Episode Transcript
[SPEAKER_02]: Five, six, seven, eight, chili.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's chili burr.
[SPEAKER_02]: Burr, it's cold.
[SPEAKER_01]: Burr, it's cold.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just using burr.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, here we go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, everybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to Gilmour defense Center with Tara and Haley.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tara.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is Haley.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Haley.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Tara.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was a surprise.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know what I was like.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a GTC, GTC chili.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why we called it that two years ago, but it has stuck in my mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: We were just like chili.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just like chili.
[SPEAKER_01]: Chili should have done this at a chilies.
[SPEAKER_01]: We should have with a troubled dinner.
[SPEAKER_02]: Contrasting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I wanted those wicked drinks so bad, but no one wanted to go with me.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a shame.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a real shame.
[SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of chili, it was quite chilly here in New York City, and you would know because you were just here.
[SPEAKER_01]: You literally got back this morning.
[SPEAKER_02]: This morning, yes, this afternoon, I arrived back in Florida where it's actually not chilly as it turns out But it was very cold and I forgot that my skin does not do well in for jade air I'm most people's don't so I literally got home took a hot shower and I would like put like on gallon of moisturizer on because I was like this skin is Toasted yeah totally ironically because [SPEAKER_02]: because it was, it was cold.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's good.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wear two pair of pants on your birthday.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now my birthday was particularly chilly, but it warmed up.
[SPEAKER_01]: I say warmed up like it got in the 30s and 40s.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it raises like 10 degrees.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_01]: But honestly, that made all the difference because it was freezing the morning of my birthday was freezing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was even worse the day before.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm glad that I got a little bit warmer.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then by the time we went to the whole entire reason you came to New York City, the late chow was even called bear by the time we went there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was actually relatively, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it was like tolerable.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually kind of warm.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I remember you were like, I'm high.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sweating.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was wearing too many clothes at that point.
[SPEAKER_02]: I overcomputated.
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, we were being kind of those like annoying girls in a previous episode teasing what it was we were going to be doing.
[SPEAKER_02]: If we could talk about it, but now we can kind of share the best.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's interesting.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's because our dear darling Tara has a darling fiance named Brett Brett the man who works at Stephen Colbert in audience.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he knew about this obviously.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so we didn't want to make his life harder by not revealing this thing that couldn't be revealed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Could you imagine if like, [SPEAKER_02]: us were like the reason I got leaked to the press.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know can you imagine we would have been uninvited so been uninvited.
[SPEAKER_02]: But like let me just say I love that man.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love your fiance.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like what a treat.
[SPEAKER_02]: Coincidentally he's like so do I.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like so coincidentally so to you, but like I just like cannot get over the fact which I feel like I can tell our listeners now that like when he was like, how do you think we could get Haley to New York without telling her why?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like when he found out about it, he thought of me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: He did.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course he did.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're on this connection to Miss Taylor Swift.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you aren't following up, I was my connection.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sticker.
[SPEAKER_01]: Fair facts.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not following us on Instagram, we went to Colbert so that we could see Taylor Swift because she was on the show on December 10th and basically a couple of weeks ago Brett kept getting all of these inquiries because he handles the audience as Haley said for Colbert and along with the VIP and he kept getting all of these like internal inquiries for people to come on the 10th and he was like, why is he going on?
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, something is happening.
[SPEAKER_01]: something is a ruin because it was supposed to be on the show.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's actually going to be on the show as we're recording tonight the eleventh just I wasn't Titanic on the airplane and I was like my girl.
[SPEAKER_01]: My girl.
[SPEAKER_01]: So today it's her and Ben and Jerry from Ben and Jerry's people are getting free I'm a real voucher something [SPEAKER_02]: almost died.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, iceberg.
[SPEAKER_02]: They saw ice cream.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
[SPEAKER_02]: The connection, palpable.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was deep.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like a nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just like that iceberg anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, we were kind of chatting about it and I said, fear I was going on there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so he found out that [SPEAKER_01]: It was potentially not a hundred percent confirmed going to be Taylor Swift and he said do you think Haley would come here?
[SPEAKER_01]: I said I know she would come here, but I have to do it but tell her he said well, you can't tell anybody I said well, that's gonna be a little bit of a problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's gonna be hard to tell her about it exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't tell anybody So after a couple days he was like give her the heads up because I knew that you were packing to leave from Atlanta to go to Orlando for a month.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I was like I need to tell her because [SPEAKER_01]: If there was something you wanted to wear, especially warm clothes because obviously facely it is not the same time but you're up here in New York as it is No, in full only reason I packed a coat to come here with so that I could go to New York.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah So we booked all of the stuff knowing that it was fully refundable if something happened and the gig was canceled But as the days kept passing we were like okay, this is happening, but I wanted to honor that I wouldn't tell anybody besides you You know what was going on because of course as soon as the break out out and the ounce did on Monday [SPEAKER_01]: everybody was like, you know, really excited and, you know, for everything that Brett and his team had to deal with yesterday because it's a lot of people on a regular day, but especially when they're there to see someone as high-profile as Taylor Swift, I think they did a phenomenal same as people on the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so hard.
[SPEAKER_01]: They did a phenomenal job and we had such [SPEAKER_01]: We saw Downhill was like are you joking?
[SPEAKER_01]: I said we were good.
