Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_01]: Most people think you need this perfect credit score or a business degree or family money as far as money passed down to you from relatives to build real, real, well.

[SPEAKER_01]: What today's guest proves that that is a complete lie and we all know it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: His name is Early Walker.

[SPEAKER_01]: He started with an $8,000 truck washes that had no heat, no air conditioning, but he had a solid dream and a vision.

[SPEAKER_01]: 10 years later, today he's a millionaire who's transformed the entire community out of the second best city in the world, Chicago.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because we all know D&V is the best, technically three before Chicago, but hey, it is what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: But here's what makes his story so different, and this is why I asked him to come on to the show.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because he didn't just build wealth, he built a legacy, that's literally saving lives and changing generations.

[SPEAKER_01]: This man has received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

[SPEAKER_01]: They call him Chicago Secret Angel.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's delivered millions of gallons of clean water to communities and crisis.

[SPEAKER_01]: He solving murders through his anti-violence initiative.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he did it all, starting from a broken-down tow truck.

[SPEAKER_01]: Chicago's West Side, y'all.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is why he's on the show and you all know I don't have a lot of guests on the show anymore because I'm being very Consider it and I want to be a good steward over the platform that God has allowed me to have by the end of this conversation [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have the exact blueprint early used to go from broke to millionaire status, plus the mindset shifts that separates wealth builders from just wealth dreamers.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying it again.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a difference between someone who's actually building wealth and someone who just dreams about wealth.

[SPEAKER_01]: You see, early walker is the man.

[SPEAKER_01]: He flew in from Chicago to date.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a quick conversation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I need y'all to get you no past, get your pins, get your paper, share this show.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a real conversation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Currently, man, welcome to the show, bro.

[SPEAKER_00]: First and foremost, my who-do-out tip for that wonderful interesting man.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ain't got the tip, that's what you said that, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you for coming, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: When your publicist reached out to me and shared a story on a good friend's with her, she knows I don't have a whole bunch of guests on my show anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when she reached out to me, man, I had to do some really research and really do some praying.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I love how you're not just teaching wealth.

[SPEAKER_01]: you are impacting a society, a community.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll specifically within the Black community.

[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I just love that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get straight to it because people who are following me and watch this show.

[SPEAKER_01]: These are individuals who want to, who want a serious change.

[SPEAKER_01]: And early, I want to go back to the moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: You purchased that $8,000 truck.

[SPEAKER_01]: That had no heat, no AC, but you had a dream.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was going through your head at that moment?

[SPEAKER_01]: And why that?

[SPEAKER_01]: Why did you do a $8,000 truck?

[SPEAKER_01]: Rather than just going out there and financing a big boy truck that had everything perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why did you make that decision?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we got to start from the beginning, so first and foremost, I was work of a notifying.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's work with wooded education in Chicago at the security guard.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: And at that particular time, my first boom was on the way.

[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was one of those things where it was like, [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't want a ceiling for her or myself, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was a cap.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I knew what I was going to make in that weather.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was five years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years.

[SPEAKER_00]: I knew what I was going to make, all right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to more for her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so that was really my biggest nut of deciding that I want to more.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I just had to walk off, you know, my job.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this was against everybody's wishes.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, my family was telling me, what are you doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: You're crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the people at my job.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like, what are you doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: You're crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was not, no, yes, I was, I'm sorry, I was, I was first marriage, yes, first marriage, I was married at the time and you know, it was just one of those things where I was like, I want to more for my family, you know, I got a baby on the way, I'm like, what am I doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, and so...

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at that, well, that's a job.

[SPEAKER_00]: I guess everybody's switched, everybody was like, no, early, you're crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I went thinking I was going to start a total of comfort company, pull up my pension money down, and I had been working there that long.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe two, three, four years.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you know, I mean, my pension was a much, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: My pension was a total of $10,000.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that had to run there.

[UNKNOWN]: $10,000.

[SPEAKER_00]: So...

