Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everybody.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, happy December.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is our last Patreon bonus episode of the year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: What a year, I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you all so much for being here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate all of you so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're a lovely community.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we wanted to chat about one of our favorite couples today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Richard and Emily, we love them, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're made for each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I think that's why I love them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we're going to talk about their undoing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, if they were my parents, I don't think I would love them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, they're nice to watch from afar.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so without we'd get into where everything goes wrong for them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we want to take a look at all little small moments that lead up to Emily leaving Richard.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think it's so surprising for us as an audience like the first time I watched it, you know, and now that we've watched it a million times, you can see all those signs, yeah, you can see the blueprint of it happening slowly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're not really paying attention, then you could miss it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't kind of surprised as a first-time viewer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I wish I could remember what it was like to see that the first time I cannot, like how I felt when that happened, but it's so true.

[SPEAKER_01]: Every time that we prepare for something like this, it's like really detailed, you know, in a small moment where we're just talking about like one character or two characters, [SPEAKER_01]: And in that preparation, you know, I'll watch these particular scenes.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just watching those characters.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of ignoring, say, like, loralize babbling or whatever's going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it can feel so intense and so much more intense than when you just watch it for fun or have it on.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a different experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is when you just zero in on their scenes and nothing else.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, okay, yeah, hit me over the head with this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I see it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right, because I even wrote down a few of like exact quotes that Richard says and I'm like, Oh, rude, you know, it's like, Yeah, so I'm like, wow, okay, but then like as the Paladino zoo, they always throw in a joke and then we've moved on and [SPEAKER_01]: We're in the next scene, even within the same scene, there's so many jokes that you just don't realize Like how we're talking about which beetles have I guess you're like, oh, I even I forgot what was just happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, but Jackie brought receipts today.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did do it Richard watch out [SPEAKER_00]: So let's I want to like go all in here and ask you a big question.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we're not going to put her around.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is like the one word or freeze that sticks out to you when you think about Emily and Richard crumbling.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, leading into their separation.
