Speaker 2I'm one of your hosts, Dan Strongerbeard Lombardo, and with me, as always is pushing the buttons, making the magic happen.
Speaker 3He's the man, the myth.
Speaker 4That's right.
Go on, man, Oh you know, not too much in the dream, that's right.
Speaker 3You.
Speaker 4Yeah, I'm amazed.
We're going to try to do this about Scott.
Speaker 3Yeah, I mean things may just fall apart without him.
Everyone knows he's the glue though indeed.
Speaker 2Together, that's right, He's ask the greatest, He's the great thing to ever happen to treck ass.
Speaker 3Just just ask them, I'll tell you.
Speaker 4That's right, American hero.
Speaker 3Exactly.
We're lucky.
We're lucky to have.
Speaker 4Oh yes, indeed I do see an incoming signal.
Hold on there it is, Oh, we are lucky to have and he came back to us.
Okay, I'm just here to make sure that you guys know that I got I laid some some food out for you, okay, some water, and.
Speaker 5There's emergency contact on the fridge.
Okay, so if anything happens, you just go ahead and call those numbers.
Speaker 6All right, You.
Speaker 3Guys all set We're good.
Where's that?
How about you vacation?
Right?
What's that?
No, we're not playing Nintendo.
Speaker 5Okay, yeah, so we're just we're just chilling here the h at the bed and Breakfast.
So we're not ready to back up and hit the hit the road with the motorcycle.
So I just wanted to make sure these guys started the podcast certainly, so I got a good start, you know, didn't you know, start without me?
Speaker 4Welcome to bedcast.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, all right, we'll.
Speaker 3See you guys in a couple of weeks later.
Speaker 4Is that I was trying to get at, like, uh, who's taking care of of Chad in the basement?
Speaker 3No, No, Chad's Chad's under that bed.
Speaker 4Oh okay, okay, that's right.
Speaker 2Okay, they got a Chad carrier, the Chad Carrier.
Speaker 4Oh man, fair enough, fair enough?
Speaker 3All right?
Speaker 4Well, uh, maybe we should get to the news and talk about the craziness that's going on.
Speaker 3All right, Star trek News.
Speaker 4All right, so our first news story comes to us from trekmovie dot com.
I kind of think this is a cool idea.
We'll see what you think.
Speaker 7Dan.
Speaker 4Apparently there is a pitch for a return to basically Scott Bakulam may be coming back to Star Trek.
There is a pitch for a President Archer TV series.
Uh, this is coming to us from one of the original Enterprise producers and so apparently him and and uh Scott back have been keeping in touch throughout the years.
And as a joke, I guess Bacula had said during uh during Star Trek card, hey, when are we going to make an Archer show?
And then he goes, oh, yeah, that's funny.
Uh huh, And then they went, oh, wait, and they thought about it, and apparently they have a concept.
Uh.
This stems from Believe it or Not.
The stems from canon from the episode in a Mirror Darkly Part two when Mirror Universe Archer sees the record of the of Prime Archer, and if you look at this thing and read it, it mentions that he was a like part of the Federation and and all those sorts of things.
And they also mentioned lightly that he may have potentially been the President of the Federation.
Speaker 3So I think he was the first president.
He was like, right, George watsh Right.
Speaker 4So the.
Speaker 2Wesley learned in elementary school that Jonathan Archer never told a lie that's uh, and.
Speaker 4Had woulden t Yes, that's right.
So yeah, so the show would be Archer's time as president political show.
I'm not gonna lie, man.
I think that's kind of cool.
I think that's a cool concept.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 4The other thing you have is like Archer in the show was such a cowboy and just doing whatever he wanted running, you know, running and gun in and not really a diplomat, and now he's forced to be one.
So that's kind of an interesting concept.
Speaker 3You know.
Speaker 2Yes, yes, I think it's a cool idea.
Yes, if that show was out, I would watch.
Speaker 3And of course.
Speaker 2I'm not happy about Star Trek progressing in three different points in their history right now.
I'm not happy that they're progressing in two different points of their of their history.
Last year when Picard was out, it because you know, we had Discovery, Picard and Strange New Worlds all at the same time.
You know, this show is about the future.
Decide when the future is and tell stories about it.
Don't tell us stories about the future.
The future's future and the future's future's future at.
Speaker 3The same time.
Speaker 2Gets messy.
