Listen to PhD Live every weekday from noon to three on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five and on the Altitude Sports Radio app.
Speaker 2All right, here we are tonight.
It's the double dipperou with the Nuggets at the heat, and then we've got the Abs and the Kings that's down at Ball Arena.
Wedgewood will be between the pipes.
So we got you covered on ninety two five for the Nuggets and the Heat, the nine point fifty pregame at six thirty four, the Abs and the Kings, and you go from there.
Scott is in Miami with the Nuggets after I thought that lass sucked actually against Orlando.
There, Scott, I know the refs got it wrong.
According to their last two minute report.
Maurice should have been at the free throw line, and that would have given the Nuggets a chance to take lead and hopefully win.
Who knows.
But how do they get there in the first place is the big question?
You know, what are what are the Nuggets doing that they're they're they're being scattered with these leads.
Speaker 3Uh that the bench's bench is having to.
Speaker 4Play that bottom line, I think it's that simple.
Speaker 3Uh, here's my biggest fear is you guys remember remember the year after they won and Murray got hurt and went down for thirty games it seemed like that year and Reggie Jackson had to start.
Yeah, yeah, And I remember Chris Chris Martle tell me a story he walked down with and Reggie's playing pretty good at the beginning of that and he goes to Reggie, goes, man, how you do this?
Crainy goes, man, this this is horrible.
He goes He goes, I didn't come back here to play thirty seven minutes a game.
He said, I'm dying.
And if you remember the second half of the season, he had zero legs.
And I just hope, I just hope they don't do that too.
You know Hardaway, who's in great shape.
Man, he's a phenomenal condition.
But you know they're playing those guys.
You know they're playing guys you brought in here and play eighteen minutes.
They're you know, the Minnesota game, which I don't know if you guys talked about that game at all, but that Minnesota game, I think the least amount any starter played was forty one.
Speaker 2Did we talk about that game.
Speaker 4Yeah, yeah, I mean, I mean, I mean even think about it.
Speaker 3I mean, you got guys in there that you you kind of hope it was gonna play eighteen minutes a game.
We're playing forty one forty two minutes, and I just I just think eventually that's gonna wear you out.
Speaker 4Uh.
Speaker 3And the one thing that that I think really was part of their success was that they did do such a good job with their bench and expanding it and making it deeper.
And I was reading the stat today out pulled up a little bit later.
But they're not up there at the top as far as games myths, you know, missed per game, or injury due to or games miss due to injury.
But if you look at starters injuries due to miss team, they're they're up there.
Speaker 4At the very top.
Speaker 2Okay, Well, and I think that's a I really really do that.
Speaker 4I think that's a big one.
Speaker 2I mean, what would you be happy with for this road trip in terms of a record over seven games?
Speaker 4Four and three?
Speaker 2I think I'd be happy with three and four?
Tyler?
Speaker 5What do we do?
Speaker 4We go?
Speaker 5We go heat and then what uh heat Toronto, Cleveland, Brooklyn, Philly back to back Boston home.
Yes, I mean the front end of it isn't too bad, right.
Speaker 2Well, you let one slip away unfortunately.
Speaker 3Well, but Orlando is a is a playoff team.
They are playing a different style.
They're missing with injuries right right now.
Also, uh, Toronto's rebuilding, but they're the Funny thing, the teams that you're playing the next three or four are like, put the foot on the gas pedal and let's go.
Let's see if you can stay with us.
And with a show order bench that that's worrisome.
Speaker 5Yeah, they see it.
Speaker 3Four four, Yeah, you always you always want to be positive.
Listen, you win three or four, you've had an okay road trip.
But if you and four three, anytime you're above five hundred on a road.
Speaker 2Trip, you got to I would be jubilation.
I'd be putting on an ugly hat and T shirt if they could win four out of seven on this road trip, which which now would.
Speaker 4Be I mean, what you do today?
So you already think they're gonna win today?
Speaker 2I don't know, man, I hope So.
Speaker 4You got the ugly hat and T shirt on?
Speaker 2Wow?
Hey, by the way, can I get some props to bow Nicks did you see what he's doing.
Man, he's uh, he's selling his ooverver no overdogs, overdogs thing.
He's selling it for charity.
Like he's got hats and t shirts.
Remember all the critical things when he was selling merch on a you know, bu ba bum.
Well, now he's selling the stuff and it's all going to charity, and I think it's going to like, uh, animal shelters or something like that mission never rescue mission.
Oh okayver rescue mission.
That's different, but but.
Speaker 4A little bit different.
Speaker 2But the point is he's doing the overdog thing, which is kind of funny.
I'm gonna go buy I'll buy an overdog march for something as long as I know it's going to something kind of cool.
You know it's going to charity.
Speaker 3Should You saw him with the Kurt Herb Street he didn't like dogs.
Speaker 5We talked about it last week, Scott.
I thought that was the greatest thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 2What's your take on that?
Speaker 5Who could be afraid of a Golden retriever?
Speaker 4Yeah?
Speaker 3But I tell you what, I was afraid of dogs for a while when I was super little, but I had a German shepherd chased my ass up over a fence and I jumped and he nipped at me and got a pair of my pants.
Afraid of dogs for a little bit, we always had dogs.
Speaker 5So Herbstreet ask him if he's been bitten.
He said no, he said he's never.
Speaker 4He said, he said they had been bit but one nip Daddy pretty good.
