Speaker 1

I made as sunny sound.

I had a vision like nice, what's up?

Everybody, go Dodgers.

God, funny story, very very quick.

We were watching the World Series and this is I have a whole story about what's been going on with Penelope.

But I had to during a heated part of the game towards the very end.

Yeah, I think they were tied.

Maybe it was right, maybe it it was right before they tied it.

I had to take Penelope out.

And while I'm out, I'm like, walk in her for a minute, and I just hear all this noise in the neighborhood too.

What is going on?

Like all these people so yell.

Yeah.

I heard that, and I was like, oh my god, what is happening.

There's somebody's having a super loud party.

And then all of a sudden, I was like, oh, the Dodger scored right right.

Everybody in the Navy neighbor mine too.

Speaker 2

It was so funny.

I heard that too.

It's crazy.

Yeah, so I have a little crazy story.

I was at Suzanne's for the for the Friday night for Halloween.

Speaker 3

I went there.

Speaker 2

We ate dinner, she made dinner, and we watched the Dodger game and then in the middle of it, she gets this text from It's it's some woman that we both used to work with years and years ago that she hasn't talked to in years.

She's like, do you remember this woman, Kimberly whatever.

She's asking about this other girl that works at ABC Disney she wants she's there looking for her.

She went missing.

She was this and this was like on Halloween night.

So we're having a great time and all of a sudden, this text comes out of nowhere.

Suzanne's like, I haven't talked to this woman in years, but somehow she knows that I know this girl from work and if I know where she his and I'm like, no, I haven't.

Speaker 3

I don't really know her.

Speaker 2

Apparently, this girl was on her way driving to her parents' house in Huntington Beach on Friday afternoon, was on the phone with her mom around two o'clock and then the phone cut out and then they could not find her.

Her find my friends.

She wasn't it was was it was off.

She just went missing.

Now it's like nine o'clock at night on Friday.

Her brother like drove down from Huntington Beach to her house.

She was the dog was gone, so the dog was with her in the car, and she was also supposed to go to a party to meet up with her friends.

They never she never showed up.

So she's going back and forth, like we're it was so eerie and creepy, and we were really like worried and we don't even know this girl and we're worried about her.

Speaker 1

And wait, Suzanne doesn't work with her.

Speaker 2

She worked with her, but she doesn't like she's not friends with her, So I don't know why this they reached out to her, but anyway, so they're going back and forth.

This is going on for like two three hours.

It started around like eight thirty nine o'clock and she'd been missing since since two o'clock in the afternoon.

They called the police.

There's a like on the lookout there looking for her car pebe yes yeah, yeah, or a bolo yeah see, we know.

But eventually, finally apparently she was in a car accident and she was in the hospital and the dog was missing.

Oh no, right, and the dog had an air tag on him, so at least they had that.

But then like even before I left to go home, and like any word on how she's doing apparently she's okay in the hospital.

She was in the hospital overnight.

The dog was missing overnight.

But then Suzanne texted me the next day that they found the dog and the dog was okay.

Speaker 3

Not fucking crazy though.

Speaker 1

That's wild.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it was.

Speaker 2

It was so eerie because it kept going on and it's Halloween, and it was just so like an eerie thing, you know, just to know that somebody went missing, and it's not like her.

She she would have called like she'd last time she talked was two o'clock her phone when I was It was crazy story, but yeah, it's a little Halloween story that is really spooky.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, so her phone, I wonder, So her phone just must have went out, like the phone.

I guess the window.

I don't know.

Speaker 2

It was a It was a pretty bad accident.

But luckily she was okay and I don't think anybody else was hurt.

Speaker 3

But yeah, pretty crazy.

That was my Friday night, Halloween night.

Speaker 1

Did she get any trick or treaters?

Speaker 2

It's not really a couple here and there.

Last year I didn't get any.

I got one a bunch of teenagers at like nine, but no nobody but our street has right up my street.

They close it off and it's like Chris, you know, it's like Candy Lane, Kane Lane, but for Halloween.

So all the tricker treaters go of that area, so they didn't come to my house, so I left and went to Suzanne's.

Speaker 3

Did you get trick or treaders?

Speaker 1

So our neighborhood, as I've said over the years, is also like the candy Cane Lane of Encino, just crawling with kids' whole families, and I mean it was a circus.

Really, it was a whole cash off.

Oh yeah, it was a casino.

So I bought candy at the last minute, and I'm I'm glad I bought kind of a lot of it because normally they don't.

Okay, So our neighborhood as kind of a big through street and normally that's where people really decorate crazy and all the kids are there.

But this year a lot of people were off, like a couple streets over on our street.

And this was the first year.

Okay, So Lilah Crocodile came over.

Yeah, with his mom and his sister.

It's just tradition, you know.

Yeah, of course, if they're seventeen.

My twins are going to be eighteen this month, right, you know, but they still had so much fun.

They ran around in the neighborhood.

Speaker 3

Did they dress up?

Speaker 1

They dressed up.

I don't know that they actually trick or treat.

