Maybe in your neighborhood, yeah, in your neighborhood, yes, And there was I could hear them while I lied it laid lied down in bed.

Yeah, it was horrendous.

I brought some audio.

Maybe we'll play it later.

But it was beay route.

It always is.

We're not usually there, but security care and everything else go off and the audio is always and they don't go off just by the audio, they go off by the light in the sky from the booms.

Oh wow.

There were a couple that I'm confident we're gunfire And it was an interesting evening.

But what can you do?

I mean, it is La after all, you know, we like to party no matter.

What, indeed we do, and nobody, nobody wants to follow the laws, and there's no reason to follow the laws because there is no enforcement of laws.

I wonder if people were like, it's raining, there's not going to be any fires because of my fireworks.

Always intense in our area.

And I looked at my wife at some point and said, you think it's going to be a little less.

Tonight because it's raining.

And it started.

Later than normal, like normally before the sun goes down, you're hearing him.

But so it stated.

It started a little later, but holy hell, I mean comical.

It was really that bad.

Comical.

Yeah, it was absolutely comical.

And some of them will light up the front yard and then some are just big booms.

And then there was some like I said, the cadence and the the you know, the clip and the sound of it.

I'm like, that's gunfire.

That's gunfire, Like that's an aka, that's gunfire.

Maybe people were like, you know what, it's the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of America.

Let's recreate those almost rolling along.

I mean literally the.

Boom that some of these makes do sound like cannon fodder.

And yeah, it was an interesting evening, but I did it.

Was a good Dad stayed up till about twelve thirty.

My son kept looking at me like are you gonna make it?

But he was very excited and he put out the spread and it was quite sweet.

Oh, it was so funny because my wife has been dealing with some planter fasci itis or.

Something, and it's so painful.

Oh, my gosh.

Yeah, she's she does not make a peep about anything, the strongest person I know.

And she's like wow.

So he put together the spread and it was just beautiful.

It looked like a nine year old boy put together what he thought we should be eating.

Was it like cheetos?

I went, yes, some peanut m and m's Yes, one Hawaiian roll.

It was just it was very sweet.

But we had had for dinner.

We had had typhood and it was very very nice.

But I did stay up and then got up and I'm here and everybody's here, and we got Heather Brooker in for Amy King, Kono's here.

I never know what Kno does at night anyways, or if he gets sleep.

Do you ever sleep rarely?

I get a solid three hours a night for sure.

Jeez, it's not bad.

And I can do that once, maybe twice.

If I do that a third day, nobody will want to talk to me because I will.

I wanted to have a glass of wine at dinner last night, and I was like it'll no, you'll go'll wreck my world because I know I have to be here in the morning, so I don't know how you do it.

So he's freaking bouncing off the walls.

It was yeah, it was one of the I used to do it all the time.

I was known for it here, like when we did events and stuff like that.

When I oversaw marketing and promotions and stuff.

Staying here not a problem.

You just get things done.

You do what you have to do.

And now I'm like, I've you know, I gave you over half my life has been in this place.

And that's what we're looking at, this big southern California storm, heavy rain, potential thunderstorms, high risks of flooding, and of course we'll probably mention more than once today about the big parade and the issues that will you know, come with that today.

In response, Governor gave Newsoen he directed.

Newsom said that the California covers Office of Emergency Services to pre position, rescue personnel and high risk areas, and he's encouraged Californians.

In a course, all right, This is a really devastating story over in Switzerland.

Forty people were killed and one hundred hurt after an explosion at a upscale ski resort in the area of Crans, Montana.

How does that happen?

Well, they're still looking into it.

They say it was not They do not believe it was related to any sort of terrorism or anything like that.

The investigation is ongoing there, but they say it was an explosion that started a fire, and it was people partying for New Years, you know, people getting together at the ski resort for New Year's so very so story over there.

Yeah, horrible.

You've got the Rose Parade.

I told you it's going to be coming up throughout the show.

Obviously, there is a lot of rain in the area and will be.

It looks like it's stopped.

It's going to stop between ten and noon.

It seems like it's going to slow down, but not for that long because we have more rain coming this week.

The rain overall is supposed to last through Saturday, with little intermittent breaks in the rain, but the full storm was supposed to last through Saturday.

Also going to be very soggy for the twenty twenty six Rose Parade, starting at I believe eight am this morning, that's right, is the kickoff.

