First up is especially Love Island that happened.

Where do you stand on it being a waste of your time?

First of all, you've told us this before, but have you where you were Love Islander last season?

But it was actually good?

And if so, how do you feel about this season?

Do you feel like it was a waste of your time?

Or if you have not, do you still feel like it's a waste of your time?

Okay, So it's really tricky because I have been watching the mirror.

First of all, I'm one of like the o G Love Island UK watchers.

When I was watching, like like when it was a long time ago, but then people got back into it.

I think that was during the pandemic and then.

Like like I think the Ekin Suit era, Like I left during that era, and that's when most people got into it.

But then when they announced the US version, I was one of the only people watching seasons one day three.

Then they put it on Peacock.

They had Sarah Hyland for like one season.

She did not give I fully blame it on her.

She didn't give it anything.

Now that's true because I did start season one of Love Island USA.

I was giving it a try because UK had already surpassed so much by then, and I did not stick to it.

Was not.

Highland, it was.

But listen, she's great on Modern Family, you know.

Like I like Mary Wells from that Bachelor, I didn't.

It's fantastic.

Caught up on more I think.

I think there's only two episodes out, so if you guys are looking for it.

No, they're three.

Oh No, Bachelor in Paradise there at week three.

Yeah.

So they just threw that at me because I thought I was a Golden Zimmer.

Yeah.

On what they're doing two, So they're doing both.

They're doing the first two episodes are the young people so far.

I'm not on the third yet.

But it's I think it's still that, but I know they're they're gonna be running both at the same time, and they're definitely Bachelor of Paradise is definitely giving Love Island knockoff yet higher budget.

It's really crazy, like the concept is very it's very knockoff right now.

They are like a bombshell situation.

They come in on jet skis.

Look, it's wild, like they're doing these elaborate like confessional was kind of like are you the one or X on the beach MTV, like you know all the things, like i may have done this on this season, but now I'm here to play like, oh wow, okay, that's the wrong.

But you know what bikinis they were.

I wouldn't say before UK.

I don't know if Bachelor in Paradise was before UK, but they were like the original American Love Island.

So like I'd always say that, like Bacheline Paradise for us walked so especially Love Island and honestly every other beach bikini show, you know, at Love Finding show afterwards came that they've been doing this.

Don't play with ABC.

Okay, they've been putting the girls with a wine glass and a big cannie and making them all make out with each other and then like get engaged in three weeks.

Yeah, like that's part.

Like they were just doing it for money on Love Island.

On here they try to get engaged.

They're like, that's difference and they.

Will do it for any Like everybody better be together.

In fact, we want at least four engagements, you understand, or your facks are revote.

They even got maybe they had their first gay one.

But last season, I was going through a very hard time.

Like I started off watching it, Aaron was not a.

Fan of it.

By the time, like I got out of my slump, he was a fan.

He was doing solo episodes on it, like it was a fun time.

But unfortunately I wasn't able to keep up with everyone because I was just like super depressed.

I was and out of the hospital.

I had family members going through like serious issues, so getting together every night to talk about Love Island didn't bring me any happiness.

It was just like all you guys are talking about this while I'm going through like something so serious.

Right, So, like I didn't I.

Started with the whole Cordel thing, like I was the one who was like, oh, this is this is Odell Beckham.

Junior's like brother.

Like I was in it in the beginning, and then by the end I think that it was cost some more.

That's where that I checked out, So I don't even know.

Yeah, yeah, that's when they started good got good because Cordell brought a girl back and chose to stay with that girl, and Serena told him about his motherfuckerhself and then Sierah did as well.

Now Sierra Leah.

Sorry, it's like wild because Sierra is trying to be Leah Like that is literally what's happening over there, because Leo was like the breakout star probably pretty much because the men of last season were trash and once Cosa happened, she had had enough.

Every girl was boohooing after Kassa.

Last season.

It was that mass so that yeah, so I understand if you miss that part.

You know, hard to keep up with.

But you know who all the people are.

Oh, I know who the players are.

I know what happened.

Essentially, I just did not go back and watch it, which is a totally different experience because the fun of Low Allen is watching it with other people.

And that's why I love Threads.

That's why I love having the conversations with you.

That's why I love, you know, having the conversations on the podcast because it's happening in real time, because watching it alone by yourself is kind of not as fun as when it's viral, because when it's viral.

You can just go on the internet and just see what everyone is thinking at the same time.

But this year it came around and I have to.

Say that I'm in the minority of where I thought that obviously that they they they essentially what I said on our live watch on Bravo We're Black, I had even and Kindrick on for a live watch.

I said that they basically made it like Pimp My Ride.

It's like you you asked for your car to get fixed, and then they were like, well, not only did we fix your car, we put a fish.

Tank in it, and then.

A serious and then the car doesn't even like work.

And it's like, I just wanted my car to work, to go to you know, to go to work.

But I feel like even though they did challenge after challenge after challenge, and like they added all these elements in it, the brand partnerships was very obvious in it.

They they did a lot of things, but the things differently that did not, like like the cost some more things.

Part of the fun of cost some war was finding out if someone was coming back holding someone else's hand and you stay faithful, Like that wasn't fun, Like it didn't make them really like work for anything.