Yeah, it gets muddy.
It gets messy.
It gets muddy.
You know, keeping things straight.
Is is difficult.
We can't do this story here because we've already established it at this time.
You know, this happens, and it's it's already happening now.
You know, in the twenty fourth century, Scotty is on the Holidack at the Enterprise d and he's he's amazed, he's amazed by this technology.
The computer said, you can show me my old ship.
Well, yeah, oh, you were troubleshooting a Holidack eighty years ago.
Speaker 3Why is it a yeah, so that's already happening now.
Speaker 2And to be telling stories in three different time periods along the same same timeline, it's.
Speaker 3No, not a good idea.
Speaker 4Yeah, no, I agree with you.
Speaker 3They sat the world's run its course.
Speaker 2Cancel pre you know, back Girl, Back Girl, Starfleet Academy, and then you can do your Archer, your Archer show.
Speaker 4I love that you're already like, I don't need this show.
You can go away, It's.
Speaker 2Fine, I don't, man, come on, you know, you know, watch every I watched every single episode of Discovery, some of them twice, some of them three times, and it was work every single time.
Speaker 3Yeah, watch them.
Speaker 2I watched them because I was obligated to watch them to do this show no other reason.
If I was not a host of Trek Cast, I would not have finished I would not have finished Discovery.
Speaker 3The thought of having to do it again A right?
Right?
Speaker 4Yeah?
Speaker 3No, yeah, I wanna.
I hear you body, I'm getting old, man, I.
Speaker 4Don't all right.
Our next news story comes through us from the Hollywood Reporter, and uh, you know, let's let's play it while we still can.
We are now post uh a mountain deal.
We are now living in a world.
So you know, what is that?
Speaker 3Like?
Speaker 4What is going on?
Well, we got our first fallout apparently, remember is that.
Speaker 2Gonna be a thing we're gonna are we gonna say pre s guidance, guidance, we.
Speaker 4Might, we might?
Speaker 3Is that gonna be the term we use?
Speaker 4Yeah?
I don't know, we'll see.
So remember Paramount had three CEOs, the Triune of CEOs.
Do you remember this?
Speaker 6Yeah?
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, so I did that.
It's still about it.
Speaker 4Well they don't anymore.
A couple of the co CEOs have been have been let go.
Don't worry though.
They received eighteen million dollar payouts, so they're fine.
They got their golden parachutes.
Speaker 3I wasn't I wasn't worrying Daniel.
Speaker 4Okay, well, just don't want you to be too concerned.
Yeah and uh and yeah.
So so the new boss has taken over.
David Ellenson has begun his time.
I did watch an interview with him on CNBC where he talked about one of the big things they want to change pretty much immediately is right now, they have three streaming services.
They have Paramount plus, they've got Pluto.
I think the third one is is Showtime if I remember it.
So they're all three different units, three different teams, three different server systems, and he's like, that makes no sense.
It should all be under one thing.
So they're gonna try to combine them all, which also is a great way to get rid of a ton of people.
So that's gonna be the first move.
So he's saying that they're they're looking to to spend some money and become the destination capital for content, which is what they all say when they're starting out, right, So what does that mean?
Who knows, But they want to get better talent at Paramount, so good luck.
One thing that I saw buried in some of the reporting that I thought was interesting is apparently the NFL has an investors steak in Paramount, not CBS but actual paramount, which which is kind of interesting because also earlier this week it came out that the NFL has an investor steake in ESPN.
So the NFL is like picking up TV rights here and there all over the place or owning them.
It's kind of interesting.
So yeah, yeah, huh yeah.
So we don't know what major changes we'll see to content anytime soon.
We'll probably start hearing more about that in the next in the coming months, but.
Speaker 2I think it's going to be the spun Bob Star Trek Academy halftime show next year, that's what it sounds.
Speaker 4I will be really interested to see if they re sign Kurtzman because this contracts up at the end of next year, so it'll be interesting to see.
Yeah, I agree with you, but we'll see what they say about that.
Speaker 3You'll dismissed, so you need to bring in Patrick's just to say you're dismissed.
Speaker 4Sheer hubrits.
And then our last news story comes to us from trekmovie dot com.
This is being shown right now at STLV, the big Las Vegas STARGEIC Convention.
But we are now getting to look at Wave two for Nassel the action figures.