[SPEAKER_00]: That was first, that was my first, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so now it's like, well, what do I do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Walk off my job, can't go back, not working.

[SPEAKER_00]: I still care why I find a truck truck's can't be that much.

[SPEAKER_00]: And my mind, you know, I'm thinking of tow truck calls and my mind, 2500 or 5000 dollars, you know, like a car, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I was wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, to get a decent truck at that time, you talk to 60, 70, it's $1,000, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So I started looking all like, I actually people ask them a few of my friends, hey, what can I get a truck from?

[SPEAKER_00]: They like, why don't you get, I got 10 grand.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't want to spend a whole 10 grand because you know, this is my savings, this is it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So literally, [SPEAKER_00]: Went looking, found the used, raggedy, San Francisco, and looking truck.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the guy was like, I won $955 for $95.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know, okay, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, well, look, what can we do?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I got $755 cash.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's a give me age you got to deal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Both the truck.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is literally me having no experience in time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Never told a car in my life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Never, I mean, this is all faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is literally all faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: And me basically teaching myself as I went.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got to ask you this question, okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about the truck and this is great.

[SPEAKER_01]: But why totally?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like what made you look into the talk industry?

[SPEAKER_00]: I had a couple of friends, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: That, that's another story that ended up not becoming friends, future hits, because, you know, as you start growing a life, you start losing friends, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: But, that's another story.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, um, I had a friend of mine that was doing a very well.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I never forget that accent.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, let me ask you something.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, if I was to quit my job, you think I could make $100 a day.

[SPEAKER_00]: He looked at me and he laughed.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: And in my mind, I was like, okay, and then it'll sound like a lot of money, but in my mind, I was nervous about leaving my job.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I just needed some tapping for sure that as long as I could make a hundred dollars a day.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would be okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I told myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I've been going to a hundred dollars a day.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thirty-two hundred a month.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's thirty-one hundred a month.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, thirty-one day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, that was in my mind, like, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can at least do something with that, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: He laughed at me since, man, you can make that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, okay, so it was me watching him and money he was making in the movement.

[SPEAKER_00]: And at that time, he was like, junk in the car, it's picking the cars up.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you got an old car, junk in the car, stuff like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was like his business, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I was just like, well, if I could make $100 a day, I'll make it work.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was just my mindset.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: Bought the truck, taught myself how to tow, started finding out people who I thought were my friends didn't want to really show me.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was one of those things where it was like, they told me that it was going to be that for me, but you know how that goes.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, when you start doing what they're doing, you know, that's like, all right, well.

[SPEAKER_00]: when you're a friend of mine.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I ended up, I mean, a large portion of me ended up learning on my own.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it was kind of a reality setting.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm talking about, you know, if you watching this, I probably messed up your bumpers before I didn't probably damage you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, in the beginning, I was ripping bumpers off.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was, you know, because I was, I was learning on the job, you know, and so one of the things that, you know, coming up to our two going back to the truck.

[SPEAKER_00]: So at that time, I only had two thousand miles left to my neck, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even fact the end that you needed insurance.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's starting to tone up company.

[SPEAKER_00]: I started both of the tow truck.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is all you gotta get an insurance.

[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta get to deal to your favorite.

[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta get your MC number.

[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta, so I'm like, how much that could have been?

[SPEAKER_00]: So all that stuff was money as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I ended up probably maybe $500 in my pocket and it's all truck, you know, and a drink, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had to figure it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I instantly hit the ground running.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things I did learn early on is that always market yourself bigger than what [SPEAKER_00]: And so, I did a very good job of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, basically, the last 500 hours I had, I invested half of that into an automated phone system, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, like those phone systems when you call, thank you for calling.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you know you're part of the sentient, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I ended up buying one of those systems.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, when you would call my tow truck company, it gave you the illusion that you were calling this big company.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right, right, right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you was really caught in for a San Francisco.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, that got me in the door, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's one of the biggest things is that you got to figure out a way to get in the door.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it was a combination of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then at that time, Google asked this was very big.