Didn't went to any doors this time, but they passed out candy to kids.

So they took all our candy and they went out like in front of our house, and they right out candy.

Speaker 3

Oh that's cute, that's cute.

That's nice.

Speaker 1

And then they went to a party.

Speaker 3

Oh that's nice.

Speaker 2

Natalia drove for nine hours to Tucson to see her friend at University Arizona, her best friend.

Because you know, Santa Barbara doesn't do much for Halloween anymore.

They shut it down, so her and her friend drove out there and spent the weekend out there, and then drove home on Sunday.

Speaker 1

So of course I was a nervous wreck following her the whole way.

Speaker 2

Yeah, nine hours, but yeah, she made it there and back safe.

She did that sunny, dressed as a snowboarder and went to like a bunch of frat parties.

Speaker 1

Oh that's so funny.

He has like friends and stuff now.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, yeah, he's been watching sports Sunday football and going to these different parties.

Speaker 3

So yeah, he's been out there socializing.

Speaker 1

He's not just friends with Melissa's kid, right, made.

Speaker 3

He's got a bunch.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Some of them are from our hometown too that are out there.

Yeah, so yeah, he goes to this one.

I see him all the time, this one like frat house, like on Sundays watching football.

But yeah, they were out doing going to parties Friday night.

Those are and of course you know inn Itali.

He's got like three different costumes for each night.

Speaker 1

So did Lilly.

Yeah, and it's always like shar muta, you know, skimpy.

Speaker 3

I don't even know.

Speaker 2

She was like Katie Perry one night and then like a cowgirl.

I don't even know, just you know, yeah, just a reason to get dressed up.

Speaker 1

Albie went to a rave because of course she did on Friday, called Escape and yeah, I hadn't heard from her in like I don't know, a day or something, and I was trying to get information from her.

I needed to pay her rent.

Yeah, so October thirty first, I'm like trying to figure out every month the rent gets paid differently, like one girl's dad.

This is so annoying.

You've probably dealt with this too.

But one girl's dad was going to take care of it and we were going to all venmo not Venmo, pay him, sell him.

Yeah.

So he's like, okay, so this is so I'm getting this information secondhand from LB.

Here's his cell and it's going to come up with something.

I've had to deal with that deal.

I go to zell it.

The name is not showing up in the search.

I try it a bunch of different ways.

I tried just searching for the name.

I try, I try the phone number a couple of times.

Nothing, it's not coming up.

You can send it anyway, but it's not attached to anything, right.

So then I tell Ilbie like, this is not coming up with anything.

So she's she tells me okay.

He says, are you sure, like try again or whatever, and I'm like, it's not coming up.

I'm not sending it to this number.

That's not coming up.

So she says, okay.

He try his wife's phone number, so I do that one comes up right away, so I send it.

Oh.

But meanwhile I texted him and said the guy, because I had the phone number, I was like, this is your phone number, right, this is so and So's dad.

I'm trying to sell you and it's not coming up, and he says, well, that's weird.

The other the other parents they paved, fine, what the fuck?

Well it turns out they didn't, of course, like okay, well I guess what, my phone's broken.

My what do you like to do with that kind of information?

So since his wife's paid, it worked right away.

So I was like, I was a little bit annoyed, but I was like, whatever, he's doing me a favor, doing all of us a favor.

So fine, okay.

So then the next month, well maybe it's only been a couple of months.

September had to pay for no September October, and now we're paying for November.

Anyway, point, being as I was having to, I have to track down my child to go, who am I sending bell to this month?

Is it the same that woman?

The next month it was her roommate and this this thing.

She goes, No, it's going to be this other person, and she gives me that and then she goes By the way, it turned out that the zell was broke.

It wasn't working.

The other parents didn't it didn't go through.

So Jesus that wasn't really true.

So I'm like, okay, whatever.

So I'm trying to track my own kid down.

She doesn't bother to tell me, Hey, we just so you know, here's who we're paying.

Yes, I talked to her and she's like, I'm on my way to a rave.

I'm on my way to escape in Sam Bernardino on Halloween, and I was like, okay, just let me know, like yeah, because as of tomorrow, your runt's going to.

Speaker 2

Be like right right right.

She was like okay, I'll find out, and she did.

But yeah, so annoying.

I have had the same issues before, like pay this one roommate, then the next months like this, now pay her dad.

Speaker 1

Now.

Speaker 2

I mean I'm the venmo and the zelle worked, but still it's like, you know, but it is.

Speaker 1

There's another thing that LB does where she which I didn't know was happening before.

But I was getting these random bills at for UCLA that was like you're this is overdue and I'm like, no, it's not overdue.

Like I paid her tuition and then the bill was for like sixteen dollars maybe even less, for like some short term parking it went on her ruin card.

Right, So then like this has happened three times now, like this morning, it's like your bill is overdue, like you don't want to hold put on your account, and I'm like, what bill?

And I look it up and there's just all these little like it's like one hundred and sixty one dollars because you know, one hundred dollars for this, ten dollars for this, fine dollars, seven dollars for this, and I'm just like.