[SPEAKER_01]: I told you we're gonna be in the front row And she was like I know but like you know when someone's like, oh, you're gonna be in the front row like I didn't believe that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know we were literally parked right in front of her chair [SPEAKER_02]: And it's, yes, you were like 20 years for her.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like the two, I was trying to give my mom, she's like, how far were you as like, my mom, I don't understand how feet work.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was 100 yards, I was six feet, I don't, I'm not sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: She was like, if you laid down how many of you would take to get to Taylor's with, I was like, I don't even know how tall I am.
[SPEAKER_02]: Those two much, those two much.
[SPEAKER_02]: But like the two seats that are on the show, like famously on the stage.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like if there were two seats that were off stage that were like mirroring those, that's not what it was.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it was what a beautiful lady.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, but let's wait.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's hold off for a second.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I want to talk about like everything that happened between us sitting down and then hurt coming out because first of all, you were seated in seat number three, which is your lucky number.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you literally looked at me.
[SPEAKER_02]: We had card number six, and you know what sex is, two, three, thirty, three.
[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I have told you, which we'll talk about on Patreon because we're in talk about our years.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next year, I feel so perfectly aligned.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I feel like everything is aligning for me.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel just so...
[SPEAKER_02]: Good, you know, good.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like everything's good.
[SPEAKER_02]: I have my little moments of course who does it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Who does it?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm I am in complete agreement with you and that was really really cool very unintentional very unintentional, but yeah, and then the [SPEAKER_01]: So Paul McCurio, he's a stand-up comedian.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is deemed open for the show.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen him countless times because, of course, I've been to the show before.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so he gets everybody really excited for the show.
[SPEAKER_01]: He does a little tight time.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's the height of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: He does some crowd work.
[SPEAKER_01]: He pulls people up on stage.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he kept looking over at us and I was like, that man's gonna pull us up on stage.
[SPEAKER_01]: And boy did he.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, two girls just sit in on their own.
[SPEAKER_01]: We were just sitting on our own in the front.
[SPEAKER_01]: I knew he was gonna pick us and so he brings us up on stage and you know, funny little ha-haz with the people who were leading up to us.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they were chatting with one of us like the girl who is in next time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she was amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: But she was awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Was her name?
[SPEAKER_02]: Marie Marie, because her mom, her mom started roasting her husband.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she was like, I don't know what's happening.
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, you just look at me, Marie.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we were just making eye contact.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, everything is okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: We are all good.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know she's sharing all of your laundry in front of all these people that you do not know, but we are just seeing her and we are good.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was really lovely.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was like thank you for your support.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we love the stage always But of course, you know he gets to ask us how we met I said we met on TikTok and then I asked her to start a podcast How do you meet on TikTok and I was like, I don't think this man's been on TikTok [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we were both talking about a show called Gilmore Girls.
[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, you know, the crowd was very excited about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because there are girly, if you're a Swiftie in the audience, chances are you've seen Gilmore Girls.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so we got to do like a little plug for the podcast, which was great.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he asked us where we lived.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I said New York City and I pointed to brought and I said, I live with that guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he asked if you were date.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is that when he asked if you were dating anyone?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, he asked.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really buried the lead on.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I didn't bury the lead.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really am.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: I pulled the lead out of being buried.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, that's my fiance back there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because he was in every other.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so that was cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he asked you if you were dating someone and you said no.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he tried to place you next to a 20-year-old guy who was down on.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you said, so I took the mic and I said, no, he's a baby.
[SPEAKER_02]: And everyone goes, oh, and I was like, no, you guys, he, he, he, he, he, he, I looked in him and I said me, I said no hard feelings.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not personal, he goes, I understand.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, like, one of our listeners comments said, actually, I don't know if she's a new listener or a new fan of the podcast because she was in the audience.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, and then then that man tried to set Haley up with that 20 year old boy, and I was like, oh, [SPEAKER_02]: He was always like, no, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, I didn't see that, [SPEAKER_02]: He was like, what do you do?
[SPEAKER_02]: I said, I like to read.
[SPEAKER_02]: He said, okay, bye.
[SPEAKER_01]: He said to bread.
[SPEAKER_01]: He goes, why didn't you tell me it wouldn't have brought them up here?
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was this great, though.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a lot because I was very active in the evening.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone was very excited about you being engaged in what's the other letter?
[SPEAKER_01]: Be.
[SPEAKER_02]: Of course.
[SPEAKER_02]: Famously A, B, C.
[SPEAKER_02]: Our go-work is much past.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, our podcast everyone was really investing in go-work goals.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we met go-work goals.
[SPEAKER_02]: We met a girl on the street because she had been at the taping and she loved my sweater because we're in my dear reader sweater.
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course your outfit was tears your dear reader sweater.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're pro jeans on your [SPEAKER_01]: Sparkly cowboy boots.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know that they had to wear my airstore boot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I knew they I know they did a number on your little Every single toe has a best Everyone every single one and then my big toe just rub the skin clean off the top.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh no no more skin [SPEAKER_02]: See this, so I'm telling you, I am like so convinced that when something really good is happening, you have to have little inconveniences happening, like releasing any negative energy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, I am OCD, I do have OCD, like if that didn't indicate that.
[SPEAKER_02]: But like on the way there, I broke my fingernail, not just my fingernail, it broke off of my finger.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it is displaced from, it is disconnected, yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is disconnected.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which is not great, but famously not.
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: The whole time I was like, okay, let me in I mind make a list of the reasons why I wouldn't end up going to see Taylor.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if I got why this is not going to happen, the plane crashes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, two, uh, give her buy a car.
