

How are we doing Shane, We're good.

Speaker 3

I'm I'm working as fast as I can.

H didn't say much.

Speaker 6

Yeah, yeah, because we know how work how fast they work in the airline industry.

Speaker 1

Hey, watching, now, do we want to get a second?

Do we want want to get a second?

A second?

Word on deck?

Here?

They start that one?

Yeah, if you want to throw one in the back channel.

Well, Mike, do you have any suggestions for a word?

Speaker 4

You know something I'm trying to get going here is the Digital Mode Revival?

How about that all one word Digital Mode Revival?

Speaker 2

Okay, another episode of making you work for it?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Nothing last week?

Speaker 6

Yeah, I may have had a few too many beforehand.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

So so this this uh, this Friday?

Speaker 4

Uh, anyone that wants to get on and run PSK thirty one.

I'm going to get on at what's it going to be now?

At the time, it's one o'clock UTC.

Now I better keep it at midnight UTC and keep it the same.

So midnight UTC, hop on and run some PSK thirty one.

I'm gonna do this once a month to try to get more activity on digital modes that aren't FT eight.

Speaker 1

So I think I did ps is PSK are are there still users out there?

Speaker 4

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I actually ran ready last month, and in doing so I saw some PSK signals from people that were just out there doing it.

Speaker 1

But I'm hoping to get out there with.

Speaker 4

Some regularity so that people know that on the first Friday of every month at midnight UTC, there will be some people out there running these modes and try to get some regular usage of them going so we can get some sort of keyboard keyboard alternative going.

Speaker 1

Mike, and a suggestion might be once a month on the second Monday and a month or or just I'm just throwing out that dose.

Stuff like that kind of has a nice Yeah, I know.

I'm gonna throw a plug out to the q r P ers every six pm Eastern Standard time.

Q RP with K zero k LB and Steve from South Carolina and uh okay, well just we'll stop right there for a minute.

Arthur.

Speaker 2

Do you like it?

Speaker 1

Arthur say hell yeah, give us a thumbs up, say good for me, but something in the chet for us.

Speaker 6

I check the private chat make sure that's right, if you would, sir.

Speaker 1

O holy cripe.

Steve.

Speaker 4

Yeah looks good, Steve, Okay, good deal.

Yes, this is the kind of a running thing.

Speaker 1

I me.

Speaker 5

Monthly.

Speaker 4

So yeah, Shane, but anybody that's interesting, hop on, let's do some let's get some other modes going.

Speaker 1

I want to say I did PSK thirty one about twenty years ago, eighteen years ago, I think it was in the early two thousands, and I had fun.

A buddy of mine here locally helped me.

He meant, he mentored me, and after a couple of times I got it because he reminded me of the old pack packet days.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and years.

A lot of people are gonna want some alternatives.

Speaker 7

You know.

Speaker 4

CW is hard.

FT eight is kind of boring.

It'd be nice to have another option, a keyboard and keyboard option you might you might want in your quiver when we get to twenty twenty nine, twenty thirty at solar minimum.

Speaker 6

Right, yeah, okay, solar room.

Yeah, that's not where my mind went.

Speaker 1

Looking good, Shane, looking good?

All right?

Speaker 3

Do I have approval?

Speaker 1

All right?

Get us the thumbs up.

Say yes one more time?

Speaker 8

Arthur in the chat, please, nothing like doing customization live, he says, don't hit it, hit it all right.

Speaker 3

Let me let me stop sharing that.

And if y'all will Enbigan me done, alright, you de turned.

Yeah, I've been lazery graving photos.

Speaker 5

Of my dog.

Speaker 3

Uh, let's see advice, let's do all right, that looks good.

I don't know if y'all can see that yet?

Speaker 1

Not yet?

Speaker 3

There, come, now you can see.

Speaker 6

I see a little bit of an outline there.

Yeah, that's not the blue line, is it?

Speaker 1

Yes?

Speaker 6

It is.

Speaker 1

Oh wow, surprised that's showing up.

Speaker 3

Well, the camera's on the inside.

I can't see that unless I look through the the little window.

Speaker 1

Okay, here we go.