So in Chicago, President Trump says he's removing National Guard troops.

He's already done that here in Los Angeles.

He's also doing it in Chicago and Portland.

He made the post on truth socials, saying his decision is due to crime being reduced in those cities, but he says that troops could return if crime begins.

To Oregon.

He says, if it weren't for the federal government stepping in, you know, there would still be major problems there.

Did you expect anything else?

No, he's going to take credit for sure.

I'd just like to apologize for the last year.

And I've been rough.

I've said some things that were hurtful.

You know, you mind your local business, you mind your local you know, home, and you take care of stuff.

And the fact is, we get a lot of news that really doesn't pertain much to us.

I'm a big local fan of local news.

What's going on here?

The leadership is still under the microscope, along of course with Mayor Bass.

For the fires specific Palisades has been when it started, had been burning for like less than two hours or something, when people were already starting to pick apart how it was being dealt with.

So, you know, la FD was not the you know, boots on the grounds, the men and women that are out there fighting the fires, but higher up as to some of the decisions that were made.

And so as we look at the first anniversary again the Los Angeles Wildfires one year later is a special to our special that we'll be doing hosted by Michael Monks coming up on January seventh at seven pm, and he'll no doubt dive into this.

But first anniversary a week away, people are still questioning those missteps in the firefight choices and still a year later unanswered by the LAFD and.

Mayor Karen Bass.

And she's up for she's running again one in June or something or.

Yeah, she announced a few weeks ago that she will be running again, you.

Know, and I don't I'm not saying she's a bad person or anything.

I don't think she's an effective mayor and she has not done and so and I know, La, we're just dumb enough to just go, well, what we.

You know, and potholes, do the basics, get the easy ones, right, you know, fill the potholes, have a good police department, those types of things.

All right, History was made in New York zoron mom Donnie became the mayor early this morning.

In a small ceremony, the thirty four year old Democratic Socialist took the oath of office administered by Attorney General New York Attorney General Letitia James.

He says it was truly the honor and privilege of a lifetime to be the mayor.

He is New York's youngest mayor in more than one hundred years and had a lot of ambitious promises to his constituents.

So we will see he.

Delivers free pizza for everybody, Yeah, no one.

It was free bus service, free buses, which will cost the City of New York eight hundred million dollars a year.

Also, he's going to try to freeze rent increases and on rent regulated apartments, so a few things he's hoping to do there in New York.

We'll see, Yes, we will, and he's gonna do it with your dollars.

Have you seen the video on this and I heard Heather talking about this earlier Disney cast member jumps in the way of what is said to be a four hundred pound prop boulder.

Here as someone who loves and has made some props for some film and for a pleasure like making prompts.

Once a prop is four hundred pounds, it's no longer a prop.

That's a boulder.

That's a weapon.

Yeah, that's just a bulk.

If it's a four hundred pound real boulder or a four hundred pound fake boulder, it's a four hundred pound boulder.

If people have not seen he yet, go and watch it, because this man literally steps in front of this boulder that goes off the tracks and is hurtling towards the audience crowd, and there's nothing between the audience and the boulder except this man who steps in his cast member and physically puts his arm up like he's just gonna, like, you know, knock it over, and it ends up just taking him out.

So this isn't out here.

This is Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.

They have this thing called I've Never seen I've only seen videos of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and it's a live stunt show, right, But the physics of this watching it, and apparently this was a cast member who is a stunt performer themselves.

Yeah, so probably had some idea and put himself in that position anyways, because you can't tell the physics of what's going on until they meet.

So you go, okay, it's roll at a pretty healthy speed.

He jumps up, puts his body in the way of it, and then when it meets his body and head, you can calculate roughly how much this thing went because you're like, oh wow, yeah, and it supposedly is is blown up too.

It's like a it's filled with air as well as whatever.

And it's still four hundred pounds.

Well it's very large, but you know, I don't know what's going to come of this.

But this is not the first time I've seen that boulder be a problem on this stage, because there's other videos before too.

But anyways, kind of crazy.

So President Trump has delayed new tariff increases on a polstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities for another year.

Back in September, he ordered twenty five percent tariffs on the kitchen cabinets and a polstered furniture.

Those two effect in October.

With the rates they were supposed to rise to fifty percent and thirty percent by twenty twenty six.

However, in the last few moments last night yesterday, he signed a proclamation delaying those or postponing those tariff hikes to twenty twenty seven.

