It's the book, it say It's Superman, and now Superman Dalliant fight her for truth.

And Justice, Champion of the Week and the oppressed, who has appeared on Earth from the outer reaches of the universe, with a physical structure never before attained by mortal men.

Superman who is stronger than a locomotive, faster than a speeding bullet, who walks about among human beings, disguised as Miles Clark Kent, news reporter for the Daily Planet.

When we last saw him, Kent was traveling westward toward Boulder City in the Buffalo Hills with Asa Hatch, elderly scientist and photographer who cover the dedication ceremonies at the New Pioneer's National Monument, at which Governor Al Carson is to be the chief speaker.

But the gang of Pete Flore's Western bad Man has sworn revenge on the Governor for his reform administration.

They have also determined that Kent and Hatch shall not hinder them.

As our story continues today, several hours have passed, it is evening, and unknown to Canton Hatch, Pete Flores plans another attempt on the life of the governor at midnight.

Meanwhile, the governor himself all unknowing cat with his secretary in the privacy of the executive mansion.

The governor's life has been threatened, so he locks and bars his gaze.

Absolutely, no, admit, But that's preposterous, man of the gods.

Speaker 2

Threw him against the gate and shattered the lock.

After that, the rest is easy.

I'll just get them complete the open.

Ah.

Speaker 1

That does it.

Speaker 2

Now, I get this fellow hidden before Hatch comes back behind these pushes.

Will do.

Speaker 1

We are he comes to?

He'll think twice before he pulls another black jack and right his hatch.

Quick back to Clark Kent.

Speaker 2

This way, mister Hatch.

The gate wasn't really locked after all, It wasn't Blessedly has certainly seen that.

Speaker 1

What you do?

Speaker 1

You know the camera?

Oh yes, mister hatch, Yes, now that I stop to think.

How did you stop to think, my dear fellow, the joke said joke?

Speaker 2

Look here, this is mister Kent, representative of the Daily Panic reporter.

I'm terribly sorry, but you know the rules, Goose.

I don't understand how you, gentlemen got in the grounds.

Speaker 1

The gates will not, mister Keighan.

We've got to see the governor at what he's Surgeon Kegan.

Speaker 2

But the governor never sees reporters accepted as daily press conference.

Speaker 1

Reporters confound you, Ken.

Speaker 2

You know I'm not a reporter.

I'm an old friend.

I wish to see our corson at once at what's you here?

Sorry, gentlemen, and now if you wouldn't mind leaving, Governor Carson has retired, and I'm afraid good night, gentlemen, looks like we're locked out, My dear fellow, I apologize, I can't imagine what.

Oh that's all right, mister hatch Terry just doesn't remember you, doesn't remember me.

Don't you believe that he remembers me perfectly?

By joe a flutter?

Ken't I begin to believe you're right?

There is some danger hanging over the Governor.

I'm sure of it.

But what made you change your mind?

Speaker 1

Keegan?

Speaker 2

He knew me at once, but he refused to admit it.

Wouldn't never us go to the governor.

Don't see what that means?

No, I'm afraid I don't.

But use your brains, man, Keegan knows.

He must know that if I go to the Governor tomorrow with this story, Keegan would lose his job.

Speaker 1

Well, I should certainly think so.

Speaker 2

Then, my dear fellow, which his brain is the nose on your face?

Keegan isn't afraid of what I might say to the Governor tomorrow or at any other time.

Speaker 1

Why not?

Speaker 2

Because the Governor will not be here tomorrow.

An attempt will be made to get rid of Governor.

I'll cast him this very night.

And Keegan knows it mister Hatch you're right, yes, and the question is what to do?

Now, come on, we'll take a look around the grounds.

Good idea, there's anything going on, we may be able to stop it.

Come on quietly now, keep in the shadows, can take what's the time of you?

Speaker 1

You any idea?

After ten?

That's all I can tell you.

Quiet, be careful.

Speaker 2

I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.

I stepped into a push.

I see, can pard if someone observed to send this a god or the police in a day?

Speaker 1

Yet trying to make too much noise, let's edge around that corner.

Stop, what's up?

Someone's there just ahead of you.

Look out where you are up at your hands.

I guess we got to this time.

Grab them boys?

Yeah see yeah, no, wait stopping so you're making a mistake, Sure we are.

Speaker 2

What are you doing snipping around the ground?

Day we've just left the mansion?

We oh, you've just left the mansion?

Speaker 1

Have you friends of Governor Carsons?

Speaker 2

I suppose it comes to that, my good pillow, we are, and if you will kindly conduct us to the door, the Governor's secretary will identify it.