So we had seen Wave one, we'd seen Wave three and four.
Finally we're getting Wave two and we are getting was it Wharf on the sale?
Oh, Sailor Wharf edition, So we're getting Sailor Wharf, Sailor, Jordie uh Valaris and Romulin Commander generic Romulin Commander.
So we're getting to see a little bit of what they come with.
So Jordi comes with the arch, which is kind of cool, so he can say computer arch.
The Commander comes with looks like some sort of computer console and a bunch of hands.
Yeah, uh Valarius, what is that thing?
That white thing with the.
Speaker 2I don't know.
Speaker 3I'm on my phone.
So it's like, okay.
Speaker 4When she comes with the boot, the magnetic boot, so that's interesting.
And then uh Wharf comes with two different bodies so you can have him in the jacket or out of the jacket, so that's kind of cool.
He comes with the declaration that they read about the Uh isn't it his uh motion?
Speaker 3Yep?
So let me ask you, since you could see it, I think it's his left knee.
Is it stained?
Because if you watch that, if you watch that movie, he must have scraped his knee in one of the takes.
Speaker 4Oh, okay, and.
Speaker 2Bleeding through the pants.
I saw it in nineteen ninety four and I can't unsee it every time I watch Generations.
Speaker 3I could see that.
You know, he's like bleeding through.
Speaker 4Yeah, one of the No, it does not look stained.
But he does come on a plank.
He does come with a plank, though, you can have him walk the plank.
Okay, just what I wanted my Space Action figure to come with a piece of wood.
Speaker 3It doubles as a tongue depress.
There, that's right, that's the right.
Speaker 4So oh, william huh what's that Williams.
Williams says that the thing I was asking about on Valai, it's uh, it's after vapor raising the pot what was left?
Speaker 3Okay, yeah, big thing of mashed potatoes with a spoons shirt.
Speaker 4Yeah yeah, yeah, so there you go.
I mean, hm, I'm excited about these sell toys.
They look really cool.
Speaker 3So yeah, I haven't seen any of them in person.
I mean, I haven't ordered any of them.
Speaker 4I haven't either yet.
Speaker 3I haven't seen much shelves either, But I don't buy as much modern stuff as they.
Speaker 4Used to, right, same same I.
Speaker 3Might pick up.
So stel is going on right now?
U uh huh.
Speaker 2I'm still friends with a lot of people on Facebook that I met when I used to go there right fifteen years ago, so a lot of that stuff is shown up in my feed.
Everybody in costume, all the cost players.
It's great.
I love seeing all that stuff.
But at the same time, I'm like, oh, I want to go to there, yeah, yeah, what's uh.
What's interesting is you know a guy follow his name's Eric Allen Hall.
He's a big cos player.
He was at my Star Trek wedding as as Data as Carlos from South America.
Speaker 3So he had the makeup when he had the the fedora and the and the zoot suit.
Speaker 2But he's he is always famous for for cosplaying Data And it's funny because you know, we all age and when he was younger, he looked a lot like Data and he's kind of right Hollywood term, he's aging out of the role right right.
A few years ago he got a wig that has curly blondish hair and the last few years he has started doing Chief O'Brien and he has aged into the Chief O'Brien look very well.
Speaker 4Hilarious.
Speaker 2Yes, so a couple of pictures of him with a with a really good wharf and a really good Kira.
Speaker 3And it looks it looks cool, very good.
Speaker 4That's cool.
Speaker 3I love seeing his his stuff.
Speaker 4That's funny.
When when my dad was younger, he looked exactly like Eric Ostrada, like Dead Ringer.
Okay, he has it looks like yeah, yeah, it doesn't look anything like him now, but back then, yeah, it was.
It's pretty funny, so nice.
Yeah, all right, well we should probably get to our main topic, Star Trek extrange, New Worlds?
What was it through the lens of time?
So all right, let's just get fun.
Speaker 6Will now comment?
Speaker 4All right, the fifth episode.
We're halfway through season three.
Yeah, this episode was interesting.
Uh, a little bit of a recap on here this You want to recap the episode again, you can recap it.
Okay, this is just from Wikipedia.
Junior medical officer uh Dana Gable and Archaga's documentarian brother Bento during an archaeological expedition led by Chapel and doctor boyfriend exploring an ancient building UH related to attempts to unlock the immortality.
