Speaker 2Oh, what's up boys?
Gorgeous day man, Little Chili Tyler, what's good?
Hi gott he's setting up.
I see his hotel room.
I'm sure he'll be with us here in a second.
In Miami, Miami.
Speaker 3Welcome to Miami.
Speaker 2Welcome to Miami.
Speaker 4I'm just laughing.
Speaker 2And Sean Baydon, Man, that dude is a freaking hoot.
Speaker 4That guy.
Speaker 2He was having some fun today.
Man, he was having some fun today.
Was laughing with good old Zach Stevens.
And he's talking about the the hats and the T shirts.
This was this was awesome.
Speaker 5It's a good question.
Look the equipment.
God, you know what says, text me, what do you want me to do?
And I said, just put them in the lockers.
We we actually didn't even talk about it.
And I don't know if that's something I should have or omitted.
Yeah, I haven't seen the hats of the shirts.
My understanding is they're pretty ugly and uh, and we just didn't We just didn't really talk about it.
We just we the focus was on this week's game and the Chargers and the seating ramifications, really trying to educate them relative to what's gonna be important here down the stretch.
Speaker 2I need to stinking hats and T shirts.
Speaker 3But it is really anti climatic, would you when you fall into a championship without playing a game?
Yeah, it's super anti clebatic, Like like, I actually don't even know what you would do with the hats and the T shirts.
Seriously, So they're in your locker, what are you gonna do?
You're gonna put them all on and take a group photo in the inside the locker room.
Speaker 2I guess, Oh, that's what the Patriots inside of, like an air plane hanger or something.
Speaker 3Well, but at least they were like together as a team where they got it.
Speaker 4You know what I mean.
Speaker 2Listen, bro, I don't have any problems with it whatsoever.
But you could I mean, if you wanted to like rally everybody to the field house or something, have tables set up, you know you could do that.
Speaker 3No, it's a work day, man.
We got a number one seed to go after.
Speaker 2Hey, Scott, Welcome to the show.
Scotty all right, Tyler, Well, hold on, Scott, you gotta take a peek of Tyler.
There's gotta be some sort of story going on here, because this is as low as I've seen you in a long time.
Speaker 3Yeah, no story.
I don't know.
I was I was looking in the mirror.
I was I was doing a little bit of trimming, and I was like, you know what it's coming off?
Speaker 2No story, Wow, this was something inflicted.
Well it was intentional, but I mean you did this.
Speaker 3You didn't go to the barber.
No, I didn't go to the barber.
I just do that is I just decided, I was it was coming off.
Speaker 4Wow.
Speaker 3And the irony is I didn't even do it for I didn't even do it for like like family activities.
I got through all the activities and then I took it off.
Speaker 2After Okay, Yeah, so just just just an impulse or just just as it's going it.
Speaker 3Was it was it was time.
I just I was I was ready for another change.
Speaker 2Huh Okay, yeah.
Speaker 4Or he slipped Paul trim in it and like shaved that right side of the mustache completely off, which god dang it, and it had to do that.
Speaker 3No, but every time I do it, I do regret it, like like instantaneously, I almost regret it.
Speaker 2I got him in it.
It's low.
Oh yeah, it's not gone.
It's not gone gone.
Speaker 3Yeah, but it's about as low as.
Speaker 4You can go.
Speaker 2It is about as low as you can go.
Speaker 4So what's stop?
Put like a put a one guard on it or something.
Speaker 3I think it was two.
Speaker 2What stopped you from just taking it?
Speaker 4Literally?
Speaker 3Like, oh well I'm not insane?
Speaker 2Okay, so there was a limit?
Speaker 3Yeah?
Yeah, yeah, this is the women.
Speaker 2Are you gonna go get it tidied up by the barber?
Or are you just gonna started to tidy up?
I mean you got some neck stuff.
I mean it's not like as sharp as it would be if you went into like a barber.
Speaker 3No, no, I mean why didn't I didn't shave shave underneath?
I mean I suppose I could do that, but uh yeah I don't.
I don't.
I don't touch an actual razor very often.
Speaker 2Okay, all right, all right, you're happy with it, you're good with it?
Or do you instant regret like I miss it already?
Speaker 4No?
Speaker 3I mean I do usually regret it the second I do it.
But okay, that's all right, you know it was.
It was just an impulse decision.
Decided to go for it.
I mean the good news is I look good no matter what.
Speaker 2So hey, that's all I'm talking about, Scotty.
How's Miami, my friends?
How's your road trip going?
Speaker 4Good?
Good?
Warm, warm?
And now we get after you know, leave tomorrow and head up to the coldest places in the country.
Right, You're going to Toronto, New York, Brooklyn, Boston, Cleveland.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, yeah, so enjoy while you killing is it isn't Miami like weather there are you getting?
Speaker 4Uh yeah, yeah, yeah.
I actually shut out.
I didn't sit in the sun, but I set out by the pool about seventy five seventy six.
He read my book.
It was nice.
Speaker 2The loss to Orlando was terrible.
That was awful, dude, that sucks.
And then you get the l M two report, at least THEBA yeah.
Speaker 4Last two minutes report, which is stupid.
Speaker 2But yeah, they do do that though, and uh yeah, Jamal Murray was filed and should have gone to the line for free throws on the inbound pass.
Speaker 4I said it in the first minute of that fourth quarter that the referees lost control.
I've seen the thousand times, all of a sudden, you start calling a little too many fouls.