But in movie Night and I don't know the movie Night, we miss it.

But I understand why they miss Movie Night because the main player, like which was supposed to be like Nick and Sierra, like Sierra wasn't going to be there to see it, so they had to snatch off people deservedly, which that was Like, I feel like that was a great example for them to set to other shows.

It's like, we don't have no problem.

Well, you know they are also social media before you come on here, because you will get yanked midnight and in the middle of someone else's confessional, we will be hearing you scream like bloody fucking murder that you can't do this, but in fact they can, miss Lady, they can do this.

And then all of a sudden, yes, I do.

I love this.

I heard I love that.

I was like, that's her, that's her.

You because at some point, and I'm not even I wasn't even in the comments, I heard it and saw it, and it's it felt like Landria was still was trying to talk over it because of how loud it was, like she kept talking.

She literally like I've tried to focus on both and I couldn't, and Landry was like, it's just really great to have this opportunity, you know, like it's a great opportunity to have and I'm really grateful for it.

It's just like, wow, this is so great.

I was like, oh no.

That was one of my favorite conspiracy theories throughout that and I just I don't know, I just love I actually, especially if you stayed away from social media, which I did not.

Though I didn't just see but I still had a great time.

I still have had a really good time that It's like, this was fun.

And then I also kept my own opinions with regardless of seeing all the It's not group thing necessarily, but it's like there's mounting evidence that someone pointed something out and now because that was a hot take, people will find a whole bunch of things to support that.

And I'm still like, no, I still love a like I stood on a season.

Of the most divisive seasons, which is crazy because for how produced it fell and got criticized for, there was still so much engagement that, like, there are people who absolutely despise some people and people who are such stands of the same people that it's like, oh my god, It reminds me like some of my favorite seasons of Housewives, especially like A New Jersey or No Sea, where it's like, damn, how do you even like this person?

They're like, how do you not?

What?

Fun?

Like I did too.

I don't think that it was a bad season.

I just felt bad for people who felt bored and didn't see last season or anything at all, or and this was their first time watching, because they didn't miss a lot of fun things that like you just mentioned, you know, the casa and all these things that make it fun that made last season take off and be such a hit that USA got like all the attention that it needed and deserved this season.

The couplings, Yeah, okay, like that.

Couplings is crazy, Like we needed more recouplings where they could.

Actually shove them like musical chairs.

Be with each other for a bit and not be scared of like, oh, we're gonna have to vote someone out or you know, I don't want to do that though, So I mean, I I had a fun aass time.

I don't feel like it was a waste of time.

I was having a ball and I still had a ball even though who I didn't want to win, Like even though the top four was not what I wanted to see, but I was fine with the winners, like.

Yes, Almara and Brian and Brian one.

I'm so glad that Nicolandra made it to the top two, as they should.

I thought that was that was the only thing that made sense in the finalee we're the top two.

Those are the only two couples that I would have given it to and the only reason why I understand why I did not go to Nicolandria.

I actually am not a fan of the group think that Amaya gotta just because she was the people's princess.

I genuinely think it's because Nicolandri did.

We didn't have enough time with them as a couple because Taylor White like, we didn't have enough time to get cute, like to see the magic and the cuteness because she takes it slow, and they did and it was very nice.

But I also thought they deserved to be in the top two more top three.

But the other ones really made no sense.

And I know that I loved having my mouth on the floor multiple times, like hoot it in Chris for like sorry.

What They hate each other from the beginning.

They hate each other up until how the hell I was sent peppy were They were like, no, wait a minute, for no, for I know, y'all not putting a hoodie in Chris.

Y'all think they like each other more than we do.

How I don't understand.

And I love the moments this season where the girlies and the people didn't understand how we were thinking.

That was kind of fun.

And then because I didn't even understand how we were thinking, sometimes Shelley was like, I must be making y'all real mad at home, what the hell?

And I'm like, yeah, apparently I like you, but they don't.

I know.

The whole time, I'm like, I love she and I I off the TV.

I had liked him like before I used to watch him.

I watched the people in the Middle East on how to go to the cookout pack and hold the potato Sally plates and the classes.

And then I guess people say that that's why I was able to, you know, love like him so much.

Otherwise I would probably despise him, but I don't think so.

I just felt like, Okay, so you guys think that he was a leader and he was a mayor of the villa, but then what does that say for the rest of the men, So why are the men following him business?

Then?

Like you had because men Love Island are shallow and stupid.

Rob overalls up.

So you're mad at this guy for being a leader and getting the house riled up and having us quote unquote crew, Then why isn't the crew thinking for themselves because we had Austin and Jeremiah over on the other side thinking like dumb and dummer.

So why he was making everything that he said?

So no, yeah, I think the absolutely was making points, which is so funny because I liked him before.

I did not like him on Love Island.

I absolutely hated him.

I thought that, but I like Shelly and I liked him for being a lover, which is kind of crazy because like, I don't have to like you as a person to or like how you're running this.

I mean, yes, they're all weak minded boys, but I expect that of them.

I don't want a producer, and I just feel like as would be a great behind the scenes, but I don't want to know that that's what you're doing.

