Gilmore to Say Wrapped 2025

Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_00]: Five, six, seven, eight, wrapped, like a present.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like a little gift from the gift to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Keep on giving.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, here we go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Gilmour to say wrapped day.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's our last episode of 2025.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can you believe 2025 is over?

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_01]: It came and went so quickly and boy was it in here and yet dragged on forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: and on and on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, quite literally wouldn't stop, but here it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here we are at the last episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: On, I guess, New Year's Eve Eve, because last week was Christmas Eve Eve.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of my favorite episodes to record.

[SPEAKER_00]: You did say that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said that yesterday.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was, I didn't know that about you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Love this episode so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is so much fun to record with you and kind of reminisce on our year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I recommend it to everybody after this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: But just in general it's like really fun to just chat about our year it I think puts things into perspective I think everybody should have a wrap just like in their own lives like you know [SPEAKER_01]: Just review a year and a million.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It just puts a lot into perspective.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think during a time when maybe, you know, you're feeling like this end of your rush and you're like, oh my god, I can't believe the year's ending.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't do XYZ.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, take a look at what you did do because it was probably like what you did do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, probably a lot more than you think.

[SPEAKER_01]: And reflecting on this past year, I cannot believe how much happened this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: So much happened to the share.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like kind of wild to think about that it all happened this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's one of the things that I'm kind of [SPEAKER_00]: In this, in this reflection that we're doing, I am doing my own reflection as well, like trying to just fully realize that some of these things that I'm remembering all happened in this one calendar year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's start with a little Gilmore to say by the numbers because we released a lot of content this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, boy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we released 41 Gilmour to say episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just Gilmour to say plus 8 Gilmour to watch yeah Plus a Gilmour to watch okay plus three patreon episodes that we took from Patreon and aired them oh yes 10 Gilmour to consider episodes and 18 Gilmour to read episodes [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, okay, I will say one of them was recorded in a year prior.

[SPEAKER_00]: And oh, really?

[SPEAKER_00]: This year, yes, they're back across one, because there was a boycott for her publisher.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I delayed the release of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that scared me for a second, because in the episode that came out, I guess for 17, I did a little, get more to read recap.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I said 17, and I was like, wait, wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got it wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: So adding to that, [SPEAKER_00]: We tell it, loves a calculator.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love the advisor.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, put the little green visor on me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready.

[SPEAKER_01]: So altogether, 41 Gilmour to say episodes plus a Gilmour to one.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll just go more to say.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, oh, cause you attend Gilmour to consider.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, plus a Gilmour to watch plus three Patriot episodes that we aired publicly plus 10 Gilmour to considers [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, plus we did eight re-releases of Gilmore to save revisited and That brings us to 81 episodes that we released this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is it that crazy just that publicly?

[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't give all of our patron episodes, which I didn't even count which is so many because releasing for a week right now releasing for a week right now for a patreon so It is well past.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, probably just as many [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, probably because we do four a week on Fridays, we do lives, we do live free watches.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've been busy.

[SPEAKER_01]: We've been very, very busy and busy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_01]: And comparing it to last year's, I think we really, 60 something episodes last year on pod.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we were busy this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of gomer to reads.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I don't do that next year, good word to reach this fall, which is really cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: You had so many so many fun authors.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which I'm excited to talk about a little later, but yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to share a little more to say by the numbers because that's a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's simply, simply wild.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that something, no matter how many episodes we release, regardless of how long we've had this podcast, which is four years at this point, our number one episode is always our first episode, by like a mile.

[SPEAKER_00]: Always.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like the girl is tuned in, and I guess get locked in from that first one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, that's how they find us, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also really great, you know, hooks, star cross lovers, and other reasons to hate Jean forester.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're like, oh, you hate him?

[SPEAKER_01]: You hate him?

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's hear more.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me more.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come sit at my table.

[SPEAKER_01]: Up until this point, from January to today, when we're recording that switch is December 16th, we've had 1.16 million downloads.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I just like marvel at it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Breaking the year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Breaking a million is [SPEAKER_00]: I marvel at it every year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's new in a cry.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me too, locate.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's new in a cry.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then we broke 100,000 followers on Instagram, which was a goal for us for a long time.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wise.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's one of those goals that you kind of have sitting in the back of your mind that you're not like, you know, it's not any sort of like end all beyond the success.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, wow, this is how many people we can reach.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just just talk about gummer girls the way that we do here like in the same way that like like a million over a million downloads like Why it we know doing Stay [SPEAKER_00]: I know, don't leave, but like, I can't believe it.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to keep doing it more and more and just the fact that you guys are listening, we get to do it more and more, which is so exciting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I just want to know things I can't even fully process that other than just to say things for being here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for being here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Being here besties.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just makes our heart really happy, hearts both are hearts.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have one heart, one brain, one brain, one brain, two hearts.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a little go more to say about the numbers for you guys before we dive in because we did ask you guys what are what your favorite episodes were some of your favorite moments and we have some ourselves.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to start with that and then read what you guys wrote on Instagram, which I love doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love going through it every year.

[SPEAKER_01]: every time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I always forget.

[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.

[SPEAKER_01]: It really gets me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because the year was start to blend together at some point.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, oh, that was this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I was going back through seeing what episodes we had done this year and I scored back too far.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, we did do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And suddenly I realized it was in 2023.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, well, that was not this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, let me let me.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I was just like, I mean, I'll just as one long year for the last four years.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so true.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's start with what our favorite episode to record was.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me what your favorite episode to record.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean for me, I love this episode here, so I'm going to exclude that's episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: But tell me what your favorite episode is.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's kind of strange to be like, this episode is what we're recording right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where we look like we match from different parts of the [SPEAKER_00]: We were sitting in Tara's bed in the hotel room, still in full glam in our robes talking about this night because we didn't want to We wanted to do it right then so we didn't forget and we just just come from in and out and it was just like the circumstances of it were really fine and really cool [SPEAKER_00]: Um, not to mention the content that we were talking about because we just come from pay the fast so that one was just like a weird strange moment of us like recording together for the first time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think prior to that was like half a year ago, um, what was the last time we had been together recording?

[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that one just kind of takes the cake.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So so so so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was the first one I put.

[SPEAKER_01]: I actually chose three.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I kind of chose four.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I chose six.

[SPEAKER_00]: You chose six?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you, you guys, Tara sent me a note this morning via text.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, text with it, just sent me the note.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I knew it to do with it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You wanted to say what?

[SPEAKER_00]: It was like all the breakdown of everything because I, [SPEAKER_00]: like we need we were preparing for the episode didn't say anything with it didn't say hey right down three right down one no it's just like categories some of them I have one some of them I have six some of them I have two so there were no rules given and so I made my own [SPEAKER_01]: All right, Paley Fest was at the top of my list too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but the next one I have is grantly Philips.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was one of my favorite episodes to record Can I say it was grantly and then doing the tributore episode?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like love those kind of in tandem back I loved first of all grantly [SPEAKER_00]: True sunshine human.

[SPEAKER_00]: What a wonderful man.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think you and I are his biggest fans probably I want to go to every one of his shows like I want to go see him live because I just remember looking back at the episode because I review the episodes for Gilmore's I and I was just like Tara you are [SPEAKER_01]: Smiling too hard.

[SPEAKER_01]: Stop it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're like I was just lying.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hi.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's terrified that man.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, no, my or scary.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was such a delightful experience.

[SPEAKER_01]: Having a conversation with him that I just couldn't stop smiling the whole time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, you look insane, but good for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Glad you had a good time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I will say, sometimes when you get a guest, like someone like Grant, you're not sure how the conversation is going to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know what kind of conversationalists they are, and so you're coming to this really unknowing.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can prepare as much as you want to, but you don't know how a conversation is going to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: That man is so charming.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's so funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's so warm.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's so inquisitive and curious and intentional presence.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then going back and doing the town trip door episode where we talk about him and his character in its entirety because we didn't want to make him suffer through a recap of his whole time on Gilmour Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was just so much fun with that context of Hitler and having met him and [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we have to, I think one of our 20, 26 resolutions together has to be find a grant Lee Phillips live show so that we can go to it to get there because I just think it'd be fantastic because he really is a soundtrack too.