Yeah, and then you got to even up.
And in the first minute and ten seconds of the fourth quarter between both teams, there have been six foul calls.
Six And I told Marlow at that time, I said, Chris, we're in for a quarter, a whole bunch of free throw shooting quarter.
And and you know, Adaman called it in that post game the longest fourth quarter he's ever been in because I think I think they shot seventeen free throws and we shot nine or two in something like that.
So it was, it was.
It was a poorly officiate game.
The NBA has got a refereeing problem.
Speaker 3They just they all got a referee problem, all of them.
Speaker 4Although, yeah, the NFL's had a whole bunch of miscues lately, too, haven't they.
Speaker 2The NFL, anything in particular stand out to you.
Speaker 3Not often's a pass interference, not having ingram was pretty garbage.
Speaker 4Anything else they went back.
Did you see the video?
Did you see the video of the passing afferance they called on on certain in that game against Kansas City.
Yeah, that was kind of BSc I just like they guessed a few things.
Speaker 2Let me bring you up to speed on Jamal to make him a as I've seen post.
I think d NBR had it the Jamal star, gonna be rough, gonna be tough man.
Fourteenth in fan voting, fourteenth got le man behind a bunch of dudes that he's having a better year then, But golly man, I don't even know one of these dudes at all.
This is my dad talk to me, and I'm sorry, I don't I should if he's actually got the seventh most votes Denny adjige vaga adjug adviland's having an unbelievable year.
God, I have not paid attention.
Is it better than Jamal.
Speaker 4Uh first Israeli born player.
Yeah, he's helping keep Portland even he's in.
Yeah, he's very he's very, very good.
But but you know, and I wrote you back, he was never going to win the popular vote.
He wasn't going to get voted in as an All Star.
They only take the top five, uh from the fan voting.
It's the other fourteen.
I guess it would be right, the other fourteen that will be selected by coaches.
So he wasn't never going to get in that way.
I didn't think that buying the vote, So that doesn't surprise me at all.
Speaker 2Uh to any other stories from the road that we should be aware of after that kind of rough loss, and uh, I don't know how spirits are or how they're they're fair, and there any reports about CB or AG anything we should know about those dudes.
Speaker 4Well, both of them worked out hard before that Orlando game and are on this road trip.
And I said before we left, I think I think you'll see at least one of them before the end of the road trip.
I think they're gonna be awful cautious on on Aaron Gordon because of the soft tissue.
You know, you won't see Cam because they didn't even bring Cam on the road trip.
Speaker 2Right, well we I mean cam here Cam we know is wow.
I mean four to six weeks and the look at it, so that could easily be two months, which which everybody is kind.
Speaker 4Of with Denver, it'll be two months.
Speaker 2Well probably, right, I mean, if history serves correct.
Speaker 4Yeah, I was.
Speaker 2I was disappointed with Orlando.
You can't hold a lead.
Speaker 4Listen.
Speaker 2I think any win at this point is gonna be rough.
Jokers doing joker things.
People are, you know, finally closing around on joker, which is a riot that I'm oh, it's.
Speaker 4Crazy, like people if you get on the on the social media, it's like people.
Speaker 2Oh my gosh, just got it's unbelievable.
Speaker 4We've been trying to tell you this the the Here's what I thought.
There were landa games they didn't play horrible, that the turnovers and points off turnovers killed them.
But but I thought what really struggled and if you go back and look like like their starters are all plus sixteen, plus ten, plus fourteen, and I think combined your your your bench was like a minus forty five in a one point game.
And the problem is it's the benches bench that is having to play right now, right and you know, all this depth we talked about the beginning of the season, which helped them or win games because there wasn't such a drop off between starters and the bench come coming in.
Now we're back to last year.
Now we're back to starters go out and then you hold and then uh, you know.
Valence Unis hasn't played great in the last two or three games.
I was told last night that he's been sick, but no one new.
Speaker 2Okay, but he.
Speaker 4Also didn't he's not getting to play with Tim Hardaway and Brucen, those guys in combination, and now he's playing with you know, Zeke Nausey and Jalen Pickett.
Speaker 2Okay, all right, well hang on for your life, you know what I'm saying.
So tonight it's Nuggets at the heat five o'clock right here on ninety two five.
Meanwhile, Avs hosting the Kings Blackwood and Net has a Burgundy pass, some new Burgundy pass.
Speaker 4Tonight.
Speaker 2The Avs won an unbelievable game over the weekend, which was crazy, winning a shootout they want to shootout?
How about that they actually want to shootout.
Nate mckaitna, who was shooting fourth out there fourth, but he sort.
Speaker 3A start make a shootout.
Speaker 2It was a sick goal man.
He's going full speed, puts on the brakes, doesn't stop, picks a spot, got it done.
Beat Vegas six to five.
They were down three times, they trailed three different times.
Twice they trailed by two goals and they came back to tie it up and then win and a shootout.
So they're just don't you think.
Speaker 4Don't you think to me?
The gold Knights and they knocked Hi out of the playoffs what three four years ago?
But they're just in that same rivalry and fear factor as Dallas, Like they're right there.
Yeah, I think the Knights and Avalanche would have a hell of a series.
I'm actually I'm like, I got to watch the the Lway on the on the flight out to right.
Yeah, it's really really good in uh, but I felt like John's mom, you know, if you have to play Dallas in the playoffs again, do we really have to to?
You know?
Do do we really have to go down that road in that path one more time?