[SPEAKER_00]: So those two things is what really got me going.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, because when you would call, [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it would be one of those things where you would think you called this big toe truck company and then my prices would load.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like one of the things I started off when I first started talking, I did $50 of a house.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I was talking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: $50 of a house.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what is that then?

[SPEAKER_00]: So we fit it out of local toe.

[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, it was one of those things where, if you would see the ad, you'll see $50 of a toe, that's gonna make you call.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you call, if you're within a five mile radius, you're told with $50.

[UNKNOWN]: $50.

$50.

[SPEAKER_00]: But those people that I was at it up, I mean, and so I did that as a marketing, you know, I took that as a marketing position, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So that basically, you know, when you call, I would beat everybody else out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you gotta remember, I mean, one of the things that I was telling people is you have to figure out what makes you different, what makes you unique for everybody else in the industry, you know, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I had to stand out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody was charging $50 for it, so, you know, it's off, I decided to play the numbers game.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, okay, well, if I could do 10 of these a day, [SPEAKER_00]: Do you pass your way past your hood?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm way past my hundred dollars.

[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on, family?

[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, I just saved over $400 of my current insurance and literally 10 minutes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Most of us are overpaying because we're so loyal to companies that ain't loyal to our wallets.

[SPEAKER_01]: Recently, I partnered with a trusted broker to help my family use, stop throwing money away by just simply entering your zip code, answering some few questions and boom, you have real quotes within real companies within a matter of 60 seconds.

[SPEAKER_01]: No credit checks, none of that's spam call.

[SPEAKER_01]: Look, you work hard for your money.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why I give more of it away than you have to?

[SPEAKER_01]: I personally use this company back when I was going to my search and input money back in my pocket.

[SPEAKER_01]: All you have to do is go to anthonylo.com for slash car insurance right now, as anthonylo.com for slash car insurance stop over pain, start keeping your money so you can pay off debt and start investing and building your number one asset which is your wealth.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, listen, go to anthonylo.com for slash car insurance and get that quote today.

[SPEAKER_01]: Peace out.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what did you average a day?

[SPEAKER_00]: So, when it was all said and done, I had a list of toes.

[SPEAKER_00]: List.

[SPEAKER_00]: Notebooks, list of toes, because what happened was what I found out is that people were willing to wait, to save.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they didn't care.

[SPEAKER_00]: They would tell me, listen, as long as they could get that before the end of the week.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, I literally started journalist, started having notes of people.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm so my little lady, it was crazy that people were shocked, because, I mean, it don't get me wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had certain people that I pulled up on and they asked me my truck to say, [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but for the most part, as long as I was able to get they card every safely to a shop or whatever the case is, they were fine, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So I was able to, you know, get that going for a while, save up, you know, my coins and my dollars.

[SPEAKER_00]: So then I went from my old 1980s truck to a 2003, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So now you know, I was big dog going to black now.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can tell me nothing, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So Nelson and I started knocking on mechanic shop doors and kind of going after other things.

[SPEAKER_00]: At this time, I was like, okay, I've mastered that my mind, this part of it, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, what's my niche?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what do I, what do I find my own lane?

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to my own lane because in business as you know, you have to find your own lane.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it goes back to what I said before, you got to figure out what makes you different what makes you stand out.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, pond doing my investigations, and pond doing my observations.

[SPEAKER_00]: I found out there were not a lot of black-owned toy companies that were doing with this sub-torn.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, I said, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had a heck of my going to get these politicians to give me these contracts because it's not a minority-based industry, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So what is that kind of towing?

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's when you're torn for like your cities, that's when you're torn for your police departments, that's when you're going, that's when those people just pulling up to when you're caught when you're getting to do you out when you're getting to cockroach, you know those are contracts.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, wasn't anybody torn companies doing that?