Speaker 3

Night, all right, let's see kids in college.

Speaker 1

And then her bank account.

I also get the notices your bank account is low, and it's always Albie, right, it's always different for one hundred bucks, Like she's the most consistent worker out there.

Yeah, I mean yeah, right, How are Sadie and Xander who have no jobs not running out of money?

But Helby is constantly Isn't that funny?

Speaker 2

Sonny the same thing like Natalia?

Yeah, And then Sonny's so low maintenance.

I don't even know where he gets his money to do state.

Speaker 1

I don't know.

Speaker 2

Maybe it's his gambling.

I don't know what he's doing.

He does gamble on sports.

Speaker 1

Oh my god, So I have I totally forgot to tell you this last week, but I have some exciting news on the LB being scrappy front.

Yes, So what part of this did I tell you?

So?

I told you that my friend was trying to set her up with an internship at a music publishing company, which got her a little bit inspired.

She direct messaged in Instagram account for this company.

I won't say the name of the company, but suffice it to say it's a company that puts on live events, that rave events like.

It's exactly her thing that her dream job basically is to work at one of these companies.

They do like artists support for these DJs.

They discover people and then they put on a lot of shows showcase the artists.

Yeah, and they also oftentimes have artists at these big festivals and stuff.

So LB messaged the Instagram account for the company.

Speaker 3

Wow.

Speaker 1

And she only told me after the Oh.

She was like, do you think I should message them?

And I was like, fuck, yes, what do you have to exactly?

What's the downside, right, wouldn't you?

It's the new way to do it.

Speaker 2

Yes, for us back in the day, we had to walk in there and go, hey, I'm looking for a job.

Speaker 1

Here's my resume, and I told you that.

LB showed me a meme that was it was a kid.

It was what my mom thinks will happen if I walk in somewhere in person and hand them my resume.

And then it was a thing of all these people giving a standing epation and like reception.

That's funny because she was like, it's not a thing.

People don't do that, right, So good for her for realizing what the modern way is.

All you listeners out there tell your kids, because this story has a happy ending.

So she's like, oh my god, I'm so nervous to do it.

And I was like why.

It's because like the Instagram is like a hatched to my account, so like if if they don't read it, or if I get rejected, it's like personal, you know.

Yeah, So she wrote them and she she read me the message she sent them, and it was so cute.

It was like, Hi, Like, I'm a senior at UCLA and I've been following your account and your your company or whatever, and you have turned me on to some of my favorite DJs, and like, you know.

Speaker 3

Blah blah blah.

Speaker 1

She said the same, and she was like, I would love to somehow.

I don't know if you guys are looking for interns or but even volunteer, like I've have to be like, see if there's something for me to do as part of your organization.

Speaker 3

Something like that was really that's amazing.

Speaker 1

So she like the next day she was like, oh my god, Mom.

They wrote back.

So they wrote her back and they were like, hey, send us an email.

And then they she'd been looking for the email account would have emailed them, but there was she couldn't find it, right, So they sent her the email.

They're like, send us your resume or any prior experience.

Speaker 3

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

She was like, Mom, I don't have any prior experience.

And I was like, yeah, you do.

You've had jobs.

You've had more jobs than most people.

You're age right.

They don't mean music, exact business experience you're twenty years old, of course, not just tell them related stuff.

Make your job at So I helped her with her resume over the phone, and we went through all her things and just just adjusted it to sound a little bit like experience customer service and throwing events a little bit with her job at Ultrazone that she have right anyway, So she sends in her resume, gets an email back and they're like, you sound really great.

We'd love to talk to you.

I would love to set up an interview, but it's just totally informal.

It's not for a specific position, but we'd like to just we'd like to talk to you for it.

So that was like two fridays ago.

I just forgot to tell you on the show.

Right.

So she was hella nervous freaking out about it.

She was like, oh my god, I said LB, She's gonna be perfect, like just a vibe check.

It's gonna be fine.

They're just gonna chit chat with you.

Right.

So she had the meeting.

They loved her.

Three of the guys out of four that she was on with three people that like founded this company.

Wow.

Three out of the four went to UCLA.

Speaker 3

Oh.

Speaker 1

They were like, I gotta be honest with you.

We love that you go to UCLA.

Like we're all lucy Ucla alumni.

Yes, And then they gossiped about UCLA and then LB told them about she's very knowledgeable with this kind of music.

It's like, Uh, this certain guy that does this graphic art.

She goes, I met him at a rave and I was and you know he does merchandise.

And they're like, oh, yeah, of course that guy.

We love that guy.

And she's like, you know what, I had this great conversation and they said, unfortunately we don't have anything.

It gets really slow between Halloween and the end of the year, but we'd love to use you in the new year.

So she was super excited.

Literally a week later, they're like, hey, are you available November and it's this weekend.

Basically, really up she has, she's working two shows.

Speaker 2

She's going to be working at the eventing events.

Yes, that's amazing.

Oh wow, what an inspirational story.

I know, that's great.

Speaker 1

She's like over the moon about it.

I love that.