Speaker 2Well, sadly we do, and then sadly it has to be in the second round because of the stupid way the NHL is set up.
Speaker 4Do you know another one of my experts, so you know why they're the playoff rules are like that.
Speaker 2No, I don't really.
Speaker 4Because because can and it could never be represented a season when you started doing it the other way, and so they screw around with the stings and hope to get Canadian teams into the postseason.
Speaker 2It's a way to get Canadian teams deeper.
Correct, you're right about that?
Forgot about that one.
Yeah, let's Jimmy jam things for Canada I appreciate it.
Speaker 4All right.
Speaker 2Listen, let's get into the Broncos in the seating, in the scenarios, and Sean was a who today of talking about ugly.
The hats are ugly.
Have you seen the hats I have?
Speaker 3They are ugly.
He's not wrong, he is not wrong.
Speaker 4They are.
Speaker 2That is the thing about Sean Man.
He says things that tick people off, but very rarely is he just like wrong about those things.
You know, you had a feeling Bonix was special or whatever.
It turns out pretty good, had a feeling that this was a super Bowl worthy team.
Okay, turns out he was right.
Uh, says the hats are ugly.
All right, He's not wrong.
They're ugly.
They are ugly.
So we'll show it to you.
We'll describe them to you, and let's go over what we expect to happen with the seating and how this is going to play out, and what what Harbaugh is likely or not likely to do now that we know where everything stands.
That's coming up next.
It's a rally house Football Monday on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two to five.
Rally house shop every team in town.
Speaker 5Yeah, I mean I was watching it probably like everyone else, and it ended up being a close game, hard put game.
And then I think the immediate focus shifts towards Monday, Monday meeting, which we just had relative to our approach this week, normal schedule, Sunday twelve twenty five or two twenty five start time, and this game is very much like a playoff team.
Speaker 4All right.
Speaker 2That's Sean Payton earlier today about what lays ahead in front of the Broncos and what to expect.
What was your action just watching the games yesterday and how everything unfolding.
Speaker 3Well, we got to help the treat to finish out the day, didn't we.
I mean, my gosh, that uh that forty nine Ers Bears game, Game of the year.
That that was unbelievable start.
They just couldn't stop scoring.
Every single drive somebody is scoring and it comes down to the wire.
Dude, that was a blast.
What else?
Uh, Sunday's games were kind of bad.
Bills sucked all of a sudden.
You're not so afraid of the Bills anymore.
I mean I've been I've been been trying to be honest about the Bills all year long, and yet at the same time, be like, do you still want to face Josh Allen in the playoffs.
I don't know.
I'm just starting to get the feeling the Bills are just not a very good football team.
Okay, what else?
Speaker 2How do you think things sorted out for the Broncos with the Chargers losing?
Speaker 3Well?
Feels a little bit anti climatic to be honest.
You you get the AFC West Championship and you wake up to some hats in your locker room and you know, all in week seventeen means a lot to you, but it means nothing to them.
Speaker 2So let's start there.
Doesn't mean nothing to them?
Speaker 3Well more or less.
Speaker 2Yeah, doesn't matter.
Speaker 4They can go for they can go for five to seven.
It depends on who's in your seating the way you think you can do well.
Speaker 2Yeah, that is the big question, Like how do you think Jim Harbaugh will treat it?
Speaker 4Like?
Speaker 2You know, the reward of beating the Broncos is likely if things play out the way they're favored to, you just end up playing the Broncos again the next week in Denver.
That is the most likely scenario.
If you beat the Broncos, the Broncos be a three, you'd be the six.
The Bills would be the seven and Houston would be the five.
If and the spreads are crazy with all the games that are like, Jacksonville is twelve and a half favored over Tennessee, Houston is favored by ten over Indie.
Denver Frankly is favored by seven and a half.
But I mean, just for the sake of the argument, let's assume the Broncos actually lose this one.
The Patriots are favored by eleven and a half over Miami.
You see where I'm going here, Even the well the Ravens and Steelers that actually doesn't matter, but everything that could impact you if you're the Chargers, there's no it's not a reasonable concept that you're gonna go up to five, not really.
You know, you're you're probably gonna be if you win exactly where you are and you'd be facing the Broncos.
Now, if things go shock, if all the favorites also win, the next bet for the for the Chargers is they're the seven and they're playing in New England.
So what would you prefer if you're Jim Harbaugh?
I mean, how and I would too, by the way, But to what degree?
I guess I would ask you guys that like, what degree would you put your guys out to just try to play Denver again?
Speaker 3Uh, it's weird, man, because here here's like you got to think about it game plan wise, there's a lot of different angles.
I'm not even sure that Denver is that great of an option either, because if you played the Broncos, you just go through a full game plan.
Did you play your guys or not?
If you do play your guys, well, you do show some of your stuff, you show what you you you think the Broncos are good at, what they're not good at.
Then you got to play them again and it's like, all right, well now we got to come up with a radically new game plan when we already used our best stuff.
So I don't think uh, for multiple for multiple reasons, I do not think they'll play their starters, even if they wanted to play Denver.
It's just like they're not gonna want to show what their game plan is going to be anyways.
Speaker 4Scott, Yeah, that's that's the the dichotomy of it.
You know, you play out to win it boom and boom, and you win or lose whatever it is, and then you got to come back the following week.
There's no no, there's no hitting agenda, but there is a confidence gain from doing it once.
Listen, I think Jim Harball, you know we talked about last week.
I don't think he's a sane man anyway.