[SPEAKER_02]: Three, she can't.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like I'm just like making a list of like, oh, the possible scenarios.
[SPEAKER_02]: But then my nail broke and I'm like, oh, okay, cool, released.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's going to happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to have a little bit of a little bit of a little bad thing [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I'll just talk about that with my therapist, don't worry.
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I just feel like it's like, yeah, yeah, don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: But like, I just, if that, if I had something that you think about, just have like a little in convenience and you're like, the path that's perfectly aligned for everything else to go about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, 100% and it did because she came out.
[SPEAKER_01]: She came out and she looked.
[SPEAKER_01]: I gasped.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was [SPEAKER_01]: stunning a little Christmas present a tall lege Christmas present like yes stunning gorgeous stunning gorgeous and I guess tall a day you did you were like wow I said I didn't even think about that you were like I think it's gonna be holiday [SPEAKER_01]: I said cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then she certainly delivered the holiday.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, holiday magic.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only caveat and the only form I had unfortunately.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad this didn't happen to you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that Haley and I famously were sitting next to each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the camera was directly in front of me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because Taylor Swift was directly in front of me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like it could not have been that big so much sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: The camera guy shifted a little bit and I was able to see her for like maybe the second half of the interview.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when they moved to do commercial inserts, I was like, up, clean shot.
[SPEAKER_01]: There she is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There she is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Loved it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Loved it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Loved it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Loved it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was still just being in the room.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was really great.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I said, can you see and you said, I can see perfectly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, I know I like felt bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I would rather it was reversed.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have been devastated.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know but it was like one of those things you were like, oh, I can't I can't see can you see and I was like I actually have the most perfect view of her that I've ever had in my whole day Whoops, we just know that's great.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing But I did tell Brett because I was like just so you know he was like, oh, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, it's okay I just wanted to make sure you know if anyone is like the IP like is expecting a really good view and they ended up there It can be I'm sure because the camera you know when a talk show and I'm saying this to the [SPEAKER_01]: Jen pop who's listening to our besties on the other end because I know you know, but like with a talk show They have to have close-ups on the things that the host like like the yeah Album or anything like pictures that they hold up that's what the camera was there was to zoom out those things So it was one of those things where I was like this isn't even the master shot.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is just a person [SPEAKER_01]: This camera is just there to get close up.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish it wasn't so I don't have that for every single guest because they might not have those things that they pull out You know what I mean, but of course like the show girl and talking about the documentary.
[SPEAKER_01]: It yeah, it was all there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was all good.
[SPEAKER_01]: I loved it I have to listen back to the interview because I [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't watch it as I didn't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of on my way home and then Brett and I, you know, debriefed into that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So true.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because we ended up going out for a lovely state.
[SPEAKER_01]: We had a steak dinner.
[SPEAKER_01]: I had steak, Haley, famously.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brittany and Allergy, but we sat at the bar.
[SPEAKER_02]: We cut in our company holiday party.
[SPEAKER_01]: We called it our company holiday party and said, this is, well, because we did talk business.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a business dinner, but we did.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't talk business at the holiday party.
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess not, but we did.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a kind of a kind of, we kind of, we kind of just like, vibe talked, really, yeah, talking about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually, and then also, it's not like, they've kind of decomposing.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can press it and the most phenomenal mocktails the quality means it was so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how to great time with the bartender.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, wow, we're living or there's the rub dreams right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't end up fighting.
[SPEAKER_01]: We actually had a great time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we got a little bit of fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, my boots got into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with there we go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with your feet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, your toe.
[SPEAKER_01]: We got the one ice cream.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we went back to Haley's hotel.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I left and came home.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then I debriefed with Brad about the day.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just to be like, we'll see.
[SPEAKER_02]: My version of that is that my hotel didn't have regular CBS.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'd like CBS New York.
[SPEAKER_02]: which is only playing New York news at CBS 24 7, which was playing news 24 7.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so the news like that because the news was like, hey, time for Stephen Colbert, and then the news started playing again.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, and so I, there was no Stephen Colbert.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, what is going on?
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm literally in New York City.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why will this not play Colbert?
[SPEAKER_02]: So my mom let me watch it on Facebook.
[SPEAKER_02]: I loved that shot.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I was given them little tidbits because the interview was only supposed to be 26 minutes.
[SPEAKER_02]: They said they went for 36 minutes.
[SPEAKER_02]: I got a bunch of DMs that everyone being like, is it true that the interview was actually an hour long?
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I wish, so I guess that was a little rumor that was happening, but it was 36 because they did say that specifically.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it got a lot of things got cut out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, when she did the name drop joke with Bruce Springsteen, that was kind of- Oh, I was hoping for him to return that when she said the thing about Stevie Nicks.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I was hoping for him to be like, hold on, you dropped something.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly, which was amazing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but that one, and then when she was talking about rising up from the floor in the Airstore and like the rocket sled, that got cut.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, um, but I'm hoping that those things end up on like paramount [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like the full live interview.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure if it interviews end up the day after because I know they do that on other talk shows like because when she was on to me, Fallen, they expanded.
