How To Have A Gilmore Girls Fall (Gilmore to Say Revisited)

Episode Transcript

[SPEAKER_01]: Five, six, seven, eight, fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yay!

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, we did that exactly the same.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Tara.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's fall y'all, it's Gilmore Girls Fall officially.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is fall, it's actual fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Gilmore Girls Season is well underway.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're here to do today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm so happy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I like in my element.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was sad to see some are go, but I know I'm excited to lean heavily into cozy time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I call it like my like enrichment activities when the sun goes down early and you can just read and craft and do puzzles and watch Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love this time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that's why people love fall is because they can kind of like hunker down in an eat soup?

[SPEAKER_00]: You're just eating soup and doing puzzles.

[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's like I feel like summer has that like foam-o feeling to it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you want to be out doing things.

[SPEAKER_01]: You want to be out in the sun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Beach.

[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go out with friends.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but with false kind of like, I kind of can't go.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little cold.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, it gets darkerly, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that I'm not looking forward to.

[SPEAKER_00]: Admittedly, I don't like when it gets darker earlier.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love when it's still light out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like in Georgia, it's still pretty light out even in the fall and winter.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not.

[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't, I think the sun sets like an hour later than it does in New York here.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's still great.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will say I always like that the sun sets later until the sun sets earlier because it means like I said before, like my enrichment activities is like all of them, like it's like like, oh I have to go, I have to stop working, I can't do anything, the sun's gone.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's dark now, I have to light a candle in the above, I have to go inside, I have no other choice.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have to turn on season 5 episode 7 of Gilmore Girls, like what else would I do?

[SPEAKER_01]: It is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she's a predictable girlie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: But before we get into today's episode, which is entirely about come across fall, we wanted to mention that we reached our 100th episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: We did, but it is not the episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were talking about it in Denver when we were kind of plotting and planning our fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we were like, oh, yeah, when our 100th episode happens, [SPEAKER_00]: 100th episode happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cool, cool, cool, cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was our 100th episode?

[SPEAKER_01]: It was going to take in center number 28.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was the Gilmore can, to consider, have you ever uh, people calling in about their Gilmore edition episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'll find out the episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a fun episode and like we just like chugged right along, but we just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just kind of drove right by that day.

[SPEAKER_00]: We just [SPEAKER_00]: you know what I mean yeah like I feel like this is our monumental episode that we've been talking about for yeah fall Santa we've been talking about this episode for only about a month but we've been just so excited to get here yeah because I feel like that's the thing right now is like [SPEAKER_01]: It's very trendy.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is why we did our autumn matter episode last year, if you remember it, it's one of our most popular episodes last fall, of course, because it was about fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: We actually revisited it recently on Patreon to see how our feelings had changed from where we got to with that, because the reason we did that one is because everyone was talking about Gilmore Girls' Fall, and so we were like, oh, well, let's help everyone.

[SPEAKER_01]: like find all the fall moments in Gilmore girls, which is what we're like trying to find what a fall episode means.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what we really found from that episode, if you've listened to it, is that like it doesn't matter what season it actually is, it's about the vibe.

[SPEAKER_00]: It really is.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's about the aesthetic, it's the activities, yeah, they're eating, what they're wearing, what they're doing, yeah, totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so all of us, who are already watching Gilmore girls are around, because we don't have Gilmore girls falls, [SPEAKER_01]: We kind of want to like do in this episode as like give you like more to your Gimmel Girls fall Yeah, then just watching Gilmour Girls a like almost if you're like a main character in Star's Hollow Yes, yes, we were kind of trying to figure out how we were gonna navigate Gilmour Girls fall [SPEAKER_00]: Because of what we did last year with an automatic so perfect we gave everybody the fall episodes the vibes Even if it's not specifically an episode that takes place during the fall We were just basically building and Gilmore girls playlist of all the episodes that we'd want to play for our Gilmore girls We watch specifically fall episodes for the girlies who watch it year round.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that people who don't watch it year round They're just gonna plow right through the entire series, which of course respectable But for us we were like, okay, how do we really define?

[SPEAKER_00]: having a Gilmore Girls fall and celebrating it with Gilmore Girls, but this year, we wanted to do that and take a kind of off the screen and celebrate Gilmore Girls and have a Gilmore Girls fall as if we were the Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I love that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, kind of like, kind of like also like a little bit of like a delusional fall, a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like you know, like you're like, I am the main character of the show that's like very atomno.

[SPEAKER_01]: What are you wearing?

[SPEAKER_01]: What are you eating?

[SPEAKER_01]: What are you watching?

[SPEAKER_01]: What are you drinking?

[SPEAKER_01]: what are you reading and we are here to help you decide what all of that is and like in a very like Gilmore inspired way with like things they did on the show watch from the show right on the show but also being very aware of the fact that like our fall does not always or like even our interest is not always quite a quate to what they're interested in because something that we were talking about before was like would the Gilmore girls watch Gilmore girls?

[SPEAKER_01]: because we would and we have like all this a content and media that we consume because we love Gilmore girls, but like would they watch it?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I genuinely don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to believe yes, but like, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really curious what you guys think because I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: With the Gilmour Girls Watch Gilmour Girls because something that you pointed out yesterday when we were chatting is that they don't really watch TV shows.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're like movie watchers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pop culture references tend to come from movies, music, et cetera.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they kind of tend to keep it to like I don't know the world of Gilmore girls and so I think that a TV show watching a TV show is definitely very like trippy but a TV show watching movies like with characters that watch movies and reference them all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why that makes sense to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it does.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it makes social sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so like that's why we're really kind of going to balance the preferences of the Gilmore girlies and us girlies.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know to kind of give you like a well-rounded Gilmore fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm so excited.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Haley now usually we love to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: We kind of like bring separate things to the table and then like surprise each other with them on pod.

[SPEAKER_00]: But this is one of the first episodes in a while that we've really collaborated to build a list.

[SPEAKER_00]: for the fall, which we're really excited about.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we're basically building a bucket list of how to have a Gilmour Girl's Paul.

[SPEAKER_00]: And first on that list is have a cozy movie night or have a cozy Gilmour Girl's watching night.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's meant to pay homage to Kiss and Tell, of course, when Laura lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: It finds out that Dean and Roy Kiss and she invites Dean over and they watch Willy Wonka in the chocolate factory, which is the first movie on my list of recommendations of kind of [SPEAKER_00]: Not so much movies that the girlies would watch.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are some on this list.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I wanted to also pick like comfy cozy movies that feel like Elmer Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't necessarily like you were saying before, always align with the things that they watch.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like love willy wonka in the chocolate factory.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it does kind of give that like fall vibe in the sense that like candy is a very big part of fall with Halloween.

[SPEAKER_00]: Coming up so you can kind of like get those Halloween vibes without it being necessarily spooky.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's about candy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Me too, chocolate so much, but I like candy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I guess it's a chocolate factory, so we're going to have Hayley stay away, but But I think that like Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory to start is like a good [SPEAKER_00]: movie for the fall to kind of keep in line with Gilmore Girls, but other ones that I had on my list, of course you all know me and know this about me by now, but when Harry Metzali is my favorite movie.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, but I feel like it's a very like comfy cozy Gilmore Girls vibe because it's a friend's to lovers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Beem?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so you can kind of like, I don't know, it's kind of like running parallel to some of the themes that have been in Gilmore girls, which I love.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's so funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: Christy watched that movie the other day and she said she watched it for the first time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she told me that she felt like it was more of like, [SPEAKER_00]: a holiday movie, less a fall movie, and I just thought it was so, yeah, because I'm New Year's Eve, which makes total sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know, there's just something about it that feels like the fall aesthetic.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think probably because of the poster, I was like, yeah, you can't look at the poster that movie and be like, how?

[SPEAKER_00]: Where does this, like, what's the vibe of this movie?

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel the same way about Gilmour Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: The opening credits are like that fall foliage.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then it has Gilmour Girls over it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like that's why, of course, vibes included.

[SPEAKER_00]: We feel like it's a fall show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because of Ryan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's like a fall subcategory.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like one hundred percent, which speaking of the next time I list is you've got mail.

[SPEAKER_00]: of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it means to love her of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a bookstore.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to save a bookstore.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's like a Mitch and Hunsburger character that's like coming in trying to take over.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Email is involved.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I remember when it was our man.

[SPEAKER_00]: So why 2K?

[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like that's so perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: It takes place in the fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's got like cozy vibes.

[SPEAKER_00]: But on the note, I feel like a lot of like comfy cozy vibes don't always go with like spooky vibes.

[SPEAKER_00]: But something that for me is like a comfy spooky vibes movie is practical magic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's like sisterhood and like [SPEAKER_00]: female camaraderie and like it's got like the magical vibes in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's kind of perfect for your fallie watch because I feel like the girl is with love with the magic surprise that it wasn't in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that we know of.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they watch so many movies.

[SPEAKER_00]: They watch so many things that it's kind of hard to keep up.