I don't want to know that you are, like you're mind molding Taylor to do what exactly you want him to do.

I don't want to know that Taylor's a weak minded bitch from Ace telling him what to do in his little yappy ass being like m m okay, look, I don't want to know it that way.

But I love the way he loves Shelley.

I really liked their connection.

I don't think they deserve to be like five.

I thought they deserved to be in the finale because they absolutely have been riding with each other for the entire time they were in the pool.

They were like the people went into the pool.

They really genuely spend time together.

He'd been cutting her flowers, like.

I liked the way he courted her.

I really enjoyed and they played the game.

So I don't really understand where like that was like your vote is so wrong.

But I also feel like people who viewed it didn't like how the Islanders were also voting and like tried to get their lick backs that way.

I think I think that the way like Shelley and Sierra, or like the way their reasoning was and aces reasoning, I mean, the whole the letter situation, I almost were like that was like that's where everything went wrong.

The letters and everything.

That's where you know, but even the conspiracy that Amaya would be the first single person and the only reason her and Brian was because Brian was nice enough and they needed her to win, right, because everybody loved her, But it was because they their opinions were like very different than whatever we were seeing, which makes me believe that we didn't see enough because I'm just like, we were not on the same page most of the time.

And then it shocked them too.

And then we find then we're finding out now that the house is over with, but not even that it's over with.

We found out even though I didn't watch it.

I don't watch After Some, which is why.

I have black After we found out on After Some that hood of was was literally okay taking ass on people's faces.

Like a totally different situation.

See that we didn't understand why Shelley was so mad because it was cool, and so I got mad.

If someone ever did that, if someone.

Ever did that to hood us, she would be crying, hoot and hollering, cutting people out because everybody that walked every bomb cell that walked through the door, was a mother fucking bitch, right, Okay, literally.

Hate her man because she sat down on a beach towel in ate grapes.

She was like, wow, I'm dinged day, what are you talking about the Weatherhood I would have been, you know, would have crashed out again or not from someone just looking at Jeremiah.

Honestly, I went from Shelley being like that, being like an overreaction, and then I but I believed and understood maybe we're missing something because her reaction is severe, but what we saw didn't feel that way.

But then when Taylor and then revealed it, I'm like, oh, then her reaction action kind of makes sense because if they're not even saying that she was just shaking as they say, look she wrote his face.

And I'm like, uh huh no, no, no, no, no, wait a minute.

If it's that graphic, that Peacock won't show it to us, and I can watch the L Word on the same network.

We have to look at it a different way.

And I actually understood why Shelley was mad, and I'm like, oh, nah, Hood have played herself and now we're seeing you know just how bad hood it is, Like, no, you're right after the.

Like when that happened, I immediately knew that we weren't seeing anything.

But even if we weren't seeing anything, at the end of the day, well I felt that, which is why I didn't get mad at Shelley, was because anytime someone did anything with Jeremiah she would have she would have not had it.

And people are like, oh, let her correct her behavior.

You know she understands now, like he's not even in the house.

Give her a second chance.

No, bitch, it doesn't matter.

If someone, even one of your.

Friends did what she we saw to Jeremiah, she still would have been like, that's crossing the line, and they handled it.

Was also not mean to me because she just said I don't want to talk to you right now.

She could have sat there and cursed that bitch out like she should have, like I would have, and instead she said, I actually just don't have the capacity to talk to you right now, and then she was able a mean girl overreacting.

And I don't want to be an angry black I'm on television, even though they're already going to still make me an angry black woman on reality television.

I mean, she's totally entitled to not talk to her.

I did think that she was doing a lot, but I also didn't have that.

I was like, there must be a different context.

And I do think context matters in these situations, because if I had saw someone doing that on my man, I don't give a fuck.

If we weren't closed off or not, I'm gonna have an attitude with you.

And I actually can't talk about it tonight.

But what we saw was different than what happened, And really my whole thing was like, it looks like they made it.

They tried to make it even healed to what Shelley did, like to make it like an argument that they could have, but it wasn't.

But again, I really think that contact matters in me situations, and I think that's what people are finding out posts the villa as like oh there's like different closet skeletons coming out of like oh no, but this happened and y'all didn't see this and all these things.

I feel like that makes sense and is contextually accurate for a lot of people.

Except for Sierra.

But when it was time to vote, yo accid and vote you who the fuck was voting for Iris and Pepe?

A lot of the people that were posting Alandria was voting voting for Iris and pet For people that were posting Makelandria, it wasn't.

Me because I voted correctly.

All my votes this season, swear to God, have been like Alandria or Amaya, like I did the right thing multiple times.

I did not vote for a Hooda and Chris.

Ever, I did not vote for Iris and Pepe ever, because I knew the fuck better, like I understood that our commons is going to tell you home and pull up on TJ, which she did in the Uber black, and then they loved outside of the apartment, giving real scan of all old school style okay, And I said, oh, well, good for you, but that's why I didn't vote for you, you know what I'm saying him?

And then people are like, oh, is this is this?

And then they're getting mad at people in the in the fucking villa because I'm okay again once again, I'm a half requarter.