[SPEAKER_02]: They took like an extended version.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so my favorite part was afterwards Steven like [SPEAKER_01]: kind of like putting his like like having his chest because I just like was so he's incredible like he's just such an incredible host and easy person to talk to.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I really loved that like he was a seemed like he was a little nervous.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I asked everybody afterwards he goes to how did it go.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think what I love about that is that he of course he's talked to Taylor like personally before but that he realized so many eyes were on the interview and then wanted something specific from it but also wanted him to be Steven in it so I imagine that's very that's very difficult.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like kind of the same of like when we talk to Amy that like we're like we know what people want from this But like we also want to be here in this and I imagine like when she comes on the podcast when when that it'll feel that same way probably Yeah, it was it was delightful.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's like a gorgeous person like perfect angel [SPEAKER_01]: She loved unbelievable.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was so present and the man we were talking to as we left So she's just so lit up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sincere and I was like, yes, that's so true She's very endearing.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's very sincere and she's just so well spoken And you can tell like she really likes sinks into the conversation she's in she's in she's very pretty major weirdo [SPEAKER_01]: And just a total fucking weirdo.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love that so she fits in here with us.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's like my favorite quality of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So she's weird.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's such a weirdo.
[SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm obsessed with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the best part, y'all.
[SPEAKER_02]: So like Taylor was like very engaged with Steven, which like I feel like that's just like a good way to be when you're a guest talking to someone, just like really engaged with the person you're talking to.
[SPEAKER_02]: She'd like look out to the crowd just a bit, but like we were sitting directly in front of her.
[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the crowd, but the moment that she got up after doing all of the extra bits that she had to do a Steven, she looked directly at me and Tara and said, thanks for coming guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: And with a little like her wave, the little like clam waves, I, is that what we call it?
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess so, yeah, I was like, oh, I didn't know that there was a name for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, just like open and close a little clam, yeah, I blew her kiss back and I'm pretty [SPEAKER_01]: I actually went to blow her kiss as well, but I just was, I was too stunned to see.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just was like, she looked at her.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just so natural that I was like, yeah, here's it for you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but like literally looked directly at us, directly into our eyeballs.
[SPEAKER_01]: And said, things like, oh my guys, if I was like, you're welcome.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're, you're welcome.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome mom.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean Taylor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hailey.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're at the end of the year, so like we can, I know that GTS wrapped us next week, but like we really have to just kind of sit in marinate in the fact that this year, we met Amy Sherman Paladino, Kelly Bishop, Lauren Graham, and we got to sit 20 feet from and wave at and be spoken to by Taylor Swift.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think about the year that we've had and it's just it's truly insane.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's truly insane.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's now the time to bring that up when we're alive.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're not alive.
[SPEAKER_02]: This will be edited.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just makes me a emo.
[SPEAKER_02]: I actually saw a real earlier today that was like me when I don't achieve my goals.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, oh, like you're the worst.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like how dare you me when I achieve my goals.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I kind of just feel like that sometimes when things go well, but okay, well, that's how I wanted it to go.
[SPEAKER_02]: That I forget to sit back and tell a break because like, y'all not to mention, not to name drop here, but I got to meet Nancy this week as well.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's made.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like she like I think in that same way like you mentioning like the big year that we've had in terms of just like who we've gotten to me What we've gotten to do that like she also what kept reminding me of that because I mentioned something So it was Brett's brother-in-law was there talking about how go more to say inspired his podcast and I thought he was was going to mention like a really big podcast that [SPEAKER_02]: inspired them and he goes that is a big podcast and I was an auntie was like yeah that's a big podcast and I was like I love so lovely and loving love of course yeah they're the best I love Brett's family so much and it's so funny because like [SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was so funny that like I was at dinner or trivia which you guys we won trivia.
[SPEAKER_01]: You won trivia on my birthday.
[SPEAKER_01]: My birthday full on a Tuesday this year which was amazing because we played trivia on Tuesdays.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah we got to play on my birthday which is great and we won.
[SPEAKER_01]: And one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And what was our name?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Vicious Trollups.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know of course of course.
[SPEAKER_01]: but yeah it was really cool because Brett couldn't be with us for couldn't be with me at all because he was doing clover and then he also had tech for his other job in the evening so he was playing trivia with us like from tech but yeah so he contributed for sure because there were some answers he knew that I was like I never would have known that I never went video game I was like that was real good for you [SPEAKER_01]: But I was there with Nancy, Dave Scarlett, Brett Sister, and Haley.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was just like, wait, this is so cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I know Brett's not here, but like, this is also my family too.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I was thinking.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I was telling my mom I was like, yeah, it was there with Tara and her in laws.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it was like, but it didn't feel like that wasn't your fate, like it wasn't like your immediate family, like it didn't feel like I was with strangers to you, like it just like this is your new family and it was so great and they were also lovely and I just loved it, I had such a great time and at the end of the night last night I was like, should we go see the tree, like mentally I was like I've seen enough stars.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you just not say that in the top of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know!
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so good.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the whole trip was so fantastic, and I'm so glad that you were able to come and be here.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that we could celebrate my birthday, that you could meet Nancy, that we could see Taylor, you could see Brett.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know you only saw him for a brief amount of time, but for a brief moment, which I almost didn't get to see Taylor, because I tried to take a picture of Brett, and they were like, no pictures.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I don't want a picture of this situation that you're trying to hide.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm really sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: I want to picture Brett.
[SPEAKER_01]: She didn't see him at work doing this job.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you got to see your friend Yasman, which is great.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh Yes, I love her so much.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was just it was just like a nice little like just like glimpses of all of the little things I love about New York City [SPEAKER_02]: Which is I guess Taylor Swift welcome to New York.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been waiting for you, baby.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, love.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a great trip So worth it, but so you left this morning at 9 a.m.
And I said I'll See you later for recording.