[SPEAKER_00]: word and I didn't even know it was a thing honestly what what what what but half of us I thought they just called regular toe and company see who's available that they know that's exactly what and that's exactly what I thought when I first initially you know looked into it but I started to say you know I started seeing these touchers pull up you know when the police started let me look into that so I thought I acted a few people I knew there were politicians and they were like hey [SPEAKER_00]: you know, it's a contract.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, how do I go about getting a contract?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, or number one, you gotta have more than one.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, then they were like, number two, you need a yard.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, then number three, you have to bid on it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, now I'm like, okay, I got stuck in my game, but one thing I've always been good at is whatever I say I wanted to do, or wherever I put my mind at.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've always succeeded at it, and I know that's got, and I'm kind of jumping the gun as well because I do want to give credit to the fact that, you know, you said this in your intro, and I have to, you know, I'll be remiss if I don't mention this, you know, one of the biggest reasons I've been so successful is because I am a giver, and a lot of people don't understand it.

[SPEAKER_00]: All my life people have said, do you give it all your stuff away?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're giving all your money away.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that won't rag any touch, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna tell you this story because I'm told this story before, because this is what started and shifted my business.

[SPEAKER_00]: I never forget.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was Christmas, 2013.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is when I just got my truck and just walked off my job.

[SPEAKER_00]: I never forget it was one of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worst winters we had ever had in Chicago.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was on my way home to my family.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hadn't even bought Christmas gifts for my family.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was a young lady that was broke down on the side of the road.

[SPEAKER_00]: Poor dog on the side of the road, my touchbook.

[SPEAKER_00]: I get out.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's in the car with her kids.

[SPEAKER_00]: Say, man, be okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: She says, yeah, I'm okay, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, you need help.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any money for it, though.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, tell you why, where you going?

[SPEAKER_00]: She's going right around the corner.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pick the car up, I'll tell you what, get in the car with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you I'll be open for free.

[SPEAKER_00]: She says thank you so it's just literally days before Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: Kids getting the car, I told them home, help our out, help them get in the house.

[SPEAKER_00]: I noticed that there's no Christmas tree in the living room.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, man, you guys don't celebrate Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: She says, son, I don't have money for Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have money for Christmas tree.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have money for Christmas gifts.

[SPEAKER_00]: She said, listen, I'm struggling.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: And literally, the money I was going to spend for my own family, I left her, went to Walmart, bought a Christmas tree for the kids, and I picked up a few gifts.

[SPEAKER_00]: I went back, knocked on the door, and I said Merry Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the look on those kids' face is really what told me at that moment, this is your mission, this is your college.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is bigger than a total truck company.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is bigger than Jess.

[SPEAKER_00]: a total truck.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is a ministry.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is a mission.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I've provided myself on, you know, since 2013, is that every year I'm doing givebacks.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm tomorrow, I've always told guys that guys, you bless me and you give me whatever you give me, I'm going to make sure I give it back to info.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: You know, people tie the church, well, this is a form of tie in this world.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm giving it back to my community and I always say I feel like it's every business on the responsibility to give back to the community that allows you to be in business.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of business owners don't see that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a ministry and then when I say, I have won it for nothing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've lived in the best of houses.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've driven whatever type of cars you could think about.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's all been me doing this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me doing this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's something I want to make sure, you know, I'm pinpoint because I think that a lot of people don't understand that is that you have to give.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can't keep doing it.

[SPEAKER_00]: People do this all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: What if you're doing this?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: How do you do this?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's earlier you talking about language, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was.

[SPEAKER_01]: This funny, we share a similar story from the winter time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I remember what a time my car got stuck about maybe two blocks on the house and I had to walk home in a snow living in Nashville.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was living in Nashville, Tennessee, you know, Nashville.

[SPEAKER_01]: We don't really get snowed.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say, it's snowing in Nashville.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's so, it's like when it snows in Nashville, we shut down and I had to walk home in a snowed.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thankfully, [SPEAKER_01]: I lived in other cities that had snow.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I know how to maneuver around and snow a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it was cold out, I'd walk on my, I probably fell in my rear in a couple of times, and you know, but man on this one particular day, I thought I'd order a door dash, because I was like, man, I'm hungry.