Speaker 3

The magic of burning, the magic of photons.

Speaker 1

If any folks listening, Shane is available for all your four h fairs, country county fairs.

You'll have a booth set up.

Speaker 3

No, but if you have a YouTube channel or if you need some some stuff done, reach out to me.

Just kind of a hobby of mine, so I don't mind helping shot you guys want.

Speaker 6

To great wants to ship something over to you.

I think you guys are close enough to you can just meet.

Speaker 3

I was about to say, just meet me somewhere and drop it off.

Don't pay for shipping for like a mile from each other.

Well, maybe be a little further than that just cross.

Speaker 1

It's it's Texas.

It's not a mile away from each other.

You all know that.

Okay, well it get it's a mile away, but it's an hour.

Speaker 3

So and if I do end up coming to Huntsville, I might bring it with me.

Speaker 1

Okay, that'd go.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it'd be kind of cool.

Speaker 2

I can't take it in.

Speaker 3

The show, but I could.

I could do it Monta Santa and do some some stuff.

Speaker 1

You're going to pack that thing in the back of the of the truck?

Oh?

Speaker 3

Absolutely no, sticking with me in the on the plane.

Speaker 1

How cool to fly would that be?

Speaker 3

I don't drive anywhere anymore.

Seven.

Speaker 1

I'm thinking off the tailgate.

If imagine him doing it off the tailgate, that'd be great.

Speaker 2

There we go, Arthur, that's beautiful.

Speaker 1

Looking good.

That's fancier than a popsicle.

Don't get the boys in the house, all right?

Second one, number two, exactly as you see on your screen.

Speaker 5

Nice, I saw someone wanting J S.

Speaker 4

Eight.

I'm gonna run J S E next month.

So first Friday in December, jas call cool.

Speaker 1

You heard it here?

First, boys and girls, let's go get him in.

Get him in, Get him in, Okay, get him in, Get him in.

That's I see everyone rolling him in.

Get him in, get him in, and get him in.

Speaker 3

Yep, man, this looks better in person than it does on screen.

Speaker 1

Good Arthur, you're I think you're gonna be.

Speaker 5

Happy now this time?

You do have the pounds.

Sign in there, Steve.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you see, Mike.

We like to keep everybody on their toes around here.

Speaker 5

Yeah, okay, week.

Speaker 2

What was that?

Speaker 5

I can't even remember.

It was hilarious, that's it.

Speaker 6

Yeah, but it was the first letter of each word capitalized.

Speaker 2

Come up with that great one.

Speaker 3

I figured he was the culprit.

Speaker 1

I was trying to figure out how many syllables and how do you say it?

Speaker 2

It took thirty minutes for people to learn and figure out how to spill it.

That was a copy paste job right there.

Oh yeah, yeah, if you didn't know who to copy it from, who get it right or not?

Speaker 1

Who got it right?

That's why the show went three hours?

Did you guys really we have we had fun?

Yeah?

We had fun, Yes, we did.

We had fun.

Getting up Getting up in the morning was a little tough on Wednesday morning, but it was worth it.

I bet you walk into the shower like a zombie.

Speaker 6

Well, did anybody watch the World Series while we're waiting on Shane too?

Speaker 5

I watched the Last Game, The last half of the Last Game.

Speaker 6

Game three matched the longest game in World Series history.

Was it like eighteen innings or twenty two eighteen innings?

Speaker 1

Eighteen innies?

Yeah?

Speaker 6

Now it was an hour shorter and time wise, but the previous game didn't have the pitch clock.

So great, right, Oh, Jody's asking for vara Ac chat.

Speaker 4

Yeah, Jody, I've had a lot of people suggest that I know, I know exactly zero about it, but I'm gonna have to learn because a lot of people have brought that one up.

Speaker 1

Go all right, boys, I'm showing sixty one on my screen.

Speaker 2

Keep them going one.

Speaker 3

So the next question is, Arthur, are you good on cure Z or if not, shoot me an email Ham Radio Clubhouse at gmail dot com with your shipping information so I can get this out to you.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 6

I felt bad for the umpire of the World Series, although I know what he was getting paid.

Arthur said he's good on the Z.

