Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to a special holiday edition of Levenzi's are usually subscriber exclusive episode where we go through a movie voted on by the community every month and for Christmas and we do this for spoketober.

[SPEAKER_01]: We are doing a public episode as well as a subscriber episode with me today.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's Holly and Jolly.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's David.

[SPEAKER_01]: borderline borderline.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's borderline.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not medical.

[SPEAKER_01]: No.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she's not on the naughty list thankfully because Sant is going to have to whip her ass if so.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's Alicia.

[SPEAKER_02]: Glad to keep my head hole.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or not.

[SPEAKER_01]: And no holes in your head.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's very spoilers.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I don't know if it's really possible to spoil this movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not really plot driven movie, so I'm just going to say spoiler spoilers for the whole podcast.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's not there's no twist in this movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to like ruin it if you know it.

[SPEAKER_02]: At the end is a little for anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is it, I guess, I guess there's a little bit of it, but I thought it was a fairly obvious twist, too.

[SPEAKER_04]: As long as you believe, everything will be okay in the end.

[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen the twist?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure David and I are going to physically fight over this movie today.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's, I was saving it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's good content for the pod because the Christmas magic, you know, it worked on me a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is a pod, so you don't have to save it out.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Christmas magic, a comparison with diehard?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, that's helped.

[SPEAKER_04]: Somehow, that helped.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, clearly this movie, I heard I've heard of it before violent night, by the way, we're talking about 2022.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we managed to mention the title, yeah, it's a movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's quite the outline I've made here.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a cross between diehard, home alone, and John Wick.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard it as described as.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like that's a fair assessment.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that's a...

And the Santa Claus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Santa Claus, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And like, maybe Norse mythology, who knows.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we don't know what's going on there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this is our public episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was voted on by the fans.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the fans also voted for Die Hard versus Die Hard, too, is our subscriber episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: David, you want to take us through the voting results since you're our pollster, resident, [SPEAKER_04]: Resident pollster, I guess.

[SPEAKER_04]: Don't ask me to predict anything else.

[SPEAKER_01]: How is it going to turn out in 2028?

[SPEAKER_04]: To run the polls, I don't predict them.

[SPEAKER_04]: Looks like we had a total of 38 votes, which is a high water mark.

[SPEAKER_04]: That is a high engagement level.

[SPEAKER_04]: Violent night got 19 votes, so 50% of the votes.

[SPEAKER_04]: A Christmas story got eight.

[SPEAKER_04]: And crampus got six.

[SPEAKER_04]: and the Santa Claus got five.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess is that eight plus six plus five?

[SPEAKER_04]: 19, yeah, so half at least exactly half.

[SPEAKER_04]: of the voters, not want violent nights.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_04]: There was like some grumbling because of the die hard as a Christmas thing, and you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: I kind of was like, I was like, oh, yeah, die hard Christmas wing, you know, that whole, you know, beating chest and hair on fire, you know, silliness about die hard is a Christmas movie or not.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, yeah, it is kind of over isn't it?

[SPEAKER_04]: Like, we can just put that one aside.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the people have spoken a plurality, at least, of the people have spoken.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we are doing an action-packed Christmas this year.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then we might recycle these for future years, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: These aren't necessarily going to go away.

[SPEAKER_02]: These are the ones that didn't win.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's going to be an ongoing list.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a lot of fun going forward.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, like it.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, if you want to do an action move, if you want to do an actual next year, I still haven't seen that red one one that people talk about on Netflix.

[SPEAKER_04]: Which one?

[SPEAKER_02]: The, what's it?

[SPEAKER_02]: Red one, the one with the, join the Rock Johnson, I think?

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, do not, I do not know.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I've never heard of this.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it was, it's, it was a brand new one.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think last year there was really popular.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, shows you how much I'm paying attention.

[SPEAKER_04]: It definitely looks like an action-packed thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just from the poster art.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, maybe they will get to included.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this movie, Violet Knight, of course, starring David Harber in 2022 was like a pretty big hit actually.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this had a budget of 20 million and made 76.6 million at the box office.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.

[SPEAKER_01]: It has very good critic scores and very good.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it has 73% on run tomatoes.

[SPEAKER_01]: 6.5 out of 10 rating.

[SPEAKER_01]: So pretty good critics scores and did really well on run tomatoes on [SPEAKER_01]: audience score.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think people are big fans of this movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, to me, it's just like a very turn your brain off Christmas fun adventure.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's how you have to approach it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's how you have to approach most Christmas movies to be honest.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll say that on Letterbox, which is film Snob Central, hello, resident there.

