On the last episode, we saw that doctor Stinky Breath was having a pretty bad day and the Purple Ninjas thought of a way to cheer him up, which doesn't sound good because if he gets cheered up, he's gonna start thinking about a da plan to take over the world.

As Doctor Sinkybreath and the Purple Ninjas walked out of the blimp, they saw how Steve's fire had gotten out of control.

What is going on out here?

I thought to you were going to roast marshmallows.

It just started burning as soon as I lit the fire.

Now I must go cry and go back to burn.

But why was everything burning?

Meanwhile, a and Jaden were zooming down the hill on their way home when they realized the air was getting very hazy and stinky.

The air smells even worse, smells like an old rotten fish on fire.

I don't know, but I've never seen the air so smoky like this.

It has to be connected to that smoke we saw earlier on the top of cloud Hill.

As Ava rode home, she realized she had a little bit more time before she needed to be home, so she's trapped in her jetpack and zoomed up in the air to see where all the smoke was coming from.

WHOA, I was right, said Ava.

It looks like it's coming from that landfill.

Whoa.

She could hear the alarming sounds of fire trucks in the distance, all zooming towards the scene.

It looked like everyone was getting called into this emergency.

Whew.

Well, it's a good thing our fire department is gonna handle this one, because I'm hung ye.

Ava landed back on the ground in her front yard and went inside for dinner.

Little did Ava and Jada know how serious this fire was about to become.

Back up in doctor Sinkybret's blimp lab, he was not so batiently awaiting the marshmallow he was promised happen ninjas fair ah my mushmallows.

Now the sorry bust of fire be cap getting beggar and beggar, and it almost ate me alive.

Then I dropped the bag of marshmallows in the fire right accident.

Later that night, Ava and Jaden both received an emergency call on their walkie talkies from mister Jim to meet at HQ, and both landed in front of HQ at the same time.

Hayva, do you think this is about all the smoke everywhere?

Yeah, it smells horrible.

They opened up the door to HQ with their access card and walked inside.

Hey, mister Jim said, Jaden, have you seen how smoky it is outside.

Even I could barely breathe.

Hey, guys, I'm glad you made it in.

You see, I just got off the phone with the fire department and they need our help.

The fire department needs our help, said Ava.

Yeah, that's how bad this is.

There's a fire that started at the landfill across town and it's spreading fast.

They haven't figured out a way of how to contain it and stop the fire before it spreads into the forest.

And if that happens, HQ and the whole town will be in some serious trouble.

All right, then, let's get to work and don't worry.

The three of them walked over to a big table where mister Jim had already started gathering a lot of information.

Shush, there's a lot.

So, uh, is there anything strange about this, asked Dava, Like it doesn't make sense to me.

Why isn't the fire department able to put out the fire?

Ava asked a good question, because I'm afraid to state the obvious.

But you know, because they probably tried this already.

But did they try water?

You're right, Jayden, Yes, that is the obvious solution to most fire.

They did try water, but the water actually made it worse.

How's that possible, said Jaden.

Whenever I dump water on my campfire, it goes out instantly.

Well, that's the difference between this fire and your normal wood fire.

You see, water works on a wood fire because it cools down the heat of the wood.

Heat is an essential part of fire, But with other fires, like a gas fire, water is ineffective and it can make it even worse by spreading the fire.

Whoh so is this some kind of gas fire?

Asked Dava.

It's just a landfill though, it's not like there's a broken gas pipe around there, right, Yes, ay, but you're right, there isn't gonna be a gas pipe.

But I suspect there's some kind of gas being emitted by the landfill that's causing this fire.

Oh you mean the landfill is gasy.

Yeah, that's probably why it smells so bad, said Jaden.

Oh yeah, I remember in school a few weeks ago that when organic material is broken down, it can emit a gas.

I don't remember what kind though, What was Oh was that?

And how in the world does a fire not get put out by water?

None of this makes sense.