[SPEAKER_00]: But kind of keeping in the theme of like, I don't know if fall cozy vibes, something you mentioned was a little women.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, the Greta Gerwig version, of course.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like I just, I love that so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, it's just like such a classic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And especially that version of it is just like so, like I was telling you the day I watched it without the sound on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just one of those movies that like, you know, like you don't really need it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You just like already know what's happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: You just sit and cry over, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: silently.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel that way about when Harry Met Sally, I was on an airplane.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say recently.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't our trip back to Denver.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it was the trip to Denver, but someone was watching it like diagonally in front of me, and I could hear it, even though I couldn't hear it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't remember where to that movie.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I mean, that's being Gilmore girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: Titanic, too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Titanic, you jump high, jump jack.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the thing is is that I put movies on here that I feel also fallen line with like the titles of some of the episodes like whole fiction.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, whole friction.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know that that's necessarily like.

[SPEAKER_00]: fall vibes, but it is kind of go more girls vibes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that is a movie the girl is probably watched a thousand times up-down in sideways.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the other one that I picked that kind of falls in line with that is the shoot horses don't they, which is a play-on words for the title they shoot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gilmors don't they, which of course is one of the most popular episodes of this entire good series.

[SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: The themes of it kind of run parallel as we described like I haven't seen the movie I know you haven't seen it either, but I've seen lots of clips of it and it is Spooky yuki.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or it's like Psychological thriller and I feel like thriller is very in line with fall Maybe not necessarily like cozy fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah But I don't know I put it I threw it on the list.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have to keep it there, but like [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it would be like wiggle its way in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I'd be curious to watch it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it would be like I said, like, I want to wrap myself in a blanket and watch on the shoot or it's maybe wrapped myself in a blanket and like pull it up up of my eye.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: The other one that I put on here that I just feel is so Gilmore Girls is Fiddler on the roof.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amy's from Melody, you know, loves, that she loves Fiddler on her way.

[SPEAKER_01]: So much that she put the musical in the show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's Kirk.

[SPEAKER_00]: and his wagon with the wheel that's broken.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why that feels like fall to me, but it fully feels like fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think we discussed this when we revisited an on a matter on our Patreon recently.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I remember saying that I felt like Jews and Chinese food was a fall episode because Fiddler on the roof for some reason feels like fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it feels like it's like the fall musical.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're prepping at school, you know, like getting everything ready, like that just kind of like, that feels like an essential part of fall, like totally going through college.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that's kind of what it feels that way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could totally see that.

[SPEAKER_00]: The other one that I put on there is Pippi Longstocking.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah!

[SPEAKER_00]: I would literally never watch it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I would either, but I feel like maybe for cozy night and if you're looking for something that's like, I don't know, old school.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're looking for an older movie, some never feels kind of classic.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's definitely old.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't mean to yuck anyone's yuck like if you want to if you like that movie totally But I I watched it once and that was plenty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you I see.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've never seen it I am a pibi virgin so Okay, yeah, that's the only thing dinner I have in common That's not true That's not true, but yeah, I think that I might you know I might recommend it to a friend if they're looking for a girl's rewatch The thing is that like it was really hard for me to not put [SPEAKER_00]: Things on this list that were like the godfather Billy Jack like movies.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know a star is born But like and Luke.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes cool hand Luke, but like do those things feel cozy?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know do all of the things that I put on this list feel cozy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I also don't know Yeah, the only addition I'm going to make to this is another English Herman Paladino slash Dan Paladino [SPEAKER_01]: like adoration.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, is Lord of the Rings.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_01]: They referenced that so many times.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're like lying down.

[SPEAKER_01]: Always going to watch it at the movie theater.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's an entire episode that's titled the Hobbit, the, as you like to call the Hobbit, the couch in Jason.

[SPEAKER_01]: the hovered the sofa and digger styles yeah i have to say it wrong first to get it right because i can never remember if couch or sofa's right um i can remember all the other ones but that one always gets me i love the rings is definitely totally a faves yeah no i totally add that but i don't know which one [SPEAKER_01]: Probably all of them, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's only three, but they're long.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but if you're not watching the extended, like, additions, they're still really long.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe have a lot of marathon, because I feel like as we go into our next segment of like a movie night, it's like the snacks, and I feel like if you're gonna sit down and watch all of the Lord of the Rings movies, you're gonna have a different sort of, [SPEAKER_00]: food like spread then you're going to like if you're just watching practical magic you know have some marks and some popcorn for the girlies but if you're going in for like the full movie marathon that's true you really got to hunker down i feel like for that i'd need like pizza [SPEAKER_00]: And that mac and cheese.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is that when Sucy made that mac and cheese?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's a bowl of mac and cheese for lower-rise birthday Oh, when Sucy made the ring party.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, when Sucy makes that like it's like a pesto cream sauce mac and cheese jalapeno Yeah, I totally get down with that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean the fuck up like I know you mac and cheese is not really your jam But as a cheese lady myself, that's how it's so good [SPEAKER_00]: If I was a kid and I looked at that, I would be like, get away from me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I, you cannot pay me like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm a kid.

[SPEAKER_00]: I need money.

[SPEAKER_00]: I broke.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm poor.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it also reminds me of when, uh, it's literally a birthday, and there's that, like, bowl of mac and cheese that they're eating from.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, so maybe like that kind of vibe.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's just you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe bowl of mac and cheese.

[SPEAKER_01]: If it's with a friend, maybe two forks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so you equivalent of like two straws in a milkshake.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Two forks in a bowl of mac and cheese.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I also feel like pizza is like a very, like, shareable situation.

[SPEAKER_00]: My grandma used to say that pizza was a snack growing up.

[SPEAKER_00]: My mom was like, no, it's dinner.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a meal.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it falls on a spectrum.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like I would have it there as maybe a quote-unquote snack.

[SPEAKER_00]: But something that fills you up because you're hungered down.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're watching three Lord of the Rings movies.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're there all day.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a movie night or a night marathon day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, couple, you're going to be there for quite some time.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like get your snacks ready.

[SPEAKER_01]: But if we're just doing like a short, maybe you just want a movie, I'm going to do some stovetop popcorn with some candy thrown in.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm going to put some nice toppings on it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll make a little sweet or maybe I'll have a little savory option.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll put lemon pepper on popcorn.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, see, I like to put cinnamon on my popcorn.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes a little cayenne, a little spicy, a little kick, yeah, cinnamon and cayenne together.

[SPEAKER_00]: I also put cinnamon and cayenne on my sweet potato fries.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when I make them, oh, it's very yummy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some of those sweet potato fries we had with the honey.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was so honey would be on popcorn.

[SPEAKER_00]: Probably very good.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have to try it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like I love a savory and sweet option.

[SPEAKER_00]: So like, [SPEAKER_00]: Pizza, popcorn, mac and cheese, but then I also got to have my sweets.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I sometimes have put popcorn with M&Ms or popcorn with like low gummy bears.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, something, something like a little savory.

[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of both.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I have to have like red vines or twizzlers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I teeter between the two, cause it depends on which consistency I want.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I know that some people don't really get down with red vines because the consistency of them are like very different as good when I try to Yeah, I like a twizzler better.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I prefer twizzler also a twizzler probably doesn't have gluten in it But they both have gluten.

[SPEAKER_00]: They do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I remember when you had the red vine at her I know when I was gluten free and I was like [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I was already sick.

[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't why that's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we were like, did I tell you a little bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did I do it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Was it me?

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but speaking of our Gilmour Valentine, I feel like we had a lot of things.

[SPEAKER_00]: There for the making of a good like Gilmour Girls movie rewatch.

[SPEAKER_00]: Snack assortment like we had.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: dessert sushi, king-sized candy bars, we had pop tarts, which were really good.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which like that's why I feel like pop tarts are like more of like a snack.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're meant for like these like movie moments kind of like as a candy.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see it as a breakfast food the way that the girlies do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I can go either way with that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I never ate it for breakfast.

[SPEAKER_00]: I always ate it as like a dessert or a snack.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, snack dessert.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, pop-tarts are a snack dessert, but you were saying that you really like the mini pop-tarts and I do too Yeah, I think that's the better ones.

[SPEAKER_01]: They go margarals would hate them because you only get like five in the little box Yeah, I feel like it kind of like adds a click the size of one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so too But maybe that's why they don't like them [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know that they were there in their early 2000s, but definitely not.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're like a pretty new development.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but the other thing that I, they've kind of grown on me, but my mom is obsessed with Malamars.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, oh my gosh, I put together like Malamars, like the, the, the spelling out, happy birthday.

[SPEAKER_01]: Laura Lye, I did that for, I guess Gilmore Grilly Girls TikTok and I talk about her like she is someone who's not me, but like the account, it was like the birthday so I spelled it out [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like I don't really love them, but my sister she ate all of them like I really got boxes and boxes and boxes of them and she just for like a month Which just go in and like have a couple every day.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that she was like where'd your cookies go?