I think he's just coming to here, guns and Blazer are going to try to do it.
Win the game.
Speaker 3Well, you're you're you might be dead on Scott.
I mean, he literally might not have it in him to rest the start.
Speaker 2I was gonna ask, what do you think Harball would do?
Like where where do you think his head's at?
Speaker 4I have a feeling he's gonna he's gonna come in agains of blazing.
Speaker 3Okay, that feels like the Harbaugh thing to do, But when you really think about it, logically, it just doesn't make sense to play your guys.
It doesn't.
It doesn't, especially if you're gonna play Denver again.
Speaker 2Right, that's the reward likely likely?
I mean, you know, you'd have to have some major upsets, like is Houston gonna lose to the Colts knowing what's on them?
Speaker 4If the Chargers win it, they're gonna be back here next week?
Right?
Likely?
Likely?
Well, in Harball's are your tea, he's looking.
Do I want to go all the way to New England and play New England?
Right?
Uh?
Chances of cold weather?
In fact, we'll be there in a week, right, and the weather's all nasty, that big snowstorms all that.
Do we want to go out as California boys, go all the way out there?
Or go to Denver where it's a chance of being about fifty five sonny and nice and a softer team to beat?
I think that's what do you want to do?
Speaker 2Oh, a softer team to beat?
Really, Broncos there a softer team in New England?
Speaker 4Yeah?
Why because it can't score?
Speaker 3Okay, well play you score twenty.
Speaker 4Four, You score twenty four in Denver, you're liable to win.
Yeah, that's true and false.
It's true.
Speaker 3And I mean I like Bownicks.
I like where he's at right now, but he's not Drake Bay.
Drake May is a legitimate MVP candidate still today.
Uh, there was a little window in there where it looked like he was backing off, and it looks like Matthew Stafford is gonna run away with it.
Statistically, I think Stafford's got six or seven more touchdow owns the Drake Bay Drake Blay is playing stupid good, stupid good.
Speaker 2Okay, listen, I gotta agree with I would think the Chargers would prefer their odds by just coming back to Denver.
That to me seems a it's in the division.
The weather's been ridiculous out here.
Frankly, it's been great.
You know, who knows what it's going to be like in Foxborough.
Speaker 3But here's the thing.
If you're the Chargers, I'm not really I don't really care enough either way that I'm trying to influence things.
I'm just doing what I think is the best best situation for my team in the health of my football team.
Speaker 2Well, and then I'm not playing or not.
Speaker 3Playing my starters based off of trying to get either Denver or New England.
Speaker 2Okay, because they gave up five sacks to Houston.
They gave up five sacks to Houston.
Their offensive line has been beat to shreds this year.
They're hanging on Herbert's got that hand injury that he's wearing a Hamburger helper gloves still, you know, I.
Speaker 4Mean that they are.
Speaker 2They are going into this game a super healthy team, and they did just give up five sacks to the Texans and le Broncos defense sort of, you know, profile similar to the Texans.
And I don't think the Chargers are gonna play a wonky offense or defense like the Chiefs did.
They're just gonna be who they are.
So you run a lot of risks if you're Harbaugh and you just, you know, do what you need to do to actually beat Denver in Denver, you do, you run a lot of risks in that.
And what are the benefits of just getting a weak rest and treating this like a bye week that you're not gonna get anyway?
Speaker 4This is it.
Speaker 2This is your only chance to get a bye week going into the playoffs if you're the Charger.
Speaker 3I think it honestly gives you the best chance to succeed in the playoffs.
By sitting down some guys against some brass, making sure Herbert doesn't get killed, make sure that he's alive, all those sorts of things, he gives you your best chance whether you play Denver or New England.
Speaker 2Hey, they're gonna if you're the Chargers, you're playing a wildcard game on the road one way or the other.
Right, how do we want to go into that game.
Speaker 4Do you want a five hour flight or a two hour flight?
Speaker 2Wealth Then you can make that argument, Scott, You're right, you can make you can make I think it's a really interesting.
Speaker 4One one time zone or three time zone changes.
Speaker 2You're right about that too.
And I would think that the weather the chances.
Now it's Colorado, so anything can happen right in two weeks.
Who knows, but I think the odds of better weather are actually here in Colorado than in New England.
You saw what Buffalo was like, what a miserable set of I mean rain Sideways wins.
They don't trust their kicker.
I guess that's why they win for two.
I think I'm really not understanding what the logic of going for two except for trying to win the game.
What do you mean, Well, the kicker had a extra point blocked, and I don't know if they really trust him.
Speaker 3He's been I wasn't on the kicker though.
Speaker 2Okay, whatever their operation got the kick blocked.
They didn't trust their operation.
Don't you have a chance to win?
Speaker 3Fun that's true, but I mean they're in the game, they got a chance to win it.
They'd suck the entire game.
They hadn't been able to move to the football all day long.
Here's a chance, one playway you win.
Speaker 2Yeah, well they had to play and it was the play work play.
Speaker 4It was.
Speaker 3It was a tough throw, but it's a throw that Josh Allen makes a lot.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 2So these are the compelling questions going into this.
I don't think the questions for the Broncos are all that complicated.
There's just too much on the line and too much to benefit.
Speaker 3Oh, there is nothing to debate.
I mean, you got to win the football game.
Even if even if the Chargers came out and you saw the the pregame report and they had seventeen in actives from their matter, it doesn't change anything that you're doing.
You're not sitting down Patcher Tay and you're not sitting down anybody.