When Gamble picks up a glowing orb it explodes, destroying his eyes, is transported back to the Enterprise, while the rest of the team, joined by Spot and Leon, are trapped in the building and Bega fails to re score.
Gamble's eyes and scans indicate the table is brain dead despite appearing to be conscious.
He waiting discovers that they are in a prison for extra dimensional parasitic teams called the VESDA, and they navigate the building's unusual metaphysical properties to escape until Esseemly triggered by herd born DNA, recognized as Gamble, as possessed by the VESNA, and attacks him.
Gamble is apprehended by security and placed the brig.
He kills his guard, escapes Jake, Scotty sam Kirk, and Chief Engineer Pelia Ossage interesting to control the ship.
Uh three the other VESA.
Oh yeah, it kills him and Scottie tramps the sirt A transport.
I mean that's pretty accurate.
That's what happened.
Yeah, yeah, would you would you think of the episode?
Speaker 2I don't know what's going on this season, but I just I can't get into it.
Yeah, I really, I really can't get into it.
It took me a couple of tries to uh get through this episode mm hmmm.
And I only watched it once, and now that you're talking about it, like, I'm not sure I watched the ending because you know, it took me a couple couple of times, because I fell asleep a couple of different nights trying to watch it, and I thought I finished it, but maybe I didn't.
Speaker 4I will say.
I put up a you know, an image of it from from the show in our Facebook group, and people over all seem to like it.
Speaker 3Yeah, okay, I'll watch it again.
Yeah, I don't know.
Little you know me, I had little things that I that I nitpick.
Speaker 2Yeah, spots like nope, missions over, missions over, we're going outside, we're calling the ship, and then they have a discussion and he's like, okay, let's continue.
Speaker 3What right?
What?
Why is this nurse guy?
Why is he handling unknown alien?
Yeah?
Technology?
Just picking it up off the floor.
Yeah, what that is?
You don't know?
So is it a children's toy?
Is it a grenade?
Is it a cupcake?
It could be any of those three things and a thousand others.
You have no idea what it is.
Definitely pick it up and hold it six inches from your face.
Speaker 4That's right, that's the best way to look at it.
Speaker 3What's her name's DNA has taken over?
I don't, I don't know.
Speaker 2So are we supposed to surmise that the Gorn and this other species have a history or was that her Gorn sense tingling?
Speaker 3Is she like Spider Man of the Gorn?
Now?
Speaker 1Is she?
Speaker 3I don't, I don't.
I don't know what's going on here.
I mean, I know, I'm not supposed to know what's going on here.
That's the mystery that they're they're trying to to develop.
Speaker 4You got you got the magic blood, the magic Gorn blood.
Speaker 3She's got the magic blood.
She's got the magic blood.
Speaker 2But like things don't fit the idea, you know it was it was a season ago that they're ready to put number one in jail because she's she's genetically modif right, right, And now this captain, Captain Pateel is clearly genetically modified, right, in violation of you know whatever, whatever whatever.
And while I don't expect them to throw her in jail, while I don't expect them to bounce her out of starfleet, the idea of hey, look outside, pick any of those ships, and it's yours.
Speaker 3What Yeah, that makes no sense.
Speaker 4Well, and not only that, she also has got number one's blood in her.
Remember that's how they partly got the So she's yes, ultra genetically modified, she's.
Speaker 3Double secret genetically modified, right right, Like I don't think.
Speaker 4You would think with what happened to her, they would have her down at Starfleet Medical on her trying to figure it out because she was in case this happens again with the Gordon What what procedures and treatments they can have for people?
Speaker 3Yeah?
Speaker 2Yeah, or even you know, sub Section thirty one medical facility.
Yeah, don't even bring it to earth because we don't know her chest may burst open, and and and now we got Gordon babies, you know, running around Salt Lake City.
We can't have that, right Section thirty one special or you know what, a ship's going to meet you for her.
That's what would happen realistically.
Speaker 4Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely.
So it's there's things that don't fit for sure, but it's how they're writing it, and and it's it's all these weird little plot holes that people don't think about.
Speaker 3You know.
Speaker 4It's funny when the episode started and and Gamble was was doing his uh, his law, you know what his day, right, And immediately I'm like, oh, this guy's dying immediately yep.
Yeah, he's toased, yeah yep.
Speaker 3And uh.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 3Then when he's.