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like you ate all of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know where my cookies went.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that would be my mom.

[SPEAKER_00]: My mom loves Malamar's, but the boxes are usually really expensive.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just got a box at my grocery store, only because they were on sale.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, how Gilmore knows.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I can give them to my mom.

[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a present.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm more of like an Oreo girl myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't ever see the girlies eat like cookies other than like anything Sukey makes or a Malamar.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel that's fair.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think that's true and they don't really [SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen them sell cookies at Westerns either.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mmm, it always get, like, delicious like cakes, rumbles, maybe a piece of pie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't sell cookies.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: They check in on that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: The other component to it is that they drink a lot of coffee.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not going to drink coffee at a movie night.

[SPEAKER_01]: Movie morning, movie afternoon, but not on a movie night.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll drink coffee with like my morning television.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's really it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like, we're all drink coffee like going on a walk, but a movie night coffee at night to me scares me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a coffee night girl.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can be apparently like a coffee in the morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, caffeine really gets me.

[SPEAKER_01]: It really does, me too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm gonna do more of like a, you know, sparkling water or Dr.

Pepper, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: You love a Dr.

Pepper.

[SPEAKER_01]: A big Dr.

Pepper, really.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or like a seasonal drink, I wanna get more into like mocktails.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love a mocktail.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I love?

[SPEAKER_00]: It is alcoholic, but you can also probably get it non-alcoholic.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many non-alcoholic options right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I love them, because I'm drinking less and less.

[SPEAKER_00]: I maybe have one when I'm out a cider.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love an apple cider, apple cider non-alcoholic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I just got some apple cider from my farmer's market, which is where I have these really beautiful flowers behind me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love them.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're so stunning.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: the very Gilmore Sunflat.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know, they're perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I got a little apple cider from this apple orchard that is always there every Sunday.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is it honey crisp or is, I think, so specify it didn't specify apple juice or apple cider is the best kind.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know what are the kinds.

[SPEAKER_01]: There are, but like I remember trying it for the first time, like whole foods has like juices.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I like made my whole family taste it and they were like, yes, more.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, honey Christ is probably I would argue, I'm no expert, but I would argue that that's like probably the best apple to juice.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, or to cider.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are not apple experts.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are not.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I love like an apple cider.

[SPEAKER_00]: I also love a hard cider.

[SPEAKER_00]: Back at home, we have this bar that we would frequent all the time when I was in college I love it so much I still go whenever I can and they used to do this thing where they would take Crispin hard cider and they would put in a cinnamon sugar rimned ice cold glass and that to me is fall So like I also love Down East cider I don't know if you've ever had that it is so unmatched.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's sweet.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're regular hard cider is great.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're pumpkin cider [SPEAKER_00]: Mm.

[SPEAKER_00]: No notes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: No notes.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the other thing is like you can like make your movie night kind of themed at all know, like, you know, get some pumpkin, flavored things, some cider, put some cinnamon sugar on the rim for your pals or for yourself.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like you don't have to have your friends coming over.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can do these nice little setups for yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Have that nice little movie aesthetic?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love setting up a movie night for myself and all that's why I will go and get like, [SPEAKER_00]: Like hard cider and I'll do the cinnamon sugar ram and I'll just like sit there drink my drink my drink Yeah, I watch my Gilmore girls or watch my rom-com and just I don't know just have like a nice cozy night in It's not a must for me, but it is just like a little extra something that makes it feel Super cozy and for some reason I don't do that any other season the cinnamon sugar them with the cider Other than like fall maybe maybe a little bit in the winter if I need like yeah, I'll pick me up [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but other than that drinks for me, I'm not really like a soda drinker, but I'll drink like the occasional, um, Coke or Pepsi.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's usually like, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: water.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a, I'm a, I'm a sulfur girly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love club soda.

[SPEAKER_00]: Clips it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love the cry.

[SPEAKER_01]: Little lacroye.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know how much I love that line.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that for me is more like, if I think of comfy cozy beverages, I'm thinking like a tea.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want a coffee, but maybe a tea.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a tea.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like a try.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people love the tea.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's really more about the [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the spread.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but that's our cozy movie night more Gilmore Girls rewatch night.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, whatever you're watching, this is the spread for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the next on our list is, go bookstores shopping or browse your local library.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which I love.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like there's something like so just like cozy about like, you know, putting on a cute little outfit, get in your tote bag, I've got it in a coffee, walking around the bookstore, maybe having a plan, maybe letting the universe guide you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, getting nothing, maybe just that's the whole activity.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I also love supporting your local library because your librarian is going to have amazing recommendations.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to know old books that you probably haven't read or new releases, probably going to be able to be like, I liked this book and give you some more recommendations.

[SPEAKER_01]: But if you are a part of art cook club or you are not, if this is a good place to push it, because we have some spooky books coming up for October.

[SPEAKER_00]: And no, which I love.

[SPEAKER_00]: You talked about this on our last episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we're reading spells for forgetting by Adrienne Young and Rebecca by Daphne Demorea for our two book clubs, which is kind of how I am guiding the breakdown of [SPEAKER_01]: book recommendations for like reading a sexy books that feel like you're more girls and like more of like contemporary books and then we have books that worry might read literary fiction memoirs and kind of like splitting them like that because I feel like the subcategory of like book shopping going to your library is kind of like having like a plan for your reading fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're like me and it's like essential to your being, even when you want to have like a little plan for it, then maybe this is something to get into, or if you're just getting back into reading or you don't read a lot, maybe this, like, sort of, it's a good guide to, you know, find some new things to read or, you know, if you're not reading dozens of books a month and you're just a couple, you know, you can pick and choose.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like it's like having like a direction of like read about small towns because, [SPEAKER_01]: This is a small town show.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Diving back into a back catalog of an author that you already love and finding all of the books and really getting to know them, exploring new authors, authors you've heard of and you like want to figure out what they're about or why people are loving them, reading old favorites, like I feel like fall is a perfect time to like dive back into you know cozy favorites and then stocking up on fantasy reads because I feel like fall is [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like the comeurs are watching what are the rings.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just can't help but imagine that there's some sort of fantasy reading going on I don't know if I gave her galski immediately comes to mind and like him and him and Brian are like reading fantasy novels in my mind I love that for them [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, throw that, throw that idea.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have some like options for all of those categories for if you want books.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you like your more girls or if you want books that are like more like contemporary romances and then ones that fit into Rory.

[SPEAKER_01]: So books about small towns.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have the Dead Romantics by Ashley Passen, which is a little bit like I've just got some ghosts in there, but it's like Good ghosts and everything's everything's fine everything's up beat We love the ghosts got Juniper Hill by Deveny Perry.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're a small town.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a small town that a single mother with a baby arrives to and befriends the restaurant owner in town [SPEAKER_01]: So we've got Georgie all along where these two characters come back to their their home town one of them Who he was a bit of a bad boy when he was there, but now he's cleaned up his image a bit and then we have a girl Who went out into the world and did what she thought she wanted to do but came back and realized that might not have been what it was that she wanted to do So a little bit of a connection there and then what you will [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then talking about when Harry Met Sally and you've got mail.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like two books for those is a book I haven't read yet It's new.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's called you again by Kate Goldback and she apparently paid homage to when Harry Met Sally with this book.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and [SPEAKER_01]: Um, one of my friends went to a book event of hers and she's really a big humor girl's fan.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they were like, you need to read them so I'm gonna add that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the other one is book lovers by Emily Henry.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's set in a small town.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're saving a bookstore.

[SPEAKER_01]: They communicate a lot over email.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I mean, come on, very you've got mail.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also another person who says that they were raised on Nora Ephron.

[SPEAKER_01]: and Gilmore Ross, so it's like she's perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like she could fall into like diving into a bat category or like a bat catalog of an author because she also has a lot of YA romances that are really good.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you've exhausted all of her adult ones or if you haven't read her, she's a good new author.

[SPEAKER_01]: or maybe she's an old favorite of yours, and she can kind of fit into all of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because a new author of mine that I want to explore is B.K.

[SPEAKER_01]: Borsan, who writes seasonal romances, don't read the winter one because maybe we're doing that one in December, but she has a she's a town called Love Light Farms, and she has summer spring and winter out and fall, [SPEAKER_01]: But maybe some new to you authors that I feel like you might love is Kennedy Ryan, who writes really dramatic well-paste romances.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Kingmaker series is a little bit like if you love Olivia and fits from scandal.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, did I do?

[SPEAKER_01]: Perfect book for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that show.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to dive into that one.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's literally sitting right in front of me and then the other one is real By Kennedy Ryan and it's about an actor and a director and I that one's my favorite of hers But another is all of the Blake who wrote a book called alone with you in the ether and I know that we You've seen like like what is your Roman Empire like yeah, I think that's my Roman Empire Every day that's like my Roman Empire is like that book is like [SPEAKER_01]: kind of fits into any time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But she also has like like dark academia books.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's called Atlas 6.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that's very fall feeling.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but then like old favorites.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that's so like personal like whatever your favorites are just dive into them.