Speaker 2He thought he got freaked out when he was a kid.
You know, we found out a bunch listen, by the way, we found a shocking amount of people who have been sort of traumatized by dogs when they were younger, that are kind of afraid of dogs now, like Scott.
The text line kind of lit up with stories like that.
Our own Vick Lombardi says he's afraid of dogs and he has a dog, which the Queen of Chicken must rule that roost.
I suppose if you're afraid of the dogs, and he got one.
Speaker 3I was afraid of dogs forever, especially bigger dogs, until I had my first one.
Then it changed, No, no like dogs.
Speaker 5Yeah, well yeah, I think it's weird.
Speaker 2I could see somebody that just being like kind of they're not a dog person, so they're annoyed.
But Bo is like afraid, like like freaking out about it.
Speaker 5And everybody knows what a golden Retrieve, even bo Nicks knows what a golden Retriever is.
Speaker 3It's a breathing they they are, Yeah, they are about one of the most docile dogs in the world.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I guess last year had jumped up.
I mean there's a video of it jumping up on bow and it was playful.
I get it.
I just find dog Jay.
Speaker 3If you got a dog that jumps up on people, you ain't.
You ain't got that dog controlled.
Speaker 5Okay, Well, his old dog, his old dog that died.
He used to run that thing around without a leash on at NFL games.
That dog was under control.
This one's still a pup.
Speaker 4I guess all right.
Speaker 2We do have a fun back and forth with you.
Speaker 3Get to take the dog on all these world chips.
I got a little issue with that.
Speaker 2Talk to us keep a dog at home?
Speaker 4Okay, forty eight hours?
All right?
Speaker 2So you think herb Street's out of line having the dog with him in the first place.
Speaker 4Yeah, I think it's a gimmick that's run its course.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 3Because I also don't like animals.
I also don't like like players doing interviews and bringing their kids up to the stand.
Speaker 2Okay, it's a very popular move.
It's been in the playoffs.
Speaker 4Yep.
Speaker 2I think the Herb Street with the dog thing is interesting, like it's tough to be critical of dogs and everybody loves Golden Retrievers apparently except for bow Nicks, but it is.
It is interesting, like Herb Street.
Should everybody be able to just, you know, bring their dog because a lot of people have dogs, but Herb Street gets to do that and that's his thing.
Speaker 5Yeah, Well, when you're on top, you're on top, man, That's the way I got.
Rules are different for those folks.
Speaker 2Different rules for different folks.
Huh, it would be.
Speaker 5I don't think the I don't I don't think the grandpa's holding the sticks on the sideline for the first down.
Markers get to bring their dogs.
Speaker 4They do not.
So what he flies commercial?
Does he bring it on the plane with.
Speaker 5He doesn't fly commercial?
Speaker 2Well, he probably did.
Tyler's probably right, he probably.
Speaker 5I mean he puts out a video every week of his dog on the private jet on.
Speaker 4The p y.
Yeah.
Speaker 2He is the king of the castle man, Herb Street's he's up there.
It is a funny point though, like should we all be able to bring dogs with us.
Speaker 5Sure, work would be a better place.
Speaker 2We all just could bring dogs to the work.
Yeah where we go?
Speaker 5Just you guys would love Sampson Fields.
I'm bringing Samson tomorrow.
Speaker 3Bringing Sampson in, Yeah cool, Bringing to the rest of the week.
Speaker 2Yeah, sure the hell.
Speaker 5I'm bringing him in in two weeks.
Speaker 4Got all right?
Speaker 2I got a little piece here, Skiff Baylist and a Keev to leave.
I think this is the ultimate argument about the Broncos.
I think this is the ultimate back and forth.
So what side do you land on?
Here's a keyban skipped.
Speaker 6You're gonna have the biggest letdown you've ever had in your sports watching life.
Speaker 7Really, I know how you feel.
But we really beat out them the whole game, really, like not even close.
We got we got three drive they have fifty seven yards passing?
Speaker 4Skip?
Was we really struggle?
Speaker 6How did you let them hang around with fifty sevens?
Speaker 7They got a good defense.
It's a division game, They're gonna come play their hardest.
It's the NFL.
NFL, you got about fifteen games a week.
Only by four of them is gonna be blowout.
Speaker 6You're playing a quarterback who doesn't belong in the.
Speaker 7Name you look like that if you had fifty seven yards passing, you act like we ain't dominate him.
Speaker 6You've won each of the last seven games by only one score, so you're not exactly streaking into the playoffs.
Last year, Kansas City went thirteen to zero in one score games during the regular season and then because they had home field advantage, which you may have, you may have it, and Kansas City got to the Super Bowl and you're Philadelphia Eagles exposed.
Speaker 7What was the Philadelphia Eagles record in one score games?
They was like nine to one one score games, but dominated in one score game.
Speaker 6Got it exposed and I look up and it's forty to six.
When you least expected it, you get exposed.
That's what's gonna happen to your team.
You're cruising for the bruising.
Speaker 4You're gonna have the.
Speaker 6Biggest letdown you've ever had in your sports watching life is gonna come in the playoffs.
Speaker 2Okay, fun argument.
Here are the Broncos cruising for a bruise, and like Skip said meme, they're like a paper lion that's just not real or is this just how they are?
Like they might not win, but they're not about to get blown out, and a Keep's basically saying the Keeps making the argument I kind of made like you really did kill the Chiefs except for the scoreboard when you look at everything else.