Speaker 2Almost like the trope trope about the the black guy in a horror movie.
Yeah, you know the trope where they say, oh, you know he's.
Speaker 4Gonna die right right right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's definitely tagged for death.
The other thing, too, is like, so they're they're in this building, there's all these like weird like traps, and like it puts them on different planes.
I don't know if you've ever seen this movie, but there's a movie from the nineties called Cube.
It's a it's an old horror movie that's some familiar.
Okay, so Cube is an interesting movie.
The first one, especially where people wake up in this room and they have no idea how they got there, and there's traps and the only way to escape is to push through the maze.
Speaker 3Right.
Speaker 4There's three different openings.
You go this way, that way, or that way, and each room is either trapped or not or safe to go through, and so they have to figure it out.
This episode really reminded me of Cube in that respect.
Like, the other thing I thought was kind of funny was this guy, the let me see if I can find him, the alien guy.
He just kind of dips out in the middle of it.
Yeah, and they're like, where'd you go?
Speaker 3Huh, I'm so you cut out from what happened in the middle of it.
Speaker 4He just kind of leaves for a good chunk of it.
Well, they're trying to figure out what's going on in this prison.
Yeah, yeah, that was weird.
Speaker 3So I don't.
Speaker 4Like I understand why people liked the episode.
There was some interesting things there, but there was also some some issues with it, and when you're when this is the best of what's been around for a while, Sure it's great, but it could be so much better, I will say.
Duvall pointed out that finally we got a strange New world in Strange New Worlds.
Yeah, you know, yeah, that's true.
Yeah.
Williams says it felt like it was an The episode felt like an escape room.
Yeah kindah, yeah, there's absolutely an escape room.
I wonder if that was like on the board when they were writing this, Like, I wish you did an escape room episode.
Speaker 3So that the drone see all all three groups.
Speaker 4I thought, I don't know, it's just somehow good right because it was magical drones.
Speaker 3It was just clear, just as unclear to you as it was to me.
Speaker 4Yeah, none of it was clear.
And then what are we doing next week?
Speaker 7Uh?
Speaker 4It's the episode is called the Shei Latte, who ate its tail?
Okay, okay, chasm is slow New Worlds.
Let's see.
I'm trying to look at some of the uh, some of the responses we had from people about this episode.
Mike says, can't watch an episode completely through without stopping at some point.
I have to get an aspirin or whiskey or both for new track.
Uh, kwan ku, I don't I don't know, says he's grateful, Uh that we got a real Star Trek episode again instead of filler episodes that we've been getting and I've enjoy and I enjoyed it.
That's cool, man, It's weird that we've had four filler episodes by your by your metrics.
Let's see, James says, after lock last week's contradiction of start of Scottie's t G appearance when he knew nothing of the Holidack.
Then we get this week's contradiction of Jordan LaForge, who couldn't have a single uh, couldn't have new eyes recreated in generations.
I'm wondering if the writers have ever watched a single TNG episode.
Speaker 3So I agree with the first thing he said.
Speaker 2There the second thing, I think he's mistaken because I'm pretty sure Pulaski offered to grow him new eyes in season two and he declined because he he would lose all the special abilities that his his advisory gives him.
Speaker 4Jill say's cut out the stupid romance stuff, and I dare say, we have a great episode.
I there wasn't that much romance stuff.
I don't think.
Speaker 2No, there's a little there's a little tension because of previous romance.
Speaker 3Yeah stuff.
Speaker 2You know, the whole Kirby Spock dynamic is just weird.
And that's another thing, you know, the second that Korby was like, I don't work for Starfleet.
Speaker 4Yeah I don't.
Speaker 3I don't have to listen, get out of here, you're out.
Yeah that's how that would go down.
Speaker 4What do you think of Kirby?
Speaker 3I don't know.
Speaker 4Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3I don't know.
Speaker 4I keep wondering if you're a villain at some point.
Speaker 3No, because he shows up in t os Okay, he's Uh, I'm trying to remember.
Speaker 2I don't know if she's his ex husband or just ex boyfriend or whatever.
So, I mean, we know it doesn't work out, right, we know it doesn't work out with him, but yeah, I mean I don't think we know why it doesn't work out.
So yeah, maybe we will.
He'll be a villain at some point, yeahs stranger things.