[SPEAKER_01]: The practical magic is a book.

[SPEAKER_00]: So like I'm telling you off-man, great cozy, magical, mystical, spooky, a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I could have like had like a book recommendation for each of your review recommendations, which like, which I love.

[SPEAKER_01]: That one's easy because that was based on the fact that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then I'm so convinced that like fall is a time to read fantasy, which are November pick.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say is going to be divine rivals by Rebecca Ross, which is a fantasy about two writers.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that is going to be a lot of fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I like kind of tried to find out more about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: like to go into a book kind of blind, but I did hear that she has a single mother and he has an overbearing father who is really well-being.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like see what happens there, excited to find out, but then some books fantasy books that I'm diving into will be six of crows by Lee Wardugo, Jade City by Fondalee, [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm finally going to read fourth wing, which I know doesn't mean anything to you, Tara, but like it's been like the biggest fantasy novel of the year has been that and so I'm like interested to see how I feel about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a kind of like the really contemporary choices.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then for Rory, I feel like how by Alan Ginsberg, which is like the book that just steals, I mean why not?

[SPEAKER_01]: Good night, Dodger.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: exactly, but when I looked at a book that came up next to it was the Holy Barbarians by Lawrence Lipton, and I was like, why does that sound familiar?

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the book that Rory Book Teases in Swanson.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, so like maybe you want to be a little bit of a book tease with someone.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and [SPEAKER_01]: take that one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then they're really the classic ones like Jane Air, little women, prime prejudice, because like before you went to invite Jane Air to her birthday party.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: But in terms of like back catalog, new authors and faves, in terms of authors that I want to dive into this fall is like Dorothy Parker, because I feel like that is so essential to get them a girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Amy, Dorothy Parker, Drankyre Productions is literally the name of Amy's production company.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Also, Joan Didion, because I've read Blue Nights, Sauchy and Trois Bethlehem, and the year of magical thinking, which Rory is reading in of In Your Valentine, when Lorely sneaks into the room.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I feel like that's definitely one.

[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like one, Rory would be reading, and it's like that I want to get further into.

[SPEAKER_01]: But other authors that Rory might not have read, because they were not around at the time, that I want to get into, because I've read a couple of their books, but I would read more of them, are of Quang and Gabrielle Zeven, who wrote my favorite book.

[SPEAKER_01]: Last year, which is tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, yes, and then some new authors I want to explore are a, there's a book called Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo, who I really want to get into.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've never read a Zidi Smith before.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to read that this fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, there is a memoir by Maggie Smith called, you could make this place beautiful about the disintegration of her marriage and like stepping into herself and apparently it's very, [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I was like No, no, no, no, she's a poet.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and this is her memoir.

[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's another one that just came out by a debut author named Haley Jacobson And it's called Old Enough and it's kind of like a coming of age That I have heard such good things about that I really want to read [SPEAKER_01]: And so I feel like that's like a really broad, long list of books that you can choose from.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know you would come prepared.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have I have a little bit too many.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like I have more.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say we can totally like wittle these down and kind of pick maybe our top.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna post these on Instagram because yeah, we've got to so don't worry if you're trying to write them down You don't have to yet do not worry.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll also probably put like I can put a list of them in the show notes, too But like if you ever want to talk books and you want more recommendations That's what I said on the last one like if you don't like the picks that I've come up with and you're like give me another one Just come in my DNA.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to my boneogram totally [SPEAKER_01]: This is also a perfect time to start a bookstagram if you have been wanting to do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It really is because I feel like a call is like the cozy book girlie's rise, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you'll rise.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like these are such great options.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said this to you last week.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like you're so good at finding [SPEAKER_00]: things that feel like umurgrals like feeding into those tropes and like picking them out and placing us down right in front of the book that we need to read to feel that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Feel those feelings, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have a good morning to read episode coming up on Thursday.

[SPEAKER_01]: We came a lot through who was our August pick for reading a sexy and she loves Gilmour Girls so so much.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which I love.

[SPEAKER_01]: Coffins after midnight is like heavily inspired by Gilmour Girls is kind of like a jumping [SPEAKER_01]: So like I feel like that will also be a good continuation of like book chats.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I love that I'm so excited to hear it because I just love I love listening to you even if I've not read the book I love listening to you talk to authors because almost all of them like our girls fans that come on Yeah, and she's like oh true That's what you said.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love she said she's watched the parties over like 50 times.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so you guys got along so willingly [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, so it wasn't like she just liked it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like she is a fan.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's like love.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that What a perfect guest to come on now?

[SPEAKER_00]: I love so the next one on our list that you put that I loved was take a fall foliage walk Which I mean is a mustering fall, but I also added to that in the style of Gilmore girls and said take a tour of a perspective or former college because I feel like collegiate life [SPEAKER_00]: and like the prospect of college is so Gilmour Girls and it's so cool, like when they do the road trip to Harvard fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: When in let the games begin, when they go to Yale fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: birthday of y'all, fall, fall, Ted Coppola's big night out, fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like, for some or, but it's fall, but it feels like fall and I feel like, I don't know, some of my memories from like, going to school, like back to school, feel so fall, like walking around my old campus, my alma mater, that is totally fall vibes to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: So like, whether you're a student and you're looking into going to a school and you're taking a tour or, [SPEAKER_00]: you are in college right now and like you're in that space where the leaves are kind of turning and you get to walk around the corner and just kind of like take in the air.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's really nice.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can find a study tree that perfectly fits your back.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise don't worry about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise don't fit your back.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But then there's also like, I don't know visiting your alma mater and walking around.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or again, just taking a nice walk.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a really beautiful fall foliage kind of event.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's like a greenway near me that you can kind of like walk through like a paved sort of like woods.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which is nice, but like also just walking around your neighborhood.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, like put it on a little scarf.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or like if it's really warm where you live, just put on some fall colors.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like a nice burnt orange or brown.

[SPEAKER_00]: tanked off.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just really getting the fall spirit with that burnt orange tank top.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just like walk around like, like, your playlist is important or listen to an audio bug.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, you said something really quiet while we were talking about this yesterday that in like in the year 2023, Roy would totally walk around Starves Hollow listening to an audio bug.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like the idea of like it reminds me though of like Dean describing where we're reading Moby Dick in the pilot when he's like watching is going wrong when he did admit to stalking her Which red flag immediately.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think it's cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: Please just kind of pay attention to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um [SPEAKER_01]: But she talked about like the chaos going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we're just kept reading.

[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like that idea Like worry has her audio book on and she sees it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's completely tuned out from it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like on her face.

[SPEAKER_01]: Around Taylor's hovering over him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Luke has his fist raised just or a fine pan on something.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she's just got her audio book on.

[SPEAKER_01]: She got a little scarred just walking around town.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she has a Western's coffee.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love her lanes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But speaking to kind of the audio of it all, last year we both built out playlists, um, stars Halloween mixed tape, if you will, because I do feel like Gilmore Girls, of course, me spoke to this, like music is a character in and of itself that really helps to have the story in kind of music episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Put you in that, that mood for Gilmore Girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: So there are a lot of songs that are at least on my list.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know there are on yours too that feel like Gilmore Girls [SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't include this in my Star's Hall of Mixtape.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know you included stuff that like, again, feels like Gilmore Girls, but isn't necessarily in the show.

[SPEAKER_00]: For me, music that kind of puts me in that spirit outside of the Carol King and the Laws, you know, there she goes and all of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, I could put that on and it could be, [SPEAKER_00]: Spring time or the dead of winter and I'm like it's fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then she appears.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god There are so many good ones, but for me outside of that I love listening to like Mumford and sons in the fall the civil wars I will always love listening to Carol King.

[SPEAKER_00]: It just always feels like we're wrapped up in a hug But that's kind of [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: The best album, his older albums, love him.

[SPEAKER_00]: That man's voice could put me to sleep in the best way.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, in narrowing my life, he's my talent.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, he would be such a good town troubadour.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, we should talk about that in the future about like an updated town troubadour and who would fit the vibe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jason Moraz would really fit the vibe.

[SPEAKER_00]: The guitar, his voice is kind of, [SPEAKER_00]: that melodic, like, narration, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, how's your, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, less, like, sing to me every day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's on my list, but I, I might add him to my, my playlist, I might need to update it because like, I have like, of course, like, red Taylor's version.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what is more than else who, well, the five minute version or the 10 minute version, whichever you prefer.

[SPEAKER_00]: No red is a very fall album.

[SPEAKER_00]: I also have folklore is like my end of summer into fall album, it kind of usher to me like in between seasons, because of course it came out in the summer time, but it just was, yeah, I don't know, like cardigan feels very fall hard again, hey, yeah, I don't know, it's kind of like a cusp.