And Skip's saying, you're about to be exposed, man, and it's gonna hurt.
Is your team just ain't that good.
Speaker 5You're not gonna get exposed if you get the number one, So I handle your business.
It gets a Chargers team that probably isn't gonna be playing their starters anyways.
You get that number one seed, they're not good.
Exposed.
You play at home, things are gonna be different.
I do think if you went on the road, it could be a rough.
Speaker 2Go Skoyle, what do you think.
Speaker 3Yeah, I think it's gonna be rough either way.
Speaker 4But I'll say this to Skip.
Speaker 3Can City got exposed against Philadelphia in the Super Bowl.
But guess what they went there for the four time in five years.
Speaker 2Well, you get they had you caught.
Speaker 3Them at the end of their run.
This is like a team just starting to run.
You gotta believe is if this, if they could somehow keep the defense together and keep their defensive coordinator, which I don't think they will, the offense has got to get better.
You're gonna have a you know, the twenty eighth pick, twenty ninth pick, You'll get you a wide receiver.
You know, win went ahead of schedules.
Speaker 4Nothing.
Speaker 3Listen, this year is wide open.
This this is the one year a suspect offensive team could win a Super Bowl.
Speaker 4And Denver could be that team.
Okay, I don't know if they could go on the road and be that team.
Speaker 2You just watched the Lway documentary were the Broncos and the first three Super Bowls with John Elway exposed eventually in the Super.
Speaker 4Bowl Well, and it goes back to this and gosho do we have on?
Was it?
Speaker 3Zipolo said it?
That first Super Bowl they went to that was John Elway's MVP year.
I mean he put that team on his back and absolutely carried him guiantst The next couple they went to Washington Defense Washington, Yeah, and we're up ten to nothing.
They had a chance to go up seventeen to nothing, and they negated a fumble and then what did he say?
Was it thirty five straight points?
Well, that's you know, your offense not moving the ball very well.
Speaker 2And then the Niners gets a blowout from start to finish.
Speaker 3Yeah, but you still scored what twenty eight points or something that forty five twenty eight or something.
Speaker 2That against the Niners.
Yeah, it was fifty five.
To know, you got killed by the Niners, bro like that.
Speaker 4That was like I thought it was fifty eight twenty four or forty eight twenty four.
Speaker 2It was in the fifties.
You got killed.
Speaker 3But I know that I think they scored in the twenties.
That was the one game.
I thought they scored a little bit, but now it didn't matter.
Speaker 8No.
Speaker 3I thought John Elway carried those teams to it and he kind of said it and said the turnaround for them was when they got Terrell Davis unbelievable running back.
He didn't mention his names.
But you brought Alex Gibbs in, who got the perfect rules, right, Tyler.
You got the perfect rules and the perfect alignment for those rules to run what Alex Gibbs and Mike wanted to do, and they just I wish you could go back and watch all thirty two games that that ninety seven to ninety eight year and just watch how they ran the football dog Man.
Speaker 4That was.
That was some glorious, glorious stuff.
Speaker 2Do you believe the Broncos are going to be exposed in the playoffs.
Speaker 5No, I mean, I think that's what we were just talking about.
More or less.
I think it's the same thing.
You get.
You handle your business this week, and they're not going to get exposed because you've got a good defense that gets to play at home in the likelihood of somebody coming into this city and you might get beat maybe, but your defense isn't gonna get exposed.
I do think by the way, you get Nick Benito, you get Jonathan Cooper back at home, you get that crowd noise I expected to come back to life and look like it had for the far majority of the season.
Speaker 2Okay, why do you say that?
Speaker 5Why Because defensive players feed off of crowd noise.
Speaker 2Okay, all right, I'll tell you this.
The Chargers offensive line has been kind of a mess the whole year.
I mean, they have been putting it together with band aids and scotch tape there on the offensive line.
Speaker 5Are you talking about this week or you're talking about a playoff game?
Speaker 2I mean, I'm talking about this week, and I guess I'm just talking about this week.
I don't think you're gonna see the Chargers again.
I think you're about to beat the Chargers and that'll be it for the Chargers.
I think the Chargers will be the seventh seed, and I think they'll get destroyed by New England.
I think that's exactly how it's gonna go.
Speaker 3Listen, I just and I understand what Tyler's take a while ago.
Let's vrabel like, thanks, Drake may He's got a bigger arm and looks down the thing.
But you do know that New England played like the easiest schedule of all thirty two teams.
Sure right, I think Denver was third.
Speaker 2Uh, that sounds familiar.
I mean that you play who you played because of where you finished the year before.
Speaker 3I understand that.
But but now you you ain't playing.
You know you ain't gonna play anybody with less than eleven wins.
Speaker 2Probably I we'd agree with you on that.
I don't think you're gonna I don't think the Broncos are gonna run into the Steelers of the Ravens because I think whoever the five seed, which I think is gonna be the Texans, will beat the Ravens or the Steelers.
I do believe that.
I don't care.
I think the Texans are just better than both of those teams, both of them.
And we'll get into uh in about five minutes.
We're gonna get into all the games from over the weekend, so we can go into detail with that.
But yeah, and I think the I think that Bill's New England game will be really interesting if it goes how it should go this weekend, that that would be the matchup.
We'll see, we'll see on that.
And then you got the giantar.