No, Willie man, it's a good stall, and I'll just take your right up on it up.

Think, oh boys, back to the front door.

Speaker 1

I'm telling you you make the mistake of your life.

Speaker 2

Amy so, but we ain't taking no chances.

In case you don't know it, there's a twenty four hour watch on this place.

Yeah, and how come you have to break in the gate if your friends with Governor Carson's breaking the gate?

It was open, Sure, it was open after you cracked the lock.

Here we are ring the bell.

I'll never mind.

Here's somebody now, I reckon they heard the noise.

Hey, what's the sorry to body of mister Kigan.

But we just picked up these guys snooping around the grounds.

They say they came from a house and of the Governor's what about it?

Friends of the governor, So they say, take.

Speaker 1

A look at them.

Will you come on, come on, Keegan, identify us.

Speaker 2

We have business to attend to cut up you well, mister Kigan, captain, I think you'd better take.

Speaker 1

Them right down to jail.

I give you my word.

I've never seen either of them before in my life.

What are you out of your mind?

That's enough of that.

Speaker 2

Come on, you guys, rush these bumped into the wagon.

Not me officer song unexpected intervention at the hands of the police.

He's the hatches led off to jail while Superman leaps away into the night.

Meanwhile, the minis pass and deadly danger comes ever closer to Governor Carson asleep in the executive mansion.

In less than two hours more as will strike.

Can Superman discover the plot in time to save the Governor?

Tune in next time and follow the story.

Speaker 1

Up in the sky.

Whoop, it's a bird, It's a pain, It's Superman.

Speaker 2

Superman is a copyrighted feature appearing in Action Comics Magazine.

Speaker 4

All right, so just a few comments here.

First off, we found out that the Governor's assistant or whatever Keegan is really in league with the bad guys.

That reminded me of that time in the Yellow Mask, one of the Yellow Mass storylines.

I think it was the doctor Dilgram's assistant when he turned out to be in league with the Yellow Mask.

But they do that several times on the show.

I've noticed where the assistant to the good guy ends up being really in league with the bad guys.

I love that part at the gate where we here again we see some rough and tough golden age Superman Justice, and Superman throws the guard or whatever against the gate so hard that it breaks the lock.

And I'm like, Okay, I'm gonna need you to calm down a little bit there, Superman.

Oh my goodness, rough and tough, Golden age Superman action.

And and I also love how at the end there Clark just completely runs away and leaves Asa Hatch to take all the heat.

And I understand why I did it, because he can't really do the governor any good being in jail.

But that was still I'm sure Asa Hatch didn't appreciate that too much.

But there we have it, folks.

We are halfway through this storyline, and of course the bad guys are still after the governor.

And is Superman going to be able to save the Governor and get Hatch out of jail.

Guess we'll have to find out.

All right, everybody, we are going to take a quick break and then we'll be right back with part four of Buffalo Hills.

All right, everybody, let's go ahead and get into Buffalo Low Hills Part four.

This one aired May twentieth of nineteen forty.

Speaker 2

Enjoy preventing the transcription feature Superman.

Speaker 1

Up in the sky who it's the word, it's the same.

It's Superman.

Speaker 2

Now Superman, mighty visitor from another world who came to work when the planet Krypton was destroyed by quakes and explosions.

Superman who can twist steel in his bare hands, keep tall buildings at a single bound, racist feeding bullet wood target and we walked about among human beings.

This champion of the week and the oppressed, in the person of Park Kent used reporters the West would have to cover the dedication of the new National Monument at Buffalo Hills.

And it discovered that the life of Governor Carson was threatened by a gang of criminals under the lead of Pete Florad And and Hats has gone to the Governor's mentioned to warn him, but has been seized by the police as dangerous character.

Feeling that he could do more good out of jail than in it, Kende leaps off and avoided arrest.

Speaker 1

But our story continues today.

Speaker 2

It's getting tought midnight, the time set by Flores for his attempt against the governor, But Kemp does not know this.

Determined on joining Hats and then breaking out of jail, he has given himself up only to me.

The surprise, Cats is in solitary confinement and can't sell mate the stranger, who mistakes him for a member of the Flores gang, realizing that this may give him the information he needs, can't leave the man on.

Speaker 1

Listen, Okay, the jailor's gone.

Come on, lend me a hand.

Thend your hand.

How what are you trying to do?

Listen, don't be given me that step.

I know what you're in here for.

Speaker 2

Oh you do?

Speaker 1

Sure?

Speaker 2

I heard what the guy said.

They can't you sneaking around Carson's place?