[SPEAKER_00]: out of them for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I will say if you're on, if you're streaming that and you're not watching it, I am wearing Taylor Swift's card again and I just referenced that and that's what that was about.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I forgot that there are people who can see us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yep, got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what else is on your fall playlist?

[SPEAKER_01]: post-malone, of course, because I just, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can skip that if you, because we'll put our playlist in the description.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'd say, Tara said that you can skip that on mine if you want to.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like, Hozier, Brandy Carlyle, I really love.

[SPEAKER_01]: I also like, something about like country music always feels very summer to me, but if it's sad, [SPEAKER_01]: It feels like fall and I feel like some of there's some of like Casey Musgraves music that like I love and the fall, like her new album Star Cross, like there's something about some of those songs.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh my gosh, I didn't put that together.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a song called Justified and I don't know why but it just feels so fall to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but yeah, you can check out either of our playlists.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll link them in the show and we'll include a lot of Taylor Swift.

[SPEAKER_01]: But also, we're mostly not.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like sprinkled in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but also you can build your own fall playlists.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like mine is exclusively Gilmore Girls Music.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any of the Mumford and Sons or like other Carol King songs that I would put on here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't have any of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you go on to know a con completely forgot about him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sticks season.

[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's another, that's another really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have some like songs that feel like fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a song called Heavy by Bird Talker, that for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love that song.

[SPEAKER_00]: Love that song.

[SPEAKER_00]: When I put that on, I am instantly transported to like 2018.

[SPEAKER_00]: I remember like renting a car and going on a long drive.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had just like broken up with this guy that I really liked.

[SPEAKER_00]: And my friends were sending me like, [SPEAKER_00]: You know, fall music, but also like things that would make me feel better, but would also allow me to like feel my feels and heavy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I am instantly transported to like driving through cold spring, New York, which is like the epitome of fall in like the Northeast and just like, Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_00]: Listening to heavy, it was just so.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would actually be on my playlist.

[SPEAKER_01]: Really?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that song.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that too.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Another one that we could add that like is not necessarily, I don't remember if the song was in Gilmour Girls, but it was Neil Young, which is Harvest Moon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: What a like that song.

[SPEAKER_00]: Was that song in Gilmour Girls?

[SPEAKER_00]: I know they talk about Neil Young.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hard of gold, my ass.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I think for the most part mine is all [SPEAKER_00]: Gilmore girls, music, and Gilmore girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I know that yours kind of has that like, those other things we'll buy to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you guys can build your own and if you do tag us, I'd love to see them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd love to see them.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love when people send me their like character playlists, like a lot of people send me like if they have a Rory and Logan playlists.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I love them.

[SPEAKER_01]: I always listen to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't think they go on notice.

[SPEAKER_00]: She notices trust.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But speaking of playlists, I think the next on our list, [SPEAKER_00]: obvious in the best way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Take a road trip with your best friend or your mom or by yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I love driving by myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Haley and I both talked about this recently that we could both like start a podcast just with the thoughts that we have in the car.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I actually do talk out loud like I'm in a podcast as do as well.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like it has an influence with myself.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I'll bring on guests.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it is always me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am all I am also always the guest.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am also the guest.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that so much But we're about to take a fall road trip together.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're about to do like the ultimate Gilmore girls road trip Which I'm gonna save all of the things that we are going to do for the footage that we take while we're doing it because we're definitely gonna take videos [SPEAKER_00]: a little hot and yeah, it's going to be so much fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gilmore to vlog.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gilmore to vlog, I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be a new adventure for us, but hopefully it'll work out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have some very specific pit stops that I cannot wait to take and we're going to travel through Connecticut and up through like Cambridge.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think we talked about this already.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like Hartford came bridge, Portsmith, and then ultimately land in a Gunkwit for fan fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we're taking the ultimate Gilmour Girls Road Trip, which I'm very excited about.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to take a certificate.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I've never been.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't help the room.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I've never been.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God, we're gonna have so much fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I'm not much.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do feel like the fall foliage, like I can't tell if it'll be like in full swing quite yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: end of September is kind of tough and also global warming.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have to make a call.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have to make a phone call because I want the leaves I will do that can.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will say that like already here in New York they're like starting to change so I have a feeling that like over the next 10 days.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't change here too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Really?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just send you a picture to the entrance of my neighborhood and it's like they're all changing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh wow.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like it kind of sad when they change because I'm like well that means that [SPEAKER_00]: They're about to fall off and then it's going to be fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I also get really excited.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm really excited for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm excited to take you through Connecticut.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to show you parts of me and myself and growing up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to be in Litchfield.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: That will be fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but it places that you can stop at in like a general sense on your road trip.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're not going to go to New England this fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to go to New England.

[SPEAKER_00]: Have a road trip with your best friend or with yourself or with your mom.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can just go drive around.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like maybe having some intention to it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like even if it's like you want to go to a bookstore that's like an hour away or you want to go to a town that has a gazebo that's a little bit further away and you want to slowly make your way there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like there's so many things you can do.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can find a cute little coffee shop and try their seasonal beverage.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or you could stop at a local diner and like try out and see what's going on there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the proprietor is very kind or maybe they are very grumpy.

[SPEAKER_01]: you could find out who's to say yeah but like maybe like find a cute little town to go to maybe they have like thrift stores or bookstore yeah just like maybe there's a farmer's market you know just drive through some woods maybe find a nice little like maybe just like drive clear into the forest [SPEAKER_00]: Just like drive.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just keep going.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just become a witch in the woods.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, some of us really want to do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just told my therapist, that's what I wanted to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she told me I could be a witch in the woods on the weekend.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I love that for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we can't switch.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe a week in which.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, or just like, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like finding like a nice sort of like tree line to path to drive.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it always feels very cozy.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I love that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whether by yourself, because I feel like doing things like this, like by yourself and like having like an intention behind it is really fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or you know, grab a friend, get your mom, or your dad, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you can do it through dad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're just saying mom because mother thematically.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next we have throw a fancy Friday night dinner, you know, like make a nice little dinner for you and your friends or throw friends giving.

[SPEAKER_00]: because I feel like a deep fried Korean Thanksgiving is like, yes, very thematic for fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: But also, we want to throw in like a nice, I don't know, kind of like, booze right in, I dinner, be fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's like the split of like having like a very Gilmore night versus having like a very star's hollow time because you can like make your friends feel obligated to dress up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I serve them some martinis, make a pot roast, you know, do a monotermist salad.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, no, no, let's back up a little bit, take two.

[SPEAKER_01]: But don't murder mystery coming soon to the podcast, perhaps.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then the friend's giving that so nice to just have like, you know, make food.

[SPEAKER_00]: have a bunch of people over or you know just like one friend or two friends have it keep it really low key totally totally there's no like right or wrong way to throw a friend's giving I feel it's so funny because Brett and I were talking about Thanksgiving this year it's his favorite holiday [SPEAKER_01]: And last year that's so Blair Waldorf of him.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he is Blair Waldorf.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll make sure to tell him that he's going to love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But thanksgiving's his favorite holiday and last year we didn't get to spend it together because he was out on a contract.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this year we get to be together for first Thanksgiving.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I would, I like to go home and be with my family because they're so close.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he traditionally, because he's far from his family, does friends giving every year.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's so sacred to him that he was like, yeah, both.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, yeah, of course we can do both.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like, friends giving is very sacred to him because they've built this like community.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel like it's giving like, Laura library and all of the things giving said they go to the kids sacred.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sookies, sacred, Luke's sacred, but they didn't really...

They were sacred because they were going to drop Luke's, but then they realized it was sacred to Luke.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they were like, oh, back up, I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like a friend's giving as kind of the perfect thing to do in the fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, leading up to that, just throw a pot like with your friends or invite them over for a nice dinner.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's so much fun to get dressed up at, be at home for some reason.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a nice, it's a nice, it's a nice, it's a nice, it's a nice, it's like a staycation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: So next on our list is Make Pumpkin Pancakes with Cinnamon Butter, very self-explanatory.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or go get Pumpkin pancakes with Cinnamon Butter at a diner.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I feel like a lot of diners.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know Denny's does it, isn't the hilarious?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or at least they used to.

[SPEAKER_00]: We used to go to dance all the time when I was in college and they had pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon butter It was so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you might have to do some recon on that one if you're not going to make them But eating Gilmore, Larissa, she has a recipe for them.

[SPEAKER_01]: She does You can head over there if you're going to make homemade one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you're going to get ambitious after your pumpkin picking because pumpkin picking is such a huge staple in [SPEAKER_00]: You know, just fall culture, I feel.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like if you're going to go pumpkin picking and like really do the thing, then you can make them into pumpkin in the table.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or yeah, you can do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can really, you know, get in the pumpkin pick.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's pumpkin pie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was thinking more of like you put the pumpkin in the middle of the table.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, while you made the store, but yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, Trader Joe's has amazing pumpkin pancakes.