[SPEAKER_02]: It has a three point out, which is like a very average score.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's like people are like, yeah, I like it.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's not one of the greats, but I like it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, shnabby over there.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is not a snabby movie.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, that's what I'm saying for.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, correctly.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like certain action movies like heads, which you know, I don't love.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think it has like above a force.

[SPEAKER_04]: Is heads at Christmas?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, never mind.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, never mind.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we're moving on.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're moving on.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're moving on.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, we're moving on.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, we're moving on.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, we're moving on.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, we're moving on.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let me find it Santa is drunk and sick of our shit, this Christmas Eve.

[SPEAKER_02]: When he gets stuck in a house of rich assholes, getting robbed, he takes matters into his own hands and saves the only kid on the nice list he can find.

[SPEAKER_02]: Trudy for the wind.

[SPEAKER_01]: Trudy.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot going on here.

[SPEAKER_01]: At least, you know what?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm really eager to hear David's hot takes right now because David sent me an incendiary message about this movie like a month ago.

[SPEAKER_01]: I even, I even went on letterboxed and posted by the role.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I read, I read your review.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's, he's trying to open the door back to the nice list.

[SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, uh, uh, a trudy and in Santa, you know, their little relationship point.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, me.

[SPEAKER_04]: Actually, it didn't.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's on my nonetheless.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: What is on my nice list, though, is I watched it that first time.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it was two, it was not enough John Wick and too much Christmas magic for me.

[SPEAKER_04]: And, yeah, like this movie can't have enough violence in it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's extremely violent.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then, as we were approaching this recording, I was like, okay, so I read a little bit more of the production history for it, you know, how it got made and that kind of stuff, and I was like, oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I finished my watch of Die Hard, the first Die Hard would be.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then I watched this movie again, because I had watched it Violet Knight so long ago that I actually didn't remember.

[SPEAKER_04]: So when you were asking us, well, you know, our questions that we have for the outline, I was like, oh shit, I don't remember the movie at all.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I had to go back and, and, and, and rudgingly watch it at like 1.5 speed.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then I slowed it down and actually kind of, I kind of enjoyed it the second time.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, I got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I understand, you know, I got the vibe.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the thing that really changed it for me is that it is a parallel to die-hard.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is that die-hard is the framework for it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so when I knew that and I could see all of the things that they kind of mimicked and play it obviously, they threw in some home alone and there and stuff, [SPEAKER_04]: So it, I got it in a better way and then I could just relax and, you know, had my jamies on and ate some cereal and bed and had a good time with it.

[SPEAKER_04]: So there's some still some things about bothering me, but [SPEAKER_04]: All in all, it's a, it's, it's well put together as a film, the plot, the action that there's a lot of great action, there's a lot of stuff that really makes you cringe, you're like, no, like there are images in my head that I've never, for a while, the home alone, like actually ramping up the home alone violence was, uh, it was kind of good.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, I get it, and I should go back on to Letterbox and delete my mean words, so that's the answer doesn't give me a lump of coal on my ass.

[SPEAKER_02]: We, you can send, do a review and say, you know what, second viewing, how feel differently.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I see.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'm opening up my magic scroll here, and it says David's on the nice list now.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, good.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, hold on.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have it here.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my nice list.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we've got a lot going on here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I David, I was thinking about the way to approach this movie and honestly, [SPEAKER_01]: The way I watch Christmas movies, I realize it's very similar to the way I watch Doctor Who, which is, use any amount of hand-waving that you need to to get to a wholesome fun story.

[SPEAKER_01]: And because Doctor Who also, you have to really stomach a lot of a lot of, a lot of [SPEAKER_01]: very, very sloppy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the same thing here, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: But you could still enjoy that.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not the same way I want to watch Game of Thrones or Rings of Power or Wheel of Time or anything like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really did enjoy it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like I was delighted by this movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: I actually walked into it after you told me it was terrible.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh no, this might be bad.

[SPEAKER_01]: And especially because I have a chip on my shoulder about David Harbour right now, so I was ready to go and then hate on him, but he was incredible in this role.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was really really embodied Santa.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was just this whole thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'm going into my politics.

[SPEAKER_01]: But just I thought he really did an amazing job.

[SPEAKER_01]: Getting getting a good balance between wholesome and warrior Which is such a hard thing to do right you're gonna have Santa go murder a bunch of people.

[SPEAKER_01]: How do you get everyone to still be like?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but it's Santa with the kid And he really nailed it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that the kills were all really creative I think I didn't put this in the outline, but maybe we could all say our favorite kill I have one I think [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: And just, you know, some of the writing is really, really lazy, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like the stuff around the family business and stuff, you're like, all right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: You just kind of have to wave that away.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's really just a vehicle to get to cool action scenes, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of why I forgive it is it's just a vehicle for the actual main event, which is David Harbor being both, you know, naughty and nice.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, so I guess I'm the only one who saw it when it came out of the three of us.