He's coming under criticism for failing to stabilize prices, partly due to tariffs imposed on a variety of goods.

All Right, California is delaying that cancelation.

We had heard about of thousands of commercial drivers' licenses held by migrants, So this is going to cause, of course, another stir with Washington.

You got seventeen thousand migrant truck drivers whose licenses had been revoked and now they can keep them for another sixty days.

This is going to enable them supposedly to retake tests, do whatever's necessary to remain legal.

But now you have US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy reacting by threatening to cut one hundred and sixty million in federal funding to California if the state doesn't mean meet the January fifth deadline to revoke those unvetted foreign tricker licenses.

So we had a couple of those crashes and things like that that were just absolutely heinous that put this on the front page.

So we'll see how that plays out.

I hope this isn't one of those things Trump wants us to do it, So we're just not going to do it, rather than looking at it saying what's best not only for the drivers, but the public and everything else.

U Justice Department is reviewing five point two million pages of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Uh what are we doing so many files?

I mean I trust me.

If you put them out in a digital form where the public can get at them, they will be sifted through.

You're never You're not going to get a better sifting.

Than the America.

Yeah, they will sift the them.

And they will find every little nook and cranny, h and any insights that need to be found.

But much the number is way higher than was previously known.

That's crazy.

Yeah, it's insane.

So they're seeking to enlist roughly four hundred employees just an effort to go through this stuff.

And uh, this is expected to run from you know, starting on Monday to January twentieth, and it's just going to be, you know, massive.

But I think that the public, American public, has been.

Very clear that we want these out.

We want to see them, we want to know, especially if there's very important people in there, people that are making decisions for the American people.

We want to know who these folks are.

And uh, if they were just rich people that have been invited there, or if they were you know, because whether Trump did any petaph phelya or not, I don't know.

I know everybody wants to jump on it in hopes of but I will tell you this, he had to have known.

He had to have known.

And the one thing that raises an eyebrow to me is, and I've said this to handle, if I was the Biden administration and I had those documents he did and they knew Trump was in there and they didn't put it out, that's weird to me.

That would have been easy pasy to put that stuff out when he was running and just squashed it if they had that kind of evidence.

So this is all logic.

I'm sorry.

I would jump on the emotion train with everybody, but I'm just not who I am.

And then the other thing is.

There is there was something that Epstein said, I think in an email or something that said something along the lines of this dog still still won't bark or something.

Yeah, And that impression to me was like he was gathering information on anybody who did in power to have that, and that he still wasn't able to get it on Trump.

That's the way I read it.

That could be hopeful or wishful thinking.

Not that I'm trying to protect the man, but it would be a whole hell of a mess.

Now, if you told me Clinton I wouldn't bet on go Yeah, that's I bet you he would.

That's just me.

I guess I have no evidence of that, but he You know.

So Sprinkles, you guys remember Sprinkles cupcakes.

They were so popular, yes, super trendy.

Everyone's taking pictures of it.

There was a Sprinkle's vending machine in the Americana and well apparently they suddenly are closed and shutting down.

Candice Nelson.

She was the founder of Sprinkle's Cupcake, but years ago sold the company to a private equity confirm who I guess just told employees yesterday that the stores and everything would be shutting down suddenly.

And she made the post on I saw her video on TikTok where she was talking about it, and it was really hard for her to see something she had built to be closed suddenly.

And I guess she thought it would her cupcakes would live on forever.

Well, you know, not when you sell them to Yeah, you know it just something like that is built upon the passion, and that's why you know, Ben and Jerry had stayed until more recently, had stayed very connected to the product.

And once you sell it, you just never know.

Yeah, nobody will care about your business and your creativity and your ideas more than you do, because once you pass it off to somebody else, their goal is money.

Their goal is not to up hold your vision and your values that you created with your company and your ideas.

I remember being a young kid trying to buy my first drum set and looking at you stuff, and some guy's gonna sell me a drum set, and he's like, is this much money.

I go, that seems how he goes, it's got a lot of sentimental value.

I go, not to me, Yeah for who?

Yeah, So it all depends on your perspective.

These people come in, they buy it, they see it different.

And that's sad because that is a huge American success story that grew and grew and grew in.

Southern California too, which is really special and.

Completely out the door now and nobody knows what's going on.

That happens a lot with private equity though, just what they do.

Yeah, they're just squeezing it for everything they can, and it sucks.

It always is a bummer.