You're just going out there to win a game.
Uh.
Speaker 2Here is a little Sean Payne from earlier today.
Speaker 4Chargers.
Speaker 5Yeah, there were two third down calls, which was unusual, good calls by Houston.
I don't know that there were any great adjustments made.
I think they dropped coverage on one and then there was a pretty good design on the other, and then I think, look it became at that point.
Uh it became a battle of field position.
You know, surprisingly, you know, probably one of the best kickers that we've seen in the last twenty years, mister field goal and a pat uh in rarely fairly benign conditions.
You know, that's something that you know, no one would have counted on.
But two good defenses playing it felt it felt like a playoff game.
Speaker 2Yeah, and the and the Chargers just kind of wilted.
Speaker 4Man.
Speaker 2I don't know, man, you're at home.
You have a chance if you win this game to play for the AFC West the next next week and home field and all that sort of stuff.
And it just came up.
Oh man, the whole Charger is going to charge your thing, all right, boys, So how do you think it's set that for the Broncos for the playoffs?
Speaker 4What do you think.
Speaker 3To be beautiful?
I mean, you're you're one freaking win away.
You're one way away for getting everything that you could have ever asked for and being in a beautiful position to go fight for a championship.
Look, the Chiefs game was if if if you are a custom to this style of football, I guess you walk away from it and you're like, okay, cool, you did a lot of good things.
You had four good drives offensively strung together, fourteen to fifteen plays.
But if you're a worry wart, you're walking away from that thing like, oh god, thank god, where you got a good chance in this number one seed.
Because you don't get that number one seed, you don't have a fighting chance going on the road.
Speaker 4Hi, I worry.
Nice to meet you, mister Whard, if you want.
I thought that was a borying game, but I you know, I haven't talking to us, so sure.
Yeah.
Defensively, I thought they played pretty good, though, Tyler, they were fine.
I mean, it was bounce back defensive game from what they had I guess.
Speaker 3I mean, I'm a little bit reluctant to call it a bounce back game when you got a quarterback that nobody even knows where he went to school.
Speaker 4But they also to that last drive had fifty six yards through the air, So what like, they weren't doing what they were supposed to do, And I think ten of their thirteen points were because of short fields.
Denver gave him right the interception in a long return.
Speaker 3Defensively, my only concern is what's happened to Jonathan Cooper and Nick Bonito, where are these two dudes, because they have been missing in action.
Speaker 2We found out today sacks don't matter.
Speaker 3Well, I've been telling you that for a long time.
The pressures are more important than sacks.
Speaker 2Well, here you go with your boy Chontayne on that same thing.
Speaker 3Yeah, Sean, Nick Benito after a hot start hasn't had quite as many sacks here, Hard Lenni lately and not worried.
Speaker 5About the sacks.
Not worried about the sacks, worried about caging the quarterback, rushing them properly.
So we're not focused on the sack numbers.
Those can actually be numbers that help a quarterback climb up in the pocket.
So a lot of it maybe has to do with who we've been playing relative to the quarterback position.
But I'm not interested in the sack numbers.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 3Well, so what he's saying there, specifically in regards to the last week's game against the Chiefs, is there's only one way that quarterback is going to hurt you, and he's going to hurt you with his feet.
So their sacker fight seeing the ability to rush the passer because they want to box rush to this guy and then want to make sure that nobody is giving up any alleys for him to sneak out.
So that's what he's saying based off the quarterback that you're playing.
I mean, if you rush high, if you try to run the hoop, then you do give a big you vacate a big hole for him to try to sneak out of.
That being said, I thought you were leading towards the line of pressures are more important than sacks, and I would agree with that.
But when we're not getting pressures or sacks and those two guys, it's a little bit concerning.
Speaker 4Well, then they have five sacks on the Lawrence the week before and still kind of got beatn that game and a couple of times that they didn't have as what is Shawn just called a box rush and they let him get out of the pocket.
Then he heard him with the legs two or three plays also, so maybe there is more of a focus on you know, let's get pressure, but let's make sure we're saying our lanes to these quarterbacks.
As Tyler just saying, I ain't getting out and beating us with their feet.
Well, Herbert is key for if you play Herbert this Sunday.
Speaker 2Yeah, he's not quite as mobile as as Lawrence.
I mean he can run around a little bit, but he ain't like Trevor Lawrence.
Yeah, he can move, I mean sort of.
You know, he's another one of these big dudes that you know, you can scramble for five, six, seven, eight yards if you have to.
Lawrence, I think is more of a just a threat Perier.
Plus you know Herbert, they're trying to probably protect a little bit because his hand is hurt.
If let me, let me just run this past you guys.
If all the favorites win, okay, and everybody's like a heavy favorite, Broncos seven and a half, Patriots ten, Jacksonville like twelve.
Houston's a big favorite, and Buffalo's a big favorite too.
So if everybody just wins, that means and who do you like?
Do you like Baltimore or Pittsburgh?
You tell me who do you like?
Speaker 3Probably Baltimore right now?
Speaker 2You like Baltimore, Scott, you like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, you like Pittsburgh.
We can run both scenarios.
Speaker 3You see that performance from Derrick Henry, Oh my gosh, dude, that was an epic all time performance.
Speaker 2All right, Texans against Pittsburgh.
Who do you like?
Speaker 3Texans?
Speaker 4Scott?
Speaker 2It's in Houston, right, Nope, it'd be in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 4Uh sho, Houston, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3All right, he's a Pittsburgh guy.