[SPEAKER_01]: And a door dash just to like their delivering.

[SPEAKER_01]: So order a door dash.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I noticed that, [SPEAKER_01]: Some said, just look at your door dash and see how far they are.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it said a lady's name, and she's driving a bike, oh, she's not in a car or in a truck.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's driving a scooter in the snow, wow, and so when I saw that, I said, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, nah, keep my food man, go home.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's, it's no one outside.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yo, go, go home.

[SPEAKER_01]: I, I texted at, and she said, oh no, I delivered my food.

[SPEAKER_01]: I may take a little bit of time, but I'm, I'm a delivered my, my responsibility.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said, nah, I ain't that hungry.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said, I got, I got some peanut butter on the inside.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give me peanut butter jelly that I was get home to your family right home.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she recognized my name.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so she hit me up on Instagram because I canceled the order and she's like, hey, I can still come.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's sitting me on Instagram.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, I ain't trying to be rude, but I recognize the name and I said, I said, no, going, go home.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said to me, I asked you a question, why are you working on?

[SPEAKER_01]: She said, if I don't work, kids don't need.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she said that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I made a deliver your food today, but I got deliver, something else is food.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I called my boys and I said, I text them on the screen shut at the DM, I said, hey, I need y'all to do me a favor.

[SPEAKER_01]: Christmas time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said, I want to send this a money.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said, y'all should cash out me some money.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to say my guy's names, but they watch my show.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I appreciate y'all for that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We raised $10,000 for her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I asked for a cash out.

[SPEAKER_01]: We sent her a cash out for $10,000.

[SPEAKER_01]: She cried.

[SPEAKER_01]: At the time, I was working for Ramsey, and she came up to the Ramsey building, her and her boyfriend, just to give me a hug and say thank you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the greatest part was, when she said thank you, she said, hey, could you sit down with this and teach us how to butt you?

[SPEAKER_01]: because we want to make sure that we use this 10,000 ones correctly.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she became, I would say, a student of mine.

[SPEAKER_01]: And today, she earned her fiance now, or doing very, very well.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I just relate with what you said.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if...

[SPEAKER_01]: if God bless us, he doesn't solely bless us for us.

[SPEAKER_01]: He bless us to see, I believe, sometimes to test us to see if we were steward that well, because all the resources that we have, [SPEAKER_01]: It's not mine.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's his.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even after we do give our time, the other 90% is still his.

[SPEAKER_01]: He just calls us to store it that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that's why you've been blessed.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've been blessed is because even with the other 90, I still still figure out.

[SPEAKER_01]: How to be a blessing and even to my friends and I have friends who are going through things right now and hell I'm going to do things myself, but I'm like you God still told me to so a seed into this particular friend and to that particular friend even though I can use all that money from my own stuff I got going on [SPEAKER_01]: But one thing I believe is that when you so went to cook ground, God has to then return it to you, tenfold.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, and sometimes it doesn't come back with money per se, it can come back with an open door, with an open, a new relationship.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, I, I believe you're here and we're sharing your story because it is sees that you've sewn.

[SPEAKER_01]: And God said, yo, I'm going to connect you now with Anthony to better get your message out there, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: For, uh, because it's, it's so dope.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was doing some research, correct me if I'm wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're a pre-just kid.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am a peacock.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am a peacock.

[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, what's funny about that is that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a large portion of what my giving heart comes from.

[SPEAKER_00]: My dad used to always every Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: before we would have changed any gift.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were actually not even allowed to change in some Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: We would go to the South bedroom, we would feed the needy, we would take us to the jail and actually look at people who are incarcerated who couldn't spend Christmas with their families.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a dad put that in us at a early age and look, listen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Send about those gifts.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is, this is Jesus' birthday and we're going, this is what we're going to do and, you know, forget those gifts.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, and he put that in.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the point.