[SPEAKER_04]: Definitely not see it in the theater did I.

Heh heh.

[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I saw it in the theater.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think I went with a friend, but I can't remember who's so my recollections are obviously hazy, but I do recall walking out and being like, that was just a lot of fun.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think it was a nice like theater response.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so I gave it four stars after that, and I was also like I went in, [SPEAKER_02]: knowing the whole tag like die hard with but Santa, um, so I was kind of like, uh, we'll see how I feel about it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I was pleasantly surprised.

[SPEAKER_02]: I liked it more than I expected.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I came out and gave it four stars.

[SPEAKER_02]: This time I rewatched it still a fun time, not nearly as fun, you know, just in my living room in the moment, I gave it three stars this time.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's, um, it's silly.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's got, well, we'll talk about the naughty and nice stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll hold off on that, but um, [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I still, I like it.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to be one of my annual go-tos, but I was, I'm very glad to revisit it, definitely going to watch the sequel.

[SPEAKER_02]: And a question about you brought up his digital nice list.

[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't, he's a Christmas magic.

[SPEAKER_02]: I still don't really understand how it works, was almost one of my sins, one of my nauties.

[SPEAKER_02]: But do you think his list just like upgraded in his hands [SPEAKER_02]: from paper, presumably, to digital?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is it digital or is it magic?

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was magic screen.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: It just looks like LED, like, like, prints.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's just because it was made with VFX, and maybe not the best budget in VFX.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's 20 million is not a lot for a movie for like a big blogbuster movie.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, it was fine VFX, you know, not great, but fine.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I have a comment about the green screen stuff later on.

[SPEAKER_04]: We'll say that later on.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, to my nice, because I thought it was funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Alicia, since you mentioned the sequel, do you want to just tell us what's going on with the sequel?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so apparently it's coming out December 4th, 2026 in the U.S.

at least, and it's got the, they already have the tagline out.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's stranded in a crumbling New Jersey mall and cut off from the North Pole Santa Claus is trapped, dishing out violent justice to a ruthless crime lord and his henchmen overrunning the town's mall.

[SPEAKER_02]: and they have the same writers are coming back and they said the sequel would have a western influence and that also be influenced by miracle and 34th street.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so David Harper's returning as Santa, but it sounds like the rest of the cast is all new.

[SPEAKER_02]: We have Kristen Bell is Mrs.

Claus.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then we have a bunch of other new cast members including Jared Harris, Joe Panteloni, [SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, it looks like a great cast, um, I hope they at least tell us what happened to the little treaty.

[SPEAKER_01]: How does Jared Harris have the time to do this?

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he's in every single piece of BDI watch.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you watch a foundation?

[SPEAKER_02]: He's a clone himself.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_04]: I like this.

[SPEAKER_04]: If I, for some reason, I thought it was the second one was already out, because I just completely oblivious to these titles.

[SPEAKER_04]: but that it's coming, okay, that's cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then what you just explained, it feels like they can track the die hard movies kind of nicely and then keep sort of expanding this world and it can be one of those things where, oh, it's Jared Harris, this movie and then who's the next bad guy in the next movie, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: They can keep playing with this idea and run it for four or five movies.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's kind of cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm kind of enamored with the idea now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well good, because you're getting them anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they're not letting go of that success.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly what you know.

[SPEAKER_04]: Cash grab, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[SPEAKER_01]: You put David Harbor at a suit and given them a knife or hammer and he's good to go.

[SPEAKER_02]: But he's got to have the Viking man done.

[UNKNOWN]: Ha ha ha.

[SPEAKER_01]: That would be great.

[SPEAKER_01]: That would be great if they really did it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, didn't, what that was just in the flashback, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: No, but at the end of the whole time, I didn't even know.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, not at the whole time, I didn't even know.

[SPEAKER_04]: When you're stitching themselves up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, uh, we've organized this into a, uh, making a list and checking at twice section, where we're each going to do our favorite three favorite things and three least favorite things of the movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Structure it that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it will be our naughty list and our nice list.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, we'll, we'll go through and, uh, we'll, we'll just go Alicia, me, David, one naughty thing and then we'll just do one nice thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's do one of each every time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, Alicia, give me your naughty.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay, so I'll say, and I know other people will feel differently and here's here's another one of my hot takes.

[SPEAKER_02]: I am not a huge fan of the Home Alone movies, so I know I did not appreciate that aspect of this film either.

[SPEAKER_02]: That was my least favorite aspect of this film.

[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a naughty, and nice, I guess I already hinted at it, Viking Santa, I loved, I forgot about that actually until I watched, until he, like, had off his shirt and he had, like, the tats and stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, that's right, he's Viking Santa.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the skull, crush her hammer, he's got the hair, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: I hope we get more of his backstory.