Speaker 4Maybe not a villain villain, but you know we're gonna like if he's obsessed with immortality, that's that's villain territory.
Yeah, and don't they kind of have it with the Magic Blooded?
Speaker 3I don't know, I know.
Speaker 4Yeah, there's so many plot holes.
Yeah, William says they explained with some technobabble.
Huh.
Speaker 2I'm just waiting for Patel to like haulk out into some lizard woman.
That's why she's not in TS.
Speaker 4I God, I hope that happens.
I will die laughing.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 4So what did you think of this?
Speaker 1Uh?
Speaker 4These creatures that possess Gamble?
Is that anything interesting to you?
Speaker 3You cut out?
What did I think of?
Speaker 4What the creatures that possess Gamble?
Metaphysical yeah, I don't know.
I thought they were gonna be was what was the name of the species that the borg hated and Voyager eight for Yeah, yeah, I thought they were gonna make them those guys.
Speaker 3Yeah, but I guess not.
That would have been interesting.
Yeah, you know, mentioned like fluid e space somehow.
Speaker 4And yeah, because that that's wide open to do whatever you want with.
There's there's really no backstory to them, Yeah, which is what they love.
They they want to put their fingerprints all over it, So do it.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm sure with the with the doctor being in Starfleet Academy, we will we will get some sort of callback to them.
Speaker 3Uh if if not, like the newest the newest Cadet is a is a.
Speaker 2H three legged person who turns out to be species eight four seven to their newest newest recruit star Fleet.
Speaker 4Yes, shut half Flutex based alien, half Pomeranian, that's what we're getting.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, got three legs, but you you decide if it's one extra or he's missing one.
Speaker 4Oh god, what if they give us a mog in an academy just randomly there's part man, part dog.
Do it cowards?
Speaker 3Do it?
Speaker 7All?
Right?
Speaker 3Well?
Speaker 4Yeah, I'm asking people to x up, and yeah, I'm asking people to dix up.
So why don't we get to listener feedback?
Speaker 1Then listener feedback?
Speaker 4All right, so while we're getting people on the line, uh, just remember that you can always leave us a voicemail at five seven zero six six one zero zero zero one.
That's five seven zero six six one zero zero zero one.
Love to have your voicemails.
And then also we are on social media.
Basically all the social media is at Shrek cast TNG.
So yeah, oh and there he is.
We got the beardless.
Speaker 3Yeah that.
Speaker 4Wow, you're gonna grow it back.
Speaker 6Yeah, well it's hot, you know, it's.
Speaker 4Yer hot, so.
Speaker 6Beardless, yeah, Jazz beardless.
Speaker 4Well would you think of the episode?
Speaker 6I'm like, I'm with Dan that second half, Like I had to watch it again.
I didn't wind it the second night to watch it again because I lost interest.
Speaker 3Yeah I don't.
Speaker 6I don't know why I did, but I lost interest.
And I don't know.
When she turned it to Lizard Superhero, I kind of dipped out.
Speaker 4You know, Yeah, that'll do it.
That'll do it.
Speaker 6Because all right, so why isn't she get Starfleet Medical getting examined?
Why?
I'm like why is she flying around the whole galaxy?
And was like, yeah, we're gonna take a pit stop at this planet right now, basically Planet Canada and a rock quarry on a gloomy day.
And then after that Renego went to the volume.
Speaker 4So I feel like they use that same rock Cory for a few different things now, Yeah, because I remember it from Discovery.
Speaker 2Do you think she's gonna break up with Pike now that I think he's gonna break up with her?
I think she's gonna break up with him now that she's a she's a Lisbian.
Speaker 4She's gonna find a nice lizard to settle down with.
Yeah, I can see that.
I can see that.
Speaker 6So read the cup.
Speaker 4What are you talking about?
Willis?
Speaker 6Oh my god, that is funny.
Yeah, this is a whole episode of everybody changing back into I don't know, lizard people, and then guy loses his eyes and doctor and Benga tries to regrow the eyes, and I'm sitting there, I'm like, Okay, I bet Jordi's like, what the f man?
Wouldn't they grow me some eyes on the Enterprise?
So I'm kind of confused there had they always had that technology where they can regrow the eyes.
Speaker 4I mean, did they regrow I mean his eyes were gone, yeah, gone a leg for right, didn't they regrow that?