[SPEAKER_00]: So much to where gifts didn't mean anything to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was about giving back.

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I am a PK.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know how that goes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not getting, I'm a, I'm a two times PK.

[SPEAKER_01]: My father and stepfather are our preachers and passes.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I get it, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your money is sitting in a regular savings, making pennies while inflation is eating lunch.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_01]: That emergency fund that vacation money you've been stashing away It should be working for you, not just sitting there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: interest rates change every single month and most people have no clue if missing out on some serious money.

[SPEAKER_01]: So did you ever get the contract with the city?

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, so speeding up, I went out, found the little small yard where I could deal that with a guy, okay, ended up getting a little small contract, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, [SPEAKER_00]: After that, I said, okay, one more, I won't be here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I said, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: God, hopefully, you know, show me a bigger yard because the contracts I wanted were the real money.

[SPEAKER_00]: You needed acres.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you could just have like a little small amount of pie.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I never forget true story.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was driving by, and it was a huge yard by 10 acres.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, it had a sign that it just came up for at least.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what's funny is true story.

[SPEAKER_00]: I myself didn't know how I was going to get there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just said, this is going to be my next chart.

[SPEAKER_00]: Call it on my sister's head, how you doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's a call about the yard, you know, I want to get to my fashion, how much is it?

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, well, you're looking at probably about 15 grand a month.

[SPEAKER_00]: 15, and I'm like, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm interested.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gas says, okay, when you want to take a look at it, so when he pulls up, he sees me, he sees my truck, he's, what do you do?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, got a ton of companies, it's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is how many trucks you got?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, just one, he's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, you make it in this type of money.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what are you gonna do with us?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I said, I don't have any contracts for this yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, but I need the yard in order to get the contracts.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I never forget he was like, [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, he says, can you afford this?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I'll figure it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I tell you what, can you give me a portion of this jar in the office space to start?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, and I'll figure out how to come up with the rest of the money.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, well, I'm not doing that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, okay, well, I'll tell you what.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, can you go down on the price?

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, how much you guys?

[SPEAKER_00]: I got 5,000 dollars to give you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't have $5,000, but I was just like, I said, but I said, I can give you two three months of front, you know, to make it make sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now true story, never forget the guy's name is John.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you watch John's story, he laughed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know for a fact, John looked at me like, I'm gonna take this kid money.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that was one of those, like, he said, sure, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, he says, give me $20,000 of front.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said $5,000 of some up.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know for a fact in his mind, he did not think I was going to come up with the money.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if I did come up with the money, figure two, three months he would be a victim.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I need you to sign a clause in here that says, if you're behind or late 30 days, I can even even know, you know, laws, but still.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, OK, no problem.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I'll do that if you give me a 10 year plus 10 year lease.

[SPEAKER_00]: 10 year lease?

[SPEAKER_00]: 10 year plus 10.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, so you want 20 years?

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, deal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why did you ask for 20 years?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because what I didn't want him to do was go up on the price.

[SPEAKER_00]: So now I'm like, okay, if you're gonna lock me in at $5,000, I'm gonna lock you into where I can't go to work for 20 years.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you, so you got him for 20 years for $5,000 a month.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you, oh, shoot.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got me upset about building it so he laughed and I know it's my he was thinking like so I literally went out I stopped scrambling I was doing them pick it up told that for right I was you know, I'm I'm on social media telling people hey come rest on space for me I mean I got me to my you know, this is a nice this is a nice size Yard like football field so I'm literally figuring it all out man It was funny as a true story [SPEAKER_00]: And this is, I know guy works in mysterious ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: I went after a huge contract that ended up actually becoming my largest contract with a city that I wanted.

[SPEAKER_00]: Had never submitted a real proposal, had never submitted a real art fee.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even know how to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: One tool I followed was a friend of mine.