Well, I reckon you a leader playing the same record.

Yeah, I should wonder at all, quit Bay and self causing I know Florrie's Tuesday.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, I know something else.

I know why you're here.

Oh yeah, and I know what we're all supposed to do tonight.

So come on, come clean.

I'm here now.

I I'm not sure about this.

Oh quit it didn't Pete say he send a guy in here to help spring me tonight?

Pete Florrie has told you that, did he?

And you know mighty well he did?

And you know why too?

How maybe I do, But I'll never take chance.

Just why is Pete going to get you out of here tonight.

Speaker 2

H lay off, that's stuff.

I'm help me with this, maddress.

Come on, an actress.

What are you planning on doing with that?

Listen, wise guy, I'm putting it down on the floor because that's where I like to sleep.

Speaker 1

What do you think I'm going with it?

Speaker 2

Looks to me as if you were going to build a fire with it.

Will if you ain't smart, I am going to bring fire with it.

That isn't kid, ain't Nobody can hear you.

Speaker 1

I know why you're here.

Look, what's your name?

My name's Money, all right, Money?

You know that?

Sure?

He said he'd pick a guy that nobody know around here.

So there the two of us.

Speaker 2

When the riot begins, Saint yeah, I sent fire to the mattress.

There'll be a lot of hollering and smoke.

They've come running down here, and you and me will make a getaway.

That sounds good money?

Then what then we beat it up to the governor.

There'll be a fast car waiting for us at the corner.

We grabbed that, beat it uptown and joined Dutchy Gale outside the house.

It sounds easy.

What's Dutchy going to be doing?

Dutchy, you'll break into the mansion drank out the governor.

Well maybe we'll have to help.

Speaker 1

We better take this business kind of easy.

Speaker 2

We might not be able to pull it off.

Listen, kid, you don't know.

Keep Flor's but don't come on.

Laura's ain't gonna stop there.

What do you mean, Oh, he's got lots of things up asleep Glora's hands.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Sure.

Speaker 2

If this don't work out right tonight, well just wait and see what happens next.

Go on, money, What will happen next?

I don't think you know as much as you think you do.

Oh I don't, Well I do and sell to you now.

You quit trying to kidn me.

Give me a hand with this macis and get ready with your slugger.

Speaker 1

What do we do?

Speaker 2

Or we start up the fire like this seat.

That'll do it fine.

This stuff goes up like hey, I kept the match on purpose.

That's going to make quite a place money.

You'll choke us all to death.

The other guys will begin hollering in a minute.

Then well, when the keeper comes in to see what's up, you slap all over the head.

Speaker 1

And we swipe his key.

He that smokes getting mighty, But the thicker it is the better shot.

Where are you.

Speaker 4

Here?

Speaker 1

They're coming?

I hear hey, he drums, and the nady who brings the sound haven't much by now Where are you can see it?

Think?

I think it's time part can change in the superman and they can't see a thing.

Speaker 5

I'll duck right out past that keeper he gets in my way, Sorry and stop, go apologize an out of here and down that Carritor quick.

Speaker 1

There's a brick wall.

I remember that.

With no patients on the jail yard up here, we go right through it, up the yard and up up.

Speaker 5

Oh whish I could stop and get Hatch out of there.

There isn't time now, orry Heaven that fellow was right.

There is the car down there.

They're waiting for a jail break.

Then they'll be after the governor.

I've got to hurry, got to get their furs up, up and away.

Speaker 2

Leaping skyward, a weird figure streaked through the air toward the executive mansion of Governor Trsan Red Cloak.

Streaming in the wind, Superman shoot through the night like a meteor over the mansion, where a single light burns in the window.

He hovers, then drops slightly down.

Yeah, there's the governor inside that room on the second floor.

Speaker 1

It's just going to bed.

Speaker 2

I'll crawl along the ledge, raise the window and walk in on him as Clark kent.

Speaker 1

I'll tell him I got a ladder and climbed up here.

We are evening, Governor.

Of course there from the world be fighting.

Please, I had to get in and this was the only way, right.

No, they won't.

Don't you understand all that's been taken care of?

Or has it?

What do you suggest assuming for the time be English was taking this rule?

Wait, there's a car pulling up right now.

Just be on the wall.

They're coming.

Speaker 2

Governor, You've got to let me meet them here in your place.

What I say, you've got to If it's floor is, now's our chance to get him once and for all.

Let me go.

I'll have you tails for this.

Speaker 2

Sorry, govern I had no time to like you got to be here with those fellows in the room, and I've got to be here along.

Speaker 2

Hurt him, but it will keep him quiet.