Speaker 3There's me is if if you've got to beat a team twenty twenty or thirty twenty seven, who can't you put?
Can you put thirty on the board?
Well, it could be could be the Patriots, could be it could be Jacksonville, it could be New England, could be San Diego.
Maybe who knows?
Can can you put at least in Lord thirty points?
Speaker 2Well then you'd have to look at their defenses.
How's the Jacksonville defense?
How's the I don't think you're gonna have to know.
Speaker 4What did Jacksonville's defense hold you to?
Last week?
Speaker 5You know, I mean I think you can what was the score against the Packers's twenty seventh?
Speaker 4Like that?
Like that?
Speaker 5Not not quite thirty points.
Speaker 4Packers in the playoffs.
Speaker 2The Packers are in the playoffs, I think.
Speaker 4Are they are?
They?
Are?
They?
Are?
Speaker 1They?
Speaker 2I think they are?
Yeah, they're They're in.
Speaker 4They're in.
Speaker 2They're clinched.
Yeah they're They're clinched and they're clinch and they're the seventh seat.
Speaker 5Why you and Sanuay?
The Packers aren't good?
Speaker 4I don't think.
Maybe it was good as you thought.
Speaker 5Yeah, I mean they didn't look great this weekend.
I'll give you that.
Speaker 2Yeah, the shine is off the bloom a little bit there with them.
Speaker 3But I just worry about I worry about their offense more than their defense, and I know Tyler's had more concerns the last two or three weeks.
Speaker 4With their defense.
Speaker 3I think, as long as you can keep Sean Payton out of the defense you play calling, you'll be fine.
Speaker 2Are the Broncos you know, like, are your cruising for a bruising?
I don't think so.
But I understand why that's a national narrative about the Broncos, like they're just wait and see.
You know you've you've been getting by by the skin of your teeth, and it's it's coming for you.
Speaker 3But that I mean, it's just as Denver left points on the board almost in all those one score games.
Would you not say that Denver's left points all over the field, no doubt about it.
Speaker 5We certainly left points on the field this weekend.
Speaker 2No doubt about it, right, no doubt about it.
Speaker 3That's where you know, if they listen, I got Bo.
Bo played an entire game, four quarters of bad football, the last two quarters of Jacksonville, in the first two against Kansas City and then the second half last week.
I thought he looked pretty good against Kansas City, but the first half he was.
And again and it goes back with Tyler said in training camp and then set again in the first two or three weeks he started getting those happy feet again.
If Bo can stay away from from dancing in the rain, if we can just keep him out of doing the seeing and in the rain just seeing, if we can keep him away from that, there ain't no reason they can't go to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2Well, let's get see what happened this weekend and how that sets up for the Broncos or NFL.
We can recap comes up next.
Let's go over the games and see how things shake out in terms of how it relates to the Broncos.
We start with the Patriots being the crap out of the Jets.
Speaker 8May inside, HiT's digs, h's a touchdown and that catch he's worth five hundred thousand bucks too.
Speaker 2We got a lot of incentives being bad off one way or the other.
But Drake May was unbelievable.
So were the Patriots.
Nineteen to twenty one for two fifty six.
Basically a perfect game from Drake May with five touchdowns and you could sit on the sidelines and just watch Josh Dobbs finish it up.
Okay, is this how good the Patriots are or how bad the Jets are?
Speaker 5Well, we watched the Jags do the same thing to the Jets a couple of weeks ago, right, we watched Trevor Lawrence have the greatest quarterback game of all time.
It gets Jets through five touchdowns, ran for one as well.
It's both things can be true.
The Jags were a good team and the Patriots a good team, and the Jets suck.
Speaker 3Scott Jets stink And are they going to get the first or second pick somewhere in there?
Speaker 5Right?
Speaker 4They're tired with their third?
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean I think the Raiders got that on lockdown right now.
Speaker 4Yeah, it'll be Yeah, they just stink.
Speaker 2I mean they're right there.
I mean the Giants are three and thirteen, Cardinals are three and thirteen in the Jets, I mean they're all they all suck.
We'll get to the raiders of the Giants in a second.
All right, let's move on to the next game, and that's the Texans.
I mean, you know, it was a boring game, but they took care of business against the Chargers.
Speaker 4Stroud trying to get it through the air, He goes.
Speaker 5Deep for Higgins, caught.
Speaker 8Higgins, touchdown, Texan seventy five yards.
Speaker 2All right, what do we learn about the Chargers in this game?
Speaker 5Boys, Well, they got they got offensive line issues.
Justin Herbert still banged up.
Herbert is like he might be the greatest, like could have been quarterback of all time, but you really might not ever be anything.
Speaker 4Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 5I don't know what to say, Like I'd take Herbert and a heartbeat if I needed a quarterback.
But man, he does find a way to just be Okay, would you need him to be at his best?
Speaker 2Scott?
Speaker 3Yeah, but they got a crap offensive line and what did they get to him?
Speaker 2Four or five times in that game, five times five sacks, But.
Speaker 3Do you see the two or three times he escaped and made place?
I mean, dude, if they get an offensive line, I think the Chargers could be scary.
Speaker 2I think a lot of I think it's remarkable what Harbaugh has done with the same period.
I'm really not afraid of the Chargers guys at this time, this week period.
I don't care if Herbert's playing or not.
I don't care if they're going full tilled.
I mean, I think the Broncos are seven and a half point favorite.