[SPEAKER_00]: And at that time, he had to, one of the largest back on to one company's.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this is why I was saying, you find out people who you think are your friends are not your friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: Once they have to worry about it, they can mean, I mean, yeah, you got to put with people in the industry, thought, man, what like brothers or cousins, that's what, you know, that's my cousin, that's my brother.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, hey, man, I need some help with this contract, man, I said, you know, I'm gonna put in for a bit, I said, but, you know, I don't know the numbers, I don't know what pricing I should be putting, I was like, can't you help me?

[SPEAKER_00]: You said, sure, I don't need to do the whole thing, but I'll send it to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a lot of things.

[SPEAKER_00]: The day of RFP biz, what they opened the biz, we go in, I submit, they get the read-and-all with the companies.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me why one of the companies didn't have a subscriber.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what he didn't do is he didn't sat here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, yours isn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: And played it, my prices, so he could come in.

[SPEAKER_00]: But to tell you, I got work.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every RFP dial I've ever submitted, I always put on the tab that will be done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Any RFP I've ever sent it to any, because I say, if God, if it's below wheel, for me to have this contract, it's so big.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I just got this jar, I took a step on faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, my girlfriend at that time was like, what are you doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why would you get this jar?

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what do you, you know, she was even questioning me like, you know, like, [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, this is too much, but I might listen.

[SPEAKER_00]: I see Digger, and so true story, I can't you not, even in the midst of him inflating my prices, they ended up still growing with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: They said, we're right to go with a small fry who's trying to grow then to go with the person who already has to figure it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I started from scratch.

[SPEAKER_00]: He bought his company and they were like, we want to sell him to you, man.

[SPEAKER_00]: So after that, it was it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was on the pop and I went from that contract and the other contracts started popping up on me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Before you know it, I went from one truck to truck pre-trucks.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had my prime, you know, before I exit, I had 22 trucks.

[SPEAKER_00]: 22 at the largest back home, toy company in the state of Illinois.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that company, you know, ended up, you know, garnishing me serving it for blessed every year.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm giving back, I'm giving back, I had a TV show.

[SPEAKER_00]: I actually had a TV show on Annie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hustle and toe, I mean, they reached out to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's funny is, when they reached out to me, I said, how did you guys find out about me?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, you're for an interview.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, when I say, you know, the Bible says, you know, you're good for making a room for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got a prime example of a kid from the west out of Chicago growing up on government cheese, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the cornerstone next door, going to being able to literally watch myself elevate and it's all because of my gathering.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, that's good.

[SPEAKER_01]: On the last segment of the show, because we got like six minutes before we had to shut it down and hit this time, amazing story and amazing testimony.

[SPEAKER_01]: People who are watching this right now, who are saying, no, hey, I'm not going to get into the towing business, but.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to start a business, but they're like you.

[SPEAKER_01]: They may not only got $1,000, I only got $5,000.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm working a job.

[SPEAKER_01]: What are three main things you would tell them they need to do to position themselves to be like you to one day get to their prime, running the business of their dreams?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't say it just starter, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the biggest, that's the biggest and the hardest part of anything is starting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that was my biggest fear was walking off.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like I told you before, I mean, I ended up growing this business to where, you know, private equity ended up not gonna my doing one to buy me out.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, now I'm a senior executive, you know, you know, but it all started with me that that scared young man at Morgan Park High School saying, I don't want this, I want more from my family.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's the biggest thing is that, you know, Steve Orick says you got a job.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so if I were to say words with advice, it would be a job.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got a job.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when you, when that feeling hurts, so much in your stomach and you want to throw up and you feel sick, that's when you know that's what I need to be doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, what's the number two?

[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, I would say, don't give up.

[SPEAKER_00]: The role is not going to be easy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would say, don't think that the biggest, your biggest supporters are gonna be your friends and family, because at the end of the day, it's not your biggest supporters are gonna be strangers.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's facts, that it's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your biggest supporters are gonna be strangers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, when I, you know, got the phone call that, you know, probably equity comes when they buy me out, that was the total stranger.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's crazy is I try to merge and partner with people that I thought where my friends and nobody wanted to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: A total stranger, largest tone company, and the nation reached out to me and said, hey, we want you on our team.

[SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, I'm calling my friends, they watch me, they see what I'm doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: They see the traction, they see the motion.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, why do you think that this case with a lot of our friends?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what do you think, would you say those are real friends?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think it's.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're friends until they feel like you're doing better than them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like that's a huge issue in our community.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have a lot of gay keepers.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, a lot of times, I will call people and ask people for advice and they wouldn't give me advice and they knew to ask her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I told you what happened with me, what did we go with the contract?

[SPEAKER_00]: He knew to ask her, but he wanted to contract for himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's all right, you can't have this contract.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, that's too big for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and here's my thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a problem with my friend wondering the same culture.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just tell me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just tell me.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly what I told him.

[SPEAKER_00]: I called him in that room.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even tell the whole story.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I know we run out of time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I called him in that room.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, you could just tell me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just tell me, bro.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we can go ahead and together.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can just tell me.

[SPEAKER_00]: They said, you ain't got her back.

[SPEAKER_00]: One thing about me is we'll spend this for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what people you have to understand what's for me is for me and what I will say last number three is make sure you act yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: What am I doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's standing out from what everybody else is doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: because I think that a lot of people in business don't understand that there are a million hamburger places.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are a million taco places.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are a million grocery stores, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: What makes me different?

[SPEAKER_00]: What makes me stand down?

[SPEAKER_00]: When you're thinking about marketing, you're thinking about branding.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to act yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: What makes my brand different from everybody else?

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you don't have an answer that you're failing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so that would be my top three.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, that was...

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my company, we have not launched a financial literacy course or anything similar to that within the five years of us being the existence of me being alone.

[SPEAKER_01]: The reason being is because there's so many financial gurus out there that have these courses for $1,000,000, $5,000.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, what's going to make me different?

[SPEAKER_01]: I saw I really stepped back and I was like, just don't research with my team and seeing what's missing in the [SPEAKER_01]: And we're coming out with something here late November.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm called the skate plan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm not.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to teach people how to escape the red and get into the black, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's not going to be a course.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can't say what it's going to be, just yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's going to be great.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to pull one of your plays.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be the cheapest people in the market.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think no one is going to see this coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: Get how we're coming with it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because I want to make sure that we're giving value that we're still, we're filling a void that is needed because in 2025, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: people are struggling and people need answers.

[SPEAKER_01]: People need information that doesn't break their banks.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is going to be our way of giving back because we could charge a whole lot for what we're about to release.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I told my team and I want to be impactful and I want to reach the average person in America.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to be like you build a legacy and impact my community, my city and a million to who do follow us and so But I've also lost friends because of my stance on something sorry for why you charging two grand for that [SPEAKER_00]: 80% of it is fluff and half of it is financial gurus and I didn't find that to gurus, you know, when you start looking and digging and looking at something you'd be scratching your head because it's fluff and it's time for me that's why I said man that's why I'm in that school because I wanted to make sure that I'm getting the credentials and the education to make sure that [SPEAKER_01]: And when people put me in that financial expert lane, I did the proper education to get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not just practice it, but I practice it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I teach it and I have the education.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, before I release anything, I want to go back and get the education, make sure I'm launching it lively, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: Man, early, I want to say thank you, man, for coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: Love what you're doing in Chicago.

[SPEAKER_01]: We got to have you back on the show to do a little bit more teaching.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to link all of Verli's information inside of today's show notes.

[SPEAKER_01]: His website, his social media information.

[SPEAKER_01]: the man is a financial genius and so I would definitely encourage you to check him out and learn from him as well and it's going to be an amazing and amazing experience and so man thank you for flying in real quickly to sit down and to bless [SPEAKER_01]: Our community, our family, and y'all, if you enjoyed today's show, please make sure that you will all subscribe to his channels and to his information.