[SPEAKER_00]: regular and gluten-free.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're unmatched.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's one of the things is like going to Trader Joe's.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like we can't really add that to the list because it's not necessarily Gilmore.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have a Lee considered buying my like fall Trader Joe's haul this morning, which I haven't done yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if I brought it here, we would have to do a whole separate episode just about Trader Joe's bonus episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I could.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could talk about it before.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cause that like is one of the things that feels like fall is like going to try this and getting your little fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they have so many good things, but amongst them is pumpkin pancakes and they have like pumpkin butter and I'm sure that they would make some sort of cinnamon butter or I think that they have cinnamon butter.

[SPEAKER_00]: country cropped up to make us they have like a store bought cinnamon better so you can just put cinnamon in the butter i think so but i don't know i'll see in the article lorissa might actually have like a legitimate recipe for it but yeah i just feel like the pumpkin pancakes for me every year are staple from trader jose not just because luke you know yes them but um i love yeah alternatively some pumpkin bread oh yeah anything pumpkin i feel is like [SPEAKER_00]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that would be good with cinnamon butter, too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, for sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: So next we have go thrifting or go to a town rummage sale or shop your closet Yeah, I love all good things to do all good sustainable in the fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean thrifting is something I do year round.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's something I discovered that I loved during the pandemic and like have never looked back [SPEAKER_00]: But there's something about thrifting fall clothes like Bret and I were talking about going to I'll train vintage here in New York to like get some really cozy fall sweaters and flannels and stuff that of course are like [SPEAKER_00]: also Gilmore girls staples.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the town rummage sale, an episode that feels like fall and yet is not like for me that's a comfy cozy episode for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know that that's like an anxiety inducing episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Contrary to interrupt us is like one of my now go episodes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but it's so good and a town rummage sale to me feels very fall because every year my town does like a town.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a town rummage sale but they call it something completely different.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but it's basically like the county fair, it's just more over like one giant tag sale.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have a fair at the end of the summer in the town right next to us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's called the Ridgewater Fair, but um, my summer yet at the end of the summer is an August.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but we host like a town rummage sale that like they've been taking donations for for the last like three weeks.

[SPEAKER_00]: and my mom when I was home the other day she was like putting bags together to bring over to the location where they are collecting and I was like man that was that was fall to me we would always go to this gosh I wish I could remember what exactly it's called but it is like a town [SPEAKER_00]: Tagsales feel like fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think that good Gilmore girls wear clothes that are very accessible in buying them thrift like when you're thrifting or just in general, like in your own closet.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they're wearing like big sweaters, turtlenecks.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people want to wear worries, pilot sweater.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And like that's one of my favorite like outfits is like, you know, like a big sweater with like a short skirt peeking out the bottom with tites and boots, like that's really like my idea [SPEAKER_01]: Because I feel like where he does a lot, where she'll wear like the pilot, the other pilot look is where she's bringing that red shirt with the black skirt.

[SPEAKER_00]: The red turtle neck that short sleeves so cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: So cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that look.

[SPEAKER_01]: They love a turtle neck those girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: They really do.

[SPEAKER_01]: They love, I would also say like a statement outerware because like they have their shirt bar, which like what is Gilmore girls without a quarter-rate shirt per jacket for real.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the, but Lorelei also has that jacket that she wears in [SPEAKER_01]: Loss and found that outfit that we like adore so much where she's wearing skirt with boots Yes, and like that's just like the classic one and worries version of it isn't will you be my lower like Elmore when she's fighting with Logan and Mitch and Moxon that outfit that she's wearing It's like a little kind of fordress.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's like for ease version of that outfit that I love so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah So I feel like it's super easy to dress like a Gilmore [SPEAKER_00]: It really is, they really wear a lot of staples.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, of course, they have quirky outfits.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, you will only find this on a Gilmour roll.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I also think that the big chunky sweater, the turtlenecks, the Sherpa jackets, the denim jackets, the jeans, because now flare jeans are back in.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I myself am a highway-stit girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, never do you follow rise, but like, bless Laura, like, you can get rise, but like, like, rise is like, hit her miss for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the rise is just, I'm so glad that that went out with why she came and I hope it never goes back.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, there are some people who can pull off a low rise.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so you don't give me wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you guys have probably seen a video that went viral of a girl on TikTok, doing Laura Lies outfits.

[SPEAKER_01]: Her name's Austin Paula and she's a friend of mine.

[SPEAKER_01]: who's like, she is a Canadian content creator and she wears low-riged jeans and they look amazing on her, plus her.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I just, I never would, but like, I totally understand.

[SPEAKER_00]: I fully get it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I fully get why you're rocking that because like, you can have like a hip hugger and it probably feels very comfortable.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas just for me, that's just not my style.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just on like where it hits me too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not gonna lie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not gonna lie to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like I feel like the other thing is like they wear a lot of graphic teas with long sleeve shirts under them or Laura Lydus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like super easy one to recreate.

[SPEAKER_01]: Something that they like neglect in the show is they do wear a lot of sweatshirts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they were a lot of things.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were more like zip-ups.

[SPEAKER_01]: Zip-ups, a little like hoodie?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like little, like, closely fitted.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like that was like, why two k, early 2000s style was like a small zip-up with a little hoodie.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why can I like so clearly see like pair of siltin?

[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's like my thoughts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like the little zig-zag-poh hoodie.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like, for me, fall is like sweatshirts.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like, all year round, I'm a sweatshirt girl.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're gonna start with the temperatures.

[SPEAKER_01]: We totally are.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that's the one thing that I like, [SPEAKER_01]: closet, I think I would add into fall, which is just like any kind of sweatshirt.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like thrifted ones.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, ones that have Taylor Swift's face on them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also true.

[SPEAKER_00]: Our merch.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't argue.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was much more sure, early until you and I started the podcast because I was starting to get really a lot of merch.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, I really like this.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's really nice to be able to just like throw on and kind of do your thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big sweater girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love and oversized sweater.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get one right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love the denim mini skirt or just like a mini skirt in general with the tights in the boots that is totally myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: A turtleneck, like a fitted turtleneck is so me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big blanket scarf girl and I love a beret.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh, a little hat, a little fun hat.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love like a close hat, too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Those are really fun for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of like pink hat.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that pink one she wears?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's it.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a no for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't really pull something like that offer, at least I haven't tried.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like a little close hat is something I like, but a berei.

[SPEAKER_00]: I really started to rock more when I was when I got my haircut.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, now that I have short hair.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like a beret with short hair.

[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: So cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the other part of that that I'll add to it is like maybe less thrifting.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is like the makeup that they wear.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, very like a terminal color.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like buried lips.

[SPEAKER_01]: They do lots of like lashes.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not like fake lashes, but it's more of like mascara.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like very simple makeup.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that's kind of wrive leaned lately because like, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: work from home.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's no reason to put on a ton of makeup and I feel like I used to like go to work full glam, like full face and makeup, but I just don't do that anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like there's so many looks that Laura like has like I love and she matches her eye shadow to her outfit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's like fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's a fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe that's a fun option for your Friday night dinner that you dress up with your friends.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, [SPEAKER_01]: Or, you know, just try something, you know, simple.

[SPEAKER_01]: Love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love doing a little brown eyeliner right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I also have the Ulta vicious trollip lipstick.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have it because I lost it, but I will do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I tried to hard to find it to where in this episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: You'll find it one day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or I will buy you a new one somewhere.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have it anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe on Poshmark or eBay or something.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, maybe.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like if you were like, don't give up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm really just encouraging you to find this.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, well, we'll find it for you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next on the list is make your space as cozy as a lower-rise house, which I think is so important for fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, for me, I love decorating for fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is not to knock anyone out there who is like bam, Halloween, or bam, weaves.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, because there's two people.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the Halloween people and like the fall cozy people and you can be the same No one hurts them, but I feel like they kind of divide.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and my mom was always a big decorator growing up I mean for any holiday like Labor Day.

[SPEAKER_00]: She would like dress the house up [SPEAKER_00]: like in little ways, like not in like an egregious way, but you know, she is a very like holiday driven lady.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas for me, like I like to keep my apartment having those like green tones year round, because I feel like it plays really well into cozy fall, because those autumnal colors can go well with green, springtime, because it's like florals go well with green.

[SPEAKER_01]: At summer time, because you can do like your white linens and everything, or Christmas, you just add a little bit [SPEAKER_00]: So like what I have for those of you who are watching us on YouTube.

[SPEAKER_00]: What I have behind me is very like autumnal like I have this candle here, which is like a very set up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very aesthetic.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got these.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got these from the farmer's market on the other day, and I was like perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is like really ushering me into like the fall season.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I love a, I love like a sea salt caramel, so like this green bowl over here.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to put like caramel's in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really excited about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what it feels.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not candy corn lady.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you a candy corn lady?

[SPEAKER_01]: Not even the little pumpkins that look like they can like taste like candy corn, but they're pumpkins?