I don't know if that's Vegas telling us they think that Harbaugh is gonna rest Herbert.
Speaker 5Oh, it's definitely Vegas telling you that the line wouldn't look like that if Herbert and the starters are playing.
Speaker 2There's no way I like the Broncos over the Chargers one way or the other.
So I don't I don't even I don't even even matters.
I think the Broncos will take care of business.
Speaker 5We always seem to struggle against the Chargers, though always.
Speaker 2This one feels different.
Speaker 5I don't know.
Speaker 3I think if you're for real, then what you're saying is completely right, Darren.
Speaker 4If there's cause for concern.
It'll be it'll be iffy.
Speaker 2By the way, as as terrible and as quirky as those short weeks are.
Man, the upside of these, like many bye weeks.
If you can, if you can win, if you can get through, it's pretty awesome.
Like, doesn't it feel like a long time since the Broncos have played at this point?
As a player, does it feel like that too?
Like, Man, this is a nice little break here.
Speaker 5Yeah, the Thursday night games, it's a love hate situation.
You hate it when you're playing in it, but the second it's over, you love the long weekend.
Speaker 2We move on to uh.
Speaker 3Then if you can win this week, then you have another long buye and and you've got a chance to be going into the playoffs as healthy as you've been since Week four.
Speaker 2Pretty damn good, no doubt about it.
Okay, the Jags, it was a close game, hey, Philip Rivers gave it a shot.
It was a good competitive game against the Jaguars.
Speaker 9Hi the last couple of weeks, first and goal for the Jags quarterback truck second time today seems first Jacksonville.
Speaker 2Game was a lot closer than I thought it was gonna be Yeah.
Speaker 5I actually didn't think the Jags looked particularly great in this game.
The Cult turned out a very good football team.
They really took it down to the wire.
Trevor Lawrence said, to have another good game, you know through two sexty three and one touchdown.
But that game should have been a blowout from the Jags.
Speaker 3What the biggest thing now is what's the message on Philip Rivers?
I mean, is he is there a Disney movie coming somewhere down the line.
Speaker 2It was a cool moment.
I mean, he brought up the three losses, he brought his Yeah, he brought his high school team out there, which was kind of neat that all the kids were at the game, which is pretty cool.
Speaker 5It's I will say this.
I think it's more a tell on the current quarterback play than as anything else.
The fact that Philip Rivers could come in and look like that he did all right, that these quarterbacks aren't built the same, although there are some quarterbacks like Mac Jones.
My gosh, like that dude, if you didn't miss half the year, that guy would be an MVP.
Conversation.
Speaker 2Do you think Philip Rivers plays in the meaningless final Colts game or do the Colts.
Speaker 5Like sounds like they've already made their mind up that he's not going.
Speaker 2To okay, which makes sense, right, Like, it would be.
Speaker 3Cool if they let him out there to start run one play and then substituting him right there and just let the whole crowd give him a standing ovation.
Speaker 5That would be cool.
Speaker 2Do they keep him on the team.
No, they cut him right he's done.
Yeah, well you mean before the game.
Yeah, no, they don't cut him.
He goes in the game as the backup you have.
Speaker 5You know you don't do that, Philip.
I mean you absolutely keep mind.
Speaker 2Just keep them to hang out and just sort of be there.
Yeah, last game of the year, but you start Riley Leonard and Philip Rivers as your backup quarterback.
Speaker 3Okay, they ain't, no clar he may still get in a piece of backup.
Speaker 2I don't know why he'd be on the team at all, aside from being sentence y.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, if nothing more.
You keep him on there for respect, absolutely, because he came out.
Speaker 4Listen.
Speaker 3They may have lost those three games, but you're gonna hang those three losses.
I thought he was phenomenal too.
So listen, if if if you were to cut him.
If you were to cut him and just to go all things that, then you are a low class franchise and I hope nothing good ever happens to the Colts.
Speaker 4I agree.
Speaker 2We move on to Orchard Park, New York, where the Eagles and some inclement conditions got over by one on the Bills.
Speaker 5All look at it from complete, don't see a flag?
He egles gonna hold on.
Speaker 2Do you like the decision to go for Tim.
Speaker 5I do, because you sucked.
I mean, you were terrible the entire football game.
By the way, the afternoon slot also sucked.
Yesterday.
You only had two games going on.
You had a bad Bills game, and then you had the Giants versus the Raiders, so there weren't a whole lot of options of what to watch.
I watched every single second of the Bills game.
I kept waiting for them to make it interesting.
I guess at the end of the day, with five minutes left, it got interesting and it was pretty fun to watch the last few minutes.
But they had no choice but to go for two because they knew that they couldn't go win in overtime.
Scott, Yeah, I'm with him, and tell me what TWN to stay a while ago.
They had fifty five minutes of no offense or fifty four minutes of no offense, couldn't get a first down, and then you finally get a touchdown late to pull within one.
I'm with them, I go for two and if he makes a better throw, it's they win the game.
Speaker 4And you're sitting there going, oh my gosh.
Speaker 2Really all right, we move on to a really fascinating game.
I don't think they're going to put it in the Hall of Fame or anything, but the Steelers losing in Cleveland back in an eight this bash.
Speaker 8To fan in he caught it any wrongs untouched Harold Fannin junior with his seventy first.
Speaker 5Catch of the year.