Speaker 2Pitts Texans against uh Baltimoreans.
Speaker 4Texans?
Speaker 2All right, Tyler?
Speaker 3Yeah, I'd say Texans.
Speaker 2Okay, I'd say Texans for everything.
But that's that's fine.
You like uh Bills at Patriots?
Speaker 4Who do you like?
Speaker 3Patriots?
Speaker 4Landslide Scott Bills?
Speaker 3Oh?
Okay, you're just being contrarian.
Today's that what you're doing?
Speaker 4All right?
Speaker 3You hold on?
Hold on.
I gotta challenge you on that one a little bit way.
Where are you getting Bills over the Patriots right now?
Break that one down for me?
Uh?
Speaker 4Well, it's it's three weeks away.
And the reason I'm saying that, I think once the regular season is over, the real, the real season begins, and this is new for the Patriots and new for the quarterback, and I think it's a chance for the Bills to kind of reset.
I felt like the Bills and I'm not sure they're as good as they they've been in years past, but I just felt like the Bills were playing to just get to the postseason.
Well, you got what you wish for, all right, let me make it.
Speaker 2Let me make an adjustment on that, because I got a little head, I got a little over my skis on that, because if the Chargers losing the Bills when the Bills are favorite is let me do this again.
Although that's an interesting take.
Chargers against the Patriots.
Speaker 4Who do you like?
Patriots in Sandy in the New England?
Speaker 2Yes, New England, okay, fine, Bills against the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
Speaker 3Jaggs.
Speaker 4Bills, Okay.
Speaker 3Scott's gonna stick with the four minutes without being able to get first down yesterday.
Speaker 2That's fine, That's fine.
Fifty four minutes, all right in Scott scenario.
In Tyler scenario, it's the Broncos against the Texans at home.
In Scott scenario, it's the Broncos against the Bills in Denver.
Who do you like in that one?
Tyler?
I'll go, I'll go with you.
Broncos are Texas.
Speaker 3I actually think that's a decent matchup for the Broncos.
I mean, it's a very similar football team because it's a deft'sive oriented team, but at least it's not a team that offensively is gonna put up a million points.
So I'll take the Broncos at home.
Speaker 2Okay, Scott, you like the Broncos or the Bills.
Speaker 3We'll go on the Bills, though, Well, that's okay.
Speaker 2That's Scott scenario.
If he's got the Bills beating the Jaguars, they're the lowest seated team, and if the if the Broncos are number one, you'd be hosting the Bills.
I favored the Texan scenario, but I'll play along with Scott here.
So who do you like?
Bills are or Broncos?
Speaker 4You like Bill?
Speaker 2Okay?
Speaker 4Fine?
Speaker 2Under your scenario, Tyler, the Broncos just beat the Texans.
So Scott scenario, we're kind of done.
Scott's got the Broncos losing to the Bills at home and the season's over.
Okay, it was fun.
Under your scenario, you just beat the Texans.
You have the winner of Jacksonville the Patriots.
Who do you like, Tyler?
And Jacksonville would have to go to New England?
Who do you like in that one?
Speaker 4Hmmm?
Speaker 3Probably the Patriots, but I'm really tempted to take the Jags really tempted.
Speaker 2Yes, I want to.
Speaker 4See the Jags.
I still want to see their record.
They haven't played a lot of cold weather games.
I want to see.
And I think that that's been real for a lot of years.
I think they struggle in New England.
I'll take New England.
Speaker 2Okay, fine, so ultimately I'll just give you.
Speaker 3But I've got to come down to what everybody thought would come down to anyways, And I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.
I mean, Broncos against Broncos gets an old rival the Patriots.
Let's go.
I mean that what's old is do again?
You get to face off gets PATRIOTSFC championship game.
You got an old rivalry, it feels like a new rivalry.
You got two new young quarterbacks.
It would be a dream come true just from a fan perspective.
Speaker 2And you got winning.
Speaker 3Oh man, why why do you gotta put me on the spot there already?
Speaker 2Because that's where.
Speaker 4Before while he's saying about finishing up my who's in the ANFC Championship?
Speaker 2From my thing, you already got the Bills beating the Broncos.
Speaker 4You got no we could we could we could get an AFC representative for the super Bowl.
Speaker 2And we don't care.
After that, Scott, We're on to like who the Nuggets?
Speaker 4God, well, let me play the stupid courd.
Speaker 2You got the Broncos eliminated by the Bills.
We're moving on, man, lifelike.
It was a good scene.
Speaker 6Who would the Bills play?
In my scenario, the Bills would be playing the Bills would be playing the lower Uh, the Patriots.
The Bills would be playing the Patriots.
Speaker 4I thought they beat them in the first row.
Speaker 2Uh no, it's uh, there'd be the Chargers losing the Patriots.
The Bills would be beating Jacksonville in your scenario, so they'd be playing the Patriots.
In your scenario, you got the Bills going to the super Bowl.
There you go, all right, Tyler Broncos.
Speaker 3I'm not gonna be a buzzkill right now.
Put me on the spot in a couple of weeks and maybe I'll give you proper analysis on it.
But yeah, let's go Broncos in the super Bowl.
Speaker 2I think the progress are going to the super Bowl.
I think I agree with you.
Look at at all this, and I'm trying not to be a homer here, but I think all the fevers.
Speaker 3I worry a lot about that Patriots game.