[SPEAKER_02]: I took a picture of my the tree and my hotel lobby and I went back to it today I was like, yeah, that says 645 a.m.
That doesn't look there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Have a timestamp of 645 in the morning.
[SPEAKER_02]: So good I'm a little tired.
[SPEAKER_02]: That is that is why this episode is audio only [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I said, should we do audio only to TC's and Haley said, yes, absolutely yes, totally, but yeah, so that that was that was that was what we were being kind of annoying girls about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sorry that we had to be so enrapsed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, it was just to honor, you know, the it was just for Brad for Brad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to honor the it wasn't like we know something, but we don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, yeah, people do that, but it's truly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yes, Hayley might be coming here, I think she's coming here.
[SPEAKER_01]: She is, but we can't tell you why, um, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I was just so worried someone was going to be like, they're meeting Lauren Graham.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I'm very glad that you said, like, it's not Gilmore Girls related.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is something else related.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was something else related.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was great.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it was.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so it was, but we are here, of course, to have a little Gilmore to consider.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was really excited about this voice mail, because when I [SPEAKER_01]: I combed through voicemails from like 2022.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to like, well, really go back into the archives.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: This one is actually the one that I'm about to play for you is 2025.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we have a couple of voicemails in our next GTC that are going to be like, like, [SPEAKER_01]: a little bit older I'm excited yeah okay I love it because you know just because their older voice males doesn't mean they're outdated like it's just about going with those opinions the show aired 25 years ago famous I but pretty sure like any the only thing that would like data it's just maybe something that was happening on the pot that's true that's true actually that way [SPEAKER_01]: I listened to this voicemail and I can't remember the name of the person it was from, but it was very, very sweet because she was like, hi.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, I just wanted to let you know that like, I've binged your podcast this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was from like, must have been very recently.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, I've been binging your podcast, and I've been like, purposefully not following either of you on socials because I wanted to catch up, because like I didn't want spoilers on your lives and she was like, and I found out that terror was engaged from an ad.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like no, because I was talking about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess probably, you know, you know, one of our, one of our ads.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she was like, I found out Tara was engaged from an ad.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, oh, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine you were listening to the podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I'm like, I just got engaged.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you don't know who, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's well.
[SPEAKER_01]: I probably talked about Brad in the ad.
[SPEAKER_02]: You said his name.
[SPEAKER_02]: I actually kind of love that idea that like you're not following us to not get spoilers on our lives.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, just want to let you know you can follow me.
[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing's changed.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's, hey, no, that's fair.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's fair.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I guess the only thing that if she hasn't caught up yet, would maybe be Paley Fest.
[SPEAKER_01]: Haley Fest, Paley Fest, Paley Fest, Paley Fest, Paley Fest, Paley Fest, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I love going through these voicemails.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so hard to pick ones that, you know, to play.
[SPEAKER_01]: I picked just one for today because I knew we were going to get a little bit about.
[SPEAKER_01]: the trip to New York.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I, you know, we've been doing the rewatch club on Patreon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Famously, we've been talking about it a lot and right now we are in the midst of season four, but we were watching season three and we talked about this towards the end.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like very recently when we were watching one of the last few episodes of the third season, which are a little hard to watch, of course, [SPEAKER_01]: all of that, but we got a voicemail from somebody earlier this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought it would be really fun after doing a little bit of a fanfic type episode last week to have a fanfiction moment here about something we chatted about at the end of season three.
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's hear from our bestie, Amanda.
[SPEAKER_02]: Amanda.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, bestie.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is Amanda.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am currently watching Kegmax and watching Rory and [SPEAKER_00]: And it made me think, um, I would love if you guys could do a fantastic episode of what Rory and Jess is seeing your prom might have been like, oh, I just, I want to be able to imagine like what Rory would have worn to prom, what her just would have looked like, um, Jess in the talks, I mean, how dreamy like them double dating with Lane and Dave, what we think they looked like, because I mean, we see some of Lane's pictures, but we actually, [SPEAKER_00]: from no idea like what they looked like at the prom.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what we think starts hollow high prom, what it looked like.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like what were the decorations?
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're demon limbsy there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think it has a lot of potential for a great fanfic episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: If there would be any awkwardness with being in limbsy at at the start, hollow high prom.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what other stuff might have ensued would lower life have made or restrafts.
[SPEAKER_00]: Stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, [SPEAKER_00]: I think that we should put that in the vault, and hopefully explore that concept because it makes my heart so sad, but they didn't get to go to prom together, even though like Jess was willing and Rory was so excited, and it just breaks my heart a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe we can live by Careously through an episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, love you guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.
[SPEAKER_01]: Amanda, Amanda, this is a great question.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so sorry, it took us so long to get to this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know this way.
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I'm just from a youth of this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not super old.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost a year old.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I just thought it would be a really interesting using to explore because I think [SPEAKER_01]: it's just a really interesting what if to explore because I think that we talked about how we would have loved to see Dave and Lane because they actually go to the prom of course the pictures, the whole bag shopping bag full of pictures that Lane brings to the town meeting is so funny but we're like why didn't we get a chance to see them and while I wish yes that we're in just could have gone to the prom to like you know [SPEAKER_01]: I meant my soul.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have loved that especially at the age of 12 when I was just like I wish that you guys had gotten a chance to go to the prom together.