Speaker 2So Shader Sanders gets a win seventeen to twenty three for a buck eighty six, a touchdown, two interceptions, the second one I mean awful, a QBR out of one hundred of thirty seven point three, a quarterback rating of seventy five point six.
But meanwhile, let me introduce you to Aaron Rodgers legend with a QBR of nineteen point six and really a whole lot of nothing from Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 5But what did you do with the game on the line.
Hit with the game on the line, and you got a two minute drill and you backed up that dude.
He went the length of the field.
I mean it was two good passes.
Pat Firemouth was the big one that got that thing started.
They had zero timeouts.
Also, there was like a minute forty three.
He had to go the length of the field, zero timeouts, got to like the five yard line with forty seconds to spare, and they just coult him punch it in.
Speaker 2Okay, what does this game say then about the Steelers Shadeur and in the future for Aaron Rodgers, I guess and Mike Tomlin.
Speaker 5Well, I mean they're all short lived, if that's what you're asking.
Speaker 2All of them, all of them Shadur short lived.
Speaker 5Well, has definitely not done anything to say that I'm the future quarterback.
Speaker 2Didn't do it in this game by getting the win.
Speaker 4You know what.
Speaker 3He hasn't done anything Maybe to say I'm the starter depends on what they're able to do in the draft.
He's at least say you better let him compete legitimately compete for next year.
Uh.
And I think what else he said?
Although big thing with Shadur is the baggage, right, everything and baby and bangman do you want to But he could play fifteen years a backup quarter make him quarterback, make five six million dollars a year and be fine.
Speaker 5You know, he definitely is not a gad.
Speaker 3Maybe get the sand France or someplace that that refurbishes quarterbacks and all of a sudden you can get a Sam Darnold contract.
Speaker 2There are moments when looks really good actually, and then there's moments when he you know, has his dad put his cowboy hat over his head because he's throwing a dumb interception.
There's those moments too.
I think he would be, at the end of the day a very frustrating quarterback to be your lead guy there in Cleveland.
Speaker 5I'll tell you this, Yeah, if you were drafted higher, his performance would have been enough that you would want to see it through.
Yeah, But because he's a sixth rounder, he didn't do enough to wow you to be like, yeah, we're not gonna draft a QB.
Speaker 3I thought, listen, he's got an arm, he's got good enough.
He's good enough.
He keep plays alive.
I like some of the stuff he really does.
And then he and then he looks like a rookie quarterback that still struggles to read defenses properly.
Speaker 5Yeah, but if we're being honest, like, it's not like cam mood the number one overall pick, has looked that great this year.
Of course, he is not the best quarterback the bunch has been.
Tyler Shuck all right, Yes, he's actually been good man.
Speaker 2Last one to go through Niners and the Bears.
Speaker 1He's checking motion, still purty, with a clean pocket.
Speaker 5It's complete.
It's John Jennings to the pylon touchdown.
The Niners take the blame.
Speaker 2Would I be crazy to say I think the Niners are going to play in Santa Clara at a home game in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5No, God, no, that's not an insane take at all.
Speaker 2Because that's how I think it's gonna shake out.
Speaker 5Mac Jones.
I mean, you had the take of Trevor Lawrence a wild ago, Like if you just took right now, Mac Jones is playing as good a quarterback as anybody in the NFL.
It's actually stupid what Mac Jones has been doing.
I really like the Bears as well.
By the way, in the future with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams, it looks fantastic.
Caleb made some stupid, crazy plays in that game, as did mac Jones.
Speaker 2Are you saying you mean Brock Party?
Speaker 5What did I say, mac Jones?
I'm sorry, Yes, of course, yes, of course I meant to say Brock Party.
Speaker 4Sorry.
Speaker 5Okay, yeah, Brock I've heard he has been playing absolutely fantastic.
So you know, listen, NFC is still out for grabs and the Eagles are looking better at the right time.
But I could see that happening.
Speaker 10Uh.
Speaker 3I thought that was the game to determine who's who's gonna win Coach.
Speaker 4Of the Year.
Speaker 2Hmm, Okay, you know all right.
Speaker 3And I don't know if anybody will appreciate it, but to me, with the turmoil that San Francisco has gone through, for them to be where they are right now, I think is absolutely phenomenal.
It's a great division.
And Tyler's right, did brob pretty till five again this week?
How many touchdowns you get this week?
Speaker 2Let's see here, Brock Prudy twenty four of thirty three, three over three, three touchdowns and a pick, only sacked.
Ones had a rushing touchdown too, and a rushing touchdown as well.
Speaker 3Yes, in the week before, actually so two weeks in a row, he's gotten them ten touchdowns correct, either either by passing or by He's.
Speaker 5Been crazy good God correct, like worth every last dime that he got paid good.
Speaker 2I think they're gonna get to the super Bowl.
I think they're gonna well, it'll be a fascinating game.
Well Saturday night.
Speaker 5Let's see what happens with Trent Williams.
Uh that that's gonna be huge factor as well.
They need him to be healthy.
Speaker 2Well a way, Hey, we're gonna have one hell of a matchup Saturday night with them hosting Seattle.
And then I saw.
Speaker 5A stat over the weekend that Sam Darnold is only the second quarterback to have back to back thirteen win seasons.
Speaker 4The other one is Tom Brady.
Speaker 2It's crazy, all right, good stuff, No dumb questions.
Three oh three, five, four nine two five.
We'll get there next.
