Liz went from being interested in true crime to living true crime.

Speaker 3Back outside and he's he's shaking, and he just looks like he's seen a ghost and he's just in shock, and he said, your dad's been killed.

I believe she was tied up.
Speaker 1Liz's father murdered and her mother found locked in a closet, her hands and feet bound.
Speaker 5I believe that she was like this when she was saying help, okay, And then I got scared and I ran out and I told my dad.
I was like, we don't know who's in here.
Speaker 4Can you convict a person of murder with no motive?
I knew it would be an unusual try, just because that question was so important to the prosecution.

I want to believe somebody is innocent until the state can prove them.

Speaker 1A quest that began the moment she learned her dad had been killed.
Speaker 2I was looking for similar crimes in the area to see if anything could be tied together or if it was the same people.
Speaker 1And continues today using her true crime knowledge to unravel the mystery surrounding her dad's death.
Speaker 2I think if it weren't for that strange interest or hobby or whatever you want to call it, things could have gone very, very differently.
It kind of helped me put the pieces of the puzzle together, pieces.
Speaker 1Liz is still trying to put together years after her dad murder.
But for Liz, one thing is certain.
She believes the wrong person is in prison for the crime.
Speaker 3There's a lot of guilt, I think pushing me.