Good alright, boys, Last call, Last Call.

Speaker 3

I'm starting to burn on the Clubhouse logo.

Speaker 1

Full screen for the burn.

I'm sitting at sixty four.

It's still good.

Keep it going, boys, Last call, Last call.

Speaker 6

John fell asleep from the ninth any of game seven.

Speaker 5

They missed some stuff.

Whose dog is that, Shane?

Speaker 1

It's fine, that's that's his.

Speaker 3

Yeah, he's a half German shepherd and half Blue healer and hundred percent jerk, aren't they all?

Yes?

But I have a photo of him.

I've got it.

I have a better engraving of him using a different processing method, which is really cool.

All right, so I don't want to screw this up.

There's our box that looks good.

Speaker 6

David wants you to do a tattoo with the what laser?

No, he's volunteering for it, so what No.

Speaker 3

Way, Hopefully I'll watch him.

Oh yes, all right, that's one.

Okay, here goes the we're going to ask you that layers turned off?

All right, there goes the clubhouse logo.

Speaker 6

All right, you have two minutes to get your entry in and l wants to know if you can engrave on ceramic.

Speaker 2

I can.

Speaker 3

I can engrave on just about anything.

Okay, now, how are we engraving into the ceramic or are we engraving something onto the ceramic?

Speaker 1

That's the.

Speaker 3

That's the challenge because my infrared side's only about to watts where my blue side's twenty watts.

Okay, oh yeah, I could do custom coffee bugs.

I've got to have a rotary attachment coming to do coffee mugs, tumblers, all that kind of good stuff.

But it won't be here until the end of I'm hoping it's gonna be here by the end of November.

See all right, a minute, fifteen seconds?

Speaker 1

Do you still have the steak pulled up?

Speaker 3

I don't.

Speaker 7

Okay, We're gonna check in with the with the guy.

Yeah, a couple of requests to see before we sign off.

I will jump back in there.

Speaker 6

Sixty five entries, Yeah, towards somebody's going for a seventy two ounce steak and there's a live camera feed.

Speaker 3

God, that thing stinks.

Speaker 5

Have we got Have we got an update on that?

How's that guy doing?

Speaker 3

That's if someone wants to go to the Big Texans website, just go to the live camera feed.

It's there, all right?

Speaker 1

Twenty five seconds, Steve, how are we doing on the sixty five entries?

Still?

All right?

Guys?

Speaker 6

Literally guys, last call, last call, and yep, all was asking for Amarillo and of course, so David said, camera feed's not coming up for him.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they got a whole table full of people there, now, oh do they Yeah, he's down to single digits.

Let's see.

Speaker 5

Some guys giving up.

He's got his box.

Speaker 1

Oh fail, takeout box is not a good sign, is it?

Speaker 2

That's a I think it still fills the takeout box too.

Ten minutes, ten minutes.

Man, you don't like he's putting much of a dinner.

Speaker 1

No, see, he probably had.

He probably had something around three o'clock this afternoon.

You can't do it.

Did he do the salad and potato first?

Speaker 2

I'll still see?

Speaker 1

Oh my god, do you think like the day before you gotta just stretch your stomach?

Speaker 2

What has he been doing?

Playing on TikTok or so well?

Speaker 1

Must have he was probably watching this show.

This is what happens.

Speaker 2

Maybe he's on a second one.

Speaker 1

I don't when Joe was so optimistic.

You can't actually see the plate now, so that's yeah, that's upon us.

Speaker 2

Oh and lock me up.

Speaker 1

Oh the camera did we do that?

Speaker 3

Probably now?

Speaker 6

Full screen?

Speaker 1

Okay, he's got what he's coming into.

Nine minutes and thirty five seconds, So Shane and go down there and help the man, bring Shane, bring the dog with you.

Yeah, they're kidding.

Speaker 6

Apparently there's also a shrimp cocktail and a drink that has to be consumed.

Speaker 5

Yep, I like fast either.

I haven't seen anything got his mouth yet.

Speaker 3

I think he's just gonna like cut everything up into small piece.

Speaker 1

Man.

He didn't sit down that challenge, right, Why is it he just diving into it?