[SPEAKER_00]: So much of what Gilmore Girls is and them vibe that we get.

[SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: had to had to be at the top.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: What is one of your next ones?

[SPEAKER_00]: Partings.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love.

[SPEAKER_00]: Partings live.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that was great episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: We recorded it for Patreon for Gilmore to say live with our vicious trollebs and it was [SPEAKER_00]: chaos and long, and Tera couldn't stop crying, but we are blending everything together, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a live experience with Arvish's trolops, a Patreon episode and also something that's going on pod.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it kind of was bringing all of like melding all of the things we do here on the pod cast together, like on- [SPEAKER_01]: behind Patreon together and also it's like one of if not your favorite episode of Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was so highly anticipated and I just I couldn't stop crying.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was just so it was so cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was really worried all day to do it because I was like I don't know how this is going to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm right.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was just like a woke up afraid to talk about it because I do love it so much.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, to that one was definitely one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I loved our Luke or Suki episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that one was so fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a really fun one to plan because, you know, we've talked about food on the show before we did it a lot or we did an episode about it in our first year, but to talk about it in regards to suki and luke and the food fights of it all and how they've kind of lukey, how they were like positioned to be a little bit of a rivalry against each other was so.

[SPEAKER_01]: So cool and wonderful.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love pulling them all out like so one of my favorite things about the podcast is like the Very intentional watch that we do for suit sort of an episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like that one I went to find all of the suki and Luke scenes and like how their storylines crossover Yeah, which is like not any way that I would ever intend to watch it like just like on its own So I really enjoyed that Speaking of a man I loved our bread episode [SPEAKER_01]: I loved those episodes with him, like recording the three of us and also doing a little one-on-one with him was really fun And I Loved bringing him into the fold.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know people are excited for him to come back next year, and I am gonna let you guys ask too I was gonna say he are intention we have intentions for Brett to come back next year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, though Brett has to finish the series and [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, he's on Broadway.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's revisited and has been for like months, months.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we got to watch the whole show and are watching, halfway through it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, before this man has finished season six.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I have high hopes for him, because I can only have high hopes for him.

[SPEAKER_00]: But.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're going to work it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to work it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to work it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're trying.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're really trying to best.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I have told him that the people want him back and I think that will light a fire under him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we, yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if it feel free to send us DMs requesting it that we can show him that's be like, Brett finished the show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, just I can feel free to just flood our DMs with that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I blast when I will say, is I.

[SPEAKER_00]: really really loved.

[SPEAKER_00]: I guess, was it last week?

[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it was two weeks at this point.

[SPEAKER_00]: Our Christmas special.

[SPEAKER_00]: I loved talking about this show in Christmas.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a lot of fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was good.

[SPEAKER_01]: My other honorable mention.

[SPEAKER_01]: I loved doing the gossip girl episode with Caroline.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I loved it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had so much fun because it is refreshing to talk about this show from the angle of another show.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is something that I kind of wanted to do and I did do with Sarah Lampert with Gilmore to watch because like I'm sure you feel the same way with Gilmore to read is that like talking about this show from the lens of [SPEAKER_01]: other forms of media is very exciting.

[SPEAKER_01]: When I was watching Gossip Girl, I just, I could not stop thinking about how many different ways it connected back to Gilmore Girls and that was so exciting for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think like one of the things that we've bonded over within this podcast is like how we can kind of relate Gilmore Girls, honestly, back to pretty much anything to anything.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so, or anything, back to Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it was really, really fun to do that with Caroline.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I loved it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had a great time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I still need to listen to that episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to find something to listen to.

[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up turning on audiobook because I've been gluing ribbons together making like ribbon paper chain.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I don't really have anything to listen to.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that is what I will do when I do ribbon paper chains.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think you'll really like it.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's just so fun and like, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't listen to the two of you talk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you think so we have, so like, [SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know, I'm in the love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm in the love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a gossip girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even though Tara and I were both rewatching gossip girl, Tara finished gossip girl and I'm still at season one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am the Brett here.

[SPEAKER_00]: You are the Brett.

[SPEAKER_00]: So true.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the Brett here.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, loves.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good choice.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good choice.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Moving on to favorite off-pot moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: What did you have?

[SPEAKER_00]: I love when you came to my house in June, was it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think.

[SPEAKER_00]: And all we did was I took you to the grocery store.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, it was just such a great time at the grocery store.

[SPEAKER_01]: We had to take a city girl to a suburban grocery store and you'll see just how she lights up like, you guys like seven times.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that was so fun watching the airstore and speaking of Taylor Swift, one of my favorites was us seeing Taylor Swift on Colbert a couple weeks ago, so fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's like number one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I put there is so many, but like, [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I didn't feel off pod.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like just like off pod is like friendship.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was like the closest off pod because you did come to my house so that we could record the rewatch club.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going together.

[SPEAKER_00]: We recorded eight episodes while you were there.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was crazy, but like in a good way.

[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was so it just it worked and that felt like off pod because like it was related to pod.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we were at the grocery store.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so true, and but Colbert was definitely more just like We were not on the podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were being friends, but Mr.

Brett the man got us tickets and I literally did like the inside of my brain just hurts tear it up just a little bit when I'm right think about it because yeah [SPEAKER_00]: See, Taylor Swift, we were so close to her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Distance-wise, how far away do you think we were?

[SPEAKER_00]: My mom keeps asking me and it changes every time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like 20 feet, pretty feet.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, maybe?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's different, those are two different.

[SPEAKER_00]: 20 to 30 feet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how long is, how far is that?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: 20 to 30 feet.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just, like, I can't, like, at any other distance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can't really either.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I played, we would love to be really helpful, pretty close.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we were close.

[SPEAKER_00]: Close enough that when she turned and looked at us, we were making eye contact.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's true with her.

[SPEAKER_01]: She waived.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're a little closer.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're coming, guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: Her glam waves.

[SPEAKER_00]: Clam waves.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, Tara, that makes so much more sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tara commented on my Instagram posts and she put a C-shell.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like C-shell.

[SPEAKER_00]: C-shell.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like a phone like she's talking to us like we're talking to the ocean.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know I don't know I just like I hope she gets this no, but they didn't have a plan because I looked for shell like a clam shell But they didn't have yeah, so she's like a shell because I was like clam by Shell by shell.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that makes so much more sense [SPEAKER_01]: I also put paleo-fest, I mean, it was a pot moment, but like, off.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a pot.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, yeah, we're not on the pot when we did it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, but then also getting to surprise you with my engagement.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was on the pot, but like, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, the pot.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite part of that is I thought you were going to bring up Sabrina Carpenter.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you in reason?

[SPEAKER_00]: I know I was so locked in I was like it's Sabrina Carverner's birthday I don't know when that girl birthday is but I was like this is what the story is about and to like you were so in it But that's what made it so great is that you had no idea what I was saying and all of our listeners all of our Trollups in the chat were like oh my god, and you were like what see this is why I either don't like watching movies or a door watching movies is because I try to stay ahead [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like oh, this is gonna happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is gonna happen and so sometimes when people start telling me stories I'm like oh, I already know what's gonna happen and with that one at no point even when you showed me your ring I was like What is what is this?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I just like try to stay ahead of it and it's like a really occurs for me So sometimes I like need to stay in the moment And you were you were beat by beat with me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so much as I was like when does Sabrina come out?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was like hello [SPEAKER_01]: I loved that plan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I guess I'm like off pod moment for me Was at paleo-fast in the audience [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my, okay, when they called you out by your government name, by your genie-beenie-given name, I know, because Leirand and I were sitting next to each other and I sank so far into my seat.