[SPEAKER_04]: I totally thought of you when that reveal happened, and then later when he lists off all of the different, uh, I don't know what do you say, gnome to gear, it's not real, like what would be a gnome to something.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, but yeah, but something thematically, right, so that would be funny.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, uh, no wordplay, no more wordplay for me.

[SPEAKER_04]: But when he was listing off all the different names of, you know, the Christmas spirit thing around the world, I was like, oh, I wonder how Alicia's like this or not.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I did.

[SPEAKER_02]: But this one important thing about that is that he did not mention Center Class, which is actually where the in American Santa gets its name.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: The Dutch Center Class.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, how dare you?

[SPEAKER_01]: They had to cut it off somewhere.

[SPEAKER_02]: They should have started with that.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's the one that I'm Santa.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's an all right, fair enough.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is that is more lore accurate, I think.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I did think that that was cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I thought that it was a fun twist in a fun take and a cool direction to go.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that you've got some depth to the character now, rather than what?

[SPEAKER_04]: How did he get here?

[SPEAKER_04]: What does his origin story?

[SPEAKER_04]: Next way to set it up, but then we didn't get lost in it either, which means that we've got room for it later and later movies.

[SPEAKER_01]: yeah you could have you could have definitely seen an act to that was just like all of his like journey to become his hand-acquads uh...

but i look forward to the prequel movie in twenty-thirty where exactly you know is it he's gonna play him some some like probably like fin wolf hard or something like that oh no oh no don't do that oh no actually you know who uh...

if we're going streamed your things which is a gate in months was his name the one who plays dustin [SPEAKER_02]: He could grow into a David Harper type.

[SPEAKER_01]: You think so, maybe?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, I'm gonna go right into my naughty and nice list.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go with your warrior Viking backstory.

[SPEAKER_01]: And actually, I thought the lack of development was a weakness.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: I almost wouldn't move it to the nice list just because I think that does leave room for future development.

[SPEAKER_01]: But.

[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, I still think they could have done a little bit more like it was just not enough, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was just very, very, very like touch and like you had a whole scene of seeing him as a warrior for like 30 seconds.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's it, I don't know, I could have used a little bit more little late on delivering the hammer to Mrs.

See, you know, been a little more prompt on that Kristen Bell.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, my nice bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna say I love the Christmas magic bet.

[SPEAKER_01]: I actually really like the whole like Christmas magic.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not really sure how I how works.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because I it's even the next spend time on that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that that because like I didn't need you to tell me all the lore of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know we're on the lore hands, but I just didn't need that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And second, I like how David Harbor sold it as he's delighted by it, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: and part of this movie as much as it's about the violence is about Santa rediscovering why he does what he does.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that was part of, you know, every time, you know, sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until it's lost, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: The sack disappears, the ring deer run off.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, Christmas magic, not really sure how it works.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just like amazed by his own situation, yet again.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought that there was a really clever way to play it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought, again, credit to David Harbour for really selling that with just a little smirk and Christmas magic, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Really good stuff, David.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so I will, yes, and on both of your nauties and nices, and I'll say that the whole for a nice, the whole set up of the Santa thing, which we've been talking about.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then my naughty is that it was 22 minutes, 20 minutes about, it was about 20 minutes too long for me because they went too much into the Christmas magic stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, oh, Jesus, you know, by the end of this.

[SPEAKER_04]: I thought we were going to get a little bit more of the Santa backstory.

[SPEAKER_04]: which was fine, but we just spent way too much time in the, oh, you got to believe, and the little conversations between Trudy and Santa and all that stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was just like a little bit too much, and I think I thought the movie, if the movie ended at like 135, 140, something like that, I felt it would have been a lot more punchy and more fun, and it would have been more of a thrill ride.

[SPEAKER_04]: but they just sat too long in the feelings.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so that was the, I think that's connected, but at the same time, I loved how they set up the whole sense of things, especially where you go from this aging drunkard who doesn't really care anymore.

[SPEAKER_04]: and apparently David Harper not only was he training a lot for the fight scenes he had to put on excess weight to get that chubby body so that he wrote what he takes his shirt off you're like hmm oh yeah this is this guy he fits it like he really he really went for [SPEAKER_04]: the bit and so going from like the very first fight scene where you're like, oh, he's kind of getting his ass handed to him to the end where he's back in sort of full fighting trim.

[SPEAKER_04]: I thought all of that worked really well.

[SPEAKER_04]: So sort of a combined thing, a little too long, but love the whole conceit for how they set up Santa and again, opening up for future possibilities [SPEAKER_01]: If I were to cut scenes, I would probably cut scenes between the family.