Speaker 1Columbus Hastings and Dmac present dumb dumb, dumb, dum dumb, no dumb questions.
Speaker 5This is your safe space, safe place.
Speaker 2I'm leaning into the segments.
Speaker 1You're a smart guy, Send us your not dumb question now, tweet it, text it, twitch it.
It's no dumb questions on out to Sports Radio nine.
Speaker 2Al Right, I want to use this sound from Bill Kowar and the start off.
No dumb questions with whether you agree or disagree with Bill Kyleer saying this.
Speaker 10Denver, it's going against the LA Chargers.
Right, Chargers can't win the division.
They know they're playing the following week.
The question I asked for Jim Harball, how do you approach this game?
How would you personally?
I would look at this as almost like a bye week.
Yeah, I can't improve my seating.
I can't go get I'm not playing next week, no matter what.
I need my guys as healthy as parts.
You're saying Justin Herbert would not be on that field.
Yeah, I can't afford to look two.
Speaker 5Or three of your stars might not play anybody.
Speaker 10It's called any kind of nick Right now.
I need you healthy for the following week because this week is It doesn't mean it's essentially using two weeks to heal up.
Speaker 2All right, no dumb question.
Do you agree with Kyler on that or not?
Would you rest Justin Herbert because you got bigger things to play for?
Speaker 5Yeah, yeah, I definitely would.
You Gotta look at it like does does a win?
Does the seeding really even matter to you?
Does it matter that much where you go on the road.
Either way, you got to play before you get to the broncos of the Patriots got to win a game, and the best way to do that is to have your guys healthy.
I'm looking at my quarterback like I'm scared.
I'm a little bit nervous right now.
My only chance in the playoffs is keeping this dude healthy, and we're getting him banged up.
He's already hurt, he's gotten injury, he's playing through that.
We got to banged up offensive line.
I'm resting my guys because I don't really care where I gotta go.
I just know I gotta win a game in the playoffs, and you gotta win.
Speaker 4A game on the road.
Speaker 3Yeah, I will say this.
I just thought about this.
There's also mental risk is if you if you go in said we're gonna go in and win this game and don't and you know, forget about the injuries and everything else.
But then all of a sudden you go in with the legit loss going in the postseason, that could miss you up psychologically.
Speaker 4Whereas if you think this as.
Speaker 3A big buye you know, and Denver wins or you know, say you even kind of keep it semi closed, which Denver's good at doing.
You go, see, boys were all right, we all right, and we didn't even give them nothing.
They couldn't handle us.
It's kind of interesing you go out there with your starters and lose the game.
You might go, wait a minute, we thought these guys are gonna be cupcakes.
Speaker 2Also true, that's a good point.
Speaker 5And another angle is if you are going to play the Broncos in a couple of weeks either way, do you really want to go out there and then show them your game plan?
Probably not.
I don't think that's very smart.
Speaker 2I see where Hey man, I I kind of lean in that way.
All right, let me just go no dumb questions.
Do you lose your team if you're Jim Harbaugh though, if you don't fight for this win, No, the team won't care.
Speaker 5No, you definitely don't lose your team.
Speaker 2They would get it, they'd understand for sure.
Speaker 4All right.
Speaker 2How about the opposite then.
Speaker 5And the starters would actually be grateful, would they really?
Yeah?
Speaker 2How many starters could you rest?
By the way, like, how you get away with it?
I mean you gotta play somebody.
Speaker 5Well, you can rest your stars, that's for sure, just the stars.
Speaker 2So who are the who are the stars on the Chargers?
Speaker 4Man?
Like?
Speaker 2Is Khalil Mack still a star?
I don't even know.
Speaker 5He's old, so he's in that category.
Allen, you're you're because he's old.
I'm probably sitting down justin Herbert.
Okay, so we've got four so far, right, yeah, four, probably sitting on Marion Hampton even though he's a rookie.
It's just too important.
Offensive line's got to play.
Although McKay beck that I thought was banged up, so maybe not.
Speaker 2So you sit him because he is kind of you know, you've had issues there.
Speaker 5Yeah, and then that's just on offense.
So that's like five guys right there.
Speaker 2Yeah, you can do it, right, you could uh Derwin James probably need him, maybe take he gets a day.
Speaker 5Off, definitely, right, Yeah, you can.
Speaker 2You can do it.
You can figure it out and everybody else goes it's probably and then you lose what you who's thirty to three or whatever?
You get killed, you know you're gonna get Even the Broncos would figure out how to destroy you.
They would come on.
I mean, you know Sean's gonna go balls to the wall on this.
He's going all out.
They're not.
They view this as a playoff game and the reward is a bye week.
It's like a playoff game with no negative consequences at the end.
The Broncos aren't resting anybody.
I think ideally for the Broncos, Scott, you do what the Patriots did.
You roll up a big number in the first half, and then everybody, you know, take your helmets off, boys, and we can just sort of cruise into the finish line.
Speaker 4Yeah, I think you know what.
Here's and Tyler maybe help me on this one.
Speaker 3If there is a viable chance that they were to rest guys for this game, before you make that final decision, do you not find toothcomb over every single play because you're probably gonna go to New England or you might get a chance to go to New England.
Do you go over every single game they play and say, hey, can we beat these guys full strength?
Where's our best chance to take care of this this week and come back here.
Speaker 5I don't think you worry about it, I really don't.
I think you just got to get your best squad out there as healthy as you possibly can.