Speaker 2

I am so happy for congratulations that he'll be what A like A good Yeah.

Speaker 1

Sometimes you just have to tell my kids or just have to try.

Speaker 2

I can't wait to tell the thing you really want right right, find a way, right, That's what I did.

You know back in the day, I'm on to work in TV, and that you just got to go start, just make just reach out.

That's amazing, that's what I told her.

Speaker 1

I was like, if this is the place you want to work, why would you not, Like she was like about the Instagram messaging them.

I was like, but this is literally the place you want to work.

Why would you not at least.

Speaker 3

Try you had nothing to lose.

Speaker 1

I know.

That's so happy for Elvie.

I can't wait to hear how she does this weekend.

I know she was very and she's gotten very good at like following up.

And I told her like, as soon as you know, when you finish, you got to write them and say, hey, thank you so much for taking the time, Like yeah, I you know, yes, love talking to you guys.

Look forward to anything you have coming up in the new year or whatever.

So she did that, and then that's so great.

What a good that's I mean, that's a good learning lesson.

I can't wait to tell Sonny and Italia to do that, Like just find companies you want to work for and start reaching out to them.

Speaker 3

That's great.

Oh, I'm so happy for her.

Speaker 1

Well, Elbie, she's all grows up.

Speaker 2

She's a little scrappy Elvie, just like her mama.

Speaker 1

Getting there.

Yeah she is.

Oh that's so I love that.

Funny to see the girls though.

I won't put Xander and Sonny in this category, maybe not even sadie yet, but it is funny to see how different they've you know, they didn't grow up like we did.

So I do not think that my kids are spoiled in any way, shape or form, like legitimately spoiled, Like, no, you know what, they're spoiled.

They're just not entitled right at all, exactly, But it is funny to see the things they do not worry about that I worried about.

Like, they do not sweat money.

I know there's more coming, exactly, you know, it all goes.

I was so broke I literally couldn't buy like a CD.

I could go buy myself a sandwich.

I was legitimately buying top ramen.

I was like a cliche yet baloney, peanut butter, stuff that would fill me.

Speaker 3

But last I mean I was poor top ramen.

I mean all that stuff.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I just can't imagine.

I mean I told you that I'll be like ordered for delivery the whole foods.

Right.

She saw a recipe on TikTok she wanted to make.

Right, John was like, the hell, I'm like she thinks she can.

Speaker 2

Yes, there's something sort of heartwarming about the guide, right right, I'm going to see Natalia tomorrow.

Yeah, we're going to the bank and getting her situated with her checking account, her savings account.

And she's been applying for jobs out there in Santa Barbara, so hopefully, you know, she starts getting some work because she's gonna start working, and then I'm gonna go see Sonny in like two weeks.

There's a big Oregon game that he wants me to come to.

Oh yeah, Melissa was gonna try and go with me because Archie's out there too, but she can't.

It's like Jimmy's birthday that weekend, so it's like some family thing.

But so I'm gonna go.

And you know, I love going to the games with him out there.

Speaker 3

It's fun.

Speaker 1

And the fact that he wanted me to come, I love that.

I love that so much.

I know.

Speaker 2

It's just hard to get to though.

It's not really direct flight to Eugene from here.

I mean there is an lax but not from Burbank.

Oh but so what do you think are there is one?

There's one airline, a Vello, and they do fly direct, but they have like one flight a day, not flying anymore.

Oh they're not no, Oh that's right.

Oh shit, yeah, wow, flying great, you gotta fly like Southwest, I think.

Speaker 1

Oh, So just an update because people have been asking for it.

Everybody wants to hear about my journey.

Yes, it's going really well.

You seem like you're doing well.

Yeah, so that first week was a little tough with the two milligrams.

I'm just a delicate flower and body can only take one millogram.

Apparently, sometimes people have gotten in my DMS and they're like two milligrams.

That's crazy, that's too high, And I'm like, no, you're thinking of a different medication, truzepetide, which is what I'm taking right.

Brand name is u zep bound or Edmunjaro.

Oh okay, that's truzeppatite.

Okay, ozempic is something else.

Anyway, the zeppetide, the normal starting dose is two point five, but I only took two.

That was too much, So I am basically microdosing it because the second week, so I did it on whatever the day was, I can't remember.

Then I waited all the way till Sunday night.

I think the night before we came here.

Yeah, okay, so then anyway, I can't remember, maybe it was Saturday.

But then I took one milligram so when I was in here, I felt better when I was on one, and it totally did the thing that I was hoping it would do, which is makes me not that hungry and between meal it makes it it's hard to explain it took.

I don't have that food aversion thing anymore.

I can totally eat food still tastes good, but like I'll eat a half of what I would normally eat and then be like okay, full wow, Like my brain doesn't go like, oh my god, that tasted good.

Now I want to eat like five more.

I didn't need any Halloween.

Speaker 3

I was just gonna ask, you know, if.

Speaker 1

I didn't touch anything.

Wow.

Speaker 2

I didn't even really think about it that much.

That's really incredible.