[SPEAKER_01]: I really didn't care about any of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's your naughty house, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: Or is that on your naughty list, sir?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that is.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, sorry.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to jump ahead of you, Alicia.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, you do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, the family just was so unlikable that it was kind of hard to watch.

[SPEAKER_01]: I did mention to Alicia.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think E.D.

[SPEAKER_01]: Patterson is her name.

[SPEAKER_01]: She plays Alva, the sister, you know, the main guys.

[SPEAKER_04]: She's a good job acting.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like, they're absolutely good.

[SPEAKER_01]: She plays basically the exact character in the richest gemstones.

[SPEAKER_01]: even jellicle mega church fortune and she wants to be in charge and she's pissed off that she's not and she's always like Got in for somebody and insulting them and being really petty and I was like, oh, you just had her play that exact character Even the same in the same situation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's just who she plays [SPEAKER_04]: Well, nice for her just show up on set play a character you've already got nailed down and you take the bag and you're good right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know which game first though.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think because right just gemstones came out.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it started 2021 or 2022.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll look it up.

[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, maybe it was about the same time she was filming them, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: She's just like showed up to play the character in a different set with a different name.

[SPEAKER_04]: First episode [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, really?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I must have taken a couple of gap years ago.

[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, yeah, it was fun to watch her, but other than that, like, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't care for the main guy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember his name.

[SPEAKER_04]: The husband?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Which one?

[SPEAKER_04]: The son of the lightstone, the lightstone son, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just did not care about him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, grandma was just totally awful.

[SPEAKER_01]: Trudy was the only person with any kind of redeeming qualities.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, I mean, [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the, um, yeah, maybe her mom, but like, honestly, I don't think they set up enough of like why she was pissed that he was working to, like, like, what exactly was he doing wrong, because it came off a little bit like, oh, no, my lobster is too buttery and my steak is too juicy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have to go to the food the mansion for Christmas.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I mean, you could see that like her mother-in-law is awful, but like other than that you go Okay, if you don't have to see her and he's just working and yeah, I mean They could have set up like you missed this thing this thing, but it sounds like before they split up He was actually really good dad and really involved so you're like what's what's the problem here?

[SPEAKER_04]: They set him up immediately to be a not bad dad, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, like maybe a little hapless, but yeah, from the moment he was like, his indecrismist, he's happy to see his daughter, all of that stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it was like, I didn't, I agree with you that there wasn't enough evidence to show us why they were split.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: There wasn't enough, there wasn't enough there there for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was just telling, I'm not showing, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, there could have meant when they got in the car, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, they do a little shortcutting there.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like, it was both too much of the family and then not enough development of the family, whereas I just felt like I just didn't enjoy my time with them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So every time we were in the house, it'd remember, it was like, uh, get back to the Santa's slashing.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Troops with the hashtag you blessed with the son Bert Bertrude That was a good gag.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was the genuine the good gag and the What's the guy who is the the husband?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and you know when he runs away Yeah I love what she's like he may have been idiot, but he was hot [SPEAKER_02]: more than feel with that was the character's name.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And Jason is the main guy.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, they spent a lot of time.

[SPEAKER_04]: Again, they all of that was really clear and apparent and surface and it was easy to get that side of the lights don't family.

[SPEAKER_04]: You didn't need we didn't need to spend as many minutes with them to get the point.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think again, punch up the movie a little bit by trimming back a few minutes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I did think it was kind of fun when the mom goes, well, like Sunder's supposed to take what they want.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you did that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm proud of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: So after she said, after he stole from her, you're like, how is this family gonna work out after this?

[SPEAKER_01]: This is wild.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was the, for the epiphany moment where the family relationships are healed, [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was a funny gag that was kind of like oh, okay, she's really proud of him now in all these years He's been Simps a simple sappy kind of guy trying to do the right thing for his mom and it's only when he steals from his mom that she [SPEAKER_04]: has respect for him.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, okay, I get that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm just going to give my nice here so that I'm finishing my round.

[SPEAKER_01]: The candy cane dagger really got me because I just they did a really, I watched this twice actually and the second time I was like, oh, they really set this up well because at first, [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Santa gets a candy cane, she goes, yeah, of course.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then later, he sees it, shoves it in his pocket, prominent shot of it, and then he is sucking on it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you just think it's like a cool shot of him like almost like a cigarette, sucking on it while he's beating everybody down.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then he rips it out and he sucked it down to it that year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that just, yeah, amazing, absolutely amazing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that a lot of the Christmas themed kills were great.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess I'm going to open it up there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Does anybody else have a favorite kill they want to share?

[SPEAKER_04]: You really should you want to go ahead?