Speaker 2They regrew a leg, they regrew marktalk a leg and yeah, but they've got Mark.
Speaker 4You they offered to do an eye for marktalk.
I remember that, but you said it wouldn't be the same.
Speaker 6I wouldn't, but I'll take the leg.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 6Yeah, So I don't know.
It's just kind of weird that you think he would have a I don't know the ice thing.
I think the colder record the ice the way they do it.
But the thing is is he's brain dead.
And why would a doctor tell somebody like, by the way, your brain dead?
Ken any readings from your brain?
Speaker 4So oh, I took it as more as like he's reading the truck going the hell this guy's brain dead?
Speaker 3Would out loud, out loud?
Speaker 6Yeah, set it out loud, like this guy's brain dead.
Speaker 4He's like, what are you stupid?
It says you're brain dead?
Speaker 6Yeah, I like the phone a friend on that one?
Yeah, would work.
Would you tell the patients that their brain's not working?
Well, they're talking to him.
Speaker 4They've had this Gamble character in the background for a few episodes.
Now now I starting to like him, Like I was like, oh, yeah, this guy could be a fun addition, and now he's just gone.
Speaker 6And then Scotty turns into a ghostbuster in the end and traps it.
Speaker 4So that's right, So that's how he gets the idea and generations.
Yeah, yeah, just hang out in the buffer.
Speaker 6What do you think of this whole love triangle spot and everybody?
It's kind of weird.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's not a love trial anymore.
So it's like a it's like a trapezoid.
Speaker 4I mean, he's moved on, right, and like Leon is totally cool with being the rebound.
Speaker 6Yeah, I don't know, you know, of course he doesn't talk to Kirk and say like, hey, I dated a con before.
Speaker 3So yeah yeah yeah, or even that a new one.
Speaker 6Yeah, I know an oh man, don't worry, I fought a Gorn before you, Kirk, so I know all about the Gorn.
Speaker 2I mean to be fair, Scott, you know it kind of it kind of puts a new perspective on things.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2In in Star Trek Into Darkness, when when young Spock calls old Spock and says, have you ever dealt with a man named Condonian sung and old Spock says, he's the biggest piece of ship that ever lived.
Speaker 3Right, And also I dated his sister.
She was crazy.
You know, he didn't even mention that.
Speaker 6Dated her great granddaughter.
She's pretty hard whatever.
Speaker 4Yeah, great great great.
I was gonna say.
Spock's got a history of not mentioning things though.
Like now we've got Michael Burnham, his sister that he never mentioned, apparently dating Cohn's great great granddaughter, you know, his brother brother brother.
Yeah, yeah, she doesn't talk just yeah.
Speaker 6And he's dyslexic.
Don't forget about that.
Speaker 4Oh that's right, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right.
Forgot his name Siebox okay, Silock, syebog whatever.
Speaker 6Uh yeah, these riders cracked me up.
Speaker 3Man.
Speaker 6It's like maybe you know, you google something like what episode about the character?
You don't have to go on memory Alpha anymore, and I will tell you real quick, like have they done this?
Yes or not?
Speaker 4You know, it's funny you mentioned that.
Speaker 1Uh.
Speaker 4They recently interviewed the South Park guys and they asked him like, how do you you know you've been along been around for so many years?
What's like twenty six years at this point?
For start for South Park and they're like, how do you keep up all the lower intact in your head?
He's like, yeah, we just google it.
We don't remember at all.
Like yeah, yeah, yeah, there's fan wikis and they oh that's who that's character's parents are and that's what they do.
Speaker 2Great, that's it, but it's true.
I'm just you know, think of this show here.
Yeah, remember every free conversation that we've had over the last eight years or whatever.
Speaker 3They can do this.
Speaker 4Yeah, yeah, that's that's just human memory.
Speaker 2So no way, Yeah, like you know twenty and listen to it.
It'll be like it'll be like listening to somebody else.
Speaker 6Oh yeah, well you have Chad on there and you have a different host, different everything.
So that's right where you guys just take your head when Chad's wrong, you know.
God said that again.
Yeah I miss those days.
Speaker 4So next week we have another episode.
We should yeah, we.
Speaker 2Should say he's a we should see if he's available to fill in this for Scott next week.
Speaker 4Oh we should yeah, yeah, that'd be hilarious, hilarious.
Yes, Steve can come out of the basement.