Speaker 1

Had a couple of moments just because it was everywhere in my house because we bought all this candy, and then I was like I'm fine.

And then the next day I did have to like put it all away.

Yeah, But normally I would put the candy in a cabinet and then it would speak to me, yeah, and I would think about it.

I don't stop talking to me.

I don't want you to be like, just come here for one checond, just look at me.

Speaker 3

I'm lemonheads.

Speaker 1

And it was it was like skittles.

It was stuff I like, Yeah, but it didn't bother me.

Speaker 2

That's that's really incredible.

So it is working doing what you wanted it to do.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

And then last night it had totally worn off and I ate like probably more yesterday than I normally eat.

But I also went to the gym and I wasn't thinking about it.

I wasn't doing that compulsive like, Okay, I ate this, so now I have to eat less tomorrow.

I was like chill, yeah, okay, whatever.

I enjoyed some dinner and now I'm going to take another.

So I did another dose last night, just the one.

Speaker 2

Okay, that's great.

I'm so glad that you're doing well.

Yeah, you look right.

Speaker 1

They look good.

Speaker 3

Awesome weight already, that's awesome.

Speaker 1

I'm just gonna do it.

I think I'm gonna do it, like through this month, if I've through the holidays.

Maybe through the holidays and then I've done Yeah, okay, oh I love it, or maybe not, like maybe only until the end of November.

I'll see.

Speaker 2

And look, you did it all on your own, with your research.

You didn't need doctor knock around.

I'm proud of you.

Speaker 1

I just it's you know, it worked for you.

A lot of people out there swear by it.

I don't want to trigger anybody to think anybody needs to lose weight.

It's all about like comfort, yeat in your body.

I do believe that if it has to do with just being compulsive and just wanting to be like creating number on the scale, that's not great.

Like for me it was just ever since COVID the menopause weight, Like I just don't love the feeling of not fitting into any of my clothes.

Yeah all right, it's not like I think I'm not.

Speaker 2

A worthwhile person right now.

Maybe I should try it.

Speaker 1

It could just try meth first.

I can see you meth and cigarettes.

Yeah, all right, I'll try that.

Speaker 2

Okay, I'm going to go find somebody that sells it out in the at the you know MacArthur Park.

Yes, yeah, and then I'll get somebody that's doling it out and then I'll give you guys the name.

Speaker 1

Just walk around down there and just be like, God, I wish I could use some energy.

I could use like a boost.

Anybody got anything you want to get high?

Oh my god.

I had this friend.

We've all had this friend, right who was such a goody goody.

And then I remember her telling me like I knew her only as a goody goody.

And then she told me that she'd been like a total meth addict for a period of time in the twenties.

What you would never like a goodie like uptight.

And I was like wow, and she's like yeah.

It was kind of around college and like studying, and and then she would she really liked Yeah.

Then she would clean her house and you know, oh my.

Speaker 2

Gosh, I've never met anybody that didn't meth.

Same, that's crazy.

Speaker 1

She had all her teeth.

Speaker 2

Speaking of teeth, well, speaking of ears, even though we're not talking about ears, I I was so when I was in Florida, Wendy was telling me that it's hereditary.

Speaker 3

In the Paradise family.

Speaker 2

My brother and my nephews all get their ears like blockage with wax.

Speaker 1

And I was saying, I can't my TV.

Speaker 2

I have to turn my TV all the way up at home because I can't hear, like I'm having trouble, like when I'm laying on one side, I can't hear out of this ear.

She's like, you got to get your ears clean.

So I went on ZocDoc and I found a doctor near me that an ear doctor that cleaned it.

And I got my I was one hundred percent blocked on the right side and like ninety percent on the left.

What yeah, of blockage of wax.

I know, it's kind of gross.

Speaker 1

So did oh my God, tell me everything?

Did they first look in there and oh, yeah, you're blocked.

Speaker 2

Yeah, he looked in there and he goes, yeah, no, wonder why you can't hear anything.

And so he's like, I've and I've never done this before, and I goes, it gonna hurt, and he goes, it's just a little weird feeling, maybe a little pressure.

And he takes this like just I hold this bucket underneath my ear, and then he takes this like it's like a cone with like water in it, kind of like when you put pastry on a cake kind of thing.

But it's just water and I don't know whatever.

And he's like, I'm gonna try and loosen it up.

You might have to just take home ear drops and finish it at home.

He goes, but if I if I can get if I can't, get it all out.

So he did get it all out.

So he did my right ear where I was one hundred percent block and just chunks of wax came out.

And then all of a sudden, I'm like, oh my god, I can I could hear so much clearer.

Speaker 3

I was like, oh my god, And then like, am I talking too loud?

Speaker 1

Like?

Speaker 2

Then he did the other ear, same and then he said that at first you got to let it settle in.

It's gonna feel like you have water in your ear like you went swimming, which it did, because the left ear felt like I had water in it, he goes, But it's not, he goes, it's just that feeling.

You're gonna full feeling, but it goes away.

It's gonna dry up and then you're gonna And it did, and oh my god.