Cut and go, I mean cut and swallow, cut and swallow cutting, swa just get going, man.

Speaker 2

He should have stayed and watched the club as.

Speaker 1

I agree we should.

We should get him on the clubhouse and tell us about it.

We were watching you.

Speaker 5

What he's still cutting?

Speaker 1

What hell be doing?

Speaker 3

Can you imagine me try to get it into the small pieces as possible?

And this eating real fast?

Speaker 1

Would he get mad at me if I asked him chicken fish or steak.

Speaker 3

Waist in the in the left side?

Speaker 1

You guys ever watched the Coney Island hot Dogs where they dunk the bread.

I can't watch that.

The dunking of the bread just throws me off.

He goes, he's pondering it.

We've been watching him for two minutes.

Speaker 2

What is.

Speaker 1

Maybe at this?

Okay?

All right?

Maybe at this point, he knows what time it is.

I might also just enjoy what I got at this point?

Why get my stuff?

Why give myself a lower g I issue later?

Speaker 3

Seventy bucks?

Speaker 1

Seventy bucks right at this point, let me just enjoy a good steak.

There there's a bite.

Finally, he ain't gonna make it now.

Look at that.

Speaker 4

He's contemplating life choices right there.

Speaker 1

Yes, this is not what I expected, and I don't blame him.

I I it's it's not easy.

I bet.

Speaker 3

All right, have we hit the button yet?

Speaker 1

Do we have a winner?

Speaker 7

Uh?

Speaker 2

No?

Speaker 1

I mean.

Speaker 6

Throw that up there, sixty five?

All right, I'm gonna hit it absolutely.

See who gets it?

Speaker 2

Not the guy eating steak, Mike one of the mic.

Speaker 1

Army Mike Army Tortos.

You woke up for this one, So all right, tortoise.

What do you want on the other side?

I know, big decisions here.

I like Iszo Iszo's my friend?

Come on?

Don't say what?

And we're not gonna put Motorola on the other side either, as much as I love my Motorola naming call.

All right, do you want your name up on top?

You want your name up on top?

Yeah?

See what I when you wake up?

You're right, plasma.

Speaker 6

I was gonna say, Shane, do you have his call sign?

I thought it was in three MFL but someone correct me.

If I'm not creative, I happen to see it is logo there.

Speaker 1

So yeah, he wants his name on top, and it's Mike Fox Lima, not Fox Trup.

Mike Lima.

I'm glad you caught that.

Thank you, Shane.

Speaker 3

November three Mike Fox Lima.

Okay, yep, don't screw this up, Shane.

Speaker 2

Es you want to be closing soon?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 3

No kidding.

Speaker 1

Does he want Mike or does you do you want Mike?

Speaker 3

Or do you want Michael?

I was about to ask the same thing.

Speaker 2

He wants barbecue chips for the wind Michael, Michael.

Speaker 1

There you go.

Speaker 6

I was gonna say, they're not closing with all those steaks on the grill.

Still that looks like charcoal.

Though, oh my god, the.

Speaker 1

One close to us looks very rare on top, doesn't it.

It's hard to see us, but he hasn't flipped it yet.

I'm not gonna tell the girl, the girl master, what to do.

You never do that.

You never tell that girl master what to do you just let him do I wait for this dude to pass out.

Speaker 5

There's a lot of looking at that steak.

Speaker 4

He's thinking he's gonna end up being like, what was that scene?

And stand by me the bar for.

Speaker 1

That's what he's worrying about.

A live cam And I'm wondering this too.

He just looked at the clock.

Speaker 2

What if he doesn't have the money and he's sitting there thinking, I got four and a half minutes before I go to jail.

Speaker 1

Five bucks exactly exactly.

I guess I'm doing dishes tonight.

Yeah, exactly.

Huh, call a friend, Call a friend to come here with a wallet and some money, or PayPal me or Venmo me mm hm.

Speaker 2

They should have an interactive button on here.

Speaker 1

I would you know what I because clubhouse would pay if he can't.

If he doesn't have any money, we would pay.

That's we would chip in a few he was if.

Speaker 2

He was given effort into it, Well let's go.