[SPEAKER_02]: I suppose it would be the one that I remember the most is one of the first ones where one of the bad guys, whatever, is going up the stairs and we can see the stair.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually the beginning of the home alone sequence, but this is brutal.

[SPEAKER_02]: We can see the stair has been sawed partly in half, so he trips and falls in a nail goes through the bottom of his jaw.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was one real cringe.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was like epic cringe.

[SPEAKER_02]: I remember in the theater the reaction to that one because that is like the first big one, too.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, whoa.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, somebody gets impaled before that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if it's the first big one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we're using the scene.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go to normal.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, the impaling is the first death.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is the first death of the sugar plum crew or whatever.

[SPEAKER_02]: But we're used to seeing that kind of death falling out of a building onto like a big post.

[SPEAKER_02]: That happens all the time.

[SPEAKER_02]: The nail thing was new.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right, but that was the home alone, which was later than the guy that falling getting thrown out of the window and landing on the Isicle spike was the first death.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm saying.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, David any any favor kill [SPEAKER_04]: I liked it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was really the the finishing touch of the kill.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it was, where was his name?

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was Frosty.

[SPEAKER_04]: When his hair catches on fire, he's the guy that got the star in the eye.

[SPEAKER_04]: And when he plugs in the switch and electrocutes him, like that was the funny bit.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then it catches his hair on fire.

[SPEAKER_04]: I really enjoyed that.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was a good twist.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was good.

[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, they do a good job of like having a lot of themed kisses right like stuff you're stocking with the grenade and then he goes and got to watch it all that like getting sucking the other guy up the chibney like come on.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was a good one.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many good kills in this and they foreshadowed the chimney.

[SPEAKER_04]: So you're like, hey, what is it going to fall on them or something?

[SPEAKER_04]: And then when he does the nose thing and he goes up, it was good.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was going to go through the chimney and then dive onto him and like swing the hammer at him from above, taking aerial shot.

[SPEAKER_04]: The bowling balls were, that was hard, that was hard to watch, like from a cringe standpoint when the bowling balls were bouncing at them, that was also tough just to process.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Alicia, I stole your spotlight, so what's your naughty and nice?

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, well, you might have noticed I was kind of quiet when you guys were hating on the family aspect of it because that's my best list.

[SPEAKER_02]: For me, I don't know, I accept it.

[SPEAKER_02]: They were caricatures and, um, and.

[SPEAKER_02]: knowing that that I was perfectly happy with the character.

[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that they were good caricatures.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they were fun caricatures.

[SPEAKER_02]: They were distinct from each other and you know I still thought even despite all the bickering and I and I do agree that at times like the bickering was ah come on almost too unlikable, but then it came together in the end and it's like you know the family that murders together.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's friends with Santa together.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know save the world killed [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, no, that's don't take that out of context, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: I clip that off of Sir.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I, I, I, I agree with you, like, that was a nice part.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, again, like Jason, and what was, what was his wife or a strange wife's name?

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, oh, gosh, it just had to open.

[SPEAKER_02]: It, it is, is it Alva?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's, that's the, uh, the, uh, the sister, Linda.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Jason and Linda, like, [SPEAKER_01]: Linda's the only one who other than Trudy obviously who like doesn't do anything wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if she really doesn't have anything right either You know what I mean She started shooting yeah, yeah, she does start to shoot.

[SPEAKER_01]: She does start to shoot.

[SPEAKER_01]: She does start to shoot.

[SPEAKER_01]: She does start to shoot Jason just straight up sucks.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's just like kind of an idiot [SPEAKER_01]: And maybe I do understand why she loved him because he is kind of dumb and like I and I like when uh he goes uh what she goes you thought that the solution to being two-tethered to your mother's money was to steal your mother's money?

[SPEAKER_02]: He he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he [SPEAKER_02]: They're interesting caricatures, they're fun caricatures for me.

[SPEAKER_02]: The baddies were, I just found them very like superficial and over the top and interchangeable, and the baddies really did not do it for me, especially on a rewatch.

[SPEAKER_02]: really they were flat for you okay yeah like I can't I do's I think the first time I watched I was a bit interested in the girl with a punky hair but then once you find out like oh no she just sucks and then gets her head bastion like okay well whatever you can't if you can't I heard a spacer guys balls I mean come on yeah what about the crampus bad guy I [SPEAKER_02]: What's he?

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really remember much about him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was the guy with them with the hostages all the time.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: He was the one who made them like I felt like he was in presence.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I felt like he was like an exposition machine and he did that well.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like that was, but I was more interested whenever it went to him.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh, I'm interested again because the family's back in it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because he was always with the family during that stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I did like the, the set up of, when Bertro'd, uh, Linda, and, uh, what's the daughter's name again?