Now I got Mike doing I got all my friends going to ear doctors getting their ears cleaned.

Speaker 1

But did it have to do with like did they light a flame or anything like?

Speaker 3

No, those candle wax things are not good.

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 3

And then he says, do you use uh, do you use Q tips?

Speaker 2

And I said no, not really and he said, good, don't because I guess we just I have wax build up easy.

And he said you should come in every six months.

And then he gave me a prescription of eardrops to just keep putting it into so it softens and go and drains on its own.

Speaker 3

So I couldn't believe it.

Speaker 2

Oh, I thought, like, because our friend Craig wears ear hearing aids hearing aids, you know, and he's he's pretty young, but he was a drummer and a musician and everything.

And I was talking to him like I think I might need hearing aids.

But no, he was like, no, you're just you're you're like all blocked up.

Yeah, it was a great feeling.

Speaker 1

So did he do that?

And then did he test your hearing?

Speaker 2

No?

I only paid for just thirty five bucks to get my ears clean.

Speaker 1

Oh.

Speaker 2

I could go back and have him test my hearing.

But but if you're not now I feel hearing.

No, now I could have the TV on normal, like I don't have to blast it and Italia yelling at me from the other room.

Speaker 1

It's too loud.

I can't sleep.

Not so good.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing.

So that's my little PSA, all right, so I have a little this was this was well.

I had a hard week with Penelope, so we had given her trasodone as I was all excited about it because we compared that Sunny and Yuppy are both on trasidone, right, but the like for sleep.

Yeah, but I had given her.

She gets really anxious, like around five o'clock and just barks and barks and barks and barks, and it's not tolerable because I teach and then John has to go get Xander from school.

It's a whole thing because usual as soon as he leaves, she just starts barking at me and I'm trying to teach a class and it's really abruptive, and then I have to Then I try to text Sadie please come in the room and get Penelope, but she won't go with Sadie, right.

She just looks at Sadie like, yeah, what do you want an A to B conversation see your way out?

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's hilarious.

Speaker 1

So Sadie'll just be like like she gives me the like I can't tell you, and it's like, no, you have hard me, you know, Yeah that's hard, and I have to be like, sorry, guys, hold on a second, and then I have to try to drag her out of my anyway.

So we gave her trasidone a little bitson is supposed to get her to go to sleep or test it.

So we gave it to her a little bit earlier, a half and then she can have one hundred milligrams.

I'd given her fifty and then like closer to bedtime, we gave her another fifty.

And then she proceeded to bark and cry and whine and pace until one o'clock in the morning.

And we were beside ourselves.

We were just like, no, oh my god, is this our new normal?

Like this is so bad?

This is she can't live like this, you know.

So the next day called the vet in the morning, I was like this, my dog is like really, it's really bad, Like she just she's crying all night.

And that's with the trasa doan right.

So took her into the VET.

They told me, I asked if I could have a car.

I didn't want to put her in the car and bring her to the vet.

It's stressful, but basically our option was wait twenty four to forty eight hours for the doctor to call or bring her in right then.

So we brought her in and the vet was like, this is not going to get better, like and it was.

Let me just tell you, I was crying the whole morning.

I was crying at night.

I was crying in the morning.

I cried through the whole appointment.

And it was that kind of crying where like you can't like I was trying so hard not you know when you're a kid and you're like you don't want your parents to yet or whatever, so you're trying.

I was trying so hard not to, but I was just like crying.

Now that he's we have the sweetest that yeah best I love him so much.

But he was like, it's it's really like we can try to buy you a little bit of time, but you know, it comes down to, as you know, quality of life, like is she having good moments?

She doesn't have like a lot of good moments, you know.

But he's like, there's one more thing we can try, and that's Gabba petin, which is a different drug.

Right, And because I was like, is there any possibility that traza doone have like a effect?

Right, That's what he said, Probably not, but like it's possible, like I've seen it, but he said, it's it would be interesting that you didn't have that reaction the first couple of times she took it, but it is possible, so we could try Gaba petin.

So gave her a Gaba pentin that night.

She did much better, She had a I mean, she's still The thing was is, I was like, I don't want to drug her at four o'clock so she's not barking at five because then she's gonna just be passed out and not out right right.

But basically we gave her the medication and then we realized that she also has this anxiety in the morning now, so she wakes up and she can't get settled, Like you take her for a walk, you feed her all the stuff, and she comes back and she's just like kind of pacing around and barking.

So it's not great.

But then we decided to try to give her Gaba petin also in the morning, right okay, which has really helped.

And then yesterday for anxiety, yes okay, because she has senility and she's sundowning at night.

But now it's kind of like just anxiety all day, right because hot on she doesn't like I think, she doesn't always know where she is.

She can't get settled.

It's just like, you know, so I don't want to like weekend at Bernie's her, you know.

But at the same time, yesterday we gave her Gaba Pettin in the morning and then we gave it to her in the evening, and she was like so much happier and she not I'm not.

I don't want to make it sound like she was great.

But she went for a walk all the way to the park, which she never does, wow anymore, And she was like trotting and like saying hi to other dogs and being like her old self.