[SPEAKER_00]: My shoulders were touching the seat.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, uh, [SPEAKER_01]: crazy, but I think that that, like, so moving on to moment that went wrong, I kind of like classified this as like, like, stand out moment that kind of went wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: We usually do, like, on the pod, Vesuvii, because nothing will ever top Vesuvii.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you guys don't know Vesuvii, please go to Patreon and listen to wedding belt.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, actually, you don't even need to go to Patreon.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can [SPEAKER_00]: Go backwards and listen, I need, I need you to experience it live.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is the wedding bell blues recap for Gilmorey visited.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very early on because it's when we're doing the DVD we're beating through the DVD chapters.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just experience it on your own if you have not yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you've heard us mention this and we and you're like, Grily's what are you saying?

[SPEAKER_00]: We're saying the souviest.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you're like, that's not how you say that word.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just [SPEAKER_01]: just go back to the beginning of basically so funny by a moment that went wrong like stand out moment that quote unquote went wrong is that we had purchased tickets to pay the fast and so we also we had an extra ticket that we gave to Le Run our editor so that she could bring a pal with her but then when we got our press tickets [SPEAKER_01]: because we had seats, we were being given tickets because we were on the press line.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so when we got her press tickets, they were like, all the way up in the balcony.

[SPEAKER_00]: They were weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got tickets that were like, so we got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we had gotten tickets that were not like, directly on the floor, but like, right, they were like in the orchestra.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, section of the...

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Hollywood theater.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so we only had one ticket.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I told Hayley, I said, you take it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go sit in the balcony.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I was in the press line and it was for content and then I got in trouble for getting for taking content.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so kind of the happy accident that happened is because we were up in the balcony and no one was kind of really monitoring us because I was taking video.

[SPEAKER_01]: I took a video a bunch of times.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was more over when everything happened with Stacy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was sitting next to Nicole who we had met from us weekly and love her.

[SPEAKER_01]: like when my name was called, I just grabbed her and I was like, that's me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tara.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, oh my god, it's she like got the video and people in line or in like our row rather.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's in the press line.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it was just kind of like this happy accident.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, I would have loved to have been with you, but it was this moment that Nicole captured.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was so cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think I would have had a presence of mine.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I would have, I didn't, I mean, as it turns out, I didn't have a presence of mine to do anything other than just like going around and I grab onto each other and we're like, that's how exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the other happy accident that happened while we were there is that like, just where we happened to exit was right near where Valerie was with Liz Torres, who plays Miss Patty.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we ended up meeting her.

[SPEAKER_01]: She complimented my purse.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was so cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: What a sweet way.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was so cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: What a sweet way.

[SPEAKER_00]: My new favorite purse because Liz Torres loved it.

[SPEAKER_01]: What a start.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like literally wouldn't like I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did you have a moment that went wrong that likes to doubt to you?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and I didn't want to talk about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna bring it up and the only people that know Well, that witnessed this for some of our vicious tropes.

[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me want to like it like I quit the podcast that day So recently Tara and I did a live on Patreon and I sent the wrong link to this studio [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know I'm telling people this because it's like truly I came back and I was like, Tara, I'm quitting the podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to cry.

[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: It harms me.

[SPEAKER_00]: It harms me.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you can send out two links.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can send out audience or guest.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm so used to sending out the guest link because I [SPEAKER_00]: When I have a guest I send them the guest link and the way that it works is with the guest link You can turn it on so that they have to wait and all waiting room before like coming in and being accepted a lot like Google meet Or what's it called?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a Google meet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you need to call it be called Google hang out But anyway, I digress it wasn't turned on so when it's not turned on you can just come right in I Forgot to send the audience link audience link it means that you can just be in the audience and you're not gonna show your feeling as yeah [SPEAKER_00]: you're viewing us, like an audience might very apt terminology that I mixed up.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I posted the link to Patreon, of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Tara was like, there's people here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, well, Tara, that's what we wanted.

[SPEAKER_00]: We wanted people to be here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't realize what she meant.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I joined, and there was a bunch of people looking at me, and I left, and I was like, what?

[SPEAKER_00]: Just happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what is what's going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I realized that I had posted the guest link and said the audience, everyone joined, [SPEAKER_00]: and so everyone was a guest.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh my god, everybody's like cameras were on and we were like, what is happening?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what was happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and which is, which is lovely, but we were doing a rewatch episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, not if we can't have everyone talking about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, but yeah, I was so panicked about it, but in my panic, I kept rejoining the room.

[SPEAKER_00]: I kept going back to the studio, but then I would join a new studio and I would go into it and it was still the old studio.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Riverside was like glitching the whole time and every time I would go back in and I would be in this room of people who I who's like names I know but I who's faces I don't and it just felt like a felt scared, like a felt like a scary movie later just I got to click on a different studio, go in, it's the same studio.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think because I had it open on a different tab, it kept defaulting to it, like Riverside, something weird was happening because I kept going into it even though I was entering a different studio.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think you can be into it once, maybe that's what it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: But every time I went into a different one, I was joining the one where everyone was and I was like, I don't know, and I kept leaving rather than being like a normal person.

[SPEAKER_00]: And being like, hey, y'all, [SPEAKER_00]: This is all messed up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start over, which is ultimately what we did.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like it's just like the more worked up you get about something, the more like treacherous it feels.

[SPEAKER_00]: and it was just like a horror movie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every time I'd be like, okay, I'm going into a room by myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's 20 people here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I, like, in the last time I joined it, I finally was like, I'm quitting.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm quitting the podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, well, that's, you sound better.

[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't sound so bad.

[SPEAKER_01]: Retelling it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But in the moment, it was so chaotic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then if you remember, I started having like, [SPEAKER_01]: All of a sudden, my video started going blurry.

[SPEAKER_01]: We were having deep technical difficulties.

[SPEAKER_01]: We were having really bad technical difficulties.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think Riverside was having a breakdown on that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it was really funny about causing a breakdown for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was like, I think I just like got up and walked away.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I told my mom, I was like, I can't do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: People saw me and she was like, [SPEAKER_00]: Why isn't that really like the retelling of it doesn't make any sense because you're like, yeah, that's But like when you think you're going into room where there's going to no one's going to be there and you open it and it's a surprise party that you accidentally threw [SPEAKER_00]: for yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then you keep going back into that room, throwing yourself an actual surprise party, and at no point have you ever intended to be there?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But so I'm really sorry about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that was probably the most harrowing experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: And in the retelling, you're like, yeah, he like that doesn't sound that bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like, [SPEAKER_00]: And you tried joining the room full of people and not expecting them to be there.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was very complicated.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of laughing so hard because it was like, it was like, we can't get up laughing at the same time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.

[SPEAKER_00]: Am I laughing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Am I crying?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like being in a work meeting and do cameras on, you don't realize it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of that sort of like, what is going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I've been there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I'm not going to bring this up.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to make sense as to why this was a scariest moment of the year for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that was your scariest moment I think you're doing okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the whole area is okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: Moving into a penny in that changed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I have a couple.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, me too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to start with the revival.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you and I watching this together was a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: More fun in like a [SPEAKER_00]: way that I didn't expect, like I thought that we were going to hate on the revival the whole time admittedly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't expect us to find all of these little moments that we loved and recognize all of these callbacks from like, especially from Dan Paladino in his episodes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I fully expected to be like, oh, about the musical, but like going back and learning the lore, we really loved it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I also did change my mind and like, I still don't love what the musical is doing in the episode, but I love the musical itself as like, if we pulled it out as like a little short.

[SPEAKER_00]: that got attached to the release of the release of the year and life is a whole lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I expected us to be a lot harder on the revival, but we ended up liking it a lot more than that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was one of mine as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: And April and our DNA.

[SPEAKER_01]: We really soften to April and our DNA this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: We, okay, we soften to April and our season seven softened us to April and our DNA and Zack.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Zach that was shocking.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that we were we knew we were not in a Gilmore girls season like in a true Gilmore girls Like season seven wasn't real because we loved April and Zach totally Wild but in that same vein I changed my tune on season seven.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've never [SPEAKER_00]: hated it, like absolutely hated it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've like, watching it in the past, you know, my man Logan, but I did a complete 180.

