JRPG Report Episode 294 - Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Coming Soon, and more!!

Hello everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the JRBG Report.

My name is Dalton Souter and this week we've got some actual news.

Hooray.

So let us get right into it, shall we?

With Gung Ho has put up the Trails in the Sky First Chapter Nintendo Switch 2 Edition eShop page ahead of the games launched later this week revealing some details about the upgrade.

The current eShop demo for Trails in the Sky first chapter is just the Nintendo Switch one version.

There is no demo for the Trails in the Sky First chapter Nintendo Switch 2 edition, so there were no details on the technical upgrade available on the switch game.

The eShop page mentions reduced loading times, sharper graphics when docked, and also up to 40 K 30 frames a second or 1080P60 frames a second.

There is no mention of the handheld performance right now, going by the wording which you can view on the eShop page.

Trails in the sky the 1st chapter launches worldwide September 19th for Nintendo switch 2, PlayStation 5, Nintendo switch and PC via steam.

Koi, Tech, MO and Gus have released a new synthesis gameplay video for for Atelier Rezzler, Rihanna, the Red Alchemist and the White Guardian ahead of its launch later this month on consoles and Steam.

Today the today's new video goes over the Atelier Rezzler, Rihanna, the Red Alchemist and the White Guardians synthesis and recipe morph system.

The video follows the recent battle gameplay and opening video with theme song.

And if you missed pre-orders going live, you can pre-order the game digitally on PS-5, Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Atelier Rezzler, Rihanna, The Red Alchemist, and the White Guardian will release on September 26th for PlayStation 5.

Nintendo Switch in PC via Steam.

The PlayStation 4 version will not be released outside of Japan.

Publisher Forever Entertainment and developer Maki Games have announced that Rise Eterna 2 will launch on October 9th for PlayStation 5.

PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X&S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and GOG.

The tactical RPG is set a few years after the events of the original Rise of Turner, which was released in 2021.

So key features from the game is There are 24 missions taking place across various locations and biomes combined with strategic and tactical combats, challenging or decision making skills.

Depending on the type of tile, units that are the type of tile that units are standing on, their attacks or movements can be affected in different ways.

Also, try to catch the enemy at a disadvantage.

Test your various combinations and strategies at will and choose from over 20 type of gems to enhance your hero's abilities and weapons.

Multiple factors, including you, their own background effects, their skill sets.

Grow stronger, adapt to new challenges and unleash your full potential.

Radical Fish Games have shared a new trailer for Alabaster Dawn, a new action RPG which was unveiled over a year ago, confirming that the previously announced demo will launch September 18th for PC via Steam.

That is the day after that I am recording this.

If you've not followed it, Alabaster Don is the next project from the Cross Code developers and it has you playing as young Juno, the outcast chosen who is tasked with restoring a ruined world brought about by the Shadow of NICs.

The demo is scheduled, like I said, to go live September 18th at 15 CET.

It's also in development for PC and unannounced consoles.

Publisher Square Enix and development for Art Tank Corporation have released a new trailer for Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD 2D remake introducing The Seabed, a new setting for adventure in Dragon Quest 2.

The Seabed is where players will find the unknown city of Almea, a suspicious ship wandering the ocean floor, a vault of treasure, a sanctuary of mermaids, formidable foes, and the memories of the world that chronicle the unknown history of Olive Garden.

Dragon Quest one and two HD remake is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox series, switch to switch and PCV esteem and Microsoft Store October 30th.

Digital pre-orders are now available for all platforms and probably the biggest news that came out during the time of this episode is Dragon Quest 7 even reimagined is being remade and it launches for PS-5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch to Xbox Series X&S and PC simultaneously with pre-orders going live on the 12th.

The base game is priced at 5999 with a deluxe edition at 7499 that includes DLC items and 48 hours of early access.

A collector's edition is also available from the Square Enix Online storefront priced AT24999.

The Switch to physical release is a game key card.

Let me just this is a news show, right?

So let me just go ahead and say Nintendo has been just getting L after L after L as far as like doing things that benefit the consumer.

There are patents that they've done recently, the game key card things and the absurd price of some of their games.

They they stay losing in that in that way, but they stay winning because Nintendo fanboys will just continue to shell out money to them no matter what.

So you know, it is what it is.

Alongside the announcement, Valve has already marketed Dragon Quest 7 reimagined as Steam Deck playable.

It isn't verified because Valve says some text might be too small though to read.

Square Enix's official Japanese website has an FAQ with Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch version information.

It confirms that there is no upgrade path from Switch to Switch 2 again L.

And you can transfer save data between and You cannot, excuse me?

You cannot transfer save data between versions.

What is going on at Nintendo, dude?

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagine will launch February 5th, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS-5, Xbox Series X&S, and PC via Steam and that is going to be awesome.

That's one of the Dragon Quest games that I always had an eye on but never got to play.

And I've heard it's really long and I'm all about long, sprawling RPGs.

The Pokémon Company has announced paid DLC for Legend Pokémon Legends Z to A in the form of Mega Dimensions during today's Nintendo Direct presentation on the 12th.

It will be priced at 2999 is now available for pre-order on the eShop.

It will be compatible with both Switch 1 and Switch 2 editions of Pokémon Legends ZA.

The DLC includes Hollow X and Hollow Y apparel items from launch day, which the story content set to release February 28th, 2026.

Pokémon Legend Z to A launches October 16th for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mega Evolutions that they have locked behind.

A DLC includes Victory Bell, Halucha, and Malamar, including others.

2 newly discovered Mega Evolved Pokémon that are only available in this DLC are Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, and that's just another Nintendo L.

Atlas has released a demo for switch 2 version of persona 3 reload via the Nintendo E shop.

Like the existing versions of the demo, the users can play through the stories opening up until the first major boss battle and save data can be carried over to the full game when it launches.

Persona 3 reload is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PCVS steam at Microsoft Store and those are the versions that I recommend, but switch 2 version will launch October 23rd.

The Pokémon Company and developers Gamefreak and Koit Tecmo have announced Pokémon Pokapia or Pocopia if you want to get weird with it.

So first Switch to yeah, this isn't really a JRPG, so I'm not going to give you guys too much info on it.

It's basically Animal Crossing with Pokémon and that's it.

Publisher Nintendo and developer Intelligent Systems have announced that Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave is coming out for the Switch 2, and it will launch in 2026.

In an overview of the game, they said the heroic games have begun.

The newest entry in the Fire Emblem series is set to enter the arena.

The debut trailer provided a glimpse of the intertwining story, characters, and turn based tactical RPG gameplay that awaits players when the game launches for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for Xbox Series and Switch 2, as well As for PC via Microsoft Store, the company has announced.

Microsoft Store Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth first launched for the PlayStation 5 on February 29th, 2024, followed by PCV Esteem and the Epic Game Store on January 23rd, 20, 25.

The 3rd and final game in the remake trilogy, which is yet to have been titled, will also be available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch to NPC via Steam, Epic Game Store and Microsoft Store.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will be expanding the major platforms moving forward, series director Naoki Hamaguchi said in a tweet.