Speaker 3I see.
Speaker 6I like to hear his point of view, what he thinks is Star Trek now.
Speaker 4After all, I imagine he loves it.
Speaker 6Yeah, yeah, well it's just it's weird, like I'm with it st in here that my love for starting.
Speaker 4I mean, he still has access to our our paramoun accounts.
I don't know if he's he's watching.
Speaker 3It, but he has.
He's commented on a few things.
Speaker 4Oh that's right.
Speaker 6Yeah yeah, yeah, I've seen him on the Facebook.
Yeah, so occasionally.
Speaker 4Yeah, I will say it looks more and more like the Dexter series is exactly what they wanted to do to Star Trek, and Dexter's pulling it off much better.
So yeah, that that's interesting.
Speaker 6Well, if we could finally maybe get a good show runner or something, a good series.
Speaker 3Dexter.
Speaker 4Oh man.
Yeah, So Dexter has now done three or four different series based off one character and their whole universe they created around him.
Do you know the Dexter shows?
Are you familiar with this at all?
Speaker 3Is that the guy he's like a serial killer but he's also CSI or something.
Speaker 4Yeah yeah, and he and he only kills other serial killers.
Yeah yeah, yeah, so yeah, but whatever, So they're working on their third show now, it's it's currently like Strenger Worlds comes out on Thursday.
The new Dexter comes out on Fridays, and they have built an after show for it.
If you go on Paramount, there's like this sole Dexter section that has all the different series.
The original, they did a prequel series and then they did a this is like the second reboot of Dexter.
Now wow, So yeah, it's it's very much what they wanted Star Trek to be.
Speaker 6Yeah.
Speaker 4Yeah, they absolutely just laid out that crown work and.
Speaker 6It's addicting if you watch it, Like the first probably four or five seasons really good.
Speaker 4It's yeah, it's not great.
There are real like the first four seasons of the first series are amazing, yeah, but after that it's it's yeah.
Speaker 6Yeah, but the John Letgal season is the best one.
Speaker 4So yeah, but this new season is pretty good so far.
But that's the other thing with Dexter is like they do start out really really good and then they just fall off a cliff.
Speaker 3So yeah, well sounds like I should just get involved in that.
Speaker 6Exactly exactly what jumped the shark here?
Speaker 4Yeah yeah, yeah, oh well but when's.
Speaker 6The Papa episode.
Speaker 4Coming next year or next four years?
Speaker 6The Papa episode is not this season, right, yeah, season four, so yeah, you know we'll see wait on that one, and.
Speaker 4We don't know if it'll be next year, because who knows how long it'll take him to release it.
I mean it took almost three years for this season.
Speaker 6Well, let's just hope there's no Riders strike or anything else in between two.
Speaker 4I mean, it could get back World, so yeah, there is that chance.
Speaker 6Yeah, there's nothing that seriously good.
Speaker 4It could get back World as well.
Speaker 6So yeah, because I don't know if they're hurting the name of Star Trek, they really are, I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 4Well, Dan, what what did you say?
Speaker 3What's that?
Speaker 6He said?
Something to hear him.
Speaker 4Yeah, I didn't hear what you said.
Speaker 2Well you talked about uh Starfleet Academy.
Speaker 3Yeah, said I would be okay.
Speaker 4Oh yeah for sure.
Yeah, unfortunately, but I want to like it.
But it does not just look good at all.
Speaker 6The Archer West Wing show.
I guess you know where they make it like the West Swing if he's president.
Speaker 4I was thinking more House of Cards.
But still yeah, yeah, some really intect like that.
Speaker 6Illegal drama is just in Star Trek World.
Everybody wants that because we want to see different.
Speaker 3That's that was great, and then just fell off a cliff house of cards.
Speaker 6Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 3Think, yeah, I remember.
Speaker 4I was like, yeah, the first couple of seasons were great and then just done.
Speaker 3Yep.
Yeah they kill off camera.
Speaker 4Yeah, well they kind of had to, but yeah.
Yeah, all right, Well it feels like we're running towards the end.
Speaker 3Yep.
Speaker 4We'll be back next week with more and we'll see who we bring on.
Speaker 6So oh beardless, that's right, we need another a stronger beard next week.
Speaker 4So there you go.
All right, see you guys next week.
Doctor Leon.
Speaker 3Bye.