[SPEAKER_04]: Alva, we're like, no, shoot him first.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, shoot him first.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, shoot him first.

[SPEAKER_04]: No, shoot him first.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was kind of a funny little bit.

[SPEAKER_02]: But then I didn't understand why he was just like, whatever you say, director, director.

[SPEAKER_04]: So right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: And why didn't he just shoot one of them?

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he did not have a charge of that room at all as much as he wanted to think he did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely.

[SPEAKER_01]: David?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, sir.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think on my naughty list are, I don't know if I should go with the bar, the American bar that's supposed to be in England, I think, or was that in Connecticut?

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, that was just, that didn't work for me at all, but the real thing, the, [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.

[SPEAKER_04]: I might get in trouble.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: The hammer thing like when he gets hit the hammer and he's Sexying it up and swinging it around.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was like, okay, come on.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just get to it and then the slide when he took that little slide thing and he not only On foot does he catch up to them and is able to cut them off, but then does the slide On to the snowmobile.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was just like, okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is ridiculous.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's Christmas magic David [SPEAKER_01]: He's letting prowess is off the fucking chart.

[SPEAKER_01]: He also couldn't realistically make a dagger out of his peppermint stick, but I wouldn't say that that's Christmas magic.

[SPEAKER_04]: I've got that more.

[SPEAKER_04]: So there was a little silliness there, but my nice is the fact that David Harbour, as you were saying before, [SPEAKER_04]: nailed this role.

[SPEAKER_04]: He is perfect for this role.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know anybody else who could have played sort of the sloppy over the hill drunk with that heavy gravitas, the right body type and the physical prowess to do everything that he did.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I felt that his, I said this before I think doing my outtakes.

[SPEAKER_04]: His journey from broken and not caring anymore to being Santa [SPEAKER_04]: like I believed it.

[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of movies, the turn comes really quick and you don't have a lot of evidence for it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And this one, even though I didn't have a problem with him and Trudy, they're scenes together, there was just too much of it.

[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't that it was there.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was, it was stretched out so much.

[SPEAKER_04]: But that, that really did show his progression.

[SPEAKER_04]: That was the thing that progressed him and [SPEAKER_04]: He didn't just go, oh, one day I'm mean and grumpy, and then the next minute I'm like Santa again, there was a progression, and that really worked for me.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know who else could play this role.

[SPEAKER_04]: I literally don't.

[SPEAKER_04]: I would accept Jack Black, but...

No, he doesn't punch his heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: As Jack Black, he's not an action movie?

[SPEAKER_02]: Did you manage it?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did you manage it?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen you manage it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I haven't seen you.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's honestly pretty good, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: What do you say?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's in isn't he in the new and a condo that's coming out in Christmas?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's he.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he also, he played not Santa in the Ursanta, and I started watching that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was not super into it, but it wasn't him that was the problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, he's he's got his own weird Christmas movie where he plays Satan pretending to be said.

[SPEAKER_04]: Santa.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be in the Minecraft movie.

[SPEAKER_04]: He wasn't like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're not, you don't know.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's like, the lava, the chicken, the chicken, the chicken.

[SPEAKER_04]: He was in water words.

[SPEAKER_04]: Dear God.

[SPEAKER_01]: really it's going on yeah well court it's on his list of movies and we've covered one of his movies where we did um uh high fidelity yeah yeah that's an action movie yeah so he's I know I don't but he you know I don't know I just have a soft spot on my heart for Jack Black between school of rock like a girl with school of rock you know I mean he's always just been like I believe he has he has more reigns of people give him credit for [SPEAKER_02]: Do you know L fanning in interviews is always fonding over him?

[SPEAKER_02]: She has a, he's her celebrity crush.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's so funny.

[SPEAKER_04]: I can't wait to see the master list of Christmas movies, though, that we might cover for future things.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because there's a lot of stuff that I'm completely unaware of.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Alicia, you're not in nice last one.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll start with nice is that, um, despite me fighting the baddies superficial, I thought that there were really fun fights, uh, even though I am not an action person, um, but I still, yeah, just the inventiveness of the action.

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I have to say, because uh, another hunt take of mine.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really love the jargon wig movies.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I like this better than the John Wick movies.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that probably has to do with them getting me to care [SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's also just the inventiveness of all the Christmas stuff and everything that we've been talking about.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was, I will give them a lot of credit.

[SPEAKER_04]: They really had a, they seem to have a lot of fun figuring out how to weave in the Christmas stuff to all the aspects, not just the kills, but everything.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was like a funny, it was a genuinely funny movie.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I agree.

[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then my last naughty is how dare they make us pours, watch all that money burn and tell us it's the true meaning of Christmas.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think in like one bag of that could change my life forever.