[SPEAKER_00]: You did like mind blown, mind blown that I'm the one who is calling him a gogo.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like don't get me wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that is my man.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love Logan Huntsburger.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am a Logan Huntsburger, [SPEAKER_00]: could never change, but objectively, a Yacoman.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you really, you really saw it like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: You let me know when you really let you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you really let me know.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot to be to be said.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we, to be here, I've said it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have been said.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's been said, but yeah, Yacoman in season seven and in, I would say Yacoman in the revival.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Yoko Luzar, yes, there's even a hand motion that goes with that I forgot it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yoko Luzar, but I think that the thing is in season seven is you just realize he's just a mediocre man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who just is on?

[SPEAKER_00]: Who just is so self-forward.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you're just like, [SPEAKER_00]: Like the whole thing with his dad when he left the company, I was like, oh, see you just, you just leave and everyone else clean up your mask because now you're just like done and you're just showing shown your dad the middle finger to all of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't you stick around and show some responsibility?

[SPEAKER_00]: could not explain more.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that was the biggest, that was the biggest, I think that was honestly the biggest surprise I've had thus far.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would say if I could put one on you, that's what I would choose.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, is that you really, that we gave him a hand motion.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's my man.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, go lose her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that the thing is, is like, I've always had very mixed feelings about Dean and Jess and their character and what happens with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have been like, full force for Logan.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, of course, I've had very critical things to say about him in season five and six.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like when we got to season seven, I was like, oh, this man, I would say no, too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would say no, too, worries.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, 100%.

[SPEAKER_01]: about you, those two.

[SPEAKER_01]: April, softening to April and also softening to the revival.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was really hardening to season seven.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got a heart, we, I think we got a heart around it.

[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think that with Gilmore visited, when we revisited, like at the end of that, is like, you realize just how differently you're watching the show, then you ever have before.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think that for a lot of people who have a lot of like, [SPEAKER_00]: I guess like criticism towards our thoughts and opinions as we moved through revisited, like maybe we were being too harsh, but it's like we were going through with a fine tooth comb, like comparing it to like previous episodes, because like we weren't particularly nice in some of the like the season six episodes.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, when they were still there, but the season seven, well that's a different show.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is a different show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel even, I feel more affirmed than ever.

[SPEAKER_00]: I agree, I agree, I agree, after this year and get more revisited, totally agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: So moving into our favorite listener moment, I'm really curious if we have some of the same.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I know we don't have one of the same because it's less of like a fave and more of a hilarious story that I remembered in thinking about this in one I don't think a you remember or be like Do you want to share it right now?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I want to share it after we talk about our faves, but um, okay?

[SPEAKER_01]: I really loved meeting Michelle at paleo fast Michelle Hickey [SPEAKER_00]: Michelle Darling Michelle Hickey so sweet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_01]: Literally what a wonderful person She won our giveaway for the Paleo-Festic it's and she's wonderful.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's so talented and she's from Orlando.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes [SPEAKER_00]: and it was just so great to meet her and so great to meet her she is writing a book or she wrote a book and she's querying it so that it can get an agent and be published like she is on her way she's probably going to be on a bookshelf near using oh I loved Michelle yeah I just called her Michelle anytime there's ever a Michelle then I'm referencing on the podcast it's always Michelle yeah well I loved her I'm not sure thought about that yeah I was so long ago I know like [SPEAKER_00]: And it was, I loved being in an arbor.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just had also just meeting all of you in an arbor.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that is just honestly one of my favorite times of the whole year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like thank you so much to Lisa and Lane at Rock Paper Scissors.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that you guys come next year because if as long as they are having that event and they want us to be there, we'll be going to be there because it's just so much fun and it's just so cool walking around town [SPEAKER_00]: and seeing all of your friends, like all of our listeners, but just like people we've connected with at the store and just getting to be a fan girl about literally everything, because at that point, show girl was about to come out and I had my life of a show girl nails.

[SPEAKER_00]: And ran to people kept stopping me on the street to talk about my nails, but it just like that felt like it feels like such girlhood.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're just walking around town, meeting friends, making friends, being in the store, meeting our listeners, which is what this question was about.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I just like, I can't like pinpoint anyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did love doing trivia and sitting next to the fear biders.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like every time they knew an answer, they were like, got it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Got it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like Nina and the Kindle.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think her name was [SPEAKER_00]: Like the two of them, like they were just like so locked in and they like were.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure the two of them could be on a Gilmour Girls trivia team just them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be everyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, one of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that was really fun to like see that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I totally agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: For me, specifically meeting Julia and her mom was the highlight.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you guys, Julia and her mom for the costume contest came dressed as a Luke and Jess.

[SPEAKER_00]: Julia was just her mom's Luke.

[SPEAKER_00]: They had like, the last year's stubble and everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's what I was thinking about when we were walking around town.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we were just sitting at Ruth's Rose and our favorite coffee shop in the harbor.

[SPEAKER_00]: They just walked in and we were like, hi guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like, like talk about an angel.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like Julia moved us like handwritten cards and I still have mine as I was like starting to pack up.

[SPEAKER_01]: I found the card that Julia gave us and I was like, oh, I love this and like it's going in my, I have like this box of special cards that I keep.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it was just so special.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to make a murder.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to say junk journal.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that in there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Love.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was just so special to meet her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And, and [SPEAKER_01]: all of our listeners like I know really two members baby fio of course I do that really and a and a least says yeah baby baby yeah so cute probably our youngest listener are you [SPEAKER_00]: has to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, actually, I think Cal might be.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: My nephew.

[SPEAKER_00]: He loves conversation.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, not to go on a tangent.

[SPEAKER_00]: He loves listening to people talk in their regular voices because he's the cutest thing on the whole planet.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's six months old.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you want to talk to him like he's a little bit of a baby, totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he's locked in when you use your regular voice and you start talking and I was like, [SPEAKER_00]: Does he love the podcast so he actually turned out he really does listening like listening to go Where to say love cuz he likes listening to me talk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I do think he is our youngest listener But Theo close second close.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would I'll call him a listener cuz call is Familiar he's related.

[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't really count.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the owner of the tie But it was yeah, and our like in general is always one of our favorite [SPEAKER_01]: Listener experiences, but there is a story that I have to tell you that again, I don't think you even noticed, but what I was thinking about this jump down in me and I was like, oh my god, I totally forgot this happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's trivia, it's like the end of kind of our weekend, trivia was like the last of them we had.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we were talking to one of these listeners, one of our listeners who had come to trivia and she hugs you and she looks directly at you and she goes, and you are so beautiful.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she turns, it looks me and goes, it was so nice to meet you, and I was like, and I am a bridge troll.

[SPEAKER_00]: We, that was like, do you remember?

[SPEAKER_00]: I remember the one we were no one talked.

[SPEAKER_00]: They liked the one we're no one talked, and I was no one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't remember the going to crawl back under the rock from, from whence I came, from whence you came.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like it, that's where you live now, it's relevant to you, to you from me and Oliver Listeners, you are beautiful, thank you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like as long as I think I'm beautiful and the man I'm marrying thinks I'm beautiful.

[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's all the matters.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it was a very funny and really made me laugh.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I looked at each.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, not at all.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you were so very beautiful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I already know that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't make it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It really does feel like the one where no one talked.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do.

[UNKNOWN]: I do [SPEAKER_01]: Can I also hear, bye-bye.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, claim wave, claim wave segueing from the listeners who think that some of us are not as beautiful as the others.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to just like mention how like nice it is to see our listeners and like unlikely locations like I got to go to St.