Speaker 1

You got three minutes and forty nine seconds.

Put some effort into it.

Speaker 6

I was gonna say, I'd like to see a money gun that you know was triggered by super chats.

Speaker 3

Oh yes, loud noises.

Speaker 4

What do they do?

Speaker 1

For for that only fans.

You hear the coins going ching ching, ching ching.

I don't know, at least that's what I at least that's what we don't have that kind of discretion.

Speaker 3

He's chewing really slow and drinking a lot.

That's your problem.

You drink too much.

Speaker 1

You drinking.

I like the glass.

I like the glasses.

It's a boot, isn't it boot?

Speaker 2

Yeah?

Speaker 1

All right?

Speaker 2

What if he's looking at the wrong clock maybe and looked back for enough.

Speaker 1

Right, look at that flashing zero saying.

Speaker 2

He's going he's thinking they forgot to start the claw mm hmm.

Speaker 1

Yeah, sorry, right right, And the waistaff is busy, the wat staff is busy with all those people in there.

Speaker 3

Right all right, tortoise, do I have your stamp of approval?

Speaker 1

Tortoise?

Wake up?

Speaker 3

He's typing.

Speaker 6

I was gonna say, remember we have a seven second delay, at least for only seven Oh.

Speaker 2

He's shaking, said, they're starting to burn with him.

Speaker 5

Man, you can have some great fanatics of the call sign with MF in there.

Speaker 1

What can the f L be?

Speaker 5

Uh huh, yeah, I got the MF.

Speaker 1

I need the L.

Speaker 2

Speaker 2

What oh, I'm just trying about fl w yeah.

Speaker 1

M F legend.

Speaker 5

There we go, good one, David, Yeah, there you go.

That's it.

Speaker 1

Someone let us know when the stakes shop gets down, like the last twenty five seconds, we need to cut over.

We need to cut over to the last you know.

Speaker 2

Minute thirty six.

And it's getting chappy.

Speaker 5

That's steak ain't shrinking.

Speaker 1

Now, and that drink's not going down either, is it.

Speaker 2

We'll go here.

She's tadling enough the bill.

Speaker 1

Eighty five dollars?

What credit card?

Credit card or casts?

Speaker 3

I'll hold the bird for a.

Speaker 1

Minute and ten seconds so we see the him hand the credit card.

I want to see him.

Poor guys get over and have him Ralph, this poor guy.

I want to get him on the show.

We gotta get someone.

Someone get a message over there.

Someone called, someone called the place.

Speaker 2

What do they want?

Do they let you sit there?

And I mean, I guess there's no sense.

Speaker 3

Of ponder your life's choices, right.

Speaker 2

We let you sit there the rest night to nibbling it or and you know, you know.

Speaker 1

Some prisoner right now on death ro was like, come on, man, I don't think he has to a computer and the live stream they suppressed.

So I want to call the restaurant, tell him to call the clubhouse booking agent.

I want this guy, I was saying.

And if that's only seventy dollars for the steak, the drink and everything around it, that's cheap.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it's not bad.

Speaker 1

No, it's not bad at all.

Does he at least get to keep the glass?

That's that's what he likes the best.

Only if he passes there?

Speaker 3

It is?

Speaker 1

Is it a boot?

Is that what it is?

Red?

A boat?

You know?

All right?

Always gonna get up?

Did he throw in the flag up?

Speaker 2

Where box that?

Speaker 5

He's going for the glass again?

Speaker 1

He goes for the boot again.

Speaker 2

You're getting the boot.

Speaker 3

Now, you get that that.

Now you get the to wait and for that for four days for that to digest and make its way out exactly.

Speaker 6

H Embarrassing yourself in public, priceless, Ye, all right?

H two fifteen, let's.

Speaker 1

Hit hold on.

I gotta well, if there's anybody watching, if there's anybody watching right now, get ahold of us.

Here We're gonna ask you a thousand questions.

Speaker 2

We want to hear from you.

Speaker 3

We want to hear from you.

Speaker 1

We want to hear from you.

It could be ice cream, hot dogs, a steak.