[SPEAKER_02]: You are bankrupting small countries right now.

[SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing?

[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of hated that ending in theater and this time I was like, all right, it ends like [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, yeah, I don't disagree.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's a great.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are quite out of touch.

[SPEAKER_01]: Also, they just kind of gloss over the fact that they like stole that from the U.S.

taxpayer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, you know, you know what would a money took out circulation.

[SPEAKER_01]: But do you know what, what's a good, what would have been a good way to redeem Jason in my eyes is for him to be like, I am cooperating with the feds and I'm giving them the money back.

[SPEAKER_02]: uh...

yeah and i'm finally gone from the family like wouldn't have been i'm a better for him getting his family back they wanted something over the top i get that but uh...

yeah i mean it's just another or maybe we are supposed to see into that like the the rich are so out of touch that they think that's just destroying wealth is the way to you know even things out rather than redistributing it to the people who need it [SPEAKER_01]: I guess so.

[SPEAKER_01]: The whole thing is just messed up.

[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: David, you're your last.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I feel like I've already said this is just too much Santa Magic, which goes into the two long thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then, well, maybe it's, I think it was, uh, [SPEAKER_04]: you could say that the very ending of them, you know, with a believe in Santa and he wakes against stuff, I get the trope of it and that they were playing with it, but I was just like, [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it was just too much.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was too long.

[SPEAKER_04]: It just took too long too much Santa magic too long.

[SPEAKER_04]: So that's it.

[SPEAKER_04]: My nice aspect is just all the humor.

[SPEAKER_04]: The the slay ride with the green screen.

[SPEAKER_04]: I thought was a funny touch.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're like, [SPEAKER_04]: the little Santa, ho-ho-ho thing that gives away his presence, right, and he calls him because traitor, you know, in the end of the way, the hair on fire, which I already mentioned, like all of it, there was just these funny moments throughout the entire movie, even the, even Bertrude.

[SPEAKER_04]: uh...

you know with a hashtag blessed thing you know he was funny in his own way as well it's that came out this year he'd be saying six seven we all know that was it oh my god he's are you not on six seven awareness we hear it right no but no but not have a ten year old she comes home and no no by being bircher it is too old bircher right right i don't know i feel like six seven is everywhere now [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but it wouldn't do this movie come out 2022 and that's what I'm saying if it came out today right it would have been six seven here it's a dangerous thing to do though is to rely on on those Yeah hashtag blessed at least has Some longevity to it I think Mm-hmm Yeah, we're all going to forget about six seven by next year Right, but but hashtag blast will be around that one that was I can go on because it's go we have a whole decade of influencers that we get to make fun of [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I have my last two bits.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that the revival was absolutely stupid.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I know what they were doing like you're saying David.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that the, but I thought that the revival was very stupid.

[SPEAKER_01]: She should be disturbed by it.

[SPEAKER_04]: So long.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a long time.

[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you got a cut five minutes there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And my nice list is, and you kind of touched on this David, but like the beginning where he is, [SPEAKER_01]: just go and off and she get and the bartender she gets mad that he's going on the roof and she's we do this thing that's in so many christmas movies of looking up and going oh my god i just spoke to the real Santa and then as she's coming to this realization open mouth receives she all at her head uh it was terrible it was that supposed to be in England [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was supposed to be an England.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was not an English, that it just, and bad English accents.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's all my naughty list.

[SPEAKER_04]: 100%.

[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't really know it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know it was supposed to be an England.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think when they flew off in the night sky, it was like, oh, but the other stand at down at the end of the bar, he was talking, you know, speaking with an English accent.

[SPEAKER_04]: She had an English accent, which was horrible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, what the English accent is a fake accent that they made up to sound better than the pores.

[SPEAKER_04]: So you're trying to get downloads for the podcast, John?

[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't respect there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't respect the English accent.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want that on record.

[SPEAKER_02]: Which one?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a good question.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't respect the posh English accent.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, now that I've lit England on fire, I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: All I will be, now listening to this.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you pissed off the people who will politely say that they are displeased with the world?

[SPEAKER_04]: They are 6% of our listenership.

[SPEAKER_04]: I will have no share.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was, what didn't they are like a piece of media was a good omen's where they were like, if you don't do this, I will be mildly displeased.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, somebody right in, we had a, I had a fun time talking about this movie with you too, and I know we, we said this, we're probably going to be a quick podcast, because there's not a lot of substance of this movie.

[SPEAKER_04]: We've done an actual mainline podcast that is under an hour.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know the last one that would have been.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I do not know.

[SPEAKER_04]: You don't.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think all of our murder bats and Dr.

Who most say, yeah, yeah, those were, but I think we did it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alicia, you're going to have a list for us on the die hard episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