Louis to be Beck's conversation partner and I was with Ashley Jordan and Atlanta earlier this year and seeing our listeners at those events honestly felt so comforting to like like them to come up to me and be like hi I came to came up to support you because like I love the podcast it just felt like oh my [SPEAKER_00]: At this thing that I was nervous to do, it's so nice and so cool, especially to be at Bex event, because so many people were like, you introduced me to Bekeborsan, from our episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: I only started reading her books because of you, so it felt like full circle for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: To have me be in conversation with her and to like those moments were really fun because like I didn't expect to be talking to our listeners Then I fully expected it to be like a room full of their breeders.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course and for our listeners to show up to was really really fun Because I met Hannah Day [SPEAKER_00]: with Miss Hannah Day, Miss Hannah Day, Icon, who's she's a Patron icon.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're not, if you're not, if you're not on Patreon, you might not know Hannah Day, but if you are on Patreon, you're like, wow, she met a celebrity that day, and I also met Miss [SPEAKER_00]: Ms.

Madison, who was out of center at our St.

Louis event, and I was like, oh, we know who Ms.

Madison is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because she said her name was like Madison, you were at our event.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she was like, I counted for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, Ms.

Madison, Ms.

Madison.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my gosh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because she said I'm a teacher.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, this is slowly unlocking for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then she was like, I counted.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you had our St.

Louis event, we did some polling.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Ms.

Madison [SPEAKER_00]: and she didn't icon that one.

[SPEAKER_00]: So those were my little iconic listener moments that love, like, they got, they, they were choose celebrities in the BTS universe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Love.

[SPEAKER_01]: Favorite businessy related thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love this because I love to kind of reflect back on the business side of things because you guys of course always hear about like the pot, the on-pod things that happen, but there's so much that happens behind the scenes between me and Haley beyond just the podcast because we are running [SPEAKER_01]: a business behind all of this.

[SPEAKER_01]: But for me, and we talked about this a couple of weeks ago, we're very recently.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think when you were here, this is the first year that we had the most consistent year business-wise income-wise, because we as a podcast stayed on the same network for the entire year, and this is the first year we've ever done that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We had consistent income, we just like, I think really hit our stride this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: It felt like, um, like, this, like, not in the years pass.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think the first two years we felt like we were truly flying by the sea of our parents.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, working on in play.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there was like literally no income coming in from this podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were just doing it to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but this is the first year that I was like, this is my job.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is my job.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I do for work, um, which was really cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I didn't really know it to write for this one, but that is a really good answer.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wrote down the company holiday party.

[SPEAKER_00]: I really enjoyed that.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, that company holiday dinner between the two of us was unmatched.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of the best centers I've had all year.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, so, so, so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing that I really loved is that we, we not complete, they consistently were kind of like, [SPEAKER_01]: kind of slowly getting into it, but our consulting business is kind of like slowly taking shape and we're working with, you know, pretty little podcast now, you're one and only source and being the consulting producers there, and that's really cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I love that we're able to do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think [SPEAKER_00]: I think that all of that comes from something that we were talking about in a VTO episode for December or we're talking about reflecting on this past year and talking about our colors for next year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is it so much if this year was a mindset shift that like in the consistency of it being like our, I mean, in the consistency in the consistency of it being our first like real consistent year of the podcast, [SPEAKER_00]: In terms of like the business side of things, I feel like this was the year when we were like stopped Acting like what we were doing is like, oh, we're being delusional by asking for this thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're being delusional by thinking this will work out It's like, no, no, no, no, back up.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've worked really hard for this thing and if you ask for it You have built [SPEAKER_00]: yourself into such a place, and worked yourself into such a place that you can ask for these things and the answer 90% of the time will be us.

[SPEAKER_00]: If not more than 90% of the time, because you have reached a level of...

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even want to say a level of success, but you have reached a level of work that you have done that has put you on a level where these things will work out for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: scared of it like that we didn't think we had been there that we had had surrounded ourselves with people who weren't really like speaking that into us that it really had to come from us to end it was really that like realization of like we are not being delusional we are being delusional to think that this is delusional and so I think that having that mindset shift.

[SPEAKER_00]: Specifically, as it relates to the business was the most helpful to be like, oh, and it really like was gaining a new confidence that I'm excited to take into the new year.

[SPEAKER_00]: I completely agree with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: We kind of alluded to last year having a really big hiccup in our year that I think was kind of like the root of what made us so confident going into this.

[SPEAKER_01]: and realizing that our gut feelings about the direction we wanted to take this podcast in the partnerships that we forged on our own, those things were all right.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think trusting ourselves to take the reins on our own business and not feeling, I think that, you know, when you start anything and kind of the way that our show took off in 2022 we were like, we don't know what to do with this and we feel like we need.

[SPEAKER_01]: Help, we need to be with a network that's going to take care of everything for us and they're going to know what to do with what we have.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that we were in that mindset for a really long time of like, oh, well, when we sign with an agent and we sign with a network, then our show will really like, they will foster our show and everything will just continue to grow.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then we did get those things and we realized that it actually was more of a detriment than it was an asset.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that trusting ourselves to be like, oh, no, we know it's best for our show.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it thrives when we are at the home.

[SPEAKER_01]: is what made this year so successful in my opinion.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, because I feel like so many people, so many of y'all can relate to that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where it's like, I will do this thing when this happens in my life.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will do this when I get to this point.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will do this at this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like you need perfect circumstances to achieve it, which is really like the enemy of success or the enemy of progress really.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that like kind of unlocking that and being like, [SPEAKER_00]: We can do it and do it just trusting ourselves and just stepping out the thing that I've said is like you always have a no until you ask Yeah, answer could be no, but you already had to know so why not just see so why not just be content.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that was the it was a mindset shift for me business wise that yeah, like was the most effective this year [SPEAKER_01]: I agree and that's why I love this question at the end of every year because it gives us an opportunity to reflect back on our business, which I kind of forget we have sometimes because the podcast is just like the thing, but the podcast is a business, you know, we have merch and we have partnerships and we have, you know, there's so much, there's so much, there's so much of the business we own.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I just am really proud of the ways in which we stepped up and took the reins, which started last year, but really, really informed how this year [SPEAKER_00]: So do you have a favorite cut moment that didn't make it on air I don't think so I mean of the two of us I feel like you're more likely to cut yeah because I'm just like whatever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah I stumbled to do that and I will say it right eventually or perhaps I won't Perhaps maybe you know I feel like you're more likely to cut but I couldn't really think of anything that A favorite cut moment [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't necessarily like a favorite cut moment when I was recording with Caroline our episode was very long and it ended up being very long on air as well But one of the things that I cut was Caroline we were talking about how gossip girl and Gilmore girls has a cut has a has an unearred pilot or I'm sorry Has a backdoor pilot and she was like like nodding along and then she was like hold on what's the backdoor pilot and I was like [SPEAKER_01]: happy to explain to me like I'm five and I was like, well, when Haley and I do this, we say explain it to me like it's the office and I'm staying Oscar lemonade stand.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was explaining it to her like the lore of that and I totally run.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, you can got those.

[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need the explanation of everybody here knows, but it was very fun to explain the turkey.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, okay, got it, got it, got it, got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, explain it to me like Oscar and lemonade stand.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: So just a little origin story that I cut, but yeah, I think that I've gotten more comfortable with, you know, allowing like the stumbles or like things to be in there, then I like as we do this year after year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I get more comfortable with that stuff, personally, but, you know, I'm still a little sweet.

[SPEAKER_00]: The only time I will ever, like, be like, wait, let me say that again is if I'm saying something that I know in my mind in that moment, I want to pull for a real.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna be so honest, because I have pulled things before where I have not gone back and said it, and I was like, you little demon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Say it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like have it like as because I like edit most of the reals that we've been doing lately So I will be like nope That's like the only time they'll be like if it feels like really Essential to the story that we're telling that I'm going to put on socials I'm like wait, let me see that again Because girl if she has ruined so many of the ideas of Things that I want to post because she did not say it right and I'm like you know what I'm gonna post it [SPEAKER_00]: you messed it up and you didn't say it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: So guess what's the punishment?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, guess what?

[SPEAKER_01]: That's so smart and forward thinking of you because I don't think about that nearly as often as I should.

[SPEAKER_00]: I find myself, I mean I guess this is not something our listeners think about and it's something that you could think about if you wanted to start a podcast, which you could, is like going through life in the different conversation patterns that you have to have.