[SPEAKER_01]: I Just think that a lot of the things that would have ensued at the prom as Amanda suggests Dean and Lindsey like you know [SPEAKER_01]: Just seeing stars hollow high in general and what they would have done for the problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think just would have been really really beautiful and interesting and a very fascinating way to bring Rory and Jess's relationship to a little bit of an end because that's where they were headed right so yeah it would have been interesting if say Dean and Lindsay this is after the fight right so like [SPEAKER_01]: Are we a picture of this after Keg Max?
[SPEAKER_02]: OK, because that's that's kind of what I'm thinking of here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I almost wish that we could like remove Keg Max as a happening.
[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit, I don't know, because like I just like it makes it makes things so weird between jess and worry.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I wish they would have left things, I wish she would have left when things were good, if I'm being honest.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that him, I think it would have been harder for him to leave when things were good, to make that decision.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think he left because things were weird with worry because he felt like he messed things up.
[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't because he wasn't going to go back to school and he couldn't do that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a mix of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I kind of wish that like the keg max drama could have been removed from the house party and would have taken place at prom.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I was thinking, I like, as she was as Amanda, as my bestie, my girl, as you were talking, all I could think was like every plot point that happened in keg max would have been so much better to see, not at a house party, but at prom.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I think that that would have been a lot more interesting to use like the cadmax placement as like a continuation of like whatever the fuck was going on with Dean and Jess in the early part of this season because something we talk about a lot with season three is it's like a little bit disjointed in like the continuation of some of the plot lines, some of the arcs.
[SPEAKER_02]: that like Jess and Dean's kind of just like fall off.
[SPEAKER_02]: But then they fight and then it's kind of over.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's like not really consistent.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish something would have like happened.
[SPEAKER_02]: That would have like maybe led to the two of them, something happening there.
[SPEAKER_02]: But like, oh, that would have been so good.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like as far, I'm like imagine like under the seethy, I'm in the Sarashello [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I also feel like it would have been really interesting to juxtapose this prom againstories dance, especially because Dean was like, yeah, pretty much in a fight with Tristan.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't the beginning of what a fight that, you know, would have ended up ensuing between Dean and Jess would have looked like.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we kind of got the preview of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it would have been interesting to juxtapose them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have found it very fascinating.
[SPEAKER_01]: If Dave had to kind of keep them apart, though I do think we would have missed the young two portion of the...
[SPEAKER_01]: if I at the house maybe made my heart sound.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, here's the thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: The young two-day part of it is positively hilarious.
[SPEAKER_02]: It could have maybe happened at prom, but we would have missed out on that.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I really, really like to take your daughter to the prom moment and bring the Bible.
[SPEAKER_02]: And one night, and we can't cut that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's just too essential.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it could have happened in a different way between the two of them, like having a little little spat of a moment before Lane and Dave go to the prom.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I honestly kind of wonder if this would have been a really fun parallel to Roy's dance, of course, to kind of have that chilton versus star's whole high, but also because what is that so called they should go more stomp day the dance marathon is such a beloved episode that I wonder if like having prom and that same location and kind of like not not recreating it, but like kind of just having like the same sort of like um, [SPEAKER_02]: This is a lower live volunteer as a chap around because she's like, I want to see Pratt.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, like, she's a codependent mother, like, why would she not try to get in on something?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, maybe it's like that same sort of like quote unquote bottle episode where it's like, all takes place in one location, which is kind of what dance marathon feels like cuts it's really back loaded.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's boring getting ready, maybe it's like all taking place at the gym.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if it could have been like a fun, interesting sort of, [SPEAKER_02]: parallel to Dean yelling at Rory, but now it's Dean and Jess having it out here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the idea of, you know, the dance marathon kind of being the end of Dean and beginning of Jess.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then this episode being the end of Rory and Jess, yeah, unintentional end.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I feel like they're last really, really close fine with Dean would have been very poetic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what if what if what if Dean proposed to Lindsay it prom a true prom puzzle?
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I just don't know what they did with Dean.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want you there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why see like it it still doesn't make it make sense that they're engaged.
[SPEAKER_02]: I it never will make sense that they got it will never [SPEAKER_02]: make sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not just because they're too young, but because of Keg Max, it's like, you just watch your boyfriend get into a fight with another with your ex-girlfriend's new ish, with his ex-girlfriend.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, meaning your, yes, I'm speaking from Lindsay's perspective, you're right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you just watched your boyfriend get into a fight with his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then he proposed you and he was said, yes, and you were like, this is a good idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: I did a good choice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just seems maybe there would have been a little bit more context if we had seen it at I'm not necessarily a proposal at prom, but like maybe them maybe it's it's Dean telling worry that they're getting married.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or lane, maybe lane and worry over hearing Lindsay talking about it or like them talking like we've been talking about marriage and lanes like that's weird.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know like I feel like maybe like the judgy girls would come out the like I bet you think how what is it?
[SPEAKER_02]: paint dry?
[SPEAKER_02]: Is this interesting?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just kind of like how ice is made.
[SPEAKER_02]: Ice is made.
[SPEAKER_02]: Very similarly slow.
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, so I feel like maybe they would like catch sight of.
[SPEAKER_02]: There would I feel like there'd be a lot of little over hearing conversations happening, miscommunications.
[SPEAKER_02]: Gossip Girl style miscommunication.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, right.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, trying to take that energy out of this because it is the more girls and a house [SPEAKER_01]: But like, it feels very star's hollow, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_02]: It feels very, a lot smaller.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that we can bring that vibe to the prom, because like, it's going to, it's not going to feel opulent in an extravagant in any way.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be, [SPEAKER_02]: stars hollow high gym decorations like under the sea.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's immediately what I thought of like New York City, which would be so weird because New York City's right there, but like, you know, just something something strange.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think my problem was New York City themed actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: I might, I might have misremembered that, but I think ours was time of yours.