Ah, Just luck him in that doesn't after all this for his own good.

They're coming where the governor's bathroom, that is, they find me in bed.

I'll never stop to ask whether I'm here or not, Scott.

They certainly didn't waste any time.

I got a letter, and they're coming right up.

Speaker 1

A good thing.

I turned off the light.

Speaker 2

Okay, okay, there he got boys laying there an event, all right, grimy, hry.

Speaker 1

This boy wakes up in coming hurry up?

Speaker 2

Oh where's that smooth?

He's all right, Gee, he ain't hollering.

Speaker 1

And have so much.

Where's Glory?

Speaker 2

Well, money, reckon, it won't go no harm to tell you now.

Glory said he'd wait till week.

And they stick into the house himself and go through the rerecord.

I mean, Pete Flooringes is back there in the mansion right now.

Boy is he got nerve?

Well, he thinks all the angles.

Hey, Mike, hein this the lake?

Hey, look throw the bridge right over the river.

Yeah, the lakes just ahead?

They still dope?

Fine, hold up, Mike, Okay, good look, money, I can't see a thing.

Pitch black too, Okay, drag him out of there quick, hurt it half his hands like, yes, right over.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I was the governor and they brought me into the river.

Wow, they will getting far with that to get out of the bag.

Speaker 2

There there we are up into the air, up up, Then they go up in their car.

I'd like to follow them and see what they're up to, but I can out of what they said is true.

If Boris is back there at the executive mansion, up.

Speaker 5

Up and away, Governor locked in that closet, Sorr is prowling around the house.

Speaker 1

If I ever hurried in my life, it's got to be now.

Hurry there.

Speaker 2

Back along the white road, flashing over the rooftops of Boulder City, went to the burden flight.

Superman swoops down to the lead outside Governor Carson's window.

Speaker 5

Here we are fight on again down nobody in the room, no sign of a struggle.

He's still knocked out and locked in the closet.

Governor Carson.

Thank Scott, it's empty.

He's not there.

Speaker 1

Where is he?

What happened?

Where's Floris?

Governor?

Governor Carson?

Governor Carson, where are you?

Speaker 2

Superman runs through the silent rooms, but not even an echo comes back to answer him.

Speaker 1

The governor has vanished.

Where is he gone.

Speaker 2

What has happened as people has found them at last and taken sudden summary vengeance.

Meanwhile, what of old Lisa had we last saw being let off to jail.

Union next time for the past moving incredible climax.

I know the story of Superman.

Speaker 1

Up in the sky.

It's a bird, it's the pain, It's Cooper Man.

Speaker 4

All right, welcome back.

Got a few comments here.

First, at the end of the last episode, we saw Clark running away from the police, and then at the beginning of this episode today we see that Clark is in jail, and even though the narrator explained how that happened in everything, it's still a little bit annoying because the cliffhanger at the end of the last episode really had no purpose other than being a cliffhanger.

It's like Clark is running away from the police, but he still ends up in jail, even if it's of his own free will.

I guess you could argue that, well, maybe he just didn't have time to think and running away was his first inclination.

We also have a pretty nifty coincidence here.

Clark just happens to be put in the cell with one of floor Race's men, and of course Monty spills a bunch of information to him.

Pretty convenient there.

I love the way that Clark was just egging him on.

He's like, you, I don't think you know as much as you think you do.

Mony that was funny.

Now at the Governor's mantion, when Superman escaped, by the way, it was so nice of him to free Asa Hatch on his way out.

But at the Governor's mansion he turns into his Superman voice as he starts manhandling the governor and throwing him in the closet, and it's like, well, does that mean the governor knows he's Superman now or did he change costume or did he just change his voice?

So I guess all of that is sort of left for the listener to have to ponder.

That scene where four Race's men are carrying out Superman out the window and driving them down the road and throwing them.

Speaker 1

In the lake or whatever.

Speaker 4

That is hilarious.

Is so analogous to the comic book storylines.

In fact, several of these past few storylines have really felt like comic book type storylines.

And that was just a classic comic book type thing, right, there the bad guy's carrying out Superman thinking that he's the governor, and we have another cliffhanger here at the end where Superman gets back, he finds out that the Governor is not in the closet that he put them in, and he's gone and Floorace is not there, and so we have this pretty cool cliffhanger here.

Hopefully they won't screw this one up like they did the last cliffhanger.

All right, everybody, that is going to be a rap for today.

Thank you so much for listening again.

If you have any comments or you want to just tell me your thoughts on this storyline so far, you can send your comments to ot r msh at gmail dot com.