Speaker 2Have you ever played in a game when the other team was just not quitting, but more or less laying down to protect themselves.
Have you ever played in a game like that?
Speaker 5Oh, I'm sure I have.
I don't know.
Nothing's popping up to the top of my head, but.
Speaker 2It's gotta be just a weird sort of deal.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 2By the way, Broncos going throwbacks final time this year with the old stuff, which was always the plan.
They were all you get to wear them three times.
Speaker 5I got no dub.
Question for Scott.
Scott, is one of the benefits of your two week road trip that you don't have to do any holiday decoration clean up?
Or are they going to be sitting there waiting for you?
Speaker 3Uh No, I was told that they did a bunch yesterday.
I guess last nice day or something.
Speaker 5Dude, I'm happy for you.
That's a nice little plus about being on the right.
Speaker 4Huh Hey, listen, that ain't my thing anyway.
Speaker 5Does the warning go as all out for Christmas so she does for Halloween?
Speaker 3Yes, although we won we won first place in the neighborhood for Halloween, we got second for Christmas.
Speaker 2Oh wow, that's pretty good.
Speaker 5Showing though, was that I mean accumulative though, I mean that's got to be accumulative.
Right.
Speaker 3The second second is the highest, uh, she's ever gotten for Christmas.
Listen, I can't park a car in the garage because it's stuff with decorations.
Speaker 2What who is the winner in your neighborhood?
Is this a approachable It was really good.
Speaker 4It was right down, It wasn't too far, about a half a mile away or so.
Speaker 2Did you know you were did you know you were beat from the from the jumper?
Speaker 3Well, we were told by the judges they had kids and adults.
Every single kid voted for us, but the adults all voted for the other house or the other.
Speaker 5Oh that means you guys had more blow ups, right, yeah, yeah we had.
If the kids liked it, you had the blow ups.
Speaker 2What did what did the adels appreciate more?
Speaker 4Oh?
Speaker 3I don't candy cane land, I don't know, I don't, I don't.
You know, lots of twinkly lights, I guess twinkly lights, twinkly lights and stuff like that.
Speaker 2So you had him on the blow ups, but you didn't have him on the twinkly lights.
Speaker 3We we had we had a giant snowman.
We had a frosty snowman.
We had a Sanda coming out of the house.
We had oh yeah, we had uh yeah, we probably had twelve blow ups.
Speaker 2Did you guys have you seen that show?
That documentary about the dude who's a lawyer and was having so many decorations.
He was having people from all over the town come and his.
Speaker 4Age people coming from around the country.
Speaker 2You know that story right?
Speaker 4Well, I read it because they ended up showing his h away.
Speaker 2Yes, it's it's I think it's on Netflix.
I believe it's a heck of a documentary, man, about what this guy has.
He calls himself the Christmas Lawyer, and he's made this a little cottage industry about suing ho ways around the country that's trying to stop people from having like Christmas celebrations.
His was unbelievable though he had guys.
He had tour buses.
Tour buses.
Keep tour buses.
Speaker 5What's a tour?
Speaker 2Oh boy?
He had buses bringing people.
Speaker 4Tour buses.
Speaker 2Thank you whatever Scott just said.
So you're making fun of me about saying something that I don't hear how I'm saying it wrong.
Speaker 5You don't know how you're saying it, rug.
Speaker 2No, he had buses.
He had buses come in with people.
Speaker 3Had he ran in a place offsite so that it wouldn't congest the neighborhood.
He was being considered the neighbors and then he brought buses, would pick these people up, drop them over, they could walk through all the displays and drop them back to their car.
Speaker 2Yeah, well he did have buses rolling through this neighborhood with people.
I mean, I don't know, man, I kind of I can kind of see it on both sides.
Like, you know, he was only running it for two hours a night for ten days, but there can you imagine just buses of people rolling through your neighborhood.
Speaker 5Is he paying for the buses?
Speaker 2Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 4He paid for everything.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, he paid for everything.
But like that might be a little rough to live next to.
Every single Christmas it was.
Speaker 4Like it was like seven or eight hundred thousand lights hold on.
Speaker 5But he hasn't found a way to monetize this.
No, I don't.
Speaker 2Think No, I don't.
I think it was just all in the spirit of the season and everything.
He just liked.
Speaker 3Dude, he did shut up donation boxes, but it wasn't for him.
They gave it all to a local charity.
Speaker 2Yeah, he was bringing in like camels and like living activity scenes and I mean it was something, but it's one of those really like what side of the coiner are you on?
Speaker 4I search?
Speaker 2I think the Christmas Lawyer.
I believe it's on Netflix.
It's a hell of a I mean he took it to an extreme, man.
I mean, there was like a big it's a hell of it.
It's a hell of a thing.
It's it's it was one of the more interesting documentaries I've ever watched.
But yeah, well look it up.
Busses s guy, busses of people, busses of people.
Speaker 4Well, what's what's the guy in Detroit?
Speaker 3They down that started dominoes.
We went and did the tour up at his place and that that was about the heck of a show I've ever seen.
You had whole lanes and cars.
I mean it was like literally it was like building they will come.
Speaker 2That just like a billionaire though, right, Like I mean, you know this is this guy just lives in a nice neighborhood.
But it's just like a neighborhood.
It's not even like a gated community or anything.
Anyways, we'll take a break, come back with a big question of the day coming up next