Speaker 2

So you don't, right, put a dog down that's like, yeah, exactly, has a great day.

Well, it seems like the Gaba Pettin is what needed what she needed to work, because it maybe she just you just had to like, you know, test things here and there and then that you know.

Speaker 1

He said, if the gabapatin works, that's great, he goes, but there's gonna come a point where it's not gonna work, and then there's really nothing else, like right, oh, Stony, it's I've never been through this as an adult, right.

Speaker 2

I have a few times, I know, and it's it's it's hard.

It's hard to know when the right time is, you know, and like impossible right, well, especially with what Penelope is going through.

Speaker 1

Like for Mollie our blonde lab, I mean, it.

Speaker 2

Was obvious she she she was she was diabetic, she had cancer, mass cell tumors all over her body.

She had her ear removed, she went blind and I got vision back in the one eye.

She had surgery for that.

She had her ear taken off, her her her whole flap ear taken off because that was had cancer.

And then she just tired getting all these mass sell tumors all over her body.

And then she just couldn't walk.

There was just one day she just couldn't.

But during that time, before she could walk, she would have she would be okay, but she was constant.

I had to constantly give her medication for this and that, and the tumors were like bleeding and stuff, and then you had to take care of that.

But then she also but she still had even though that was going on on her outside of her body, she still had signed, you know, like her being herself.

It was just that one day, all of a sudden, she just couldn't walk.

And she was thirteen, and it was like the first day of fourth grade for the kids.

And I was like, take a picture with Mollie because I knew I was taking her to get put down.

And I was like, take take a picture, you know, with Mollie, and they were no.

Tally was like, oh, we gotta go, we gotta go, and then I but I do have pictures.

Speaker 3

And then Natali was like, I'm so.

Speaker 2

Glad you made me take pictures with her when she found out she died.

So it's sad.

It's Adam to go with you.

He was actually out of town.

He left with Sonny that day to go to Monterey.

Oh, so I had to do it myself, and I had to do myself with our family dog.

When I was like in my twenties, my mom called me, it's like it was our dog Snoopy that I grew up with.

I was like early twenties and she called me snoopies walking around in a circle and I had a seizure or something, and he had a seizure and I took him and to the vet and I had to have him put down, picked him up, took him to the vet.

So I've done it twice and it's it's not fun, it's really sad.

And now it's like I wish I had somebody come to the home and do it.

You know, they can do that now, but it's.

Speaker 1

Called lap of love.

Speaker 2

Yeah, when yeah, so I'm hoping that that you know, she's comfortable and she's okay for now.

Speaker 3

Just sounds like yeah.

I mean it was a hard.

Speaker 1

That was a hard.

I mean I think I've cried like that in I mean like a couple of years.

I mean I was just like that kind of like just I could not stop crying.

And you know the thing is, I mean she's had a great life, like she really has.

I mean, we took her, we got her from like a bad situation, and you know these people that just abandoned her at the at the shelter owner surrender just didn't want her.

I don't think she'd ever been inside someone's house before.

You know.

Then she was with the rescue that took her in for six weeks, and then we gave her like a deal life.

So I mean, that dog is very spoiled, but she's also like such a good girl.

You know, she has just been such a kind of a dream dog.

Besides her crazy prey drive that she had at the beginning, right, she's been she's just such so so good.

Yeah, I know, she's lived.

I mean she is like fourteen and a half, right, right, that's the sad thing.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, we're all praying for her.

Thank you that happened.

I have one more thing that's just kind of funny that I was going to tell you.

Oh, save some stuff for next week.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, real quick.

Speaker 2

For next week, I'm going to talk I'm going to talk about the documentary.

Don't Date Brandon is the documentary and it's on Paramount Plus but apparently it's also on Amazon Prime and YouTube and it's Don't Date Brandon, So you guys watch it because I'll talk about it on Friday Show.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and then I'm going to talk about something having to do with it on Friday Show too.

But this is just so stupid.

Okay, I get this email.

Now, I get a lot of spam email.

When you have a podcast, you get a lot of email that are like, hey, do you want help increasing your download numbers?

Yeah, yes, we can help you organically reach you know, fifty thousand more listeners a month.

But you know, okay, but I also get them for books, huh sometimes.

But I get this one yesterday that was so stupid, and it was like, but I can't find the original email, but just know that it was it was like, hi Stephanie, with my name spell drong right with it?

Speaker 2

With they never listened to the show.

They're all like, I get pitched guests.

Yeah, right right, So imagine that.

Speaker 1

But with a book where they mentioned the woman says hi, I had the chance to read or come across.

And then it was one of my old books.

It was like, I want to say the third it was maybe it's not you, it's me or I'm kind of a big deal something that I wrote like ten years ago, yeah, twelve years ago, at least at this point thirteen years ago, and blah blah blah, and it says it's it's a person whose business is Okay, that doesn't matter I get this whole clearly chat GPT written yes email, which I ignore.

Then like five minutes later I get another one and it says this, Hi, Stephanie was with an I I owe you a quick apology.