You know, let us know, and management will consider putting you on hand radio clubhouse.

All right, tortoise, there you go, look at this magic.

Come on, all right, tortoise.

Speaker 3

Are you good on cures in.

Speaker 1

Plasma?

How did it go?

Speaker 2

Speaker 3

He says, yes, he's good on cures.

Speaker 1

Good chilenge is being married first wife for three years, second wife twenty one.

Speaker 5

And going there you go, there you go.

Speaker 1

That's that's my tortoise.

There you go, tortoise.

That makes three?

That makes a seventh?

Threes up to New York State?

Speaker 5

M F legend.

Speaker 1

Speaker 3

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, just just just spin it, just spin on it.

Mm hmmm.

I'll I'll take it wet or dry.

I don't care.

You's all about that labor, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3

Uh, that's priceless.

Speaker 1

Gotta clean up the cow.

Speaker 3

Oh goodness.

Uh, switch cameras, Shane, get the right button, not the.

Speaker 1

Red button, Shane, Not never the red button.

Mm hmm.

Speaker 5

That's a cool toy, Shane.

Speaker 3

That is that's cool.

Speaker 1

All right?

There we go clubhouse logo.

Nice, very nice.

Yep.

Speaker 3

I will get those out tonight.

Well, I'll get them bagged up in package tonight.

Speaker 1

It's like a podologue.

Eventually it'll get uploaded.

I know how he uploads his.

Speaker 2

There you go for the holidays?

Speaker 3

Is there?

Speaker 1

It's funny you said that there, mister Hannibal.

I was thinking of doing some buying.

Some came from various celebrities.

Speaker 6

It's once again that you know, I see a new product for mister Hannibal there.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 5

I was gonna say it sounds like something he's selling his website.

Speaker 2

Mister quirky for the podcast listener says, you guys should start selling and greeting cards with ISO audio clips that play when you open it.

Speaker 1

James will get you that clip.

We'll have a g rated one, we'll have an R rated one and then full full blow keep the kids away.

You mean that's not the R rated one.

Well, while Shane's doing that, let's start going around the room here, Mike, any final thoughts there.

Speaker 4

This Friday, I'm gonna be doing that PSK operation at midnight UTC.

Speaker 1

I'll probably be at a park.

I'm not parked in a park.

Speaker 4

Right here, but I've got a trail nearby, so i think I'll go out to that now historic trail and run PSK thirty one on the first Friday, or I'll run a digital mode the first Friday of every month.

Speaker 5

This month is PSK.

Next month will be JS eight call.

Speaker 4

And you know, the whole idea is to get try to influence other people to get out and do the same thing.

You know, this isn't about me, and I'm going out and doing this and you get in contact with me.

I'd love to get other people out there activating as well.

Here comes some more lights they are going to go by here.

Speaker 5

But you know, I'd love for this to kind of.

Speaker 1

Oh no, they just took him away.

Now, they just took him away.

Rue, You don't you don't think the trust somebody yeah, his Internet cable and just kind of took it down the Interstate Andy College seventy three.

Thank you from across the pond, thank you.

Uh oh, well, well the job, did Joe Brah anything anything from you?

Huh yeah.

Speaker 2

The only thing I got is uh some I gotta do some videos and get out of my recliner.

I've said up a few times, right, mhm, yeah, you're mute, Asha, But I've come up with some ideas I got.

I got some couple of radios that I got to show, but I've got some swag to give away with it, and it's kind of hard to do that with a recorded show.

So I think I'm going to set up a live I'm going to study the schedules and see, uh well, welcome back make so I think I'm gonna do it live and just kind of go over them and take questions on them and see if we can figure it out kind of like a Nuggets theme kind of thing, but not because it's CEOs things, right, That's right, And then and then use the giveaway tool to to give away some swag during the show and then do some recordings on some of the questions that I get, maybe do some more in depth stuff.

Speaker 1

So in other words, you're you're cleaning out the shock and no not really not enough to take it.

I can I yeah, the mama, No, I'm gonna come in.

Speaker 2

It is so ready for another cleaning.

I can make another episode.

It's oh wow, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1

But bring her out there.