[SPEAKER_02]: I should remember I was on prom committee.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, like maybe Lindsay's on prom committee.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, like they're laying in warrior making fun of it She hates that because she was on prom committee something Yeah, I don't imagine Kirk helped decorate, you know, yeah, the I do like the idea of life there being Shaperones, but I agree with you that we kind of got something similar in the dance marathon episode There was drama between the adults.
[SPEAKER_01]: There was drama between the kids and so [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it was better than it happened in the house party, but I do like the idea of it happening a problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's see, that's the thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that ultimately it probably was better, but at the end of the day, a fan fiction about a problem happening there instead, like an alternate universe version of that, I would have accepted that as like the second version.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, I don't, I don't want it to be too much like Dance Marathon, but maybe another Dance Marathon style parallel episode would be good.
[SPEAKER_02]: That goes to it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's just because we want to see Lane and Dave at prom.
[SPEAKER_02]: We do.
[SPEAKER_02]: And what would that affect like?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's the last thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or his agree, like Mrs.
came agreeing to let Dave go to the prom with Lane is the last time we see Dave.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's like, what would we want to see?
[SPEAKER_02]: We would have seen Kirk being the prom photographer taking photos of Like what there's a backdrop.
[SPEAKER_02]: We would have seen Lane and Dave taking photos in front of Kirk's backdrop It would have not been going well [SPEAKER_02]: But they would have gone to dinner beforehand.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because they had the chicken pecata chicken pecata after one bite And like maybe she would have been documenting it in that same way because like of course She documented it for worry, but I'm sure she did it for herself too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so maybe we would have had that aspect of it It's a nice to see like be this lean all dressed up, you know It would have been interesting to see her kind of like her wedding princess mom [SPEAKER_01]: Well, have her moment where she's like wearing a very conservative type like very very Like a strong line her wear from dress, but underneath she's wearing something like rock star.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, of course [SPEAKER_02]: you know.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like Dave helps her figure it out because he's dating.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, in that regard, I think that Dave and Jess would get along at first.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Jess would be amenable to it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think they'd be at dinner together.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it would all work out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they'd be at Luke's, you know, who knows how it would happen if we actually saw it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Luke made chicken [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the alternate universe where they like everything was okay and Jess got to go to the prom like maybe he was still failing out of school, but they let him go to the prom and he got to go with Dave and Lane and obviously worry.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just would have loved to see that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have loved to see.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have loved to go to the prom because she really worries specifically because she really really wanted to.
[SPEAKER_01]: She says as much like there's like one thing that, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, the four of them at Luke's, the drama still could have ensued.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yes, many teachers there, maybe talking, maybe one of the teachers is talking to a lower life.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's a chaperone there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how a lower life finds out that Jess is funking out or Luke finds out that way.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of things to learn here and like honestly, Keg Max could have happened in some regard and like it's still weird between Jess and Rory and maybe that's yes, I was thinking to maybe maybe they maybe they didn't get into maybe Dean and Jess didn't get into like a fight fight but like maybe this is like it's like simmering more I think it I think we had removed herself from the justine conflict enough that it didn't feel I felt a little out of the blue for Dean to just go at him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's say that the conflict did happen and then they end up going to the problem together.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like in Saganite, greasy, that's when Dave asks permission to take to keep it.
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to keep it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, let's say that when Jess leaves Luke's to chase after Rory, you know, when they do the back and forth back and forth, they like when they're outside of the diner and she like goes to go [SPEAKER_01]: If he had said something to her and they decided that they're going to be actually found her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they decided they're actually going to, like my kid, prom tickets.
[SPEAKER_01]: He somehow got prom tickets.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he dropped where he killed my name.
[SPEAKER_01]: He dropped this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they were like, okay, you're bringing where he killed my friend.
[SPEAKER_01]: She used to go here.
[SPEAKER_01]: She used to be here.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're able to go and things just aren't settled between the two of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: That would have been really good drama simmering under the surface.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would have been great for them to like, I think it would have been interesting for like lean and Dave and Jess and Lori to go to dinner together before we come with Jess and Roy kind of being a little on the rocks, but like not wanting to be because like you don't want to be in that spot.
[SPEAKER_02]: They like both want to like connect with each other, but like, [SPEAKER_02]: aren't sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think Justin Dave wouldn't end up talking.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think that it would bring out something in him because Dave's perfect and he can really do anyone.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's fair.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just would have been a really interesting dynamic once they arrive and they see Dean and Lindsay after they've gotten into this massive fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is this how we find out that they're engaged?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, yeah, with all her friends, like, I'm married, or I'm getting married.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, gosh.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I know, but speaking of like being at prom, what would Jess and Marie be wearing?
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he definitely.
[SPEAKER_01]: What he will do is boss and he'd look absolutely.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mr.
Dorino.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, not Mr.
Dorino body.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think it would have been really nice if [SPEAKER_01]: Laura, I had made something for her, but we did get to see that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm worried stand.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, do we want the repetitive, like, the redundancy of that?
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, when Emily haven't started herself.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we already got these things and we're [SPEAKER_02]: She does walk they do walk by that window and the big that'd be pretty for prom Yeah, no, I know I wonder but I couldn't picture her that dress that day.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like this long sleeve red dress I mean she'd look great, but I can't really picture her and that that's not what I think of when I think of Marie Yeah, I envision her like honestly in the U.J.