So we all celebrated Christmas, well not all of us, but many of us celebrated Christmas.

If you went the route of a natural tree, which I used to love.

My son has never known one because we have the artificial one now.

But if you've got that, you've got that live tree sitting at home, you can drag it down the stairs and all of that, but there's a deadline coming up if you want to get rid of that Christmas tree the responsible way.

So most cities and counties offer some form of free curb side pickup or drop off or any of that stuff.

But it's only for a limited times, so keep that in mind.

Cut your tree into pieces, place them inside your green compost bin is one way.

If it's too big or you can't cut it your place it the curb next to your green big bin on trash day if it's larger than six feet tall, schedule a bulky item pick up through my LA three to one one.

That's a great service.

By the way, this is one of the things I will tell you when I love something, and this is a great service.

When you have palettes or big things that you need to get rid of, go my LA three one one.

They'll come grab it for you, set a time for you to bring it out.

And if you're in an apartment or condo or something like that, you just place your tree on the curb on your neighbor's trash day.

Well that seems odd.

On your neighborhood's trash day.

Oh that makes way more sense.

I'm like, what, and then just kind of run out.

But also, wouldn't your neighbor's trash day be the same as your trash day?

Yeah, but I thought it was implying like, hey, put it in front of their house.

You've got a condo, you don't got this kind of you don't have a front yard.

You know.

Whenever we have a lot of like extra trash, my husband and I we make a run for it to the near This is terrible.

I shouldn't have amit this, but the nearby apartment complexes because they have big dumpsters and we'll put some extra stuff in there.

Because our trash can sometimes don't hold all of.

Our trash, so order another one.

You can order another trash can, yeah, and they'll pick up both.

Because our trash guy, I feel like doesn't like us.

Sometimes he skips our house.

Well, yeah, because you guys are untrustworthy because we're so those are the.

Ones who go over to go over to the other trash can.

Yeah, and my cousin he does their trash and now he's got to take all that stuff.

Now it's I don't know, you could get too trash ben Yeah, you have to rent them or what you pay whatever you pay for the trail extra we have uh yeah, we have two of trash bends and then we have the recycle and the Yeah.

Because I have a shop and I have debris.

I'm gonna do that because we have, we end up having so much trash.

Is I'm not a I don't keep a lot of stuff, Like if I'm done with something, I throw it away where you know, I don't.

I don't do that, and so we end up just having like a lot of trash every week.

Uh So, some interesting things happening over in Saudi Arabia.

They are quietly permitting some residents to buy alcohol, and this breaks with a long standing taboo.

As the Islamic kingdom looks to expand its tourism sector.

They're hoping to attract high earning expats and modernize their conservative image.

They also this is a follows a few steps that Crown Prince Mohammed ben Salmon has done.

He is lifted, he has lifted the band on women driving, allowed cinema and music festivals, and he's hoping to rain he's trying to rein in the country's morality police.

So they're really trying to modernize it.

In one of the steps, we're doing that.

And now listen, it's not going to be for everybody.

It is just going to be for people with premium residency status, they're going to be allowed to buy beer, wine and spirits in the stores.

And this is where they recently had that comedy festival as well that was still controversial, where all the comedians went over there and took huge paychecks to perform.

I wonder what I've been to Muslim countries.

I was driving with a tour guide in Jordan and I'm like, what is that building down there?

And he goes, it's like a club for men.

And I said, what kind of club for men?

Because that looks like a like a strip joint.

Yes, yes, And I said, why do you it's a Muslim country, why do you have a strip goes, well, you know, we have tourism and and I said, so that's twenty four to seven for tourists.

Yeah, you guys are going right, So it's not just for the tourists anyways, all right, California is expanding its low cost divorce to more couples, particularly those with kids.

Simple divorces aren't that expensive.

It must be when you get into complicated parts of it.

But this will allow to you know, more couples who choose to amicably call it quit success this low cost of force option.

But if you if it's amicable, it shouldn't be expensive at all.

I mean literally, didn't they have like we the people or these these places legal Zoom or whatever used to be around that you could just go and get the paperwork done and you sign it and.

Off the paper and fill it out and then get it notarized kind of a thing.

Yeah, there's no reason to make it, drag it out or make it expensive.

Now it's just four hundred bucks for a divorce.

So we even kind of hellowing this over the past few months the Kennedy Center, a lot of people dropping out of performing in the Kennedy Center.