[SPEAKER_00]: So talking to Mandy about this that like you just don't have the same understanding of how [SPEAKER_00]: your own voice sounds and your own voice works and the patterns of speech that you have, because you're not listening to yourself that much.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think that until you host a podcast, because like it's such a skill to like be able to do to us talk, but at the same time be like, oh, this would actually be really good pull for social in the middle of talking about it, but it's like, have I said everything I need to say and have I stumbled while saying it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Should I repeat it so that I can pull it and put it at the beginning of what we just said to make it seem like it was seamless so that when people listen they're going to be like, oh, she stumbled.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they're not gonna notice that I like pulled that for a real and set it correctly and so it's like thinking about that But also getting your point across correctly and also Listening to you and wanting to hear you and respond to you appropriately But moving the conversation for issues is different and so like I find in my like regular conversations I start to like kind of think of like [SPEAKER_00]: What's the core of this conversation, and I'm like, girl, you're literally talking about biscuits to your sister-in-law.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is not that deep, hilarious.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I find that I'm having like cut moments in my real life, actually.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm like, sometimes I'll be like, let me rephrase that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need to.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need to say it like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it will be times when I'm like, I don't know where this is going, but I have started talking already.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I need to back up because I...

[SPEAKER_00]: I actually don't know what it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've decided to start saying so you just start a sentence.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let me start over.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where that's going.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I started to be like, let me, let me start over.

[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe like funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for announcing.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is very, very funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's kind of like Lauren Conrad with the planes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like she'll stop playing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: When a plane is going by.

[SPEAKER_00]: We do that all the time, y'all.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're like.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're learning Conrading.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pause for a plane.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me about your favorite Gilmour to read episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have one?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, as it turns out, I did 18 this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's quite hard to have favorite.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is like what a banner year for Gilmour to read.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of the best ones, like just quite simply incredible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Before I started Gilmour to read, I had kind of like a bucket list of like dream guests that I would have and Kennedy Ryan and Carly Fortune were on that list.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I can say were because those are two people that I had on the podcast this week.

[SPEAKER_00]: two episodes I think I would completely redo the way that I did it, but it's one of those things that you don't really know how you would do it until after you've done it and you're like, oh, I could have asked this question and done this and asked about this and it's really only in the review process that you've learned those things to ask about.

[SPEAKER_00]: So those are definitely two that I would like love to talk to again and get a repeat because I kind of honed in on what I would have focused that episode on.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they were just honestly so many.

[SPEAKER_00]: Really love talking to Susan Lee.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's like one of my new favorite people on the planet.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's just such a kind, wonderful, warm, hilarious person.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't wait to keep reading her books.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's really hard to pick a favorite.

[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, all of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: every one.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that I just got such different things from all of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I reference the Sarah McLean episode a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because she gave me a lot to think of in terms of just like storytelling in general.

[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of did a little recap for this at the beginning of my B.K.

[SPEAKER_00]: Poors in episode, um, on Gilmore to read, um, kind of like my faves because I was just like, [SPEAKER_00]: talking to like all of these iconic authors, like authors who I love, who were like, you know, like titans and the romance genre.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but also make friends with so many and learn so many amazing things and like backgrounds that they have with Gilmore Girls, like in the most unexpected places, like I really didn't expect just how much like Coco Mellars, like studied Gilmore Girls, [SPEAKER_00]: like in school in terms of dialogue and how much like that and sex in the city helped turtle learn how to write dialogue, which was just so much fun like seeing someone who does like literary fiction, like has that like such deep like sort of like fangirl gene in them, but yeah, I kind of all of them and I think that overall, if I could say my favorite, [SPEAKER_00]: It's just that like all of the work that I've done for Gilmour to Read has really started to expand because like getting to ask to be a part of two authors book events.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, really fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with Ashley Jordan and Atlanta who's like like what a like sweet dreamy gal.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love her so much and I just like cannot wait.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I can't believe it was like her debut novel but like I just can't wait to read more of her books.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and of course being with backs with B.K.

[SPEAKER_00]: and getting to talk to her like on the podcast was so much fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: It felt like such a full circle moment because I met her through the podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like our first episode that we recorded together was how we met her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then now, having her back on the podcast a second time, as a friend was really fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it just feels like I have gotten to a place like I said that like, I keep...

[SPEAKER_00]: asking for authors like particular authors or I kept asking at the end of last year for this year thinking like oh my god they're not going to be on podcast like Carly Fortune and Candy Ryan I was like they won't want to be on the podcast what am I thinking I'm going to get it now and they were like yeah sure when can we book and I was like [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't expecting that, and so like now going into this next year being really intentional about like trying not to be so Delusional about being delusional and being really intentional with guiding it because I'm like, wow People want to be on here, like we get a lot of requests now.

[SPEAKER_00]: We get a lot of outreach about it, which I'm just like, look at this thing, look at her, look at her go But it's like really just I think on my favorite parts of the podcast is just getting to [SPEAKER_00]: Talk to all my favorite authors about all my favorite books.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah and talk to you, get to recap it all with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is really nice.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting terror to read.

[SPEAKER_00]: You guys terror's reading.

[SPEAKER_00]: 2020's like his terror's reading books.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think I'm going to read a lot more books especially as you know, as we look ahead to 2026.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am, you know, we just talked about this on RVTO episode for our troll-ups.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to hear kind of an expansion, the expansion through the, um, you can, you can, you didn't make the reference.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can listen to that on Patreon, but we're talking a lot about how, you know, our colors.

[SPEAKER_01]: our colors for this year and how 2025 was informed by both of our right years and what the intentions are for next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, it's having a rom-com here.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really want to dive into some of the rom-coms that have been written into literature because I feel like that's where, I mean, we have talked about this.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's where a lot of the rom-coms have gone.

[SPEAKER_01]: is to check it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so diving into that, because I would really love to write a rom-com film this upcoming year in 2026.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of my intentions.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I need to immerse myself a little bit more in those, but it's just better for you before bad instead of you know scrolling.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so usually do a crossword puzzle before bed, but also now that I have like the wedding going on, I like tend to kind of like scroll and Pinterest and stuff before I go to sleep because I'm like trying to get inspired, but also that's not the time to do that so to create healthier sleeping habits.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think reading a book before bed is really good and that's something that I did with Hannah Brown's book this year because we were reading the preparation for the episode and [SPEAKER_01]: I really enjoyed that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like I slept better.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's just better for you before bed to kind of read, get your eyes a little tired, but not from screens and yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's another perk too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe becoming a little more of a reader growly and 2026 will see.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, we've got a little, you get much re-competition.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh!

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe she's going to take over.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take over that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tara, take over.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was your favorite?

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that we just talked about Gilmore to read, but what was your favorite guest app this year?

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think a sneaky, fave guest that we had this year on GTS was Anne Hood.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she was so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was, cause like that type of role crossover of Gilmourter Reed, Gilmourter say, because she was on for her book, Life Short Talk Fast, which was 12th, 13 essays from writers talking about their relationship with Gilmour girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I, we had gotten outreach from her publicists about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was excited to talk to her, especially talk excited to talk to a writer who's a fan of Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: But having her on, she was just like such a lovely gem.

[SPEAKER_00]: So charming had the best stories to tell.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just like even afterwards, when we got off and we were all just chatting, like she was just so signed, love her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And just like so unexpected.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I heard of her like previously, but I didn't know much about her, [SPEAKER_00]: What a what a gem.

[SPEAKER_00]: What an excellent guest this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think as we had this year we're great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing Sebastian.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh What a lovely man.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love love love.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love him.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you have not listened to Sebastian Cannelly Is that he says last name if you haven't listened to his episode I believe it was a march or April of this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and you have this deep desire to both laugh [SPEAKER_00]: like unendingly, and feel really warm and fuzzy, go listen to his episode, so great, one of my faith guests that we've had, totally agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then we had Hannah Brown, which was such an exciting opportunity because I loved Hannah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So random, I love Hannah Brown so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to know how she felt about finishing Gilmour Girls because she was in the midst of her Gilmour Girls rewatch, while she was also filming Bachelor in Paradise, and [SPEAKER_00]: And about to be out next summer she does and maybe we'll bring her back that would be well because I'd love to know about how she ended up feeling she was about to get to white.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did you drop out of you?