[SPEAKER_01]: by jump jackdress like something like that, you know Yeah, like true like boggown true boggown But no, I think she also would have looked really cute in something like in [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just like a little shorty dress short.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think she would have done like a little maybe like what they did for worries birthday parties where they bought something like thrifted something and then they like fit fit it to her.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And like Laura Liza magician, so she was able to do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Totally totally.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think just see you in three.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know because that would have gotten to see all three boys in a talk.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we got Dean in the Debbie time episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: We've got Jess Abram and then Logan and you jump by Jeff Jack.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the wedding and in season 6.
[SPEAKER_01]: So famously the bride's made.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what have been really interesting?
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean seeing from a general I think is something a lot of people wanted for worry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like they wanted that happy moment for her Yeah, I think it's much more in-game overall.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's such a teen show episode the prom like yeah, you know, but I do think that [SPEAKER_01]: not getting it is very Gilmore girls of Amy to write in.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, such a bummer, such a bummer, especially because Keg Max is such a controversial episode, it may have like really curtailed a lot of that, but I do think that just would have acted out no matter what, and yeah, I think so too.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the capacity of of getting into a physical altercation with Dean, I just think it would be a really cool out from.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I wonder like that made me like you're talking about the Keg Max of it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I wonder if like in like the acting out, he didn't actually get prom tickets and he couldn't tell her maybe they get there and he doesn't have tickets, but they let her they let them in because maybe they may be they may be the reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's so many different things that could have happened for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know, very interesting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Amanda, Amanda.
[SPEAKER_02]: A moment she mentioned, like, what would she wear?
[SPEAKER_02]: What would just, how would we felt about Jess and a touch?
[SPEAKER_02]: Very good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Good thoughts, Amanda.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good question.
[SPEAKER_02]: With more thoughts, because you're thinking big thoughts.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking big thoughts.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're thinking big thoughts out there.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I love it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought it would have been, I just thought it was a really good voice mail to play because of, you know, you just watched it and we kind of were like mulling over how it would have gone for Lane and Dave.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, let's really talk about how it would have gone for these four to go with all the drama with Lindsay and Dean and like, [SPEAKER_02]: You know, what would have put it out there, and I think that there's a lot of directions that could have taken, but I thought it would be, yeah, kind of, and just mentioning, Lave and Dane, wrong, Lane and Dave, it's like, it would have been so hard for more you to see how, like, perfect they were together, like against her and Jess, yeah, and to see Dean and Lindsay together, like Christopher couples everywhere, yeah, and she's just not, it's not going well.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it wouldn't be really poetic for it to happen in the stars hollow high gym, yes of, you know, the dance marathon, they're finally dancing together and they're just so disconnected.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're disconnected than ever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Then when they weren't dancing together.
[SPEAKER_02]: Stop right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Red.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's red.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's a just marijuana album.
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't keep talking about this because otherwise I'm just going to keep talking about this, but one last thing is I think it would have been really fun full circle moment for where you go more to like have started the series at stars hollow high and be ending like her.
[SPEAKER_02]: high school time, going to their prom, despite having like changed so much.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would have been an interesting, like what it wears for a year more now with all of these girlies there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because we got a little glimpse of it and face off of like laying talking about all of these, like name dropping all these girls who like feel like she's, what does it like stuck up?
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's the fact where that she uses.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I would have loved to just kind of see that full circle.
[SPEAKER_02]: Starts all high to start all high moment when she, [SPEAKER_02]: didn't what you wanted to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: But oh yeah, I could talk about this for hours.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but call in with your thoughts if you have kind of like a what if scenario for what Amanda presented to us because I think that there are a lot of different directions that could have gone in and I think I would have loved all of them honestly for sure, for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that is, this is like our penultimate episode of 2025, which is crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Next week is going to be our GTS wrapped, which I love our GTS wrapped.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a nice little retrospective on the year talk about our years personally and our years to come.
[SPEAKER_01]: What expectations we're setting for ourselves and for the podcast for 2026, which we're really excited to share with you guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I think it's going to be a fun one.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think this was a really big year for us as we started.
[SPEAKER_02]: The episode talking about.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, but it's just always it's always been a little fun tradition that we've had here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but until then, I hope you have a nice Christmas Eve Eve.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, happy Christmas Eve Eve is Phoebe.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you would, if you celebrate.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and happy Halloween.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll see.
[SPEAKER_02]: Phoebe, Eloise, Phoebe, buffet.
[SPEAKER_02]: The city child?
[SPEAKER_02]: She's six, she's six, she's at the Poza Hotel.
[SPEAKER_01]: Phoebe's a fake and friends, goes, happy Christmas Eve Eve.
[SPEAKER_01]: And friends?
[SPEAKER_02]: And why say it, because of Eloise.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Tell a bit, Christmas Eve Eve.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for your attention.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Phoebe buffet from friends, you're like Eloise.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's six.
[SPEAKER_02]: Eloise.
[SPEAKER_02]: She's a city child.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well regardless, whether it's Eloise or Phoebe, we have a happy Christmas Eve Eve or a happy Hanika or any other holiday that you're celebrating, just a happy holiday.
[SPEAKER_01]: All of the same holidays?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I hope you have a happy day.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just hope you have a happy Tuesday, honestly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we will see you next week for a little Gilmore to say we're up.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
