JRPG Report Episode 296 - New Octopath Traveler 0 news, and more!

Episode Transcript

Hello everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the JRPG Report.

My name is Dalton Souter, and this episode, well, really, there's not a ton.

I'm not going to lie to you guys, we're still in the drought after the Tokyo Game Show.

But I do have a few things, so let's just get into it, shall we?

Publisher and developer Square Enix and developer Doki Doki Groove Works have released new information and screenshots for Octopath Traveller 0, detailing the ruler of the Kingdom of Ederus, Pardus the Third, A Traveller's pious Seoris, Karenda and Zerk, and more of the town building system.

Set on the continent of Ostera, the world of the original Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler 0 is a story of revenge and restoration surrounding the divine Rings.

This time we will introduce the tyrannical monarch plotting to seize control of Austera, your companions who will stand against his ambitions alongside you, and a few of the unique and unusual facilities you can construct through a town building.

Pardus the Third, the absolute monarch who rules the Kingdom of Edibus with a wealth, power, and fame all at his command.

His insatiable greed knows no bounds, and he initiates an invasion to seize Osterra in its entirety.

The embers of war scatter and spread across several nations, igniting countless tragedies.

Can you, the ring bearer chosen, shatter the tyrannical monarch's ambitions?

The greed of the Master of All looms over the land of Osterra.

And then we have Pious, who will be joining us as a companion, as a cleric, a Bishop of the Order of the Sacred Flame, a distant relative of the protagonist's mother who showed him great kindness when he was a child.

He now hopes to return the favor.

This name, I'm going to guess it's Sayoris.

So Sayoris URS or Sayorisse, not really sure, but she is a dancer, a travelling dancer who has a unique artistic taste.

She possesses extraordinary vocal talent and seeks a partner who shares her sensibilities and can join her on the stage.

Karenda, who is a merchant.

She grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the Riverlands.

She worms her way into people's hearts with her warmth and friendliness and uses her bit great business sense to ensure she never misses an opportunity to make some leaves.

And we have Zerk, who is a scholar who researches soulstones and is regarded as an eccentric within academic circles.

His talented assistant is attempting to gather funds so that he can study a gargantuan soulstone.

And some of the new things that they have announced that you can do in the town building.

There is a monster arena that we can build, a museum that we can build.

And looks like that's what they've announced, a monster arena and a museum.

I'm in both those things I love.

So let's see.

Octopath Traveller 0 is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series Switch to PlayStation 4, Switch, and PCV Esteem in the Microsoft Store on December 4th.

NIS America and PH3 have released a major PC update with 1.4 Point O for Legend of Heroes Trails Through Daybreak, bringing in support for DLSSXCSSTAA and much more.

This update follows the last one, PGH 3 pushed out for the Legend of Heroes Trails Through Daybreak 2.

So if you've been looking for that, definitely keep your your that is now available actually for you to download some of the quality of life stuff too.

That was added was a added Steam timeline markers for BGM changes.

Added support for source display and BGM info, offered choice to have Steam verify the game's integrity when the crash while running with Steam enabled, and a few other things that were just Steam related.

And the final?

Like I said, there wasn't much.

The final thing that I have for this episode.

Koi Tecmo has launched the store pages in digital pre-orders for Atelia Risa Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack, including the DX versions of Atelia Risa Excuse Me, Atelia Risa Ever Darkness and The Secret Hideout, Atelia Risa 2 Lost Legends in the Secret Fairy, and Atelia Risa 3 Alchemist of the End in The Secret Key ahead of the new releases launching for PC, PS5PS4 and Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 next month, November 13th, The Atelia Rise The Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack is priced at 8999 for the bundle, with each game priced at 3999 individually.

Note that if you buy any of the individual releases for the DX games, you will not get a discount to buy the trilogy bundle.

There is also no upgrade path for existing owners, which is kind of a bummer.

Atelia Rise's Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack launches November 13th for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

And like I said, unfortunately, that's all I could scrounge up for you guys.

Very, very large drought going on after Tokyo Game Show, but hopefully things will start trickling in again maybe later this month or into November, you know, cut for the coming holidays.