[SPEAKER_01]: No, because I don't know it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm all like candy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I know exactly what they're talking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, not my thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they're cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's the thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: They would just be there for decor and so like I don't want to waste them like if someone's gonna be done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Please come in you down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I might put like Reese's in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot to mention Reese's I love those in Reese's PCs, but I think that just like to keep everything neutral and also because I love C-cell Caramels.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's when I'm gonna put in that little bowl.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which would be really Halloween though.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like devil little candy I know exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, yeah, like maybe I'm the tricker tricker You were the candy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I In the tricker treaters.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't bring my own doorbell [SPEAKER_00]: Luna's going to open the door, they're a little pause.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, present the candy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very excited.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or she doesn't have the candy and it's a trick.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably a trick.

[SPEAKER_00]: Knowing Luna, it's definitely a trick.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the other way that I like to really set up is kind of with cozy pillows.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll change the covers for my pillows a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I also love like a big chunky knit blanket, which I'm probably going to get one for my couch.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is like a little bit of a thinner summer time throw.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love like a chunky knit throw or fuzzy throw for the holiday for like the fall season.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for the holidays.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, how low day is it?

[SPEAKER_01]: For the holidays.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, spooky.

[SPEAKER_01]: I like more of those really soft fleece ones from like home goods.

[SPEAKER_01]: My mom got one for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like my cup.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll show you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a little ghost on it that are like walking their dog.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's so filling a little wagon.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what my blanket looks like.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's not quite Halloween, but it is because it's ghost pink.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the other thing is candles like I let to turn off the big light, light a couple of lamps.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then just live by candlelight, whether it's like kind of like a musky one or like oak.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, like cedar or like a cider candle.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, those are nice.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like a spicy candle.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I just recently got, I moved it so that I could put my set up here.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I got like a leather and oak one, which smells so good.

[SPEAKER_01]: What is this one?

[SPEAKER_01]: I have one that is.

[SPEAKER_01]: leather and ood.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's dark academia.

[SPEAKER_01]: It smells like melancholy moods and secrets societies.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god I read that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So perfect for it's an animal from Barnes and Noble.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's so yummy.

[SPEAKER_01]: So nice.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the thing that I like to do is I don't light it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I put it under a candle warmer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have a candle on my eyes?

[SPEAKER_01]: It functions both as a lamp and melts the wax, but it doesn't burn it so it lasts for forever I've literally been burning this candle for like three weeks and like look at it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god I know it just doesn't disappear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's really nice.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I love it so much And I feel like that really creates like the nice ambiance Yeah, everything that's going on the other look that I love is I love to get roses and like [SPEAKER_01]: yellow or orange or red and then let them die and like clean out the water and put them back in the vase so you have like dried flowers yeah totally like dead roses just a bunch of dead roses yeah and you always like are you know there's a way and I'm like no part of the decor yeah I want everything's like dead dead flowers [SPEAKER_01]: The live flowers are very false to me, yeah, they're very light, especially when like bright yellow roses die, they become this like really wilted golden color.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, love, love, absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: So those are kind of some of the ways that we like to like cozy up our place, which I think is super important to set the tone, set the mood.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next on our list, we have volunteer for a local town event, including your best friends campaign for town select men.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think there are so many town events that like of course make everything feel like Elmore girls like that subsequently make it feel like fall like the bit of basket for me feels like fall even though it's a not a fall episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: But in the vein of fall it's like voting the campaign of course very fall when you know November exactly when Rory volunteers and is like dressed as a pilgrim and kiss and tell yeah [SPEAKER_00]: 24 hour dance is on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is that a food drive that she's doing?

[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.

[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't watched that episode in a while.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost time.

[SPEAKER_00]: It actually is.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the time this airs, it's time.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I feel like volunteering for your local town events feels like fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's just something about like the camaraderie of [SPEAKER_00]: you're like getting together with your town.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like the rummage sale, like it just feels like, oh, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or even if like you can't, like I guess like volunteers like participating, like if you're like, like if you're like a runner, doing like a 5K for a local charity, or something like that, or like finding, [SPEAKER_01]: Like I know my fair happens like in the middle of October and it's like so much fun, but they have charity nights.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like you're ticket, like part of your ticket price goes towards the local charity.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: But in that same vein like of like shopping your closet, maybe getting rid of some of your summer things or old fall things you're not going to wear this year and giving it to, you know, like there's a book of women shelter that we can donate to in my town and they come and pick it up so you don't bring it to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like finding things like that too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_01]: like making everything work for everyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, making everything as ball, like Gilmore Girls Ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next we have visit your local coffee shop, duh, duh, beg for coffee.

[SPEAKER_01]: Find out if they're grumpy or if they're nice and if they're nice, don't bother them.

[SPEAKER_01]: If they're grumpy, just beg for it and then pay for it anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: What would you say is your like go to fall drink?

[SPEAKER_01]: see it was a brown sugar latte with soy milk but I'm trying to drink less caffeine right now because it is making me anxious, anxious girly yes yes so I'm like trying to go more with like iced tea right now because it is still like 80 degrees in Georgia totally so I'm not sure what my like faltering is going to be [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I am, I do love like a little chamomile tea before bed.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, um, that's, I like that a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I used to love getting a chamomile tea from Starbucks with like steamed soy milk in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why that used to just like, really have the spot for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: I used to be like my go-to drink in college when I wasn't drinking coffee.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, also Mandy, she just got me one of like, um, what is it called as like when you steep the tea when you put the loose leaves.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, yeah, she brought me some loose like tea from like her share like bridal tea earlier this year before she got married.

[SPEAKER_01]: I really liked the tea for it because it sounded like a character I like from a book actually and she got it for me and she got me like a little thing to steep my tea and like individual tea cup.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like I'm excited to like, [SPEAKER_01]: Because fall for me feels like creating like night time rituals Like so it's like you know getting cozy and bad and like making yourself a cup of tea turning on your audio book making some bracelets Of course, Haley's be the opening Yes, it will be here.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like as soon as like this this got a lot of both say the sky sets As soon as the sunset sooner, you know, we'll have the full beater yarn.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that very little cup of tea So I feel like that's more of my fall vibe this year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love more of a tea [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think a tea is kind of perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know people like like a chatty latte in the fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am forever pumpkin spice girly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean like, I, oh, not wholeheartedly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know that it's like trendy to like pumpkin spice latte is.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like that though.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like that whole thing of like, I'm not like other girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, no, I am just like I'm just like all these other girls But for me, I really I've talked about this on pot at least on patreon I don't know if I've talked about it on here, but I'll talk about it again if I have I do not like Starbucks pumpkin I don't like it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like you pumpkin syrup.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take one little like [SPEAKER_00]: a little squirt of pumpkin in my little dust.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, in my don't mean donuts ice latte, which I got the other day.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was my first pumpkin latte of the season.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Always iced.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the coffee shop that I used to go to in Washington Heights actually Hamilton Heights called the Tipped Cup.

[SPEAKER_00]: They without a shadow of a doubt made the best pumpkin spice latte I've ever had in my life because they made on site a pumpkin ganache That they would like do they still make it?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know I haven't met there in a while now that I'm not living near there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have a fire.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of far to go for it is a pumpkin spice latte, but trust me I would [SPEAKER_00]: it's so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good like unmatched and so that's why I feel like I can't really actually enjoy other pumpkin spice latte.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's also probably one of those things like you probably would like the Starbucks one, had you not had one that was like so far superior because I think sometimes that's where that ends up being.

[SPEAKER_00]: Actually I have to be honest with you, I didn't like the pumpkin spice it Starbucks before this happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you're a Duncan girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Duncan girl when it comes to that kind of stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Starbucks girl for everything else.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like the pressure of milk, chicken, espresso is my jam.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But honestly, for me, I know milk latte with like a little bit of cinnamon on top if I want to be festive.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just, that doesn't work the hard time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're not drinking at black or with, what is it, three sponges, three sugars?

[SPEAKER_01]: What does the floor like puts in hers?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's three sugar.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's sugar, not Splenda.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it hurts the one that won Splenda.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, he won.

[SPEAKER_01]: Equal and he wanted ten of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: She puts it in his, yeah, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the next on our list is of course, go Apple picking.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what I added to that was go Apple picking and make cider ice cream in the ice cream machine that you anonymously got as a gift for the wedding you never had.

[SPEAKER_01]: Perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: We all got that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just remember it's pretty universal experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've all experienced that I just love when Suki goes we can make cider ice cream Like sure I didn't want it and then she didn't want it [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no sense to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, why did you say keep it so we can make side or ice cream if you already have an ice cream maker?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was like lusting after it, so I don't want it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she was like, it was that thing I like, I won't want to can't have and then when she could have it, she was like, no, I don't really want to have you for bin Apple picking?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I've never been because I think it's one of those activities that like it felt like you needed a lot of friends to go do it and then never had a bunch of people to go with.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to make my mom and my sister go with me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will say to my friends, it is more fun in a group.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I never, it doesn't feel like the kind of thing of like, I'm going to go by myself to pick some apples.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will say like the act of apple picking is not really the exciting part.