In my previous message, I accidentally mentioned another author's book that was entirely my mistake M dash.

So I am a person who does use M dashes that have a long like dash in the middle of your sentence, but apparently I've found out that it's real big with Chatchpt.

Okay, so somebody put a thing on threads that was like, sorry to all the people that you have always used M dashes.

You know before chat Gept it seemed like you're using chatchept.

But this is so clearly this wording that was entirely my mistake.

That is such a chat Gypt thing.

Chatchypt is always fucking apologizing and like kinancing you death right.

Oh my bad, that's my mistake.

Speaker 3

That's on me.

Speaker 1

Okay, So right away I'm like, okay, chat GPT, I mixed up my notes while reaching out, and I want to make sure I give your work the proper attention it deserves.

God I've since had the chance to read about tipped Z Ranch box Set?

What right?

And I have to say it sounds absolutely delightful.

So okay, obviously I've never written a book called tipped Z Ranch box Set.

But another thing that chat gpt does is instead of saying like just the name of it, like Tipz, it'll say the whole no hold title, right, like would I get them for the podcast for like rose Pricks, it won't just say rose Pricks.

It'll say rose Pricks a bachelor roast, you know, which Nobody would say that if you are actually a person saying like, listen, I love rose Pricks, I have an idea for you know, Okay, okay.

And also this person is saying that they read about the book at the book right, and I have to say it sounds absolutely delightful.

I'm drawn to stories that capture heart, warmth and authenticity.

Now, by the way, this is also the wording that she used in the first email, huh having to do with a book that I wrote thirteen years ago?

Okay, and your series seems to offer exactly that genuine emotion, real ranch life and the kind of sweet romance that leaves readers smiling long after they've finished Super chatchypet, right please.

Yeah, the Arizona setting and your background with horses and your story is such a rich sense of place and that makes them feel beautifully grounded and real.

Cure, chatchy Pet.

I always take the time to write thoughtful, honest reviews m dash, never rushed or generic okay and gosh, because I believe books like yours deserve to be appreciated for the heart and care that go into them.

Thank you for your understanding about the earlier mix up and for sharing your stories with the world.

I'd be honored to read and review your work the way it truly deserves.

So.

Then, underneath her name, she writes, it's so chat gpt, like if chat chip because I use it for drunkish for descriptions.

Yes, and I always try to change it up so it doesn't sound so painful chat ChiPT.

But you know, if you ask chat gpt, it'll give you like the even the emoji, so it's like emoji passionate reader and honest reviewer, then a coffee cup fueled by caffeine, curiosity and great storytelling, and then a little star supporting authors through real reviews, not algorithms or empty promises.

This is a service where you pay her honey to go.

Oh, I guess review your books in different places with a non generic, real review, not an algorithm or empty promise.

So I got so fucking pissed.

Speaker 3

Please tell you called her out.

Speaker 1

I wrote her back, and I wrote, I normally wouldn't respond to something like this that chat GPT wrote.

I have to make an exception.

First of all, I didn't write a book called tipped Z.

You were correct the first time when you thought I wrote a different book, which I did, only it was about fifteen years ago, so I wouldn't really need help with that.

I love that you write this super generic line quote.

I always take the time to write thoughtful, honest reviews.

Never rushed her generic because I believe books like yours deserve to be appreciated for the heart and care that go into them.

Heart and I wrote to say you won't be generic, but didn't even know what book I wrote or when.

Also, my name is not spelled Stephanie, ending with an I it's Stephanie.

That would have taken one more second for you to double check before just mindlessly sending something out that wouldn't get a response.

Good luck, Stephanie, so chat GPT wrote me back, no way, It's the most Chatgypt I was dying.

Hi, Stephanie, time with me.

I want to sincerely apologize for the confusion in my earlier message.

You're absolutely right, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to point it out.

This is how chat Gypt talks to me all the time.

Truly, I've seen it every day.

The note you received was meant to be personal and thoughtful, and I completely understand how frustrating it must have felt to see your name misspelled and a book that wasn't yours mentioned instead.

That was my mistake, and I take full responsibility for it, and then it just goes on and on.

Thank you for catching that and for your honesty.

It's a good reminder that good intentions only matter when paired with attention to detail.

Are you kidding me?

I just do people ever work anymore these days?

Like?

Speaker 2

No, what's happening in the world?

Does everything that is Death's nuts?

Come on, lady, what the fun?

Speaker 1

Annoying?

She should have been so embarrassed and like wrote a real I mean, come on, I think I don't know if they figured it out a way for it literally for Chatchpt to just respond.

Speaker 3

Just to Red.

Speaker 1

Is that what's going on?

I don't know, but I'm like, Jesus my God, who is responding and going like, oh my god, you're gonna write like a genuine heartfelt review on my books for how much money right people pay?

I'm sure that's whatever.

Speaker 3

What a racket.

Speaker 1

I know, that's hilarious.

Normally, I mean, usually all these things just go I just trash them all, all right, But I was like, I'm gonna write, this is back.