[SPEAKER_00]: I know like on the precipice.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Kind of check back in with very exciting relief.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and then my faith of course was [SPEAKER_01]: grantly films.

[SPEAKER_01]: How could he not pay?

[SPEAKER_01]: But I also loved Sarah Lampert.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was an amazing guest for my first come work to watch.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was great.

[SPEAKER_01]: I loved having Caroline on the podcast.

[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, like this is not necessarily a guest episode, but our interviews at Paylee Fest were [SPEAKER_01]: I mean unmatched, but one of my favorite interview experiences was with Alex Borstein on the record.

[SPEAKER_01]: I knew you were going to say that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love her.

[SPEAKER_01]: What an amazing, true chick, like that's exactly how she's got to be.

[SPEAKER_01]: So down to earth, so present with you, so dry and dry, dry, but earnest, so earnest.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is the thing that I loved the most about her is like, she was so present with you or with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just felt she was that way with every single person because it was watching her.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was moving towards us and how she was with every interview, she was so intentional when she spoke.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can tell she's very, very secure and who she is.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's obviously so talented.

[SPEAKER_01]: and was also just like super cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: And remember that I had cherry earrings and cherry shoes.

[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, culture shoes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like what a gal, what a girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: I felt that way because like for sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: A girl's girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about that about Amy and Dan too, because like I guess if we could include guests, we did have like their interview on the podcast this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: very very brief but we had been so nervous to talk to them because they have just like you know you've seen them talk before they kind of have a very sarcastic nature to them but like talk about earnest like just so kind and just really excited about our podcast and just in general like couldn't have been a dreamer experience which speaking of our platform that we [SPEAKER_00]: they gave us the absolute weirdest year and recap.

[SPEAKER_00]: I actually could never show it to anyone because I might show you guys this one that I'm about to talk about because the other ones were kind of scary, but...

[SPEAKER_00]: It gave us our top word that we said this year on as we recorded.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's interesting because this takes into account like conversations that we have that don't make it to pod.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that it's not just like the edited version.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's us recording in general.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's somewhere to say.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's come re-visited.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's come re-to-read.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's come re-to-watch.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the re-watch club.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And do you want to know what our top word was?

[SPEAKER_00]: What's it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to guess?

[SPEAKER_00]: Was it Gilmore?

[SPEAKER_00]: It was Amy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Really?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah [SPEAKER_00]: And so I will post to our stories only for 24 hours.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will not put this on the grid.

[SPEAKER_00]: It edited together a video of us saying Amy a million times.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's horrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's horrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: They really need to work on that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So sorry, y'all, at Riverside, but like truly, a bomb, like truly the worst tragedy, like that could have befallen the two of us editing my, it's really awful.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it was our job word was Amy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's so cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: The other video was us like you guys really love to laugh and so it edited together just 20 seconds of us laughing from about 40 different episodes though.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that like a montage of that would be cool to know sound.

[SPEAKER_00]: We could give it no sound.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could, you know, I'll post it on our story with no sound.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys could see, because I thought maybe when I was like, well that's so cute and then you were like, it was horrifying.

[SPEAKER_00]: You put this, you know, we've talked about it so much.

[SPEAKER_00]: I might just put it up and everyone be like, oh, well, I might tag every side of it and be like, do better.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is everyone's copying Spotify, you know, the rap to the everyone does.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're having our own rap episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: We are.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, they, they need to get back into the drawing board.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go back to the drawing board on the wall.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just need to use people instead of AI.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, and of course, people were directing this because it's not something like, you know, they were like, oh, this would be good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just 20 seconds of them laughing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know who thought that, but I, [SPEAKER_00]: would like to have a review with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we would like to do a new review.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah, yeah, yeah, I could have been cool, but I did love that they gave us our top word and our top word was Amy, which felt so random, but also right.

[SPEAKER_00]: But also right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, in talking about guest steps, you know, it wasn't necessarily a true guest step, but manifesting that our top word being Amy from this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, maybe our top guest next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's manifest that.

[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be Amy, and Dan, and Dan, we, you know, really, we need to talk about Dan more and I need to talk about Dan more next year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's part of our, it's Dan, like, that's our whole opinion that changed.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that you and I, it's not necessarily an opinion that changed but something that you, a revelation we had was the fact that Dan is so much more integral to [SPEAKER_01]: If then use the beating heart, Dan is the lung spring thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's so true.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's so true.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which speaking of moving into kind of like the besties opinion on some of the things that the questions that we asked on Instagram for GTS wrapped.

[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people loved our Amy, dear Amy and Dan episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I love that episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to do more of that because we talked about them.

[SPEAKER_01]: I loved that episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, flew.

[SPEAKER_01]: And oh, yeah, good episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, um, the Richard Gilmore episode, ranking the Gilmore guys, and a lot of people loved the Paleo Fest episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_01]: We know Gilmore guys, what was that?

[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't the rank of the Gilmore guys don't they?

[SPEAKER_01]: like the making them out of Gilmore girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, we did the bracket.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the bracket.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh my gosh, someone needs to guide me back.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're everything we did.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there were a lot of people that really loved the bracket on them so glad.

[SPEAKER_01]: But people also really loved the top 25 episodes of Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_01]: you guys I have been pushing next year we have to do a top 26 through 50 we just have to they're like you were good but not good enough but excellent but almost there almost there exactly episode that you wanted to be the third host of a lot of people felt the same way about that episode they wanted to be a part of the like you know the conversation way again on it but another episode people loved that I meant to mention was the Kenny Ortega episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about that, I guess, we're going to manifest next year, manifest, manifest that man.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was very close this year and a lot of people wanted to be a part of the rewriting season 7 episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I admittedly, I would have loved for you to be there.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I could pick an episode that I would have loved you as a third host for, it's that one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: We needed more.

[SPEAKER_00]: We needed more eyes, more ears, more opinions, more mouths, more mouths, one-hawed person.

[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, favorite Patreon episode of 2025.

[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, help me pranks.

[SPEAKER_01]: lot of people said partings, but a lot of people said that they loved the episode like the VTO live when I told you I was engaged and that was really special.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you are a VTO on Patreon, you can go back and see Tara.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me that's she.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's engaged.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I probably believe me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, me.

[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite response to this just if I could have a moment for myself was Sure, I'm sure what that listener said to you baby take all the time you need take a 10 take a nice Tarot 10 [SPEAKER_01]: Probably the engagement reveal.

[SPEAKER_01]: Tara is a gifted storyteller and not just like made my heart so happy.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's nice.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I'm like am I selling this story right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was really, really I think given the fact that I was so locked in also the fact that you told me like I had some really good Pasta so you can almost like run this up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pasta come in and why does it run a carpenter servant to you?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just super in a carpenter showing up when did she show up like that you had me so lucked in but she said I am sukey in Sadie Sadie And I was like, that's really cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I really loved that a lot of people enjoyed that but parting was also one that people really loved and He's fun voyage Bon voyage was really fun, but people really love our Gilmore revisited and I think that's just gonna make them so much more excited [SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully for a measle podcast which is happening in 2026.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so so so so just a couple months away I am so excited so excited Okay When did you disagree with us with a really good one and a lot of people said the top 25 episodes of course I've seen did I disagreed with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean like I could go back and disagree with so many so I have gone back and I'm like I've a change this one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah [SPEAKER_00]: We disagreed with ourselves recently on the rewatch club.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were watching Tales of Pose and Fire and it's just going to task it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were like trying to side where that would actually go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think rating the Gilmore, like ranking the Gilmore men, some people disagreed with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: I also disagreed with us like being liking the musical and the year in the life, like in other parts of the year in the life, [SPEAKER_01]: I also agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: I could totally understand that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing is like, you're disagreeing with me from a couple of months ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: Same.