[SPEAKER_00]: When I go to an orchard to go apple picking, I'm more excited about going into the shop and getting like the apple butter, the pumpkin butter, like, yeah, that kind of stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: The apple cider donuts.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like the actual act of Apple pinging to me is not really that exciting.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's made to look more exciting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because we're taking pictures.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're having a good time.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the fall of aesthetic of it all, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: See, I like activities like that though where they're like really, really low key.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not doing much.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like really low pressure, really low stakes.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if there's a deal with the length of shopping for a book, but you're just picking apples, that's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's more about the aesthetic and the idea.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like the idea of going apple picking is so exciting to me, or even pumpkin picking.

[SPEAKER_00]: But like when you get there, I do feel like the joy of it all is the people that you're with and the company you give.

[SPEAKER_00]: And again, going to the store and getting the apple cider doughnuts and the pumpkin butter and the apple butter, less about actually picking out a pumpkin.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm off to go and I'm gonna come back and maybe I'm gonna be like this is the most exciting thing that's ever happened to me I had such a great time I would say that like some of the activities that come along with going to an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch like drinking cider Going on a hay ride like that stuff is fun which is fall which is very fall Springtime is not the time for hey.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you But next on our list we have tailgate at a sports game [SPEAKER_00]: local for your high school, a collegiate sports game, professional if you're really fancy like that used to say where the right color make sure you wear the right color yeah or just don't wear either of those colors yeah exactly or just wear something very neutral yeah but I like watching it up a load I love you know yeah yeah it's football season like bread is so exciting if you love football so like gets really into it but I do think that going to like a fall football game [SPEAKER_00]: is so on brand for Gilmore Girls Fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so much fun, like, as you know, I really like sporting events surprisingly.

[SPEAKER_01]: She loves really that activity.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love crowd participation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love the wave.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like she loves you.

[SPEAKER_00]: She loves you.

[SPEAKER_00]: She loves you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that about you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love seeing, and I love that you love the wave.

[SPEAKER_01]: Should we do it now?

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to know which one?

[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone at home does it too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead five, six, seven, eight.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wave.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just took that so seriously.

[SPEAKER_00]: Five, six, seven, eight.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wave.

[SPEAKER_00]: You look to mean dead in the eyes.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was a cheerleader moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was a haily getting ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's how we start all over it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's how we start all over it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is that why you got into [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, maybe I was the crowd, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got the crowd excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, that's funny.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's speaking of cheerleading, though, because my brother came over because I went to the University of Georgia, which is like the number one rank team right now, in terms of football.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like I live in like a really big football family.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we watch it and my brother came over for his birthday and we really was like asking them questions Like football cheerleader don't you know the rules and like yeah, but I stood on the sidelines facing the game And I couldn't see it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, because all of the full players are standing in front of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so when I like was like No, our coach would tell us what it was often through defense and they like you're that dumb and I was like [SPEAKER_01]: We can't see the this was no this was like bag of high school.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was not my family saying that's I was like book excuse me But I remember explaining it like in one of my classes and they're like you're so dumb that you don't know like you guys don't know What like who has the ball and it's like no Because I can't see the game.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because the football players follow the game I'm in the timeline while you're cheering and then also have to turn around and pay attention to the game And know the rules no I was a cheerleader for prop Warner football for many years like six or seven hours [SPEAKER_00]: I had no idea what was going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: I still don't.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've learned more in the last year from dating Brett about football than I ever did in like the six years that I was a cheerleader.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I like joke that I know a lot less than I do because like I've literally had to like watch like every single sport since I was younger Of course yeah, but it's not they were dumb.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not it's not even that we're not paying attention It's that like yeah, there's just so much activity going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm not going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah But like I also love sporting events because like all like with your team You all we're matching outfits.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah the same color like it's cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's cute the boys do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think they like put on the [SPEAKER_01]: they got their little jersey, they got their little favorite character on the back, you know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, it's cute, they watch sports every week, they put on the colors even if they're at home.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know, and it's a cool thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it feels very fall, especially football, like a football game just feels like fall, and especially when you were going to school, like the football season was in the fall, it was a very like, [SPEAKER_00]: group effort to you know and like the air was crisp.

[SPEAKER_00]: I used to love going to football games even though I had no idea It was going on in the fall when I was in high school.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love stuff like that and Ted Coppel's big night out I would argue that that's one of like the top fall-up episodes of season 4.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good one snacks talk about snacks like sport snacks So good so much fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love stadium snacks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, proud participation say stadium snacks and the wave.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that video [SPEAKER_00]: next on the list is go on a hike to reconnect with yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you a wild movie or wild book?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the answer to that question.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I should have added wild to the list.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, we could have added that to our book movie list.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've never read wild, but I have read other shale-strade books, which I should mention.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of the friends that we made at podcast movement has a podcast called We Can't Print This from two writers, slash journalist.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about things that like they can't put in the article, or the author didn't put in the book.

[SPEAKER_01]: We can't print this, but they're talking about on the podcast.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they're first guest for season two.

[SPEAKER_01]: Was Cheryl straight.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, she came on and was talking about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love not having her a podcast movement I know definitely check it out if you type it into Google or Instagram You'll be able to find it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We can't print this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, type it into Apple or Spotify and you can listen to a Cheryl straight, but in terms of book your movie, I haven't ever read that book, but I have seen the movie I suppose been [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I like oddly, I think I would pick movie just because I've never read the book.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I feel like I should be a book person.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say let's come back to it if and when you read the book because I think I would want to know like with you having a frame of reference for a book.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll come back.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll have to, I'll have to read the book and then watch the movie and then I will let you know Yeah, but people when I like I posted on my Instagram story last night, you know, like what is your favorite fall activity?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was nervous that I had forgotten something like something classic that people love to do in the fall and someone said go on a hike And I was like, oh my god, of course, go on a hike.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love I do love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's like a trail near here and like it's just so Yeah, especially in the fall the air is crisp.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like still a little more picnic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's really nice [SPEAKER_00]: And then the last one I have on my list is throw a little party and invite the whole town.

[SPEAKER_00]: Birthday party, a funeral for a cat, who's still in part to plan for?

[SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is hard to plan for, but like, you know, I know a lot of people have birthdays in the fall, but like whether you have a birthday or you don't, like this could also go hand in hand with like Friday night dinner friends giving.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like throw yourself a little party.

[SPEAKER_00]: yeah, and invite your friends.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or like maybe like a virtual party if you haven't like seen someone in a while.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like a wine night.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like reconnect with an old friend.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, reconnecting with an old friend is also kind of a trope that happens.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, as we know in the prodigal daughter returns, which is kind of fall-ish in season six.

[SPEAKER_00]: So definitely reconnecting [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you want to throw a little gathering to do so, be so fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: And invite people maybe you don't know, like make new friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good, yeah, make new friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: Keep the old, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: One is silver.

[SPEAKER_00]: The other school.

[SPEAKER_00]: The other school.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you a silver girly or a gold girly?

[SPEAKER_00]: Gold.

[SPEAKER_00]: Need to.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, like I speak, I can't sing the song to death.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because one is silver in the other's golden.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're both gold.

[SPEAKER_00]: One is gold and the other is also gold.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, nailed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Changed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that is how to have a Gilmore Girls fall bucket list.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love.

[SPEAKER_00]: I loved putting this together with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's so much fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna actually like really put it together now that we've talked about it and like posted on our Instagram, and you want to do any for like a little?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how to do all of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, just for like a little guidance which I love and I'm really excited about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But speaking of fall, we did have our fall merch drop drop this past Friday.

[SPEAKER_00]: We dropped a drop.

[SPEAKER_00]: We dropped a drop this past Friday with some of our Fogaziba merch and we did promise that we were going to pick a winner from our giveaway from releasing our first like unofficial YouTube video of our first episode a couple weeks ago in our countdown to Gilmour Girls Fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: Give away we have a Fogaziba tote bag and the winner.

[SPEAKER_01]: Which will let our editor put it up on the screen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: If Lauren could [SPEAKER_00]: students some um yeah some images from our merch drop yeah and our winner for this giveaway is Whitney Young who has been with us since the very beginning I love and so we're so glad you're here Whitney and we're gonna send you a free tote bag thank you so much for being here thank you all of our besties for being here I am so excited that we were able to put this list together [SPEAKER_01]: I know and like especially like if this merch drop I feel like it's very fall perfect for your Gilmour Girls fall because you can do your gazebo because it's designed by Emily Kelly who did the winter one last year so it's perfect or I'd rather be in stars hollow.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know but we get to continue the Gilmour Girls fun because next week is Gilmour Girls 23rd anniversary.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited.

[SPEAKER_01]: On October 5th, 2000.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have something kind of fun planned.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