I mean, that's a that's a damn good quarterback, and unfortunately Josh but Daniels is a dang good offensive coordinator and our defense has been slipping.
Speaker 4Well.
Speaker 2I have the Jags beating the Patriots, though I have the Jags coming back here.
Speaker 3Oh god, I think I'd rather play the Patriots and the Jags.
Speaker 4Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 3I'm hoping the Patriots beat the Jaguars.
Speaker 2I agree with you on that too.
Speaker 3But you got to beat in the Jags either way.
Speaker 2Yeah, because and stan Liam Cohen and that's great analysis.
Well, that's that's.
Speaker 4Where not we're not being Homer.
It sucks.
Speaker 3Exactly.
Speaker 4I'm not to me at kIPS.
Speaker 2Perfect perfect, That's where I'm at.
All right, Well, that's that's what it boils down to, and we'll see how it plays out.
But it's not there's no bias.
Broncos, you know, take care.
They they they they they Broncos destroyed the Jaguars.
You know what that means.
They went by like you know, three.
So that's the Broncos kicking ass.
It's PhD here on ninety two five.
I'm looking at the text line, it is funny this time of year, you do get the the guy could always be following falling sort of vibe.
You know, remember the Mark Brunell game.
The Broncos team was five times this one.
Remember that game?
Yeah that was a nightmare.
Yeah yeah, Well.
Speaker 4The interference call against Denver that would that would have turned out to like a pick six.
It said they went back and called interference and the guy who ran through the receiver intercept to the ball changed the game went down.
Heel from there.
Speaker 3Was it at Homer on the road?
Speaker 4Oh?
Home home?
Speaker 2Oh that's a Scott was on the call that one.
That was a legendary.
Speaker 3That was just the giant.
Speaker 2What game was it was a ninety seven Jacksonville Mark Burnell, Yeah, Scott, that was it probably did take the Jags a little too lightly.
What was what was the.
Speaker 4John Elway talked about it.
John Elway said it was the worst loss of his career.
Speaker 2Yeah, let me ask you a big question on that one though.
I was always told that because of that loss, not only were the Broncos motivated and went on to win the Super Bowl the next year, but it really propelled them to to Super bowls because of that.
Do you believe that?
Do you think that loss actually was a little bit of a fire starter for them to win two in row after that?
Speaker 4I think it was a fire start.
I don't know about two, but I think the second one was they were just I mean, they were in a groove, man.
They were in a groove that year.
If you remember, they won the first thirteen games in the season and then got bet on kind of a flukey, played against the Giants, blown out by Miami, and then won their last game to win fourteen.
But Ed McCaffrey told me after that game on a Sunday, he sat around just blues all evening and Monday he finally said, I'm going to go into the facility and work out.
On Tuesday said, I went in there and there's probably forty or fifty of my teammates.
Speaker 2That's crazy.
Speaker 4And he said, that's when I knew we'd be okay because guys were just as pee old as he was.
And the work started basically thirty hours after that loss.
They were getting back in the weight room ready to go.
So, yeah, I think I'm motivated for the next year.
Speaker 2Sure, here's a little Sean Payton.
Now, did you catch Sean being funny on Twitter over the weekend.
Speaker 3Yeah, that was kind of interesting, and I was trying to figure out why he was involving himself in that one.
A couple there were.
Speaker 2Two things there.
There was the NFC South thing where it was like, hey, it was like it was about an article about how great the Rams were, and he did.
Speaker 3Like anal perspective.
Speaker 2Yes, he did an upsound, upside down smiley face to that post because of course he goes to the you know, pass interference in the Saints and the Rams and all all that.
That goes back a little bit.
But there was another post too, Zach Stevens from d NVR, Sean Payton and the Broncos achieved their first goal.
A lot being made about the goals, the first goal of winning the AFC West, and so Sean gave that a smiley face because Zach was, you know, going above and beyond to talk about the first goal.
So today Zach asked a question coach.
Speaker 7First off, congratulations on winning the division, but you mentioned you have your eyes set on the next goal of getting the best seed possible.
Speaker 5How important goal the second one?
Speaker 7Yes, yes, the second one?
How important is it to uh?
To get that home field advantage and potential number one seed.
Speaker 5Well, look, I just historically speaking, it's extremely important.
You know, every every study would show you, and there's a number of reasons for that.
You know, these games are three hours long the first time.
Speaker 2And then he goes on why it's we all know why it's important to be the number one seed.
That was Sean kind of you know, that's lighthearted.
Speaker 3Sean Shawn had time to kill this week.
Speaker 2Sean was sitting around on the couch like all of us, just sort of watching games, looking at Twitter.
It's kind of like he's, you know, one of us, sort of moment from Sean Payne.
Guys like that.
Speaker 4You like, yeah, I'm sure he was just like a whole lot of people that day.
Geez, I bet I bet he was blanch Bring me the victors plan.
Speaker 2However, you enjoy your day off, Scott.
You know, who are we to judge how somebody has a I.
Speaker 4Have no judgment in that.
I'm just you know, you don't think that was maybe a motivation.
Speaker 2You think that's what was going on.
I think he's just like a Twitter.
Speaker 3I actually couldn't figure out until you just explained it to me.
Why he was giving that upside down face because I thought he was giving an upside down face like to the Falcons, like good luck becoming the Rams.
I didn't realize it was about the passenger fear.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, yeah, that's what it was about.
Speaker 4You know.
Speaker 2Today in the conference call too, he made a reference to the Broncos and he said, they like in the past, you know, like they they.