Speaker 2

Yeah, like my scooters in the back of the truck under the carport now, because I needed some more room for junk in here.

Speaker 1

So it's not junk and stuff stuff and treasure.

Speaker 2

Stuff stuff, that's right.

But yeah, that's all I got.

Speaker 1

All right, Mike, are you back with us?

Now?

Give us some audio?

No, no audio, no, iudeo.

You want to wave?

Speaker 3

You gotta connect your DJ mics.

We got plenty of time, man the rush.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we'll just do another giveaway.

Yeah we will.

Mhm is.

I'm gonna try to do a poda.

I'm off Friday and Saturday.

I'm gonna try to do something maybe on Friday.

I got some things going on locally, who knows, whatever, whatever whatever happens, whatever I would like to get.

I'm starting to fill the itch.

I've been hunting.

I've been I've been hunting, but I I want to just even if it's just down the street, even if it's the park down the street whatever.

So that's where I'll be, okay, Shane, Yes, yeah, Kyle, you better come back.

Not much going on here.

Speaker 3

I do actually now that Balloon Seasons rounding out, I do want to go out and and do some more poda and stuff.

So uh so he will stop giving me ship.

Shut the hell up.

The X Men are tuned up, that's for sure.

Speaker 1

You at least got built before Jason.

Speaker 3

That's very true.

That is very true.

Speaker 1

You know what your brother's like.

He's like the dog scratching at the back door who wants to go out for a run.

Just let him run, right.

Speaker 3

Oh yeah, I mean not much just going on honestly.

Uh, Like I said, now that Blue Balloon Seasons kind of wind down.

It's uh pretty boring, but uh funny story.

So there's a new TID Radio coming out that's got a p R S and so I reached out to my folks at at TID Radio and I said, Hey, are you all gonna be doing any.

Speaker 1

Demos on that?

Speaker 3

And they responded back, Hey, are you ever gonna do a video on the TV?

Speaker 1

H three?

I will get it out records.

Yeah, you gotta get up.

Speaker 3

I was like, well, I fly with it every time I go, every time I take the balloon up.

But I got email them back that that link and then they'll do the H nine.

Speaker 1

There you go, There you go, Mike, last call for you.

Can you give us a wave guy an audio?

Speaker 5

Yeah you got me now?

Yeah, alright, you're sorry about that.

Speaker 4

The laptop battery and my d G I plugs into where the plug charges the laptop, so I'm probably about to die again.

But anyway, the first Friday of every month, I'll be running some kind of digital mode, and the idea is to get other people out doing this as well.

Speaker 5

Hopefully I can get.

Speaker 4

Other people out activating as well and and generate some some steady traffic on non FT for non FT eight modes.

So that's something I'm going to be pushing here for a little while.

So the first Friday of every month at midnight UTC, which is technically then Saturday Saturday, but here in the States, it'll be Friday evening.

For all our international friends.

I'm sure you guys have international pull and have international listeners pull all around the globe.

Speaker 5

That will be midnight.

Speaker 4

UTC on Saturday.

What band please come join us.

It'll it'll change.

Speaker 1

But what everyone needs to do is put you in their hand alert.

They need to they need to subscribe to your channel, yes that bell for notifications.

Speaker 5

Right, that's right, and leave some comments and hit some likes.

Speaker 4

YouTube's been throttling me, I'll tell you that, or at least they've made some sort of change that's really cut back.

But like my views in August went back like by a quarter a third.

Speaker 1

I mean it was just it was just acid.

Speaker 4

They've they've changed something, and it's uh, it's really reduced how much they're pushing me out.

Speaker 5

But you know, get that like button.

Speaker 4

Well, maybe Shan can comments things help.

Speaker 1

Maybe uh maybe Shane could give them a call because I don't think YouTube and tid and tid radio are one and the same, so but maybe maybe Shane can put in a good word for you.

Speaker 4

All right, Sane, if you got some pull, man, I'll tell you you might have more pull.

Speaker 5

So thank you, gentlemen.

Speaker 1

I've enjoyed it.

It's been blood absolutely fun.

Thank you, Thanks for something you anytime for everybody else.

We wish everybody a good a good week.