[SPEAKER_00]: Same.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did we change any of your Gilmore girls opinions this year?

[SPEAKER_01]: Some people started to become more team-jass.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some people, that's not what I meant to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I was not the propaganda.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to sell there Some people said that Zach was the star season seven That revival Logan is a Yucca loser more left for April so yeah I also did say see that someone on like the disagreeing is like Logan is not a Yucca loser He is my man, but I was like he is also my man, but he is also [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilmore Girls episode topics that we should cover in 2026.

[SPEAKER_01]: We had a lot of suggestions, but my favorite, and I actually DMed this listener, was that we should do a cold open episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, might be getting that a lot sooner than you anticipate.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was really excited about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's one of those things that's like, um, you know, you're guessing you're cold.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're cold.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're getting warmer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're getting warmer.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're hot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe about hold opens, but you are getting warmer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're getting warmer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just wait till season five of go to say exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Enjoy the premiere episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then I asked, you know, I asked about merch ideas for 2026 and where we should go, go more to say, live in March 2016 too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, and I'm really excited to share those with you guys along the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I said, let's end it on a sentimental no favorite hair and haily moment of 25, which I really loved.

[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of it was paleo-fast me telling you about my engagement and, of course, Taylor Swift at Colbert.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think those were like really some of the top highlights of the year.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I could pay for it, it would probably be those three.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can you believe that we started the year with Amy and Lauren and Kelly and Alex and Dan, we will never forget you, Dan.

[SPEAKER_00]: And ended it with Taylor.

[SPEAKER_01]: I said that to you while you're sitting in Coupara, I was like, I can't believe we're here right now and I can't believe that like this was it in Coupara is at the holiday party.

[SPEAKER_01]: It might have been at the holiday party.

[SPEAKER_01]: The holiday party was just being a daily sitting in the bar eating a steak.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was eating steak.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was eating steak.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm allergic.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we were trying to have like a there's the bread moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was not a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: We did not get what 60, 40.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: Promise.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: We did become friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: We did part of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We did part of our tender.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a little different.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's close enough.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, though, keep calling it our holiday party.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it was more than just a party of two.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was literally just a while as eating dinner at Paris.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think we, I can remember if we talked about it there in the audience.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're waiting for it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, this is insane.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I think about the steering, all of the things that we did this year, all of the things we celebrated, all of the experiences we had.

[SPEAKER_01]: together separately it's just this was a really incredible year for our podcast and I'm so excited to do it again next year and I it's funny because we've mentioned this before like we've taught we've been talking about the 25th anniversary and this season for a very long time on this podcast since we started it's like oh my god the 25th anniversary yeah the 25th anniversary is going to be coming up while we're doing the show and then once we do that I don't really know where we go from there [SPEAKER_01]: and it's so incredible to know that we have a trajectory to go beyond just the 25th anniversary because in some ways and in another universe maybe this would have been the last year of Gilmour to say, but no, no, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's so much to look forward to.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the thing is, is like we at least have to do this until fall of 2027 when Amy and Lauren's book comes out, [SPEAKER_00]: fucking believe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, we have to wait for that Christmas special.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, there's just so many good things.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like that's what's so fucking fantastic about the show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all are so wanting to listen to us talk about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're still wanting to talk about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the show is 25 years old.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that just speaks to the show itself.

[SPEAKER_00]: That also speaks to, you know, if we're doing a year wrapped, how many people involved with the ownership of [SPEAKER_00]: drop to the ball and celebrating it because of the amount of people that just absolutely adore it like just given the fact that we had over a million listens this year of people wanting to listen to and talk more about Gilmore girls total and it's like the WB Netflix anyone who has any like stake in the property like just drop the ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but we don't just give us more fodder for, yeah, it just, it leaves room and opportunity for more celebrating because I keep saying this like once we celebrate the 25th anniversary There's so many more 25th anniversaries to come because now we're gonna be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the season one finale Just as a rival like the dance marathon episode like so many things because there's so many 25th anniversaries to look forward to now that the initial [SPEAKER_01]: like premiere of Gilmore Girls has celebrated its 25th anniversary and I can't make more to celebrate more to say yeah on that note I just want to know what are you most excited about for Gilmore to say in 2026.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh so much I think that we have a lot of fun topics that we've kind of been brewing but I have to say I have to stop kind of [SPEAKER_00]: anticipating anything happening, because every single year, regardless of what I think is going to be the most exciting thing or what I'm looking forward to the most every year, something has occurred and it is way more than I could have ever imagined.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Never imagined that we were going to be Amy and Dan this past year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like everything, every little piece of what has occurred, I'm just like, okay, I can plan for things like within our business, administratively, [SPEAKER_00]: When everything else comes to planning or like something's going to happen, you know, like there's just magic ahead because we're open to it and we are reaching out for it every year we're surprised by something and 23 it was like.

[SPEAKER_01]: our show really kind well 2022 our show took off like we never imagined it would 2023 you know we went to Denver we did our first live show like so many things started to take shape that we were like oh my god we have a show yeah 2024 it was the New York Times interview being in us weekly like all of these other things the Kelly Bishop live show live shows in our [SPEAKER_01]: And then this past year all of the things we just talked about in this whole episode is like not none of those things that we just listed ever would have been predicted so I don't think there's a ton We can predict for twenty twenty six outside of what is within our control and I love that I love that just the possibilities are endless What I am excited for which is within our control and something we're planning for [SPEAKER_01]: is to cover nasal and to talk about the ways in which Gilmour Girls and Mazeal like where that then diagram is in a lot of different ways.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think watching this show with you is someone who has seen it like seen the first season but doesn't really know it especially as well as Gilmour Girls.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that is going to be a really, really fun experience to watch that together.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's also not going to feel like a copy paste of Gilmouray visited because Gilmouray visited, like, come on, how many times have you in icing Gilmour rolls?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: The number, the limit does not exist.

[SPEAKER_00]: With the rewatch club, it's a different form of us watching it together.

[SPEAKER_00]: With Mezzo, you've seen it multiple times.

[SPEAKER_00]: I saw the first season in one day in 2017, and haven't really touched it since.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't really know what [SPEAKER_00]: Happens very much.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like no like I've seen like clips from like guest stars who pop in I don't know how you've told me spoilers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so it's like I have really no idea what I'm getting into So I feel like it's fun because it's a it's kind of the same format as Kimory visited but completely different.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a completely different set up a different show, but it's not going to feel so copy and paste them.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not, but there are a lot of really fun parallels.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dialogue.

[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of potential parallels.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know actors that come in from Gilmore Girls like funny Easter eggs that I think we are just going to eat up and love and I can't wait to talk about it with our pasties if you haven't seen nasal I really would love for you to go on this journey with us on Patreon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wait a minute.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do it in March.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to speak.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I kind of want them to watch because like there's going to be a certain point where it's like maybe not.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll we'll try to make it spoiler free but we kind of have you haven't seen it Tara yes, I'll do right hand up Don't fucking spoil it I won't I won't no I won't you can't okay And that's that it's been a nice year [SPEAKER_01]: I'm very excited for 2026 and we hope you guys have a wonderful new year and I know I will because this is my last episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm filming in this apartment on pod and I'm very excited for you guys to see me in my new home where I will feel a lot better, a lot senior, starting the year, happy and healthy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have a lot of fun plans lined up, a lot of events that are where are manifesting, a lot of guests that are in the works.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so if there's one thing that I'm looking for to in 2026, it is you following us hopefully where we lead you will follow because we can't do this without you.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we're very grateful for you being here that we do get to do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: The next couple of weeks, we're going to have some Gilmore to consider leading up to us kicking off season five of Gilmore to say on January 20th, which I'm so excited about.

[SPEAKER_01]: So excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a really fun episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: But in the meantime, we're going to consider some of your opinions.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll have more to say on that in the next year.

[SPEAKER_00]: In the next year.