Speaker 4Did this, they did that.
Speaker 3I think that's pretty normal.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's still three years in and he's still it's not a it's not a you know, no.
Speaker 3You separate yourself from from your regime versus previous regime.
Speaker 4There's spate from previous regimes.
You just don't separate yourself from your past regime with in another city.
Speaker 2No, he doesn't lot to do that either, So he carries that and he separates from the Broncos then and now.
I don't know, listen, I think it's these are all just characteristics of Sean.
It's not a negative.
The guy is a damn good coach.
And you know, how about the fact that it's what is it him and Parcels five times with thirteen or more wins in a season.
Only two coaches who've ever done that NFL history.
I mean, that is who this dude is.
But he's also the same guy who says, do you say that.
Speaker 5There's the hats of the shirts?
My understanding is they're pretty ugly.
Speaker 2I mean it's that guy too.
It's that guy who did no celebration.
He didn't even mention it in the team meeting today.
Speaker 3I think that was the right move.
I honestly do what what are we gonna do?
We're gonna go go pops of balloons because we got some AFC West.
Speaker 2What do you do?
Speaker 3Nothing?
Speaker 4Nothing?
Speaker 3Nothing.
I mean it's one thing.
Would you win a game, but all of a sudden they hand you the hat on the field and everybody's celebrated.
You put that thing on, but it's like you just fall into it over the weekend.
What are you gonna do?
Throw it after the party, after the fact party.
Speaker 4I look at it.
Yeah, it is what it is when you know, they kind of got to back into it this way.
Great, Okay, the funny thing of him making fun of them being ugly and everything else.
I guess he just now pissed off one more branch of the NFL league officers than now, like you know, but.
Speaker 3They really are ugly.
They are really like, I wouldn't buy that hat.
If I had money to waste, I would.
Speaker 4I bought hats that were championship hats and stuff like that, and they're all a waste anyway.
Speaker 2Thirty eight bucks for that ugly hat.
Speaker 3No, I've still got like eight brand new, unworn AFC West Championship hats probably, like I don't even know.
I don't even know what to do with them.
They just they've been sitting in my closet for ten years.
Speaker 2Facebook Marketplace, dude.
Speaker 4Say save one, put it in plastic and donate the others.
Speaker 2Fake all sorts of pain manning autographs on them, and just you know, there you go.
Things left and right.
The Patriots had a different tone in their celebration.
But the Patriots were together.
Speaker 3Way different because they were actually watching the game together.
They celebrated it together.
Speaker 2Yeah, And then Vrabel got them all like I don't know where the buses were going, some sort of hanger or something before they got on a plane, I think, and they they took a picture and they all put the shirts on.
Speaker 8They seemed happy.
Speaker 2That's different.
They're all together, right, you know.
In Rabel Game of rah rah, and they're all, you know, getting on a plane and you know whatever.
I'm sure the Broncos would have done something like that, but it was.
Speaker 3Probably it was probably worthy of like a a passing and mentioned mentioned in passing in the team meeting, like hey, congrats win in THEFCUS Championship, but we're moving on, you know, even something like that, because though man.
Speaker 2One other coach in the league would rip on the fashion stylings of the hat and team.
Speaker 3Well, he ripped on the Broncos.
Uh when when they had to wear the.
Speaker 2Blues right right right, right right right, he's he's he's fashion forward that Sean Page.
Speaker 5I haven't seen the hats of the shirts.
My understanding is they're pretty ugly.
Speaker 4All right.
Speaker 2Do you guys like that the Broncos didn't celebrate at all?
Speaker 3I mean at all, like nothing I do.
Speaker 4You can celebrate Sunday?
So you so you like it?
Oh?
So yeah?
Speaker 2You you like that they didn't do anything today?
Speaker 4Yeah?
I liked that they did nothing nothing.
Go go go win that game Sunday and celebrate this exactly?
Who cares about?
Yeah, have a block party out in the guy's parking lot.
Speaker 3I assumed we won the AFC West about four weeks ago.
Speaker 2Alright, cool, like, we've been there, We've been here before.
This ain't no big deal.
We're not going to celebrate this.
Speaker 3No, do you do?
Speaker 2You celebrate the number one scene you went Sunday?
Something there you.
Speaker 3Do that's worthy of celebration, for sure?
Speaker 2Something there?
Speaker 4Right.
Speaker 2I gotta admit I started laughing out loud when I heard Sean say that today it was a riot.
Speaker 4I actually think.
Speaker 2It's kind of cool.
Speaker 3If we're baseball, we'd have goggles on a random Monday.
Speaker 2Oh god, oh my god, it'd be ridiculous.
All right, well, let's get to where everything lays and let's catch out with the Nuggets to see what's give you an update with the Avalanches.
Speaker 4They just everybody one quick a note that history continues one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirty five.
Do you realize this is the fifteenth straight year that that either Kansas City or Denver has won the AFC West.
Speaker 2That's crazy.
Speaker 4Fifteen years that's either be in Denver or Denver had an ice run, or it's in Kansas City.
I mean fifteen years.
Speaker 2We'll get into the other games this week.
But did you guys catch how the raiders just lay down to the giants too?
Speaker 4Oh my god, it didn't you expect it?
Speaker 3Isn't that?
I mean you should be advocating for it.
Speaker 4I yeah, I think about Cleveland too.
We need to talk about that today.
Speaker 2We'll get into all of it coming up.
It's PhD On ninety two five.
